0:02series you're going to learn how to read

0:05the cards without memorizing anything

0:08get comfortable get cozy get your tarot

0:11Journal out get your tarot cards out

0:12because you are going to learn tarot

0:14once and for all yes everything you need

0:18to know to start reading tarot

0:19everything hi my name is Joe Monteleone

0:22I'm a modern Mystic and metaphysical

0:24Misfit and founder of the tower

0:26mysticism Academy an international

0:28school for advanced Tower training

0:30mystical philosophy and a million and

0:32one other things I'm super excited to be

0:34working with you today and to get you

0:36reading tarot so what will you need for

0:39this course four things one you're going

0:42to need a Tarot Journal that can be a

0:43virtual Journal like Google Docs or a

0:46physical Journal you need one don't skip

0:48this

0:48seriously my tarot Journal is now

0:50hundreds and hundreds of pages like I

0:52could probably publish it the second

0:54thing you're going to need is a Tarot

0:56deck

0:56obviously the third thing I've made a

0:59couple guides that will support your

1:00learning in this course as well as give

1:03you more information for the next step

1:05in your Tower education Beyond you can

1:07download those guides in the links in

1:09the description below and finally the

1:11last thing you need is your attention it

1:14might sound corny but tarot doesn't

1:16exist outside of you the art form of

1:18tarot is a subjective discipline all the

1:22methods all the techniques all the

1:24skills are things you generate and grow

1:26within you within your attention and

1:30your focus

1:31that's why card number one is the

1:33magician it's all about attention focus

1:36so if you have your Tarot deck if you

1:39have your Journal if you have the guides

1:41and you're ready to give me your

1:43attention we can begin let's do it now

1:45you might know the elements are ready

1:47but I highly recommend you go through

1:49this thoroughly because what I'm going

1:50to describe here is the foundation for a

1:54lot of more advanced tarot work

1:57I will also have another video I will

1:59link below on a more advanced and

2:02mystical interpretation of the four

2:03elements but don't go there until you've

2:06really taken your time to move through

2:07this video because there's a lot here to

2:09cover the four elements were popularized

2:12in the west by a philosopher named

2:14impedicles they found their way into

2:16tarot through various interesting

2:18philosophical and esoteric Roots but

2:20have become a way through which we can

2:23organize our experiences especially our

2:26human life experiences as opposed to

2:28what we'll get to that in another video

2:31so the four elements are life and what

2:34aspects of Life do they represent the

2:36big four how do I get paid how do I get

2:39laid how do I stay unafraid and how do I

2:42enjoy life's parade the four elements

2:44fire water air and Earth are represented

2:49by the four suits of the tarot the Two

2:52of Wands the suit of Cups the suit of

2:54swords and the suit of Pentacles discs

2:56or coins

2:57I am using the Ryder weight Smith deck

3:00in this course you can use any Tower

3:01deck you want most tarot decks are based

3:04on this Rider weight Smith System many

3:06tarot decks are also based on the Thoth

3:08tarot tradition and I have courses on

3:11that on my channel and of course there's

3:12the Marseille tradition and I'm sure

3:14many others but the cool thing is once

3:16you understand the four elements you

3:18could really use them with almost any

3:19deck we're starting with the suit of

3:21Wands which is the element of fire the

3:23suit of Wands shows us the part of our

3:26lives that are actively creative now I'm

3:30saying actively creative because the

3:32thing is everything is a creative

3:34process you watching this video now is a

3:37creative process you're interpreting

3:39your thinking you're sensing your

3:41processing you are creating an

3:44experience for you it's important to

3:46note is that the whole Tarot deck is an

3:49expression symbolically archetypally

3:51esoterically of a creative process and

3:55that creative process is you and your

3:59life that creative process starts

4:01symbolically with a suit of Wands and it

4:04is active because it is what initiates

4:06the whole process the suit of Wands

4:09shows us our life purpose our career our

4:14passions our desires our will our goals

4:18and generally what we want to achieve

4:21for ourselves it often shows us what we

4:23are meant to do what we are meant to

4:25contribute to this world and because of

4:28that oftentimes it manifests as career

4:31as job as business the suit of Cups

4:34which represents water on the other hand

4:37is passive creativity I use the word

4:40passive creativity to give the context

4:43of reactive creativity in the sense that

4:47in the suit of Cups we're looking at

4:49collaboration

4:50the suit of Cups and the element of

4:52water symbolize our relationships uh the

4:57people in our world our family our love

5:00our emotions unlike the suit of Wands

5:03where we are initiating and actively

5:05directing a creative force in the suit

5:07of Cups we are taking that creativity

5:10and working with it through others

5:14whether that's falling in love making a

5:18family collaborating with friends in a

5:20suit of Cups we are not alone and so it

5:23requires more listening and

5:25responsiveness and responsibility now

5:28something really cool happens when these

5:31two elements get together and this is

5:33what you don't learn as much in Tarot

5:35books so pay attention

5:36when you have will and you have personal

5:40desire and you have a creative process

5:43that you initiate whether that's your

5:44life purpose or a business or a talent

5:47that you want to cultivate when you take

5:49that and you combine it with other

5:52people with relationships with

5:54collaborators that appear in the suit of

5:56Cups you start to form a personal

5:59identity

6:01and that identity is represented by the

6:04suit of swords and the element of air

6:08the element of air is the element of the

6:10mind it's the element of logic and the

6:13intellect and the ego and in a larger

6:17scale it's the element of society which

6:20is itself a large-scale expression of

6:24the mind like if you study the fluid

6:26dynamics of

6:28cities and urban planning and

6:30engineering and stuff you will see that

6:32that's like a model of

6:34the mind the intellect

6:36so in the suit of Swords we begin to

6:40build an identity and a set of ideals

6:44and belief systems around what we are

6:47creating and Desiring and who we are

6:50creating with

6:51now that set of ideals that set of goals

6:56identifications and even ego begins to

7:00shape our material world and our

7:03material world is expressed by the suit

7:06of Pentacles and the element of Earth

7:09the gag is everything you experience

7:13physically in your world including your

7:16body including the things around you

7:18including your financial situation

7:20has a direct relationship with your mind

7:24with your thoughts I'll get into all of

7:27that in more detail on my other video on

7:29the mystical analysis of the four

7:31elements but for now we can just notice

7:34how the physical world the material

7:38world is either a result of your mental

7:43world or at least has a strong

7:45correlation if you don't want to go that

7:47far the suit of Pentacles representing

7:49Earth also represents our physical body

7:51our Wellness our health and also money

7:55it symbolizes money because money is an

7:58abstract measurement of stuff of

8:02material of effort and energy and work

8:05which is another attribution of the suit

8:07of Pentacles now the next exercise I'm

8:09going to teach you is going to show you

8:12how to understand the meaning of over

8:15half the Tarot deck without memorizing

8:18anything what I'm about to teach you is

8:20something I developed to help new tower

8:23readers start reading the cards without

8:25having to memorize a million and one

8:27things without having to memorize

8:29symbols and history and systems and

8:31numbers and all this stuff all you have

8:33to know like I said are the four

8:36elements now this works for the minor

8:37Arcana the majors we're going to get to

8:40in another video Two Steps step one

8:43you're going to notice the suit symbol

8:45and recall the element step two notice

8:49the relationship between that suit

8:51symbol and the rest of the card

8:54where is that suit symbol in relation to

8:58the other symbols of the card how is

9:00that suit symbol Incorporated in the

9:03illustration

9:04that relationship will give you the

9:06context to the subject matter of the

9:09element which makes the divinatory

9:12meaning it's so simple

9:14you're gonna love it let's look at an

9:16example

9:17the Two of Wands step one notice the

9:21suit symbol we see the ones and recall

9:24the element fire we know that wands and

9:27fire represents career life purpose

9:31passion will

9:34now let's notice the relationship of the

9:37suit symbol with the scene we notice

9:40somebody holding one of the wands and

9:43the other wand is bolted to a castle

9:46the person holding the first wand is

9:49also holding a globe and he has his

9:52sights sit onto some location could also

9:54interpret him as looking out into the

9:56distance thinking of something looking

9:59in a specific Direction

10:01so we might say that this is somebody

10:03who holding firmly to their career to

10:07their passion to their life purpose is

10:10Now setting their sights on a new

10:12location on a new goal we can interpret

10:15this wand being bolted to a castle as

10:19symbolizing somebody who has firmly set

10:22up their career in a successful way who

10:25has built something for themselves that

10:27brings them power that brings them

10:29protection that brings them direction

10:32another way to interpret it is that the

10:35energy of the wand which symbolizes fire

10:38and career and purpose is running

10:41through his hands to his eyes and into

10:44his Mind's Eye into his intention into

10:46his goal wherever he is looking at

10:49whatever he is focused on and notice how

10:51I didn't use any esoterica I didn't use

10:54any Kabbalah any numerology all I'm

10:57using is the suit symbol and the scene

10:59you can also use this method to draw in

11:04some more esoteric influence without

11:07having to study a bunch of occult books

11:09I'll show you how you can notice that on

11:12this crenellation of the castle there

11:14appears to be a red rose and a white

11:17lily

11:18you can interpret this as a number of

11:20things and everything from opposites to

11:23Sex Magic to passion and Purity you

11:27could take any of those things and say

11:29that the balance of these two extremes

11:32draws in energy

11:34going through the wand through his own

11:37passion through his own will through his

11:39own purpose and allows him to set his

11:41sights somewhere on the globe in part

11:43two of the series we'll be going through

11:45the suit of Wands using this technique

11:47to generate divinatory information for

11:50each car so make sure you subscribe and

11:53look out for that if you have any

11:54questions let me know and I look forward

11:56to seeing you in part two much love
