0:00hey guys we are stuck here in the
0:02Dominican Republic waiting on boat parts
0:04and there's just not a lot to do so this
0:07week I decided to do something a little
0:08different we've been traveling for 8
0:11years and have visited 54 countries not
0:13all of them by boat of course I've put
0:15together a video diary of the top 10
0:19favorite places we have ever been now
0:21remember we have been to so many places
0:23in 8 years of traveling we have been to
0:25tourist attractions and monuments and
0:28and all sorts of places that most people
0:30only dream about going but this list for
0:32us is personal where the whole package
0:35was memorable or significant to us as a
0:38liveboard cruising family so let's get
0:40started coming in at number 10 are the
#10 The Maldives
0:43malds an Indian Ocean island chain
0:45situated at the southern tip of the
0:47country of India the maldiv consist of
0:4926 atoles and are known for the
0:52absolutely breathtaking Blue Water sunny
0:54skies and hundreds of world famous
0:57Resorts with a wide variety of coral and
1:00underwater life we literally swam with
1:02sharks stingrays and had an amazing time
1:06here we arrived in the MDES in October
1:08of 2021 just as the world was starting
1:10to open up after covid-19 and
1:13participated in the first ever mald
1:14yacht rally we learned about the culture
1:16of the maldivian people explored the
1:18towns and the farms and learned all
1:20about the Muslim people and their
1:22religion of Islam we made some good
1:24friends did lots of dancing and spent
1:26lots of time in the crystal clear water
1:29we spent about 4 months total here and
1:31made some great memories that we'll
1:32never
1:34forget coming in at number nine is
#9 Greece
1:36Greece the beautiful Mediterranean
1:38country known for its beaches epic
1:40Cliffs and Rich history we've been here
1:43twice in8 years and had an extra crew of
1:45five while here in June of
1:462023 we explored underwater caves and
1:49tunnels learned about the significance
1:52of this cradle of civilization and its
1:54contribution to western philosophy
1:56democracy and literature we explored the
1:59small town towns and the large monuments
2:01we've left a part of our hearts in
2:03Greece as most of our more memorable
2:05times were not because of the places we
2:07saw but because of the people we were
2:11with number eight on our list is the
#8 Iceland
2:14volcanic island of Iceland no we didn't
2:17travel by boat but flew over and spent 2
2:19weeks driving around the entire Island
2:22Iceland is defined by its dramatic
2:24landscape of volcanoes black sandy
2:26beaches and thousands of enormous
2:28waterfalls with we saw and walked
2:30through several dozen waterfalls on our
2:322E self-drive
2:34tour we took a boat ride through a
2:36glacier Lake and learned how the massive
2:38ice caps are quickly melting we hiked
2:41through breathtaking ice caves and out
2:43onto an actual Glacier my
2:47God Keith Jack and Kate swam and scuba
2:51dived in the silfur rift some of the
2:53coldest and clearest water in the world
2:55I don't have any
2:56lips I love this so much that's cool I
2:59love this so much our two-e road trip
3:01went by way too quickly the absolute
3:04best part was finding a secret Hot
3:06Springs waterfall right next to an icy
3:08River out in the middle of
3:11nowhere it was a great family trip to
3:13celebrate my 50th birthday in October of
3:172023 number seven on our list is more of

3:27of traveling sailing Southwest across
3:29the Pacific the maresis islands are the
3:31first landmass of Sailor encounters
3:33arriving here after 21 days at Sea with

4:21late 2020 when the rest of the world was
4:23still shut down for covid-19 Fiji opened
4:26up for yis and so we basically have the
4:28entire country all to ourselves Lush
4:30mountains dip down into secluded lagoons
4:33for some of the most perfect cruising
4:34grounds we've ever experienced we've
4:37been to Fiji three different times over
4:38the last eight years and hung out with
4:40several other Cruisers and found that
4:42some of the best kiing in the world is
4:44also in Fiji specifically in a shallow
4:47Bank north of the main island a place
4:49we've dubbed zatara Flats look it up
4:52it's on Google Maps number five on our
#5 Bahamas
4:54list are the beautiful Bahamas and not
4:57because they're an absolutely gorgeous
4:58travel destination with white sandy
5:00beaches and turquoise water but mostly
5:03because they're so close to our home in
5:04the United States after purchasing our
5:07very first sailboat in 2016 the Bahamas
5:10became our inaugural destination as a
5:12full-time liveaboard family some of the
5:14best snorkeling and diving in the world
5:16is here as well as amazing caves lagoons
5:19and
5:21swim-throughs in addition to being a
5:23perfect weekend travel destination from
5:25the US Mainland the Bahamas also holds a
5:28very special place in our
#4 French Polynesia
5:31hearts French Polynesia is number four
5:33on our top 10 list dispersed throughout
5:36the South Pacific Ocean French Polinesia
5:38consists of the maresas tuamotus Tahiti
5:40borabora and hundreds of other islands
5:43and atolls after that first ocean
5:45Crossing in our monah hole we enjoyed 3
5:47months cruising through the islands into
5:49tolls of the secluded place and even
5:51though we've already showcased plenty of
5:53turquoise Waters and stunning landscapes
5:55in our top 10 so far French poly sets
5:58itself apart from the rest simply
6:00because of its remote location it's so
6:02far away from everything else almost
6:04like a hidden treasure waiting to be
6:06discovered from world-class diving with
6:09dolphins and sharks in fakarava PA to
6:12exploring the islands themselves and
6:14Inland Treasures that can only come from
6:16places that are so rarely traveled we've
6:19cruised down these islands twice
6:21occasionally encountering fellow Sailors
6:22to share the journey with and at other
6:24times relishing the adventure solely
6:26with our own family but we all agree
6:29French Polynesia is a rare gem not to be
6:34missed all right guys we made it to the
6:36top three how many of those places have
6:38you gone or do you want to go make sure
6:40to leave in the comments and let's
#3 The Red Sea
6:42finish this up coming in at number three
6:44is the Red Sea separating Northeast
6:46Africa from Saudi Arabia the Red Sea and
6:49its Gulf of akaba also borders Egypt
6:51Jordan and Israel and since so few
6:54Cruisers sail here we typically have
6:56these beautiful anchorages all to
6:57ourselves we spent about 6 months
7:00cruising up through the Red Sea and into
7:01the Gulf of akaba in 2022 an entirely
7:04new landscape to Feast our eyes on yet
7:06still some truly epic scuba diving the
7:08culture of the Middle East was a very
7:10new experience for us we met lots of
7:12really great people shared in some of
7:14their customs and traditions and enjoyed
7:16some surprisingly good food even the
7:19popular tourist spots we visited Inland
7:21which is something we typically don't
7:22like doing were a truly Unforgettable
7:25experience Egypt Saudi Arabia and Israel
7:28all had great kiding we even got to see
7:30a kite foil competition in conclusion
7:33the Middle East in the Red Sea is a must
7:35visit for any world

7:37traveler in the number two spot is
7:40Southern Africa in early 2022 we docked
7:43our boat in East Africa and took a six-

7:47Namibia batswana and Zimbabwe we went on
7:50a safari in South Africa getting up
7:52close and personal but creatures we
7:54thought only existed in the movies we
7:56drove 400 mil up through the desert to
7:58Namibia and explored the sand dunes of
8:00the Namib Desert by airplane and by foot
8:03next 700 Mi to batswana where we
8:05experienc so many wild animals just
8:07roaming around and on the side of the
8:09road it was insane we took an authentic
8:12canoe tour of the okavanga delta in
8:13batswana and enjoyed a super cool photo
8:16Safari in Zimbabwe we visited Victoria
8:19Falls by helicopter and by foot our 6

8:26do and see things that we may never
8:28again St St
8:30St oh my
8:35God oh my
8:38go among all the remarkable activities
8:41we experienced during our six we African

9:35constantly astonished at the adventure
9:37of Western
9:39Australia what makes us love this part
9:41of the world so much though is even with
9:44all the gorgeous water and remote
9:46locations of these exceptional cruising
9:48grounds were also close enough to the
9:50city for the kids to go Inland and do
9:52things they love and make friends super
9:54convenient shopping and provisioning and
9:57for us to have repairs done and parts
9:59shiing in this convenience in addition
10:01to the amazing people we met and cruised
10:03with the unmatched natural beauty of
10:06Western Australia and the ability for us
10:08to do all the things we love to do as
10:10liveboard Cruisers easily makes it the
10:12number one place we've ever
