Why My Tier List Is Different
0:00If you're heading to Aion 2 Global and
0:02are picking up your main, you probably
0:03watched a few tier lists already. But
0:05those don't really show you how classes
0:06hold up from a hardcore end game
0:09player's perspective. Hello guys, Yufan
0:10here. I've been on Taiwan servers since
0:12day one, 10 month, over $5,000, pushing
0:16extreme builds in both PvE and the PvP.
0:18I even picked up a server third century
0:20clear.
0:21>> Newbie.
0:23Go [ __ ] bro. Holy
0:28>> So what you're about to hear is based on
0:30the latest the patch and the real end
0:32game. The rankings shift hard between
0:34PvP, PvE, and the free to play. So check
0:37where your class lands in each before
0:39you lock it. Let's jump right in. So
PvE Early Game & Sanctuary Progression
0:41let's start with the early game PvE and
0:43the sanctuary progression. So for S
0:46tier, I'll have cleric and the Templar.
0:49And honestly, both of these classes are
0:51almost irreplaceable during progression.
0:53Every group needs a cleric for healing.
0:59Well, Templars were main tank for
1:00holding aggro and controlling the boss.
1:04And A tier, we have Gladiator and the
1:07Chanter. Chanter provides important a
1:09reduction
1:13while Gladiator brings a strong damage
1:15buff
1:16and can also function as a off tank.
1:19Common setup uh is to split your Templar
1:21and Gladiator in your two different
1:22parties and pair it with clerics and
1:25ideally have a Chanter supporting one of
1:26these groups. And then in B tier, we'll
1:29have sorcerer, spirit master, uh ranger,
1:34and assassin. The three range the
1:36classes generally have a much safer
1:37damage environment during progression.
1:42But assassin, my class on the other
1:45hand, has a harder time reaching its
1:47full potential when you're learning
1:48difficult encounters and consistently
1:51dealing with the mechanics.
PvE Endgame – Fast Clears & Farming
2:01>> But once we moving to late game PvE,
2:03that completely change. When everyone
2:05knows the mechanic and your group is
2:07very geared, a lot of conquest bosses
2:09can die with just 30 to 40 seconds.
2:13And that short burst of window is just
2:15perfect for assassin.
2:22Well, chanters cool down reduction
2:23becomes extremely valuable for
2:25maximizing that burst. So, that's why I
2:28move both to ass tier. In A, gladiator
2:31still provides a damage buff and a solid
2:32DPS, while sorcerer, spear master, and
2:35ranger can all put out strong damage
2:37once survivability is no longer a
2:39concern. But templar and the cleric, I
2:41dropped them all to B. Uh not because
2:44they're bad, because you simply don't
2:45need as much tanky or healing when
2:47bosses are dying that quickly. Now, PvP
PvP Early Game – Solo
2:50is where the rankings looks completely
2:52different. game solo PvP, assassin and
2:55the gladiator are my ass tier classes.
2:58So, assassin has stealth, which means
3:00you can control engagement. You decide
3:01who you want to fight and when you want
3:03to engage and when you want to leave.
3:09Paralyzed.
3:14For gladiator, I feel like it has the
3:16most a complete PvP skill package with
3:19strong damage and a stigma skills for a
3:21high CC resistance and an
3:23invulnerability option that gives you a
3:25lot of room to fight and escape.
3:28Then I have ranger, chanter, spear
3:30master, and templar in A tier. So, I
3:32feel like ranger benefits heavily from
3:34evasion early on, especially when other
3:37players haven't built enough accuracy
3:38yet or the gear provides enough accuracy
3:41early game. And also there are rumors
3:43global lowers the evasion cap compared
3:45to Taiwan and Korea. We had 50% compared
3:48to potentially 30%. Even with that, I
3:52think evasion should still provide
3:53meaningful survivability early on.
3:55Enchantor has healing and a sustain.
3:57Spiritmaster has strong CC. Well,
3:59Templar is naturally tanky with a solid
4:02damage and the control. [music] And
4:03that's why I put these in A tier in the
4:05ranking as gear. And lastly, that leaves
4:07Sorcerer and Cleric in B. Sorcerer's
4:10early damage could be limited by Aion's
4:12changes, especially for Smite build.
4:14Back in Taiwan, Sorcerer hurt so much
4:17with a Smite build, but on global, you
4:19don't get that many Smite on your genus.
4:21So, that actually affects my rating when
4:24it comes to global. And also, the
4:25defensive options are pretty limited for
4:28Sorcerer. Cleric is pretty difficult to
4:30kill, but its damage and kill pressure
4:32are much lower. So, it's not really
4:33ideal for the solo roaming in the abyss.
4:37But this ranking changes up completely
PvP Early Game – Small-Scale
4:39when we go from solo PvP to small group
4:42PvP, which is a huge part in the game.
4:44Having the Cleric in your party can
4:46completely change how your group
4:48performs in these small group PvP
4:49[music] fights.
4:55Without a doubt, Cleric S tier.
4:57Gladiator, Ranger, Assassin, Templar,
4:59Spiritmaster are all in A because the
5:02same strength they have in solo PvP
5:04becomes even better when supported by a
5:05team. Enchantor, I drop it to B. It's
5:08still useful, but in small groups, some
5:10of the role overlap with the Cleric, and
5:12with a limited party slots, I'd rather
5:14bring another DPS alongside my healer.
5:16Sorcerer stays at the bottom in C
5:17because, well, also being relatively
5:19vulnerable when being focused in a team
5:21fight. Once we get into late game PvP,
PvP Endgame – Solo
5:23gear start changing some of these
5:25match-up. For solo roaming, I still put
5:27Assassin and Gladiator in S tier. Same
5:29reasons as I said above. So, Enchantor
5:31becomes much stronger once geared. It
5:33has greater sustain, the damage is
5:35great. It has several 100% hit abilities
5:38against the evasion build Assassin and
5:40Ranger. That's why I put it at the top
5:42of the A tier. And for Templar, it
5:44becomes much more interesting, also.
5:46After multiple balance changing in Korea
5:48and the Taiwan, the damage and the crowd
5:50control has improved significantly.
5:52Combine that how naturally tanky the
5:54class already is, that's why I have like
5:55Templar kind of like the second place in
5:57A tier.
6:08Spearmaster also scales extremely well
6:10with the gear. Uh Ranger is still in A
6:12tier, but towards the bottom. Once
6:14everyone starts building more accuracy
6:17or you would get these accuracy from
6:19your gear. So evasion becomes less
6:21effective, which takes away one of the
6:23Ranger's biggest, I would say early game
6:25advantages. I bumped Sorcerer to B tier.
6:28I think late game, not sure what the
6:30meta would have looked like for global,
6:32but I believe you'd get a more like
6:34Smite double chance option to enhance
6:37your character, and that's why Sorcerer
6:39the damage will scales like crazy.
6:45Again, for solo play Cleric B tier.
PvP Endgame – Small-Scale
6:48And for a late game small scale PvP,
6:51Cleric goes right back to S tier.
6:53Templar, Gladiator, Chanter, Assassin,
6:55and these classes make up A tier. The
6:58biggest change from early game is
7:00Chanter. Once you are probably geared,
7:01it has enough damage to become a real
7:03threat while still providing all of
7:05these support and the survivability to
7:07your party. That's why I give it like A
7:08tier. A Ranger I kind of dropped to B
7:11because as I said, accuracy may catch up
7:13to evasion or even the Rangers on
7:15accuracy and PvP damage boost build. In
7:18team fights, it's kind of wasting a
7:19little bit more healing resources for,
7:21you know, for your party. So the Cleric
7:23has to keep an eye on the Rangers
7:26closely so he doesn't get like meltdown
7:28in a small group fight. One thing about
PvP Large-Scale – ZvZ
7:30Aion 2 I love the most is the largest
7:32scale PvP ZvZ, but unfortunately ZvZ is
7:35basically a nightmare for my class
7:38Assassin. I'll explain. So when you have
7:40like hundreds of player fighting
7:41hundreds of players around either an
7:43artifact or abyss bosses, ranged classes
7:45simply have a much better environment to
7:47deal damage. That's why I put all of the
7:49ranged classes at S tier. They can
7:51contribute from a safer distance,
7:52pressuring no matter if you're, you
7:54know, hitting the objective or killing
7:56the enemies. And I put a changer in A
7:58tier because they can still somewhat
7:59become a ranged class in these kind of
8:01like ZvZ. A geared Templar is extremely
8:04tanky and it can function as a frontline
8:06for your faction. So, I'd put it into B.
8:09But Templar is still melee and it can't
8:11safely attack a heavily contested boss
8:13or artifacts the same way ranged classes
8:16can. Lastly, assassin and a gladiator,
8:20they're just like C tier in ZvZ. If
8:22you're walking into hundreds of enemy
8:24players trying to hit the boss, you will
8:26get melted instantly. Not at all.
8:31So, most of the time you're playing at
8:32the edge trying to pick up some solo
8:34players around the objectives. And
8:36that's literally the only way how you
8:38could play or get any contribution
8:40towards the artifact or the bosses.
8:47And re-engage. He's going to going to
8:49stun and die.
8:51Now, let's answer the question I've been
F2P Tier List
8:53getting asked a lot on stream. What's
8:56the best class if you're completely free
8:58to play? This ranking isn't about which
9:00class is the strongest. It's about how
9:02much value your class can still provide
9:04when your gear is behind paying players.
9:09That's why without a doubt, cleric is
9:11the S tier. Even when you're
9:12undergeared, parties still need your
9:14healing and utility. Cleric is still
9:16much needed in these like PvE, even if
9:19you're running alts. Most of the time
9:21because everyone's like so undergeared,
9:22cleric is often needed in alts dungeon
9:25running, also.
9:33For PvP, normally clerics are building
9:36could have the resistance, and also
9:38block, which are relatively cheap to get
9:41good stats out of the mana stones. Also,
9:43Cleric doesn't require as many passives
9:45as some other classes like Assassin. You
9:47need the four passives, but Cleric
9:49doesn't require as many, like mostly
9:51two. So, it's significantly cheaper than
9:53maximizing your offensive stats with
9:55defensive stats for Cleric.
10:00Chanter I put in A tier for very similar
10:03reason. The party still needs your buff
10:05and cool down reduction, and just like
10:07provides huge value to highly geared the
10:09players. And then we have Templar,
10:10Spiritmaster, and Gladiator. These
10:12three, they still have enough utility
10:15for the parties, and they can remain
10:17relevant across PvE or PvP without
10:20needing to completely out gear the
10:21players around them.
10:25Finally, we have Assassin, Ranger, and
10:27the Sorcerer. They are all C tier. The
10:29problem with free-to-play on these
10:30classes are they are very damage
10:32dependent. And if you're a complete
10:34free-to-play on these classes,
10:35especially in PvP, it's going to be very
10:38hard against equally geared the players.
Final Thoughts
10:40So, these are my completed tier list of
10:42guides for Aion 2 Global. I don't think
10:44there's a best all-around class in Aion
10:462, but you really need to think about
10:48what content you're actually playing,
10:50how much you're planning to invest, and
10:52whether you prefer solo PvP, group PvP,
10:55or even just like pure PvE. And if you
