0:00I recently discovered the real
0:01difference in strength between men and
0:02women and I don't know how to feel . I'm
0:0424 and I train five days a week . I
0:06deadlift 220 pounds and I work out five
0:08days a week . I prep my meals every
0:10Sunday and have three types of protein
0:12powder at home . My boyfriend has never
0:13touched a weight in his life . He eats
0:14cereal for dinner and thinks walking to
0:16the lobby is cardio . We've lived
0:17together for two years and have a rule :
0:18neither of us wants to do the dishes .
0:20So when the sink fills up , we arm
0:21wrestle to see who washes them . It
0:23started as a joke on our first night in
0:24the apartment and never stopped . Always
0:26at the kitchen table . Elbow on the rest
0:27. The loser washes everything . We have
0:29a scoreboard on the fridge . I win
0:31almost half the time and every time I
0:32do , I perform my little victory dance .
0:34He grumbles , but he washes everything
0:35perfectly . I used to think we were
0:37similar in strength . I even thought I
0:38was stronger . I'm the one who opens
0:40jars , carries the heavy side of the
0:41couch , and hauls the water jugs . Last
0:43week we ordered pizza and there was one
0:44slice left . I said it was mine , but he
0:46grabbed it right in front of me . I
0:47jumped on him to take it back , laughing
0:49, and managed to grab his wrist . I
0:50thought I was winning . Then he pinned
0:52me against his chest with just one arm
0:53and kept eating the pizza with his
0:55other hand . I pushed , twisted , used my
0:56legs , nothing ; it was like trying to
0:58push a parked car . He asked if I was
1:00even trying , and I was trying with
1:01everything I had . That kept me up all
1:02night . I researched it at dawn and saw
1:04that it really is like that . Men have
1:05much more upper body strength , even the
1:07sedentary ones . The next day , I went to
1:09the gym and stared at the bar , thinking
1:11about all the hours I trained and how
1:12it suddenly didn't matter as much . But
1:14if he could hold me with one arm , how
1:15was I beating him at the table ? That
1:17night , I put it to the real test . I
1:18told him to give it his all . He made an
1:20effort face , grunted , but his arm
1:22didn't shake . Mine did ; I won , but I
1:23didn't dance . He waited and asked why I
1:25didn't dance . I went to the fridge to
1:27look at the scoreboard . 41 wins for me ,
1:2843 for him . He was always exactly two
1:30points ahead . Just enough for me to
1:32never suspect . I remembered that I won
1:34the day my boss yelled at me in front
1:35of everyone , the day my car was towed ,
1:37and the night I cried in the gym
1:38parking lot after failing a lift .
1:40Always on my worst days , he would lose
1:42and it was always him who said the sink
1:43was full . I turned to him and asked if
1:45he had been letting me win . He wouldn't
1:46look me in the eye , just kept cleaning
1:48the table that was already clean . I
1:49asked if it was all 41 times . He sighed
1:51, put down the cloth and said : " Do you
1:52do that little dance every time ? " I
1:53really like the little dance . Do you
1:55think it's right that he let her win ?
