0:26God is so faithful so here we are
0:28Matthew chapter number 21
0:31verse number 21 it says this it says
0:33Jesus replied truly I tell you that if
0:37you have faith and do not
0:40doubt not only can you do what was done
0:43to the Fig
0:45Tree but also you can say to this
0:49mountain go throw yourself into the sea
0:53yeah and it will be done
0:58if you
1:02believe you
1:04will
1:06receive whatever yes you ask for now I'm
1:11going to I'm going to read something
1:12else one more time and I want you to
1:14read I want you to hear this and I want
1:17you to respond accordingly if you agree
1:19with God's word Jesus's actual words he
1:22says watch what he says if you have
1:24faith and do not doubt not only can you
1:26do what was done to the Fig Tree but
1:28also you can say to this mountain go
1:30throw yourself into the sea and it will
1:32be done if you
1:36believe you will
1:39receive
1:41whatever you ask for in
1:46prayer I want to put a tag on this text
1:49uh and teach from this topic on the way
1:52back on the way down to your seat just
1:53say there's no doubt about it there's no
1:55doubt about it you may have your seats
1:58in the house there's no doubt
2:01no doubt about
2:02it three
2:05months to build a habit into your
2:08lifestyle three weeks to build a habit
2:11three years to birth it into others to
2:14do the same three
2:16weeks to birth a habit three months to
2:20build it into your lifestyle three years
2:24to birth that belief in others to do the
2:28same family while in preparing for
2:31today's talk I ran across a quote that
2:33arrested me intellectually captured me
2:35cognitively it it it it it had me stuck
2:39psychologically it messed me
2:41up the quote that I ran across says
2:44simply this doubt is a pain too lonely
2:48to know that faith is his twin
2:54brother mess me up doubt is a pain to
2:59lonely to know that faith is his twin
3:04brother that there's a thin line between
3:06faith and doubt that that that in many
3:09cases maybe we'll argue maybe there's no
3:12lying at all in many cases if we're not
3:14If we're honest faith and doubt are't
3:17always in opposition to each other stay
3:20with me and many of us have heard about
3:23the power of Faith we've been talking uh
3:27throughout this series this me and three
3:28series we've been talking about how our
3:30word for 2025 is believe we've been
3:33talking about faith we we've heard
3:35sermons on walking in faith believing by
3:38faith standing in faith we've heard uh
3:41that James said faith without works is
3:44dead many of us have heard uh that
3:47meaning meaning we've got to align our
3:49actions with our articulations that
3:51we've got to put feet to our faith right
3:55that our faith must have feet faith
3:57means I don't just talk faith talk I
4:00walk Faith walk right I believe that
4:03that's 100% true that Faith uh is watch
4:07this is believing so much in something
4:11that you're starting to get ready for it
4:14that preparation is faith in action
4:17that's right yeah that that preparation
4:20is faith in action because real Faith
4:24does something real faith is actionable
4:28real faith is preparation and wow all of
4:32that's true all of that is absolutely
4:35true Bible backs that up I I believe
4:37that there's something else that we got
4:39to investigate as well I want to suggest
4:41that there's another aspect of our faith
4:43Journey that goes overlooked and under
4:45acknowledge are y'all
4:47here this is going to be good it is not
4:51simply how much faith I have but it is
4:55in fact how do I deal with doubt right
4:59okay
5:01what I find interesting is all
5:03throughout the Bible the individuals
5:05that walked in great faith did so with
5:07an accompanying characteristic they they
5:10not only accomplished major Faith Feats
5:13they also did that at the same time
5:15dealing with
5:19doubt Hebrews Hebrews 11 Chronicles the
5:22faith Hall of Fame but what if we had a
5:25doubt Hall of
5:27Fame okay what if what of some of the
5:30individuals that are most known for
5:32their faith walk also knew how to
5:36navigate the nuances of a doubt
5:40walk maybe doubt watch this it's right
5:42on the screen doubt is not the opposite
5:44of faith it is an essential element of
5:49Faith okay y'all stay with me we're
5:51going somewhere okay that that it is an
5:54essential element of fa doubt can be
5:57used as a vehic vehicle from stagnation
6:02to manifestation at some point all of
6:05us are going to have to wrestle through
6:09dealing with doubt oh I know I know I
6:13know you came to church and you got your
6:15good church face on you got oh no oh
6:19Pastor you don't know I stand on the
6:21word of God and I believe that that's
6:22true Pastor I don't wrestle with doubt
6:25okay I hear you no no no God's word is
6:28true if God said it then that settles it
6:31mm that sound real
6:34good sound real good how are you doing
6:36today oh I'm blessed in high
6:40favor I'm too blessed to be stressed yes
6:45too anointed to be
6:50disappointed you can't make me doubt
6:52them cuz I know cuz I know too much
6:55about
6:57him if we're honest if we take an
7:00objective observation at our Behavior we
7:03will find that depending on the season
7:05that we're in or the situation we find
7:07ourselves in doubt can arise and if
7:11we're not careful not only can doubt
7:13rise but doubt can ruin our
7:17life you're right don't don't look at me
7:19like that you're right don't don't look
7:21at me like I'm talking crazy because you
7:24can sit in the doctor's office knowing
7:26all the word you know come on Wow you
7:29can have all the scriptures memorized
7:31and you could be in a doctor's office
7:33waiting on a
7:34diagnosis and don't tell me you're not
7:36sitting there and saying God I believe
7:38you
7:41but yeah you you can be in a boardroom
7:45waiting on waiting on an approval for a
7:48certain project that you need to go
7:49through and you can sit there and you
7:52can be believing God standing firm on
7:54his word but then at the same time
7:56you're thinking what are they
7:58thinking you can be in a courtroom come
8:01on now and trying to figure out Lord
8:04Lord I believe you I got faith in you
8:06but the jury is still out yeah yeah and
8:10what's going to be the
8:12verdict oh yeah all of us you all of us
8:17have had to deal had to wrestle through
8:19the nuances uh of Doubt y'all stay with
8:21me it'll get better it'll get better
8:23later all of us had to wrestle uh
8:25throughout the nuances of doubt you can
8:27be sitting in in in in a therapy session
8:30across from the love of your
8:33life because you find yourselves at an
8:35impass and you can't quite agree with
8:38something and and you got the therapist
8:39there and and they're doing their best
8:41to try bring both parties together and
8:43you're sitting there and you're
8:44believing God that he can mend the
8:45marriage but at the same time you're
8:47wondering what if something else happens
8:52yeah all of us have had to deal w w with
8:56with doubt because the seed of doubt
8:59doubt is unanswered
9:01questions impaired sight the seed of

9:12unanswered questions doubt doubt watch
9:15this doubt is basically questions that I
9:20have not had answered yet
9:24okay D doubt down there questions that I
9:28have not answered yet D doubt is
9:29elevated when I have impaired sight
9:32y'all stay with me I'm going somewhere

9:36so y'all y'all some some sermons are
9:39worth shouting over some sermons are
9:41like
9:42surgery oh yeah welcome to the surgical
9:48table doubt doubt obstructed sight
9:54multiplies
9:58doubt so so so doubt arises when we are
10:01more familiar with the size of our
10:04mountains than we are the size of our
10:07Master doubt doubt is when we Elevate
10:10our problems over our God so then it
10:14leaves us with more questions than
10:20answers God God God I know what you can
10:22do but are you going to do
10:24it and not only are you going to do it
10:27have you ever asked this don't say
10:28nothing just let it be me have you ever
10:30asked God not only are you going to do
10:31it but
10:34when yeah welcome to surgery have you
10:37ever said God I believe you can but
10:41when you got all this
10:44power and create the heavens and the
10:47Earth surely you can take this
10:51sickness Sur surely you can you can you
10:54can you can heal my child right yeah
10:57surely you can fix their their
10:59perspective surely you can get through
11:01to them God I know you can but
11:05when you ever said you ever asked God
11:09when don't don't worry it get better at
11:11the end I think so so doubt is when we
11:14have more questions and answers I'm
11:16arguing that that that it is the way the
11:20Believers in scripture dealt with doubt
11:24that distinguished them and even
11:27afforded them the ability to walk in
11:29Faith watch this watch this somebody say

11:40what what I'm saying is that watch this
11:42watch this faith is refusing to believe
11:47in
11:51doubt y'all GNA catch that Wednesday on
11:53the way to
11:55work faith is refusing
11:59to believe in
12:01doubt so just like walking in faith is a
12:04refusal to believe in doubt dealing with
12:06doubt is a prerequisite to walking in
12:13faith okay Faith is refusing to believe
12:17in doubt it's refusing to believe that
12:20the questions that I have that have not
12:21been answered will be answered in an
12:24opposite way of what God desires it for
12:26for it to be in essence what I'm saying
12:28is this when I have faith my faith is so
12:33strong that the questions that I have
12:37cannot overtake the faith that I have
12:41right because my faith is not just
12:43rooted in faith uhoh my faith is rooted
12:47in
12:48God my doubts are rooted in my ability
12:52not God's ability so then when I say
12:55faith is refusing to believe doubt that
12:58means regardless of what oh god
13:00regardless of what comes my way
13:03regardless of the storm regardless of
13:06the trauma regardless of the tribulation
13:09I don't look at the sides of my doubt I
13:12look at the sides of my deity and that
13:15is my
13:18[Applause]
13:21God the the the the
13:25benefit of
13:27Doubt the benefit
13:31of of of Doubt did you know that your
13:36memory is uh Faith's greatest
13:41Ally
13:43right the benefit of Doubt somebody say
13:45the benefit of Doubt benefit of Doubt
13:48did you know that your memory is your
13:51Faith's greatest Ally yeah you you you
13:55you don't know how good that was in
13:57other words you your memory serves as a
14:01receipt to what you believe oh you don't
14:04know what a receipt is so you ever been
14:07to
14:08Walmart you go to Walmart uhuh and you
14:11purchase something they give you your
14:14receipt if you purchase it yeah some of
14:17y'all going to that self checkout
14:26line I rebuke you
14:31you get the receipt right but then when
14:34you get when you purchase something you
14:36can't just walk out the
14:38store you get to the door and they have
14:41they have a bouncer at the
14:43door and he's like right he's not let
14:46he's like no you're not you're not
14:48getting out without showing him that
14:49receipt right because the receipt is
14:53proof that you pay for what you
14:57have right right I come get you the
15:00receipt is proof that you paid for what
15:03you have and your memory serves as a
15:07receipt that when it is you find
15:09yourself in a situation you can look
15:12back at the receipt of life and say God
15:15you brought me out of this in 2002 you
15:18healed me in 2006 it was in
15:221984 that you cured me from
15:25cancer so my prayer oh God my pray
15:29praise is not predicated on my doubts my
15:32praise is predicated on my memory when I
15:35think of the goodness of Jesus in all
15:39I'm sorry in all he's
15:42done yes sir in all he's done I got
15:45receipts yes sir you you you know what I
15:48got receipts let let me show you some of
15:49the receipts that I have I got a belief
15:51receipt belief receipt number one is is
15:53Mark 11:24 it says therefore I tell you
15:56whatever you ask in prayer y'all say
15:58this word with me believe that you have
16:01received it and it will be yours okay
16:03belief receipt number two is influence
16:05and they said believe in the Lord Jesus
16:08and you will be saved you and your
16:09household in other words my belief will
16:12impact and influence others yeah yeah I
16:15got another receipt belief receipt
16:17number three is the impact truly truly I
16:19say unto you whoever believes in me uh
16:21will also do the works that I do and
16:24watch this Greater Works this is Jesus
16:26talking Greater Works than these will he
16:29do who who is the he that Jesus is
16:32talking about he's talking about the
16:34individuals whoever believes right right
16:39he says when you believe you unlock
16:43Greater Works wow greater in quantity
16:47not
16:48quality right right right Jesus is like
16:51yo I'm out of here 33 years I'm gone but
16:54if you live a life of belief yeah you'll
16:57be living beyond that and therefore
16:59walking in the ability to do even
17:02greater more
17:06right okay I got to get to the text all
17:11right what what I'm saying is that maybe
17:13our doubts tell us more about our faith
17:15than our faith tells us about our
17:18doubts
17:21wow maybe the issue is not wrestling in
17:25doubt maybe the issue is staying in
17:30doubt yeah am maybe maybe it's not
17:34wrestling with doubt maybe it's
17:35wallowing in
17:41doubt when I wrestle I I'm fighting to
17:45get out of something when I
17:48wallow I'm enjoying staying in
17:51something right right this is why you
17:56can't judge your neighbor look straight
17:57at me this is why you can't judge your
17:58neighbor cuz you know they struggle you
18:01don't know if they're wrestling
18:02wrestling or if they're
18:07wallowing some of us are wrestling we
18:11got some things that we're believing God
18:13to to to to help us get through we got
18:16our own
18:17struggles and somebody say it's none of
18:19your business what just tell them just
18:20tell them right there it's none of your
18:21business it's all right we got our own
18:25struggles and we're wrestling with God
18:29and we'll believe in God to give us the
18:30strength the ability the enablement the
18:32power the grace to get
18:34through and then some of us are
18:39wallowing when you wallow you just get
18:42it all on you and you love
18:47it well so so y'all all right when when
18:53you wallow in something okay when you
18:56wallow in something you want more of it
18:58on you my lord when you wrestle with
19:02something you got it on you but you
19:04don't want it on you
19:06right there a difference
19:09hello so so we had this thing right so
19:11Jason's first birthday you know they
19:14give you know the tradition typically
19:16it's like you give them a cake and you
19:17let them kind of dig into it you know
19:19they smash it do whatever so it it was
19:22interesting because we gave him a cake
19:24we put it in front I should have had a
19:25picture it was craziest thing gave him
19:27the cake put it in front of we was like
19:29all right go for it Jay you know happy
19:32birthday whatever he looked at the
19:35cake he's
19:38said I said Jase go ahead slap I'm
19:40thinking he's gonna take it and you know
19:42throw it and do the whole thing he he
19:44went like
19:48this he got a little bit on him but see
19:51the thing is he doesn't like things on
19:53his
19:57hands so when something got on him he
20:00wanted to hurry up and get it off real
20:01quick that's a wrestle right right when
20:05I Y are y'all
20:07here the wrestle is it's on me but I
20:10don't want it on me God what do I need
20:11to do right the wallow is it's on me I
20:14love it I'm enjoying it don't nobody
20:16tell me anything about it because if you
20:18do then I'm going to cut you off because
20:19you must be hating on me what's the
20:21problem why you worried about me the
20:23Bible says judge not L you be judged the
20:25Bible never said don't judge thank you
20:30Only God can judge me the Bible doesn't
20:32say that don't say that Tac Tupac
20:36did only God can jump okay
20:39that's Apostle Park I ain't
20:46mad but Jesus said you know a you know a
20:51tree by the
20:54fruit that it
20:56Bears all I'm saying is there's a
20:59difference between wrestling and
21:02wallowing staying in doubt staying in
21:05doubt or wallowing in doubt ties God's
21:09hands wallowing in doubt keeps God at a
21:14distance wallowing in doubt denies God's
21:18power so in our text we see what happens
21:20when doubt is called out um we see that
21:24faith can be released I'm doing great on
21:26time oh this is good so so in the text
21:29let me give you a little context so that
21:30you can respect the content Matthew
21:32chapter number 21 uh is most notably
21:35known uh for Jesus coming into the
21:37temple turning over tables all right so
21:40the money changers were in there the
21:42merchants were in there and and Jesus
21:44goes into the temple and he finds out
21:46that something that cost $2 on the
21:48street y'all selling for 12 in the
21:51temple it's it's like going to the movie
21:53theater and buying a pack of candy or
21:56something how in the world is this candy
21:58$12 I $6 at anyway so so Jesus comes uh
22:03into the temple is most notably known
22:04for that uh so Jesus in that particular
22:07instance approaches these uh churchgoing
22:10people in a sense and calls them
22:14Hypocrites right uh you you all are
22:17exploitive in nature in essence is what
22:19he's saying right that that is that
22:21scripture is not about not selling
22:23things in church that scripture is about
22:25exploitation in church amen that's
22:27important to know
22:29so here it is Jesus then goes on this uh
22:32he he leaves from there and then he
22:33heads on to his next destination and
22:36here is where we pick up the text in
22:38Matthew chapter number 21 verse number
22:4118 says this early in the morning Jesus
22:43was on his way back to the city he was
22:46hungry um seeing a fig tree by the road
22:50he went up to it but found nothing on it
22:53except
22:55leaves then he said to it
22:58may you never bear fruit
23:02again immediately the tree
23:05withered that's the end of
23:09that trip on trip on this trip on the
23:12fact that Jesus is traveling Jesus is
23:14traveling with his disciples and they
23:16roll upon this tree they get to this
23:18tree and Jesus sees this tree this tree
23:20has leaves all over it he looks at the
23:23leaves that are Lush all over the tree
23:25and he says
23:28where are the
23:31figs where are the figs that's supposed
23:33to be on the tree because leaves are on
23:35the
23:36tree so so it's interesting because uh
23:39we're talking about agricultural time
23:41and all that good stuff it's interesting
23:43because when when typically when there's
23:46leaves on the tree figs would be on the
23:50tree right so this tree looked good this
23:54tree had these Lush lavish leaves
24:00um so it makes sense that Jesus and his
24:04disciples would would approach it
24:06looking for something because it looked
24:08real good the only problem is when they
24:12got close enough to it to really
24:14investigate investigated they saw you
24:17look good but you're not producing
24:22anything oh you yeah oh you got fruit I
24:25mean you got leaves and if and if look
24:28at if I take a cursory glance I will
24:31think that you are
24:34fruitful if I take a cursory glance at
24:37the life of this
24:40tree you you you talk Christian
24:45talk if I take a cursory glance at the
24:48life of this tree I'm not talking about
24:49you I'm talking about the tree if I take
24:51a cursory glance at the life of this
24:52tree you look very productive
24:58I can imagine people from a distance
25:01applauding how beautiful the tree
25:04is but what's the point of being
25:06beautiful and
25:10Barren so here it is he
25:15says I'm looking for production and
25:17fruitfulness out of you and because I
25:20don't see it I've got to curse you wait
25:24hold
25:25on hold on because it's one thing to be
25:28cursed it's another thing when Christ
25:30curs
25:32you how do you bounce back from
25:36that LE let's deal with the lack of
25:40production from the tree the frustration
25:43of
25:44unfruitfulness you want to know why this
25:46me and three series is so important
25:48because many of us can testify to the
25:50fact that there's been times where we
25:53set out to accomplish something and for
25:55whatever reason we have not been able to
25:57do so right there's a number of reasons
26:00some of which very valid we get it what
26:02I'm saying is the reason that this is
26:04important because he gives us something
26:05in here that is extremely important
26:07y'all this is extremely important that
26:10we catch this as we as it relates to the
26:12fact that verse 19 says seeing as seeing
26:14the Fe Tree by the road he went up to it
26:15but found nothing on it except
26:19leaves so then I want I start asking
26:22what what causes a lack of fruitfulness
26:25or a lack of production
26:29I'm glad you
26:30asked the first thing I see that causes
26:32a lack of production is
26:36pity pity pity the second thing I see
26:39that causes a lack of production is
26:43Partners I'll come back and chase them
26:45the third thing that I see that cause a
26:47lack of production is
26:51procrastination oh
26:53boy I tell the the fourth thing that I
26:55see that causes a lack of production is
26:57prayerlessness
27:02all right well let's chase these down
27:04then the first thing that caus a lack of
27:07production is this too practical for us
27:09or should we like go
27:11straight pity you want sympathy more
27:15than you do
27:21success you want sympathy you you not
27:24not you but some people some people some
27:26of us we want Sy empathy we want
27:29somebody to feel sorry for us because of
27:31what happened in the previous
27:35season and I understand the need for it
27:39I get it you want somebody we want
27:42someone to just sit there with us and
27:44sing our sad sorrowful song about what
27:47didn't happen 12 years
27:50ago I can't believe they did
27:54that I can't believe this I can't
27:57believe and we like yes I'm not saying
27:59not an excuse the stuff is real stuff
28:02happened it hurt it's
28:05real but you want a pity
28:08party and I love you too much to give
28:10you one right I'm not throwing pity
28:16parties somebody say and I'm not
28:18attending them either amen come
28:22on you want sympathy more than you do
28:25success that pity is when when we're so
28:27stuck on what didn't work last time we
28:30we would rather stay psychologically
28:34there than move towards where we're
28:37called to
28:40be so so pity pauses production what
28:44else
28:45Partners some circles are not
28:48connections they're
28:54[Music]
28:56contraceptives do we need unpack
28:58contraceptive is this the fresh kids
29:02upstairs so a contraceptive stops
29:06something from being
29:09birthed maybe some production is not
29:12happening because of some of the
29:14partners you're
29:16with and they're stopping yeah not that
29:20not that they're trying to stop it not
29:23that they're intentionally set on
29:26stopping it
29:28they are good people didn't we talk
29:31about this last week how Eve gave adam
29:34the fruit a person he loved with good
29:38intention she didn't try to give him
29:40something that was
29:44wrong are y'all with
29:47me Partners some some some connections
29:51are
29:54contraceptives do you produce when
29:56you're with them wow
30:00the third thing I got to go I got to get
30:01to the text the third thing is
30:07procrastination procrastination guys is
30:10the assumption that you'll have more
30:15time procrastination presumes that you
30:19get to tell God when you're going to do
30:23what he's called you to do
30:28procrastination puts us in the Throne of
30:31our lives and removes God and God's
30:35word are y'all
30:38here I'm good so so so the assumption
30:42that you'll have more time than you
30:43actually do so when I procrastinate I
30:45say hold on God I got to go do something
30:51better number four prayerlessness I got
30:53to get prayerlessness when we don't pray
30:55we're saying God you can sit this one
30:57out
31:02I got this one God you you handle the
31:05last one this one here is on
31:07me so so so they rolled up on this tree
31:11I got to move they rolled up on the tree
31:13saw leaves uh but no fruit cool um then
31:19the Bible says uh right here Jesus says
31:22uh may you never produce anything he
31:25curses uh you never produce fruit again
31:28again immediately somebody say
31:30immediately immediately immediately the
31:32tree withered here's the disciples
31:34response when the disciples saw this
31:36verse number 20 they were amazed they
31:38said this how did the tree wither so
31:42quickly they asked ah you missed
31:44it they didn't just say how were you
31:47able to do
31:48that they said how was this
31:52tree
31:53withering so
31:56quickly this is a timing
32:02Miracle the disciples were amazed not
32:05just at what but at the time the
32:09wind contextually speaking because we
32:12want to be contextual we want to be
32:13integral to the text contextually
32:15speaking this is a what they call a uh
32:18it is a a miracle of Destruction thank
32:20you it is a miracle of Destruction so
32:24the tree
32:25declined it withered it shriveled up and
32:29that was my shout when I was in my
32:32office because we always thank God for
32:37accelerating a
32:39thing I'm getting ready to praise God
32:43for the stuff he let
32:46wither yeah y' I I preach on this side
32:49this the only side that's going to catch
32:50it I'm getting ready to thank God for
32:53the relationships he let wither up for
32:56the friendships he let wither
33:00up because it is his kindness that says
33:04I'm going to allow it to wither up
33:06immediately that means I don't have to
33:08waste years thinking you're the one when
33:11[Applause]
33:15you Jesus said truly I tell you to if if
33:18you have verse number 21 truly I tell
33:20you if you have faith and do not doubt
33:22not only can you do what was done to the
33:24Fig Tree but also you can say to this
33:26mountain go throw your into the sea and
33:29it will be done oh my God if you have
33:32faith and do not doubt not only uh can
33:36you do what I did to the Fig Tree y'all
33:38don't know when to shout he says if you
33:40have faith and do not doubt not only can
33:44you do what I just did to the Fig Tree
33:47but you can do something to something I
33:49haven't even done
33:51yet he says you can speak to this
33:54mountain and contextually he points to a
33:56mountain
33:59he says you can speak to this mountain
34:01and you can start talking to this
34:03mountain as if it has ears right you can
34:06talk to an inanimate object I know y'all
34:09ain't got faithful stuff like that but
34:11you can talk to an inanimate object and
34:14tell it to do something and it has no
34:16choice but to do what you said it had to
34:19do because you have
34:22Fai he says he says uh um you can speak
34:27to this
34:29mountain the mountain contextually is
34:33the mountain in front of them
34:35figuratively we can see a mountain as
34:37anything that's blocking us from

37:17debt this mountain of
37:21fear it's mountain of
37:24stress the mountain of hurt
37:30the mountain of
37:32questions that I don't have answers
