0:00In my first month selling on Shopee , I
0:02made a little over R $ 500 , and today ,
0:047 months later , I've already made over
0:06R $ 21,000 . So , was it worth it ? Guys ,
0:10in this video I'm going to be real with
0:12you , because not everything is perfect ,
0:13right ? It’s not just about coming
0:15here to show numbers , especially
0:17knowing that those numbers aren't what
0:18I actually took home . What we actually
0:21get is much less than that . Revenue is
0:23not profit , just so we can make that
0:24distinction here . But honestly , the
0:27fact that you can be in the comfort of
0:29your own home , selling online , like ,
0:31you know , working for yourself , that is
0:33amazing . So I’m going to tell you
0:37about my progress , you know , over these
0:397 months , how much I made each month ,
0:41what changed for me , and mainly , which
0:43is the theme of the video , if it’s
0:45worth selling on Shopee . When I started
0:48on Shopee , I didn't exactly know what I
0:50was doing . Before , I sold crafts that I
0:53produced myself , but when I started
0:55buying products to resell , my first
0:57order was , like , almost a failure , you
0:59know ? If it weren't for one product in
1:02the middle of it all , which is a
1:04product I still sell to this day , right
1:06? But the others , there are things just
1:08sitting there that I already showed you
1:10in a video I'll leave in the cards here
1:12, which were products I bought and
1:13didn't sell . So I made a lot of
1:16mistakes , especially at the beginning ,
1:18because it was a phase where I wanted
1:20to sell quickly , but without knowing
1:22how , you know ? So I shot in all
1:25directions , looked for products from
1:27suppliers I didn't even know were
1:29reliable . So I did make those little
1:31mistakes , and over time we realize ,
1:33right , that everything must be done
1:35with patience and caution . And there
1:37are some people who ask me if I took a
1:39course , if I did any mentoring . And no ,
1:41guys , everything I learned on Shopee
1:44was by watching here on YouTube , and
1:46some things I learned by just digging
1:48around , you know ? That kind of thing
1:51you really learn in practice . The
1:53creative part , guys , it has to come
1:56from us , right ? We can't leave that in
1:58someone else's hands . So , in the
2:01beginning , I really didn't know much
2:04what to do , despite researching . I
2:06always researched a lot here on the
2:08internet on how to do it , right ? And
2:10sometimes I still felt lost . It felt
2:13like I needed someone by my side to
2:15hold my hand and say : " Look , click here
2:17, go there , put this photo here , edit
2:20it this way . " So yeah , there was no way
2:22. And so I kept tinkering , kept digging
2:25, I made bad ads , I made ads where the
2:27photo wasn't good , but we learn that
2:29over time . But anyway , in the first
2:31month , guys , I made — I'll put it on
2:33the screen for you — but in the first
2:35month I made 561.57 . And most of these
2:41orders here , I always say , came from
2:42live streams . I did lives , so I didn't
2:46use ADS here in that first month , I
2:47didn't use any paid advertising . And I
2:51sold this much . I think it was already
2:53a good number , because it was my first
2:54month , right guys , selling things I
2:55didn't even know how to sell yet . Then
2:57when it was the second month , which was
2:59the month of March , I already raised
3:01the revenue here to 3,703.26 . It was an
3:05absurd growth , you know , compared to
3:07the first month . And I was very happy .
3:10I understood that if I put in the
3:12effort , it could actually work out down
3:14the road . And it was all that effort
3:17over that time that made me reach this
3:1921,001 of today , right , of August . And
3:22then in the month of April , revenue
3:24went up even more , it went to 6,774.59 .
3:29It was also a really cool growth . I was
3:32very happy with that . Month of May ,
3:35guys , yeah , it was there , I think it
3:37was that part where the ADS changed . I
3:39don't remember very well , but something
3:41happened here . I don't know if it was
3:43an issue with orders . I think it
3:45involved a lot of things . I had a
3:48problem with a supplier , I had a
3:49problem with orders here , because there
3:51was a day that sold a lot , I didn't
3:53have any to send and I needed to pause
3:55the ad and then when we turn the ad
3:57back on , it seems like it doesn't
3:59return with the same performance as
4:01before . So something happened here , but
4:04the revenue stayed at 733.77 . And then
4:09in the month of June , in the month of
4:11June I already made 10,991.52 , 19912 ,
4:16guys , and with 561 orders . When it was
4:21the month of July , in the month of July
4:24it went up , guys . Like , I liked it a
4:26lot , I liked the month of July a lot .
4:30Some people said that the month of July
4:32was very quiet and such , but I felt it
4:34was a very busy month , you know ? There
4:37wasn't a day there that I didn't make a
4:39sale . And that was 17,309.96 . A pretty
4:46nice growth as well . And for the month
4:48of August , which is this month , right ,
4:50which actually hasn't ended yet because
4:53it's 7 a.m. and today is the 31st , so
4:55there's still the rest of the day
4:57before I do the final tally . But for
5:00the month of August , it's already at
5:0221,379.35 . And I repeat that this
5:07number here is not what I actually
5:09received , okay ? Later I'll do the final
5:11tally and tell you guys how much it was
5:12. But the last time I spoke to you , I
5:14had reached 15,000 in revenue . And I
5:18had invoiced a little over 15,000 , and
5:20the month hadn't closed yet . It was
5:23that month with 17 , right ? I don't know
5:25. But out of that 15,000 , about 3,500
5:28was profit . So , for you to see , right ,
5:32what the reality is actually like , it's
5:34not as pretty as that 21 figure , right ?
5:38It will probably be a little over 4,000
5:40or something like that , I don't know .
5:43But that is the reality . Some people
5:47think : " Oh , it's not worth selling on
5:49Shopee because the fees are high , I
5:51won't make a profit , etc. " But guys , I
5:53think it's a good amount for those
5:54working from home , right ? Especially
5:57for those just starting out , I can't
5:59expect to sell 100,000 right now at the
6:01beginning . I haven't even had the shop
6:03for a year , you know ? There are people
6:06who have been selling for years and
6:08years , and only then do they manage ,
6:10with all the experience and a more
6:12structured store , to get better revenue
6:14and consequently higher profit as well .
6:17But for those who are starting , I think
6:20this is already a pretty cool , very
6:22interesting number . And this growth
6:24that I'm showing you , it didn't happen
6:26overnight , guys . It was a process , it
6:29was building this shop . And in the
6:32beginning , like I told you , I didn't
6:33know anything . And even without knowing
6:35anything , like , I just went for it , man
6:37, I wanted to do lives , I wanted to
6:38test everything . I did Shopee Video at
6:40the beginning . Shopee Video helped me a
6:43little bit , but what really made my
6:45shop start selling were the lives . And
6:49sometimes people would join the live
6:50just to talk to me , and through that
6:52conversation , the person would buy
6:53something . So , I think it's really
6:56worth it for you who are just starting
6:58out , and this is advice from someone
7:00who’s been through it , to also do
7:01live streams showing your products . So
7:04that helped me a lot . And I also tested
7:07a lot of things , right ? I tested
7:09products that I don't even sell anymore
7:11, things I could turn into kits here , I
7:14did , and some things didn't sell either
7:16. So that’s all part of the life of
7:18an entrepreneur , right ? We’re going
7:20to get things right , but we’re also
7:21going to make mistakes . Sometimes
7:22we’ll make more mistakes than we get
7:23things right . And the important thing
7:25is to stay firm and not give up during
7:27the process . But then I’ll tell you
7:28guys , right ? If you came to this video
7:30just by looking at the title and the
7:32thumbnail , don't be fooled , people . As
7:34I've already stated and say again ,
7:36revenue is not profit . Revenue is one
7:39thing , profit is something else
7:40entirely different . So , for those of
7:42you starting out , you have to begin by
7:43thinking : " Look , I'll sell this product
7:45for this much , but I'll only get this
7:47much in profit , so I need to see if
7:49it's worth it . " And it's also about
7:51trying to negotiate with the supplier ,
7:52which was another thing I didn't even
7:53do at the beginning . I just went ahead
7:56and bought at the price they gave me ,
7:57didn't ask for a discount , didn't ask
7:59about purchase terms , anyway , people , I
8:01just bought . And one thing that changed
8:04a lot in these months that I've been
8:06selling on Shopee , looking for products
8:08to sell , was my perspective on products
8:10, right ? When I look at a catalog , for
8:12example , from a supplier , I don't look
8:14with my own eyes , right ? Let's put it
8:16this way , it's even a bit strange to
8:18say , but I look with the eyes of
8:20someone buying something , so I jump in
8:22there as if I were a customer , you know
8:24? Oh , I don't know , I'm needing
8:27something for my kitchen , what would I
8:29buy here for decoration , utility ,
8:31anyway , what would I buy ? And not just
8:35that , right ? It's not just about
8:36looking and imagining yourself as a
8:39buyer or customer there , but also
8:41researching on the platform itself
8:43where you want to sell if that item
8:46sells , how much it's selling for , you
8:48know ? Whether your competitors are
8:50setting a price where you can actually
8:52compete with them . And finally ,
8:54answering the question of the video ,
8:56right ? So , was it worth it during these
8:587 months ? I can tell you all that yes ,
9:01guys . And it was really worth it . Uh ,
9:03like I said , I work from home , right ? I
9:06work here in the comfort of my own home
9:07. I don't need to have a fixed schedule
9:10every day . If I need to take care of
9:12something , ah , I go out and do it . So ,
9:14yeah , it's really good to have this
9:17freedom , right , of being able to set
9:20our own hours . For example , I wake up
9:23here at 6:00 in the morning and start
9:25working right away , but if I wanted to
9:27wake up at 8:00 , I could , as long as I
9:29get all my tasks done , right ? So we
9:32create our own routine , and it's not
9:35with the illusion that , oh , I won't
9:37need to work hard . On the contrary ,
9:39sometimes you end up working more than
9:41if you were working somewhere else .
9:44Because when we work from home , it
9:46feels like every room we go into is a
9:48workspace . Oh , I'm in the living room ,
9:50I need to work ; I'm in the bedroom , I
9:52have to work ; I'm in the kitchen , wait ,
9:53I need to do that , I need to check the
9:55inventory . So , yeah , our mind never
9:58really leaves work . But that's it , guys
10:01. I think it was very worth it , like ,
10:03the amount I receive is small , as you
10:06saw , but I don't spend it on myself yet
10:08. I tell you that I take the bare
10:11minimum I can to reinvest it here ,
10:13buying new products , I mean , everything
10:16I can to improve my shop , I'm doing .
10:18And when I was younger , guys , it's
10:20funny because I've tried doing so many
10:22things on the internet ; I don't know if
10:24you've seen them , but there are sites
10:26where you answer surveys and think
10:27you'll earn a little money for it . I
10:29never earned anything , but I tried , you
10:31know , to do those things . Whenever I
10:33saw an ad talking about some service ,
10:34eh , I even tried selling on Hotmart too
10:36, through Hotmart , right ? I think I
10:38created an Instagram page and started
10:41posting , but I never had any results
10:43either . Of course , if I had dedicated
10:45myself , tried harder , and sought to
10:47learn more , I would have succeeded , but
10:49I kept jumping from one thing to
10:51another and didn't stick to anything .
10:54And now , uh , that I'm working with
10:56online sales , I realize that during
10:58these 7 months I've learned a lot , and
11:00today I know much more about sales than
11:02I did back in the beginning . So , never
11:06wait until you know everything or feel
11:08super prepared to start something new ,
11:11because in fact , we'll never be 100 %
11:13prepared . We sort of have to start in
11:18order to get prepared , right ? It’s
11:21crazy , isn't it ? I learned over time
11:23and as I kept practicing as well . And
11:25taking this moment here , guys , to tell
11:27you about our membership club , okay ?
11:29Those who are members here have access
11:31to our WhatsApp group , where I am every
11:34day answering your questions . And more
11:36than just talking to me , right , you can
11:38also talk to other members who are on
11:40the same path as you , some people
11:42starting now or others who have been
11:44selling for a while . So , you can
11:46exchange experiences and it’s a
11:47really cool and safe environment for us
11:49to talk about this , right ? And for
11:52those who become members , just get in
11:53touch with me here on this Instagram
11:55and I’ll let you know exactly how it
11:57works , okay ? For those of you starting
12:00to sell on Shopee or any other
12:01marketplace , guys , I’ll tell you
12:03something that I think I should have
12:05heard from someone in the beginning ,
12:07which is not to compare yourself , okay ?
12:11In the beginning , I kept asking myself :
12:13" Man , that person there sells all this
12:15in a day , why am I only selling this
12:17much ? " Or else , why am I not selling
12:18anything ? And you know , every process
12:21is different . Sometimes the person
12:22carries some baggage , right ? They know
12:24someone who has sold online , so they
12:27have prior knowledge of what it is to
12:30sell , of how to make a good ad . And if
12:32you're just starting , maybe you don't
12:34have that yet . And even if you do ,
12:36right , the products are different , the
12:38store is different , customers have
12:40different behaviors . So , just do your
12:42own thing and over time you’ll see
12:45that things will indeed get better ,
12:47provided you do a good job . So guys ,
12:49that was the video . I really hope you
12:51liked it . A kiss , take care . And see
12:53you in the next one .
