0:00welcome back to my Channel or welcome to

0:02my channel if you're new here you have

0:05caught me in the midst of my un

0:07internship series is one video out

0:10already and um because this is a

0:13democracy I recently took to my

0:15community tab shout out to YouTube for

0:17giving me a community tab I have been

0:19waiting for one for so long um and now I

0:23have one which is so cool so keep your

0:25eyes peeled on that I will be engaging

0:27with you all um more so on there just

0:30cuz like the purpose of this is really

0:32to build a community and I basically

0:34asked which video you want to see first

0:37um a video where I read out the cover

0:39letter that got me my un internship or

0:43the video where I talk about my un

0:44interview

0:46experiences and according to the poll

0:4860% of you at at least at the time of

0:50recording this voted that you would like

0:52to see the UN coverlet video first so

0:55here I am a woman of the people I'm just

0:58here to deliver so obviously in prep for

1:00this video I had to go back into the

1:03archives to find this cover letter first

1:05of all and when I found it I just I felt

1:09like mixed emotions but I really want to

1:11share what I what the settling emotion

1:13was cuz I always say you are not

1:16responsible for your first thought but

1:17you very much are responsible for your

1:19second when I first read through it I

1:21was like wow my cover letters have come

1:23such a long way since then um and this

1:26cover letter really walked so my current

1:28cover letters could run cuz they

1:30sprinting at this point if I do say so

1:32myself and then you know the more

1:34enlightened part of me refrained from

1:36being critical of the past version of

1:39myself that wrote this cover letter and

1:41you know usually I think we can all be

1:43very self-critical I don't think this is

1:45unique to me um and for me you know it

1:48often takes shap in the form of oh my

1:50gosh she was so ignorant the settling

1:52emotion and really my second thought was

1:55just that you know 23-year-old me was

1:58really just doing the best she could

1:59with what she had and with what she knew

2:02and um yeah I've made it seem like this

2:05is the worst cover letter out there it

2:06really isn't I actually remember being

2:08so proud of it funny enough the place

2:11where I found the cover letter is

2:13actually an email IID sent to my friend

2:15who had reached out asking for cover

2:17letter guidance and here's the best part

2:19about this story I actually hadn't been

2:21selected for the internship yet let

2:23alone you know being shortlisted for an

2:25interview but I just remember after

2:27submitting this um application and I do

2:30remember thinking this cover letter was

2:32pretty good I mean enough to send it to

2:34you know my friend as a sample of what a

2:37cover letter should look like even

2:39though I had no external validation that

2:41this really was uh you know you and

2:44internship with a Caleta if you will so

2:46yes and as much as this video is really

2:48about a un internship cover letter I'd

2:52be a Miss if I let the opportunity slide

2:54to remind you not to be too critical of

2:57past versions of yourself cuz genuinely

3:00you were just doing the best you could

3:01with what you knew and that has to be

3:03enough okay last thing before we get

3:05into it for real um I need to give a

3:07necessary disclaimer that evidently

3:09there are so many ways to write a unw

3:12worthy cover letter the purpose of this

3:14video really is just to show you one of

3:16said ways you're more than welcome to

3:18copy the structure of my cover letter

3:20but it's really not advisable that you

3:22copy the content of my coveretter and I

3:25think that's pretty much all the

3:26housekeeping I need to do today and

3:28let's just get into it yes sir or Madam

3:31I'm hereby applying for the Giga

3:33Communications internship with the

3:35office of innovation at UNICEF

3:37headquarters I would like to intern for

3:39Unicef because this organization shares

3:42the same passions and beliefs that I

3:44have held for many years protecting

3:46educating and empowering the world's

3:48most vulnerable children is work I

3:50consider fulfilling and it would be an

3:52honor to contribute to this cause

3:54furthermore this internship is appealing

3:56to me because I'm interested in the

3:59execution

4:00of well strategized Global programs like

4:03the Giga and how they intersect with

4:05effective communication strategies I

4:08believe I am a suitable candidate for

4:10this internship because I have strong

4:12written and verbal communication skills

4:15which I am regularly improving both

4:17online and offline I led the english

4:20team as a global engagement officer for

4:23Kosar University of Venice for one year

4:26being equipped with these skills will

4:28help me to prepare engage enging content

4:30using persuasive and emotive language

4:33for the different UNICEF social media

4:36platforms furthermore these skills will

4:38help me to efficiently gather

4:40information draft out reports and

4:42correspond with personnel and third

4:44parties moreover I possess a strong

4:47track record of creating quality content

4:50for my blog previously entitled low blog

4:53Damia my University's website and most

4:56recently for my storytelling podcast

4:58entitled global narratives where I share

5:01events and experiences that have altered

5:03my perception and changed the way I move

5:06through the world in one year my podcast

5:08has been streamed in over 30 countries

5:11and I continue to refine my storytelling

5:13skills with every new episode I also

5:16take online classes such as Keith

5:18yamashita's class storytelling for

5:21leaders how to craft stories that matter

5:24lastly after holding several leadership

5:26positions such as her of vmba house 2016

5:30and Secretary of the European Parliament

5:32in the Venice University's model

5:34European Union 2019 I've gained strong

5:37organizational speech writing and

5:39problem solving skills which I believe

5:41will make me an asset to any team

5:43through this internship I hope to

5:45improve my understanding of analytics on

5:47platforms that I'm less familiar with

5:49while building new skills such as

5:51learning how to operate new software

5:53more importantly as I aspire to insert

5:56very big life goal that I cannot share

5:58on Beyonce's internet here this

6:01internship will be very insightful as

6:04International internet connectivity will

6:06be essential as we strive to close the

6:08digital divide and persevere towards SG4

6:12quality education the Giga program will

6:14also provide me with an opportunity to
