0:00If you think spiritual meditation is
0:02about closing your eyes, sitting in a
0:04quiet room, and trying to empty your
0:06mind, you're a completely defenseless on
0:09the battlefield. That is Eastern
0:11mysticism, not kingdom authority.
0:14Scriptural meditation is not passive
0:16silence. It is an aggressive verbal
0:19occupation of God's word. In fact, if
0:22your meditation isn't making the kingdom
0:24of darkness uncomfortable, you aren't
0:26doing it the way scripture teaches.
0:28E.W. Kenyon exposed a massive flaw in
0:31modern Christianity. We try to fight
0:34spiritual warfare with sense knowledge
0:36memory verses. We read a scripture with
0:39our eyes, store it in our intellect, and
0:41then shout it at a mountain. But, the
0:43enemy does not bow before information
0:46stored in your brain. He only bows
0:48before the finished work of Christ
0:50expressed through a believer whose
0:52spirit has been governed by the living
0:54word. When God commanded Joshua to
0:57meditate day and night before Israel
0:59possessed the promised land, the Hebrew
1:01word used was haga. It carries the idea
1:05of murmuring, speaking quietly to
1:07oneself, pondering repeatedly, and in
1:10some passages even the deep growl of a
1:12lion. God was not instructing Joshua to
1:16read casually. He was instructing him to
1:18keep the word continually in his mouth
1:21until it became the atmosphere of his
1:23heart.
1:24Today, we are shifting away from
1:26religious routines. You are about to
1:29learn the exact practical mechanics of
1:31moving the word of God from ink on a
1:34page into an unshakable force inside
1:37your spirit. We are going to break down
1:39the biblical pattern of murmuring,
1:42pondering, and declaring the scriptures
1:44until the word becomes more real to you
1:46than your circumstances.
1:48Because when the word shifts from a
1:50textbook into your spiritual DNA, you no
1:53longer struggle to convince the enemy
1:55that Christ has won. Your life becomes
1:58an expression of his finished work. Stay
2:01with this teaching until the very end
2:03because you are about to learn one of
2:05the most neglected spiritual laws in
2:07scripture, how to meditate on God's word
2:10until your enemy runs out of options and
2:13is forced to surrender.
2:15And if you desire more teachings that

2:33and each one is designed to strengthen
2:35your faith through the word of God. Now,
2:38let's learn the process, not merely the
2:40principle.
2:42One of the consistent emphases
2:44throughout E.W. Kenyon's writings was
2:46that there is a vast difference between
2:48possessing a Bible and possessing the
2:50reality that the Bible reveals.
2:53In Two Kinds of Knowledge, Kenyon
2:55explains the distinction between
2:57knowledge gained through the five
2:59physical senses and knowledge that comes
3:01by revelation through God's word. Sense
3:04knowledge is valuable in its proper
3:06place, but it was never designed to
3:08govern the believer's life. The
3:11Christian who is ruled only by what he
3:13sees, feels, hears, or experiences will
3:17constantly fluctuate with circumstances.
3:20But the believer whose spirit has been
3:21educated by the word begins living from
3:24an entirely different source. That is
3:27why meditation is so important.
3:29Meditation is the bridge between reading
3:32and revelation.
3:34Many believers faithfully read several
3:36chapters every day, and there is nothing
3:38wrong with that. Reading acquaints you
3:41with the scriptures. It exposes you to
3:43God's promises. It gives you a broader
3:46understanding of his dealings with
3:47mankind. But reading alone does not
3:50necessarily produce spiritual authority.
3:54Think about the disciples. They heard
3:56Jesus preach every day for over 3 years.
3:59They watched miracles with their own
4:01eyes. They listened to every sermon,
4:03every parable, every correction. Yet,
4:06there were moments when Jesus still
4:08asked them, "Where is your faith?" Their
4:11problem was never a lack of exposure.
4:13Their problem was that the truth had not
4:15yet become established within them.
4:18Exposure is not the same as possession.
4:21The same is true today. You can own five
4:24different translations of the Bible. You
4:26can listen to sermons every morning. You
4:29can fill notebooks with messages. Yet,
4:32when fear suddenly knocks on your door,
4:34what rises first from within you? That
4:37answer reveals what has been governing
4:39your inward life.
4:41The battle is rarely won in the moment
4:43of crisis. It is won in the unseen
4:46moments before the crisis ever arrives.
4:48That is exactly why God spoke to Joshua
4:51the way he did. Listen carefully to
4:54Joshua 1:8. "This book of the law shall
4:57not depart out of thy mouth, but thou
4:59shalt meditate therein day and night,
5:02that thou mayest observe to do according
5:05to all that is written therein. For then
5:08thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and
5:11then thou shalt have good success."
5:14Notice the divine order. God did not
5:17begin with action. He began with
5:19meditation. He did not first tell Joshua
5:22how to defeat armies. He first told him
5:25what to do with the word. He did not
5:27tell Joshua to keep the book merely in
5:30his hands. He said, "It shall not depart
5:33out of thy mouth." That is remarkable.
5:36Before the word ever changes your life,
5:39it must first become the language of
5:41your life. The mouth becomes the pathway
5:44through which the word continually
5:47enters the heart. This agrees perfectly
5:49with Romans 10:17.
5:52So then, faith cometh by hearing, and
5:55hearing by the word of God.
5:57Most people read that verse and
5:59immediately think about hearing sermons
6:01in church. Certainly, preaching has its
6:04place, but do not overlook the greatest
6:06preacher your ears will ever hear. It is
6:09you. There is something powerful about
6:12hearing your own voice declaring God's
6:15word. As you quietly speak the
6:17scriptures, your ears receive them
6:19again. Your mind hears them again. Your
6:22heart hears them again. The word is not
6:25merely passing through your eyes
6:27anymore. It is entering your entire
6:30being through repeated hearing. This is
6:32one reason biblical meditation is never
6:35presented as an emptying of the mind.
6:38Scripture consistently points us towards
6:40filling the heart with God's truth.
6:43David wrote in Psalm 1 that the blessed
6:46man delights in the law of the Lord and
6:49meditates on it day and night. As a
6:51result, he becomes like a tree planted
6:54by the rivers of water. Stability was
6:57not the starting point. Meditation was.
7:00The tree did not struggle to produce
7:02fruit. It produced fruit because it
7:05remained connected to its source.
7:07Likewise, authority is not something you
7:10manufacture through emotion. It is the
7:13fruit of a heart that has remained
7:15rooted in God's word. This is why E. W.
7:18Kenyon repeatedly emphasized that
7:21Christianity is not merely agreeing that
7:23the Bible is true. It is allowing God's
7:26word to become so real within the
7:29recreated human spirit that it governs
7:32your thinking, your speaking, and
7:34eventually your living. And that brings
7:36us to the first practical step. A step
7:39so simple that many believers overlook
7:42it, yet so foundational that everything
7:45else depends on it. Step one, the
7:48selection, choosing the raw material. Do
7:51not try to meditate on 10 chapters at
7:54once. Transformation does not come from
7:57consuming the most verses. It comes from
8:00allowing one God-breathed truth to
8:02thoroughly possess your heart. Choose
8:05one scripture that speaks directly to
8:08the battle you are facing. If fear has
8:10been attacking you, take 2 Timothy 1:7.
8:14If sickness has been challenging your
8:16body, meditate on 1 Peter 2:24 or Isaiah
8:2153:5.
8:22If you are confronting demonic
8:24oppression, take Luke 10:19
8:27or Colossians 2:15. If condemnation has
8:31been stealing your confidence, begin
8:33with Romans 8:1. The goal is not to
8:37gather more verses. The goal is to allow
8:40one verse to become more real to you
8:42than the problem standing in front of
8:44you. Because the battle changes the
8:47moment the word stops being something
8:49you merely read and begins becoming
8:52someone you truly believe. That is why
8:56the next step is not to search for
8:57another verse. It is to stay with the
9:00one God has placed before you until it
9:02becomes part of you.
9:04This is where most believers become
9:06impatient. We live in a generation that
9:08celebrates speed. We want instant
9:11answers, instant breakthroughs, and
9:13instant results. But God often works
9:16through the law of meditation because he
9:18is not merely trying to change your
9:20circumstances. He is transforming the
9:23person who will stand in those
9:25circumstances.
9:26A promise that is only glanced at cannot
9:29reshape a life. It must be revisited,
9:32repeated, turned over again and again,
9:35spoken, thought about, welcomed into the
9:38heart.
9:39This brings us to the second step, step
9:42two, the murdering phase, moving the
9:45word from the mind to the spirit.
9:48This is where the Hebrew word haga
9:50becomes practical.
9:52When Joshua was instructed to meditate
9:54day and night, the command was not
9:56simply to think about God's word
9:58occasionally. The word was to remain so
10:00continually before him that it became
10:03the conversation of his own heart.
10:05Notice again the wording of Joshua 1:8.
10:09This book of the law shall not depart
10:11out of thy mouth.
10:12God connected meditation with the mouth
10:15before he connected it with success.
10:17That order is not accidental. Many
10:20people read silently and assume they are
10:22meditating. Reading has value, but
10:25biblical meditation goes further. It
10:27involves giving God's word a voice, your
10:31voice.
10:32Not shouting to impress anyone, not
10:34making a public display, simply speaking
10:37the word quietly before God until it
10:39settles deeply within you.
10:42You may be driving to work. You may be
10:44walking through your home. You may be
10:46sitting alone during your lunch break.
10:48Instead of allowing your mind to
10:50rehearse fear, begin to rehearse the
10:52scripture you have selected.
10:54Suppose your verse is Luke 10:19.
10:57Behold, I give unto you power to tread
11:00on serpents and scorpions and over all
11:03the power of the enemy and nothing shall
11:05by any means hurt you.
11:08Do not read it once and close your
11:09Bible. Quietly repeat it. Jesus has
11:13given me authority over all the power of
11:16the enemy.
11:17Pause. Think about every word.
11:20Repeat it again.
11:22He has given me authority. Not someday,
11:26not when I feel spiritual, he has given
11:29me authority.
11:30Say it again.
11:32Nothing shall by any means hurt me.
11:35As you continue speaking the verse, your
11:37imagination begins to change. Instead of
11:40picturing defeat, you begin picturing
11:42victory. Instead of rehearsing what the
11:45enemy might do, you begin rehearsing
11:47what Christ has already accomplished.
11:50This is not positive thinking. It is
11:52renewing the mind with revealed truth.
11:55Paul wrote in Romans 12:2, "Be not
11:58conformed to this world, but be ye
12:01transformed by the renewing of your
12:03mind." Notice the transformation follows
12:06renewal.
12:07God does not tell us to ignore reality.
12:10He tells us to renew our thinking
12:12according to his word until his truth
12:15becomes the governing influence in our
12:17lives. E.W. Kenyon consistently taught
12:20that God's word must gain the ascendancy
12:23over reasoning that is built only on the
12:25five senses.
12:27As long as circumstances have the
12:29loudest voice, faith struggles to act.
12:32But when the word becomes the final
12:34authority, confidence begins to rise
12:37from within.
12:38This is why meditation is not merely an
12:41activity. It is spiritual training.
12:44It teaches your mind to submit to what
12:47your spirit knows from God's word.
12:50Think about what usually occupies a
12:52person's thoughts throughout the day.
12:54Someone receives a troubling medical
12:56report. Without realizing it, they
12:59meditate on it. They repeat it in their
13:01mind. They discuss it with friends. They
13:04replay the doctor's words. They imagine
13:07the worst possible outcome. Hours pass,
13:10yet the report never leaves their
13:12thinking. That is meditation. Only it is
13:16meditation on fear instead of truth.
13:19Someone experiences financial pressure.
13:22All day long they calculate the lack.
13:25They rehearse the bills. They imagine
13:27failure. Again, they are meditating, but
13:30on the problem.
13:32Whether you realize it or not, every
13:34person meditates. The question is not
13:37whether you meditate, the question is
13:39what occupies your meditation.
13:42David understood this when he wrote in
13:44Psalm 1 that the blessed man delights in
13:47the law of the Lord and meditates on it
13:50day and night. The result was not merely
13:53increased Bible knowledge. He became
13:55like a tree planted by rivers of water,
13:58stable, fruitful, and unwavering even
14:02when seasons changed. Meditation
14:04establishes spiritual stability.
14:08That stability is desperately needed
14:10because the enemy's first objective is
14:12almost always the mind.
14:15Notice how Satan approached Eve in
14:17Genesis 3. He did not begin with
14:20physical force. He introduced a thought.
14:24Notice how he tempted Jesus in the
14:26wilderness. Again, he introduced
14:28thoughts. The battlefield has always
14:31involved what is believed. This is why
14:34Paul tells believers in 2 Corinthians
14:3610:5 to bring every thought into
14:39captivity to the obedience of Christ.
14:43How do you replace destructive thoughts?
14:45Not by wishing them away, not by
14:48pretending they do not exist. You
14:50replace them with something stronger,
14:53the word of God.
14:55Every time fear speaks, answer it with
14:58scripture. Every time condemnation
15:00whispers, answer it with scripture.
15:03Every time anxiety attempts to dominate
15:06your thinking, quietly return to the
15:08verse you are meditating on.
15:11Do not become discouraged if your mind
15:13wanders. Bring it back again and again
15:17and again.
15:18The goal is not perfection in one day.
15:21The goal is persistence.
15:23Remember how Jesus described the seed in
15:26the parable of the sower in Mark chapter
15:284. The word is the seed. A farmer never
15:33digs up the seed every morning to see
15:35whether it has grown. He trusts the
15:37process. He continues watering. He
15:40continues waiting.
15:42In the same way, every time you mutter
15:44God's word under your breath, every time
15:47you quietly rehearse his promises, every
15:50time you choose scripture over fear,
15:53another seed is taking root in your
15:55heart.
15:56You may not feel different immediately.
15:59Joshua certainly did not see Jericho
16:01fall the first day he meditated on God's
16:04promise, but unseen work was already
16:07taking place. The word was moving from
16:10his mouth into his heart until it became
16:14his unshakable conviction. And that is
16:17the turning point every believer must
16:19reach. Because there comes a moment when
16:22the scripture you have been quietly
16:23murmuring is no longer something you are
16:26repeating from memory. It becomes
16:28something you know with absolute
16:30certainty. And once the word reaches
16:33that place inside your spirit, it will
16:36no longer remain a quiet whisper. It
16:39will rise as a voice of authority.
16:42That is where biblical meditation
16:44reaches its highest expression, and that
16:47is the next step we must learn. Step
16:50three, the roar. Enforcing the authority
16:54of the word. This is the point where
16:56meditation is no longer simply feeding
16:59your spirit. It begins expressing itself
17:02through your life.
17:03There is a great difference between
17:05repeating a verse and speaking from
17:07conviction.
17:09One comes from memory. The other comes
17:12from revelation.
17:13Anyone can repeat by whose stripes you
17:16were healed, But when that scripture has
17:19been meditated on until it becomes more
17:21real than the symptoms in your body,
17:24something changes in the way you speak
17:26it. There is no panic. There is no
17:28desperation. There is no attempt to
17:30persuade God. There is quiet certainty.
17:34That certainty is what gives authority
17:37to your confession.
17:38Notice how Jesus spoke throughout the
17:41Gospels. He never argued with sickness.
17:44He never negotiated with demons. He
17:46never pleaded with storms. He spoke as
17:49one who knew the authority that belonged
17:52to him.
17:53When he stood before the storm on the
17:55Sea of Galilee, he simply said, "Peace,
17:58be still." Mark 4:39.
18:01When he encountered unclean spirits, he
18:04commanded them to leave. When he stood
18:07before the tomb of Lazarus, he said,
18:09"Lazarus, come forth." John 11:43.
18:14His words were never empty expressions.
18:17They flowed from absolute confidence in
18:19the Father's will and his own authority.
18:23The believer's authority is different in
18:25source, yet similar in operation. We do
18:28not speak because we are the Son of God
18:30by nature as Jesus is. We speak because
18:34we are united with him by grace and
18:36because he has delegated authority to
18:39those who belong to him.
18:41Jesus said in Luke 10:19, "Behold, I
18:44give unto you power over all the power
18:47of the enemy."
18:48Notice that he did not say, "I might
18:51give you authority." He did not say,
18:53"You must earn authority." He said, "I
18:56give unto you."
18:58That authority is not produced by
19:00emotion. It is exercised by faith. And
19:04faith grows where the word has been
19:06meditated upon.
19:08This is why E.W. Kenyon devoted so much
19:10attention to the believer's confession.
19:13In books such as The Wonderful Name of
19:15Jesus and New Creation Realities, he
19:19taught that the believer's confession
19:20should agree with what God has already
19:23declared in his word. But it is
19:25important to understand the order.
19:28Meditation comes before powerful
19:30confession. Otherwise, confession easily
19:33becomes mechanical. You can say the
19:36right words while your heart remains
19:38full of doubt.
19:39Jesus addressed this principle in Mark
19:4211:23.
19:44Whosoever shall say unto this mountain,
19:46be thou removed, and shall not doubt in
19:49his heart, but shall believe. Notice the
19:52emphasis. The issue is not merely
19:55speaking. The issue is believing in the
19:58heart. Meditation fills the heart.
20:01Confession releases what the heart
20:03believes. That is why these cannot be
20:06separated. Let me show you the practical
20:09difference.
20:10Suppose someone reads 1 Peter 2:24 for
20:14the first time, by whose stripes you
20:16were healed. They may say, the Bible
20:19says I am healed. That is true. But
20:22after days and weeks of meditating on
20:24that same verse, speaking it quietly,
20:27pondering every phrase, comparing it
20:30with Isaiah 53:5,
20:32Matthew 8:17, and remembering Christ's
20:36finished work on the cross, the language
20:38begins to change. Now they say, I am the
20:42healed of the Lord. Jesus bore my sins
20:45and carried my sicknesses. Healing is
20:48not something I am trying to earn. It is
20:50part of my redemption through Christ.
20:53Therefore, sickness has no rightful
20:55claim over this body.
20:57Do you hear the difference? The second
21:00confession is not merely repeating
21:02words. It is speaking from settled
21:04conviction.
21:06The same principle applies to fear. At
21:09first, someone reads 2 Timothy 1:7, "For
21:12God has not given us the spirit of
21:14fear."
21:16After meditation, they no longer simply
21:18quote it. They declare, "Fear did not
21:21come from my father. Therefore, I refuse
21:24to entertain it. God has given me power,
21:27love, and a sound mind. My thinking
21:30belongs under the lordship of Jesus
21:33Christ. That is revelation speaking."
21:36Notice something else throughout
21:38scripture. When Jesus resisted Satan in
21:41Matthew chapter 4, every answer began
21:44with the same words, "It is written."
21:47He did not begin by describing the
21:49devil's power. He did not magnify the
21:52temptation. He magnified the written
21:54word. That should become our pattern.
21:58Many believers spend more time
22:00describing what Satan is doing than
22:02declaring what Christ has already done.
22:05Listen carefully. Your faith does not
22:07grow by constantly studying darkness. It
22:11grows by continually beholding the light
22:13of God's word. The devil would much
22:16rather have believers fascinated by his
22:19activities than established in Christ's
22:21victory.
22:23Paul takes our attention in the opposite
22:25direction. In Colossians 2:15, he
22:28declares that Christ, having spoiled
22:31principalities and powers, he made a
22:33show of them openly, triumphing over
22:36them in it.
22:37Notice the language. Christ spoiled
22:40them. He triumphed over them. That
22:42victory has already been accomplished.
22:45Biblical meditation keeps returning your
22:48heart to what Christ has finished
22:50instead of what the enemy is attempting.
22:53That is why your declarations should
22:55always arise from redemption, never from
22:58fear.
22:59You are not trying to achieve Christ's
23:01victory. You are enforcing the victory
23:04he has already won. This is one of the
23:07great themes running throughout Kenyon's
23:09ministry. The believer does not fight
23:12for victory. The believer stands in the
23:14victory secured by Christ's death,
23:17burial, resurrection, and exaltation.
23:21That changes everything. You stop
23:23praying as though heaven is uncertain.
23:26You stop speaking as though the outcome
23:28is undecided. You begin standing on what
23:31God has already spoken. That is the
23:34roar. It is not volume. It is not
23:37excitement. It is not emotional
23:39intensity. The roar is the calm,
23:42unwavering confidence of a believer
23:44whose heart has become established in
23:47God's word. It is the quiet authority
23:50that says, "God has spoken. I believe
23:53him. That settles the matter." And once
23:56the word reaches that level within you,
23:59something remarkable begins to happen.
24:01Your reactions change before your
24:04circumstances change. Peace begins
24:07replacing panic. Confidence replaces
24:09hesitation. Faith replaces striving. The
24:13word you have been meditating on starts
24:15governing your thoughts, your decisions,
24:18your speech, and eventually every area
24:21of your life. Because the greatest
24:23evidence that the word has come alive in
24:25you is not that you can quote more
24:28verses. It is that your entire way of
24:31thinking begins to agree with God. And
24:33once that transformation begins, your
24:36enemies, whether fear, condemnation,
24:39unbelief, or the lies of the devil,
24:42discover they are no longer dealing with
24:44a believer who merely knows scripture.
24:47They are confronting someone who has
24:49become established in it. And that is
24:52exactly what the enemy fears. Not a
24:54believer who occasionally opens a Bible.
24:57not a believer who can win theological
25:00debates, not even a believer who simply
25:03accumulates Bible knowledge. The enemy
25:06fears the believer whose inward life has
25:08become governed by the word of God. Why?
25:12Because Jesus explained this principle
25:14in John 8:31-32.
25:18"If ye continue in my word, then are ye
25:21my disciples indeed, and ye shall know
25:24the truth, and the truth shall make you
25:27free."
25:28Notice the progression. Continue, know,
25:32be made free.
25:34Freedom is connected to knowing the
25:36truth, not merely knowing about the
25:39truth. In scripture, the word know often
25:42carries the idea of personal experience
25:45and reality, not mere intellectual
25:47awareness. Jesus was describing a truth
25:51that becomes living reality within the
25:53believer.
25:54That reality comes through continuing in
25:57his word. This is why meditation can
25:59never be treated as an occasional
26:01spiritual exercise. It is a lifestyle.
26:05David did not say he meditated only when
26:08trouble appeared. Psalm 1 says his
26:11delight was in the law of the Lord, and
26:13in his law doth he meditate day and
26:15night.
26:16Joshua received the same instruction,
26:19day and night. God was not establishing
26:22a religious ritual. He was establishing
26:25a pattern of life. Because whatever
26:27occupies your heart consistently will
26:30eventually shape your words. Your words
26:33will shape your actions. Your actions
26:36will establish your direction, and your
26:38direction will influence the course of
26:40your life.
26:42Proverbs 4:20-22
26:45beautifully captures this process.
26:47"My son, attend to my words, incline
26:51your ear unto my sayings. Let them not
26:54depart from thine eyes. Keep them in the
26:57midst of thine heart. For they are life
26:59unto those who find them, and health to
27:02all their flesh.
27:04Look at how intentional that instruction
27:07is. Attend to my words. Incline your
27:10ear. Keep them before your eyes. Keep
27:13them in your heart.
27:15God is describing a believer who
27:17surrounds himself with the word until
27:20every avenue leading into the heart is
27:22occupied by divine truth. No wonder the
27:26word begins producing life. No wonder it
27:29begins producing spiritual strength. No
27:32wonder faith grows. The word has been
27:34given room to work.
27:37This was one of E.W. Kenyon's great
27:39burdens throughout his ministry. He
27:41repeatedly urged believers to stop
27:44treating the Bible as merely a sacred
27:46book and begin treating it as God's
27:49present communication to them.
27:51The promises of God were never intended
27:54to remain historical statements on
27:56printed pages. They were given to become
27:59living realities in the lives of those
28:01who believe.
28:02That is why your daily meditation is not
28:05simply another item on a spiritual
28:07checklist. It is fellowship with the
28:10Father through His word. It is allowing
28:13His thoughts to reshape your thoughts,
28:16His perspective to replace your
28:18perspective, His promises to become
28:20stronger than your fears.
28:22Eventually, something beautiful begins
28:25to happen. When adversity comes, your
28:27first instinct is no longer panic. It is
28:30the word. When discouragement attempts
28:33to settle over your heart, the word
28:35rises within you. When temptation
28:38presents itself, the word answers before
28:41your emotions have time to take control.
28:44When fear whispers, the word speaks
28:46louder. not because you forced yourself
28:49to remember a verse, but because the
28:51word has become the language of your
28:54inward man. That is what Jesus
28:56demonstrated throughout his earthly
28:58ministry. Everything he did flowed from
29:01his perfect agreement with the Father's
29:03will and word, and that should become
29:06our pursuit. Not simply to know more
29:09scripture, but to become so established
29:12in it that our thinking, speaking, and
29:14living increasingly reflect what God has
29:17already said. Perhaps today you realize
29:21that you have spent more time meditating
29:23on your problems than on God's promises.
29:27Do not become discouraged. Start today.
29:30Choose one verse. Stay with it. Speak it
29:33quietly throughout your day. Think
29:36deeply about every phrase. Ask the Holy
29:39Spirit to illuminate its meaning as you
29:42read it in its biblical context.
29:45Refuse to abandon it simply because you
29:47do not see immediate results. Remember,
29:50a seed develops beneath the surface
29:53before anyone sees it above the ground.
29:55The same is true of God's word in the
29:58heart. Do not measure its effectiveness
30:00by your feelings. Measure it by God's
30:03faithfulness. Isaiah 55:11 declares, "So
30:08shall my word be that goeth forth out of
30:11my mouth. It shall not return unto me
30:13void, but it shall accomplish that which
30:16I please, and it shall prosper in the
30:19thing whereto I sent it."
30:21God's word accomplishes His purpose.
30:24Our responsibility is to receive it,
30:27believe it, and continue in it. As you
30:30do, you will discover something
30:32remarkable. The battles that once
30:35overwhelmed you begin losing their grip.
30:37Fear no longer dictates your decisions.
30:41Condemnation no longer silences your
30:43confidence. The opinions of people no
30:46longer determine your identity. The lies
30:49of the enemy become easier to recognize
30:52because your heart has become thoroughly
30:54acquainted with the truth. That is how
30:57the enemy surrenders. Not because we
31:00possess power in ourselves, not because
31:03we have mastered a religious technique,
31:05but because we stand in the triumph of
31:08Jesus Christ and his word has become
31:10alive within us.
31:12When the word governs your heart, your
31:14mouth begins agreeing with heaven. When
31:17your mouth agrees with heaven, your life
31:19increasingly reflects what Christ has
31:22already accomplished. That is the power
31:25of biblical meditation. Not emptying
31:28your mind, but filling your heart. Not
31:31escaping reality, but standing in God's
31:34reality until it transforms the way you
31:37face every circumstance.
31:39So, beginning today, do not merely read
31:42the word, remain with it. Murmur it.
31:45Think on it. Treasure it. Let it dwell
31:48in you richly, just as Paul instructed
31:51in Colossians 3:16.
31:54Allow it to shape your imagination.
31:56Allow it to correct your thinking. Allow
31:59it to become the loudest voice in your
32:01life. Because when the word of God comes
32:04alive in you, faith stops being a
32:07theory, authority stops being a
32:09doctrine, victory stops being a future
32:12hope. It becomes your daily experience
32:15as you walk with Christ.
32:18If this teaching strengthened your
32:19understanding of meditating on God's
32:22word, write "The word is alive in me" in
32:25the comments below. Let that be your
32:28declaration of faith and your
32:30encouragement to someone else reading
32:32through the comments.
32:33If you know another believer who needs
32:35to discover the biblical power of
32:37meditation, share this teaching with
32:40them. It may become the turning point in
32:42their walk with God. And if you haven't
