Building a real money-making AI app

0:00Today, I'm building a real money-making

0:02application, my very own marketing

0:05launch funnel. The idea is simple. You

0:07enter in a product, and the application

0:09creates the positioning, landing page

0:11copy, call to action, lead capture, and

0:14payment flow. This is so that customers

0:16can interact with the landing page and

0:19make a purchase if desired. And all the

0:21back end powering all this is going to

0:23be by Superbase. What's going on,

Why Supabase?

0:25everybody? Welcome back to another AI

0:28video. Today, we're diving into

0:30Superbase. Superbase gives you the

0:32back-end pieces that turn an AI idea

0:35into a real application, including auth,

0:38Postgres database, storage, edge

0:41functions, real time, and vector search.

0:43So, instead of stitching together a

0:45bunch of different back-end tools, we

0:46can go from an idea to a working AI

0:49application much smoother and much

0:51faster. Build in a weekend, scale to

Planning the app

0:54millions. Okay, first things first,

0:55let's head on over to Superbase. Of

0:57course, the link is going to be in the

0:58description and pinned comment below, as

1:01always. Okay, the first thing you want

1:02to do is pick your app idea. So, here's

1:04how this is going to work. Users are

1:06going to land on my funnel right here.

1:08This is just going to be a simple

1:10landing page. Then, all you have to do

1:11is enter in your information, product

1:13name, product idea, target customer, the

1:16main pain point, offer, price, and the

1:18goal, and then click on generate funnel.

1:21And then this app is going to act like

1:23your very own strategic marketer. It's

1:25going to generate a polished landing

1:27page based on the product. And then

Creating a Supabase project

1:29Superbase is going to save everything on

1:31the back end. So, you can build

1:32something real, practical, and most

1:34importantly, something that makes you

1:36money. All right, back over to

1:37Superbase, you want to click on start

1:39your project right here, and then come

1:41over to new project. Okay, you're going

1:42to want to have your organization

1:44selected, so here's mine. You can

1:46connect GitHub, and then just name your

1:48project. So, for example, my marketing

1:50buddy, and then choose a password. Let's

1:52generate one. We've got our password,

1:53got it copied. Let's go ahead and click

1:55on create new project. All right, this

1:57is the project I just made on Superbase.

2:00And right now we're looking at the

2:01dashboard. So before we build the app,

Creating the database tables

2:03we need somewhere to store all of the

2:04data. That's where Superbase comes in.

2:06I've already created a few simple tables

2:09that our app will use behind the scenes.

2:11I've got profiles, which stores

2:13information about the users, launch

2:15projects, which stores the original

2:17product idea and the inputs, generated

2:20funnels, which stores the AI-generated

2:22landing pages, and leads, which stores

2:24the names and emails collected through

2:27the funnels, which is super super

2:29important. As we build the app, you'll

2:30actually see these tables populate in

2:33real time, so we can verify that

2:35everything's being saved correctly

2:37within Superbase. Okay, I'm just going

2:39to paste in a small SQL schema. All this

2:42does is tell Superbase what tables we

2:45want to create for our app. And we're

2:47just going to paste that in, just like

2:49this. So as you can see, I'm just

2:50creating a bunch of tables. Okay, I'm

2:52going to hit run and enable RLS. All

2:55right, success. No rows returned. Now

2:57let's come over to our table editor at

3:00the very top. There we go, four

3:02different tables right here. All right,

3:04now it is time to actually build the

3:06app. Okay, so to actually build the app,

3:08I'm over here on Lovable. I'm going to

3:09paste in my prompt for my app. So here

Building the app with Lovable

3:12we go. All right, here's my prompt. It's

3:14a bit of a long one, but here's the

3:16essence of it. I want to build a clean,

3:18modern web app called My Friend Funnel.

3:21So the purpose is that this is an

3:22AI-powered strategic marketer. So the

3:25user is going to enter in a product

3:27idea, and this app is going to instantly

3:29produce a polished, high-converting,

3:32one-page product landing page. And I

3:34want the experience to be extremely

3:36simple. We're going to go from the

3:38landing page to a single form, generate

3:40the landing page, and display the

3:42finished funnel. Nothing crazy right

3:43now, no login, no dashboard, everything

3:46happens on one page. And very important,

3:48this is going to collect the name,

3:50email, product name, product idea,

3:53target customer, pain point, and all

3:55this information is going to tie back

3:57into Superbase. So, I'll go ahead and

3:59leave this prompt in the description if

4:00you want to have a read-through. Let's

4:02go ahead and punch this in. All right,

4:04here we go. Here's the web app. Now, on

4:06the left-hand side, I did have a bunch

4:07of back and forth with Lovable just in

4:10terms of the overall aesthetic and

4:12design, but I think I'm really happy

4:13with what I have right now. So, we have

4:16My Friend Funnel, and let's have a

4:17read-through. Ship a launch funnel that

4:20actually converts. Describe your product

4:22in seven fields. My Friend Funnel, which

4:25writes the headline, offer, benefits,

4:28FAQ, and call to action. It is a

4:30complete one-page funnel ready in

4:33seconds. Okay, now it is time to connect

4:35Superbase to the back end of this

Connecting Lovable to Supabase

4:38application. So, for this, you're going

4:39to need three things from Superbase:

4:41your project URL, your publishable key,

4:44and then your secret key. Now, to find

4:46that, just come over to your project

4:47dashboard on Superbase. Okay, then just

4:49come down to project settings in the

4:51bottom left. We've got our project name,

4:53Launch Funnel, then here's our project

4:54ID. So, we want this. Go ahead and copy

4:57it. All right, then come over to API

4:59keys. Then, you're going to want to copy

5:00the publishable key and then the secret

5:03key as well. And again, this is under

5:05API keys under the settings. Now, a

5:07really easy way to connect this with

5:09Lovable, I actually found an easy way

5:11and it was actually coming over to the

5:13chat in the bottom left, and I punched

5:15in something like this: Connect this app

5:17to my existing Superbase project. Do not

5:20enable Lovable Cloud and do not create a

5:22new back end. Tell me exactly what

5:25credentials you need from Superbase to

5:27connect the app. Okay, let's submit. All

5:29right, to connect this app to your

5:30existing Superbase project, I need three

5:32credentials from your Superbase project

5:35settings: the Superbase project URL,

5:37publishable key, and the service role

5:39key. Okay, here's that form to fill in.

5:41So, I'm going to come back over to

5:42Superbase, and under general, we have of

5:45project ID. Let's copy that. Okay,

5:47here's the first one.

5:49Here's the second one. Hit copy.

5:52Okay, then here's the last one.

5:56Credentials saved. I verified the

5:58connection to your Supabase project and

6:00all four required tables are accessible.

6:03Profiles, launch projects, generated

6:05funnels, and leads. Try submitting the

6:08form to confirm the end-to-end flow. All

6:10right, awesome. Should be good to go

6:12now. Okay, let's give this a shot and

6:14fill out the form with a product. Okay,

6:16for the product name, Epic Water Bottle.

Testing the AI funnel generator

6:18For the idea, I'm going with a premium

6:21minimalistic insulated water bottle

6:23designed to look as good on the desk as

6:25it does at the gym. And then I have my

6:27target customer, my main pain point, and

6:30the offer as well with a price point and

6:32the goal, which is buy now. Let's go

6:34ahead and generate the funnel. And in

6:36just a few seconds, we've got a landing

6:38page for this water bottle. Got the

6:41branding, Epic. Here's the water bottle

6:43image. Elevate your hydration all day,

6:46everywhere. Got some features. Stay

6:49perfectly hydrated with style.

6:51Effortlessly match your aesthetic. Enjoy

6:53drinks hot or cold for hours. Here we've

6:55got the problem and then the solution.

6:57Hydration elevated. Finally, here's what

7:00you get. Built to deliver. All day

7:02thermal insulation, sleek stainless

7:04steel design, soft touch, non-slip,

7:07leak-proof, easy clean. Here's a gallery

7:09section. We've got some customer action,

7:11what customers are saying, and then

7:13here's the offer, $49. And if I click on

7:16get your Epic Water Bottle, at the

7:18moment this is going to jump over to an

7:20early access form submission. Okay, now

7:22let's jump back over to Supabase to

7:24check out how the back end is looking.

Viewing the data inside Supabase

7:26So, of course we have our four different

7:28tables right here, 1 2 3 4. So, I'm on

7:31generated funnels and wouldn't you know,

7:33we can see we have the entry right here.

7:36And if we have a look, we can see the

7:38submissions for the information. So,

7:40right here is the generated funnels

7:42table. We can see elevate your hydration

7:44effortlessly. For launch projects, we

7:46have the epic water bottle product and

7:48the product idea target customer. Next,

7:50very important, we have the leads. So I

7:52have my burner email right here that I

7:54popped in and exactly when this was

7:56punched in as well. And then we have the

7:59profiles as well, which also has my

8:01contact information all found within

8:03Superbase. So that's the Superbase

8:05difference. Superbase is handling the

How Supabase powers the backend

8:08back end so the app has users, saved

8:11projects, generated funnels, and leads.

Adding a real payment flow

8:14Now we've got a landing page, we're

8:15capturing leads, and everything on the

8:17back end is being saved inside of

8:20Superbase. But there's one thing still

8:22missing. Nobody can actually physically

8:24buy the product yet. So let's fix that.

8:26Okay, I'm back over here on Lovable and

8:28I'm going to connect Stripe so that this

8:30becomes a real payment flow. Okay, I'm

Monetizing the funnel-generation service

8:32simply going to ask Lovable to add

8:33Stripe checkout to this application. Now

8:36just to recap, the lane I want to

8:38monetize is the service that my friend

8:41funnel provides. As in this app is

8:43creating a marketing landing page for

8:46the user. Here's my prompt. Update my

8:48friend funnel so users are paying for

8:50the funnel generation service. Here's

8:53the flow. The user enters their product

8:55information, they click generate funnel,

8:57before the AI generates a landing page,

8:59present two options. Generate for free,

9:02demo mode, unlock premium for $19 for

9:05the service via Stripe test mode. Once

9:08the user selects either option, generate

9:10the landing page. And then I want all

9:11this information saved on the back end

9:13within Superbase. So leads, launch

9:16projects, generated funnels, all those

9:19tables that we created. And then this is

9:21going to create and display the

9:22completed landing page that was paid

9:24for. And to clarify, this payment is for

9:26using the My Friend Funnel service, not

9:28for purchasing the particular product.

9:30For example, the epic water bottle.

9:32Enter product for your paid, generate

9:35funnel, display landing page. Okay,

9:37let's go ahead and punch this in. All

Connecting Stripe in test mode

9:38right, right away I'm going to add my

9:39Stripe secret key. So, let's come over

9:41to Stripe. Of course, you could pick a

9:43different payment service of your

9:44choosing, but I'm going to use Stripe.

9:46Now, I am on the sandbox mode. This is a

9:48testing mode, and I'm going to come down

9:50to secret key. I'm under the developer

9:52section. So, let's copy this right here.

9:55Now, in terms of good practice, just

9:56don't make sure you expose these keys.

9:58You're going to want to keep them

9:59private, but let's copy the secret key.

10:01So, click to copy, back over to Lovable.

10:04Let's pop this in

10:05and submit. Okay, we should be good to

10:07go. Let's test this out. Okay, let's

Testing a new product

10:09test this out with a brand new product.

10:11All right, going with Amber desk lamp, a

10:14minimalistic smart desk lamp with warm

10:17ambient lighting, wireless phone

10:19charging, and touch controls. Perfect

10:21for remote workers, students, creators.

10:24The pain point is desk lamps look

10:26generic, take up too much space. This is

10:28going to be a sleek aluminum desk lamp

10:30with adjustable brightness, warm and

10:32cool lighting modes, built-in wireless

10:34charging, and a compact modern design.

10:36It's going to be $89, and I want people

Stripe checkout demo

10:38to buy now. Let's generate the funnel.

10:41All right, here we go. Here's the

10:42payment step. We can go free or premium.

10:45Unlock premium. All righty, here is our

10:47Stripe checkout. We've got the My Friend

10:50Funnel premium funnel generation for the

10:53Amber desk lamp coming in at 19 US

10:56dollars.

Final app flow

11:04Okay, now here's a different looking

11:05version of my app. Of course, it is as

11:07easy as prompting in the chat within

11:09Lovable the changes you want to make,

11:11and that's going to be applied to the

11:12application. So, here's the final flow

11:14of what we did today. A user signs up,

How this becomes a real business

11:16enters their product details, generates

11:18a landing page funnel, and then we

11:20capture those leads and information with

11:22Supabase. Now, that's a real

11:24money-making app pattern. We've got

11:26users, save projects, lead capture, and

11:29a few monetization paths we could

11:31follow. Big takeaway is that Superbase

11:33helps turn an AI prototype into

11:35something real. Now, once you add user

11:37accounts, a database, say projects,

11:40leads, storage, back-end function, this

11:42turns into a system that provides an

11:44offer that you can actually pay for.

11:46Now, if you want to try Superbase out

11:48for yourself or build your own app, I'll

11:50go ahead and leave the links in the

11:51description and pinned comment below as

11:53always. So, with all that, good luck and

Final thoughts

11:55have fun with your creations.
