1:34story but this story is really big
1:37there's a lot of characters there's a
1:39lot of things that happen
1:40and it truly has a very very beautiful
1:44and touching ending so this is also one
1:47of my most
1:48favorite stories in the old testament

2:06all right so i'm gonna tell you what
2:08we're gonna talk about today
2:10we're gonna talk about the story of
2:12joseph
2:13and his brothers who knows the story
2:16about

2:26joseph yesterday
2:27when the chief butler and the chief
2:29baker were having their dreams in the
2:31prison
2:32and they woke up who was there to

2:36joseph but today we're going to learn
2:39more about joseph
2:40and we're going to start all the way
2:42from the beginning
2:43when joseph was a young boy and we're
2:46going to see how his whole life was
2:48lived
2:48and how god ended up working so

3:02a long time ago there was a young boy
3:06named joseph now joseph was the youngest

3:11and he was the most loved by his father

3:22he loved him so much that he would give
3:25him the best food
3:27he would give him the most money for
3:29allowance
3:30he would always give him the best seat
3:32at the dinner table

4:03but only joseph got it because jacob
4:05loved joseph the much
4:07now if you guys can just imagine if you
4:10were a brother of joseph
4:13who was loved the most by his father how
4:15would you feel
4:16i think i would probably feel pretty
4:19jealous
4:20but you know it wasn't just that joseph
4:23was treated the best
4:24joseph was also a tattletail
4:29who likes tattletails raise your hand no
4:31one right
4:33but one day the brothers of joseph were
4:37out in the fields
4:38working as shepherds but when they
4:42should have been working taking care of
4:44the sheep
4:44one of them was sleeping two of them
4:48were playing
4:50they were just having a good time not
4:52doing their jobs
4:53until joseph came and saw them from far
4:56away
4:59look at my brothers they're not even
5:00doing what they're supposed to do
5:02and do you know what he did everyone he
5:04went to his dad and he told on them
5:09this made the brothers hate joseph even
5:12more
5:13not only is he treated better but he
5:15tells on us
5:16too they couldn't believe it
5:20to make matters worse one night
5:23joseph was by himself and he went to
5:26sleep
5:27but as he slept he had a dream and in
5:29this dream
5:30the stars and the sun and the moon
5:34and everything bowed down to him
5:38when he saw this it was amazing but it
5:41didn't just happen
5:42once it happened twice in another dream
5:46all the heaves of grain in the farm
5:48bowed down to him wow
5:52as he dreamed this dream he thought this
5:55is amazing
5:56i should share this with my dad and my
5:57brother so the next morning when he woke
5:59up
6:00he gathered all his family together hey
6:02dad
6:03hey brothers guess what i had two dreams
6:07and in the dreams the stars
6:10the sun the moon they
6:13all bowed down to me but do you guys
6:16know what this
6:17means this means that you father and you
6:20brothers
6:21you'll all bow down to me one day
6:24joseph thought that they would like this
6:26dream but when they heard it
6:28they just got angry and it made them
6:31resent joseph
6:32and hate him even more joseph couldn't
6:35understand
6:38so anyways one day just like any other

6:42joseph's brothers were out in the field
6:44working as a shepherd now everyone let

7:02the best robe he told on his brothers he

7:09the brothers were out in the field

7:12but they saw joseph coming again from
7:15far away
7:16and then they started to talk
7:19hey guys can you believe joseph telling

8:49by they sold him
8:51as a slave and got rid of me
8:54joseph was gone but now they needed to
8:57tell their father
8:58jacob what just happened so
9:02they went home to their father acting
9:04like they didn't know a thing
9:06jacob asked where's my son joseph where
9:10did he go
9:11but they told him to lie that he was
9:13eaten
9:14and killed by the wild animals even
9:17though they saw how much their father
9:18cried
9:19they didn't tell him the truth they lied
9:22and watched their father suffer because
9:25they had
9:25finally gotten rid of their brother
9:28joseph

10:06best spot in the car
10:07you know if you have a lot of people in
10:09your family and you all have to get in
10:11the van together
10:12everyone wants to get the front seat
10:14right so everyone says shotgun shotgun
10:16i'm gonna get it
10:18but usually either the fastest person
10:21or the driver's favorite person gets the
10:24best seat
10:25and then everyone who doesn't get the

10:39and as they saw joseph telling on them

10:55that joseph must be out of his mind
10:57how can he say such nonsense
11:00eventually they came up with a plan
11:03we're going to
11:04kill joseph we're going to get rid of
11:06him once for all
11:08but did they actually kill joseph
11:10everyone no
11:11no they didn't kill joseph instead
11:15they beat him up they tied him up and
11:18they sent him away as a slave
11:20to egypt so if you thought the story was
11:23over
11:24it's actually just getting started
11:26joseph's story doesn't end
11:28there next joseph went to egypt do you

11:36happened to joseph
11:37after he went to egypt here he comes now
11:42oh no joseph what happened to the robe
11:45of many colors
11:47look what he's wearing everyone does he
11:49look like jacob's favorite son

11:58you know when joseph became a slave
12:02things were not easy every day he'd work
12:04in the field
12:06and he would make bricks and he would
12:08carry those heavy bricks

12:13and it was really hard because he was a
12:15slave the egyptians would treat him very
12:17bad sometimes they would whip him
12:20and beat him and spit on him and it was
12:23really
12:24difficult guys imagine what joseph must
12:28have been feeling in his heart
12:30when all of this was happening but
12:34for a while things got a little bit
12:37better
12:38joseph met one of the officers of
12:40pharaoh named potiphar
12:42and he became one of the servants of
12:44podephar he even became in charge of
12:47podephar's house
12:48now he was still a slave but things got
12:50better for a little while
12:52you know he was in charge of all the
12:54people
12:55all the property and all the money and
12:58power
12:59of potiphar so he basically lived like a
13:01normal person
13:03until one day joseph was framed
13:07does everyone know what framed means
13:09raise your hand if you know what framed
13:10means
13:11does anyone at home know i'm gonna tell
13:14you framed means
13:16someone blames you for something that
13:18you didn't do so joseph didn't do
13:21anything wrong
13:22but he was framed and then he was sent
13:25to prison
13:27now being a slave was bad enough
13:31but now joseph was in prison
13:34guys do you want to go to prison when
13:36you get older
13:38no me neither but as joseph was in
13:41prison
13:42he had the moldy bread all day he had to
13:45drink
13:46nasty stinky water and it was cold
13:49and it was dark and he was alone
13:52alright guys so now let's take a second
13:55to pause the story
13:57and let's actually see what was going on
13:59in joseph's heart
14:00at this moment now we're gonna use some

15:20that anger turned to

15:29now joseph hates his brothers
15:33and when he thought about it day after
15:36day in this dark prison
15:38there's one heart that arose in him it
15:41was a heart
15:41to want to get revenge this is our last

16:56and then the baker right joseph yeah
16:59after he interpreted their dreams
17:02one day pharaoh the king of
17:06egypt called joseph out of the prison
17:10and joseph interpreted a dream for
17:13pharaoh
17:14after joseph interpreted the dreams of
17:17the butler
17:18and the baker he was called by
17:21pharaoh the king of egypt and pharaoh
17:24called him to interpret a dream that he
17:27had
17:28when joseph gave a good interpretation
17:31pharaoh realized
17:32wow inside of joseph there is the wisdom
17:36of god
17:37i need a man like joseph by my side
17:40so do you know what pharaoh did everyone
17:42he made
17:43joseph the governor of egypt
17:48the governor wow look how he's changing
17:51his clothes
17:52he's no longer a slave or a prisoner
17:56now he is the second most
18:00powerful person in all of egypt
18:04everyone he's the number what the number
18:07two person in all of egypt
18:11guys look how his appearance changed
18:14he was now sitting right next to pharaoh
18:19making all of the important decisions
18:21joseph you really look different what
18:23happened
18:25i became governor that's right now
18:28after joseph became the governor
18:33joseph realized something because you
18:36know what
18:37after joseph became governor things
18:39started to happen very quickly like this
18:41first he realized that god was going to
18:45bring a huge
18:46famine all over the land
18:49and that he needed to prepare food so
18:52that when people have no more food to
18:54eat
18:54he could give them the food so joseph
18:56right away started to prepare the food
18:59he prepared this food and that food and
19:02then one by one
19:04he got ready for the famine when people
19:06were hungry they would come to joseph
19:08saying please
19:09give us food we have nothing to eat and
19:11he would give it to them like this
19:14and then do you know what joseph
19:15realized
19:17joseph realized something after he
19:20became governor and prepared this food

21:28it was joseph's brothers
21:32they had come all the way from their
21:34father jacob's house
21:35to get grain because of the famine but

21:46and he heard that his father was doing

21:59and joseph could no longer bear to not

22:04so one day he revealed his identity
22:08to his brothers
22:11they were shocked they couldn't believe
22:13it
22:14their younger brother joseph was still
22:16alive
22:17they were kind of happy but also they
22:20were kind of guilty too
22:22anyways they reunited with their brother
22:28they even brought their father jacob to
22:30show them
22:31his long-lost son was really still alive
22:36as they reunited they were so happy
22:41and everyone was so joyful
22:45okay now let's have joseph and dad walk
22:48off for a second
22:49and let's keep the three brothers here
22:52now
22:55i want you guys to imagine that you're
22:58in the three brothers position
23:00right now okay imagine that you've just
23:03seen your brother
23:05who you thought was dead because you
23:07betrayed
23:08but he's still alive on one side they
23:11were kind of happy
23:12but on the other side they were a little

29:14save his brothers just like he imagined
29:17he really did prepare the food for them
29:20and they really did
29:21bow down to him god worked and it was so
29:25amazing
29:26but i want to talk about
29:29what the brothers thought versus what
29:32joseph thought now you guys if you
29:35remember the story i'm going to ask you
29:36a very important question
29:38was joseph's heart towards the brothers
29:42and then the brother's heart towards
29:44joseph were they the same
29:46or different david that's right
29:50what joseph was thinking and what the
29:52brothers were thinking
29:54was completely the opposite all right so
29:57i want to bring out governor joseph one

30:51this heart wasn't the same part that it
30:53was in the beginning
30:54in fact after some time joseph's heart
30:57changed to a heart of

31:08although joseph had a heart to love his
31:11brothers
31:12the brothers in their heart what were
31:13they still thinking they were still
31:16afraid of joseph and they thought that
31:19joseph was gonna kill them
31:20now you guys is joseph's heart and the
31:23brother's heart
31:24same or is it different different
31:28it's completely different completely
31:30it's not the same at all
31:32but you know what everyone this story is
31:34just like the story
31:36of us and god you know
31:39before we all used to have a lot of sins
31:43and because of that god could not be
31:46together with us
31:47god hated sin just like how joseph
31:51hated his brothers however there was
31:54something that
31:55changed there was something that made
31:57god
31:58no longer be separate or hate us
32:01do you guys know what happened there's
32:03somebody who came
32:05and who broke down that wall of sin by
32:07dying on the cross
32:09so that way god would no longer hate us
32:11who was that
32:13jesus that was jesus that's right
32:17so now god's heart changed to a heart to
32:19want to be together with us
32:21to love us just like joseph's heart but
32:24what's the problem
32:25when you look at the brothers like
32:27justin he still
32:29thinks that joseph hates me
32:32joseph doesn't want to be together with
32:34me but is that true everyone
32:37no in his heart joseph has already
32:40forgiven him
32:42justin just needs to understand that oh
32:46joseph already forgave me joseph does
32:49not
32:50condemn me joseph does not want revenge
