0:03What's going on, guys? Today we're
0:05talking about why Yamaha's M03 isn't
0:09just for beginners. It's for everyone
0:11and anyone who wants to throw their leg
0:13over a motorcycle that's not going to
0:15try to kill them. Let's take a look.
0:18For a long time, most people assume that
0:22small displacement motorcycles with
0:24small engines, small
0:26wheelbases, low seat height are for
0:29either beginners or smaller riders in
0:31general. I'm about 6 feet tall. I weigh
0:34about 280 lbs. And when I sit on this
0:37thing, well, if your first thought is
0:40that I look like a circus bear riding a
0:42tricycle, go [ __ ] yourself and you're a
0:45bad person.
0:46But I think I fit on here pretty well.
0:49Uh the bike has about 37 horsepower. Uh
0:53weighs about 370 lbs. Uh super nimble
0:56with that short wheelbase. Um gets
0:59around small back roads really well.
1:02Gets around those twisties. It's just a
1:04ton of fun. Uh does fine on the highway.
1:07Goes 7075 without an issue. has just a
1:10little bit left over uh for you to pass
1:12or get out of trouble with the throttle
1:14if you need to. Um all around this
1:18motorcycle proves that these small bikes
1:22are for everyone. They're not just for
1:24small short riders or beginner riders.
1:27Anyone can hop on this bike and have a
1:29great time. Let's go for a ride.
1:34[Music]
1:41This is number one. What makes this
1:43motorcycle so much fun is just
1:48its high revving low horsepower
1:53engine. The best part about it is you
1:55can I mean you can rev it all the way
1:57out and you're barely going fast at all.
2:02You know, that's what's great about
2:04these little bikes is they rev like a
2:07son of a [ __ ] but they don't really
2:10make a whole lot of power. With all, you
2:13know, without all that
2:15horsepower, you're not going to end up,
2:19you know, getting caught off
2:25guard. It's what makes these little guys
2:27so much fun, just digging into a corner
2:29like that.
2:32I mean, that's wide out right there. I'm
2:35going 48 miles an
2:37[Music]
2:42hour. It's what makes little bikes like
2:44this so much
2:46fun. On little back roads like this, I
2:49honestly can't think of a better
2:51motorcycle than just something high
2:53revving and small displacement. You
2:55know, when when a lot of people think of
2:58beginner motorcycles, they think of like
3:02the Honda Rebel 250 or a Ninja 250 or
3:07um, you know, like a Grom or a uh
3:11Kawasaki's little 125 or something like
3:14that.
3:16And you know, those are great little
3:17beginner bikes, but if you're an inter
3:21intermediate rider or you're, you know,
3:23somebody who's been riding for years and
3:25years
3:27and
3:29you're not really interested in
3:31something that small, but you want
3:35something, you know, a little bit
3:37smaller, a little bit better on fuel. I
3:40mean, this thing I can't I can't see
3:42right now, but this thing gets something
3:43like 55 miles to the gallon if I'm not
3:46riding it like a jerk. And a lot of
3:48times I do ride this bike like a jerk.
3:50Not like I'm going so fast or ducking in
3:52and out of traffic or anything like
3:53that, but take a little back road uh on
3:57the way to work and just, you know, I
3:59rev the crap out of it. But in first
4:01gear, in second gear, revving this thing
4:04all the way out to, you know, what is
4:06it? uh 12,000 RPMs, you're not going
4:10very fast. So, you know, that's kind of
4:12back to what I said at the beginning of
4:14the video about, you know, riding a slow
4:16bike fast is just a good time, you know,
4:20and you got way less of a chance of
4:21getting in any trouble as far as, you
4:24know, the bike out, you know,
4:26outperforming your skill level, if that
4:28makes any sense. And it should because
4:31it happens pretty often. That person
4:33just didn't see me because they've got
4:34something written on
4:37their driver's side window, which is
4:40hilarious. Feel like that's bad for
4:44everyone. But
4:46um you know, there's nothing not great
4:49about this little motorcycle. That's why
4:51I think everybody should have one cuz
4:53they're just so much
4:55[Music]
4:58fun. I mean, that's just a good time,
5:01man. It is just a good
5:04time. I can't There's just no motorcycle
5:07out there that I can think of that's
5:09just, you know, you know, it's not going
5:13to blow your socks off with power
5:14because it just doesn't have it. But
5:17what it does have is just so much
5:19character. That's what's so cool about
5:21this little bike is, you know, it's not
5:24going to impress you with the power, but
5:25what it is going to impress you with is
5:27one, I mean, it's incredibly nimble,
5:29which, you know, most small bikes are
5:31that are kind of sporty. This one's kind
5:33of sporty. So, um, they're all kind of
5:36nimble, but this one with its like super
5:38short wheelbase and, you know, its seat
5:40height being a little bit higher than
5:42something a little less sporty, I mean,
5:44it feels it feels like you're riding a
5:46big bike. It feels like you're on an
5:49M07, but in reality, you're you're on
5:52the, you know, you're on this little
5:54twin that just revs to the [ __ ]
5:58ceiling, you
6:00know? It is a good time. So, like on
6:04these back roads, they're uh like it
6:06it's just so at home. It's so easy to
6:09have fun on these little straights with
6:11the little hills and stuff and, you
6:13know, like turns like this. this. I
6:16mean, this bike just chews this stuff up
6:18and it's just a good time. Now, you
6:21know, that being said, how does this
6:23bike handle a highway rip? Well, uh, you
6:27know, it holds its own just
6:29fine. It will, uh, cruise along at 75 m
6:34an hour, like I said, totally fine. And
6:36it's got just a little bit left over, so
6:38you can pass.
6:41Um, I mean there's I I don't know what
6:45else to say about this motorcycle
6:46besides what I've already said and I've
6:49kind of fallen in love with these
6:51smaller displacement bikes. Um, you
6:54know, just from having this M3 in the
6:58garage. Um, I've been testing out
7:01smaller, you know, not smaller than
7:03this, but just small displacement bikes
7:05to just kind of, you
7:07know, see what they're like, see how
7:09much fun I can have on them. And the
7:12answer is all of the fun because they
7:14are just all of the fun without any of
7:18the worry of, you know, teleporting back
7:21in time from how fast I'm
7:26going. flag right now. I'm winding it
7:29all the way out fourth. We're going 70,
7:32dropping into six. We're cruising at 75.
7:34Uh 70
7:3670 75 right there. And I've got plenty
7:39left to give as far as uh you know,
7:44RPMs. Now, I'm I'm a heavy guy, so you
7:47know, this thing hitting triple digits
7:50is you know, tough. Allegedly, I I could
7:55get it to triple digits, but you know,
7:59sitting right here going between 70 and
8:0175, this thing just cruises, man. You
8:04know, obviously you're going to get a
8:06ton of wind buffing, but that's because
8:07it has no wind protection at all. I put
8:10this little shield on here. It literally
8:12does nothing. Just looks kind of cool.
8:15But, I mean, here we are. We're We're
8:18running at, you know, 70 m an hour and I
8:21got plenty left to give. I can get up to
8:2480
8:2585. No problem
8:31really. Going to downshift a little bit.
8:35Get out of the way here.
8:41But as far as like a bike to commute on,
8:46you know, this is literally the perfect
8:49motorcycle to commute on. Doesn't matter
8:51if you've got a big long highway rip.
8:54Um, you know, this thing will do it and
8:56it'll do it comfortably all day, you
9:00know. Um, obviously the wind protection
9:02not being there if you've got a long
9:04highway ride can be a little annoying,
9:06but I think this thing makes up for it
9:08in like every other aspect of
9:11motorcycleycling. Um, it just does such
9:13a great job on these back roads and it's
9:16so fuel efficient. I mean, you know,
9:18it's not fuel efficient compared to like
9:20a Grom, but you know, for a
9:23300cc twin, I think it, you know, it's
9:26great on fuel. you know, you can fill
9:30this thing up for, you know, like N
9:32bucks and then, you know, ride on it for
9:36whatever it is, like I don't know, close
9:38to 200 miles, something like that, which
9:41is nothing to shake your uh shake your
9:44hat at for sure. I mean, you could tour
9:46on this thing. I've considered touring
9:48on this because it's just such a good
9:50little bike, you know, and I know that
9:52you can throw bags on it and you could
9:54throw a top box on it. um and do just
9:58fine touring, you know. I mean, is it as
10:01honestly the seat is more comfortable
10:04than, you know, like my uh my Boulevard
10:08that seat is kind of uncomfortable. Um
10:10it's even more comfortable than my KTM
10:121290. Um this seat is like there's
10:16nothing wrong with it. It's It's, you
10:18know, it's not the most comfortable, but
10:20it's more comfortable than some bikes
10:22that are like way more expensive. And
10:26like price-wise, when you're talking
10:27about, you know, how much you're going
10:29to pay for this little guy, we're
10:31talking like you can find these things
10:32sub 3,000 bucks. And and like, you know,
10:362020 and
10:38newer, which is kind of wild if you ask
10:41me for, you know, everything that this
10:44little bike kind of bring. I mean, you
10:46could own this bike and nothing else and
10:49you'd be able to do to do I mean,
10:50besides riding off-road and I've seen
10:52people throw knobbies on these things
10:53and ride them off-road. So, you know, I
10:56mean, this bike really can do just about
10:59anything, which is just really
11:00impressive for what what it is, you
11:04know, being this little, you know, 300.
11:08I don't I don't remember the exact I
11:10think it's over 300 cc's. I think it's
11:12like 321 or 25 or something. But for a
11:15little bike making less than 40
11:17horsepower,
11:19um it just it just has so much character
11:22and it's everything that's fun about
11:24riding a motorcycle, you know, and
11:26nothing that's none of the bad stuff,
11:29you know, like with these small little
11:30bikes, a lot of people get worried about
11:33whether or not it can run on the
11:34highway. This thing can run on the
11:36highway all day long, you know, at at
11:387500 RPMs going 75 miles an hour and
11:43just chill. That's what's most
11:44impressive about this bike is just, you
11:48know, its versatility. Just how much fun
11:50you can have on this thing in a bunch of
11:52different
11:53situations. So that's why I think
11:56literally everybody should have one in
11:58their garage. And there's no reason not
12:00to. They're so cheap, you know? They're
12:03so cheap and and they just impro they're
12:05just a massive improvement to any
12:07collection that they they find
12:09themselves in. You know, see, I've been
12:11kind of riding it a little hard and I'm
12:13getting 46.6 miles to the gallon right
12:16now. And, you know, I've been winding it
12:18out. So, if you're just chugging along,
12:22you know, uh this thing will get 55 60
12:24mi to the gallon, which is pretty
12:26awesome, you know, for like a little
12:29bike that, you know, like I said, it's
12:33not going to blow your socks off, but it
12:35is like the right amount of
12:39exciting and also the right amount of
12:42like
12:44control. That's, you know, we're wide
12:46out right there and we're going 52 miles
12:48an hour. It's just so much fun. This
12:52bike is
12:55hilarious. I really do love this thing.
12:58Anybody would fall in love with this
12:59motorcycle. If you throw your leg over
13:01this bike and you take it for a ride on
13:04a windy little road, you're going to
13:06love this bike. You know, it just puts a
13:09smile on your face. It's like a, you
13:12know, it's like a little uh uh French
13:15bulldog. That's a good way of of
13:18describing it. It's tiny, but it's got a
13:20ton of character, man. You know, I
13:23actually don't I've never been around
13:24any French bulldogs. I just look at
13:26them, and every time I look at them, I
13:27smile. So, every time I look at this
13:29bike, I just smile because it it just
13:32makes me smile, man. It's just a good
13:34time. I'm sure I keep saying the same
13:36[ __ ] over and over again, but again, you
13:39know, it just it's what it makes me
13:41feel. And um threw this one kind of
13:44wide.
13:45Um they're
13:48uh just making these motorcycles
13:50correctly. Yamaha, they're just doing
13:53the perfect thing with these small
13:55bikes. You know, there's like I couldn't
13:58I couldn't think of a thing to tell
14:01Yamaha to improve about this motorcycle.
14:03The handlebars aren't buzzy. The brakes
14:05work good. You know, fuel mileage, uh,
14:08[ __ ] awesome, you know, the the whole
14:12bike, I wouldn't even say it would be
14:14more like it would be better with more
14:16power because then it would just be an
14:18M07. And, you know, that bike already
14:20exists and that bike is fun, but
14:22honestly, it's not as much fun as this.
14:25You know, M07's cool, but I honestly
14:28think this is a cooler
14:30bike. And it's way easier to have a good
14:33time
14:33on. And you're not going to get yourself
14:35in any trouble. It's got ABS. I mean,
14:38you know, so if you find yourself
14:40getting a little sideways, this thing
14:41will take care of you. Make sure you
14:43don't [ __ ] crash and die, which is a
14:46cool feature.
14:49But just I just I can't explain how much
14:53fun this little thing
14:55is. It's just such a good time.
14:59But yeah, I'm sure, like I said, I keep
15:02saying the same things over and over
15:03again.
15:05But it's just really what this bike is
15:08about, man. It's just, you know, getting
15:11out there and having a good time and not
15:14having to worry about, you know,
15:15dropping it and and, you know, concerned
15:18about how much it's going to cost to
15:20repair because it's cheap. I can tell
15:22you from experience. And you know, the
15:26thing weighs
15:28370ish lb. So, a a medium-sized child
15:33could lift this thing off of, you know,
15:36the ground. So, it just makes too much
15:40sense and it's too much fun for anybody
15:44not to fall in love with this
15:46motorcycle, you know?
15:48So,
15:50my YouTube opinion is if you're in the
15:54market as a
15:55beginner, go look at an M03, a used one.
15:59If you're in the market for
16:02uh, you know, adding another bike, a
16:03fuel efficient bike to your collection,
16:05they're all fuel efficient, but you
16:07know, uh, you know, something a little
16:09bit smaller and, you know, I don't care
16:12if you've been riding motorcycles for 35
16:14years. If you're in the market for just
16:16a fun motorcycle, like if you're if
16:19you're thinking to yourself like, you
16:20know what, I should go get a sport bike,
16:22you know, something powerful, you know,
16:24that I can rip around and have a good
16:26time on, I I honestly suggest go check
16:29out an M03 first and just get on it and
16:32take it for a ride and you you'll see
16:36that this bike is exactly what you're
16:39looking for and it's not going to kill
16:40you, which is like, you know, awesome.
16:44Thanks you. Thanks for watching, guys. I
16:47appreciate it.
