Francesa Football Friday
0:03[cheering] Hello again everybody and
0:05welcome to the Mike Francesa podcast
0:07part of the Bet Rivers network on this
0:10uh Francesa football Friday for week
0:13number five and the transition just like
0:16the leaves change the transition has not
0:19begun. It has happened from baseball
0:23from the demise of the Yankees now to
0:25football with two big stories. One
0:29positive, one yeah, unfortunately
0:32negative. The Giants at three and one in
0:35a division that looks getable.
0:38The Cowboys off a terrible loss last
0:41night. More on that in a minute. The
0:43Eagles maybe even cashing in on their
0:46season. More on that in a minute. But
0:48the Giants at 3 and one looking to take
0:52a strangle hold or at least a foothold
0:55on the division. and the Jets
0:58trying to prove that they're improved,
1:00trying to prove that their head coach
1:02has learned something as a head coach.
1:05Uh, and finding out now that that second
1:08quarter, which looks soft, isn't as soft
1:11because the Browns improved, the Raiders
1:14improved. Where do the Jets find their
1:17W's? Where do they find them? If they
1:20don't find one this week against
1:21Cleveland, where do they find one? So,
1:23more on that later, but week five in the
1:25National Football G League began last
1:27night and it was supposed to be an easy
1:30night for the Cowboys. They came off a
1:32big come from behind win against the
1:34Texans. Big win. Offense was
1:37sensational. Lamb had an incredible
1:40game, 17 catches.
1:42They're playing a an 0 and4 Tampa Bay
1:47team that is playing with a quarterback
1:50who was not drafted, who's playing his
1:53first game ever on the road as a
1:56starter,
1:57just the second week in the league as a
2:00starter. In his first game, he looked
2:03unsure in the passing game. He ran for
2:0555 yards, but hey, now he's going to be
2:07on the road. And although he's playing a
2:08bad Dallas defense, well, of course the
2:11Cowboys are going to score and score and
2:14score and
2:17he'll make enough mistakes to make it
2:19easy. What happens? What happens is the
2:23Dallas defense, which looks like it
2:25might be worse than last year's, and
2:27that is almost a sinful statement,
2:30allowed 241
2:32yards rushing. The Bucks with their
2:35young quarterback kept the ball for 40
2:38minutes
2:40and the Cowboys turned the ball over
2:43three times
2:45on the kickoff once on a fumble, twice
2:48on interceptions, and late when they
2:50were coming down for the tying score,
2:53and it looked like they were going to
2:54get it. He drills one to Ferguson, the
2:57usually shorthanded tight end, across
2:59the middle, he not only doesn't catch
3:01it, he pops it up. It's intercepted and
3:04you saw Jerry Jones and Pickkins and
3:07others show display their unhappiness as
3:11the Cowboys sunk to two and three. A
3:14dreadful, dreadful loss for the Cowboys.
3:18Now, that's one of the themes of week
3:21five. Here are the others. Number two,
3:25it didn't take long. It actually took a
3:28week longer than I thought, but Shawn
3:29Payeyton has resumed play calling duties
3:32as they get ready to play the Chargers.
3:34He couldn't take it anymore. He tried.
3:35He tried, but he didn't go rip it out of
3:38Davis Webb's hands during the game, but
3:40he did the next best thing. He ripped it
3:43from him. And he knows how Webb feels
3:45because Jim Fossil
3:48did that to him when he was the
3:51offensive coordinator for the Cowboys.
3:53and he burned, he chafed. But you know
3:57what? He didn't complain publicly.
4:01And that was one of the things that Bill
4:04Parcels was impressed by that led to him
4:09uniting with Bill in Dallas and then
4:11becoming part of the Parcels family. And
4:15he still is to this day very much part
4:17of the Parcels family. Um the Ravens in
4:21Atlanta Sunday night, Atlanta
4:23rejuvenated obviously behind their
4:25brilliant running back and this is a
4:26battle of brilliant running backs. Um
4:30they've been different since Penn went
4:32behind center. It does not look like
4:34Lamar Jackson will play in the Sunday
4:37Naider, but it'll still be two of the
4:39great running backs in the league,
4:42including Mr. Robinson, who is leading
4:44the league with rushing with 123 yards a
4:46game. Um, the Giants can take command in
4:50the NFC East.
4:52The Eagles are having trouble. We'll get
4:54to them in a second. The Cowboys are
4:55having trouble if they beat Washington
4:57here. And remember, they've never beaten
4:59Daniels a quarterback. He's three and0
5:02against them lifetime. And they say he
5:04is full go in this game. But the Giants
5:07in Washington as an underdog, if they
5:09can win this week, they will take a at
5:13least a strong foothold on the division.
5:16Now, the Eagles, what is their mentality
5:20right now? The Eagles have injuries.
5:25They just they have Dickerson already on
5:28the IR off the offensive line. They just
5:30traded Cam Jurgens to the Ravens and
5:33Lane Johnson turns around and retires.
5:37So, three-fifths of that vaunted
5:39offensive line gone.
5:42Bsby at running back gone. Barkley
5:45probably out. Shipley probably the
5:47running back. Maybe no Devonte Smith.
5:50They're in London and they didn't leave
5:52till Friday. They go to London to play
5:54Jacksonville, which is kind of the
5:56London home team. And Jacksonville is
5:57going to spend the next two years on the
5:59road. And
6:02they're a seven and a half point
6:03underdog. Imagine that. That's how many
6:06injuries they have. Now, here's the
6:09question, though. They're two and two.
6:11They lost a horrific game last week to
6:13the Rams. They had no right losing.
6:16The last four years they're 50 and 18 in
6:18the regular season. 50 and 18. This has
6:22been a prolific winning franchise. They
6:24can take a year off and regroup or
6:27rebuild if they want. The question
6:30becomes a will they do that if the
6:33losses start to pile up and number two
6:36how many guys will they move off the
6:38vaunted eagles
6:42if they are looking at this year as a
6:44year where they're going to back off and
6:47rebuild
6:48which could be the case which could
6:50leave the division wide open for the
6:55football giants completely wide open for
6:59the football Giants. I mean, really, it
7:01is breaking very, very well for them.
7:04Washington's struggling and they could
7:06get beat by the Giants tomorrow. If they
7:08do, the Giants move to 4- one. Dallas is
7:12two and three, as you hear from my
7:15sidekick, uh, Taylor. She's in the room,
7:17of course, as always. Uh, and she just
7:21wanted to say hello. And
7:24if the Eagles lose in London Sunday
7:26morning, they're two and three. and
7:28maybe backing off,
7:32which could leave this division
7:33considering the plight of the Dallas
7:35defense. And it is horrific.
7:38I mean, broken plays, missed tackles,
7:42turning guys loose. I mean, awful. I
7:46mean, you're supposed to beat an
7:48undrafted rookie quarterback who goes on
7:50the road for the first time. He's not
7:51supposed to win.
7:54He's not supposed to be competitive, no
7:56less control the ball for 40 minutes.
7:59The Dallas defense is a joke. An
8:01absolute joke.
8:05They really thought they were going to
8:06improve it this year. They haven't even
8:09improved it a little. It actually might
8:13be worse. And that's that's saying
8:16something.
8:18Injuries
8:20all over the league.
8:22all over the league. Guys banged up,
8:25stars banged up, wide receivers banged
8:27up, running backs banged up, of course,
8:29quarterbacks banged up, defensive stars
8:31banged up. That's what you have. You
8:34have a game in London, the Eagles, who
8:37are going Friday today to London.
8:41Um,
8:42and don't seem to be very
8:46much on the mode of going forward here.
8:49It seems like they might be reassessing
8:52this season in a big way. Um, you have
8:57the Ravens Sunday night, but probably no
8:59Lamar.
9:01You have a very good Monday nighter, the
9:04Bills
9:06and the Rams. The Rams stole one in
9:09Philly. I mean, that game should have
9:11been over.
9:12Philly left the door open and the Rams
9:15ran through it and that was a I mean
9:20Philly I mean Ram the Rams were sitting
9:22on one and three. Two and two makes a
9:26world world of difference and now they
9:29get the Bills on Monday night which
9:32should be extremely
9:34extremely interesting. So lot going on
9:38week five already. It just goes. Next
9:42thing you know, it's Halloween. Then
9:45before you blink, it's Thanksgiving.
9:47Before you blink, we're doing playoff
9:49possibilities. Nothing moves. Like I
9:52mean, it really feels like, and I mean
9:55this sincerely, it really feels like it
9:58was opening week in the NFL yesterday
10:01and it's week five already. And look how
10:05much has happened. And I would say this,
10:09the league has never been
10:12more unpredictable. I mean, you would
10:15have thought that you let last night was
10:18a game right
10:20now. I would never trust Dallas as a
10:23nine-point favorite against
10:26a high school team considering how bad
10:28their defense is.
10:30But where did their offense go last
10:32night? Uh, you're telling me they score
10:3616 points against the Bucks. Why?
10:40Because they turned it over three times.
10:42Why? Because they had trouble with the
10:45blitz, which is something that Dak
10:47usually doesn't have. Lamb was bothered
10:50by some cramps or some a muscle pull or
10:54something last night because he was in
10:55and out of the game, then he was out of
10:56the game. And
10:59their vaunted offense didn't show up.
Sal and JJ
11:02Also, they didn't have the ball the
11:04whole night. Tampa had the ball the
11:06whole night
11:07and they go on to a victory. You know,
11:10I'm watching that. I'm trying to pay
11:12attention to the White Socks because I'm
11:14look just like to see the White Sox win
11:17and the White Sox have the lead. Then I
11:18turn it on and boom, home run. Boom.
11:21Ramirez two-run home run. So, I said,
11:22"Let me turn the White Sox off cuz I
11:24just brought him bad luck by splooped it
11:25onto the channel." And then they go back
11:28in front and next thing you know the
11:30game's, you know, 9 to4 Cleveland and
11:33the White Sox now have to play a game
11:34five. So that's where we are in that
11:37round. And in New York, they're just
11:42making the painful transition.
11:45Everybody's excited about the Giants.
11:48Everyone can't wait to get the Knicks
11:50back in action, but
11:53they are obviously dismayed by another
11:57year of falling short. Mark at the 17th
12:00year in a row that the Yankees
12:04have fall have fallen short
12:07or fell short in the postseason, which
12:11has become
12:13basically their new October lore. The
12:16kings of October now find October a very
12:20very hard month and
12:24it's been since 2009
12:26since they won a championship which in
12:28the world of the pinstripes is
12:33just an insane amount of time. You're
12:36supposed to, it's almost like a
12:39birthright that you're supposed to win
12:41one, at least one, hopefully more than
12:44one, but at least one every decade.
12:47You're not supposed to have a a decade
12:49without any championships. That is
12:52something that you you you don't want to
12:55happen in the Yankee century. That's not
12:57the idea. That's not what it's supposed
12:59to be about. But they have lost their
13:02way as far as the postseason goes. They
13:05still get there, but when they get
13:07there, they don't know what to do
13:08anymore. When they get there, they get
13:10there and lose. And just like it's been
13:14a long time,
13:16a long time between quests or conquests
13:21for the Dallas Cowboys. It's now been a
13:24long time between conquests for the
13:27Yankees. A very, very long time. All
13:30right, we got the regulars uh on the
13:32show this week. We'll go out to Vegas
13:34and welcome in Sean King. Uh we'll also
13:38uh see what the two knuckleheads are up
13:40to. Uh they weren't with me last week
13:43because I moved the time. That was me,
13:44not them. Uh but they should be here in
13:46a second. Sal and JJ, and we'll see
13:48what's on their mind as we get ready for
13:52uh another week of Giants and Jets at
13:541:00.
13:55I don't like when they're on the same
13:57time. Last year they were on the same
13:59time all the time because the Giants
14:00never had any prime time. This year the
14:02Giants have some prime time stuff coming
14:05up which will clear that away. But when
14:09they're on the same time it's a pain in
14:10the neck. I'd like to be able to zero in
14:12on both of them. When they're on the
14:14same time I have to admit
14:17I put the Giants on the big screen. I
14:20have to I got to be fair and I put the
14:22Jets on the secondary screen. I'm sorry.
14:24The Jets are the secondary team right
14:26now. All right. I see they're here. Let
14:28me get to let me give you uh guys 30
14:32seconds a piece. Now I know I'm not
14:34Listen, everybody with a soap box within
14:36a thousand miles of Yankee Stadium has
14:39already had a spiel. Okay, so I mean the
14:42audience can't be looking for anything
14:43else about the Yankees. It's been going
14:45on for days now. But I'll give you just
14:48for the sake of continuity. I'll give
14:51you each 30 seconds to opine on the
14:54Yankees. Go ahead JJ. You start.
14:56>> All right. I got the floor. It's pretty
14:58simple, Mike. They're stale. It's
15:00embarrassing. How many times do I need
15:02to be at Yankee Stadium watching another
15:05team celebrate on that field? I have no
15:08voice talking about it. It makes me sick
15:11thinking about it. That's all needs to
15:13be said. They're stale. The Yankees I
15:16grew up with, that is a far cry from the
15:19Yankees I grew up with. There's your 30
15:21seconds.
15:21>> All right. Uh, now everyone knows Sal's
15:24a Met fan. Uh, but go ahead S your
15:28thoughts.
15:28>> I think everybody's looking in the wrong
15:29place. Cashman Boone. How about focusing
15:33on the captain? Where is it? Aaron Judge
15:35has been the constant here since 2017
15:37and they have come up short. I know he
15:40was hurt this year, so I'm not going to
15:41get on for that. But he talks a big
15:42game. He throws his manager under the
15:43bus. He gives you that grin. He wants to
15:45let everybody know he's there and he's
15:46tough and he's big and bad. Players need
15:48to hold themselves accountable. He's the
15:50captain. Jeter wouldn't have tolerated
15:52the nonsense from those guys, those
15:54losing players like Jazz that they have
15:56on their team. Time for Aaron Judge to
15:58step up or at the very least we need to
16:00hold him accountable the same way that
16:02we do with Cashman and Aaron Boon.
16:04>> Well, I think the one thing and we all
16:06know and it's a waste of time and I
16:08don't I I I'm sorry it's not even worth
16:10discussing. Boon and Cashman are going
16:13nowhere. So we all know that the um but
16:17they have got to
16:20have some accountability somewhere in
16:22the franchise and they don't anymore. If
16:24it has to be the players rather than the
16:26manager be let it be the players. I
16:28agree with you. They can't allow the
16:31actions that go on because they set a
16:33bad tone. And let's be honest um they
16:38keep bringing in guys who melt in the
16:40big spot. I mean, the difference between
16:42the 96 to 2000 Yankees and this team is
16:47they come up big in big spots. The
16:50difference between the Dodgers and the
16:51Yankees is they come up big in big
16:53spots. They don't have any Freddy
16:55Freeman's. They don't have any Munys.
16:57They don't have guys like that. And
17:00that's the difference. And you know,
17:02listen, the only thing to me that they
17:04resemble each other is Freed and Andy
17:07Pettit only resemble each other by being
17:08male and left-handed. I mean, that's
17:10basically it. I'm sorry. I mean, give me
17:12Andy any day of the week. I mean, I know
17:14Andy like to make the money's made, but
17:17give me a break. I need these pitchers
17:18to step up and they don't step up in a
17:20big spot. And the hitters don't step up
17:22in a big spot. And and forget the
17:24fielding. I mean, the fielding's become
17:25an absolute joke. The 96 Yankees played
17:2715 games, made three errors. They made
17:29about seven errors the other night. They
17:30only got credit for four. And I gather
17:32the Yankees even politicked to keep an
17:34error off the board, which who cares? I
17:38mean, but the bottom line is they don't
17:39come up big in a big spot and they can't
17:41beat a good team. If it's not an AL
17:43Central team, they can't win.
17:44>> And Mike, on that note, how many guys on
17:46this team are progressively worse in the
17:49postseason than they are in the regular
17:51season?
17:51>> A lot. And the other way was conversely,
17:54the old days, they were better in
17:55>> Duke was way better in the postseason.
17:57Scott Roers was way better in the
17:59postseason.
17:59>> Bernie Bernie and Jeter were not home
18:01run threats in the regular season. In
18:03the postseason, they were big home run
18:04threats. That's how they played. That's
18:06how it worked. I mean, Bernie was a
18:09stone killer. He didn't say a word, but
18:11he was a stone killer in a big spot.
18:13That's the way they were. And you know,
18:15they don't have those guys anymore. All
18:17right, let's get to football. Let's
18:19start. All right, the Giants, and here's
18:22the theme. We'll get to the Jets in a
18:23minute. The Giants have a chance to take
18:26a strangle hold on this division because
18:28the Eagles, who are going late to
18:32London,
18:33are trading off their players. They're
18:3650 and 18 the last four years. So, they
18:38can take in a year off if they want into
18:40a what they think's a deep draft and a
18:43quarterback draft. They might trade a
18:45bunch more guys and take the year off.
18:47The Giants, if they can win in
18:48Washington, they could take a strangle
18:49hold on the division. I I do though feel
18:52like this is a tough spot where Daniel's
18:54coming back. You're right, Mike. This is
18:56a great opportunity for them.
18:57>> Great opportunity.
18:58>> Will they be legit a road win in the
19:01division against a team that's got their
19:03starting quarterback back? And I and a
19:05quarterback who's never lost to them.
19:07>> He's dangerous. He's going to be tough.
19:08To me, it comes down to their defense.
19:09Offensively, we know what they are with
19:11Jamus. There's been improvements here,
19:13but they're not going to beat anybody.
19:14That's not going to be their bread and
19:15butter. Their defense could, but this is
19:18a massive opportunity to really cement
19:21themselves. Not as like a, oh wow, they
19:23might back into a division win. No, they
19:25can now take this thing by going and
19:27winning this game and get to four and
19:28one. Cowboys are an embarrassment losing
19:30at home to the 0 and4 Bucks. And the
19:32Eagles, like you said, they're they're
19:33going the wrong way.
19:34>> Not only that, the Eagles might be
19:35breaking it down. They really might. And
19:37they can do that because they've won so
19:39much. They were 50 and 18 the last four
19:41years. They've been a prolific winner.
19:43They can take a year off. And they're
19:45real smart about what they do anyway. If
19:47they do it, they'll do it right. But
19:49they might turn around and trade a bunch
19:51of guys, you know, you never know, and
19:53take this year off, which would leave it
19:55wide open, wide open for the Giants, who
19:58might be the only winning team in the
19:59division by the end of the season. So,
20:01this is fascinating. Now, to the Jets
20:04for a second, this is a very Now, I
20:08don't think Glenn's going to get bounced
20:09during the season. I don't think he's
20:11got much of a chance to be back next
20:13year. Uh, and I think the GM will still
20:16be here because I think they've parted
20:18ways anyway as far as being on the same
20:20level. I told you that a long time ago.
20:21But the bottom line is they have to beat
20:25the Browns. They have to. This is a game
20:28they circle is a win when the season
20:30started. Now, the Raiders and Browns are
20:33much better than anybody thought they
20:34would be when they're coming in here in
20:35the next couple of weeks. The Raiders
20:37and the Browns this week. But if they
20:39don't beat the Browns, who are they
20:41going to beat? All right, maybe the
20:42Dolphins, but that's not enough. They
20:44need this game this week and they're
20:47banged up and I don't know if they're
20:49going to get it.
20:50>> That said though, Mike, look at the
20:51betting line for this game over at
20:53Rivers.
20:53>> I don't understand it. I thought the
20:55Browns would be favored myself. I really
20:56did. I'm surprised the Jets are favored.
20:58>> But isn't it telling though, Mike, it's
21:00a terrible spot for the Browns. I know
21:01Monkin's done a nice job. I know
21:04Deshaawn Watson's been revitalized. They
21:06think they're kings of the world all of
21:08a sudden. They just beat the Steelers on
21:10Thursday Night Football. They got extra
21:12time to prepare. I think the betting
21:14line's telling you something. If the
21:15Jets do not show up at home and win this
21:18game, to your point, where are the wins
21:20coming from? And and this is where the
21:22season unravels for people who wanted to
21:25have hope. For people who wanted to say,
21:27"Okay, this is going to be a watchable
21:28product." It's not a watchable product.
21:30You follow one and four. Sorry.
21:32>> The the Giants are playing to win the
21:34NFC East. The Jets are playing to avoid
21:36total embarrassment. Like they've
21:39already embarrassed themselves here.
21:40They're not going to have a season. We
21:41know they're no good. We know Glenn's
21:43going to be toast. You can't lose at
21:45home to the No. Fold up shop. If you
21:47lose at home to the Cleveland,
21:48>> if they lose this week, they might only
21:50win three games this year or two or
21:52three games and that's it. And that'll
21:54be good by and he won't embarrass Glenn
21:56because he likes him personally. Okay,
21:58there's a big difference between him and
22:00some of the other guys. So, I don't
22:03think they'll get rid of them him, but
22:04it doesn't matter. He won't be back. I
22:06mean, it's over. They'll be planning for
22:08next year within two weeks if this
22:10continues. So, this is a very very big
22:13game for them this week. And and
22:15frankly, I don't think they should be
22:17favored. I mean, I don't think the Jets
22:18should be favored against anybody. They
22:20had they weren't favored last year.
22:21>> Miami, Mike, we might make them
22:22favorites against the Dolphins. That's
22:24>> Well, this year they're going to be
22:25favored against the Dolphins because the
22:26Dolphins are are so bad and they've
22:28already lost some of their best players,
22:30including Aan. But the the bottom line
22:33is, I mean, that's it. I mean, the the
22:35Jets, the Dolphins, and Tennessee, you
22:38know, that's it. I mean, I don't know
22:40how the Texans are playing this badly.
22:42There's going to be heads are going to
22:43roll there too because that's a really
22:45good team and it's playing terribly and
22:47they get they get Tennessee this week as
22:49a matter of fact. But they have to beat
22:51the Browns. And you know what my gut
22:53feeling is? I don't think they're going
22:55to beat the Browns. I think the Browns
22:56are probably going to win a 13-10 game
22:58or something.
22:59>> Yeah, I I think I'd go the other way. I
23:01think I'm with JJ on that just because I
23:03they they have to win this game. I hate
23:05>> They never get a break though. Nothing
23:07ever goes right for them. And guys, the
23:10weather once again on a Sunday in New
23:12York in the tri-state area is going to
23:14be atrocious. And
23:16>> I never have problem with that because
23:17we're sitting inside watching football
23:19all day. So, let the weather be
23:20miserable on Sunday as far as I'm
23:21concerned. But for people going to be
23:23wet again and what does that mean for
23:25the game? You'd like to have Bree Hall
23:27alongside Brilland Allen. They will not.
23:30>> No, they will not. And last week, I
23:33mean, that game that's the most
23:35misleading score in the history of the
23:37NFL. that
23:37>> it's embarrassing. Bish off by 30
23:39points.
23:40>> That game was 40 to7 if you look at it
23:42statistically. It was 40 to7. They just
23:44didn't put the points up, but the and
23:46the Jets made one play, but that game
23:48was as one-sided as a football game can
23:51be.
23:52>> Yeah. I mean, they they just they're
23:53they're a total mess. But even the worst
23:55teams, and remember, last time we saw
23:56them at home, they should have beaten
23:58the Packers, who weren't very good, but
24:00they blew a fourth quarter 10-point
24:01lead. I logically speaking, I can't give
24:04you logical reasons why the Jets would
24:05win this game. can't pick the head coach
24:06because he doesn't know what the hell
24:08he's doing. I don't trust Gino Smith.
24:10The defense is average at best and at
24:12worst obviously it's a it's a civ. But
24:14still sometimes you just get that feel.
24:16It's maybe even more anti- Cleveland. I
24:18don't believe that they can keep it
24:20going. And I do believe the Jets will
24:22avoid total embarrassment. I mean I hope
24:25for goodness sake for New York.
24:26>> So you guys both think the Jets you you
24:28both are picking the Jets to win a game.
24:31Remember together each picking a game,
24:33the Jets and I'll I'll pick the Browns.
24:36I'll pick the Browns. So, we'll go
24:37differently there. All right. Uh JJ,
24:40give me your pick for the week. What is
24:41it?
24:41>> Pittsburgh Steelers, Mike, and two and a
24:43half against the Indianapolis Colts.
24:45>> I like it, too. I like it.
24:46>> I think it's an awful spot for the
24:48Colts. They just played the game in
24:49London. They didn't exactly look overly
24:52impressive.
24:52>> They would have lost that game if Marota
24:54got knocked out of the game. Absolutely.
24:56They were playing terribly early. They
24:57were playing terribly early and they got
24:59a huge break when Marota went out.
25:01Absolutely.
25:01>> And I convinced Sal Mike to bet the
25:03Colts with me. We watched that game
25:05doing Sunday morning show and I didn't
25:08feel good about it about 10 minutes in.
25:09You're absolutely right.
25:11>> Washington covers that game maybe wins
25:12that game. Mariota plays.
25:14>> I think they do. Yeah.
25:15>> Short week for the Colts coming back.
25:18Steelers licking their wounds from the
25:20Brown game. And Rogers in these home
25:22games has looked better. like he looked
25:25really good against Cincinnati a couple
25:26weeks ago. Last week against the Browns,
25:28he looked terrible. And I don't trust
25:31Indianapolis to block Pittsburgh. And
25:33Jones mobility is nowhere close to what
25:37it was last year when he was running
25:40around and got off to the hot start. I
25:41think it's a great Steelers spot laying
25:43two and a half. Mike, that's my
25:45>> I happen to agree with you. I wish
25:46Pitman was not injured. He is. Uh but he
25:49is out and maybe out for a long time.
25:52Uh, I thought he was important, but I
25:55think it'll be a big week for Medaf and
25:57Warren and for Rogers. I I I agree with
25:59you. I think the Steelers will win. What
26:01about you, Sal? What's your game this
26:02week?
26:02>> I'm going to go Sunday night with my
26:04Falcons, Mike. I Now, we don't we don't
26:06know.
26:06>> I don't think Lamar's playing. Me
26:08neither. I We don't know officially. I
26:09don't think he's going to play. They
26:11have been impressive. Now, I don't love
26:13Pennix as some stud, but all you need is
26:16a competent quarterback that's not named
26:18Cooper Rush. And look at what they do.
26:20They run the football down people's
26:23throats.
26:23>> Right now, he's been the best player in
26:25the league this year. Let's be honest.
26:27Robinson's been the best player so far
26:30for the season, first quarter season. To
26:33me, I know a lot of people want to give
26:34it to Pertie, but he's had some easy
26:37games. Robinson to me has been the best
26:40player in the league so far, averaging
26:42123 yards a game. And in a couple of
26:45games, he didn't even have to play the
26:47fourth quarter. So I mean he has been
26:50ultra even the other Robinson has been
26:53putting up big numbers. I know their
26:55running game has been crazy good and
26:58with Robinson Robinson London a good
Shaun King
27:01offensive line. You know what they
27:04they're dangerous. I have to admit they
27:06really have turned things around the
27:07last couple of weeks.
27:08>> Bill Callahan the offensive line coach.
27:10You know Mike is excellent. Look look at
27:12their blocking scheme up front. There's
27:14a difference between having good backs
27:15and a good running game. They don't even
27:17have a great line, but they're playing
27:18well and their blocking scheme is
27:20excellent. They have abu they abused the
27:22Packers in Lambeau Field and then the
27:25Saints on the road in that rivalry with
27:27the emotional return of the do not
27:30destroyed them. So returning now home I
27:32like them minus three and a half over
27:34two weeks. The last two weeks they have
27:36just they have destroyed their two
27:39opponents. I mean, they that the Packers
27:42had no idea and I thought the Saints had
27:45a great chance to beat them in that game
27:47and and needed to beat them in that game
27:48and they weren't even competitive with
27:50them in that game. I mean, Atlanta
27:51killed them. If you like running
27:53football teams, this is they they run it
27:55down your throat. They don't even have
27:56to throw. They run it so well.
27:58>> Mike, that division bet S has on the
28:00Falcons looked dead as a doornail first
28:03two weeks of the year. Little bit of
28:05life for S. He's back from the dead. He
28:07>> He is back from the dead. You know
28:08that's that's dangerous when Sal's
28:10actually winning something. [laughter]
28:11It's scary. No, the earth the earth is
28:13not right. It's not spinning on its axis
28:16correctly. When S is winning something,
28:18I mean when usually S has to be losing
28:21and complaining. I mean that's
28:22[laughter] the way the world's supposed
28:23to work. And when when his teams are
28:26doing well, okay, you know, uh and he
28:29shares the Falcons with my son Jack, who
28:31is a crazy crazy Falcon fan. And during
28:35the Falcon when they're doing well, he
28:37texts me from school every like five
28:39minutes, you know, look at the birds.
28:41Look at the birds. And you know, the
28:43last couple of weeks, he's been just
28:45crazy about how good the Falcons have
28:47looked. And they have, I have to be
28:48honest, they have. They've looked great.
28:50>> Matty Ice now running things. Jack is a
28:52bigger fan at this point than I am of
28:53the Falcons. But with Matty Ice coming
28:55back, taking over,
28:56>> you're back.
28:57>> YEAH, WITH MATTY ICE, I'M BACK. I
28:59BELIEVE IN IT. [laughter]
28:59>> BACK. Him and Jack are going to have a
29:01side text. They're going to be going
29:02back and forth now at Falcon Games.
29:04Forget it.
29:04>> These guys out on their new venture.
29:06Okay. JJ, S, we'll talk to you next
29:08week. See you later.
29:09>> Bye, Mike.
29:10>> All right. So, JJ and S, you heard from
29:12them. They both like the That's a scary
29:14thought. That is a scary thought to have
29:18both guys on the Jets on the same week.
29:20It really is. And listen, I'm not trying
29:24to tell you that Cleveland's anything
29:26special, and they're not. But they have
29:29already won three games and they've won
29:32three games in a row. And with that with
29:35a new coach, you start to build a
29:38continuity. The Jets, they would give
29:42anything to have that happen to them, to
29:45have that kind of run where they
29:47actually won a couple of games in a row.
29:50I mean, it would it would be such an a
29:52different feeling for their culture. And
29:55I have said this forever,
29:58but it is so true about this league.
30:01When a team buys in to a season and the
30:06season starts to take off in the right
30:08direction, like the Giants season has,
30:09if you've seen the Giants,
30:12the most telling thing about the Giants
30:13to me is how they've acted in the locker
30:16room after the game.
30:19And you can see this team coming
30:22together
30:24and believing that it knows how to make
30:27and the NFL is now such a different
30:30league than it used to be and that
30:32everybody is so close now and the games
30:36are always, you know, separated by such
30:40small things. You know, a pass
30:41interference call, a big turnover, a
30:44drop here and they're closer than
30:46they've ever been in the games. And you
30:49have to make plays at the end of games.
30:52That's how you win. I mean, we see some
30:55teams that are putrid on defense like
30:58Detroit. Detroit's going nowhere. They
31:01have great skill on offense. I like
31:04their coach. Their defense is awful.
31:07They don't beating anybody big or
31:09winning big with that defense. Same
31:11thing with Dallas. Dallas most weeks
31:13throws for 300 yards. Now, last night
31:15they were bad. and give give Tampa
31:19credit because Tampa came in last night
31:21and number one they stopped the Dallas
31:23running game and number two their blitz
31:27bothered the Cowboys
31:30and Jack usually is not bothered by
31:32blitz as a matter of fact he was he was
31:34one of the highest rated quarterbacks in
31:36the league against the blitz so far this
31:38year and in recent years and last night
31:40he was awful against the blitz
31:43and the bottom line is the Cowboys
31:47defense is so bad. It just destroys them
31:50having any continuity or any winning
31:53culture there. It's it's so bad when you
31:56have a unit that is
31:58bleeding that badly. You can't get
32:01anything going. And that's where they
32:02are right now. All right, we welcome in
32:04Sean King as we do each and every week.
32:06Sean, here's where I'm going to start
32:08this week. Okay, I want to start with
32:10that kid last night. And I could see you
32:12smiling because you loved that this kid
32:15went down to Dallas on the road, an
32:18undrafted rookie who was not terrible
32:21his first game, but nothing to write
32:23home about. But he last night ran an
32:27offense that controlled the game against
32:30an awful defense for 40 minutes. And you
32:33saw him on the sideline. Rookie
32:35undrafted quarterbacks playing their
32:37first game ever on the road in prime
32:39time in Dallas are not supposed to be
32:42laughing on the sideline the whole game.
32:43He spent the whole game smiling on the
32:45sideline.
32:46>> I've been inundated, Mike, with texts,
32:49emails, DMs because I wore number 10. I
32:53played as a rookie. There's a lot of
32:55familiarity there with what he's going
32:58through.
32:58>> Right.
32:59>> As I was watching the game and I got a
33:01question for you. This is the conundrum
33:04that was in my mind
33:07in 2026.
33:10Would I rather be the Tampa Bay
33:12Buccaneers trying to figure out do I
33:14have Brock Perie? Now I know Baker's
33:16there and they just paid him. Would I
33:18rather be the Bucks trying to figure out
33:21do I have my Brock Perie or would I
33:23rather be the Cowboys paying a guy 60
33:26million in my heart of hearts? I know
33:29we're never going to win a championship
33:31with him as our quarterback.
33:33>> Well, you can't do anything when you put
33:37forth a unit like they put on the field.
33:40I mean, how can they be worse on defense
33:44this year than last year? I mean, they
33:48put a lot of resources into it. They
33:50brought in a kid they thought was going
33:52to be, you know, the the next great
33:54coach. All right, listen. I don't want
33:57to bury him after four games, but let's
33:59be honest, that was a disgrace last
34:02night, what we saw from the Cowboys,
34:04turning running backs loose, turning
34:06receivers loose. I mean, getting
34:09destroyed and having a team walk on the
34:12field with a undrafted rookie
34:14quarterback and control the ball for 11
34:17and a half minutes the first time they
34:18get it. I mean, that's just absurd.
34:20Absolutely absurd.
34:22>> This is what's great about the National
34:23Football League. Two things can be true.
34:26See, when I watched the game, I saw a
34:28completely different game because I was
34:30raised to whom much is given, much is
34:32required. Right, Mike?
34:34>> So, who's making all the money?
34:37Dak Prescott right
34:38>> on third down. Dak Prescott looked like
34:41he had never seen a Todd Bulls blitz in
34:44his life.
34:44>> I agree. Last night and he usually is
34:47and he's usually good against the blitz.
34:49>> He was inaccurate. A lot of their drives
34:52weren't sustained because of his errant
34:54throws. Correct. And really, if I'm
34:55being honest about Dallas's defense,
34:58>> the officials did just as much to extend
35:00some Tampa drives
35:02>> as Tampa did.
35:03>> They did. They gave a couple of They
35:05gave him a couple of big penalties, but
35:07listen, 241 yards rushing.
35:11>> I mean, give me a break. I mean, just
35:13And how about the play where they turn
35:15him loose and he goes and and he goes
35:17down the the right side for that huge
35:19gain. I mean, just unbelievable how bad
35:23they are. And and you're right. Listen,
35:27even on the last drive, all right, I
35:30thought, why does Dak have to throw that
35:34ball that hard in that spot? Why can't
35:36he feather that ball a little bit there?
35:38I'm not saying Ferguson shouldn't catch
35:40it, but he threw that ball like it was
35:42Brett Favre. I mean, he threw that ball
35:44so hard it was unbelievable that you
35:47don't need to throw the ball in that
35:49spot that hard.
35:50>> I I agree. And I point to the Dallas
35:53offense. I think they've got leadership
35:56issues and they've got production
35:58issues. Dak has got to produce prime
36:01time TV. It can't be sensitive that
36:03somebody call what he did embarrassing
36:05because it was embarrassing. CD Lamb's
36:07got to get out of his feelings. Doesn't
36:09it seem to always coincide when he
36:11doesn't get a lot of targets all of a
36:12sudden he's got some kind of knickknack
36:14injury? I think he's pouting CD to be
36:17honest. And granted, you might not have
36:19been 100% healthy, but his
36:20>> HE GOT 17 BALLS THE WEEK BEFORE. He
36:23caught 17 passes.
36:24>> Like they've got some major issues from
36:27the guys they're spending a lot of money
36:29on, which is how I look at how teams are
36:31built and constructed. A lot of money
36:33going into Dak, CD, and pickings with
36:36the franchise tag. So to me, on nights
36:38where the defense is off, that's who
36:40should carry the Cowboys.
36:42>> All right, let me jump to the NFC East
36:44and I want to do it twofold. We'll we'll
36:47do the Eagles because they're playing in
36:49London Sunday morning. We're talking
36:50with Sean King as we do each week in
36:52Vegas. The Eagles this week, now tell me
36:57that the Eagles as collectively a team
36:59that is 50 and 18 in the regular season
37:02the last four years, a franchise run as
37:05well as any franchise in the league with
37:07as smartest front office people probably
37:09in the league or as smart as anybody
37:10else.
37:12They watch Dickensson go on IR. They
37:17watch Lane Johnson retire and then they
37:20turn around and trade Jurgens to the
37:23Ravens. Then they decide they'll take a
37:25late plane to London. It's it looks to
37:28me like they've decided we're waving the
37:30white flag. We're going to we're going
37:32to trade off the parts and rebuild for
37:33next year. I mean, what what's going on
37:35with the Eagles?
37:37>> It's in line with what I saw this past
37:38Sunday. Seven and a half minutes left in
37:41the game and Nicki decides not to kick a
37:43field goal. That would have put them up
37:4513. So, have won the game.
37:47>> It looked like they've been cuckoo for
37:48Cocoa Puffs ever since. Um, I'll say
37:51this about the Eagles. I've learned
37:53during the regular season not to look
37:55not to get frustrated
37:57with their process because as you
37:59mentioned the record, they find a way to
38:01win, but when's the last time Philly
38:03looked good in in the regular season?
38:05Maybe when Saquon was running for 2000,
38:07like they've always been up and down,
38:09uneven. There's been this undercurrent.
38:12Jaylen's not the guy. That's just how
38:14they're built, how they're wired. I will
38:16say this, and it happens with a lot of
38:19running quarterbacks when they get the
38:20big contract. They don't want to run the
38:23ball anymore. Philly needs Jaylen's
38:26impact in their running attack, and he
38:29needs to get back to being that threat
38:31that made him successful. So, again, I
38:34don't know what they're doing on the O
38:35line. Uh, from what I heard, this Lane
38:38Johnson situation has been ongoing since
38:41the offseason. So, they had to like have
38:43had some kind of preparation in case it
38:45happens. So, we'll see.
38:47>> So, the thing to do when you lose your
38:49allworld offensive linement is you get
38:52rid of another one. [laughter] I mean,
38:54geez. And now they decide to take a a
38:57fly a Friday plane to London. They don't
39:00have probably Barkley. BSB's on the IR.
39:04He's got that core muscle tear. He's
39:06gone. Shipley's now the running back.
39:09Devont Smith has got a hamstring. And
39:12they're
39:12>> Adam's been out.
39:13>> Yeah. They're playing Jacksonville. They
39:16They are seven and a half point
39:18underdogs. The Eagles haven't been seven
39:20and a half point underdogs in 10 years.
39:23>> What does that tell us based on what
39:25we've seen? Eagles plus seven and a half
39:28can't
39:28>> that they win probably, right?
39:29[laughter] Yeah. Or they lose by a
39:31point. Right. But the thing is, I think
39:34the Eagles might be have an eye towards
39:37next year. And you know, listen, we'll
39:39sell off some parts here for valued
39:41picks and we'll go into next year's
39:43draft and have a party. It almost looks
39:45like that's what they're doing, which
39:47might open this thing up big for the
39:50Giants who have a chance now with the
39:52Cowboys struggling. If they can win at
39:54Washington and they've never beaten
39:56Daniels and they say he's full boore,
39:58full. They made sure to say he's full
40:00boore. That means he's got the whole
40:02offense back. He's got You're going to
40:04see the real Daniels, which we didn't
40:06see in a long time. Now, against the
40:09Giants, that should be a heck of a game.
40:12It should be a fun game. If the Giants
40:14can win it, they take a huge huge
40:16foothold on the division.
40:19>> I agree. And they have, he's now the
40:21starter, but to me, they have the best
40:23backup quarterback, you know, and in and
40:26here's how I look at backups. You can
40:28have a guy like Case Keenum who can
40:30manage a game for one week, but if he
40:33has a start for, you know, three plus
40:35weeks, you're probably in trouble. At
40:36least Jamus gives you the upside
40:40starting talent
40:42if he's got to play for an extended
40:44period. So, I I like the Giants. I think
40:46they probably should be favored in that
40:48division if not only because of how good
40:50they're playing on defense. I mean, Arll
40:52Reese looks like the next coming to
40:53Lawrence Taylor, doesn't he? Oh, hey, I
40:56don't put anybody in that on that level.
40:58There's no that's like being the next
41:00Mickey Man, so that's not happening. But
41:02this this Arville Ree is terrific. And I
41:05heard they talked him up huge in in
41:07training camp. And I always take a wait
41:10and see because the Jets talked up
41:11Bailey and he hasn't been around yet,
41:13but Arl Ree has been sensational.
41:16Absolutely sensational. And I know they
41:19raved about him that he was on the
41:21board. They couldn't believe it and blah
41:22blah blah. So they he's been as good as
41:25advertised. I agree with that. Um here's
41:28the thing about that game and you are
41:31the perfect guy to ask this.
41:34Is Daniels can he press a button and go
41:38back to that magic man we saw two years
41:41ago in the NFC Championship game? Or
41:44does he not right now have the physical
41:47ability to do that because he's been
41:48injured or the weapons to do that right
41:51now? Can he get back to being that
41:54unbelievable player? And he was a scary
41:57good player when he led them to the
42:00playoffs. Can he be that player again
42:03this week?
42:06>> I don't think we really know, Mike. And
42:07here's why. If Mariota doesn't get hurt
42:11against the Colts the way he was
42:13playing, is Daniels even playing this
42:15week?
42:15>> I don't think he is. And if Daniels
42:17wasn't in year three of a rookie deal
42:20coming off of a uneven season because of
42:22injury, would he be playing? I think
42:25there's a lot of pressure inside the C
42:27Daniels camp that we got to put some
42:29games on film so we can get this big
42:31extension, right? And I think there's
42:33some pressure from the Washington
42:36internal people like we we got to try
42:39and win some games. Mariota's not here
42:41if it's at all possible for Daniels to
42:44play even if he's because remember this
42:45same injury put him out for the entirety
42:47of the season last year. So I think
42:50there's a little rush and a a little we
42:53got to get this done now from the
42:55Daniels camp and Washington. Can he get
42:57it done? I think we will see.
43:00>> Somebody's going to test that elbow
43:02>> right away. Yeah,
43:03>> this weekend.
43:04>> All right. It took us one week longer
43:06than we thought. One week longer. and we
43:10knew it was going to happen. It was as
43:11sure as the sun was going to come up
43:13that Shawn Peyton would be back calling
43:15the plays and he is this week against
43:17the Chargers. Now the Broncos have
43:19looked awful. They have two wins though.
43:23The Chargers have looked pitiful. They
43:25have no wins. Chargers
43:29Broncos Shawn back calling the plays.
43:32Will we see a visible difference with
43:34Shawn calling the plays?
43:37>> Absolutely.
43:39This is why if I was Davis Webb, I'd
43:40have never taken this promotion.
43:44If I was going to stay in Denver, it
43:46would not have been to replace Shawn
43:47Peyton as play caller. It's a lose-lose
43:50because you're not going to get credit
43:51if the offense is good cuz people are
43:53going to assume that Shawn's
43:55fingerprints are on it. And God forbid
43:57like what happened if it's not very good
43:59offensively, you're going to take all
44:00the blame because nobody's talking about
44:02how terrible Bo Nicks has been.
44:04>> It's like being an offensive guy under
44:06Andy Reid. There's never any credit.
44:07Absolutely. Eric Benemy can't get a head
44:10job because no matter who's got the play
44:12sheet, right, it's Andy's offense. I
44:14will say this, doesn't it seem like
44:16Denver's had the hardest schedule in the
44:18history of football?
44:19>> They have had a brutal schedule.
44:22Absolutely. Listen, you knew going in it
44:24was going to be a tough schedule, but it
44:26has been it has stacked up unbelievably.
44:28But they haven't they haven't played
44:31well at all, though. You know, they're
44:33better than they've played. They really
44:35are. So strategically, the way reason I
44:37mentioned that was of course Sean's
44:38gonna take over play calling now that
44:40they get the 0 and4 Chargers. [laughter]
44:43>> Absolutely. And what do you think's
44:45going on with Herbert now? You said to
44:47me last week, everyone will go before
44:49Herbert goes. Okay. What's going on
44:52there right now? Do you think with the
44:54Chargers?
44:54>> I think McDaniel system is a bad fit for
44:57the Chargers personnel. I think the
45:00Chargers personnel is a bad fit for
45:02Herbert. Meaning they have not done what
45:04Cincinnati did with Joe Burrow. They've
45:06not even done what Baltimore's tried to
45:08do with Lamar Jackson. Like they haven't
45:10brought in a Derrick Henry or, you know,
45:12drafted a Z Flowers caliber pass
45:14catcher. And eventually, even though
45:17Herbert's a really good guy, I think
45:19he's going to have to speak up publicly.
45:21And I think that's going to be the
45:22beginning of the end for everything
45:24around him in in LA. And I'm going to
45:27say this right now. I think 100% the
45:31Chargers have a different offensive
45:32coordinator and I think it's probably
45:34about 65
45:3635 right now. They have a new head coach
45:38next year as well.
45:39>> We're talking with Sean King. All right,
45:40we're going to play do you believe Okay.
45:43Now, do you believe in the 4-0 Vikings?
45:47>> No.
45:49>> Do you believe in the 3-1 Raiders who
45:51actually played very competitively
45:54against the Chiefs?
45:55>> Absolutely. And let me differentiate
45:57between the two. What Minnesota's doing
46:00on offense is unsustainable. What the
46:02Raiders are doing offensively is
46:04sustainable. The three tight end sets
46:06running.
46:06>> Bows is a brilliant Bows is one of the
46:08best players in the sport.
46:09>> Yes, Kubak is dialing it up. They've got
46:11a veteran quarterback in Kurt Cousins is
46:13playing really well. I don't know how
46:15Minnesota scoring points. I don't think
46:18as good as Flores is defensively, a
46:20defense can carry you in 2026 through a
46:23whole season.
46:25Ners
46:27undefeated at Seattle.
46:30Seattle's a really good team. We both
46:32feel that way. Ners have gotten off to a
46:36fair start. Their schedule's been fair
46:39but not really tough.
46:42Will the Ners win in Seattle this week
46:45or will Seattle give them a shot? I
46:47think Seattle will give them a shot. Do
46:49you think it's Niners or Seattle this
46:51week?
46:54can't make a lot of money going against
46:55the Niners. I mean, it doesn't seem to
46:57matter, right? The owners in Ohio in
47:00>> RV lots, you know, the head coach cell
47:04phones, like the half the team is
47:06injured. Like remember last year, I
47:08think it was Monday night. I mean, even
47:10Pertie was out and they beat the Rams in
47:12LA. Like, I'm going 49ers to answer your
47:15question. I think a bestr run
47:17organization in the National Football
47:19League because it doesn't seem to matter
47:22what happens. They find a way to not
47:24just win because Philadelphia wins, but
47:27it still is like this negative like
47:29y'all aren't playing well. They find a
47:30way to win and look pretty good doing
47:32it.
47:33>> The Chalk Super Bowl this year is on
47:36display this Monday night. Bills at Rams
47:39was the chalk Super Bowl this year. This
47:41was going to be Josh's year. this was
47:44going to be the Rams were unbelievable.
47:47We know how banged up the Rams have
47:48been. The Rams stole one in Philly or
47:50they're one and three, but they're two
47:52and two. They're not healthy yet. We
47:54know. Bills lost last week. Didn't play
47:57well against the Pats. Didn't play well
47:59the week before and won against the
48:01Chargers. They haven't played well in
48:02two weeks. Bills Rams Monday night. Your
48:05thoughts?
48:08>> Top two quarterbacks in the National
48:10Football League right now. Josh Allen,
48:13Matthew Stafford in that order. Meaning
48:15end of the game, fourth quarter, you
48:17give me two guys.
48:18>> So you put both of these ahead of
48:20Mahomes.
48:21>> Yes. Right now. Yes.
48:23>> Okay.
48:24>> Allan because of his physicality.
48:26Stafford because I just think he's a
48:28better natural thrower of the ball than
48:31Patrick. Now I'm not knocking Patrick.
48:33Don't take this.
48:34>> I understand that. I I understand that.
48:36And I'll tell you something. Stafford is
48:37a tremendous leader, too. He's a
48:39tremendous leader.
48:41Rams are overrated. Having said all of
48:43that, I mean, we're being honest. They
48:46beat the Giants, but Jackson Dart gets
48:48hurt first series of the game.
48:50>> If Sirriani just kicks the field,
48:52>> well, they haven't been the team that
48:53everybody thought they would be. Miles
48:55Garrett's on the shelf. You know, they
48:57they they haven't worked the Hall of
48:58Famer back into peak form. They thought
49:00they were going to have this amazing
49:03defensive line for all time. It hasn't
49:06happened yet. Naka's been hurt. He's
49:08also been troubled by off the- field
49:10stuff. So, they haven't been themselves
49:12yet, but I think the best of the Rams is
49:15still ahead. I think it's still coming.
49:17>> And when I see that, then I'll evaluate
49:19it. But right now, they're uneven. Uh
49:22they're far from looking like the NFC
49:24representative in the Super Bowl. But
49:26this will be a box office game. Two of
49:27the best quarterbacks.
49:29>> You know, the star power will be on
49:30display Monday night.
49:31>> So, is this last one with the ball?
49:34>> I think so, because Buffalo hadn't
49:37proven they can stop anybody either. So,
49:39I mean, you got to think the Rams beat
49:41the Eagles, but it was no Devonte Smith,
49:43no Dallas guarded. Squan got hurt first
49:45series. His backup Bsby got hurt like
49:47>> and they screwed up the end of the game.
49:49Otherwise, they win it. Yeah, I agree.
49:51No, I agree. The Rams haven't been good.
49:52I I to They're lucky they're not one and
49:54three. I totally agree. They stole one
49:56last week. All right. Uh last week you
49:59gave everybody Missouri. Uh they romped.
50:03Uh the week before you gave them
50:05Florida, they romped. All right. Uh,
50:07where you going this week? College, pro?
50:09Where you going?
50:10>> We are going to college. We are going to
50:13the state of Pennsylvania. We're going
50:15down to Happy Valley.
50:17>> Oh, they're not happy in Happy Valley
50:19right now.
50:20>> They were rolling along.
50:21>> They want to take Campbell out to the
50:23shed already. Hey, Campbell's found out
50:25what happens when you lose a couple of
50:27games. Lose to Northwestern and they
50:29want to run you out of the Happy Valley.
50:31>> Absolutely. But guess what, boy? A
50:33wounded lion is a dangerous animal. So,
50:36guess who's coming into town? Nothing
50:38better than Lincoln Riley on the road.
50:43>> Yep.
50:44>> UFC is unbelievable in that label. Once
50:46they get out of the cozy confines of the
50:48palm trees in the ocean, guess what?
50:51They not quite as dangerous. I'm going
50:53Nitney Lion. Small home favorite to get
50:56it done in Ha Valley. Uh, a little bit
50:59of that noise will be quieted down this
51:01Saturday.
51:02>> Sean, you bet. You know what? People who
51:04like uh Campbell better hope so because
51:07if he loses this game, they will run him
51:10out of the state. They don't take to
51:14losing well in Happy Valley as we know.
51:17Okay.
51:18>> Especially when that guy in Blackburg
51:19looks like they're going to be a nine 10
51:21win team that they didn't think was good
51:23enough.
51:24>> Hey, the bottom line is And Campbell was
51:27a guy the NFL was in love with. You
51:29remember a couple of years ago? They
51:30they were running to Iowa State to hire
51:32him. I mean, running there and boy, when
51:36he lost and Northwestern's pretty good.
51:38I watched Northwestern play Indiana.
51:39They're playing well. They're they're
51:41good this year. And who's calling their
51:43offense? Chip Kelly. Chip Kelly who was
51:46a mess with the Raiders last year. So
51:48this So Sean, who's given you the last
51:51two weeks, he's given you Florida and
51:53they romped over Miss. He's given you
51:55Missouri and they romped over Florida
51:57and now he's giving you the wounded
52:00Nitney Lions. Okay, we'll see what
52:02happens, Sean. We'll we'll see. Um, this
52:06league, the NFL has never been less
52:10predictable than it is right now. It is
52:12crazy how unpredictable the NFL is right
52:15now.
52:15>> Yeah, 100%. That's why I very rarely
52:17give out NFL picks. Anybody that bets
52:19the NFL is like a little loose
52:22[laughter] up top because it's
52:24impossible like just from week to week
52:26to know. I mean, what am I watching?
52:29>> It It is crazy. It it it you know who
52:32would have ever thought that Tampa would
52:34go in and basically bury and keep the
52:37ball 40 minutes.
52:38>> Look like the better team. Like look
52:40like
52:40>> bury him. Bury him. Bury him. I'm
52:43telling you Dallas was trying to f pull
52:45out a victory. They're down two
52:46touchdowns in the fourth quarter.
52:48Unbelievable.
52:49>> And then BS decides not to kick the
52:51field goal. What's going on?
52:53>> Which made no s I mean I mean I was like
52:55are you serious? Are are you serious? Go
52:58up 17 points. What are you thinking
53:00about? I I couldn't believe that. I
53:02could not I was like, he's going to this
53:04poor guy's going to lose this game in
53:05overtime and the owner is going to have
53:07a fit. I mean, that's all there is to
53:09it. You're absolutely right. That made
53:11zero sense. All right, Sean. We'll talk
53:12to you next week.
53:14>> Cake down in Vegas. Uh we'll be back
53:18with the Francesa 5 in just a couple
53:20minutes.
53:26>> [cheering]
