Aion 2 Global: New Player Guide — Do THESE Things First

0:16complete beginner? How do I start? What

0:19should I focus on? And if any of these

0:25advices, you will understand how to

0:28speed up your leveling process, avoid

0:30some common time-consuming mistakes, and

0:32maybe even skip some inefficient early

0:35end-game grind to get ahead of most

0:37people who don't even know about it. But

2:51Okay, so the first thing we're going to

2:52focus on is, of course, getting to level

2:5545 on our first character. Supposedly,

2:58this is our main, but if you are worried

3:01about, "What if I choose a class and

3:03then I end up not liking it or

3:05whatever?" Don't really worry about it

3:07because in the first couple of weeks of

3:08playing the game, main swapping will be

3:11possible. I'm not talking about some

3:13kind of magical main swap ticket or

3:15anything. I'm just saying that you will

3:17be able to just make another character

3:19and just make that character your new

3:21main by investing more resources in it.

3:24Because during the first couple of weeks

3:25of playing the game, at least the first

3:27week for sure, you're not really doing

3:29anything that strongly commits you to

3:31your first chosen character. And if you

3:34are serious about this game, you will

3:36have at least a couple of characters and

3:38uh the the ones that are not your main

3:39are obviously going to be your alts. So,

3:41don't worry about that. Just push the

3:43characters to level 45. And how do you

3:46get to level 45 in the most efficient

3:49way? Now, first of all, how long does it

3:52even take? There are videos on YouTube

3:54that basically show you a speedrun

3:57leveling from 1 to 45, and the fastest

4:00I've seen so far were like 3 hours, 20

4:02minutes, or something like that.

4:04Obviously, as someone who is not a

4:07Taiwan or Korea veteran, and you have no

4:10idea what to do, you won't be able to do

4:12it that fast. Uh the realistic

4:14expectation that I would probably have

4:16for an average player would be somewhere

4:19between 5 to 10 hours, depending on how

4:22much preparation you've done, depending

4:24on how much guides you've watched, and

4:27how how well aware you are of what you

4:29need to do. But, that's why you're

4:32watching this guide, right? So, how do

4:34you get to level 45 in the most

4:36efficient manner? The main thing that

4:38we're going to be focusing on is the

4:40MSQ. These quests are displayed in

4:43yellow. They're always going to be at

4:45the top of your quest list, and they

4:47also have this level recommendation in

4:50the brackets. This is not a level

4:52requirement. You will often see that you

4:54are doing quests that show a higher

4:56level than than what your level actually

4:59is. That's all right. You can still do

5:01it. The only thing that sometimes is

5:03going to stop you is this ascension

5:05gauge. This one right here. As you're

5:08leveling, it will be filling up multiple

5:11times, and then dropping down for

5:13another round of uh you know, having to

5:15fill it up. Sometimes, you will end up

5:18in a situation where, in order to do the

5:20next MSQ, you need to complete this

5:23ascension sequence, and your gauge is

5:25going to be stuck at like 85%, 80%, or

5:2890%, something like that. In that case,

5:31what you want to do is you need to do

5:34some of the side activities, the side

5:36horizontal activities, the quests, the

5:39side quests, which are going to be

5:40displayed with these icons with this

5:42color. Then, you have also the sealed

5:46dungeons, which are going to be

5:47displayed as question marks before you

5:50actually discover them, but after you

5:53discover them, they're going to be

5:54displayed with these circles, and then

5:57also strongholds.

5:59The strongholds are going to be

6:00displayed with a little fire icon or

6:04fireplace icon. Every time you do one of

6:07these side activities, your gauge is

6:10going to go up. So, if you see a wall in

6:14front of yourself, right? If you see

6:15that your Ascension gauge is at like not

6:18100% and you need it to be at 100% for

6:21the next MSQ, that's how you get there.

6:24Now, what do you also get for doing

6:27these side quests and these horizontal

6:30activities? You get a lot of Devanian

6:33board crystals, and these are the points

6:37that you will need in order to level up

6:39these boards, which give you a lot of

6:41stats and also gear score. These are

6:43extremely important. You want to max

6:45them out as soon as possible. However,

6:48you actually don't want to go for these

6:51side activities too early. And the only

6:55time when you should be doing them on

6:57your way to level 45 is when you

7:00actually face these walls, right? As

7:03long as you're not facing a wall of the

7:06Ascension meter, you should only be

7:08doing the MSQ. And also, on your way, as

7:12you're doing your MSQ, obviously some of

7:15these quests are going to be closer to

7:18you, right? Because the MSQ, it starts

7:20somewhere in this area for Eorzeas,

7:21right? And then it's going to send you

7:24on a certain path, right? You're going

7:25to go like here or here or whatever.

7:27It's going to send you to all of these

7:29different places, and some of these

7:31places, there will be sealed dungeons

7:33nearby, there will be strongholds

7:35nearby, and there will be

7:37the side quests nearby. If you see

7:40something that is naturally on your way,

7:43you can actually stray away a little bit

7:46and do that because you will need to do

7:49them anyway. You will need to do a

7:50couple of side quests, a couple of

7:52strongholds, a couple of sealed dungeons

7:54anyway for the Ascension meter walls.

7:56And so, even if you are still on your

7:59way of doing MSQ, but you see one of

8:01these types of content that is naturally

8:04just popping up, you can actually do

8:07those. The same goes also for the

8:09feathers, right? If you see some

8:11feathers nearby, you can definitely grab

8:14those, but the rule is that you should

8:16not be trying to go out of your way to

8:19do any of it until you hit level 45. And

8:22the reason why is because that's how you

8:25hit level 45 the fastest because MSQ

8:27gives the most amount of experience. And

8:30when you hit level 45, you are actually

8:33stronger, and despite the fact that the

8:35mobs and the the world dynamically

8:38scales with your level up as well. So,

8:41when you hit level 45, the monsters also

8:44become stronger, you actually kind of

8:47out-scale that growth. And when you're

8:49level 45, you are going to be doing more

8:51damage to these monsters, and it's going

8:53to take you generally less time to

8:56complete all of these quests, all of

8:57these strongholds, all of these sealed

8:59dungeons. And even when it comes to the

9:01feathers, because these ones don't

9:02involve any fighting necessarily, but

9:05even for these feathers, you are going

9:08to be unlocking better wings as you are

9:10leveling up. And you're also going to be

9:12getting naturally from the game some of

9:15these bottles with the flight power

9:18restoration potions. And what these are

9:21is basically when you fly in this game,

9:23you see the gauge draining slowly. So,

9:26if you're trying to do all of these

9:28feathers way too early, you don't have

9:31any of these bottles, your wings are

9:33like the the the first tier wings, you

9:36are going to waste a lot of time waiting

9:38on your flight power to just recharge,

9:41right? So, that's again the reason why

9:43you want to actually go ahead and start

9:46vacuuming the entire map only after you

9:49hit level 45. Also, don't forget about

9:52the fact that the strongholds and the

9:54sealed dungeons are also available on

9:57the opposite faction side of the map.

10:00So, you will be looking for these

10:01space-time rifts. They are the the spawn

10:05times

10:06for global yet. We will see when the

10:08game comes out, but they should be

10:10spawning every 3 hours and going through

10:14a space-time rift will allow you to stay

10:16on the opposite faction side of the map

10:18for 1 hour. And that will be enough to

10:22do some of the strongholds and sealed

10:23dungeons, but that's not going to be

10:25enough to do all of them in one

10:27iteration. So, you will need to take at

10:30least a couple of these space rifts in

10:33order to complete all of the strongholds

10:35and sealed dungeons on the opposite side

10:37of the map. Again, reminder, it is very

10:39important to do it eventually when you

10:41hit level 45 because they give you a lot

10:44of these Devonian board points, and

10:47these equal to strength and CP or item

10:51level or whatever you want to call it.

10:52The next important thing is going to be

10:54your gear and enhancing your gear. As

10:57you're leveling up from 1 to 45, you are

11:00going to be receiving a bunch of

11:02different gear, and you're constantly

11:04going to have to replace your old gear

11:06with the new gear, etc. You also unlock

11:08the enhancement system very early on, so

11:11you can you can technically enhance your

11:13gear, your green gear, then you're going

11:16to move up to the blue tier of gear, but

11:20here is my recommendation. Do not

11:23enhance your armors almost at all. Only

11:26do it in case if you just you're trying

11:28to do some boss in the MSQ and you

11:30you're you're just keep dying, you can't

11:32do it. Other than that, do not enhance

11:35your armors at all. And with your

11:37weapon, go for plus five. Just go for

11:40plus five, it's a sweet spot. The green

11:42gear plus five is the maximum upgrade

11:45level. For the blue gear, the maximum

11:47upgrade level is 10, but don't try to go

11:50even to plus 10. Just stay at plus five.

11:53The thing is that when you're upgrading,

11:55you're using two materials, the

11:57enhancement stones and you're uh also

12:00using your Kina. When you are going to

12:02be replacing your gear, if you dismantle

12:05the previous piece of gear that's let's

12:07say plus five or whatever plus it is, if

12:10you dismantle it, you will get some of

12:12your enhancement stones back, but you

12:14will not get your Kina back. And that is

12:18really, really bad. There's also simply

12:20no reason to enhance your gear

12:22aggressively because leveling is easy

12:25and nothing is going to be really

12:27challenging for you even if you don't

12:28upgrade your gear. Now, when it comes to

12:30something that you actually can upgrade,

12:33it is going to be the belt and the

12:36amulet. Now, here is how it works. You

12:39will receive from one of the MSQs, you

12:42will receive the amulet and then from

12:44one of the other MSQs, you will receive

12:47the belt. The items are called noble

12:49belt and revelation amulet. You will

12:53receive the green versions of these

12:56initially. It's going to look like this,

12:58right? So, this is the belt that you're

13:00going to be receiving and this is the

13:02amulet that you're going to be

13:03receiving. Now, these are actually

13:06recraftable or upgradeable into higher

13:09tiers. If you get your amulet or belt to

13:12plus 10 on the green level or on the

13:15green rarity, you can upgrade or recraft

13:17it into the same noble belt, right? But

13:21the blue rarity now. And if you upgrade

13:24the blue noble belt to plus 10, you will

13:26be able to upgrade it to the yellow

13:29quality. So, if you want to enhance

13:31something,

13:33you can go for these, right? Just focus

13:35on your belt and amulet because you will

13:37have to do that anyway, and these items

13:39will be staying with you for a long,

13:41long time. And this is also another kind

13:44of like advice that I have for you guys

13:45because this is a mistake that I've made

13:47on my other character on this Taiwan

13:50account. Do not get rid of these at all,

13:54right? be green, and you will be

13:57dismantling so much gear,

13:59so much green gear, so much blue gear

14:01that you might just like kind of fall

14:03into this habit of dismantling every

14:05piece of green or blue gear that you

14:07get. Do not get rid of these. Do not

14:09sell them. Do not dismantle them. You

14:12need to upgrade them, and there is no

14:14other known way in the game to get them

14:17other than those two quests. So, if you

14:20dismantle these or get rid of these in

14:22any way, you will probably have to just

14:25submit a support ticket and ask the

14:28moderation team or whoever to recover

14:31these items for you. Now, when you

14:33actually hit level 45, you will get a

14:37yellow piece of weapon. It's not going

14:38to be this one. This one is different,

14:40but on global, you will get a yellow

14:43weapon. And that one is the one that you

14:46can actually push to plus 10. Don't try

14:49to go above plus 10 on it because when

14:52it hits plus 10, it actually has a

14:55chance to fail the enhancement. It's not

14:58going to break your item or anything,

15:00but it is going to waste your resources,

15:04enhancement stones, and kinah if you try

15:06to upgrade and it fails. And it is

15:08actually pretty expensive at these

15:10levels, right? So, it's it's absolutely

15:13not recommended to do. Just keep it at

15:15plus 10. And after you hit level 45, you

15:18need to go back and actually do all of

15:21the horizontal content. Get all of the

15:23feathers, grab all of these feathers,

15:26right? Do all of the strongholds, all of

15:28the sealed dungeons, do all of them on

15:31the opposite side of the map as well, on

15:33the opposite faction. Get all of these

15:35Deva'nian crystals, pump your Deva'nian

15:38board up, and you will receive a lot of

15:41power and a lot of gear score by doing

15:44this. Now, if you do everything

15:46correctly and you do everything

15:48discussed in this video so far,

15:51with the numbers that we expect to see

15:53on the global release of the game, you

15:56should be able to skip the level one or

15:59the one star dungeons in the conquest

16:03mode and move on immediately all the way

16:06into the two star dungeons. Now, ideally

16:10you do want to do this because the two

16:13star dungeon rewards are better than the

16:15one star and the Odell energy is

16:17limited. However, it is going to depend

16:20on how you play, how much you play, etc.

16:23Check if you can skip them actually and

16:26the point is that you never want your

16:29Odell energy to max out. You want to

16:32always have some room for it to

16:34regenerate and you don't want to be

16:37maxed out on it. So, if you can reach

16:39the item level required for the two star

16:42dungeons before your Odell energy caps

16:45out, you can actually do that. But, if

16:47you're playing slower and it takes you

16:49longer to increase your item level, if

16:52you are about to cap out on your Odell

16:54energy, you need to still do the one

16:56star dungeons of course because that is

16:59better than nothing. As for the rewards

17:01that are unique and tied to these two

17:05level one dungeons or one star dungeons,

17:07I'm talking specifically about the wings

17:10and the paintings, right? For your

17:13Pantheon. You can get these from the

17:16auction house and you can also just

17:18later on run your alts through these

17:21dungeons, and you will be able to get

17:23these rewards, and they are tradeable.

17:26You can just transfer them from your alt

17:28to your main. But again, if you want to

17:30speed up your main's progression, and

17:32you should be able to skip the two uh

17:34level one dungeons, you should try and

17:37go for the two-star dungeons

17:39immediately. Now, with this, it's the

17:41perfect time to talk about alts.

17:44Somewhere on this way, right? Somewhere

17:46during this process of you hitting level

17:4845 and vacuuming the horizontal

17:51activities off the map, you want to make

17:54your alts. Uh however many alts you're

17:56planning to play, whether it's just

17:58extra one character or two characters or

18:00three characters or four characters, you

18:02want to create them. And the first thing

18:05that you want to do is you want to keep

18:07leveling them up to the point I believe

18:10it's around level 22 or something. I

18:13will confirm that and edit it in

18:15somewhere. But you need to put them at

18:17at least the point in MSQ where you

18:20unlock your first expedition dungeon.

18:23Oops, it is this one, right? You will

18:25unlock your It's It says level 20, so it

18:27should be somewhere around level 20,

18:30maybe level 22. I think for some reason

18:32I'm thinking of level 22. Yeah, you can

18:34see a lot of these people are like 22,

18:3623, 24. You need to put your alts at

18:39least on this level, at least at this

18:43point in MSQ, because when you unlock

18:45this and when you're able to enter the

18:48dungeon, you don't need to actually do

18:50it, but you will unlock the Odal energy

18:54on that character, and it will start

18:57regenerating. So that is definitely

18:59something that you want to do on each of

19:01your alts, preferably as as early as

19:04possible, right? And of course, since

19:07most of the important activities that

19:09give you meaningful rewards unlock at

19:12level 45, you actually want to push your

19:14alts to level 45 as well. It's just that

19:17this part is going to be the priority,

19:20right? Put all of your alts at this

19:22point at MSQ at least in order to unlock

19:24the Odell energy, and after that, take

19:27care of their levels one by one, bring

19:30them all the way to 45 as well. And on

19:33the characters that are level 45,

19:35whether that's your main only or your

19:38main and some alts as well, you want to

19:40actually start doing the end game or the

19:44introductory end game content. All of

19:46these activities that unlock at level

19:4745, nightmare, ascension trials, daily

19:51dungeon, you actually want to start

19:53doing them. For the daily dungeon, so

19:56what is this? I'm pretty sure not all of

19:59these are going to be available in the

20:01global launch, but the most important

20:03one is this one that gives you

20:06enhancement stones. It's called Deva Bio

20:09Research Base. You need to focus on this

20:12thing right here. And I'm also pretty

20:14sure you can enter these earlier than

20:1745, right? So you can do that even

20:19earlier, I guess. But you need to focus

20:21on the one that gives you enhancement

20:23stones. As for the ascension trial, this

20:26is going to be my recommendation for you

20:29guys to try and maximize your rewards.

20:32So you see how this game mode has the

20:34different difficulties, right? And each

20:36difficulty increases the item level.

20:39It's not recommended it's actually

20:40necessary to enter. If you don't have

20:42the item level, you cannot enter. So,

20:44how do you approach this? Don't rush

20:47doing these because you only get three

20:48attempts weekly. Don't rush doing these

20:51as soon as you unlock them. Try to save

20:54up your attempts towards the end of the

20:56weekly reset, and whichever item level

21:00cut off that you will be able to achieve

21:02by the end of that week, do it on the

21:04last day, so you are maximizing your

21:07chances of maybe you reach 1,500, maybe

21:10you reach 2,000, whatever on that

21:12specific week, and then you will be able

21:15to get more rewards by doing these

21:17higher levels, right? Don't rush doing

21:20them immediately. Actually, save these

21:23up until the end of the week and do it

21:26somewhere on the last day or something.

21:28It's up to you, of course, but that's

21:30how you try to maximize these rewards.

21:32And this is where I'm going to stop for

21:38not something that you will be able to

21:40do in like one or two days. It will

21:42actually take you a long time to
