0:00So, when you find Matthew chapter number

0:0228, do me a favor. Go ahead and scroll,

0:05flip, paper Bible, y'all flipping, and

0:08uh to verse number 19. And it says this.

0:11If you don't have your Bible, Bible app,

0:12don't even trip. It's right here on the

0:13screen. It says, "Go therefore and make

0:17disciples of all nations,

0:20baptizing them in the name of the Father

0:23and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit."

0:28Read that one more time. Go therefore

0:31and make disciples of all nations,

0:34baptizing them in the name of the Father

0:39and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.

0:42One more time for the people in the

0:43back. Go

0:46and make

0:48disciples. Go

0:51and make disciples. I'm going to put a

0:53tag on this text to teach for a few

0:55minutes from this topic. Uh, on the way

0:57down to your seat, just shout this out.

0:59I got boots on the ground. That's all.

1:03Boots. Boots.

1:06Got my boots.

1:08I got my boots on the ground.

1:13I got my boots.

1:16Unless unless you've been living under a

1:19rock, then immediately upon hearing the

1:21mere words as boots on the ground, you

1:24probably thought about this new popular

1:26song that has swept the nation.

1:30Some of us lie and dance.

1:34Others of us are lying trying to dance.

1:39Either way it go, uh, one day I'm

1:42scrolling on social media. I'm scrolling

1:45on social media and uh I saw something

1:47that messed me up. I I saw this dance

1:51and it messed me up. I I loved it. As a

1:53matter of fact, peep this. Turn your

1:54attention to this.

1:58Where them f?

2:00Where them fans at?

2:04Where them fans at?

2:06Where them fans at?

2:08Where them f at? Hit me one time.

2:13Oh. Oh,

2:15I got my boots on the ground.

2:19Yeah,

2:22oh,

2:24I got my boots on the ground.

2:26Y'all make some noise for the baby.

2:29[Applause]

2:31I love that video. I'm going to make

2:34that my screen saver some kind of way.

2:38Some of us are lying dancing. Some of us

2:40are lying trying to dance. And um I I

2:43just want to give you a quick little

2:44story about my boots on the ground

2:46introduction. We were at the sneaker

2:50ball, fresh church sneaker ball.

2:54And the DJ put on the boots on the

2:58ground song. Now when he put the song

3:01on, everybody got immediately excited

3:04because uh they understood what that

3:07meant. You know that there are certain

3:08cultural things that just is what it is.

3:11When a certain song comes on, you

3:13already know what to do. I didn't know

3:15what to do, y'all.

3:17The song came on, everybody rushed the

3:20the the the dance stage or whatever. Uh

3:23the dance floor. There you go. And they

3:25begin to do the little step, right? The

3:29only problem is I wanted to do it, too.

3:33I just didn't know the steps. So, I

3:35jumped in because y'all not going to

3:37leave me out of a good time. I feel like

3:39if we're all having a good time, I

3:41should be a part of having a good time.

3:44So, I jumped in to try and do the dance.

3:48As a matter of fact, who can do the

3:50dance? Who got it? Come here. Come here.

3:53Come here, Sunny. You got it. You got a

3:55fan. Come on, Sunny.

3:56I need I need one more. I need somebody

3:58else. Who else? Who else? Who else?

4:00Essence. Oh, I know. Essence. Come on,

4:02Essence. Come on. Come on. Right here.

4:04Right here on the stage. Come on.

4:08Yes, you good. Come on. Right there. All

4:10right. All right. So, here's what we're

4:12going to do. We're going to move this

4:14back a little bit. All right. And um

4:17Y'all need more space than that?

4:19Okay. All right. So, I'm I'm I'm going

4:22to jump in here because I want to learn

4:24how to do this, too.

4:26Huh?

4:27I don't.

4:29So, we got some people that's going to

4:30help us on the screen, too. Do that

4:31second one. And uh we're gonna all just

4:33do it together. for the people that have

4:35never seen it. Um, the people that's

4:37trying to learn it, I I don't know yet.

4:39Let's go.

4:46[Music]

5:05Hey.

5:11All right, y'all. Get off stage, y'all.

5:13[Music]

5:20I don't like y'all.

5:22I've been trying to learn that dance for

5:25this sermon

5:26for four days.

5:29I don't have it yet,

5:32y'all. What the part about that that

5:34messed me up is, fellas, come here for

5:36I'm going to get to the message. I

5:37promise. Fellas, come with me for one

5:39second. There's a part of that that does

5:40not belong to us.

5:46Like I know we want to be involved,

5:49but there's like a little hip thing that

5:51happens.

5:53You know what I'm saying? And and it's

5:55like like that thing that right there

5:59just stop. You just count one, two,

6:03three, then get back to the cuz that

6:06little hip. I'm telling you, I don't

6:08know about the hip. sister.

6:11But y'all family, I love that.

6:14We going we going to pass that. That

6:16wasn't made with us in mind. So, I

6:19couldn't do the dance, y'all. I started

6:21thinking about this idea of boots on the

6:22ground. But the reality is Boots on the

6:24Ground is not only a good song. It's uh

6:27it's actually Jesus's last instructions.

6:30It's crazy. It's crazy. In no uncertain

6:32terms, prior to Jesus leaving the earth

6:34and ascending to heaven, he shared with

6:36us and he shared with his disciples the

6:38importance of having boots on the

6:42ground. That's extremely important,

6:44y'all. Boots on the ground is a

6:46militaristic term in its origin. It

6:48speaks to, watch this, ground forces or

6:51combat troops that are actually on the

6:54front lines of a war engaged in battle.

6:58Yeah. Yeah. boots on the ground is these

7:00are soldiers who are active. Y'all say

7:02active.

7:03Active and physically present during

7:07combat. What does that mean for for us,

7:09pastor? Uh we aren't in the Army. I'm

7:12not in the Navy Seals. I'm not a part of

7:14the military or or the Marines. Thank

7:16you for your service, by the way. Uh no,

7:19no, we aren't being drafted. But God did

7:22give us a decision to make. And if our

7:25families, if our generations, if our

7:27churches, if our cities, if our cities,

7:30we're in a series entitled Summer in the

7:32City, if our cities are going to change,

7:34we're going to need boots on the ground.

7:37So then, stay with me for a few moments

7:39and we're going somewhere. Boots on the

7:41ground refers to believers who are

7:44actively and physically present in a

7:47place doing the work to accomplish God's

7:50mission.

7:52Okay, I need you to hang on to this

7:54definition because everything that I'm

7:56getting ready to say hangs on the hinges

7:57of this. Boots on the ground refers to

8:00believers. Say believers.

8:01Believers

8:02who are active, say active.

8:03Active

8:04and physically present in a place doing

8:05the work to accomplish God's vision. And

8:08some evil entity has incorrectly

8:11inculcated us with an insufficient,

8:14incomplete and incorrect version of

8:16Christianity that suggests that intimacy

8:19with God is more like entertainment than

8:21it is exercising.

8:25Let me say that again. Some evil evil

8:28entity has incorrectly inculcated us

8:31with an insufficient

8:33incomplete and incorrect version of

8:36Christianity that suggests that intimacy

8:39with God is more like entertainment than

8:41it is exercising. But our relationship

8:43with God is more like an exercise than

8:45it is entertainment.

8:48Are y'all here?

8:50It's tough, but we'll get there. Our

8:53relationship I Let me Let me say it like

8:55this. Christianity is more, watch this,

8:58it's more like an exercise than it is

9:00entertainment. Why? Because, why is this

9:02important? I'm getting ready to lose the

9:03whole church right here. I'm glad y'all

9:05danced off of where them fancy cuz y'all

9:09going to run out of church. Here we go.

9:11We live in an arena church culture.

9:19Okay. All right. Okay. Hold the doors.

9:23Close the doors. Close the doors.

9:27Close the doors. Arena church culture.

9:31And arena church culture is this. Watch

9:33this. Is right here on the screen. Is a

9:35polished stage performance with passive

9:38roles.

9:40It's when the church becomes a weekly

9:42show

9:44where spectators applaud, critics, and

9:47and even consume while we are exhausted.

9:50I'm sorry. While a few exhausted

9:52performers carry the weight,

9:55real transformation is rare rare because

9:58that's not why they are there. An arena

10:02church is a polished stage performance

10:06with passive roles.

10:10A polished production with passive

10:12people.

10:14Well,

10:14when you show up to an arena, you're

10:17going to be entertained.

10:20When you go see Beyonce,

10:24plies.

10:28U S H E R A Y M O N D. Now baby, tell me

10:33what you about to do with me. Got a

10:35brother feeling like Joe. I'm sorry.

10:38When you go see your favorite

10:40entertainer,

10:42you show up just in time for the show.

10:47You come with a mindset,

10:50sit down,

10:52go entertain me, please

10:57go. I paid you. Do the thing you do.

11:02And we live in a culture that has

11:05adopted the arena culture from the world

11:08and brought it into the church. I'm

11:10sorry.

11:12So now we come to church. I'm supposed

11:14to teach today. We come to church to be

11:17entertained.

11:19Do something. Praise team. You sing.

11:22Preacher, preach harder. Uhuh. That

11:24ain't good enough. Musicians play

11:26better. Y'all need to do better. They

11:28didn't sing my song. I don't like when

11:30they sing songs like that. I'm sorry.

11:32The songs aren't for you anyway.

11:35Tell somebody and say, "Worship isn't

11:37for you." I mean,

11:40you know, we live in an arena culture

11:42when we show up in time for the word and

11:45skip out on worship because I only want

11:47to be here for the thing that benefits

11:49me and nothing that benefits God is

11:51quiet in here.

11:54[Applause]

11:55I'm going go to this church. They got

11:57good kids, mention. Oh, let me go over

11:58here. They got donuts. Oh, they got

12:00crispy cream. Oh, let's go.

12:03So now I pick a church because of how it

12:06appeases what I desire to do.

12:08Does it benefit me to be a member of

12:10that church? Because I need my network

12:11to go up. So if my net worth goes up, if

12:14I go, it's quiet,

12:17y'all. All right.

12:19All right.

12:21So So we're not choosing church based on

12:26edification.

12:28We're choosing it based on

12:30entertainment.

12:32They got a better choir. That's what God

12:34is calling me.

12:38They got a more famous preacher. That's

12:40what God is calling me.

12:41They got a big time worship artist

12:43leading. That's what God is calling me.

12:46It's quiet.

12:47All right. All right. All right. Okay.

12:52Where

12:56I only show up to be entertained.

12:59Sing. Go dance. Go. Come on y'all. Y'all

13:04need to dance more. It need to be more

13:06exciting. I didn't tithe not to be

13:09entertained.

13:14Arena church culture is full of

13:16consumers.

13:18While active church culture is filled is

13:20filled with contributors.

13:22Let me say that again. I'm sorry. The

13:25arena church culture is full of

13:27consumers where in active church culture

13:30is filled with contributors. Active,

13:33y'all say active.

13:34Active churches or active culture sound

13:38differently. They ask these types of

13:40questions. How can I help?

13:44Not how can I be served?

13:52Okay. Active

13:55churches pursue not just being an

13:59intercessor, but seeking to be an

14:02answer.

14:05An intercessor prays about a problem.

14:10But when I become an answer, I don't

14:12often I don't always have to just pray

14:14about something I can go fix.

14:18If I'm hungry, I'm glad you prayed, but

14:22I'm still hungry.

14:29If if I need y'all fix the mics, if I

14:34need uh shelter, I'm glad you prayed.

14:39Please pray.

14:42But when I become an answer, I say, "I'm

14:45not only going to pray, but I have a

14:48place I can put you in for this amount

14:50of time.

14:51I have resources I can connect you

14:53with."

14:54That's right.

14:55So, when you're in y'all here, when we

14:58are when we have an active culture, then

15:00that means I'm not simply seeking to

15:03hear about what God desires for me to do

15:05in someone's life, but I'm heeding the

15:08word that God has given me about that.

15:09Are y'all with me? So, in this season,

15:12I'm Oh, God. In this season, I'm praying

15:15God I'm praying to God this simple

15:17request. And if you believe it, make

15:19some noise and give God praise. I'm

15:21praying God that you would make me an

15:23answer.

15:25That you would make me an answer that

15:28when someone's hungry, I have the

15:30resources to give.

15:35Somebody say, "Make me an answer."

15:37Make me an answer.

15:40So, I want to we want to be an active

15:42I'm I'm I'm hovering over the text. I I

15:45really am. I'm hovering over the text. A

15:47active church is beyond Sunday.

15:51It's in the courtroom. It's in the

15:52classroom. It's in the boardroom. It's

15:54at Walmart. It's at Publix.

15:57I would say Target, but we kind of like

15:59boycott.

16:02We boycott Target.

16:04You get the point.

16:07Some people better be glad that you go

16:08to an active church.

16:12Cuz if it wasn't for me going to an

16:14active church, I would have probably

16:15hurt somebody by now.

16:18So I I I I need I need a church that's

16:20active. I need a church that tells me

16:22the truth straight with no chaser. I I

16:24don't need acic plast plastic preaching.

16:28I I I don't need uh sanitized deodorized

16:32theology. I need theology that can

16:34handle my life's hiccups and my

16:37hang-ups. When I'm going through trials

16:40and trauma and tribulation and trouble

16:44and tests, I need to be able to lean on

16:47a God that says, "I can do all things

16:51through Christ." Is there anybody in

16:53here that can say, "God, I thank you

16:55that I have an active

16:57[Applause]

16:59an active."

17:01That's why somebody say, "I love my

17:03church."

17:05I don't know about you, I love my

17:07church. So then So then y'all tired of

17:10me already. I got 18 minutes. So y'all

17:13stuck.

17:16So So So peep this. Peep this. God did

17:19not call you. do God did not uh craft

17:23you God did not wire you

17:26uh to just be a part of an arena

17:29culture.

17:31He crafted you. He wired you to be a

17:34part of an active culture. And here's my

17:37here's my recommendation, my suggestion.

17:40Give me a little bit of moments of

17:42pastoral privilege and just to kind of

17:44pull you and pull you to a place right

17:45now. God says that for some of us, it's

17:48time for you to activate

17:50Yeah. Yeah. Uh oh. Y'all ain't like

17:52that. It's okay. I'm staying there. Then

17:54God says it's time for you to activate

17:56with all that anointing you have, with

17:58all that calling you have, with all the

18:01giftings you have. You got more degrees

18:03than a thermometer. And you're sitting

18:05on your skill set. And the kingdom of

18:08God does not benefit from what he's

18:10already blessed you with. But I got a

18:12word for you in 2025. This is your

18:15season to get active. Somebody say

18:18activate.

18:21says, "Put boots on the ground."

18:24Christianity isn't a concert where we

18:26show up to watch. It's a gym where we

18:27show up to work.

18:32We we we we we when we when we accept

18:37him as Lord and Savior, uh our

18:39acceptance of him is not simply to just

18:42be be a be a part of this inclusive uh

18:45Christianity country club.

18:49But it is actually the idea of when you

18:51go to a gym, you're a member of the gym,

18:55right? And the only way you get benefits

18:58out of the gym is when you do something

19:00while you're in the gym.

19:02It's only in America that we're able to

19:05be uh oh, are y'all here that we're able

19:09to profess something without putting it

19:11to practice?

19:13Eastern context of the following the

19:16way, you couldn't even profess something

19:18unless you were practicing it.

19:20They didn't believe you. But when we

19:23don't believe you, you say, "Don't judge

19:25me.

19:28I'm not judging you." The the B the I'm

19:30sorry.

19:32I don't want to.

19:34This is your sign from your savior. It's

19:37time to get active.

19:40It's time to get active. He said, "I

19:42anointed you for a purpose." How long

19:44you going to let church hurt keep you st

19:46at a standstill?

19:48Wow.

19:49You got hurt in 2020,

19:522018,

19:54and now you left the church. Now you

19:56don't trust churches. Your husband been

19:59cheating on you for seven years.

20:01You still with him.

20:03You're still with her.

20:05So, you do know how to forgive.

20:09[Applause]

20:12Yes, Lord.

20:13You took him back.

20:16You took her back. Tell me she fine.

20:18God is like, "I saved your soul.

20:21I healed you from cancer.

20:23I kept your mind. I provided for you. I

20:26protected you.

20:37Somebody shout activate. activate

20:40when Oh, I'm getting ready to run. Oh my

20:43I'm I'm I'm getting ready to run. When

20:46you activate,

20:47God will demonstrate.

20:49[Music]

20:53Sometime we're waiting on God to make

20:55the first move. And he already did.

21:00Before the foundations of the world,

21:04the lamb was slain. Come on.

21:07He's already made the first move by what

21:09happened on the cross.

21:12Everything that we do should be in

21:14response of a love relationship.

21:18So I don't serve out of law. I serve out

21:21of love.

21:23Because when you love somebody, they

21:25don't have to beg you for what you know

21:26they should have anyway.

21:28[Applause]

21:30Yes, Lord.

21:31Because I love my wife, there are things

21:33she don't have to ask me for. Amen.

21:35I just do it

21:37because I love her.

21:39My love won't let me see her with a need

21:42and not meet it.

21:43Come on now.

21:45And God is saying, "You already know I

21:47love you."

21:49The question is, "How do I know

21:53you love me?"

21:55Oh, he got an answer. Cuz he said, "If

21:57you love me, uh

21:58oh,

22:01you will keep.

22:05So, so God has a love language

22:10and it's obedience.

22:13He says if you talk about us love me,

22:17talk about Jesus, you would keep my

22:20commandments.

22:22So then I can't just say I love him and

22:24not keep his commandments

22:26because he defines love by obedience.

22:28It's quiet, but I love you anyway.

22:34How how are we going to take over the

22:35city, y'all? That's what we've been

22:37talking about for six weeks, taking over

22:39our cities. Um, okay. So, in our text,

22:42let me get to the text because I got 15

22:44minutes. In the text, uh, Matthew

22:47chapter number 28, Jesus didn't know

22:48certain turns preparing them to, uh,

22:50before he head to his heavenly trip. He

22:53is on his way. uh and the last piece of

22:56information or the last piece of

22:58instruction even uh it's not something

23:01to be debated on. It's something to be

23:03done.

23:05Jesus's last piece of information and

23:07instruction to his disciples. It's

23:10nothing nothing for us to debate. It's

23:11something that should be done. Matthew

23:1328 is a reminder that the business of

23:15the church ought be the rooted in the

23:17blueprint of Jesus's last instruction.

23:19Right? This is extremely important. that

23:21the business of the church should be

23:23rooted in Jesus in the blueprint of

23:26Jesus's last instructions. This is so

23:29important. What he does is he gathers

23:31them together and then he goes into

23:33Matthew chapter number 28 verse number

23:3418. Here's where he starts. Lord, this

23:36is good to me. I'm trying not to run.

23:38Y'all stay with me for like one minute.

23:39I got to give you this. Got to give you

23:40this. Are y'all enjoying this?

23:44Matthew chapter number 28, verse number

23:4618. Jesus came to them and said, "All

23:48authority

23:49in heaven and on earth has been given to

23:51me." Hold on. Wait a minute. I gotta

23:53tell you what he's talking about. He

23:54says, "All authority in heaven and in

23:57earth has been given unto me." He says,

23:58"All authority in heaven and in earth

24:00has been given unto me." No doubt,

24:02undoubtedly, Jesus has all power.

24:04Without question, he has all power.

24:06Right? Uh but the text doesn't

24:07necessarily say all power, though he

24:10does have all power. It says all

24:11authority. So then that begs the

24:13question, what's the difference between

24:14power and authority? Because there has

24:16to be a difference between a power and

24:18authority because power is the ability

24:20to get things done, right? You you have

24:22the power to pick up that chair or put

24:23it down. You have the power to move. You

24:25have the power to do certain things. But

24:27then authority decides the right

24:30appropriation of whatever power the

24:32authoritative figure wants to use.

24:36So, so the classic example is the

24:38individuals on the football field. the

24:40the the the the actual players have

24:42power to move the ball up the field or

24:45down the field. They can run it, they

24:46can throw it, they whatever it is, they

24:48have the power to do that. But the

24:50commissioners have the authority because

24:53they determine what's right and what's

24:55wrong.

24:56The authoritative figure can usurp the

25:00power of people that have power.

25:05So when when someone has authority,

25:09y'all with me?

25:10I can disqualify anybody's power.

25:16Because my authority usurps whatever

25:18power they have,

25:20I gave it to them.

25:24And some, uh, oh, I'm getting ready to

25:25run. Some of us have been in a season of

25:30stress and strain because the enemy has

25:33been exercising his power in certain

25:36areas of our lives.

25:39But I got good news for you.

25:41Doesn't matter how much power the enemy

25:43thinks he has if God has all authority.

25:48So uhoh. So then that means whenever God

25:51wants to, he can bless me whenever,

25:55wherever, and however he desires.

25:59He can protect me whenever, however, and

26:04wherever he desires.

26:06He can deliver me whenever,

26:09wherever, and however he desires. I'll

26:11wait till you catch it. He can keep my

26:14mind whenever, wherever, and however.

26:18Somebody stand up and sit back down and

26:20shout, "Authority. Authority. Authority.

26:22Authority. Authority. Authority over

26:25demons. Authority over dominions.

26:27Authority over the White House.

26:29Authority over sickness. Authority over

26:32cancer. Authority over diabetes.

26:34Authority o." Somebody shout,

26:37"Authority."

26:40If Jesus is claiming he has all

26:43authority, then that must mean nobody

26:45else has any.

26:47[Music]

26:50Either he's a lord,

26:54a liar,

26:56or a lunatic.

26:58Choose one. If he's saying I have all

27:01authority, then nobody else has any.

27:04Because all in the original language, I

27:06looked it up. Had to go to the Greek

27:08maseratic text. Had to use my little bit

27:10of a degree. Salade. Hallelujah.

27:15I said, "I'm getting my money out of

27:17this." I had to go had to go use my my

27:19my logo software

27:22and I had to do a little word study on

27:23the word all because it got to mean

27:26something in the original language. And

27:27I found out that in the original

27:29language, y'all, this going to mess

27:30y'all up. The word all literally means

27:33all.

27:35Everything.

27:37Everything you've been facing, somebody

27:40shout all. Any sickness, shout all. Any

27:45mind depression, shout all.

27:48He says, "I have all authority."

27:51Mess me up. Oh, put the scripture back

27:54up there. Uh, he says, "All authority."

27:58This what messed me up. Then he says,

28:00"In heaven."

28:03He said, "I got all authority in heaven

28:07and on earth."

28:08Wait a minute. Hold on. Well, hold on.

28:12What's What's the point? Here we go.

28:14What's the point of him telling us where

28:17all his authority lies?

28:20He said, "I got all authority in heaven

28:23and on earth."

28:25Meaning in heaven, I can command angelic

28:28hosts on behalf of the believers

28:32on earth.

28:33If you're dealing with mama's mess and

28:35daddy's demons, I got authority over

28:37that, too.

28:41So it doesn't Are y'all here?

28:44All authority

28:47in heaven and on earth. Lord have mercy.

28:50I got to go. My time is running. Has

28:53been given to me. Tell me about how we

28:56going to boost on the ground. What has

28:57this got to do with boost on the ground?

28:58I'm glad you asked. Um, watch what he

29:01says. He says, "All authority in heaven

29:02and earth has been given to me." The the

29:05great This is the great commission. This

29:07is this is the great commission. Come on

29:09y'all. This is the great commission. The

29:11great commission is an instruction

29:14command or a duty given or a duty given

29:18to a person or group of people. This is

29:22a a a this is a mandate. This is a

29:25mission from the master. He's saying

29:29he's saying here. Are y'all ready for

29:31this?

29:32I'm not Oh my god. That's the time. Lord

29:35Jesus.

29:37Watch what he says. Watch what he says

29:39here. Here's the here's the commission.

29:41Here we go. Verse number 18 is the great

29:43claim. All authority in heaven and earth

29:46has been given unto me. That's the great

29:48claim. But the great claim rests on the

29:51great commission.

29:53If the great claim is not true, the

29:55great commission isn't true. But if the

29:58great claim is true, and it is, then the

30:00great commission is our mandate.

30:02Watch what he says. cuz he's getting

30:04ready to leave. And you know when mama

30:05was getting ready to leave the house and

30:06she turned around and told you one last

30:08thing that probably was probably

30:10probably was the most important thing.

30:11And don't forget, make sure them rooms

30:13is cleaned up

30:16right before she walked out. Oh, and one

30:18last thing, make sure those dishes.

30:22So, so if you didn't do anything else,

30:24you better do the last piece of

30:25instruction.

30:27Here Jesus says with the last piece of

30:28instructions before his heavenly trip

30:32he says verse number 19 great commission

30:35go therefore and make disciples.

30:39I love that the first word of verse

30:41number 19 is is is is go because you

30:44can't get gospel without spelling the

30:46word go.

30:47He says go therefore and make disciples.

30:51Lord have mercy. The the idea of this

30:54word go is as you are going.

30:58It it is it is as you are going as you

31:02are doing what you do during life. Be be

31:05clear of the great commission to to to

31:09make disciples. All right. All right.

31:12This messed me up. This messed me up

31:14because he's given us our assignment and

31:16our assignment demands action.

31:18It demands urgency. boots on the ground

31:21demands urgency. I'm almost out of here,

31:23y'all. Y'all stay with me. Here we go.

31:25I'm skipping. Go. Go. Therefore, make

31:27disciples of all nation. Um, Lord have

31:31mercy. This is going to mess you up. I

31:33don't know how much time I got. Are

31:35y'all right? Can y'all give me three

31:37minutes?

31:38Please lock the door. They

31:41just lock it. They they want to leave.

31:45So, he's saying go. He's not simply

31:48saying just know how to make disciples.

31:53That's important. But he's saying go do

31:55it,

31:57right? Because sometimes we can get

32:00satisfied with just accumulating

32:02information

32:04as opposed to working it out.

32:07So then spiritual obesity is when we

32:10take in a lot of information

32:12and never work out what we took in.

32:21All right, I got to run. Y'all don't

32:23brought Rashad up here. Lord have mercy.

32:26Okay, I'm done when I tell you this. He

32:28says, "Go therefore and make disciples

32:29of all nations, baptizing them in the

32:30name of the Father." Uh, in the name of

32:32the Father and the Son of the Holy

32:34Spirit. Um, then he says, watch this.

32:36Teaching them, this is where I'm going

32:38hang out. Teaching them to observe.

32:42Somebody say observe.

32:43Observe. Now that observe is really obey

32:47right or to do all that I've commanded

32:49you and behold I'm with you always to

32:51the end of the age. He says teaching

32:54them to observe. If I had time I'd

32:57unpack so much more but teaching them to

32:59observe obey all that I have commanded

33:03you. Teaching them to observe and obey.

33:07Not just memorize

33:09but obey it.

33:11Some of us are good Christians because

33:12we have a good memory.

33:17He says, "Don't just read. Don't just be

33:21hearers of the word." Right?

33:23Be doers of the word.

33:24Okay? So, there's a young lady. There's

33:27this lady, right? She has this house.

33:28I'll get back to the message in a

33:29moment. She she and every every every

33:32evening, she stands in front of the the

33:34the the sink to wash the dishes, and she

33:36has a neighbor with a 10-year-old son.

33:39She loves him. He he often times when he

33:41sees her in the dish in the in in the

33:43window washing dishes, he knows that

33:45that's his sign that she's making

33:47cookies for him.

33:50And they have that beautiful

33:51relationship. So, it's nothing for the

33:53son, the the the neighbor's son to kind

33:54of head out the back door and run into

33:57the uh run up the patio and into the

34:00house and ask us, "Miss Williams, can I

34:02have some cookies?" So, no, just like no

34:04uncertain ter like just like any other

34:06time, the the the the young lady is

34:08there. She's washing dishes and she sees

34:10the boy getting ready to run up the

34:12patio. He's getting ready to run up the

34:14patio, but the only problem is her

34:15husband has painted the patio this

34:17morning. So, she sees him getting ready

34:20to run up the patio and she yells out,

34:22"Hey, Timmy, don't run up the patio."

34:25She goes to wash. She look, he's still

34:28going for Hey, second time, don't run up

34:30the patio. Timmy Timmy hollers back. He

34:33says, "Uh, it's okay, Miss Williams.

34:35I'll be careful."

34:38She said, "No, no, no. Don't run up the

34:40patio. It's wet. Don't run up there." He

34:43said, "No, it's okay. I'll be careful."

34:46She said, "No, I don't want you to be o

34:49I don't want you to be careful. I want

34:51you to be obedient."

34:54Be careful when you're trying to be

34:56careful in disobedience.

35:00[Applause]

35:02Wow.

35:04I don't want God is like I want you to

35:06observe what I've commanded you not just

35:09be careful when you're doing whatever

35:11you want to do.

35:13So am I supposed to accept

35:15it?

35:20So I want you to be careful.

35:23And some of us Christians, believers, we

35:26settle for careful.

35:28I'mma do a little bit. We live we live

35:31our whole Christian lives walking a

35:32tight rope.

35:35Wow.

35:36It's our whole life. God want us to do

35:38what we want to do. We right here the

35:40whole Lord Jesus. I'm f to go over here.

35:43I ain't got no business. Oh Lord. Lord,

35:46don't let her be pregnant. That's all.

35:47Father Jesus Christ.

35:50Lord don't let her be pregnant. Oh, some

35:52of y'all done survived the pregnancy

35:53scared so much. Lord,

35:57I don't know. Something ain't right.

35:59You didn't come see me this month.

36:04We live our whole Christian life trying

36:06to see what we can get away with. Can I

36:08do this?

36:09Well, how many drinks is too much? How

36:11much weed is too much weed? Cuz I mean,

36:14God put this here for me and you take

36:15advantage, man.

36:20Is it really stealing? I mean, it ain't

36:22like they going to miss it. I mean,

36:25I don't have to forgive them.

36:30this our whole Christian life

36:32right on

36:35talking about who yeah Lord

36:39that's when it start getting real good

36:41there oh

36:44that's when you got to come to Bible

36:45study on that day talking about I the

36:47prayer pastor where the prayer line

36:55he says why you trying to live like this

36:57I

36:59thought you said you love me.

37:01You think that's better?

37:06You know you playing with you flirting

37:08with a fatality.

37:12Why you flirting with the enemy? He's

37:14playing for keeps.

37:18He Jesus is like, "I'm getting ready to

37:19leave. I'm getting ready to leave and I

37:22got one piece of instruction for you. I

37:24want you to go where as you are going,

37:28wherever it is you go, make disciples.

37:33I'm sending you to have boots on the

37:35ground.

37:37Wherever you go, boots on the ground

37:41wherever you go.

37:44Because watch this.

37:50[Music]

37:52Followers

37:54have boots on the ground.

37:57Fans don't.

38:02And Jesus is trying to make a

38:04distinction.

38:07Where them fans at?

38:13Where where the fans? I I I I'm not

38:16dying for fans.

38:18As a matter of fact, whenever Jesus saw

38:20a big crowd, he said something that made

38:22the whole crowd disperse.

38:24Thousands of people came to follow

38:25Jesus, came to hear Jesus like, "Okay,

38:26unless you drink of my blood and eat of

38:29my flesh." They like, "All right, I'm

38:30out of here. I ain't got

38:35juxtaposed to us. We see big crowds, we

38:37get happy." Jesus see big crowds, he

38:39gets skeptical.

38:41He's like, "Why you here?

38:43Because our savior is not feing for

38:45followers.

38:49I'm sorry. Feing for fans. Thank you.

38:52He's not feing for fans.

38:56What's the point of this whole message?

38:57Because you don't you're not supposed to

38:58preach a a sermon. Don't have a

39:01a point.

39:03Say good stuff, but what's the whole

39:05point?

39:06Well, the sermon in a sentence is simply

39:09this.

39:11The great commission

39:13is the great co-mission.

39:17It is

39:19not only it's a shared mission

39:24that thrives on unity

39:26where every person has received every

39:29person who has received a fresh start

39:32plays a part.

39:35It is a co-mission,

39:39co-laboring.

39:41It is a partnership

39:44with one another and God

39:48to where every person who has received a

39:51fresh start plays a part. So in the

39:54kingdom, there's no such thing as being

39:56a believer and being dormant.

40:00There's no such thing. You are saved to

40:04serve.

40:06Everybody can't serve in the same

40:07capacity and we understand that and

40:09there's different ways in which we can

40:10do that. But but Jesus is making it

40:13clear. Be clear without a shadow of a

40:15doubt.

40:17This is the commission.

40:20Not just come get entertained.

40:23Not just come, oh, I needed my fix. All

40:25right. Bye. See y'all in three months.

40:28Not just, oh, I'll get there later

40:29because I don't really want to hear that

40:30song anyway.

40:33He's like, "No, no, no, no. You're

40:34missing that. No, you're missing that."

40:39Somebody's Yes. is tied to yours.

40:45There's kids that's going that's going

40:46to go upstairs

40:47[Music]

40:48and you probably are the only one with

40:50the patience to teach them.

40:53Maybe the way you break it down makes

40:56them understand.

40:58Maybe you have life experiences that can

41:00connect with them. May maybe when a

41:02person walks in the door, maybe there's

41:03something about you. Maybe there's

41:06something about you that when you give

41:07somebody a hug or you dab them up or you

41:09smile at them, ask them how to for

41:10whatever reason, they just feel better.

41:14Maybe you got skill sets that you thrive

41:17in in your profession, but you sit on in

41:21your church service.

41:25And God is like, "Why you think I wired

41:26you like that?" "So that the world

41:29benefits?" No,

41:35if you would stand to your feet.

41:39Well, one, if you got something out of

41:40this, man, would you put your hands

41:41together if you believe that there's

41:43something

41:44[Music]

41:48boost on the ground.

41:51I want to give you an opportunity, man,

41:53if you're connected to this house at any

41:54point, any measure, nobody move, nobody

41:57get hurt. Everybody stand right where

41:59you are.

42:02If you are connected to this house and

42:04watch this

42:06and you know you're supposed to be

42:08plugged in serving at some level, this

42:10those are the people I'm talking to.

42:12Don't do anything you don't feel like

42:14doing, but do whatever God is put uh

42:16prompting on your heart to do. And

42:18you're like, "Man, I don't know that

42:19I've been partnering with God to

42:22accomplish

42:24his mission

42:26in the earth." We're going to put a

42:28slide on the on the screen with a QR

42:31code.

42:33And maybe you say, "I don't know. I just

42:34I don't know exactly what I want to what

42:36I what I could do or where I want to."

42:38That's fine.

42:40But we're going to put that summer uh

42:41service slide up there and I want you to

42:44hit that QR code. If you know, great.

42:48Say, you know what? I want to be a part

42:49of this or or this is my passion or this

42:53is the area I want to whatever. Cool. If

42:55you don't know, that's fine. Hit it

42:56there. But you know what? I don't know.

43:00I'm just available.

43:04That's one way in which

43:07we all can partner. What would happen if

43:0912 turned the world upside down? What

43:11would happen?

43:16I want to pray for you.

43:19Every eye closed, every head bowed. I

43:21want to pray. Father, in the name of

43:22Jesus,
