0:01All right. Amen. Amen. Stay standing.
0:03[applause]
0:06Father, we thank you now that you will
0:07not be mocked. That your promises will
0:10not be mocked in our life. That your
0:13word is true. That you are the same
0:15yesterday, today, and forever. That
0:17there is no shifting of shadows with
0:19you. There is no height I can go to. No
0:22depth I CAN SINK TO. WHERE YOUR LOVE
0:24will not find me. Where you ARE NOT
0:26STRONG ENOUGH TO SAVE. YOU ARE NOT
0:28STRONG ENOUGH TO REACH DOWN. SO, FATHER,
0:30right now, I echo THE PSALMIST WHEN I
0:33SAY, "I LAY OUT THE PIECES OF MY HEART
0:35BEFORE YOU and I wait for your fire to
0:38fall." So, Father, right now over every
0:42person WHO IS HOLDING A SHATTERED HEART
0:46or holding pieces from yesterday OR
0:48PIECES FROM A PREVIOUS SEASON, RIGHT
0:51NOW, FATHER, WOULD YOU RELEASE A GRACE
0:54IN THE ROOM TO PUT THOSE PIECES on the
0:56altar of your fire,
1:00God, THAT WHEREVER WE ARE, WHATEVER WE
1:03HAVE, WHATEVER REPRESENTS OUR LIFE,
1:07WHATEVER PLACES OF HOPE OR
1:08DISAPPOINTMENT, IT. Whatever power that
1:11we receive from you, FATHER, LET US GO
1:14ALL IN THIS MORNING, placing it rightly
1:17before you. AND NOW, GOD, I ASK FOR YOUR
1:20JUSTICE TO ROLL LIKE A RIVER. YOUR
1:23RIGHTEOUSNESS TO MOVE THROUGH the room
1:25today LIKE A NEVERENDING STREAM THAT
1:27TURNS INTO A RIVER THAT TURNS INTO A
1:30LAKE THAT RUSHES INTO AN OCEAN THAT
1:33SWALLOWS UP ANYTHING AND EVERYTHING THAT
1:35STANDS AGAINST GOD'S PURPOSE, HIS
1:38JUSTICE, HIS RIGHTEOUSNESS IN YOUR in
1:40our life. Father, I thank YOU NOW
1:44[snorts] THAT YOUR PLANS FOR ME ARE YES
1:45AND AMEN. THAT YOUR PLANS FOR ME ARE YES
1:48AND AMEN. THAT YOUR PLANS FOR MY FAMILY
1:51ARE YES AND AMEN. THAT YOUR PLANS FOR
1:53THIS CHURCH ARE YES AND AMEN. THAT YOUR
1:55PLANS IN THIS HOUR ARE YES AND AMEN. AND
1:58I SAY MARIN OFFER COME LORD JESUS. COME
2:01IN MY PLANS. COME IN MY HOME. COME IN MY
2:04LIFE. COME IN MY FAMILY. COME WITH US
2:06CHURCH IN JESUS NAME. COME ON TOGETHER.
2:10WE ALL SAID AMEN.
2:13>> LET'S GO CHURCH. HIGH FIVE SOMEBODY AND
2:14HAVE A SEAT.
2:17I like hearing the sound of the high
2:19fives echoing across the room.
2:23You feel good today?
2:26>> Do you feel good today?
2:28>> Do you need a little extra coffee today?
2:33That's all right. You won't be asleep
2:34for much longer.
2:37>> [snorts]
2:37>> In fact, TODAY I WANT TO START BY
2:40sharing with you something that happened
2:41this morning in my house that I believe
2:44is a prophetic sign. Early this morning,
2:48I started to hear this noise go off. And
2:51it wasn't a bell and it wasn't a beeping
2:55and it wasn't an alarm. It sounded like
3:00a gear grinding against a bell making
3:03the loudest noise. I quickly got up and
3:06looked in my room, assuming it was me.
3:10I went over and unplugged my air
3:11purifier,
3:13certain that that was it.
3:16When it didn't stop, I thought, "Oh, I
3:18didn't know this had a reserved
3:19battery."
3:22And what I realized is that the sound
3:25was coming from the hallway. And when I
3:27went out into the hallway, what I saw
3:30was a smoke detector that I, in my
3:32wisdom, in a previous time, had already
3:36dismantled.
3:37Anybody with me? I took the battery out
3:40probably about 4:00 in the morning. I
3:42ripped that thing off the wall. probably
3:45a little bit of anger, a little bit of
3:46haste, a little bit of sleep, all
3:48combining, you know, and it was just
3:50sitting there kind of the bare parts,
3:53the guts of the fire alarm was there.
3:56And some of you dads are like,
4:01"We're going to have to form a committee
4:02and come over to your house. It's
4:03clearly not safe for you." And you want
4:04to know what? You're not totally wrong.
4:07However,
4:11this noise was emitting. There's no
4:13battery.
4:15The cover's off of it. All the other
4:17parts where you can reset the alarm have
4:19been removed.
4:21And I looked up and I saw this little
4:22silver cylinder sitting up there. And it
4:24had two wires because the previous
4:27homeowner,
4:29unlike me, had hardwired
4:32the smoke detector into the wall. I
4:36couldn't I didn't have the other parts
4:37to turn it off. So,
4:40in good good way that I am, caretaker of
4:44my home, I reached up and took that
4:46silver part that was ringing and
4:48completely ripped it out of the wall off
4:50of the wires, set it down on the
4:52counter, and went back into my room. And
4:54as uh we were here this morning in
4:57worship, I prayed it in our pre-ervice
4:59prayer, but I was reminded of it again
5:02this morning that the Lord is saying,
5:05and we've been declaring this for weeks.
5:07And Pastor Amy prayed it, but he is
5:10declaring, "Wake up, O wake up, O
5:13sleeper." In fact, I believe that that
5:15was like a prophetic sign actually
5:18saying, "I'm sounding the alarm to wake
5:21up my bride. Wake up my people who have
5:24been asleep. Wake up my people who have
5:27previously dismantled things in their
5:31Christian walk with the Lord
5:35because they did not want to live in it.
5:38And they just were tired of it. And
5:40maybe you're sitting here today or maybe
5:41you're watching online and you can
5:43relate to this. Maybe you had a previous
5:45experience,
5:47a previous fire that was burning with
5:49the Lord, a previous something that had
5:52happened. And you'll still keep the
5:55components
5:56of your walk.
5:58You'll still keep certain components of
6:00your faith,
6:03but there's parts where you have tried
6:06to dismantle some of the conviction and
6:09what I would really say is the calling
6:12that God has on your life. And this may
6:14not relate to all of you, but to many of
6:18you, I want to tell you that today, this
6:21morning, what happened in my house was a
6:23prophetic sign. It was a prophetic sign
6:26for you, for me. I'm going to be praying
6:29into it that God is sounding the alarm
6:33in areas of my life that I had
6:35previously written off. And God is
6:37sounding the alarm on areas of your life
6:40you have previously written off. Places
6:42of calling and identity, places of
6:45future, places of purpose where you feel
6:48like you have written them off. You've
6:50actually dismantled them and said, "I
6:52don't have to say yes to this anymore."
6:54And the Lord is saying, "You don't know
6:56that your purpose and your destiny is
6:58hardwired into me and it will not be
7:01shut down." If you're standing, let me
7:03pray for you. If you're not standing,
7:04but you want to be standing on this,
7:06hurry up and jump to your feet. Father,
7:08right now in Jesus name,
7:11over every person
7:13who would stand today and say, "Father,
7:16right now, every place where I
7:18dismantled, I wrote off, or I dismissed,
7:21Father, right now, sound the alarm and
7:23wake me up. God, wake me out of a sleep,
7:26wake me out of a stuper, wake me out of
7:28a slumber. BUT GOD, DO NOT LET YOUR
7:30PLANS OR PURPOSES FOR my life go
7:34unanswered to, go unsounded, go
7:38unrelented IN MY LIFE. FATHER, LET THEM
7:41BE THAT THERE BE A RELENTLESS PURSUIT BY
7:44YOU, HOLY SPIRIT, OF THE PLANS AND
7:46PURPOSES YOU HAVE FOR ME. AND OH GOD, DO
7:49NOT LET ME BE DEAF IN THE TIME OF YOUR
7:52AWAKENING OVER MY LIFE. AND IF YOU CAN
7:55JUST DECLARE OVER YOURSELF, I HAVE EARS
7:58to hear.
7:59>> I have ears to hear.
8:00>> And I will hear what you're saying.
8:04>> Father, bless every person standing.
8:05Every person watching, every person
8:07who's sitting, but saying, "I should
8:08have stood." Bless him now in Jesus
8:10NAME. AMEN. GO AHEAD, HAVE A SEAT THIS
8:12MORNING. LOOK AT YOUR NEIGHBOR SAID,
8:13"FEELING GOOD."
8:15>> LOOK AT YOUR OTHER NEIGHBOR. SAY,
8:16"FEELING GOOD."
8:18>> Can we turn the air on a second?
8:22>> Now listen.
8:23Can let's edit this out of the message.
8:27Let's just have a family meeting. I
8:29cannot take clothes off.
8:34You can put as many on as you need to.
8:37That's right. You don't like the cold
8:39vent. [snorts] COME ON UP FRONT, YOU
8:42BACK SEAT DWELLERS. Plenty of room up
8:44here for you. We got you. All right.
8:46Now, let's get on with the message. So
8:48this morning,
8:50we're going to continue on in OUR SERIES
8:54THAT WE'RE DOING WHERE WE'RE TALKING
8:55ABOUT GOD'S ZEAL for us. REMEMBER, THIS
8:58IS ALL BASED ON the vision of our house,
9:01our prophetic vision for this year,
9:04which is John 21:17. His disciples
9:06remember that it is written, "Zeal for
9:09your house will consume me."
9:13And we have been diving into throughout
9:15the year praying through THAT GOD'S ZEAL
9:18WOULD TOUCH US and move on our life. And
9:21we've been spending the time the past
9:23couple weeks to talk about what does it
9:25mean to be in alignment with God's zeal
9:29and God's prophetic vision over the
9:31house. Now, if you're a visitor today,
9:34if you're watching online, if you're not
9:36sure if this is your home, that's okay
9:38because you're sitting in the house. We
9:41believe that there's an extension of
9:42this grace and anointing to come over
9:44you today. But if you call Kingdom
9:46Culture Church your home, we want you to
9:48buckle up and dial in on this. Get your
9:50notes ready to go because this is part
9:53of our rights and this is part of our
9:55authority that God is releasing over
9:58this house that this year we would be a
10:00people of zeal. AND WE'VE BEEN TALKING
10:03ABOUT that and learning about that. But
10:05right now in this season, we're learning
10:07about what God's zeal for us. And we've
10:10been talking ABOUT THIS THAT GOD'S ZEAL
10:11IS as the shield,
10:14the cloak, and the altar. Last week, we
10:18talked about God's zeal as the shield.
10:21This week, WE'RE GOING TO TALK ABOUT
10:23GOD'S ZEAL AS THE CLOAK over our life.
10:27Now, I did not plan this,
10:30although it will really seem like I did.
10:33But today, on the last day of our 28 day
10:35season of fasting, today at sunset
10:37starts the day of atonement or yam
10:40kapor, which is considered one of the
10:43most or the most holy celebrations
10:47in the Jewish calendar. This day is a
10:51day for repentance.
10:53This day is a day for turning to the
10:54Lord, for remembering who he is and his
10:57sacrifice, for contending and asking him
11:00to move on our behalf. What is
11:04incredible is that the Hebrew word for
11:07atonement or kap yam kapor part of that
11:10definition is kafar which means to cover
11:14over or to reconcile. So today on the
11:18day of atonement, on the 28th day of our
11:21fast, the day of atonement starting
11:24tonight, we as a church are gathered
11:26together to learn about God's zeal for
11:29us as a cloak to cover and wash over us.
11:34This has been something that's been over
11:352,000 years
11:37being pulled together by heaven and
11:40earth. So, if you think you're here
11:42today by accident,
11:44you think you're here today just
11:46because, you think you're here today
11:48because you were obligated to be here, I
11:52want you to know that you are here by
11:55divine appointment. And you are
11:57listening, whether you're listening
11:58tonight or you're listening at home or
12:01you're listening later, this is a divine
12:03appointment sermon today. And I could
12:06you could be like, you could say that
12:07every Sunday. You You're right. I could
12:09because that's how I approach every
12:11single Sunday. And some of you say to me
12:13every Sunday, "Boy, that message was
12:15just for me." In fact, that last week I
12:17heard that from so many. Felt like you
12:19were just talking to me last week. But
12:22today, I believe that the journey we're
12:25about to take is going to radically
12:29change many of our lives. Well, you say
12:31that every Sunday. You're right. BUT DO
12:34YOU WANT TO GO TO THE CHURCH WHERE THE
12:35PREACHER'S LIKE, "WELL,
12:38today's message has got about 7% potency
12:40to it." So, give or take. It's more of a
12:42greeting card suggestion, a skit, a
12:45meme.
12:48[laughter]
12:50You sure don't. All right. So, look at
12:52your neighbor. Say, "Buckle up."
12:54>> Look at your other neighbor. Say,
12:55"Buckle up."
12:57>> All right. Are we ready?
12:59>> The cloak. Let's understand this. the
13:01cloak or in the word we read this phrase
13:04to be clothed multiple times throughout
13:08scripture. We don't just read it when
13:10we're talking about God's zeal, but we
13:12see similar phrases used throughout the
13:14Bible. Clothed, cloak, or wrapped
13:18being used multiple times specifically
13:21referring to salvation
13:23and power.
13:25We also see it like in Ephesians where
13:28we're talking about put on the full
13:30armor of God. JOB 29:14, PSALM 132:9
13:35both talk about being clothed in
13:38righteousness. So we know this that the
13:41word uses this language to describe for
13:46something that can happen in our life as
13:48believers. Something that can come on
13:50us, come around us, or be a part of us.
13:53It's not just specifically set for his
13:55zeal or just specifically set for one
13:58thing, but it is often used when it
14:01talks about God coming and equipping.
14:05COME ON, SAY IT WITH ME. Equipping
14:09his people for the work of their
14:11destiny. We talked about equipping last
14:13week. If you don't know, WE ARE IN A
14:16MASSIVE season of making sure that our
14:19people are equipped
14:21[snorts] because it is ONE THING TO TALK
14:23ABOUT FREEDOM.
14:26It is one thing to sing songs that say,
14:28"I'm free. I'm free." It is another
14:32thing to live it out. You hear me say
14:35this all the time that the divorce rate
14:37in the church is the same as the divorce
14:38rate outside of the church. Seven out of
14:4110 men in the church habitually abuse
14:43pornography. Three out of 10 women in
14:46the church habitually abuse pornography.
14:49The statistics for alcohol abuse,
14:52marijuana abuse, gambling addiction is
14:55the same in the church as it is outside
14:58of the church. Do we have a problem,
15:00church? Do we have a problem? For sure
15:04we have a problem. It should not be this
15:06way. In fact, if you took stock of your
15:09own life, THERE'S PROBABLY SO MANY
15:11things where you go, "Oh my gosh, I'm
15:13better with this. I'm better with this.
15:14God has moved in my life this way." But
15:16aren't there there's those areas though
15:18where you go, "This has hung around long
15:21enough. I'm tired of this.
15:24I don't want this here any longer. And
15:28I'm going to do something about it.
15:32Bless you in Jesus name. Bless you in
15:35Jesus name.
15:38And so today
15:41we're going to dive into understanding
15:43what scripture talks about when we read
15:46about God clothing or wrapping or
15:50cloaking people and what that produces
15:53in their life. By the time we end today,
15:57just so that you know where we're going,
15:59you're like, we never know where we're
16:00going. What a gift this is.
16:04Before we end today, we're going to take
16:07time to specifically ask God to clothe
16:11us and cloak us. So, what I would ask
16:14you to do if you're watching or if
16:16you're listening in those little notes
16:18that you are taking that as Holy Spirit
16:21speaks to you that you would write down,
16:24I need to be clothed in this. I need to
16:27be wrapped in this.
16:31In fact, I think one of the most
16:32powerful things that we read about in
16:34scripture is the imagery of us being
16:37clothed in the garments of salvation
16:40and what that looks like, how that
16:43changes us. So, let's get into this
16:45today. Let's understand that what that
16:48often times when we talk about being
16:51clothed, it holds a place of new
16:54identity for us. So today's whole
16:57journey is about how the God and his
17:01zeal is pursuing us to rightly cover us
17:06and our right identity. Amen. Come on. I
17:10bless you in Jesus name. Now let's
17:12dissect how do we get there? Go ahead.
17:15Isaiah 59. We're going to start by al
17:18before we walk into how we get there.
17:20We're also going to identify what holds
17:22us back from this. Isaiah 59:1-2 says
17:25this.
17:28[snorts] It says, "Behold, the Lord's
17:30hand is not shortened that it cannot
17:32save, or his ear dull that it cannot
17:36hear, but your iniquities have made a
17:40separation between you and your God."
17:44This is about as point blank as
17:45scripture can be, can it? It doesn't say
17:47your tardiness and God's annoyed with
17:49you.
17:51doesn't say you're seller and you've
17:54missed all of God's calls. Okay, some of
17:58you know
18:00doesn't say that. Doesn't say that you
18:02know you double booked yourself or God
18:04double booked himself so somehow you
18:06missed him. The scripture is really
18:09clear. Your iniquities
18:12have made a separation between you and
18:15your God. And your sin and your sins
18:18have hidden his face from you so that he
18:22does not hear. This is wild because if
18:26you go on in the rest of this passage,
18:29what we really read is Isaiah breaking
18:31down
18:33that this people group that is being
18:35talked about is under oppression.
18:38Meaning they are separated from God. His
18:41face is removed from them. Their ears
18:44are deafened to him and they are feeling
18:46and in that place of distance. Isaiah
18:49defines that distance as oppression.
18:53He defines distance from God, distance
18:56from being near to him, the feeling of
18:58God being absent as oppression over the
19:03people. Then Isaiah goes on to say
19:05there's two reasons why oppression is
19:09happening. One, because of iniquity.
19:12Later he goes on and he talks about
19:14transgressions.
19:15So, when we go into this passage, and if
19:18you go back later and you study it, what
19:20you're really going to understand is
19:22that Isaiah is prophesying over an
19:25oppressed people group that God has not
19:29like blotted them out or smited them. He
19:32actually has been hindered from moving
19:35because of decisions and things that are
19:37happening in their life. Okay? Are you
19:39walking with me? But what about God's
19:42grace?
19:43Okay.
19:45I hear you. God's grace is the thing
19:49that makes all of this ultimately become
19:51null and void. But ignorance
19:54can allow us to falsely harbor and keep
19:58hold of something that separates us from
20:00God and not even know it. Today, we are
20:03removing the ignorance off of our body.
20:06I bless you in Jesus name. cuz I cannot
20:09have and cannot allow you to be ignorant
20:12and then be frustrated while your mar
20:14why your marriage is falling while your
20:17business isn't soaring while you can't
20:19break free from the addiction and you
20:22come time and time again and say when
20:24will this change
20:28we cannot have a people that love
20:30ignorance more than they want freedom
20:33so in order for us to turn the tables we
20:36have to bring education to the pulpit
20:38it. You with me?
20:40>> I bless you in Jesus name. You ready to
20:42lock in? Are you ready to grow? Okay.
20:45So, let's understand this.
20:48To be oppressed means this. To be
20:51treated with cruel, unjust, or
20:54heavy-handed power that crushes,
20:58uses, or burdens a person or group.
21:04Otherwise known as this, an exerted
21:07force that leaves the individual
21:09seemingly no option but to comply.
21:16Oppression. [snorts]
21:17Oppression is different than possession.
21:21Isn't that right? Let's go football for
21:23an example.
21:25When I
21:27am on defense, I am not in control of
21:30the football.
21:32When I'm on offense, I got my
21:34quarterback out there. I got my running
21:37backs out there. Who had St. Brown? A
21:39St. Brown jersey. St. Brown's out there.
21:43I got Leaporta sprinting to the end
21:45zone. I'm praying golf moves his feet.
21:50I'm praying Allen does not move his
21:53feet.
21:55When I'm on offense,
21:58I have direct control over the ball,
22:00right?
22:02I get to decide where it goes. I decide
22:03who's be it's being handed off to. When
22:06I'm on defense, I am trying to exert
22:09force on the team that has control of
22:12the ball and I am trying to stop them.
22:15So, they call I got my Dline up there. I
22:18got my big guys up there and they're
22:20rushing the quarterback and they're
22:22being intimidating and then they're
22:24getting a look at how everybody's set up
22:26and then they're calling a timeout and
22:28they're like, "Haha, [laughter]
22:29we figured out your play and then I'm
22:31rearranging everything and then I'm
22:32rushing and then we're blitzing." I
22:34don't know what that means, but I hear
22:35them say it a lot. And then when we
22:37blitz, we do things and then we stop
22:40things. CUZ WHEN WE DON'T HAVE THE BALL,
22:44we're not making decisions about where
22:46the ball goes. So the best we can do is
22:50we can put pressure on and try to
22:54oppress the other team so that their
22:57plans are stopped and their decisions
23:00are futile futile and they get
23:02frustrated and they make mistakes.
23:06Ultimately what happens when you're
23:08watching a football game and you see
23:10this at some point you start to see
23:14teams give up.
23:16This is what the power of oppression
23:18wants you to do. When the enemy comes in
23:21as an oppressor, he wants you to give up
23:24your right to decisions. He wants you to
23:26GIVE UP YOUR RIGHT TO HOW YOU'RE going
23:29to live, to how you're going to steward
23:31your freedom, TO HOW YOU'RE GOING TO
23:33OPERATE. HE WANTS YOU TO ACT LIKE YOU
23:35HAVE NO CHOICE. THIS IS JUST HOW IT IS.
23:38because the oppression is just pressing
23:41down ON YOU SO MUCH THAT YOU ARE
23:45POWERLESS AND NOW THIS IS JUST how it is
23:48and there's nothing I CAN DO AND LIFE
23:50WILL ALWAYS BE THIS WAY AND THIS IS JUST
23:52HOW IT'S GOING TO BE. SO I'M JUST GOING
23:53TO MANAGE THIS WAY BECAUSE I DON'T KNOW
23:55IF I CAN MAKE ANY DECISIONS. SO THE BEST
23:57I CAN DO IS MAKE THE BEST OUT OF A WORSE
24:00SITUATION, BUT I CAN'T CHANGE A WORSE
24:02SITUATION BECAUSE THE OPPRESSOR COMES IN
24:05TO CON YOU INTO THINKING THAT THE CROSS
24:08IS POWERLESS AND THAT SIN, THE ENEMY,
24:13ADDICTION, BEHAVIOR, PERSONALITY,
24:16HISTORY HAS MORE AUTHORITY THAN THE
24:18BLOOD OF JESUS. THAT'S WHAT OPPRESSION
24:21IS. THAT'S HOW OPPRESSION OPERATES.
24:25>> [snorts]
24:25>> NOW LISTEN, LET'S NOT BE NAIVE.
24:28Every person in here, the enemy is
24:31trying to oppress.
24:33Nobody's off the clock.
24:38Okay? [sighs]
24:39But not everybody here is subject to
24:41oppression.
24:44When you become subject to oppression,
24:47you know you're subject to oppression
24:50because you accept seasons or I'm sorry,
24:53you accept cycles of life as seasons of
24:57life.
25:00>> I'll say that again. You know you are
25:02subject to oppression because you accept
25:05a cycle as a season. What is the
25:10difference?
25:12Seasons have natural ends and natural
25:15beginnings. Cycles get triggered.
25:19Cycles are started not by God's plan and
25:24his design. Cycles get started because
25:28of decision, because of intent. And if
25:32we're all really honest, whether you're
25:35living in them now or you're not, most
25:38of us and most of the world, like
25:40literally the entire world, okay? So
25:42like don't think you're alone. The
25:45entire world has cycles that they deal
25:48with that they justify as decisions. How
25:51do we know this?
25:54Because today
25:56there's a push for people to have mental
26:00health days when they just can't do it.
26:03Now, sometimes you need a mental health
26:05day.
26:06Can I get an amen? And I wouldn't call
26:09it mental health. I would just call it
26:10like decompress, mental wellness, you
26:14know, shopping for Christmas, deep
26:17cleaning the house, catching up on
26:19laundry, whatever that day is called.
26:21Okay.
26:23But there's a whole generation that's
26:26being raised right now that's being
26:28convinced that a trigger that starts a
26:31cycle is the same thing and that they
26:34have that they have a right to that as a
26:37season. And so what we're doing is we're
26:39actually building an HR culture that
26:42protects triggers and cycles instead of
26:44putting expectation and accountability
26:46on a generation. Come on. I bless you in
26:48Jesus name. Just like that. Just like
26:52that. And you want to know what's hard
26:53about accountability?
26:55Nobody likes it.
26:58So, you're not alone. Nobody likes
27:01accountability. The worst the worst
27:03question that can be asked of you is,
27:05"Did you do the thing you said you were
27:07going to do?" The best question that can
27:09be asked when you did it is, "Did you do
27:11the thing you said you're going to do?"
27:12You're like, "Yes, I did. I did it and
27:15I'm awesome at it." How many times did
27:18YOU DO IT? ONE TIME.
27:21SO, are you a professional? I am.
27:24You know, in my family, we kind of have
27:26this thing where if you do something
27:28once during a holiday season, we call it
27:30a tradition.
27:33Just Okay. So, like last year, I went to
27:36this shopping area around here where
27:38they light up a Christmas tree and they
27:40shoot fireworks off. I didn't stand in
27:43the crowd cuz I came too late. So, I sat
27:46in my car in the parking lot across the
27:47street. Okay. All right.
27:50I called my parents. They were home. I
27:52said, "Why don't you come out and meet
27:54me?" They said, "You want us to get in
27:55the car?" And I said, "Oh, no, no, no.
27:57There's not going to be time for that.
27:58Just come and find a parking spot." So,
28:00they did. So, we watched the tree light
28:03up. I played some music. I watched the
28:06fireworks. Then, we called each other on
28:09the phone. Them in their car, me and my
28:11car. And you know what? My mom said,
28:12"This was great. This is a great new
28:14tradition. We'll do it every single
28:16year.
28:20>> [laughter]
28:28>> We were so excited
28:30about the thrill of the new experience
28:34that we were willing now to carve it in
28:37to our future. My sister wasn't there. I
28:39called her and I said, "We did the best
28:41thing tonight.
28:44We went to the tree lighting." She goes,
28:45"Oh my gosh, did you like get out and
28:47walk around?" I was like, "No." We sat
28:49in the car. She was like, "Yeah, okay. I
28:51can see that." And I was like, "Not
28:53together though, separately." She was
28:54like, "Even better. I can totally
28:57understand."
29:00And she was like, "You know what? We
29:01could drive out there and do that with
29:02you."
29:04And do what? Cuz the framework is this.
29:08We're all watching the same thing
29:09separately in our cars and then talking
29:11about it on the phone before and
29:13afterwards. BUT GUESS WHAT?
29:16The introduction of something new into
29:20the season to reinforce the season was
29:23really important to us and that's what
29:26we gravitate towards. Some of you aren't
29:29walking in seasons with the Lord because
29:31you're so caught up in the cycle, you
29:34don't know how to do the new thing to
29:36reinforce the season God is calling you
29:38to. Do do you HEAR WHAT I'M SAYING HERE?
29:41God's calling you to a season OF
29:43FASTING. GOD'S CALLING YOU TO A SEASON
29:45OF DISCIPLEHIP. GOD'S calling you to a
29:47season of pioneering. God's calling you
29:49to a season of fellowship. God's calling
29:52you to a season of stewarding
29:53friendship. God's calling you to a
29:55season of growth, to a season of
29:57breakthrough. But you cannot get there
29:59because you have confused a cycle for a
30:01season. I don't have seasons on my
30:04washing machine.
30:09I pick the cycle determined on the mess.
30:15Cycles,
30:17they have a variety to them. Seasons
30:20have an order that God lays out for us.
30:24Some of us are so addicted. Hear me. I
30:27could preach to myself on this. So,
30:29we're
30:30you are not alone.
30:33I am here with you. [laughter]
30:37We are in this together.
30:41But cycles mask themselves as seasons.
30:45And when cycles mask themselves as
30:48seasons seasons, we give the oppressor
30:51the right to hold us and trap us. So
30:55something triggers us and we decide
30:59is this going to be a lightw wash cycle?
31:03Is this going to be heavy duty cycle? Is
31:06this a normal?
31:09Is this going to be a spin? Rinse and
31:11spin. I think that's one of them. I
31:12clearly never use it. Okay. Or am I
31:16going to freak out and do a detox and
31:18get some counseling and I'm on the
31:19self-clean cycle
31:21because triggers are telling me how I
31:24should act and res and respond. That's
31:27what the oppressor does. He keeps us
31:31bound in cycles.
31:34Let's understand this.
31:36Are you with me? Are we locked? Okay.
31:40So, how the rest of Isaiah lays this out
31:43that the way oppression stays, keeps us
31:46in cycles, keeps us in triggers is by
31:49these two things. Number one, the two
31:52enforcers of oppression are one,
31:55transgression. The Hebrew word for this
31:57is pesha, a willful act of rebellion,
32:01breaking a boundary or trust. We talked
32:04a lot about this last week. The second
32:06one, which is what we're going to spend
32:08our time leading into today, is the
32:10second enforcer of oppression is
32:12iniquity or the Hebrew word Avon. Listen
32:16to this definition. A internal
32:19deeprooted perversion or twist in one's
32:23character that bends toward evil.
32:26meaning to be bent towards, predisposed
32:31to, in other words, to be subject to
32:35generational curses that have moved over
32:39time. This word iniquity biblically in
32:42the Old Testament often refers to most
32:46dominantly refers to generational curses
32:49and how they show up and carry on in our
32:52life. Exodus 24-6 says this, "You shall
32:57not make for yourself a carved image or
32:59any likeness of anything that is in
33:02heaven above or that is in the earth
33:04beneath
33:06or that is in the water under the earth.
33:08You shall not bow down to them or serve
33:11them. For I, the Lord your God, am the
33:13jealous God, visiting the iniquity of
33:17the fathers on the children, to the
33:20third and fourth generation of those who
33:22hate me, but showing steadfast love to
33:24thousands of those who love me and keep
33:26my commandments. That word to visit is
33:29the Hebrew word pad, which means to
33:32attend to, to notice, or to bring an
33:36account of. So the LORD SAYS THIS. HE
33:40SAYS, "I'M A JEALOUS GOD." AND BECAUSE
33:42I'M A jealous God, I pay attention to, I
33:45can attend to, I understand, and deal
33:48with the iniquity from the previous
33:51generations. Meaning the sin of the
33:54previous generation that produces an
33:57iniquity. GO BACK TO OUR DEFINITION OF
34:00INIQUITY. Meaning this, an iniquity, NOT
34:03JUST A SIN, A GENERATIONAL SIN, A
34:07GENERATIONAL CURSE, IS THE sin of a
34:09previous generation, unrepented for,
34:12undelt with, unattended to, that the
34:15Lord himself can attend to, THAT THE
34:17LORD HIMSELF CAN TAKE NOTICE OF, CAN
34:20BREAK OFF. BUT A GENERATIONAL CURSE AND
34:23iniquity produces itself in that three
34:26or four generations ago, this thing
34:28happened in your family line. Over time
34:31it produces this an internal deeprooted
34:35perversion or twist in one's character.
34:38So your character IS THERE. THE CROSS
34:40MAKES IT FULLY AVAILABLE. THE
34:42GENERATIONAL CURSE, the iniquity carves
34:46out a defense mechanism that that way of
34:49being should stay inside of you because
34:52it's just the way you are. THE
34:55GENERATION OF THREE AND FOUR GENERATIONS
34:57AGO. THE SIN that happened that was
34:59covered up by the next, THAT WAS NOT
35:01DEALT WITH BY THE NEXT, THAT WAS NOT
35:03DEALT WITH by the next, now finds its
35:05hiding place inside OF YOU AND SHOWS UP
35:09and that your doctor, your psychiatrist,
35:12your spouse just saying you're
35:14predisposed to
35:18being an alcoholic, being a raholic.
35:22Oh, okay. Getting a good job then losing
35:26it.
35:28Being financially stable then it all
35:29disappearing.
35:31Putting an investment out there then it
35:32goes bankrupt.
35:34Being married two and three and four
35:36times.
35:38Are you with me today?
35:41The generational curse
35:44holds us in generational cycles of
35:47perversion and twisting so that the
35:50oppressor
35:51masks himself as having possession over
35:54us.
35:56Should we take this seriously?
35:59All right. You're like,
36:01so let's understand this. In the rest of
36:03this chapter, Isaiah goes back and he
36:06describes both the willful choice,
36:09iniquities, and he describes
36:12transgressions.
36:13Then we get to a part where he talks
36:17about them in such detail that it's as
36:20if he's describing that everywhere the
36:22people look, all they are seeing is the
36:24fruit of transgression and iniquity all
36:27around them. It's their reality.
36:30Then we get to Isaiah 59:17.
36:34He says this,
36:36[snorts] "But he put on righteousness as
36:40a breastplate and a helmet of salvation
36:43on his head. He put on garments of
36:46vengeance for clothing and wrapped
36:49himself in zeal as a cloak."
36:54The Lord makes a statement
36:57that he looks at the cycles.
37:00He looks at the iniquity. He looks at
37:04the oppression.
37:06And he looks at a people trying to save
37:09themselves.
37:10And he says, "There is no way for them
37:14to do this." So the Lord says,"I
37:18will wrap myself in zeal, a fervor, a
37:24consuming passion,
37:26and I will pursue an oppressed people
37:30and bring them into freedom." Isaiah
37:3359:20-21 then says this, "And a redeemer
37:36will come to Zion, to those in Jacob who
37:39turn from transgression, declares the
37:41Lord." The last verses he says this,
37:44this is the promise. This is the promise
37:47of people who break free from iniquity
37:49and transgression when the zeal of the
37:52Lord comes like a cloak. Are you with
37:56me? This is what you get. And as for me,
38:00this is my covenant with them, says the
38:02Lord. My spirit that is upon you and my
38:04words that I have put in your mouth
38:06shall not depart out of your mouth or
38:08out of the mouth of your offspring or
38:10out of the mouth of your children's
38:11offspring says the Lord from this time
38:13forth or forever more. The Lord
38:15literally says I the Lord when I come
38:19cloaked in zeal
38:22I will come and my covering will become
38:26your covering. And when the oppressor
38:28comes to try to cover you and hold you
38:32down, it will not be able to find you
38:36because your confession will not be in
38:38the reinforcement of cycles, but your
38:41confession will be in the words that I
38:44am putting to you. And not just to you,
38:46catch this. Not just for you, but for
38:48you. And for who? For your children and
38:52your offspring. The literal answer to
38:54generational curses is right here. Do
38:56you understand? It's right here.
38:59Previously, the generations were bound
39:01by the iniquity, by the sin they weren't
39:03even born for. And the Lord says, "I
39:05will come and cloak you, and it'll be a
39:08new day for your generations." Come on,
39:09I bless you all in Jesus name. Have a
39:11seat. All right, LET'S GIDDY UP AND GO
39:13CUZ WE'RE RUNNING OUT OF TIME.
39:16We better get going.
39:18We're already late. All right, so let's
39:21understand this two. WE'RE GOING TO TALK
39:23ABOUT TWO WAYS THE CLOAK MOVES in our
39:25life. This is the cloak of the zeal of
39:27the Lord moving over our life. You want
39:30to take pictures of this, write this
39:31down. This is what you're praying for,
39:33contending for, believing for, and
39:34looking for. One, the cloak identifies
39:37us. It separates us from generational
39:41patterns or cycles as our identity.
39:44Somebody say amen.
39:46one that means when I am separated from
39:49this justice easily flows in my life
39:53because I am not paying the debt of a
39:55previous generation.
39:57TWO, RIGHTEOUSNESS BECOMES A NEW
40:00standard because I AM NOT HYPNOTIZED BY
40:03THE lies of the oppressor THAT THIS IS
40:05JUST THE WAY I am. Do you ever say that?
40:09And don't you want TO JUST BE LIKE
40:12BLAH BLAH BLAH STOP TALKING.
40:15Stop saying this about yourself.
40:22[snorts]
40:24Number three, when the cloak identifies
40:27us, we have fresh vision because we can
40:32see clearly. Some of us are lacking in
40:35vision. And I would say that one of the
40:38first things you should do if you're
40:40feeling unfulfilled in your job,
40:41unfulfilled in your marriage,
40:42unfulfilled in your life, it's not
40:44everything else, it's you. And if
40:46nobody's telling you that, let me be the
40:48first. If everything's unfulfilling,
40:50it's not everything else's problem, it's
40:53you. It's something going on inside of
40:55you. It's something God is alerting you
40:57to, waking you up to. He's sounding the
41:01alarm in the middle of the night after
41:03you thought you deconstructed it. So you
41:06have to get up out of your slumber and
41:08do some work and break out of this place
41:11so that the unfulfillment doesn't take
41:14YOU OUT. YOU WEREN'T MEANT TO LIVE
41:17UNFULFILLED.
41:19You were meant to live in PURPOSE AND
41:21PASSION AND POWER AND LOVING GOD AND
41:24LOVING LIFE AND ENJOYING the morning.
41:28Woo! I bless you in Jesus name.
41:31Number two, the cloak empowers us. It
41:36separates us from the habitual choices
41:40of chaos. Have you ever been in a
41:42traffic jam?
41:45Have you ever had a GPS
41:47and the GPS was like, "Take this route.
41:49It's 3 minutes slower. Take this route.
41:50It's about the same." And have you ever
41:52said to yourself, I
41:55know
41:57better.
41:59So I will make different choices.
42:02I will choose differently than what this
42:04thing is telling me. I will choose based
42:07on my past and based on my experience,
42:11not based on the multi-billion dollars
42:13of satellite technology that have gone
42:16into a GPS system that are tracking
42:18everything. and you are convinced that
42:20you know better and your choices are
42:23based on your past. And have have you
42:25ever gotten to the end and said should
42:27have just stayed with the route the
42:29whole time because your choice led you
42:33into habitual patterns of chaos
42:37because you were not updated equipped
42:40with the most recent technology to help
42:42you fully navigate what was available to
42:45you. When we're when the cloak empowers
42:48us, here's the three things that happen.
42:51One, trust and truth become our
42:54cornerstones. Trust and truth become the
42:56cornerstones, not just for us, but for
42:58our relationships. People say, "I trust
43:00you."
43:01You're living in truth, man. You're a
43:04trustworthy person. You trust the Lord.
43:08Suspicion is far from you. You go,
43:10"Well, I can trust. I can trust. I can
43:13trust. And I'm trustworthy." And I'm
43:16consistent
43:18boy. Yes, please make me that. Number
43:23two, your vision that you're getting
43:27from the previous one starts to birth
43:30victory. No longer are you serving a
43:34repetitive cycle hoping something new
43:38comes. But because you have been freed,
43:41you have a fresh vision. So you are now
43:44open to a new victory. A victory that
43:47was previously withheld from you.
43:49>> Are are you with me today? Are you
43:52walking with me today?
43:55>> This is like the simplest thing you can
43:57do. Where in my life am I in cycles?
44:02It's like bing bing bing bing bing bing
44:03bing bing bing.
44:06Why do I know that every single person
44:08should have an answer to this? Because
44:10the enemy is not new or creative.
44:13And this truth has stood the test of
44:15time. And your ancestors were not
44:17perfect. And God in his goodness is
44:21known as being a spirit of revelation.
44:24Meaning he doesn't just dump it all and
44:26then leave. He actually reveals as we
44:28are matured and grow and we're able to
44:30handle what is revealed to us. Number
44:33three, we establish a new inheritance
44:35for generations to come, thus breaking
44:38off the generational curses. I want to
44:42take us as we end here.
44:44Give me about seven minutes to cruise
44:46through this story. Okay? I want to
44:49cruise through the story of Gideon
44:51because I want you to see how when you
44:54are cloaked with the Lord and you are
44:57walking in partnership with this. I want
44:59you to see how these generational curses
45:02can get broken. In Judges chapter 6, we
45:06meet Gideon. And it's right around the
45:08time when we remember the story about
45:11Gideon in the threshing floor. Judges
45:136:11-12 says this. Now the angel of the
45:15Lord came and sat under the teraben at
45:18Oprah which belonged to Joash the
45:21Abizerite while his son Gideon was
45:26beating out the wheat in the r in the
45:28wine press to hide it from the
45:29Midianites. The Midionites were the
45:31oppressors. Joash's Gideon's father.
45:35Verse 12, the angel of the Lord appeared
45:37to him and said to him, "The Lord is
45:39with you, oh mighty man of valor."
45:42Immediately the angel calls out the
45:45potential of who Gideon is. In the
45:47sentence before, we literally read that
45:50Gideon is hiding.
45:52Understand this.
45:54Whatever is hidden,
45:57whatever has been hidden from previous
45:59generations, from lies of the oppressor,
46:02from shame, from whatever, from
46:04ignorance, it doesn't matter. The Lord
46:07speaks a different word over the verdict
46:09of the thing that is hidden. Period. He
46:12calls you differently. It doesn't matter
46:15what's in the closet. Doesn't matter
46:17what the previous generations have done.
46:19When the Lord speaks, he calls it
46:22differently. Judges 6, I bless you in
46:25Jesus name. Judges 6, we go on
46:28and this is when Gideon is now
46:30interacting with the Lord. And Gideon
46:33has been asking the Lord, "How are we
46:34going to get free from oppression?" Read
46:37what the Lord says to Gideon.
46:39That night the Lord said to him, "Take
46:41your father's bull and the second bull,
46:44seven years old, and pull down the altar
46:46of Baal that your father has and cut
46:50down the Ashira that is beside it."
46:54Gideon's dad, Joash,
46:57built an altar to a false god. J
47:01Gideon's dad Joash resurrected an Ashira
47:05tree which is honoring a mother spirit a
47:09mother demonic spirit on the earth. The
47:13first thing the Lord says to Gideon, do
47:15you want to GET FREE FROM YOUR
47:17OPPRESSION? DO YOU WANT TO GET FREE FROM
47:19THE CON man of your destiny? Do you want
47:22to get FREE FROM THE LIAR? THE FIRST
47:24THING, THE FIRST THING, COME OUT OF
47:27HIDING AND TAKE DOWN THE GENERATIONAL
47:30CURSES AND ALTARS YOUR PREVIOUS
47:32GENERATIONS BUILT. CUT IT DOWN. TAKE IT
47:36DOWN AND DESTROY IT. BLACK AND WHITE.
47:40BLACK AND WHITE. [applause]
47:42IT'S NOT HARD TO UNDERSTAND. COME ON
47:45NOW. BLESS YOU ALL. HAVE A SEAT. LET'S
47:47GO. THEN HE SAYS THIS. VERSE 20. AND
47:50BUILD AN ALTAR TO THE LORD YOUR GOD on
47:53top OF THE STRONGHOLD HERE WITH STONES
47:55LAID IN dew laid in due order. Then take
47:58the second bowl and offer it a burnt
48:01offering with the wood of the Ashira.
48:03Like what up flex?
48:06Do you know what I'm saying? They're
48:08like take down take down Baal's altar,
48:11then take down this funky looking tree
48:13thing and then here's what we're going
48:16to do. Build an altar to the Lord and
48:19take the altar of the old as fire
48:22>> to set you in right standing with the
48:24new. [applause and cheering]
48:27>> Come on.
48:29Like that's the Lord. That's the Lord
48:32just like he's like see I SAID EVERY
48:35OTHER GOD IS A LIAR AND A FALSE IDOL.
48:39YOU CANNOT SEE. YOU CANNOT HEAR. YOU
48:42CANNOT GIVE FRESH VISION. YOU CANNOT
48:44GIVE FRESH EYESIGHT. YOU KEEP THEM
48:46OPPRESSED AND BLIND. AND THE LORD SAYS,
48:49"HERE'S WHAT I SAY, GIDEON. SON, IN
48:52HIDING,
48:54GO TO YOUR FATHER'S ALTARS AND DESTROY
48:57THEM. AND THEN TAKE THE DESTRUCTION THAT
49:00YOU WOULD MAYBE BE TEMPTED TO GO VISIT
49:03AND REBUILD." SOMEBODY SAY, "OH, MAN."
49:07AND USE THAT destruction to fuel the
49:10altar unto me. [applause]
49:15WHAT DO YOU SAY? ONLY GOD CAN DO IT.
49:18ONLY GOD CAN DO IT.
49:20Isn't that right? NOW, COME ON, HAVE A
49:22SEAT NOW. I BLESS YOU ALL.
49:26SO, GIDEON TOOK SO, here we go.
49:29It says verse 27. So, Gideon took 10 men
49:32of his servants and did as the Lord had
49:34told him. But because he was too afraid
49:36of his family and the men of the town to
49:38do it by day, he did it by night. We go
49:41on. What happens is later the men of the
49:44village come out and they go, "Who took
49:46down our holy temple like Gideon did?"
49:49And all the men of the town, they go,
49:51"Gideon's going to be cursed and died by
49:53Baal." But then something happens. The
49:57Lord begins to move. And the Lord calls
50:00Gideon to actually gather the people.
50:03And the Lord confirms to Gideon that
50:05it's now his time to rise up and bring
50:08freedom to all the people who are
50:10oppressed. He confirms it in a dream.
50:13Don't you love that? How many of you
50:15have had a confirming dream in the past
50:16three months of anything?
50:20Okay, some of you are not raising your
50:21hand, and you should be cuz I literally
50:22just talked to you about it,
50:26but I won't look at you. I'll let the
50:28Holy Spirit do the rest of the work on
50:30that.
50:32So, here we go.
50:346:33 says this. Now all the Midianites
50:38and the Amalachites and the people of
50:40East came together. They crossed the
50:42Jordan and encamped in the valley of
50:44Jezrael. Verse 34. But the spirit of the
50:48Lord clothed Gideon.
50:52And he sounded the trumpet
50:55and the Abyiserites were called out to
50:58follow him.
51:03In the NLT, that verse says, "Then the
51:05spirit of the Lord clothed Gideon with
51:07power. He blew a ram's horn as a call to
51:11arms. And the men of the clan
51:15of Abiser came to him." The same men
51:19five verses earlier who said, "You're
51:21going to die by the hands of another god
51:23are now rallying to his cry." Why?
51:27because he tore down the altars of
51:28oppression and he made way for the Lord
51:31to clothe and empower him. Some of you,
51:35you are exhausted
51:37and you are worn out
51:39and you have tried everything.
51:41Supplements, shots, diets, IV bags,
51:44working out, eating clean, eating
51:47caffeine.
51:50And perhaps this is the answer you've
51:54been looking for. Perhaps there's a
51:56hidden altar in your camp.
52:00Perhaps
52:01there's a generational curse trying to
52:04hold on
52:06and tell you it has a right to stick
52:08around when it has no right to be there.
52:12[snorts]
52:16We go on. We get
52:20[snorts] into Judges, the beginning of
52:21Judges chapter 7. Before we get to verse
52:2415, it says this.
52:30It says that these men came and they
52:34camped around and the Lord said,
52:36"There's too many men. They'll say that
52:38the men did it, not me." And he stripped
52:4120,000 men away from Gideon.
52:44There were 10,000 left. And then the
52:45Lord went on and he said, "There's still
52:47too many men.
52:49They'll still say it was Gideon's might
52:51and man's might and not me." And he
52:54stripped another 9,700
52:58men. So what Gideon was left with was
53:03300
53:04men. Then we get to the end of the
53:08chapter and Gideon hears this
53:10instruction from the Lord. The Lord
53:13says, "I want you to take a hundred men,
53:15go down to the ones who have been
53:16oppressing you. Take a ram's horn in one
53:20hand. Take a jar and put a lantern in
53:24it. Now, it's not a glass jar. It's a
53:27clay jar. I want you to take that and
53:30put in it a little oil lamp. Take that
53:34down. I want you to surround the men.
53:38And then I want you to tell the other
53:40men, listen to the sound of my horn.
53:43When I blow my horn, [snorts]
53:45you blow your horn. And then we all
53:48smash on the ground these jars with
53:52these lamps.
53:55This is what happens.
53:57Verse 19, chapter 7. So Gideon and the
54:00hundred men who were with him came to
54:02the outskirts of the camp at the
54:04beginning of the middle watch. And when
54:06they had just set the watch, they blew
54:08the trumpets and smashed the jars that
54:10were in their hands. And then three
54:12companies blew the trumpets and broke
54:14the jars. They held in their left hands
54:16the torches and in the right hand the
54:18trumpets to blow. And they cried out, "A
54:20sword for the Lord and for Gideon." And
54:22every man stood in his place around the
54:25camp. And all the army ran. THEY CRIED
54:28OUT AND FLED. And when they blew the 300
54:31trumpets, the Lord set every man's sword
54:36against his comrade and against all the
54:40army. And the army fled as far as
54:43Bashita TOWARD ZARAH AS FAR AS THE
54:46BORDER. And the men OF ISRAEL WERE
54:49CALLED OUT TO NEPTALI AND from Asher and
54:51from Manasseh. And they pursued after
54:54Midian. Understand this. THE SOUND OF A
54:57HUNDRED CERAMIC JARS BEING SMASHED on
55:01rocks at the same time
55:04scientifically is said to have this
55:06impact.
55:08IT WILL SOUND like
55:10an overwhelming explosive crash,
55:14deafening both high frequency and
55:17high-pitch sounds with a rolling deep
55:20resonant impact that seems to roll in
55:23and not stop. Match that with explosive
55:28fire and 100 300 horns.
55:32The declaration
55:35of smashing and of tearing down and then
55:39of shouting and declaring it sets the
55:44enemy against himself
55:47and it sets the people in order. I bless
55:51you. I bless you. I bless you. I bless
55:52you. I bless you in Jesus name. In a
55:54second you're going to stand. Pastor
55:55James is going to come up. He's going to
55:56pick some bomb song to play.
56:02And in a second, we're going to do work.
56:04Are you ready to do some work? I HAVE
56:06BEEN PRAYING THAT THIS WOULD NOT BE hard
56:09because it is the grace over our house.
56:11And if there is a grace, there is an
56:14ease to it. So, YOU KNOW WHAT THE LORD
56:17SAYS? THE TIME IS NOW. And if you've
56:19WONDERED IF YOU'RE RUNNING OUT OF TIME
56:22ON GENERATIONAL CURSES, ON CYCLES, ON
56:25OPPRESSION, ON EXCUSES, ON DEPRESSION,
56:29ON ADDICTION, ON IT NOT WORKING OUT, ON
56:31YOU NOT HAVING ENOUGH, ON IT NOT GOING
56:33THE WAY IT'S SUPPOSED TO GO. YOU KNOW
56:35WHAT THE LORD SAYS? YOU ARE, [screaming]
56:37BUT I MADE A WAY. I MADE A WAY for you
56:41to be set with me.
56:44You can stay standing when you want to.
56:48THE LORD IS THE CLOAK.
56:50Moving in zeal
56:52separates us, gives us a new identity.
56:56NOT THE GENERATIONAL CURSES, not the
56:59patterns, the habits, the cycles. It
57:02separates us. And when he separates us
57:06and when he moves, he sets. And this IS
57:08WHAT HE SETS. COME ON. AS I READ THIS
57:11OUT, IF YOUR SPIRIT GOES, THAT'S WHAT I
57:14WANT. I WANT YOU TO STAND WHEN YOU HEAR
57:16IT. HE SETS US IN RIGHT ORDER. HE SETS
57:20US in right mindedness.
57:24HE SETS US IN RIGHT CHARACTER. [snorts]
57:28HE SETS US in right vision.
57:31He sets us in a path, not a pattern and
57:35not a cycle. A path that moves us
57:39forward. He sets us
57:51Right now, wherever you are, if you can,
57:54[sighs]
57:55I want you to hold your jar out before
57:57the Lord,
58:00however that looks to you.
58:07And now, Holy Spirit, would you show
58:10every person
58:14What this jar represents
58:16the altar of previous generations.
58:19Generational curses that have been
58:21hanging over their life. The
58:23generational curse of mistiming.
58:26The generational curse
58:28of not being enough of untrustworthiness
58:31of not getting it done of being
58:34overlooked of having the right ideas but
58:37never the right timing on it. Boy, I
58:39break that in Jesus name off of you. I
58:42break that off of your family line. That
58:45is not for you. That is not his purpose
58:48for you. You have the right ideas at the
58:51right time.
58:54God, right now all over this room,
58:57reveal to us.
58:59Come on. Doesn't mean your dad was a bad
59:02guy. Doesn't mean your grandpa was a bad
59:04guy. Doesn't mean your mom was bad. You
59:08don't have to pretend or you don't have
59:10to protect them and defend them anymore.
59:13But let's go. Holy Spirit, show us
59:16what's hiding in the bloodline of our
59:17ancestors. What's hiding in the
59:20generations before us? Come on,
59:21everybody. Let's go to work right now.
59:23There's grace right now. You can let
59:25your mind wander later. Or maybe not,
59:26cuz maybe the Lord's going to set your
59:27mind in right place and that won't be an
59:28issue anymore. Let's go. Let's go to
59:32work. God, show them now. Where are the
59:35generational patterns, cycles, the
59:38curses hidden that have caused a
59:40predisposed bending towards a pattern
59:43and a cycle of living that is not there.
59:46Come on, let's show them now. It doesn't
59:48matter if you have the evidence. It
59:51matters that the one who is light is
59:53showing you.
59:55[snorts] God, SHOW THEM NOW. IDENTIFY TO
59:58THEM NOW. This is iniquity. This isn't
1:00:00just a choice you're making. This is
1:00:02iniquity. This is a manipulation of you.
1:00:05This is iniquity. This is a perversion
1:00:07OF WHO I'VE REALLY CALLED YOU TO BE. OH
1:00:09MAN OF VALOR. OH WOMAN OF VALOR. I HAVE
1:00:13CALLED YOU DIFFERENTLY. AND THIS IS A
1:00:14MANIPULATION.
1:00:16AND IT WILL NOT STAND. AND IT CANNOT
1:00:18STAND. COME ON CHURCH. LET'S GO. 30 MORE
1:00:21SECONDS IN ON THIS. GOD, SHOW THEM.
1:00:28[panting]
1:00:36>> [snorts]
1:00:36>> And now, wherever you are,
1:00:40and this next minute, I want you just to
1:00:43pray this to the Lord. Lord, right now,
1:00:45I smash down the altar of and name the
1:00:49things the Lord showed you. I smash down
1:00:51the generational altar of pride. I smash
1:00:54down the generational altar of lack. I
1:00:57SMASHED DOWN THE GENERATIONAL ALTAR OF
1:01:00DEPRESSION. I SMASHED DOWN THE
1:01:02GENERATIONAL ALTAR OF ADDICTION. I SMASH
1:01:04DOWN THE GENERATIONAL ALTAR OF PRIDE. I
1:01:08SMASH DOWN THE GENERATIONAL ALTAR OF
1:01:09FAILURE. I SMASH DOWN THE GENERATIONAL
1:01:12ALTAR. I SMASH IT DOWN NOW. I THROW IT
1:01:15DOWN NOW. I SMASH IT. I TEAR IT DOWN.
1:01:19COME ON. NOT JUST WITH OUR FATHERS, WITH
1:01:21OUR MOTHERS. COME ON. LET'S GO. I
1:01:25SMASHED DOWN THAT POLE THAT TRIED TO
1:01:28HONOR A MOTHER
1:01:32WHO WAS HURT AND NEGLECTED. I SMASHED
1:01:35DOWN THE ALTAR OF A VICTIM MINDSET.
1:01:38LET'S GO. I SMASHED DOWN THE CYCLE THAT
1:01:42I INHERITED IN A GENERATIONAL CURSE.
1:01:48I SMASH IT DOWN.
1:01:51THE ALTAR
1:01:52THAT KEPT ME IN INIQUITY, THAT KEPT ME
1:01:55SICK, that has kept me in infirmity,
1:01:57that has kept ME IN BONDAGE, THAT HAS
1:02:00KEPT ME in rage, that has kept me losing
1:02:02PLACES IN MY MIND, that has kept me,
1:02:04THAT HAS KEPT ME, THAT has kept me. I
1:02:06smash it down now.
1:02:10Come on, LET'S GO TO WORK. LET'S GO.
1:02:16Leave no altra left standing.
1:02:21There is no place that the oppressor can
1:02:24hide right now.
1:02:27You may, IT MAY NOT MAKE SENSE TO YOU.
1:02:29SMASH IT. IT MAY NOT MAKE SENSE TO YOU.
1:02:33SMASH IT DOWN. Smash it down now.
1:02:37[snorts]
1:02:38I SMASH DOWN THE ALTAR OF selfish
1:02:40ambition.
1:02:42Boy, I smashed down the altar of incest
1:02:44and rape.
1:02:53Get me up for a second.
1:02:59Come on. Some of you got some sexual
1:03:01sins in your family line. Deal with it
1:03:02right now. Do not let it hide.
1:03:05Don't let it hide. Let's go. There's a
1:03:07grace in the room. Let the grace run.
1:03:10Let righteousness run like a river now.
1:03:13Come on.
1:03:15Let justice run like a river now. Let
1:03:18righteousness and justice flow down the
1:03:20mount of the Holy of Holies and roll
1:03:22like a grace over your people. COME ON,
1:03:25CONFESS THIS thing now. Make that
1:03:27declaration. I smash it down. I smash
1:03:29this down now.
1:03:31This is not mine.
1:03:34This is not mine.
1:03:36[snorts]
1:03:40And now, FATHER, I ASK THAT YOU COME and
1:03:44that you wrap every person now with the
1:03:49cloak and the clothing OF YOUR ZEAL
1:03:53[gasps] THAT IT would wrap around us.
1:03:57EMPOWER US AND EMBOLDEN US NOW.
1:04:04FATHER COME OVER EVERY PERSON. COME OVER
1:04:09EVERY LIFE NOW.
1:04:19And now wherever you are,
1:04:21I want you to just ISSUE THIS PRAYER
1:04:23PRAYER TO THE LORD. FATHER, NOW
1:04:25[screaming] I ASK
1:04:27THAT YOU SET ME,
1:04:30in right season,
1:04:33in right timing,
1:04:35in right mindset,
1:04:37IN RIGHT ANOINTING,
1:04:39IN RIGHT VISION, IN RIGHT PURPOSE.
1:04:43WRAP YOURSELF AROUND ME, OH GOD OF ZEAL.
1:04:48WRAP YOURSELF AROUND ME and set me now.
1:04:53I establish an altar to you.
1:05:02And now I hear the Lord saying,
1:05:06"Man, woman of valor, today I bless you.
1:05:12For there is nothing that is too far
1:05:16[snorts] that the blood and the power of
1:05:19the atonement of Jesus Christ cannot
1:05:23cover over.
1:05:27Father, we thank you now.
1:05:29Wash us. Make us new.
1:05:33We love you in Jesus name. Hey, we're
1:05:37going to have some communion up here if
1:05:39we can get that quickly. if an usher can
1:05:41go grab that for us. We're going to have
1:05:43that set up at the front. I want to
1:05:45encourage you today,
1:05:47the day of atonement. If you don't have
1:05:50a plan already, either in your car,
1:05:52either in the sanctuary
1:05:54tonight,
1:05:56that you take communion,
1:05:58you remember
1:06:01there is no generational anything that
1:06:06can stand against the power of the blood
1:06:09of Jesus Christ. Father, bless our
1:06:11families. Father, bless this church.
1:06:15Bless your people on this great and
1:06:16mighty day. And father,
1:06:20from the depths of us, we ask that you
1:06:23bless the Detroit Lions in Jesus name.
1:06:27Amen.
