0:20Ladies and gentlemen, blessed by Allah SWT
0:23Today, we will learn one of Surah in Juz'amma
0:29It is Surah Al Humazah
0:33Allah SWT opens this Surah with
0:39<i>Woe to every scorner and mocker</i>
0:45There are only two Surah in the Quran starting with وَيْلٌ <i>Woe</i>
0:50They are Surah Al Muthaffifiin and Surah Al Humazah
0:56As for وَيْلٌ لِلْمُطَفِّفِينَ it means
1:00<i>Woe to those who give less [than due]</i>
1:04When he sells to others
1:07This relates to people who take and reduce people's rights
1:13He should have filled the scales but he reduced them
1:17Since this is related to the rights of others, God says وَيْلٌ <i>Woe</i>
1:21We know that there are two models of sins
1:24The one related to oneself
1:26Like adultery, leaving prayers
1:32No willing to worship, to fasting
1:35There are sins related to other people
1:37Sin related to others is more dangerous
1:40Sin which is related to us is Basically Allah the Most Forgiving
1:45If our sins are related to others they will sue us on the Day of Judgment
1:50Therefore Sofyan Ats Tsauri once said
2:02<i>You seeing Allah with 70 sins</i>
2:06<i>between you and Allah is still lighter</i>
2:08<i>Instead of you meeting Allah with one sin but from doing wrong to people</i>
2:12It is related to other people's rights
2:14Imam Shafi'i once said
2:21<i>The worst provision for the Day of Judgment is</i>
2:24<i>doing wrong to other servants of Allah</i>
2:27There are only two Surahs in the Quran that start with Woe
2:32The first, Al Muthaffifiin
2:34related to people who do wrong to others in terms of other people's property
2:39The second is what we will discuss,
2:44Which means, <i>Woe to every scorner and mocker</i>
2:48This is also related to others' rights but to other people's self-esteem
2:53We must not do wrong to others, whether to their blood, wealth, and pride
3:01In the hadith, the Apostle ﷺ said
3:09<i>Verily your blood, is sacred and inviolable</i>
3:13<i>So as your property</i>
3:18<i>so as your pride</i>
3:22As we should not do wrong to other people both physically and on their property
3:27Nor should we do wrong to others in terms of their self-esteem
3:31Surah Al Humazah
3:34is related to doing wrong to others in terms of self-esteem
3:38Those who هُمَزَةٍ لُّمَزَةٍۙ scorn and mock
3:44There are differences of opinion among the scholars
3:47What is the difference between هُمَزَةٍ {humazah} and لُّمَزَةٍۙ {lumazah}?
3:50Some say humazah is denouncing the dignity of others
3:56when the other person is not in his presence
3:59For example, talking bad about other persons
4:01As for the lumazah is to scorni others in front of him
4:05<i>You jerk, you're low.</i> That's a normal name
4:08Humazah, for example, talking bad about others, belittling their honor
4:12Write about them but not in front of them
4:14This is one of the opinions of some scholars
4:16Some scholars say, humazah is related to
4:23Scorning others with a glance at the eye
4:27By sneering, by mouth, by body gesture, etc.
4:32But lumazah is doing it directly with his tongue
4:35Lumazah is doing it with words directly
4:37The point is all scorns, insults, mocks
4:41are not allowed
4:43If you have things that make you more than others
4:46It does not mean that you have to put down others
4:49Therefore, people who are often lumazah and humazah
4:52Often scorn, demean, insult
4:54Usually this person is arrogant
4:56Because he won't be like that unless he feels important
5:01So, he often condescend others
5:03But if he doesn't feel important, realizing that he has flaws
5:06It is not easy for him to scorn others
5:08He also knows that he violates the law frequently
5:11But if he feels important, great,
5:13Then it's easy for him to pout, to insult others
5:17That is humazah and lumazah
5:21The Apostle ﷺ said
5:25<i>Arrogance rejects the truth</i>
5:29وَغَمْطُ النَّاسِ <i>And demean others.</i>
5:32So in the hadith, the Apostle ﷺ said
5:38<i>A Muslim is a Muslim's brother. He does not wrong, desert or despise him.</i>
5:44<i>Piety is found in the heart </i> said the Prophet ﷺ
5:52<i>Despising his Muslim brother is an evil for any man to do</i>
5:56Therefore, be careful
5:57If you have strengths and see other people have flaws
6:00Do not despise and humiliate him
6:03Preachers, for example, some are smart and resourceful
6:07Other only teaches Al Fatihah at Islamic school for children, don't insult him
6:11It's useless to study far away just to teach at Islamic school for children
6:13My Brothers, he has the strength to teach at TPA, don't despise him
6:17When you have advantes, it is not to be bragged
6:19It is not your right to look down on others
6:22Then Allah SWT said
6:27Originally, this verse is related to infidels
6:30All they do is mocking and cursing
6:32And among their characters
6:36<i>He collects wealth and [continuously] counts it.</i>
6:39Allah SWT said
6:42He continues counting his wealth every day, How much is the money, how much he gains
6:47How many assets he has
6:52He thinks that his wealth will make him immortal.
6:55And he becomes stingy unwiling to give charity
6:58Unwilling o donate He collected wealth
7:00He thinks that his wealth extends his life
7:03Allah said, كَلَّا <i> never.</i>
7:06His life will not be extended at all
7:07If we have 10 houses, will our life extend a year?
7:11The answer is no
7:12Does having 10 cars extend our life for a minute
7:16The answer is no; Let alone one minute, It will not extend by one second
7:19However plenty our wealth is when it's time to die, we will die
7:22The wealth we collect will not extend our life even for a second
7:26In fact, the scholars say
7:28If we keep counting wealth, our life value will actually be reduced
7:31Because all we do is counting our wealth
7:35Finally, our time is wasted by collecting wealth and counting it
7:39Time is running out to accummulate wealth and count it, hence his life
7:42And his life is in vain and eventually reduced
7:44His wealth that he thinks will extend his life is instead reducing it
7:50Then Allah SWT said
7:54<i>No, never! His wealth will not extend his life</i>
7:58<i>He will surely be thrown into Al Hutomah.</i>
8:00There are many names for hell
8:02There is a Saqr, Weil, Hellfire
8:06There is An Naar, there is Al Hutomah
8:08<i>Al hutomah</i> is taken from the word "<i>hatam</i>" or <i> tahtim</i> which means the Crusher
8:14So if hellfire hits the human body, he will
8:17It will crush the human body
8:19There is not a single cell that is not exposed to the fire
8:22And he will be burned directly
8:23That's why Allah SWT said
8:27<i>And what can make you know what the Crusher is?</i>
8:31<i>It is the fire of Allah,</i>
8:34When Allah says It is the fire of Allah,, it means that God glorifies it
8:37It is not just any fire, It is the fire of Allah,
8:40When Allah glorifies the mosque Allah calls it <i>Baitullah</i>, the house of Allah
8:44When Allah glorifies the camels of the Prophet Saleh
8:47Allah named it ناقة الله
8:48The camel of Allah SWT
8:51When Allah glorifies His hell, Allah calls it
8:55The fire of Allah, not just any fire
8:58The hottest fire in the world is not comparable to the fire in Hell
9:03الْمُوْقَدَةُۙ [eternally] fueled,
9:05Fueled, for thousands of years so it gets hotter
9:07Now, Hell already exists
9:09And the fire is being continuously heated
9:14So that it gets hotter and will be brought on the Day of Judgment
9:20Now the fire is already there and is continuously fueled by Allah SWT
9:24Among the property of Hellfire, Allah said
9:28It mounts directed at the hearts.
9:33Muhammad bin Asy Syur said the difference between Hellfire & fire in this world
9:39The fires in this world usually burn from the outside first
9:43Then it heats up, and finally goes inside
9:46While Hellfire, it burns directly outside and inside
9:48Once it is burned it will go directly into the heart
9:51So, the fire does not burn outside first and then inside
9:54If we burn the satay, the outer part will burn first, then the inner part
9:58So, the outer part might burn but not the inner part
10:00As for Hellfire, it immediately burns inside and out
10:04It instantly penetrates into the human chest
10:06Some scholars say it specifically says "chest"
10:09Because that's where the vanity is
10:11Why does this person scord and mock?
10:14Because there is pride in his chest
10:16So it is specifically mentioned that his chest will be burned by Allah SWT
10:19Then Allah SWT said
10:23<i>Indeed, Hellfire will be closed down upon them</i>
10:26It will be tightly closed; there is no exit from hell
10:31Therefore, Allah SWT said
10:35<i>They have never been unseen from hell forever</i>
10:38Always present in hell
10:39There is no time off
10:41There is no day off to go out and then enter again
10:43Burned forever and Never come out
10:46Never lightened
10:52<i>They want to get out of hell</i>
10:53<i>And they will not come out of hell</i>
10:56Then Allah said at the end of the Surah
11:00عَمَدٍ means the pillars مُّمَدَّدَةٍ are long poles
11:05What does Allah mean by
11:08The long pillars are made of iron to cover hell
11:10So, hell is locked, covered again with poles
11:15So they can't go out, and it is impossible to exit
11:19It means that the pillars are wrapped around the inhabitants of hell
11:22They were burned with these poles
11:25So it gets hotter
11:26If people want to boil water, keep the iron inside to make it hotter, then
11:30They are also attached to the iron to make it hotter
11:34We take refuge in Allah
11:35Thus, ladies and gentlemen that was our lesson tonight
11:40May our deeds be accepted by Allah Subhanahu wa ta'ala
11:43No question and answer, please
