0:07we have him leash trained i think that
0:10because we trained him on the leash and
0:11we did it pretty quickly that we should
0:13be able to train him to use a toilet i
0:15think that it's going to be really good
0:17because our entire bathroom is full of
0:19litter

0:24it's like an actual litter box that goes
0:26on the toilet it uses a proven
0:29disappearing litter box technique that
0:31has successfully toilet trained cats for
0:33decades
0:35you can be part of that club bud it
0:37starts as a litter box that you put
0:40underneath the seat of your toilet and
0:42then it gradually has less litter until
0:45it's just the toilet

1:13there and he was kind of playing with it
1:15but then i don't really know how to
1:16reward him i try to give him a treat
1:19while he's on there but then he's like
1:21eating where he shits or he's supposed
1:23to and then the treat falls in the
1:25litter box i don't want him to eat the
1:26litter but then if he jumps off i'm not
1:28sure if i'm like rewarding him to jump
1:30off
1:31i don't know but i feel like we might be
1:33making like even the slightest bit of
1:35progress so here's
1:37his toilet
1:40and you swoop on down
1:44and here's a nice piece of litter that
1:46he kicked that's on our door let's just
1:48look at the distance

2:02and it's just a picture of the toilet
2:05with litter everywhere and like some of
2:07the cat had
2:08knocked his poop out to the ground the
2:10cat was like
2:13embarrassed
2:14then he ran into the bathroom so i
2:16followed him in there
2:17and he was like
2:21i look over and just like cat litter's
2:23everywhere do you think this is going to
2:25be worth it in the end
2:28no i absolutely i spent more time
2:29cleaning his litter up than i've ever
2:31seen cleaning litter
2:33all the other time combined but you
2:35wouldn't have to clean the letter after
2:37like once he starts using it
2:39what if he never learns oh my god

2:49and i don't know why i'm laughing
2:50because it's not funny it's actually
2:52really upsetting and it's like a like
2:55angry poop you know like he does not
2:58feel good

3:13i'm stoked because today we are talking
3:15to a co-worker's dad who is both a
3:18veterinarian and a cat trainer i'm
3:20hoping that he can help me determine if
3:23this is right for chester i'm sydney the
3:25one with the cat what have been your
3:27problems the problem that we're having
3:29is litter's always all over our bathroom
3:31i just feel so bad for my cat moving the
3:34litter box changing the litter all those
3:37things
3:38potentially frustrate a cat much less
3:41putting it in the toilet i think you
3:42just have to go really slow
3:45with the hole make it really you know
3:47make it really really tiny do you think
3:49that i'll be successful in this

4:22yesterday alex surprised me by getting a
4:25self-cleaning litter box because that
4:27was originally why i wanted to train the
4:29cat was so that we didn't have to clean
4:30the litter while i am pretty bummed that
4:33we don't have a cat that's using the
4:35toilet and i feel bad that i have taken
4:37him and alex through this journey with
4:39me i'm happy with a robot litter box
4:42that's okay with me i guess he just
4:44wasn't meant to be toilet trained he's
4:46not gonna learn chester how do you like
4:48your new litter box
