0:00how are you doing MCAT students this is
0:02mythical despair fiction Alice today's
0:04video is the golgi apparatus by the way
0:07what is the plural of this world
0:10apparatus let me know down below in the
0:13comment without further ado let's get
0:16started
0:16[Music]
0:29I've talked about all of these subjects
0:32before don't forget to subscribe and go
0:34to my MCATs biology playlist also I've
0:37talked about number seven the
0:38endoplasmic reticulum again mitochondria
0:42powerhouse lysosome is the soldier and
0:44do some delivery guy rough endoplasmic
0:46reticulum trans later yes CPU yes
0:51uber yes SAR is the doughnuts Golgi
0:54today's topic is disorder it modifies
0:57cellular products
0:59sort them and direct the delivery
1:01peroxisomes are the gym trainers Golgi
1:04apparatus the distribution center this
1:06order is a group of stacked membrane
1:09bound sacks stuff goes to the ER
1:13endoplasmic reticulum then into vesicles
1:16then into Golgi then to their
1:18destination goal dream modify stuff by
1:21adding chemical groups such as phosphate
1:23sulfate carbohydrates adding signal
1:27sequences it orders stuff to go into a
1:29certain location in the cell that's why
1:32we call it sorter and its pack stuff
1:35into physicals how golgi works so here
1:39is that nuclear membrane it has some
1:41pores very cool
1:43and the plasmic reticulum is here here
1:45is the Golgi apparatus first part is
1:47called the SIS Golgi apparatus and
1:49here's the trans-golgi because it will
1:51transport the vesicles upwards or
1:54towards the outside here is the vesicle
1:58and this physical when it goes outside
2:00of the cells called exocytosis and here
2:04is the amazing phospholipid bilayer cell
2:07membrane these vesicles right here are
2:12called endoplasmic reticulum vesicles
2:15they get pinched off of the endoplasmic
2:18reticulum and they go to the Golgi
2:21apparatus so it transport them further
2:24and further and further keeps detaching
2:27and then reattaching this vesicles again
2:30and again and again until they are
2:33transported to the outside maybe into
2:39the cell or maybe outside of the cell
2:41for secrete
2:42as an exercises so three destination
2:47either going outside through exocytosis
2:51okay or going into lysosomes or going
2:56into cytoplasmic components so here are
2:59the three destinations number one
3:01vesicles for exocytosis number two the
3:05famous lysosomes and number three some
3:08cytoplasmic components Golgi apparatus
3:11endoplasmic reticulum endosomes and
3:14lysosomes work together in harmony so
3:17this is called endocytosis getting stuff
3:20into the cells called endocytosis if
3:23it's harmful stuff it's it gets
3:25destroyed by the lysosome because it has
3:29hydrolytic enzymes as we have discussed
3:31in a previous video so exercise OSIS
3:35going out endocytosis going in Golgi
3:38helps with the lysosome because it
3:41produces the lysosome and helps with
3:43exocytosis as well
3:45that's why Golgi is a hero the cells
3:48that are secretory cells which means
3:50they will secrete lots of stuff they
3:52have lots of Golgi apparatus inside of
3:55the their cells form follows function
3:59that's it for today what do you think
