0:00Let's clear something up right now. You

0:02do not need a fancy five-page website.

0:05You do not need a custom logo. You do

0:07not need to spend $3,000 before you've

0:10even sat with your first client. You can

0:12start your Death Duela business today

0:14for $0. Yes, 0. And in this video, I'm

0:18going to show you exactly how to.

0:21Because this is the biggest thing that I

0:22see especially new death duelist

0:24struggle with. They get stuck in the

0:26weeds. So, if this is you, that you're

0:28stuck in the weeds, that you're

0:29obsessing over the perfect website, the

0:31perfect brand colors, the perfect text

0:33stack, and the perfect bio, um, this is

0:37for you. Uh, they are important, but

0:40meanwhile, you're not talking to anyone,

0:43you're not booking anyone, you're not

0:45serving anyone because you're you're

0:47trying to wear this productivity

0:49costume, you're trying to figure out all

0:51these other things, and meanwhile,

0:54people need you. Websites don't get you

0:56clients. Relationships and visibility

0:59does. So, let's strip this all down and

1:01build something lean. And I'm not

1:04holding anything back because

1:07I just want to get you the information.

1:09So, listen very carefully. Do you

1:13eventually want a website? Sure. Yes,

1:16absolutely. It can be really beautiful.

1:18It can reflect your heart, your soul,

1:20your mission, um how bold you are, the

1:23spirituality that you bring. But right

1:25now, especially in the beginning, um

1:27especially if you don't have a website

1:29right now,

1:31don't worry about it because you don't

1:33even know what you're fully offering

1:35yet. Your packages will evolve. Even if

1:37you're an established doula right now,

1:39your packages will evolve, your language

1:42will evolve, your niche might evolve.

1:45You know, why lock yourself into a

1:47perfectly worded homepage before you've

1:50even tested anything? Most of your

1:53clients, from my experience, will come

1:55from conversations. They'll come from

1:58referrals. They'll come from being

2:00visible in your community and someone

2:03seeing your face and thinking, "I trust

2:05them." Not from Google, not from like a

2:10website. So instead of thinking, "How do

2:12I build a website?" Ask yourself, how do

2:15I make it ridiculously easy for someone

2:18to find me, talk to me, and pay me?

2:22That's the real question. And you

2:25basically need four things. That's it.

2:28Four things. You need one, a place for

2:32people to learn who you are. You don't

2:34need a novel. You don't need your entire

2:37life story. You just need enough for

2:39someone to say, "Okay, I get who they

2:41are."

2:43This could be something like um like a

2:45warm Instagram profile with a pinned

2:47introduction. Uh a Facebook page with a

2:50clear description. Um a long form

2:53YouTube video explaining your

2:54philosophy. You could have a one-page

2:57PDF introducing your services. You can

3:00have a simple link tree with a short bio

3:02at the top. So that's it. Clarity,

3:06simplicity over complexity. And those

3:09are all free things that you can use at

3:11your disposal. So if someone lands on

3:14your page, they should quickly know four

3:17things. Who you are, who you help, how

3:20you help, and how to take the next step.

3:24That's it. You don't need to sign

3:26school. You just need clarity. To the

3:29point clarity.

3:31So number two, they need a way to book

3:34you. If someone is ready to talk, do not

3:37make them email back and forth for three

3:39days. Your time is sacred, their time is

3:42sacred. Make it easy for them. You can

3:45use you can use Calendarly, which is

3:48they have a free plan. You can use

3:50Acuity or you can even clear an email

3:53that says here are my available times.

3:56Google mail also has a proposed times

3:59available or a booking link. No, you can

4:03put that link everywhere whether it be

4:05calendarly acuity or that Google link to

4:08your to your calendar. You can put that

4:11in your bio. You could put that in your

4:13email signature, your pin post, your

4:17link tree. Have one link for discovery

4:20calls and then one for paid sessions.

4:23That alone, those two clear calls will

4:26make you look professional and more

4:29importantly, it's going to protect your

4:30energy.

4:31>> [gasps]

4:32>> So number three, you have to have to

4:36have to have to have to have a way to

4:38stay connected. Not everyone will book

4:40immediately. Some people will watch you

4:42for 6 months. So give them a way to stay

4:46in your world. You can use a free email

4:49account um like through Google. You can

4:52use Mailchimp. They have a free plan as

4:55well. Uh ConverterKit, Flowesk. Uh, you

4:58can even use a simple email list sign

5:00up. You can also use Linkree as a mini

5:03homepage that includes book a call, join

5:05my email list, and download the free

5:07guide. Social media is going to do what

5:11it's going to do. The thing is, if we

5:13put everything in one bucket, you know,

5:17like social media,

5:19we've seen it all happen where we put

5:22all our eggs in one bucket and then all

5:24of a sudden, you know, take Tik Tok for

5:26instance. like Tik Tok was going to get

5:28sold and it went down for a day. And you

5:30know, when you spread yourself out for

5:33all the different social medias um and

5:36different ways that people can get in

5:37touch with you, the more easily

5:39available you'll you'll be for people to

5:42find you. But with social media, not

5:44everyone's going to see your stuff. The

5:47best way to stay in contact with someone

5:50is email. Your email goes straight into

5:54their inbox. That's like they're

5:56inviting you into their home. And yes, a

6:00website is like you inviting them into

6:02your home. And we want them to have a

6:05place that they can call, like they can

6:07find you. But for now, if you don't have

6:10the money for a website, get an email

6:12list together. That is a long-term

6:15relationship building strategy.

6:18Highly, highly, highly encouraged. Even

6:19if you start off with 20 people and

6:21they're your family members and friends

6:23who want to support you, start with

6:26something. Okay? All right. And then the

6:28last one, number four, a way to get

6:31paid. If you don't have any invoices,

6:34you have no income. So you can set up an

6:36account with like Stripe, PayPal, Venmo,

6:39Business. Okay. Set up clear payment

6:42terms like a deposit upfront, a balance

6:46due before services are complete.

6:48This isn't just about the money. This is

6:50about your energetic boundaries. I get

6:52more into that with mentorship and my

6:55course, but for now, just know that it's

7:00not

7:02it's not selfish to ask for money. It's

7:04actually very important and it allows

7:07people that layer of respect for you. So

7:10if if someone pays you, they show up

7:13differently and then so do you. So,

7:17start getting comfortable with asking

7:19for the money ahead of time. And Stripe

7:21and PayPal and Venmo are all free pages

7:25that you can use or platforms that you

7:27can use to start collecting money. Um,

7:30all platforms,

7:32no matter what you use, will have a

7:34credit card fee or a payment fee

7:37associated with that. Don't don't fret

7:40over those too too much. Those are all

7:42tax deductions. Talk to your accountant.

7:44I'm not an accountant,

7:46but talk to your accountant. Okay, so

7:50I'm going to get really technical for a

7:51minute because I I really want you to

7:55understand that there's free tools that

7:56you can use today. Um, this is more

7:59technical and I I want to share just

8:02like categories of tools that you can

8:04use and you only need one from each to

8:06start or you know, pick and choose if

8:09you're if you're you know, trying to

8:11figure out which one to use. figure them

8:14all out um and see which one you like

8:16best. Okay, but short form. I'll put it

8:20in the comments too so you can take a

8:21look at it. But here's just a

8:24comprehensive list. So for scheduling,

8:26you can use Calendarly, which they have

8:28a free uh version, but it's only for

8:30one, or you can use your Google

8:32calendar. Um for your online presence,

8:35uh you can use something like a link

8:37tree. Uh you can use a Canva landing

8:40page. You can use beacons or a stand

8:42store. Um, some of those do have a small

8:45cost to it if you want to upgrade. Um,

8:47but for the most part,

8:49it's like a mini website for

8:52communication

8:54for Zoom um or virtual meetings. Zoom

8:58has a free free um has a free plan, but

9:02you can only do a certain amount of uh

9:04minutes. I believe it's 45 minutes right

9:06now. Uh I could be wrong but um just

9:09check with that first but you can have a

9:11Zoom account for free and you know do

9:14your Zoom meetings. Another option is

9:16Google Meet. Uh that is also free. Uh

9:20for documents and resources you can use

9:23Google Docs and Google Drive. Um you can

9:26use Canva for welcome packets or pricing

9:28sheets. Those all have free plans. For

9:31your intake forms you can have Google

9:33forms or Jot Form. Both of those are

9:36absolutely free for organization. Um,

9:40you know, because we all need a place to

9:43put all of our stuff. Trello, Asauna,

9:45and Notion. Notion is one that I use.

9:48It's very versatile, but there's a lot

9:50that you can do. It can be very

9:51overwhelming, but there's a lot of

9:53people that have put templates out

9:55there, and there's already built-in

9:56templates in Notion. So, if you're not

9:59familiar with it or if you're already

10:01using it, um, just know that there's pre

10:04preloaded templates that are in there.

10:06And then for contracts,

10:09Jot Form, Panda do, docuine,

10:12even for free work, you need to have an

10:14agreement. Always, always, always. Okay.

10:19And then you can always get those um,

10:21updated if anything changes. But for

10:23contracts, highly recommend docuign.com

10:26form or pandoc.

10:29And then for accounting, because

10:31sometimes I know that that's like the

10:32biggest hurdle. Um, Wave has a free

10:36account. Stripe dashboard or a simple

10:38spreadsheet.

10:39If you like spreadsheets, [laughter]

10:42everybody likes a good spreadsheet,

10:43don't they? So, I know I just threw a

10:47whole bunch of different things at you.

10:50try to keep it simple, but this is what

10:51a simple setup might actually look like.

10:54So, let me just show you how how easy

10:56and lean this could be. So, you could

10:59have a link tree as your homepage. You

11:01can have a calendarly for booking as one

11:03of those links, a Google form for an

11:05intake that you can email to them after

11:07they've done the booking and they want

11:09to work with you. A Mailchimp for your

11:11email list and they can sign up right

11:13from your linkree. Stripe for payment.

11:16and then a Canva

11:18PDF for your welcome packet. That's it.

11:21That is a whole functioning death tool

11:23of business. There's no $5,000 website,

11:26no tech meltdown, not having to figure

11:28out all these things. Um, chances are

11:30you you are already familiar with some

11:32of these things. But the goal right now

11:35is not to look impressive. It's to start

11:38serving. It's start it's to it's to do

11:40the work that your heart is meant to do.

11:43The more you serve, this is the caveat

11:46too. The more you serve, the clearer

11:48your offers will get, the more confident

11:50you'll become and the easier marketing

11:53feels. And then through that, the faster

11:56your referrals will grow. Perfection

11:59delays your purpose. Connection will

12:03build your practice. So get out there

12:05and do the thing. And

12:08here's a little piece of doula wisdom

12:09that I like to to put out there.

12:13A website can be beautiful later, but

12:16your lifeline

12:18is conversation.

12:20Get people talking to you, get them

12:23booking you, get them paying you, and

12:25then once your income is steady, build

12:28the site. But for right now, just keep

12:31it lean, keep it human, keep it

12:32relational, uh that's the that's the

12:36best advice I will give you and make it

12:38easy for them. Um, I do plan on making

12:41this a series. I'm going to share more

12:43behind the scenes about business

12:44lessons, which is exactly what I teach

12:47in my course and my mentorship. So, you

12:49can take what resonates, leave what

12:51doesn't. Um, so yeah, if you want more

12:54deeper structure, step-by-step guidance

12:56or like real-time feedback, um, I offer

13:00mentorship like this. And, um, yeah, I'd

13:05be happy to talk with you. So, if you've

13:06made it this far, drop me a uh camera

13:10emoji in the comments. Um because today

13:14you stopped hiding behind the I need a

13:16website or I'm hiding behind

13:18perfectionism and you get to be seen

13:22and you get started building. So, um

13:26yeah. So, I'll see you in the next

13:28lesson. Okay. So,

13:31take it take take good care of yourself

13:33and I'll see you in the next one. Bye

13:35for now.
