0:00what's up guys trubinsky here i've just

0:02completed my mission to visit every

0:03country in the world and in this video

0:05i'm going to share with you an updated

0:07list of my top 10 favorite countries

0:10[Music]

0:14we're going to kick it off in reverse

0:15order with my 10th favorite country of

0:18turkey

0:20i've visited turkey many many times

0:22probably 10 times it is such a wonderful

0:24place because it's right where east

0:26meets west you have like europe european

0:28vibe european culture but also asia and

0:31asian life istanbul is literally the

0:33only city in the world that is split

0:35between two continents which is really

0:36cool you can take a little ferry across

0:38the bus for a sea and visit both sides

0:41of the city now what i love about turkey

0:43is you have incredible food so turkish

0:46food is

0:47internationally known for its kebabs

0:50there's a debate where the original

0:51kebab comes from but i like to say it's

0:53turkey because my favorite one is in

0:54turkey and they claim to it to be theirs

0:56and so you'll see the guys cooking it on

0:58a huge um little oven and they you know

1:01chop it off with a stick with the knife

1:03and it's just so delicious so food

1:05number one you have turkish delights you

1:07have turkish tea turkish coffee all

1:09kinds of delicious sweets all exist in

1:12turkey the country is a lot more than

1:14istanbul my favorite places are

1:16gaziantep which is a culinary capital

1:18antakia which is all the way down south

1:20by the turkish border there's a city

1:22called mardin which has this really cool

1:24fortress like an old ancient fortress in

1:26mesopotamia there's another city called

1:28diarbacco in the east it's where the

1:30kurdish people live it is known to have

1:32the biggest city walls in the world

1:34behind

1:35the great wall of china so it is really

1:36fascinating i love the vibe walking

1:38around the street everybody's so

1:40friendly saying hi it's just

1:42a really fascinating place you have

1:43beaches everywhere you have mountains

1:46you have snow um all kinds of different

1:48fascinating villages i visited a village

1:51in the north which speaks with whistles

1:53so they only have a whistle that they

1:55communicate with it's fascinating i met

1:57the world's tallest man who lives in

1:58turkey and there's a whole lot happening

2:00in that country and i hope you get the

2:02chance to visit we're gonna head into my

2:03ninth favorite country which is japan

2:06now japan is one of those countries

2:07that's high on everyone's list if

2:09they've never visited it's a fascinating

2:11place you have literally a culture that

2:14is 10 years ahead of the world in terms

2:16of technology innovation just think

2:18about it all the main electronics

2:20companies sony mitsubishi panasonic all

2:23of the car company toyota honda there's

2:26literally like the list goes on and

2:28they're all invented in japan so it's

2:30just really cool to see how innovative

2:31they are and when you go there you can

2:33really soak it in and feel the culture

2:35of japan and what makes it so unique

2:37from what i know is that japan has never

2:40been colonized and they're an island so

2:42they've been living this isolated world

2:44for so long and that's why they just did

2:46everything themselves so when you go

2:47there it's not like any of its neighbors

2:49it's not like anywhere else in the world

2:51you really enter a separate universe it

2:53sounds weird to explain but japan is

2:56just so freaking cool obviously the food

2:59you have sushi you have ramen you have

3:00delicious beer sapporo and when you walk

3:02into a restaurant you literally order on

3:05a screen and you sit down and it comes

3:07to you and yes a lot of the restaurants

3:09do have robots that serve you you have

3:11capsule hotels in japan you have

3:13roppongi which is a district of tokyo

3:15there's another area called shibuya

3:16crossing which is the most populated

3:18intersection in the world in tokyo and

3:20then if you get outside tokyo you have a

3:22beautiful city called kyoto which is zen

3:25temples buddhist it's really beautiful

3:27and osaka it's like a little tokyo and

3:30then i've yet to visit other parts of

3:31the country but i really want to go down

3:33uh to some of the islands okinawa and go

3:36up north so japan is a really

3:37fascinating place and i hope you get the

3:39chance to visit we're gonna move into

3:40number eight the czech republic i might

3:43be slightly biased because i lived and

3:44studied abroad there in 2012 it's where

3:46i got hooked on the travel bug and it's

3:48where this whole world started for me

3:50it's when i got introduced to new

3:51peoples cultures lifestyles cuisines and

3:53i traveled to 20 countries during that

3:55semester in europe so prague always has

3:58a special place in my heart but honestly

4:00i've been back to prague so many times

4:02since i left most recently a couple

4:04weeks ago where i got this tattoo it

4:06says 197. can you guys see that for all

4:08the countries in the world my final

4:10passport stamp you guys are actually the

4:11first ones to see that

4:13prague is a really beautiful city you

4:14have medieval churches old town square

4:17you have charles bridge one of the

4:18oldest bridges in the world you have

4:20this really fascinating culture where

4:21it's like eastern european vibes you

4:24know the culture the way the people act

4:26and i don't know it feels very different

4:27than western europe but they're

4:28open-minded and the economics of czech

4:31republic is very westernized so it's

4:33also right in the middle right in the

4:35crossroads and prague is awesome you can

4:37within a five-hour train ride you can

4:38get to budapest you can get to munich

4:40you can get to krakow dresden germany

4:42and or you can just fly around i i

4:44really love prague walking around the

4:46charming streets it's a small city so

4:48you can really get anywhere you need in

4:5030 minutes by foot or you can take the

4:51metro or the tram and there's so many

4:53cool underground bars like old ruined

4:55pubs from world war ii just a

4:57fascinating place beautiful castles

4:59everywhere beer gardens the czechs drink

5:01more beer per capita than anyone in the

5:03world so when you go there you can go

5:04hang out there's a place called regrow

5:06visay which is a very old beer garden

5:08with beautiful views of prague that i

5:10love and you have the voltava river that

5:12goes through i can go on and on and on

5:14but prague is just my happy place and

5:17and actually if you guys can see up here

5:20i have a picture of prague in my room in

5:22my office because that is where it all

5:24started for me and i always want to

5:26remember prague

5:28we're gonna move into my seventh

5:30favorite country which is mexico so it's

5:32funny as an american and there's this

5:35general feeling in this country that

5:37mexico is not nice maybe has dirty water

5:40maybe it's unsafe we've heard stories of

5:42americans going there on vacation and

5:44they never come home and so

5:46for one reason or another mexico has a

5:48bad reputation

5:49but i'm here to tell you that mexico is

5:51freaking amazing

5:52as soon as you get away from the beach

5:54town resorts cancun cabo tulum acapulco

5:59puerto vallarta those are all beach

6:00towns resort towns once you get inland

6:03you go to mexico city you go to oaxaca

6:05you go to chiapas which is a state in

6:07the south it is fascinating mexico is

6:10super diverse you have fantastic food

6:13very hospitable people i think some of

6:15the most in all of the world and mexico

6:17is cheap it's got just amazing

6:20culture architecture

6:22world wonders there's a place called

6:24teotihuacan which is these old mayan

6:27temples that's just north of mexico city

6:30and you can drive there you have

6:31obviously chichen itza in the yucatan

6:33province

6:34one of my favorite experiences in mexico

6:36was going into the the la condon jungle

6:38or the rain forest

6:40all the way down south by the guatemalan

6:42border and you i was literally hanging

6:44out with dudes that was like using a

6:45machete to cut branches off a tree and

6:48drinking water from it and they just

6:49live in the nature and and i don't know

6:51i i did a whole story on mexico's most

6:53remote tribe and they wear these white

6:55shirts and they're so peaceful and

6:57mexico is so huge it's one of the

6:59biggest countries in the world both in

7:00terms of size and population and there's

7:03a lot happening there also the beaches

7:04are nice i don't not saying to ignore

7:06them but if you get a chance go to

7:08mexico city go into some of these other

7:10places and and you will not regret it

7:12that takes us into my sixth favorite

7:13country which is namibia it's my

7:16favorite country on the entire african

7:18continent it's in the southwestern part

7:20bordering angola bordering south africa

7:23botswana it is a beautiful country it's

7:26one of the least populated countries in

7:28the entire world second only to mongolia

7:31there's only two million people living

7:32in a huge country most of it is desert

7:35and namibia is all about the beauty the

7:37natural beauty so i took a road trip for

7:39a few weeks went all around it's the

7:41only place in the world that i've seen

7:42beautiful sand dunes

7:44intersecting with ocean

7:46literally you're driving for miles and

7:48miles hours and hours and you're just

7:50seeing ocean waves crash on these

7:52beautiful sand dunes and i have a drone

7:54shot of that it's really beautiful you

7:55can go to a german town called swakapoom

7:58so namibia was colonized by germany for

8:00a while and they left over the beer and

8:02a lot of the pretzels and the cuisine

8:04and swakapoon is really interesting that

8:05people actually speak german i met a

8:07little girl there who speaks fluent

8:08german out of school cut to that clip

8:15the capital city of windhoek is just

8:17beautiful and peaceful they have this

8:18food called biltong which is like beef

8:20jerky but their own style everybody

8:22speaks english it's kind of like south

8:24africa it's really similar to south

8:25africa and at one point they were a

8:27country living together you have

8:29beautiful beautiful wildlife in the

8:32north there's a national park called

8:33etosha national park where you can see

8:35all the big five animals lions elephants

8:38zebras and it's just such a wonderful

8:41place and there's a another place inside

8:43of the desert called susley um they

8:45speak kind of like a a dutch language

8:48there and you have these like old

8:51trees that have somehow stayed in the

8:53middle of the desert and they have these

8:55really spooky looking um

8:57vines coming out of the ground that was

8:59a pretty cool place met some wonderful

9:01people there and and um i feel like

9:03maybe as a place i'll be back very soon

9:05my fifth favorite country is venezuela

9:08oh my god i

9:10didn't really know what to expect before

9:11i went there um about a year ago and i

9:14went during the pandemic and during the

9:16worst political and economical times of

9:18the country but it was awesome the

9:20people were so welcoming it's not even

9:22that dangerous i mean parts of caracas

9:24can be a little sketchy you know in

9:25pattade which is the one of the biggest

9:27slums in the world i went there you know

9:28you got to be careful where you go who

9:30you meet but once you get out of caracas

9:32it's totally normal

9:33yeah the money's really inflated like

9:36one dollar was two million bolivares

9:37when i was there now one dollar is like

9:39five million believe this and you can

9:41get like one bread for like five million

9:43believe this but forgetting about that

9:46they've adopted the dollar so it's not

9:47that big of a deal anymore you'll you'll

9:49have nothing but warm hospitality big

9:51smiles people inviting you into their

9:53house giving you a drink going on the

9:55beautiful caribbean coast nobody knows

9:57that venezuela actually has the longest

9:59coast in all the caribbean so you have

10:01so many beautiful little islands and

10:03crystal clear water coconuts there's a

10:06beautiful vibe down there and i

10:08absolutely loved it oh and i can't

10:10forget the cuisine they have arepas

10:12which is i don't know how to explain it

10:14it's like a corn

10:16meal corn flake crunchy outside and

10:19inside you have all these beautiful

10:20ingredients that just delicious pork

10:22cheese vegetables um empanadas are

10:25delicious and um

10:27i don't know venezuela really has this

10:29charm this vibe and i that is a country

10:32i will absolutely be back and i want you

10:34to know not to be scared to go there

10:36it's really a nice place and i can't say

10:38enough about venezuela number four we

10:41have lebanon located right in the middle

10:44east and i don't know beirut is like the

10:46most happening city

10:48best nightlife amazing vibes boardwalks

10:51on the mediterranean sea you have

10:53beautiful ancient roman ruins that

10:55aren't too far away it's called baalbek

10:57that place you can go up in the

10:59mountains people think that lebanon is a

11:01desert it's not a desert it's very green

11:03you have mountains it snows literally in

11:06the same day you can go snowboarding and

11:07go hang out on the beach and in

11:09beautiful weather in the same day

11:11going down south in lebanon there's all

11:13these beautiful little villages going

11:14east towards the border of syria more

11:16beautiful villages

11:18incredible food i like to

11:20group uh lebanese and syrian food

11:23together hummus falafel

11:26all the different kind of flavors and

11:28it's so fresh and of course lebanese

11:30people they're trilingual they speak

11:32french they speak arabic and english

11:34they're so outgoing and friendly and

11:36want to hang out go to the shisha bar go

11:39have fun a lot of people think it's a

11:41strict islamic country no it's islamic

11:43and christian

11:44about half and half and it's not a very

11:46religious or strict country and well

11:48depending on which areas you go to but

11:50uh if you go to beirut you will have an

11:52amazing time and i hope you get the

11:54chance to do it number three we have

11:56afghanistan i think if you've seen any

11:58of my content you know how much i love

12:00that country it has a special place in

12:02my heart and i'm devastated uh by the

12:04taliban takeover several months ago i

12:06went to afghanistan first three years

12:08ago spent a couple weeks there that trip

12:10and then i went back uh during kobe

12:12before taliban take over i went back for

12:14three weeks and so i've spent a little

12:15over a month in the country all together

12:17been to seven different provinces all

12:19over the place and i can talk on and on

12:21and on about afghanistan but the first

12:23thing i want to say is the people are

12:25the most absolute genuine hospitable

12:28people on this planet they will invite

12:30you into their house insist that you

12:32sleep on their bed and they will sleep

12:33on the floor i love that when you go

12:35there it feels like you've entered a

12:37time machine back hundreds of years the

12:38way they dress the way they hang out not

12:40many people are on their phone on their

12:42smartphones they just

12:44relax they hang out they drink tea when

12:46you walk through the market it's so

12:47traditional and the way they make ice

12:49cream they have these like buckets and

12:51they push with their hands these ice

12:52buckets to make ice cream alexander the

12:54great's former home is in headache in

12:56the west i went there with my friend

12:58thomas from yes theory and we had a

13:00wonderful time it's on the ancient silk

13:02road so you have all these ideas that

13:04have come by hundreds and hundreds of

13:05years ago and they still reflect in the

13:07culture today and i am just beyond

13:09obsessed with afghanistan kabul

13:12mazar shadif panshir mountains all these

13:15different places in the country kandahar

13:17in the south and

13:19amazing pomegranates oh my god the fruit

13:21how did i forget the best oranges

13:23pomegranates apples i've had in my

13:24entire life afghanistan is and will

13:27always be one of my favorite countries

13:29in this world i'm not going to recommend

13:30you to go there now because it's not

13:32safe but hopefully inshallah someday in

13:34the future it will be safe for everybody

13:36to visit that leads me into number two

13:38iran not surprisingly iran is located in

13:40the same region eurasia it's where

13:43europe meets asia same places where

13:45turkey is lebanon and afghanistan and

13:48iran is right in there my favorite

13:50region in the world um iran there's this

13:52misconception that iran is dangerous

13:54it's a terrorist country blah blah blah

13:56all this stuff is happening it's

13:57honestly one of the safest countries in

13:58the world there's

14:00nothing bad happy you walk around the

14:01streets in two in the morning and people

14:03are nice to you maybe it's because like

14:05america has a conflict politically with

14:07iran i don't know but all i want to say

14:09is that persian people are incredible

14:11just like afghans it's kind of like

14:13afghanistan but it's a little more

14:15modernized for lack of a better word

14:17walking around tehran you'll see more

14:19tall buildings more fancy coffee shops

14:22it's it's a little bit less traditional

14:24than afghanistan but um all the values

14:26the core values and the cuisine is

14:29similar and it's just fantastic going to

14:32persepolis which is this beautiful

14:34ancient two three thousand year old city

14:36it's the unesco world heritage site it's

14:38just outside of a city called shiraz you

14:40have a city called yazd which is a very

14:42religious city it's the birthplace of

14:43the zoroastrian religion

14:45terran obviously is beautiful lots of

14:47really cool buildings there ancient

14:49libraries and mosques my favorite place

14:51in iran is esfahan it's one of the

14:53biggest city squares in the world i

14:55think the second biggest behind only

14:56beijing yeah i don't know walking around

14:58iran meeting the people they're so

15:00friendly and they don't even hate

15:01america government is one thing people

15:03is another thing

15:04when you tell them about the u.s they're

15:06like oh my uncle lives there i want to

15:07visit and and i always have dreams to go

15:09there and

15:10persian people are so down to earth so

15:12friendly i've never had one bad

15:14experience in iran and i'm actually

15:15planning to go back in just a few months

15:17so stay tuned for that content and last

15:19but not least my favorite country in the

15:22world is the philippines now a lot of

15:25you guys know that i've been with deanna

15:27for six years but i want to let you know

15:29that i fell in love with her country

15:31years before i fell in love with her

15:33back to 2013 when i was teaching english

15:35in korea i went to the philippines

15:36several times i think i'd been four

15:38times before i met diana so i already

15:40loved the country i've spent two years

15:41of my life there still have a place in a

15:44condo in manila with the philippines i

15:46mean we're going to start off with over

15:477 100 islands

15:50a lot of them are untouched beauty

15:52private islands so there's never a place

15:54to run out there's always untouched

15:56beauty beaches everywhere filipinos

15:59always have this like

16:00happy face it doesn't matter if

16:02something bad happened if they had a

16:03family death or if they're having a

16:04really bad day or something they always

16:06will greet you with a smile and be

16:08respectful to you and that's what i

16:10really love about the philippines

16:11they've also adapted to so many

16:13different cultures around the world and

16:15that's why they can just fit anywhere

16:16it's like for example in korea they're

16:18very homogenous and they have one kind

16:19of mindset and one way of life i know

16:21that because i lived there for two years

16:22but the philippines is not like that

16:24they've adapted they've lived all over

16:26the world they've been around they have

16:27a lot of american influence from pop

16:29culture but they also can do things

16:31themselves and they have a cuisine that

16:34is not really internationally known like

16:35filipino restaurants are not commonly

16:37found but there's delicious food called

16:39sinigang and bulalo those are two

16:41soups like sour stews and then you have

16:44sisig which is like chopped up pork you

16:46have halo halo which is a delicious

16:47dessert there's all kinds of delicious

16:49filipino foods that i can go on and on

16:50so my favorite islands are shiregao

16:52bahal

16:53sikihor which is really beautiful and

16:55then going down south you can find

16:57ramblan you can find zamboanga which is

16:59actually a really cool city and then of

17:01course in manila you have beautiful

17:02places just down south of there called

17:04batangas in the north you have a place

17:06called batanes which is like new zealand

17:08philippines is very affordable it's

17:10something for everyone people speak

17:12english so you never have a language

17:13barrier and just everywhere you go in

17:15the philippines you will have a huge

17:16smile on your face because you'll know

17:18that you're welcome you'll know that

17:19it's safe it's beautiful amazing culture

17:23and you're just surrounded by love and

17:24happiness and that is the philippines in
