0:00A lot of people that decide to read the
0:02Bible for themselves and study for
0:04themselves for the first time and ask
0:06God about things quickly realize that
0:09when it comes to mainstream theology,
0:12we've been duped. The church is in the
0:15falling away, but systematically. A lot
0:18of people have been watching for the
0:19falling away as if it's going to be this
0:21obvious like stand up and walk out of
0:23all institutional churches. But I am of
0:26the belief that the institutional church
0:29in itself has fallen away. I'm going to
0:32show you out of my 1830 Bible and my
0:361863 Bible just how much theology has
0:40changed in the last 200 years or so. And
0:43I would bet that a lot of you guys that
0:44read the Bible were confused at where
0:46mainstream theology even gets the ideas
0:48it has are going to resonate with the
0:50notes in these Bibles because they only
0:52support the plain reading of the
0:53scriptures. and matching scripture with
0:56scripture, which is something we really,
0:57really fail to do today as the church.
1:00Before I show you, I just want to say if
1:02you've seen my content before, you
1:03probably know I'm not a fan of soft
1:05Christianity. I want to know the truth
1:08because I do not want to hear depart
1:10from me. I want to be part of the
1:11remnant. I want you guys to as well. And
1:13I think a lot of you guys feel the same
1:15way. A lot of these notes to people
1:17today that are used to participation
1:19trophies and feelings based everything
1:22are going to come off extremely harsh,
1:24but people that want to know the truth
1:26are going to have clarity. So, let's get
1:28into it. This is my 1863 Bible. I got it
1:31off of eBay for people asking. And it's
1:34just a standard Holy Bible. It's not a
1:36specific denomination or anything like
1:37that. and it's a Cassell publishing
1:39house Bible with the Old Testament, the
1:41New Testament references, critical and
1:44explanatory notes along with a condensed
1:46concordance. Okay, let's start strong.
1:48So in Revelation 2:6, Jesus says, "But
1:50this thou hast that thou hatest the
1:52deeds of the niclatans, which I also
1:54hate." And then again in verse 15, "So
1:56hast thou also them that hold the
1:57doctrine of the niclatians, which thing
1:59I hate." When you go to the definition
2:01of nicolatians, it says, "Certain
2:03heretical Christians referred to in
2:04Revelation 2:6 and 15, who taught that
2:07the knowledge of God and Christ was
2:09sufficient for salvation, and that being
2:11justified by faith, they were free from
2:13the restraints of the law and might
2:16indulge in sin with impunity." Guys,
2:18think about this. This is almost all of
2:20modern-day Christianity, regardless of
2:22denomination. This is faith alone. This
2:25is once saved, always saved. This is we
2:28don't have to repent. Repentance is a
2:29one-time change of mind. This is almost
2:32everybody today. And this was written
2:34what 200 years ago. Just because we try
2:36to make the word say something that it
2:37doesn't doesn't mean that God honors it.
2:40Let's look at the notes for Exodus 19
2:41and 20 where God gave Moses the law. You
2:44will find these types of notes across
2:46all old Bibles. That's why I'm totally
2:49convinced that the great delusion for
2:51the end times is that you can be lawless
2:53and be saved. I don't say that to be
2:56judgmental or to be harsh. Everything
2:58that I find pre like 1940s is very
3:02forthcoming about it and I just want
3:04people to walk uprightly and not be part
3:06of the delusion. Moses having again
3:09ascended the mount and having entered
3:10into still closer fellowship with God
3:13there and then received from the lips of
3:14the eternal the one fixed and immutable
3:16law of moral being. It is a law from
3:19which no individual created intelligence
3:22is exempt. It is the law of heaven as
3:25surely as it is the law of earth, the
3:27law of angels no less than the law of
3:29man. It is the law not only of time but
3:32also of eternity. But short and
3:35comprehensive as is the decalogue in its
3:37precepts and its requirements, it never
3:39received its real and full exposition
3:41till it was taken up by Christ and
3:43reenacted by him in all its sublime
3:45spirituality in his sermon on the mount.
3:47There it appears as something exceeding
3:49broad and as immediately affecting every
3:51side in every phase of our common
3:53humanity. The ten commandments stand at
3:55the head of the collective body of laws
3:56here subjoined. These laws have their
3:58basis in the decalogue and the decalogue
4:01itself has its basis in the moral
4:02convictions of all moral beings and
4:04these are in unison with the eternal
4:06will of God. the Ten Commandments were
4:08written on stone because they contain
4:10the fundamental principles of all other
4:12enactments and that they might in this
4:14fixed and permanent form more easily be
4:16referred to and preserved. Let's jump to
4:18Deuteronomy 5, the other place where the
4:20law is given. Here's another thing that
4:22people today completely invert and it's
4:24going to send millions of people to
4:26hell. A lot of people hear Jesus is the
4:28end of the law and they think that that
4:30means like you don't keep the law
4:31anymore. But it means the target like
4:34the goal to ensure obedience and
4:36therefore order and harmony is the end
4:38of the law. Hence the holy and earnest
4:41exhortations which Moses now addresses
4:43to the people. Here's a very interesting
4:46section for social media theology. Let's
4:48look through some of the notes in Psalm
4:50119. the proud, the accursed. Whoever
4:53does not obey the law of God is under a
4:55curse. And look at what it cross
4:58references. Galatians 3:10. People take
5:01this today to mean that if you keep the
5:03law, you're under a curse. Okay, so in
5:04reference to verse 85, where it says,
5:06"The proud have digged pits for me which
5:08are not after thy law." It says, "This
5:10verse would read better thus, the proud
5:12who followed not thy law have digged
5:15pits for me. It was by cutting pits into
5:17which on being pursued they might fall
5:19that wild beasts were taken. They
5:21plotted the ruin of the psalmist, but
5:23his hope was in God and in his word or
5:25promise he reposed. In the notes for
5:27Revelation 2, it's talking about a visit
5:29that the authors took to Thotyra, like
5:31the church that Jesus was addressing.
5:33They wrote, "Christianity exists there
5:35in name, but it is the bare name. Its
5:37spirit has long since fled. The Greeks
5:39especially seem to be peculiarly
5:41superstitious. I visited their church
5:43and found it full of pictures and other
5:45marks of degenerate Christianity. The
5:48notes in 1 John 3 sinnth not. A life of
5:51sin is absolutely excluded by the higher
5:54law of redeeming love. If there be
5:56spiritual life, there must be love to
5:58God, and love to God forbids the
6:00practice of sin. The doctrine is not
6:02that of sinless perfection, but of a
6:03life of holiness as opposed to a life of
6:06sin, even as he is righteous. The
6:08essential righteousness of God is the
6:09foundation of all moral rectitude in his
6:11creatures and to him we are to be
6:13conformed if we would attain the
6:15perfection of holy life. He cannot sin.
6:17As the apostle takes the divine birth
6:19and relation to God in its fullest
6:20sense, it follows that if a man is
6:22really born of God, the divine principle
6:24must remain in him and he cannot
6:26habitually and willfully commit sin. If
6:28we are light in the Lord, we must have
6:30no fellowship with the unfruitful works
6:32of darkness. The notes from 1 John 2, we
6:34lie and we do not tell the truth. For
6:36beyond all contradiction, the communion
6:38of Christians is a communion of saints,
6:40children of God and children of the
6:41light, and its bond is brotherly love.
6:44Accordingly, to walk in the darkness, to
6:46conform to the sinful customs of the
6:47world, and yet pretend to be of this
6:50communion is to deny the truth and to
6:52deceive ourselves. This one is important
6:54because people invert what this verse
6:56means completely.
6:57>> [snorts]
6:57>> If we say we have no sin, these
6:59concluding verses seem to be directed
7:01against those professed believers who
7:03have not in themselves that
7:04consciousness of man's constant need of
7:06a holy and a watchful life which ought
7:09to prevail within them during every
7:10moment of their earthly existence as
7:12being essential to their Christian
7:14prosperity. Is the love of God
7:15perfected? The love of God reached its
7:17utmost limit in giving up his son. And
7:19the love of the son reached its limit
7:20when he poured out his soul even unto
7:22death. and nothing will perfect our love
7:24either on earth or in heaven but
7:26unlimited obedience to the will of God
7:28our savior. No new commandment and old
7:31commandment. The new commandment had its
7:32root in the old. For the law of
7:34brotherly love is as old as the
7:35creation. But the old has been so
7:37heightened and intensified by the
7:39example of Christ as to have all the
7:41freshness and all the force of a new
7:43commandment. Just as any doctrine which
7:44is as old as religion itself, if
7:46presented to our view under some new and
7:48attractive form, seems to stand out with
7:50all the originality and distinctness of
7:51a new truth. Second Peter 3, walking
7:54after their own lust, lust is the germ
7:56of lentiousness, and lentiousness is too
7:58often united with contempt of the holy
8:00gospel. The men who live most in sin,
8:03are the men who will be found to scoff
8:05most at religion and its holy
8:07requirements. The notes for James 1,
8:09that perfect law of liberty, that is the
8:12gospel which binds us to obedience and
8:14renders the law a rule of life, but
8:17frees us from the sins wherewith we were
8:19tithed and bound and enables us to
8:21declare that the gospel is the law
8:23fulfilled, that the gospel is the secret
8:25of liberty, and that Christ's service is
8:27perfect freedom. Here's the notes from
8:30when Jesus cast the demons into the herd
8:32of pigs. If thou cast us out, suffer us
8:34to go away into the herd of swine. Here
8:36the personality of these evil spirits is
8:38placed beyond all controversy. But how
8:40can we reconcile it with the benevolent
8:42character of Christ that he should allow
8:44these spirits to enter the herd of swine
8:45and thus affect their destruction? Two
8:47things are here worthy of remark. First,
8:50these spirits acknowledge their
8:51subjection to Christ, nor can they act
8:53without his immediate permission. This
8:54is an important fact lying on the very
8:56face of the narrative. And secondly,
8:58swine being ceremonially unclean and
9:00forbidden by the Mosaic law. The Savior
9:03employed these spirits as instruments to
9:05punish the transgressors of the law by
9:07the loss of their property, and to prove
9:09to them and to the nation at large that
9:11the times of reformation had come, that
9:13obedience was the condition of divine
9:15favor, that self-denial lies at the root
9:18of all religion, and that everything is
9:19to be sacrificed rather than the soul
9:21and her eternal interests. Does not this
9:23besp speak benevolence of the highest
9:25order? Love infinite in its depth,
9:27compass, and end. So, if you're lost on
9:29this one, because I know the older
9:30language can trip people up, but I have
9:32like a hobby of reading these. It's
9:34basically saying that he cast the devils
9:35into the swine as a punishment so that
9:38people that transgress the Mosaic law
9:40face divine consequences. This one's for
9:43my siblings that argue about the trinity
9:45all day long. No man knoweth the sun.
9:47The essential nature of Christ as the
9:48only begotten son of God is just as
9:50profound a mystery as the essence or
9:52being of the father. While the relation
9:54between the two is a depth which we can
9:56never fathom, nor is it possible but by
9:58inward spiritual illumination that we
10:00can perceive or apprehend the relation
10:02of both father and son to the soul
10:04recovered from sin and death. The
10:05blasphemy against the Holy Ghost shall
10:07not be forgiven unto men. By ascribing
10:09the works of Christ to satanic agency in
10:12opposition to the clearest proof and the
10:13highest demonstration, they put
10:15themselves in direct antagonism to the
10:17one only power by which Christ professed
10:19to perform his miracles and the only
10:21power which was henceforced to act
10:22through his own mysterious mediation on
10:24their hearts to subdue, renovate, and
10:26sanctify them. And therefore, if men
10:28continued in this state of willful and
10:30determined opposition to this saving
10:32power, they placed themselves beyond the
10:34reach of forgiveness and salvation. The
10:36crime is not peculiar to the age of our
10:38Lord and not confined to those who were
10:39eyewitnesses of his miracles. But in our
10:42own day is to be found in the willful
10:43and persevering rejection of the only
10:45means of salvation. While life
10:47continues, there is hope. But it is
10:49quite possible for men through unbelief
10:50and contempt of the gospel to force
10:52their way into the world of everlasting
10:54woe. From such fatal conduct, may the
10:56good Lord deliver us. Jumping to the
10:58notes in Matthew 4, and I'm not going
11:00over the actual verses just for brevity
11:02sake, kind of depending on you guys
11:03knowing scripture. If you don't, just
11:05please look it up so that you know what
11:06we're talking about in these verses.
11:08John the Baptist says, "Bear fruit in
11:10keeping with repentance." By coming to
11:12him and submitting to his baptism, they
11:13profess to be the subjects of
11:15repentance. And therefore, he requires
11:17of them such a course of life and action
11:20as would bespeak the reality of their
11:22profession. So you cannot be baptized
11:24and not walk the walk. Moving on to
11:26Matthew 7. Enter ye in at the straight
11:28gate. While the great majority of men
11:30deceive themselves as to the
11:32difficulties connected with an entrance
11:33into the kingdom of God, how few are
11:35even willing to undergo the necessary
11:37labor or go through the self-denying
11:39struggles which are called for in order
11:40to gain the blessed end. Hence, it is
11:42that they lose everlasting life. Have we
11:45not prophesied in thy name? Supernatural
11:48gifts were no evidence of a renewed and
11:49sanctified state of soul. While miracles
11:51were effects produced by the power of
11:53the spirit acting through the human
11:54agent, the presence and activity of that
11:56power in any given individual were no
11:58evidence of inward spiritual life, the
12:00contradiction between the personal
12:02character and the miraculous gifts was
12:03quite enough to determine who were the
12:05true and who were the false among those
12:06professed teachers and guides of the
12:08people. Moving on to Matthew 8, Jesus
12:10heals a leper. And he tells the man
12:12after he heals him to go into the temple
12:14and as a proof that Jesus healed him,
12:16show that he can basically keep the
12:18Mosaic law. So offer the gift that Moses
12:20commanded. This command with all which
12:22it includes will be found in Leviticus.
12:24That which strikes us in this injunction
12:26of our Lord is the fact that up to the
12:28day of his death, he never interfered
12:30with the Mosaic institutions, never
12:32attempted to disturb them or set them
12:33aside. On the contrary, he ever enjoyed
12:35a faithful fulfillment of all the
12:37obligations involved in the ancient law
12:39till their very observance should begget
12:41in them the conscious need of the true
12:42righteousness which was to be found only
12:44in him and through his [clears throat]
12:45mediation. for a testimony unto them. If
12:47the man had been cleansed, entirely
12:49healed of his leprosy without the
12:51intervention or service of the
12:52priesthood, then to admit the fact of
12:53the cure was to admit the corresponding
12:55fact of Christ's supernatural power.
12:57What a condemnation this of their own
12:59unbelief and of their rejection of him
13:00as the Messiah and sent of God. This
13:02concept is like twisted into imputed
13:04righteousness today. Like to try and say
13:07that you don't have to walk at all. You
13:09don't have to keep the commandments at
13:11all. Christ does it in us, but we also
13:14have to participate. This part's talking
13:16about the tradition of the elders. The
13:18Jews came to attach more importance to
13:19the traditionary gloss of scripture than
13:21to scripture itself. This is what the
13:24church does today. The written word they
13:26compared to water, but their traditions
13:27to wine. They wash not their hands. The
13:29duty of washing before eating was one of
13:31their traditions, but formed no part of
13:33the revealed and published law. Again,
13:35[snorts] the church does this today. Yet
13:37the Jew attached vast importance to this
13:39traditionary act, so much so that it is
13:41reported of a certain rabbi while in
13:43prison and with scarcely sufficient
13:45water to sustain life that he preferred
13:47dying of thirst to eating with unwashed
13:49hands. Why do you also transgress the
13:52commandment of God? Transgress or go
13:53beyond the commandment as to disregard
13:55the authority of God and render the
13:57divine precept of no effect. When the
13:59Pharisees said it is a gift, they were
14:00doing like the Corbin switcheroo that is
14:03something consecrated to God and his
14:05service under this pretext they claimed
14:07exemption from helping their parents by
14:09whatsoever thou mightest be profited by
14:11me. It is a gift. In other words,
14:13whatever property I have and out of
14:14which I might help thee is consecrated
14:16and given up to God. Thus the man held
14:19himself free from all obligation to his
14:21father and mother. This is in the ten
14:22commandments. And the Sanhedrin acting
14:24on their traditions also held him free.
14:26What sophistry? Sophistry is like
14:29hermeneutics, like you're finding
14:30loopholes. What injustice as if the
14:32claims of God and his service could ever
14:34set aside or interfere with the
14:35discharge of file duty. Knowest thou
14:38that the Pharisees were offended? They
14:39might have interpreted the Savior's
14:40words in the preceding verse and which
14:42were addressed to the multitude as an
14:44attack upon the Mosaical law in respect
14:46to food. But knowing the tendency of
14:48their whole system to smother true
14:49religion under a mass of outward forms,
14:52again the modern church, the Savior,
14:54instead of softening down what was so
14:55offensive to them, presented the
14:57doctrine yet more broadly, yet more
14:59distinctly. He never modified his
15:01teaching or consulted the prejudices and
15:02predelections of his hearers when truth
15:04and everlasting interests were involved.
15:06In general, the notes in these Bibles
15:08are so beautiful. It makes me so sad
15:10that almost no modern Bibles have notes,
15:12and the notes that they do have just
15:14don't make sense. like they're not
15:16following the early church notes. Jesus
15:18had compassion on them. The sympathy and
15:20compassion of the Savior were called
15:22forth by every form of human suffering.
15:24So deeply and so truly did he identify
15:26himself with the miseries of our common
15:27humanity that he is called the man of
15:29sorrows and the acquainted with grief.
15:32The publicans and harlots go into the
15:34kingdom of God before you. If you read a
15:36newer version, this is tax collectors.
15:38be openly profane by the convictions of
15:40their own conscience and the admonitions
15:42of God's spirit are often brought to
15:43repentance and to life eternal while the
15:46scribes and the Pharisees with all their
15:47professions of legal obedience are
15:49denied the provisions of heaven's mercy.
15:51These latter faint to do the will of God
15:53and do it not while the former who once
15:55lived in opposition to that will are
15:56brought into spiritual subjection to God
15:58and yield to him a willing and hearty
16:00obedience. Moses seat is to be taken as
16:03the emblem of the divine authority of
16:05which Moses was the representative as
16:06the judge and lawgiver of the people.
16:08When Jesus says, "Do what they say, not
16:10what they do," it was not the
16:11personality of the Pharisees and scribes
16:13against which our Lord here warns his
16:14disciples, but their character so far as
16:17they taught in harmony with revealed
16:18truth, they were to be obeyed, but their
16:21conduct being in direct opposition to
16:23their teaching was to be shunned and
16:24condemned. When they were binding heavy
16:26burdens on the people, they were
16:28encumbering all the relations of life
16:29with a multitude of minute regulations
16:31which neither reason nor piety could
16:33commend, and the very enforcing of which
16:35restrained all freer and more
16:37spontaneous action. This one's a big
16:39one. Call no man your father upon the
16:40earth. In other words, give no man any
16:43designation which would imply dominion
16:45over your faith or your conscience.
16:47These are far above the sphere of human
16:49influence. This is why I'm huge on not
16:52just following teachers because Jesus
16:55warned repeatedly don't call yourself a
16:57teacher and John did the same. Neither
16:59be called masters. The word here
17:00rendered masters would be better
17:01expressed by guides and again points to
17:03a title of spiritual preeminence. So
17:06when Jesus told the Pharisees that they
17:07shut up the kingdom of heaven against
17:09men, this kingdom is the new holy
17:11spiritual community which the redeemer
17:13came to establish and in which an inward
17:15and divine life is the ruling element.
17:17But the Pharisees by their endless
17:18external forms deterred men from
17:20entering into any such community. They
17:22blocked up the way to the temple of
17:24truth and thus prevented men from
17:25attaining the blessings of spiritual
17:27life. Here's the notes on the parable of
17:29the talents called his own servants and
17:31delivered unto them his goods. The
17:33design of this parable is to set forth
17:34the duties of the Christian life. The
17:36disciples of Christ are left in the
17:38world as his representatives and active
17:39agents and on the part which they
17:41perform depend everlasting consequences
17:43to themselves and to others. Hence the
17:45deep and thrilling earnestness with
17:46which our Lord here speaks to his
17:48professed followers. There thou hast
17:50that is thine. This was not true. Had he
17:52improved his talent, there would have
17:53been not only the talent, but the
17:55increase arising there from, and his
17:57lord claimed both justly. The sin of the
17:59servant consisted first in sloth, and
18:00then in assuming false grounds of
18:02excuse. I reap where I sowed not. That
18:05is, let it be so that I am a hard
18:07master, reaping where I have not sowed.
18:09That does not affect your
18:10responsibility. I gave you a talent to
18:12employ, and I now demand the fruit of
18:13it. The man had no return to make and
18:15hence his designation. A wicked and
18:17slothful servant and hence his doom.
18:20Here's a really interesting one. This
18:21matches the account of Enoch. In the
18:23preceding parable, we have the progress
18:25and development of Christ's kingdom in
18:27the world. Here we are carried forward
18:28to the close of the great evangelical
18:30economy and are [clears throat] set down
18:31amid the scenes and the realities of the
18:32last judgment in which there will take
18:34place a complete and endless separation
18:36between the righteous and the wicked.
18:37Christ the King shall first address the
18:39righteous in the hearing of the
18:40unrighteous, and then the unrighteous
18:42shall depart in the sight of the
18:43redeemed. Thus, the condemned will see
18:45nothing of eternal life, though the
18:47righteous will see the vengeance
18:48inflicted on the men who in the days of
18:50their probation rejected Christ and his
18:51redemption and died in their impenitence
18:54and unbelief. Awakening thoughts these,
18:56oh, for grace so to live in this sinful,
18:58selfish world, as at last to be found of
19:01Christ in peace. To those who look for
19:02him is he to appear a second time unto
19:04salvation, a salvation commenced in time
19:06and extending throughout the countless
19:08ages of eternity. Revelation 17 and 18
19:11the notes. There came one of the seven
19:13angels, the apostolic seer, having
19:14witnessed the outpouring of the seven
19:16vials. The scene changes and he has an
19:18emblematical representation of the
19:20anti-Christian
19:22church. The church anti-Christian
19:24church. A scarlet-c colored beast,
19:26scarlet or crimson, is the usual color
19:28of the trappings of the horse or mules
19:30used by the popes and the cardinals of
19:32Rome. He is the eighth and is of the
19:34seven. The papal supremacy was in fact a
19:36revival of restoration of the imperial
19:38power. And after these things, I saw
19:40another angel. This part of the vision
19:42in which Babylon or papal Rome is seen
19:45in ruins. And by the way, I'm pretty
19:46sure when they say papal Rome, they're
19:48just talking about the institutional
19:49church based on like what all of the
19:52notes say all throughout this. is seen
19:54in ruins, belongs still to the future,
19:56and therefore nothing can be said
19:57definitely as to the time or mode of its
19:59fulfillment. Rome may be regarded as
20:01Babylon commenced. Babylon may be viewed
20:03as Rome completed, therefore the
20:05interchange of names. Her plagues come
20:07in one day. It would appear from these
20:09words that the overthrow of the great
20:10city is to be sudden, instantaneous, and
20:12violent as a physical convulsion. It is
20:15not the destruction of Rome as a city,
20:16although that may be included in the
20:18prediction, but the complete
20:19annihilation of the papacy as the
20:21mystery of iniquity in the world is, we
20:23think, herefore told from the notes of
20:25Jude's epistle. At the time this epistle
20:28was written, the Simmonians, the
20:29Nicolatians, and the Gnostics were
20:31promulgating their dangerous tenants.
20:33The apostle seeks to guard the Christian
20:35converts against these false teachers.
20:37So many false prophets shall arise,
20:40guys. How else are they going to arise
20:41outside of social media? Nicolation
20:44doctrine is false. By pointing out the
20:46danger of their doctrines and their
20:47immorality of their lives and the
20:49certain punishment that awaited them, he
20:51seems to ask to what they could trust
20:52for safety. Had they experienced
20:54deliverances, so had Israel who perished
20:56in the wilderness. Had they lived near
20:58to God and been made partakers of his
21:00favor, so had the angels who were now
21:02outcasts from heaven. Would they plead
21:04their natural inclinations as an apology
21:06for sin? Had this protected the men of
21:07the guilty cities? The men were
21:09destroyed. The apostle proceeds to show
21:11that as chastisement overtook the
21:12offenders in the wilderness, the
21:14wrongdoers in heaven, and the
21:15transgressors of the plain, so would it
21:18fall upon these seducers from the faith,
21:20upon these advocates for unholiness of
21:22life. Prophecy had foretold the offense,
21:24and justice had assigned an appointed
21:26punishment for these opposers of
21:27Christ's holy gospel, and for these
21:29enemies to the welfare of men. Clouds
21:31they are without water, promising but
21:33deceptive trees whose fruit witherth,
21:35without fruit, a profession of
21:37usefulness which produces no result. the
21:39form of godliness without the power.
21:41Twice dead. Once wicked Jews or wicked
21:44Gentiles, now wicked Christians plucked
21:47up by the roots. The fruit tree that is
21:49fruitless is destroyed. John 18. Never
21:52in bondage to any man. The meaning may
21:54be that they were never as a people so
21:56reduced by any foreign power as to lose
21:58their distinct and exclusive
21:59nationality. The Savior's words,
22:01however, went far deeper than this. From
22:03the 35th verse, is it evident that our
22:05Lord clearly distinguishes between the
22:07spiritual seed of Abraham who have come
22:09into the liberty of the children of God
22:11and those who are still carnal and who
22:13being in bondage to the flesh are really
22:15enthralled or enslaved. The servant or
22:17slave abideth not in the house forever,
22:19for such is not his right. But the
22:21child, the freeborn son, can claim this
22:23as his inaliable position. I know that
22:25ye are Abraham's seed. There is no
22:27contradiction between this verse and
22:29those which precede it. While our Lord
22:30makes a distinction in the seed of
22:32Abraham between the spiritually free and
22:33the morally enslaved, he does not deny
22:35that they all have derived their natural
22:37descent from Abraham. That many of them
22:39altogether lacked the faith of their
22:40great progenitor was effectingly
22:42demonstrated by the fact that they went
22:43about to kill him in whom the faith of
22:45the patriarch reposed with unwavering
22:47confidence. You are of your father the
22:48devil. The following reading is to be
22:50preferred. You are of your father the
22:52devil and the lust of your father you
22:54love to do. He was a murderer from the
22:55beginning and abode not or did not stand
22:57fast in the truth. And now there is no
22:59truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he
23:01speaks of his own. That [clears throat]
23:02is according to his own fallen nature
23:04and evil disposition or out of his own
23:06false and wicked designs. For he is a
23:08liar and the father of lies. Thus our
23:09Lord first charges upon these opposing
23:11Jews the sin of falsehood and then shows
23:13that their lying proved their relation
23:15to the devil, the first utterer of lies,
23:17just as certainly as the truth which he
23:19uttered and pressed home upon them
23:21proved his relation to God as his
23:22father. from whom and according to whose
23:24will and purpose he had come into the
23:26world. When Jesus says to the Pharisees,
23:28"If you were blind, if you had no means
23:30of inward illumination, and if your
23:31blindness were not self-induced, you
23:33should have no sin." They would not have
23:35been guilty. But with the scriptures in
23:37their hands and with every possible
23:38means of reaching the truth, they were
23:40without excuse. How needful the prayer
23:42from hardness of hearts and contempt of
23:44thy word, good Lord, deliver us. So
23:47having access to the Bible means that we
23:49have a responsibility if we say that we
23:51believe in God. This is getting
23:52incredibly long, but I hope that maybe
23:55this helped clear things up for people.
23:57Social media is going crazy with things
24:00that 100 years ago would have been
24:01called heresy, and it seems like the
24:03masses are following suit. It's being
24:05taught in churches now as well. I didn't
24:07even get to my other antique Bible, but
24:08if anybody made it this far and wants to
24:10see like a series of this, I'll
24:12absolutely do that. Just please drop it
24:13in the comments. And hopefully this
24:14gives some insight as to why I believe
24:17the things I do. I know I get a ton of
24:18questions as to like where am I getting
24:20this from. When I first read the text,
24:21most of these things were apparent to
24:23me, but I couldn't really find many
24:24sources, if any, that agreed with the
24:26plain reading of scripture. I don't know
24:28if that's just me, but when I started to
24:30look at antique Bibles and what the
24:32early church believed, it all lines up
24:34the exact same way. I really believe,
24:36unfortunately, that the modern church is
24:37in the great delusion. There are 3
24:39billion professing Christians in the
24:41world today. And we have to look at the
24:44numbers, guys. There were eight saved
24:45from the flood, two out of Egypt.
24:47Revelation says 144,000. So, that's a
24:50relatively huge number compared to the
24:52rest. So, let's push each other through
24:54the narrow gate, reprove each other, and
24:56I love you guys so much.
