0:00If we venture into BTST within stock

0:02options , we're definitely seeing very

0:04good returns .

0:05What's the difference in mindset

0:06required for BTST and swing trading ?

0:08BTST since it's algorithm-based . I'll

0:10rate its difficulty level . The best

0:13part is the strategy means you don't

0:15even need to wait for the next day . It

0:18will give you good returns on the same

0:20day , even before 3:30 . Every day , on a

0:23good platform , I see which stocks are

0:26in highest demand . This video is very

0:28useful for traders who are working .

0:31What you're talking about is the wick

0:33in the cash market , or the wick you saw

0:35in the options charts through the

0:36solution .

0:37No , sir , I'm talking about British

0:41traders who say , " Sir , one trade per

0:43day , and over your day . " With folded

0:45hands , I request you to ignore those

0:47stocks about which news comes . Because

0:49news is a time that 90 % of traders take

0:53as a given , thinking it's time to buy .

0:56Big players don't buy on good news . Hi

1:04guys , welcome to Dhan . Welcome to

1:06today's masterclass . Friends , there are

1:09many trading styles in this market , but

What Is BTST? Sniper Trading Explained

1:12one is called the sniper trading style .

1:15Swing trading . I'd say all two trading

1:18styles have their own unique qualities .

1:20But swing trading gives you a great

1:22opportunity to think and think . You get

1:24time . Investing in positional trading

1:27gives you plenty of time . But there's

1:29one thing you don't have time for :

1:31option buying . One thing you don't have

1:34time for is BTST trading . Friends , this

1:37is called the sniper trading style , and

1:40very few people in the market have

1:42mastered it . And fortunately , today ,

1:44one such SEBI-registered research

1:47analyst has given us the time to share

1:49the full details of how he follows this

1:51sniper trading style . With us today is

1:54Dr. Gokul Chhabra . Dr. Gokul Chhabra

1:57has been in the market for over five

2:00years , practicing option-buying BTST

2:02and following precise trading styles

2:05where accuracy is paramount . Meaning ,

2:10he's an expert at catching sharp

2:12momentum , and today , he's with us , Dr.

2:14Gokul Chhabra of Dil Se Trader . So ,

2:16with your permission , I'd like to

2:18invite Dr. Gokul Chhabra on screen now .

2:20Dr. Gokul , first of all , I welcome you

2:22wholeheartedly , as that's the name of

2:24your channel , so I welcome you in the

2:26same way . And genuinely , I've seen your

2:29posts , and whatever work you do , you do

2:31it with all your heart . Very few people

2:34in the market master BTST . So , my first

2:38question is , rather , before I come to

2:40you with a question , I'd like to inform

2:42our viewers that please don't try to

2:44watch our masterclass today on your

2:46mobile phone . Try to use a laptop , PC ,

2:49desktop , or tablet . And apart from this

2:52, sit with Dhan Charts open . Open Dhan

2:55Option Trader Web . Open Dhan Power

2:58Scalper . Because the things you're

3:00going to learn here today , you've

3:02probably never learned in any other

3:04masterclass . I'm telling you this very

3:07genuinely . So , now I invite Dr. Gokul

3:09here again . Dr. Gokul , thank you so

3:11much for giving us your time today and

3:13for taking time out of your business

3:14schedule . And most importantly , you

3:16mentioned that you're going to share

3:18all the knowledge you've accumulated

3:19over the past several years with us . So

3:21, first of all , thank you so much for

3:22welcoming me , Himanshu . First of all ,

3:24thank you so much for welcoming me . And

3:25I think no other host can always give

3:28such a powerful introduction as you .

3:30No , you deserve it , so

3:31thank you so much for inviting me and

3:34giving me another opportunity to speak

3:36with our audience . Thank you from the

3:38bottom of my heart for that .

3:39We put our heart and soul into any

3:41analysis . You must have seen this in

3:43our social media posts , and today , for

3:45all our viewers watching on Dhan , I'm

3:48going to talk about BTST , as you

3:50mentioned . I've brought an envelope ,

3:53and inside this envelope is something

3:55written that will probably surprise

3:57everyone : the power of BTST . If I had

4:00to define BTST in words , I'd have

4:02written something to define it . I think

4:05the majority of traders don't

4:07understand the concept of BTST . I think

4:09everyone knows what intraday trading ,

4:11swing trading , and positional investing

4:12are . But many traders don't know about

4:15BTST ( buy today , sell tomorrow ) . So ,

4:18I'm opening this envelope and I want

BTST vs Intraday: Risk vs Reward

4:22you to read it all over the screen , sir

4:25.

4:26I want to show it here . Sir , it says

4:29something like , " BTST trading is 10

4:31times easier and gives two to three

4:34times more returns than intraday

4:36trading , but it has one problem . " Now ,

4:39what is this problem ? We'll discuss it .

4:41Thank you so much for this , sir . I'll

4:43remember this . BDST trading has been an

4:46area of my interest for many years ,

4:48because I don't know how accurate your

4:51statement is . Of course , you're a

4:52practitioner , so you'll know . But I do

4:54know that you carry just one day's risk

4:56overnight , and that can make you a lot

4:58of money because gap-ups and gap-downs

4:59are very frequent in the Indian market .

5:02Before we continue in the video , I need

5:04to tell you something very interesting .

5:06If you want to better plan your MTF

5:08trades and eliminate all the guesswork

5:11from your setup , we've created a

5:13completely free MTF trading Excel sheet

5:16that will handle all the calculations

5:18for you . This sheet will tell you how

5:21much MTF leverage you can use based on

5:24your capital , risk appetite , stock type

5:26, and investment horizon . What should

5:29be your total position size ? What would

5:31be the ideal stop-loss based on trading

5:33rules ? What would be your maximum risk

5:36if the stop-loss is hit ? It will also

5:39clearly show you the actual impact of

5:41leverage and your overall risk level so

5:43you can make an informed decision

5:45before each trade . So , pause this video

5:48now . Create a copy of your free Excel

5:50sheet by filling out the Google Form

5:52link provided in the description . And

5:55without further distraction , let's

5:57return to our topic .

5:59So ,

5:59gap-ups and gap-downs in the Indian

6:01market are a major concern for many

6:03traders and analysts , especially those

6:05carrying

6:06overnight positions . Global risks have

6:08a significant impact . What uncertainty

6:10will there be in the overnight market ?

6:12Currently , there's a war situation .

6:13There's talk of US-India trade deals .

6:16There's talk of a US-Iran war truce .

Why BTST Is Ideal for Working Professionals

6:18Sometimes it's dropped . So , there's

6:19definitely a volatility factor . Because

6:22of gap-ups and gap-downs , traders often

6:24fear what the next morning holds .

6:26There's anticipation and curiosity . But

6:29for many smart traders who probably

6:31don't know about BTST , they miss

6:34opportunities .

6:35BTST videos are especially useful for

6:38those traders who are employed or in

6:41business and cannot devote much time to

6:45the market . I'm telling you literally ,

6:47you need less than 40 minutes a day and

6:50you can master BTST . The best thing

6:52about BTST , sir , is that your stop loss

6:55is definitely very difficult to place .

6:57I'll explain the problem I've written

6:59about . But if you're using two stop

7:02losses and three targets , even if your

7:05win ratio is poor , your returns are so

7:08high . You can see so much of the gap up

7:11and gap down that they compensate for

7:12all your losses . What I

Risk-Reward Is More Important Than Win Rate

7:14mean to you is that we're not playing

7:15by win rate here ; we're playing by

7:17risk-reward ratio here . By risking ₹

7:191 , we earn a reward of ₹ 3 , ₹ 4 , or

7:21whatever your number is . And it's not

7:24necessary that we win 90 % of the time .

7:25We might only win 50 % of the time . But

7:27the risk-reward ratio will be good . As

7:29far as options buying is concerned ,

7:32even 90 % is impossible . It's

7:34all a game of risk-reward , and BTST is

7:36just one variation of that . Now , how is

7:38this 10 times easier ? I'll definitely

7:40talk about why I think it's better than

7:42intraday . There's a major problem with

7:45this , which I'll definitely try to

7:47address and how to overcome it .

7:50Everything has a problem , so there will

7:51be a session . Obviously , there's a

7:53session for that too . I'll try to

7:55provide that to my audience here . Sir ,

7:57but before we get into the strategy ,

7:59I'd like to ask you , as far as I

8:01understand , any trader in the market

8:04starts with intraday , swing trading ,

8:06positions , and investing . I've seen

8:09very few people who started with BTST .

8:12So I'm sure , or perhaps I'm assuming ,

8:14that you too must have faced many

8:16setbacks in the past . After that , you

8:18came to BTST . So the question is , why

8:20BTST ? Why not something else , which is

8:22traditionally what everyone does ? There

Why Stock Options Work Better for BTST

8:23are

8:23two major reasons for me to do BTST .

8:27The first reason was that I was one of

8:29two people who had a strong interest in

8:31the market but couldn't fully commit to

8:33it . I was

8:34busy with other ventures , my student

8:36life , and my other commitments were

8:37preparing for entrance exams .

8:39But this was during the Covid era , when

8:42BTST saw huge gap-ups and huge

8:44gap-downs . Back then , gap-ups weren't

8:46common ; they were rather gap-downs .

8:48Because the Covid situation was ongoing

8:50, and there were always some kind of

8:52reaction , that another lockdown was

8:53imminent . Now , the market was about to

8:55open gap-down again . So , many famous

8:57analysts and writers I used to follow

9:00overnight were buying puts . Obviously ,

9:02you'd be influenced by something to see

9:04the market's potential . Back then ,

9:06there wasn't so much capital . Then I

9:08realized , one by one , we started with

9:10one lot each in Nifty , Bank , Nifty ,

9:12Midcap . After that , I realized that

9:15there was again a lot of manipulation

9:17within Nifty , Bank , Nifty . FII and DI

9:19data would sometimes reveal something

9:20else . One day they'd be buying , the

9:22next day they'd be selling . So , even

9:25that wasn't solidly established . And

9:27this is my second point : what are the

9:29two biggest reasons why I was so

9:31attracted to BTST ? We started

9:33experimenting with BTST within stock

9:36options and realized that it's much

9:39safer . Even though the market index may

9:42experience a large gap up or gap down ,

9:4450 % of the stocks remain sideways . They

9:48open sideways the next day , and the

9:50remaining 50 % open gap up or gap down

9:52depending on the previous day's and

9:55previous week's trends .

9:56So these were the two biggest reasons .

9:58Firstly , there was no time commitment ,

10:00and secondly , I began to see that

10:02venturing into BTST within stock

10:04options would definitely yield very

10:06good returns . You can't simply use

10:08large lot sizes because the quantity

10:10within each lot becomes very high . If I

10:12talk about stock options , for

10:14example , a Nifty lot is worth 65 , or a

10:16Bank Nifty lot is worth 30. Similarly ,

10:19if you buy a Reliance lot , it's worth

10:21somewhere in the 100s . A Don

10:24Technologies lot is also worth

10:26somewhere in the 100s .

10:27So , you can't invest more than one lot

10:29in it anyway .

BTST Mindset & Algorithm-Based Trading

10:30Its risk-reward ratio is much better .

10:32This is one of the reasons I started

10:34venturing into BTST , and I recommend

10:37everyone to try it . First , it will

10:39maintain your discipline . You know , I

10:41only want to take one trade a day ,

10:43even if it's just one lot . So ,

10:45obviously , it depends on capital . The

10:47recommendation is to trade one lot a

10:48day . What about intraday ? You're

10:51hitting your stop-loss on one trade .

10:52Now , you're taking revenge the next day

10:54. What's the point of BTST ? You'll only

10:55find out what happened at 5:15 in the

10:57morning .

10:57After that , you have the whole day to

11:00reset your mindset .

11:02So , now you're planning again . So , this

11:0624 - hour mind-reset period definitely

11:09gives traders an edge in BTST ,

11:11according to me .

11:12Right , right , right . Otherwise , in

11:14intraday trading , we constantly play

11:15games with our minds , or our minds play

11:17games with us . Your point is very valid

11:20. What difference does the mindset

11:22require for BTST and swing trading ?

11:24Then we'll move on to strategy . So , is

11:26there a difference in mindset ? If I'm a

11:28swing trader and I want to move to BTST

11:31, what do I need to lean toward ? Is

11:33there a specific skill I need to learn ?

11:36Is there a specific behavioral skill I

11:38need to develop ? Is there something

11:40like that ? According to me , if a swing

11:43trader scores 10 out of 10 on a

11:46difficulty level , I'd give swing

11:48trading an 8 out of 10. Or maybe I'd

11:52give swing trading a slightly lower

11:54score , say , a 5. I'd

11:56give intraday trading an 8 or 9.

11:59Because it requires high accuracy , high

12:02prediction tools , a high

12:04wind rate , a high risk-reward ratio ,

12:06and very fast execution . I really like

12:10the features they've added to Power

12:12Scalper Option Trader . I think they're

12:15very helpful as a trader . But I want to

12:17give you an inside look at BTST . BTST

Rule-Based Stock Selection Framework

12:20is completely algorithm-based . It

12:23doesn't require any technical knowledge

12:25. Everyone thinks " algorithm " is a good

12:27AI , an algorithm . I'm a non-techie .

12:29What should I do ? No , no , algorithm

12:31means data .

12:32You should follow a set rule . Find some

12:35stocks based on that data . Find some

12:38strike prices . If they fit your

12:40category , your algorithm , you can buy

12:42them without hesitation , and you can

12:45carry them forward in the evening .

12:48What's the difference between swing

12:50trading and intraday trading ? You have

12:51to track stocks .

12:53You have to track indices . You'll

12:56automatically fall in love with them .

12:57When you look at Nifty charts every day

12:59, you'll start to understand Nifty . But

13:02Nifty , as something you devote a lot of

13:07time to , develops a soft corner for it .

13:11It even moves your stop loss , and you

13:13say , " No , I won't give up . " What's the

13:15best thing about BTST ? 225 , almost 225 ,

13:18230 , when we're talking about FAO

13:20stocks here .

13:22So , it could be that today I'm buying a

13:24Merco put overnight ,

13:26and tomorrow I'm buying a BSE call . The

13:30difficulty level of each attachment is

13:32very low . BTST since it's

13:33algorithm-based . I'd rate its

13:35difficulty level at two or three . So ,

13:38it's very easy to carry . You just have

13:41to follow the rules . You just have to

13:43understand that , according to my rules ,

13:45a stock or stock option fits into that

13:47category . It's not necessary that the

13:49next day , I bought a BS call overnight

13:52on May 26th with that same stock option

13:54. So , on May 27th , I might be buying an

13:57Angel One put .

13:58This is an extraordinary feature that

14:01keeps you detached from the market and

14:03helps you take trades based on

14:05algorithms .

14:06No , this is quite surprising because I

14:08was expecting you to say that BTST is a

14:1110 out of 10 because I view BTST the

14:13same way I view option buying , as I

14:15rarely practice BTST myself . But given

14:18the curiosity you've generated , I think

14:19we should jump straight to the strategy

14:21and understand what you've described .

14:23So , let's do one thing : let the viewers

14:25decide whether it's a 2 out of 10 or a

14:2710 out of 10 , and I'll represent the

14:29viewers here . So , explain the strategy

14:31to me , and I'll ask you questions on

14:32behalf of the viewers . And here , I'd

14:34also request the viewers that if you

14:36have any questions , please make sure to

14:38post them in the comments section . We

14:40will ensure that we take time from

14:42Gokul Sir to answer all your questions .

14:44So , I'll take special time from him . As

14:46we accumulate 100 comments , we'll take

14:48an hour from Gokul Sir and then we'll

14:50start answering all those questions

14:51again . Even if we remain busy during

14:54market hours , I have a request for all

14:58our viewers : this video should have a

15:01minimum of 5,000 likes . And the BTST

15:05strategy I'm trying to share with you

15:08is life-changing . I mean , what I'm

15:11explaining , and again , there are many

15:13strategies . No strategy can be 100 %

15:15foolproof . What works for me may not

15:17work for you . It may not work for

15:19someone else . This is a dialogue from a

15:22movie : I'm not scared of the 100 moves

15:24you've practiced once . You , I'm scared

15:26of the one move you've practiced

15:28infinite times and countless times . So ,

15:30I'm definitely giving you this BTST

15:32strategy . But you have to put the word

15:34BTST in your mind and write it in the

15:36comments . Write " I love BTST " in the

15:39comments . What happens with this is

15:41that the Universe manifests what you

15:43write and gives it to you . So , I'm sure

15:46the BTST I'm explaining will help you

15:48in a practical way . Otherwise , you

15:50should try it yourself to see which

15:53BTST strategy is most effective for you

15:55, suits you , and works for you . This is

15:57my special request . I'll

15:59ensure that our viewers will practice

16:00this a lot because our viewers are

16:02actually the people I talk to here ,

16:04whom we meet on YouTube Live . So , they

16:06have started creating their own

16:09strategies . Now , after many

16:10masterclasses , people who have learned

16:12strategies from intelligent people like

16:13you have started building their own

16:15strategies . So , I'm very sure you can

16:17use Sir's strategy as it is . And if you

16:20feel like you need to tweet a minus in

16:22that strategy based on your own

16:24behavior , Sir , what do you want to

16:26tweet ? Please write in the comments .

16:27Gokul Sir will explain whether it's a

16:29logical tweak or not . Sir , should we

Building a BTST Trading Algorithm

16:31start ?

16:31Let's start .

16:32So , as I mentioned , Multiple works on

16:34an algorithm . I'm teaching you how to

16:36develop an algorithm . Algorithms can be

16:39developed manually and can also be

16:41coded . I'm

16:42sure those with a technical background

16:44will try to code it . I'm sure you can

16:46do it and backtest and see the results .

16:48I believe in forward testing more than

16:50backtesting . Backtesting data can

16:53sometimes be misleading .

16:55If I were to say , Nifty has given zero

16:58returns in the last two years .

17:01Now , hearing this , more than half of

17:02traders will be tempted to run away ,

17:03wondering why I even entered the Indian

17:05stock market to invest ? Should

17:06I invest my time elsewhere ? When the

17:08index's two-year return is 0 % , what am

17:11I doing in the market ? I believe more

17:14in forward testing than backtesting .

17:16This doesn't mean traders will stop

17:17investing . Let's say Nifty returns 0 % in

17:20two years . This doesn't mean SIPs have

17:23stopped . It doesn't mean there won't be

17:24any more investments in the market .

17:26This is a phase . It's a fad , and it

17:28will pass . Similarly , if I'm telling

17:30you about a strategy , try coding it .

17:33Try backtesting manually . But

17:35definitely try forward testing as well .

17:36Experiment with your favorite stocks .

17:42The best thing about the rules I'm

17:44giving is that each stock is considered

17:47neutrally , whether it's mid-cap ,

17:50large-cap , or small-cap . If it's listed

17:53as a FNO stock , it will work for

17:55everyone . Whether it's Redo Hatan , LIC

18:00stock , ITC stock , Merico , BS , or Anjal

18:031. Again , you'll have to address the

18:06liquidity issue . We'll discuss that

18:08further . Step number one , I'll take you

18:10to the strategy . Okay ? I'm coming to

18:12Dhan . This is my official website ,

18:15which I'll write here : tv.co. Many

18:17traders don't know this . TradingView's

Finding F&O Stocks on Dhan Charts

18:20TradingView is everyone's favorite ,

18:22brother . Everyone views charts on

18:23TradingView . But there's a

18:24collaboration between Dhan and

18:26TradingView , where you get to see

18:28TradingView's premium features in Dhan .

18:31The biggest feature that personally

18:33helps me a lot is multi-charts . For

18:35example , I can place three charts here ,

18:37or two charts . There are four charts

18:40available , and I wouldn't be able to

18:42set up three charts in the free version

18:44of TradingView . I can do this within

18:47Dhan . Any trader with a Dhan account

18:49can go to TV.com and log in to their

18:51Dhan account . These are TradingView's

18:54sponsored charts . You can check them

18:56out . Another great tool I really enjoy

18:59is the replay feature . It also allows

19:01for backtesting . So what will I do

19:03first ? I'll go to FNO Stocks . Right

19:06here , there's a button that says "

19:08Indices Details . " Here , I'll go to FAO

19:11Stocks . Since we're going to move BTST

19:13under FNO Stocks , we need to know which

19:15FAO stocks are . First , I'll go to

19:18Underline FAO Stocks . The best part is

19:20that you'll also see Nifty 50

19:21segregated stocks and Bank Nifty

19:23segregated stocks . A list of all the

19:25stocks listed in Bank Nifty will appear

19:27. Specifically , are the stocks listed

19:29in Bank Nifty trading in FNO or not ?

19:31Are futures and options available for

19:32them ? Their features will be displayed

19:34here . Then , Nifty's will be displayed

19:35here . We'll go in . We don't buffer

19:37anything right now . Some are large caps

19:39, some are in NIFI , some are not , some

19:40are in mid caps , some are not . I just

19:42explained where we place neutrals above

19:44that . First , I'll go to the underlying

19:46FNO stocks . And this is a list . Now ,

19:48this is 250 , this is 230. That's not

19:50your job to know . They'll look at NSC ,

19:52and this is the broker . Your job is to

19:55list the underlying FNO stocks . And at

19:57255 , I'm going to discuss the strategy .

20:00What's the logic behind the 255 BTST

The 2:55 PM Stock Selection Strategy

20:03Momentum Framework ? At 255 PM , we'll go

20:07to the underlying FNO stocks . On a

20:10daily basis , when the market opens at

20:122:55 , I'll go and click on Percentage

20:14Change . I now have Top Gainers . If I

20:18click here , I get Top Losers . If I

20:20click on Gain again , I get Top Winners .

20:22I'm explaining this again . Don't click

20:23on Change , because change is relative .

20:26Percentage Change is absolute , because

20:28again , it also considers the base .

20:30We've applied a filter to Percentage

20:32Change . As I'm noticing , the market is

20:34experiencing a bit of negative

20:36sentiment these days . While we're

20:37recording this video , the market is

20:39gripped by negative sentiment . So , what

20:41does my psychology say ? If Nifty , Bank ,

20:44Nifty , Midcap are trading negatively , I

20:46mostly want to track the stocks that

20:48are top losers .

20:49Sir , I have a question here . You

20:51mentioned that at this time , when we're

20:53recording the video , there's bearish

20:55sentiment . What is your definition of

20:58bearish sentiment ? If we go back a

20:59second to this chart , let's look at the

21:01Nifty chart . How do you feel , or how

21:04can we get confirmation from our

21:06viewers whether to buy a put or go for

21:08a call ? So , what is your definition of

21:09bearish sentiment ? Bearish sentiment

21:11won't make sense at the intraday level ,

How to Identify Market Sentiment Before a Trade

21:13let alone for an entire month . I'm just

21:17trying to explain this in the last few

21:19zones on a 15 - minute timeframe or a 20 -

21:21minute timeframe . This is a zone

21:23between 25 and 26 , let's say 22. I'm

21:26talking about a week . If I look at the

21:30market from the beginning of a week ,

21:33the market is moving around its lows

21:35and lows . Basically , bearish sentiment

21:38is a very subjective term . According to

21:41some traders , I'm looking at the

21:43one-hour timeframe , and they'll see

21:45this as a huge bull sentiment for them .

21:48Some people might be looking at it this

21:50way , and some might be looking at it

21:52that way . Correct ? Some people might be

21:53looking at it that way . What I mean by

21:56that is a very subjective term , but

21:58bull sentiment is because I can't just

22:01consider the Indian stock market . I

22:03also have to look at what the dub zones

22:05are doing . I also have to see whether

22:07FIIs are selling or buying in the

22:08Indian stock market . So , FIIs have been

22:11selling heavily until 2026 , while we're

22:14making this video . So , the Indian stock

22:18market isn't showing much strength yet .

22:20And as I told you , sir , I just informed

22:23you that the two-year return of the

22:25Nifty has reached zero . It's zero . So ,

22:28in my opinion , this should be treated

22:30as negative sentiment . Okay ? Broadly

22:32speaking , because we're currently in

22:34the midst of a war , the Indian markets

22:36aren't performing well . I don't know

22:39whether they're bearish or not , but

22:40they certainly haven't been bullish in

22:41the last few days . So , from this

22:42perspective , we're saying that a

22:43bearish sentiment is prevailing in the

22:45market right now . So , this becomes our

22:47base statement .

22:48And Sir , I want to mention one more

22:49thing . What has the market done in the

22:51last two days ? Let me take a look at

22:53that . For example , here , in the last

22:55two days , the market has tried to form

22:57a sell-on-rise structure , low , high ,

22:59low , and low .

23:00This could also be a sentiment . You'll

23:03understand it better from the

23:04perspective of BTST . Similarly , if you

23:06look at this trend , Sir , what would you

23:08call it ? It hit a low on May 20th and

23:1021st . Then it recovered . Then it

23:12happened again on May 22nd . Now , call

23:14it sideways . Call it sentiment neutral .

23:16So , these can be different perspectives

23:18, different mindsets . But yes , if you

23:19look at the trend of the last two days ,

23:21you'll at least get a little idea of

23:23what Nifty and Bank Nifty are looking

23:24to do . Another thing is , what is the

23:26percentage change of Nifty and Bank

23:29Nifty ? How much higher did the high

23:30close than the previous day ? How much

23:32lower did it close than the previous

23:33day's high ? For now , I'll consider it

23:35bearish . Look at the global markets .

23:37Looking at the global cues and based on

23:38the last two days ' data . Okay ? Now I'll

23:40go into FAO . Underline FAO . Click on

23:43Percentage Up . I also want to inform

23:47you that the market , Nifty and Bank

23:49Nifty , is negative . This doesn't mean

23:51I'll take the put side of BDST . That's

23:53my preference . We've seen many such

23:55trades where Nifty and Bank Nifty

23:57opened gap down , and the shares we had

23:59placed calls on . The stock options we

24:02had placed calls on gave targets of 1 ,

24:052 , 3 , and spiked up to 10-20 % . We

24:08closed overnight at 9:18 without doing

24:10anything . See , the entire day has

24:14passed . The target for the day is over .

24:16There's no scope for overtrading

24:17because the target has been reached .

24:19And in the case of SL , there's no scope

24:21for overtrading because the SL has been

24:23hit .

24:23So , it's not necessary , but it's

24:25preferred . Similarly , if I feel like

24:27the market is bullish from here , and

24:29the market is gaining momentum , I'll go

24:31to the percentage chain and somewhere

24:33there , I'll start looking at the top

24:35gainers and stop losers . There are many

24:39days when stock options remain sideways

24:42throughout the day . And this starts

24:44moving exactly at 255. You can backtest

24:47this . They start gaining momentum

24:50around 2:55 or 3:00 . Because in

24:52institutional investing , buying and

24:55selling happens at that time . Momentum

24:57starts to flow at that time . And when I

25:00say sideways , start gaining momentum .

25:02Momentum doesn't necessarily mean up .

25:04Momentum can also mean downward . It

25:06could be

25:06downward . So , here I click on

25:08Percentage Change and here I connect

25:10the Top Gainers , Top Losers , Collect .

Choosing the Right BTST Stocks

25:13Again , my list is back . Now I'll go to

25:17COM India . Now I've told you step one .

25:19Go to the underlying FAO stocks . Be

25:21sure to check the market sentiment and

25:24start looking at your top five losers

25:26and top five gainers to see what

25:28they're doing . Now , let's leave the

25:30losers aside . Let's start with the

25:32gainers . We'll come back to the losers

25:33anyway . I'll tell you how to place

25:35calls and puts , but it's recommended

25:38that you start with just one : BTST . Now

25:40, let's come to Cummins India and look

25:44at its chart . It has a very interesting

25:47feature . I've opened the Cummins India

25:50chart . To identify BDST , I'll first try

25:54setting some conditions here . I'll use

25:58my CPR here first . CPR basically helps

26:02me a lot , especially in intraday

26:04trading . Because what do we do ? We

26:06create levels throughout the day . It

26:08creates levels automatically .

26:10For example , Pivot Points is a very

26:11famous indicator with standard

26:13Fibonacci settings . It's available on

26:14YouTube . CPR is an underrated indicator

26:18that many people don't know about . So ,

26:22CPR with Pivot Level Daily . What

26:24happens is that it automatically marks

CPR Indicator for High-Probability Setups

26:25the previous day's high and the

26:26previous day's low . No need to think

26:29too hard . What is it ? Why is it there ?

26:30It doesn't have much relevance for us .

26:32Previous day's high and previous day's

26:33low are the most important . Basically ,

26:35you need to turn on the top five

26:37settings . I'll tell you how to trade

26:40within it .

26:40Okay ?

26:41This is the first one . Now , we've seen

26:43that India has already seen such a big

26:44rally here . So , I have a doubt in my

26:47mind that it has already seen such a

26:49big rally . If you look at the 3 - hour

26:51time frame , it has already broken out

26:54of its lifetime high . So , this stock

26:56has already formed a breakout right now

26:57. So , I want to see this here . Now ,

26:59after such a big rally , it even closed

27:01above the previous day's high . What's

27:03the main logic for placing a CPR ? I

27:05need to see if the market closed above

27:07the previous day's high . So , yes , this

27:09fits my category so far , so I should

27:12buy BTST , within this call . Which stock

27:14option should I buy ? How should I chain

27:16this option ? We'll talk about ITM / OTM /

27:19ATM . But has this stock completely

27:21qualified yet ? The answer is no . I need

27:24to see if it's been bought out ? Wait a

27:27second . Why is the answer no ? Because

27:29it closed above the previous day's high

27:31.

27:31So far , the answer is yes , but the

27:33answer is not completely yes . Because

27:34there's one more condition I need to

RSI Filter to Avoid Weak Trades

27:36check .

27:36I need to check if the RSI is

27:40supporting this . So , I won't be leaving

27:44in 15 minutes . Now , I'm going to look

27:47at the RSI here , somewhere around 2:55 ,

27:50on a 5 - minute timeframe . The RSI is 86.

27:57So , our first condition is to look at

27:58the 3 - hourly chart to see if the CPR (

28:00for that matter ) on any timeframe is

28:02above the previous high close .

28:03Sir , I'd like to point out that it's

28:05recommended to stick to the 5 - minute

28:06timeframe because we do

28:09all our analysis on the 5 - minute

28:10timeframe . So , let's

28:12open a spot chart . Look , this is called

28:13a spot chart .

28:14Right ? This has a futures chart . You'll

28:16see the Commons India June Futures here

28:18. This also has an options chart . But

28:21right now , we're talking about the

28:22stock's spot chart .

28:23So , our viewers , our users , can open a

28:255 - minute chart of any stock , such as

28:27the Commons India June Futures . Apply

28:30that CPR in 5 minutes and check whether

28:31it's above yesterday's high . We have

28:33marked that . So that condition is being

28:35met . Now we come to the second

28:36condition on the same time frame . We

28:38have applied our RSI at 255. What value

28:41of RSI do we need ? Sir , we need RSI .

28:44Our RSI can be between 5 to 75 Sir .

28:48Okay .

28:48Now it has reached 86.

28:51Okay

28:52RSI Sir , when I am saying 50 to 75 ,

28:55don't stop at 76. Now sometimes what do

28:57we do in hard algorithms , we put a dead

29:00stop at 75.

29:0275 76 will work . This range will

29:04continue .

29:04But

29:05at 85 86 85 86. So Sir , this is trying

29:07to tell that I am at overbought region .

29:09Right ? So , when I consider how to trade

29:12the overbought region , it's possible

29:17that you look at COMES India and say , "

29:18No , man , this isn't satisfying our

29:20conditions , " and tomorrow it might gap

29:21up . So ,

29:23sir , everything is a probability .

29:26There's no

29:26guarantee of anything .

29:28We didn't buy anyone ; they can go

29:29wherever they want . That doesn't matter

29:31to me . The one we bought should go in

29:32my direction . That's what matters to me

29:34.

29:34Exactly , I don't even care what the

29:36other stock did . That's right ,

29:37it will create a FOMO , and it will

29:39start glaring at us the next day . At

29:433:00 , we'll forget the algorithm that

29:44we missed it .

29:45It was a miss . We'll forget the

29:46algorithm . The next day , we'll say , "

29:48Hey , he gave it a try the day before .

29:50Buy it again . " It doesn't work like

29:52that .

29:52We've checked these two conditions .

29:54According to these two conditions ,

29:55according to the second condition ,

29:57Cummins India is strictly highly

29:58overbought .

29:59Absolutely overbought . According to me ,

30:01it shouldn't go .

30:02I'll put the underlying FAO under the

30:04same conditions . Again , sir , you're

30:06saying there are two conditions ,

30:07according to me . Again , there are three

30:09conditions . The

30:10first condition is that we're checking

30:12the underlying FNO's top gainers .

30:13Right ? It's

30:14not like you can just pick any stock .

30:15You can pick Zomato or Eternal .

30:17Eternal's name doesn't even appear

30:19among the top gainers . So why should I

30:20check the conditions there ?

30:21Correct .

30:22So my first condition would be to check

30:23the top gainers . Let's come to XID

30:25India . Has

30:26XID India closed above the previous

30:29day's high on a 5 - minute time frame ?

30:31Yes , the answer is one way the stock

30:33ran . And the good thing is that the RSI

30:37is also near 55 , 56 ,

30:40sorry , the RSI is near 59 ,

30:42right ?

30:42So that's a good thing . This means all

30:45three conditions have been met . It's

30:47also a top gainer . It closed above the

30:49CPR , and it also checked its RSI level ,

30:52indicating that this could be a good

30:55potential for an overnight BTST call .

30:59Sir , look at how easy the process is .

31:03We were thinking that as soon as the

31:05first stock was rejected , we would find

31:07another stock . We might find SGI , and

31:10we'll test on that too . But now we've

31:12found XID India , XID Industries , so

31:14let's test on that . Now what are they

31:16trying to do with Exide Industries ?

Selecting the Right Stock Option Strike Price

31:18Now , when I go to XID Industries , I'm

31:20going to identify the stock . Now comes

31:23my third step . Step number three is

31:26whether the stock option is to be

31:28carried for overnight . Is it necessary

31:31to satisfy only the validity of the

31:33stock or only the stock's condition ?

31:35The stock condition says that my stock

31:38qualifies for an overnight BTST

31:40position on the long side .

31:42But I also need to check how the

31:46stock's options are behaving .

31:49Sir , I'd like to pause here for a

31:51minute . We're making this video today ;

31:55we'll find out tomorrow . Can you show

31:58us a recent example where you've

31:59explained this condition ? We'll focus

32:02on stock options . But can you show us a

32:04recent example of what a gap-up or BTST

32:06trade looks like and what the next

32:08day's results are ? Whether it's a

32:10stop-loss or a target , it doesn't

32:11matter . But do you recall any recent

32:13examples you provided yesterday , the

32:15day before , or last week ? So , how does

32:17that look ? How much of a gap-up is

32:19there ? Is there a gap-down in terms of

32:21a bad trade ? If we look at that first ,

32:22then we'll move on to options . I'm very

32:24, very first of all , thank you for

32:27posing this question . And by chance , or

32:30maybe you can say , X Industries , this

32:32is a stock that could have made a very

32:35good BTST trade on the 25th . If I were

32:38to run a backtest and show you , then

32:40definitely , around the 25th , when we

32:43were making this video , it had

32:45broken the previous day's high , exactly

32:48around 255. This is its previous day's

32:50high , sir . Yes , it had

32:51broken it ,

32:52and its RSI is somewhere around 255 , in

32:56the same 55 - to - 75 range .

32:58Its RSI is basically around 63.

33:01So , yes , this stock was eligible for a

33:03BTST overnight long position . Now , I'll

33:06explain the strategy for its stock

33:07options : how to find stock options . But

Real BTST Trade Example & Profit Booking

33:10if you can see the next day , as soon as

33:12the market opens at 325 , the best

33:15strategy is that you might not even

33:17need to wait for the next day . It could

33:22give you good returns on the same day ,

33:24before 3:30 PM . That's a possibility ,

33:27sir . There's no guarantee , but it is a

33:29possibility . Exide India is one example

33:31.

33:31Okay .

33:32If this stock was discovered at 255 and

33:35the trade was taken at 320 , sir , it

33:38would have gained almost 1 % by the time

33:41the market closed .

33:45In such a case , you should book it on

33:47the same day .

33:47Sir , my recommendation in such a case

33:49is that if you have purchased two lots ,

33:51you should make a partial booking . You

33:53should book 50 % of your quantity . 50 %

33:56should be booked on the same day , and

33:58the remaining 50 % can be carried over .

34:01But if you've only bought one lot , my

34:03recommendation still remains . No , sir ,

34:05hold on .

34:06The one that gave such a strong

34:07breakout at 325 , even though it may

34:09have gone into overbought territory at

34:11that time , still needs to be held

34:13because we've already made a profit .

34:16It significantly reduces our risk .

34:18So , if we take it overnight , there's a

34:20chance of even more returns . Like what

34:22happened with Exide India , it gave such

34:24a big pump at 325 that day . It jumped ,

34:26and when it opened the next day , even

34:29though you'll see it opened below the

34:31previous day's closing , it pulled so

34:33high in the first candle that I'll tell

34:35you the exit position . The exit timing

34:38is exactly between 9:15 and 9:18 . If we

34:41hold too much , it may get manipulated ,

34:44or there may be heavy pressure , or it

34:47may open negatively . Then we book it at

34:50915 itself . If it is booked in our

34:52favor , then we should book it till 9:15

34:54, 918 or maximum 920. Even if the stock

34:56comes on FOMO the next day , the stock

34:58ran down completely the next day . I

35:01wish I had held it the whole day . No ,

35:02sir , see , the algorithm is working . The

35:04algorithm tells us to follow a logical

35:06set of rules . So , we have to book

35:09between 9:15 and 920. Exide India is

35:11one example . If we see , are these same

35:14conditions being repeated on May 26 ?

35:17Exactly at 2:55 on May 26 , at 2:55 , 255

35:21, sir , at 255 , we identified that the

35:24stock is above the previous day's high .

35:28But the stock here is currently trading

35:31at an oversold RSI ( RSI ) , sorry ,

35:33overbought RSI . Technically , when I

35:37identified this stock on May 26th , I

35:39shouldn't have bought BTST . And the

35:42same thing happened . If I had

35:43identified BTST at 255 with BTST lates .

35:46Even if I had bought it at 320 , it

35:48opened with a slight gap down the next

35:51day . Even then , it went up .

35:53Therefore , it's recommended not to move

35:56it into overbought territory , as it's

35:58better . Again , some news may have

36:00caused this stock to pump so much . Why

36:02didn't we expect it to go so high on

36:04May 26th ? It was in overbought

36:06territory . It seems so today because

36:08the buying pressure has returned to

36:10normal . Basically , its

36:12RSI is around 60.

36:15Now it can run further .

36:16It has more potential . Now , sir , let me

36:19quickly explain to you how to work with

36:21stock options . We've got it covered .

36:24Now , sir , there's a very extraordinary

Using Power Scalper for Faster Execution

36:26feature of Dhan that I use . Power

36:27Scalper is how it works . I'll explain

36:29it to all our traders . Go to tv.com and

36:33you'll see that when you click on this

36:36particular arrow , the Super Order Trade

36:38Plan , Power Scalper , and the scalper

36:41mode will appear . As soon as you click

36:43on Scalper mode , you can easily buy and

36:46sell within this stock , and you can

36:48also exit within it . I've used it a lot

36:50. It's very useful for scalping . They

36:54have a feature called Power Scalper .

36:56When I click on it , a website like this

36:59appears in Power Scalper : scalper.com .

37:02What does it do ? I had XTide India open

37:04. Look , what magic did it do ? We didn't

37:06do anything , didn't mess with anything .

37:08I simply turned on Power Scalper mode

37:10on the Dhan chart , and the Excite

37:12Industries chart appeared . Call and put

37:15options also appeared . And what trade

37:18should I place here ? My trading engine

37:20basically started appearing on the

37:22right side . If I wanted , I could remove

37:24the put . Only the call would be visible

37:25. I could remove the call . Only the

37:26spot would be visible . I could place

37:27both . I could remove the spot . This way

37:30, it helps a lot in comparison .

37:32Now ,

37:33sir , as I can see here , the 1 - minute

37:35time frame is 5 minutes . I'm sure that

37:37if we place this , I'll see liquidity

37:39descent here . For example , if you place

37:42a 5 - minute put . Yes ,

37:43we should do that technically . We

37:45should do it for 5 minutes , sir . And

37:46all charts should be viewed technically

37:48for 5 minutes only . But you also have

37:50liquidity conditions , like how many

37:52lots should be traded in the option

37:53you're trading , or what the

37:55buyer-seller gap should be . These

37:57conditions are

37:59very simple . If I go back to this , I'll

38:01see the data from the option chain .

ITM vs OTM: Which Options to Buy?

38:03Now , I need to work around in-the-money

38:05in the option chain . It doesn't

38:07make sense to go too in-the-money . It

38:09doesn't make sense to go too

38:10out-of-the-money . First , OTM means

38:13out-of-the-market . In my opinion , OTM

38:15means you've been thrown out by the

38:17market . You shouldn't use OTM for

38:18option buying . OTM is meant for option

38:20sellers , those who want to eat premiums

38:22and take advantage of theta decay . We

38:25should only work in ITM . According to

38:28me , ITM also has three levels : near ITM

38:32, far ITM , and deep ITM . We shouldn't

38:36go too deep , nor too far . We need to

38:37work near ITM . For example , if the call

38:39option is trading at 394 , we'll need to

38:41look at 392 , 390 , 387 , 385. You can

38:43easily select these particular strike

38:44prices here . I'm going to show you a

38:52method that's a big source of confusion

38:55for traders : should we choose the 390

38:57strike price or 385 , 387 or 392 ? There

38:59are conditions for that too , sir . The

39:01algorithm will do the work for us .

39:02We'll apply two sets of conditions to

39:05determine which is the optimal ITM for

39:07us . And if two ITMs are listed in the

39:10algorithm , which one should we choose ?

39:12You'll find a discussion on that in

39:13this video . Okay .

39:14First , regarding liquidity , you've

39:16raised a very good point . Sir , if I

Liquidity Rules Every Options Trader Must Know

39:18were to buy an overnight option in a

39:20stock that's experiencing a liquidity

39:21crunch . I could

39:23take it overnight and leave . I'd see a

39:25profit in the morning , but I wouldn't

39:26be able to book it .

39:27So , what should I do in that case ? I

39:29need to look around the option chain .

39:32I'm looking around the option chain .

39:33The OI chain is quite decent . It

39:35doesn't

39:36have any particularly bad OI data . As

39:38an example , what is considered poor OI

39:40data ? Now , let me show you an example .

39:42What is considered poor OI data , or

39:44what is considered an illiquid stock ? I

39:47want to share that example with our

39:49traders . Here , you see Redgo Kaithan

39:52down 3.89 % . I'll delve into its option

39:55chain . Now you'll clearly see the

39:56difference and what the problem is with

39:58its option chain .

40:00This is an example of an illiquid stock

40:03.

40:04Again , illiquid doesn't mean that

40:05buying or selling can't happen . Trading

40:08is happening in the market , so buying

40:10and selling is allowed , but what do you

40:12call it ?

40:13Your costs will be very high . The price

40:14you're buying at won't sell at the

40:16price you want .

40:17In that case , the spread will become so

40:19high that you won't be able to buy or

40:20sell at your desired price .

40:23As an option seller , I once faced this

40:24problem . I sold an option , a put option

40:27. The market was crashing , and I wanted

40:30to exit , but I couldn't . As an option

40:32seller , this problem becomes much

40:33bigger . As an option buyer , your loss

40:35is limited , but as an option seller ,

40:36your loss is even greater . Since then ,

40:39I've stopped working in illiquid

40:40products . If I make a product that

40:42could become illiquid , I'll never do it

40:44. I'll trade it in the cash market and

40:46walk away .

40:46Okay . So what happened in that case ?

40:48I was bankrupt .

40:50Okay . All

40:50my money and capital was gone at that

40:52time . That was a very big lesson for me

40:56. I mean , it was around 2010.

40:59Okay . I

41:01hope it happens with someone else or

41:02not .

41:02Yes . I always make sure to trade only

41:05those options where the word you used ,

41:08" bud spread , " should be very small . For

41:10this , I go to Dhan's OTT web and check

41:12it . If the bud and today's spread are 1

41:15% or 2 % apart , it's fine . But if they are

41:17too far apart , for example , a buyer is

41:19₹ 30 and a seller is ₹ 35 , then I

41:21generally avoid such products .

41:23Okay , great . So , sir , like I gave you

41:26the example of Radico , we have to

41:28ignore such stocks . Take a look at the

41:31eleven industries , brother . JL is one

41:33of the BS , it's highly demanded . In

41:36fact , this is a feature that allows

41:40lending for shares .

41:42SLBM is a feature that allows me to see

41:45which shares are in highest demand

41:48every day on the Dhan platform .

41:51Correct , correct , correct ,

41:52because those shares are performing so

41:53well intraday . The interest due to SLBM

41:56is so low , or the rent is so low , that

41:59the profit itself is taking away all

42:02the rent .

42:03So this is also a good feature .

42:04A product is available on the Dhan

42:07platform where you can rent out your

42:09shares through SLBM . If you see a stock

42:12in short sale , as you showed here , you

42:14can buy it . If I see it in short sale

42:16and I don't own it , I can buy it and

42:18short sell it in the market .

42:20Very interesting . So , here , sir , let me

42:23tell you about the strike price . If I

42:25look at the strike price , again , this

42:28entire platform will have an indicator

42:31within it . So , I'm going to add two

42:33indicators here . Just to double-check

42:36that the premium for the stock option

42:39I'm considering is behaving similarly .

42:42Now , here's the real catch . Near

42:46expiration time , all stock options have

42:48a monthly expiry ; all NSC stock options

42:50have a monthly expiry . The stock option

42:53is running . The 2 % -3 % premium isn't

42:55moving at all .

42:57Yes .

42:58How is this possible ? The premium isn't

43:00moving .

43:00Why is this happening ? There

43:02could be three or four reasons . First ,

43:03it's near expiry . The

43:05impact of theta-decay is so high

43:07that delta-decay isn't reacting at all .

43:08Delta-decay isn't

43:09reacting at all . Option sellers are

43:11busy melting it completely . The second

43:14biggest reason I think this is that

43:17there is buying in the stock , but there

43:20is no buying and selling in its futures

43:22or options . Is there a difference in

43:25this too ? Yes . Tell me one thing : the

43:28OI data we can see here ,

Common BTST Mistakes to Avoid

43:32for example , is the OI change here .

43:34There is also the OI change here . There

43:36is volume here .

43:38My question is , is this the OI change

43:40within this stock ? There is the

43:42OI change in the options .

43:44This is the OI change in the options .

43:45So , what does OI change tell us ? For

43:48simplicity , let's say it indicates

43:50demand and supply .

43:52So , demand and supply in options is a

43:54different thing .

43:56Compare to the spot mark and

43:57compare to the stock , which has demand

44:00and supply . It could be institutional .

44:03Many times you may have seen NIFI being

44:06sold on the spot , but futures being

44:08bought .

44:09This is a very relevant example . It's

44:11understandable at the institutional

44:12level . Retail traders don't have that

44:14much money . They're preoccupied with

44:16saving money , so they can't delve into

44:18it even a little deeper . But I'm

44:20telling you this . My experience tells

44:21me , Sir , that the demand-supply

44:23relationship for Exide Industries is a

44:24different thing . The demand-supply

44:26relationship for its options is a

44:28different thing . So , I've told you two

44:30major reasons . First , it's important to

44:32check if the expiration is near . What

44:34should you do in that case , sir ? Jump

44:36to the next expiration . You'll get

44:38better liquidity as an option buyer .

44:41Second , you should also consider

44:43whether there's demand for that

44:44particular option or just for the stock

44:46. The stock has run up , but the stock

44:49option hasn't . So , these two things

44:51sometimes lead to a third element :

44:53manipulation . This is called

44:55manipulation : there's no demand for

44:57options . There's demand for futures ,

44:59and there's demand for stocks . What

45:00happens sometimes ? The option is also

45:02rising , and the stock price remains

45:05unchanged .

45:07Where does manipulation come into play

45:08in this case ? The option price rises

45:10slightly . When it seems it's reached

45:13optimal value , a big player starts

45:15shorting it . I'm sure our audience will

45:18be interested in this , and if they

45:20comment , we'll definitely post more

45:22in-depth videos about it .

45:24What will we do for now ? Go to

45:26indicators and apply Super Trend here .

45:29Okay ?

45:30I applied Super Trend here . Mind you ,

45:33sir , when I'm explaining this , I'm

45:36looking for the stock's condition :

45:39whether my particular FAO stock is

45:42filling in any BTST category or not . I

45:46want to see that exactly at 255. This

45:49means my race , my hard work , will start

45:52at 255. But it's recommended that if

45:56I'm ticking any stock options , I take

45:59them to around 3:15 or 320. Any buys

46:02are made at 3:20 .

46:04From 255 to 320 , you're tracking the

46:06market . You've started looking for

46:09stocks that meet the shortlisting

46:11criteria .

46:13Okay , okay .

46:13Now , regarding stock options , I'll

46:15check what's happening at 3:20 . So ,

46:18here I'm going to apply two indicators :

46:20a Super Trend and a very good custom

46:22indicator , available on the Dhan

46:24platform . It's called the Hull Moving

46:26Average , or also known as the Hull Suit

46:29. I want to demonstrate it once on this

46:32particular chart . This indicator is

46:35called the Hull Suit . We'll come here ,

46:37and since we're talking about call

46:39options , we'll go to the options chain .

46:42I'll take a particular stock option

46:45here , approximately 390. I'll activate

46:48two indicators here : Super Trend and

46:55Hal's Suit . These specialized

46:57indicators are available on Dhan's

46:59platform . You can check them out .

47:01There's one small setting you should

47:03change . The length should be 32. This

47:06is again backtesting , which we've done

47:08using permutation combinations . So , 32

47:12seems to be an ideal scenario , and I'm

47:13quite interested in the band below 32.

47:15You can remove the band or add it ;

47:17that's not a big deal . But this is

47:19overall sentiment , and here I'm going

47:22to look again at the 5 - minute time

47:24frame .

47:25Okay . Now ,

47:26we'll do everything on the 5 - minute

47:27time frame .

47:27Absolutely . Now I want to see if the

47:30XID India FNO stock options have ticked

47:33. So , if

47:36I go to the 390 call option , I see that

47:39the closing here , exactly at 3:20 , is

47:42around this point . Basically , the

47:44closing is above the Super Trend and HL

47:47level . Right .

47:48Yes , that's a tick again . And we should

47:52consider this as a call option , the

47:54Exide Industries June 30th 390 call

47:57option . We should carry it in one lot

48:00and go overnight .

48:01So , everything is rule-based . There's

48:03no arbitrary situation .

48:05Everything is rule-based . Here , our

48:08conditions are satisfied . Before we do

48:11some more backtesting , there are a few

48:13rules I'd like to explain . Yes ,

Entry, Stop Loss & Position Sizing Rules

48:15sir , if you'd like to test me , I'd be

48:17willing to take that test . I'll discuss

48:20with my viewers what we've discussed ,

48:22and if I'm wrong , please correct me .

48:24Okay ?

48:25So , first , we'll go to 255 to see our

48:28top gainers . We'll pull up a list of

48:30FAO stocks . We'll look at the top

48:31gainers and top losers . There's a

48:33slight bias in terms of my broader

48:35market sentiment . If Donald Trump is

48:37talking a lot , I'll turn slightly

48:39bearish . If he's sitting quietly , I'll

48:41turn bullish . For that matter , if

48:43there's any news that leads you to

48:45bearish or bullish sentiment , I'll pull

48:47up a list of such stocks at 255. Now ,

48:49whichever stock comes in front of me ,

48:51for example , XID or SGI , any other . Now

48:54, within that stock , I'll check whether

48:58it's closing above yesterday's high .

49:02I'm talking about 255. Apart from this ,

49:04if it closes above yesterday's high

49:07using the CPR indicator , then it's good

49:09to go between 50 and 75

49:12for bulls

49:14and below 50 and 25 for bears , meaning

49:16the put option will be

49:18bearish at approximately 25 to 45. So ,

49:22if this condition is met , the stock's

49:23condition is met . I'll then return to

49:26the options chart by 3:20 . I'll use

49:28Power Scalper and then apply the Hal

49:31Suite . The Hal Suite parameter will be

49:3432. Using the Super Trend default

49:36parameter of 103 , I'll check whether

49:38the candle forming at 320 in my 5 -

49:41minute time frame is closing above it .

49:43If it is , I'll take a call . If a put

49:45scenario is forming , it will close

49:47below it , so I'll take a put here . Am I

49:49right in saying this , sir ?

49:50Absolutely .

49:50Now , I have a question : where do I book

49:53a stop-loss and where do I book a

49:55target ?

49:56This is the biggest catch , and this is

49:58the most problematic thing about BTST .

50:00I wrote you a statement called "

50:03Statement Problem . " Yes , that's the

50:06problem , sir .

50:07Okay , stop-loss

50:08is the problem . I

50:09mean , stop-loss is the problem once ,

50:11sir . I want you to read it once . Please

50:13don't show it on the screen , but once

50:15you read it and show it ,

50:17it says , BTST trading is 10 times

50:19easier . I understood this from your

50:21language , from your explanation , and it

50:23gives two to three times more returns

50:25than intraday . Okay , but it has one

50:28problem , and my question about our

50:30problem is that there is no SL , it's

50:33not defined , it doesn't exist at all ,

50:35or it's a velocity . What is the problem

50:38with SL ? The

50:38problem is , regardless of your broker's

50:42position , you can set a stop-loss .

50:47Technically , a stop-loss will be

50:48applied . But if that stop-loss

50:51jumps , it will . It can jump . It can

50:53jump . For example , I'm talking about

50:54Exide India . That's what I'm trying to

50:57tell you . Sir , this is the biggest

50:59problem with BTST . SL is not

51:03price-based . It's time-based .

51:07Okay , okay , I got it . I got it .

51:09What will be the conditions in

51:11tomorrow's market at 9:15 ? I have to

51:13give a reaction to that . So , between

51:179:15 and 9:18 , the time we mentioned .

51:19During this period , we have to exit

51:21this product using our discretion and

51:23wisdom . Whether it's in profit , loss ,

51:25or at cost . There's only one short

51:28coming . The rest of the rules I've

51:30mentioned , you should backtest them and

51:32forward test them . Your eyes will light

51:33up . Because when BTST starts to become

51:35a hit , confidence begins to build . And

51:38big traders have said , " One trade per

51:39day . " " You should keep doing one trade

51:42per day , you're a successful trader , "

51:44Japanese traders , Singapore traders ,

51:46all these British traders say , " Sir ,

51:48one trade per day , over your day . "

51:51Invest your mindset , invest your time

51:53in the gym , invest your time in running

51:55, invest your time in other activities :

51:57music , art . Build your own business .

52:00Find another job . The logic of " One

52:02Trade Per Day " is that you take a BTST

52:04trade and book it the next morning ,

52:05between 9:15 and 9:20 , 9:18 , whatever

52:07time seems right .

52:09But you have to exit before that . You

52:11have to do it .

52:11Now , sir , what will happen here ? I'll

52:13leave here , as an example , saying , " I'm

52:15picking a trade at 19 : 2 . " My target is

52:19now ₹ 22 and stop loss is ₹ 17.8 .

52:22For example , this is going to be my 12 :

52:252 risk-reward ratio . This translates to

52:28almost exactly a 1 : 2 risk-reward ratio

52:29. What's the problem ? You've placed an

52:33SL in your system , and in your mind .

52:36But it's already open . What will you do

52:39now ? I'm describing the worst-case

52:40scenario . Because I want to tell all

52:42our viewers , I want to tell you

52:44practical things . The best-case

52:46scenario could be that this ₹ 19

52:48premium opens at ₹ 29 .

52:50Everyone knows what to do about that .

52:51Book . Don't just sit there and dream .

52:56M2M is nothing but booked profits , and

52:58until you see a profit booked in your

53:00demat account , you don't call it profit

53:02. Until it's booked , it's not a profit .

53:05Similarly , if it's opening here or here

53:07, what should I do ? If it's opening

53:09here , sir , it's best . Book a profit .

53:11Even if it's opening here , sir , it's

53:12still the best thing . Book a loss .

53:16This is both a good thing and a bad

53:17thing . You can interpret it in any way .

53:20This is a problem with index options .

53:22This is a problem with stock options .

53:24You take a Nifty call in an index . If

53:27the market opens against you , your stop

53:29loss will jump . Sir , the broker doesn't

53:30know . And even if

53:33the broker says , " Yes , you have a stop

53:34loss here , " he'll say , " Sir , how do I

53:35liquidate it ? No , no , no , that price

53:36hasn't even come in , how can I exit ? "

Managing Overnight Risk in BTST

53:41And you'll say , " No , sir , I'm sitting

53:43here ; the broker should liquidate me . "

53:45No , that's not the case . It's possible ,

53:47sir , that it could close at zero . Let's

53:49say it's a monthly expiry , and we're

53:51taking the worst-case scenario : it

53:53closes at zero , then your position will

53:54automatically execute . But our loss is

53:57defined because you're buying an option

53:58, so the loss is defined . You won't

54:00lose more than the capital you've

54:01invested , but the profit can be

54:03unlimited .

54:03In this , sir , you're in the mindset of

54:071 : 2 , 1 : 3 , 1 : 5 , 1:10 . But if there's

54:11a stop-loss , then it can go beyond the

54:14risk of one .

54:16For example , the loss can now be a

54:17factor . Now , you say , " Sir , I'm keeping

54:19a stop-loss of 8 % . " No , sir , the

54:21stop-loss can even go to 21 % . You never

54:25know what's going to take place

54:27tomorrow . That's why I want to share

54:29this with all the viewers . Keep an eye

54:31on the news . What news is coming from

54:36the stocks ? AGM meetings are taking

54:38place . Their quarterly reports are

54:39coming . And after watching all this , I

54:42request you with folded hands to ignore

54:45the stocks about which news is coming .

54:48Well , because news is a time when 90 % of

54:52traders understand that buying is the

54:56time . Positive news in a stock triggers

54:59buying . And for the remaining 10 % , once

55:03there's good news in the market , that

55:07means it's time for that stock to top

55:10out .

55:12So , the big players don't buy on good

55:15news .

55:16They book profits and exit .

55:18They sell . 90 % are thinking they should

55:20buy on good news . That's the point ,

55:22right ? Then why are 90 % losing money ?

55:25They're thinking they should buy on

55:26good news . In reality , the big players

55:28are sitting there selling . This is a

55:30prime example : ( BS ) had good news . We

55:34started buying , and from there , there

55:37was buying for four days , and then

55:40nonstop selling for the next four weeks

55:43. Why ? I just received a huge order ,

55:45I'm giving you an example , sir . Again ,

55:47if the BSE isn't at target , or a stock

55:49isn't at target , this happens .

55:51Similarly , if there's negative news ,

55:53the stock will try to bottom out , not

55:55top out ; selling doesn't start there ,

55:57buying starts there . We are the last

56:00recipients of the news . The news isn't

56:02going anywhere after us . It's over

56:03after that .

56:04Exactly . And we think the quarterly

56:06results are good , so it will go up . You

56:09can backtest this . Out of 10 , only two

56:11go up . The remaining eight fall ,

56:14despite good news . There are exceptions

56:15. Obviously , Reliance and Adani are

56:17exceptions . Or some stocks are

56:19exceptions , but not those in the

56:22limelight . Sir , despite positive

56:25results , they don't go up . They relax

56:28from there . So , it would be better if

56:30we don't correlate the impact of BTST

56:33with the news . Therefore , in the logic

56:36that I told you , the algorithm , news

56:38has no role . News

56:39only follows the conditions .

56:41Follow the conditions , but yes , sir ,

56:42news has a role . Not to select , but to

56:45eliminate . If there is

56:46news about Exide Industries , I better

56:49ignore it .

56:50Okay .

56:50If there is news about Cummins India , I

56:53better ignore it . Even if it satisfies

56:55both our conditions . Sir , what if there

56:58is news but I did not find it .

57:00Sir , in this case , you will have to

57:01keep a 360 ° view . According to me ,

57:04you should keep a 360 ° view . A

57:06definitely the same thing happened , sir

57:09. I clicked on percentage change in FNO

57:12stocks . 4.68 % in ONGC , it was in

57:15negative . I didn't know .

57:18No , no , that's not it . That's what

57:20I'm telling you , sir . If you're an

57:21Indian trader , you should know how to

57:23handle the impact of news , or know what

57:25the news is going to do .

57:27So , here I'll tell my viewers that when

57:30you go to the scan terminal here

57:32through Dhan Charts , all the news is

57:35updated live , and the AI automatically

57:38extracts and analyzes it . Apart from

57:41this , if you add any stock to your

57:43watchlist , you'll only see news from

57:46that watchlist if you wish . Here , when

57:49you go to My Stocks , you'll see

57:51portfolio news and watchlist news . Once

57:53you select the watchlist , news from all

57:55the stocks on the watchlist will appear

57:56. As Gul Sir mentioned , if you're

57:58tracking ONGC , simply add it to your

58:00watchlist . Any news surrounding it will

58:03start appearing here . So this way ,

58:05you'll be able to answer my question :

58:07it's not likely that news about a stock

58:09will arrive and you won't find it . Sir ,

58:11Google , I have a question . For example ,

58:13some of our traders may not trade

58:16options . They may be afraid of buying

58:19options , which is very natural ; it

Live BTST Strategy Walkthrough

58:20could happen to anyone . So , should they

58:22do it through MTFs because our main

58:24objective is to increase ROI ? Let's say

58:27I'm talking about Exide Industries .

58:30Here's my chart for Exide Industries ,

58:31and for example , I don't want to trade

58:33options . Should I buy it on MTFs until

58:36tomorrow and leave ? Does this make

58:38sense ?

58:39Sir , there's a great feature for that .

58:41It's called MTF .

58:43You can take leverage . And yes , it's a

58:46great feature for intraday trading of a

58:49stock . If someone wants to ignore BTST ,

58:51because they're afraid of options or

58:53have a phobia about options , then yes ,

58:55MTF is a very extraordinary feature

58:57that I personally use a lot . Sometimes ,

58:59there's strong demand for certain

59:01stocks , and capital is tight . MTF is a

59:04feature you can take advantage of .

59:06I personally find it quite useful .

59:08So , sir , you can . The

59:09main thing is that my ROI should

59:11increase and we're catching momentum .

59:12So , using MTF , I'll catch momentum and

59:14purchase the stock . Sir , I had a few

59:17pointers , and I just want to summarize

59:20one last one . There are four things we

59:23should ignore in such a BTST strategy .

59:26First , sir , if big wicks are forming

59:28within the candles , everyone must have

59:30read about price action . If the full

59:32body length isn't forming , and the wick

59:33is falling below the forming level ,

59:35then this could be part of some

59:36manipulation . We have to stay away from

59:38this . Secondly , Sir , an overbought RSI

59:40( oversold RSI ) is definitely something

59:42we shouldn't touch at all , because it

59:44could open against our view again the

59:46next day . That

59:47means , absolutely around 75 and below ,

59:50around 2530.

59:51Got it .

59:52Your experience tells you about low

59:54liquidity , Sir . Never underestimate low

59:56liquidity options , no matter how strong

59:58the momentum you see . Even there , if we

1:00:00take the MTF case to the cash market ,

1:00:01there won't be any problems . There

1:00:02won't be

1:00:03any problems .

1:00:03Liquidity will remain in the cash

1:00:05market , even within FAO stocks . That's

1:00:06what

1:00:07I was trying to convey . Liquidity

1:00:08within FAO stocks is a different thing ,

1:00:09and liquidity within options is a

1:00:11different thing .

1:00:12So , finding the options chain on the

1:00:14options chart is crucial for our BTST

1:00:16strategy . An overview of the option

1:00:18chain is visible to see if there are

1:00:19any zeros or zeros . If you see too many

1:00:22zeros somewhere , please ignore them .

1:00:24And again , as I said , there are many

1:00:26sudden spikes . So , when you start

1:00:28tracking the news , you'll know who to

1:00:30stay away from and who to approach .

1:00:32And if I were to talk about risk-reward

1:00:37, in BTST , as I mentioned , there's a

1:00:41maximum one lot limit , and the limit is

1:00:45millions . Many big traders are trading

1:00:49in 10s for a day . They're earning 10s

1:00:51and losing 10s . I've seen them do it

1:00:53too . Let's take BTST in one lot .

1:00:55Okay . Only if you

1:00:56risk 1 to 2 % will you enjoy it . Passive

1:01:00income is the only way to enjoy it . And

1:01:01you never know that passive income will

1:01:03become your active income . But

1:01:04consistency is crucial . There's no

1:01:06problem with setting two overnight

1:01:08targets and 10 stop-losses , meaning

1:01:10there's no sense in it . And position

1:01:12sizing is a huge problem here . The

1:01:14logic behind position sizing is to

1:01:17invest and deploy only 1 % to 2 % of your

1:01:19capital so you can enjoy BTST carefree .

1:01:23This shouldn't happen : 9:15 AM is a bad

1:01:25day , and

1:01:26we can't reset it until 3:00 PM . We

1:01:29need to focus on ITM options . We need

1:01:31to be wary of OTM ATMs .

1:01:32Sir , I had two questions , which I think

1:01:34you've already answered . One of my

1:01:36questions was , how do you differentiate

1:01:38between genuine momentum and

1:01:39operator-driven moves ? By mentioning

1:01:41wick , I think that's brought clarity .

1:01:43You'll understand your point . Well , one

1:01:45second , I have a follow-up question

1:01:47here . When you're talking about wick ,

1:01:49are you referring to wick in the cash

1:01:50market or are you referring to wick in

1:01:52the option chart you viewed through the

1:01:53hold ?

1:01:54No , sir , I'm talking about the spot

1:01:56chart . Okay . In the spot chart , we need

1:01:59candles with short , short , and long

1:02:01bodies .

1:02:01If I want to see manipulation on the

1:02:03premium chart , I should check whether

1:02:07the call option is rising at the same

1:02:09rate as my stock's rise . Only

1:02:12then will I know if it's genuine or not

1:02:13.

1:02:13Absolutely . Do you know what happens

1:02:15sometimes ? The call option is rising ,

1:02:16and the put option is rising . What kind

1:02:18of logic is this ?

1:02:19But this only happens for 10-15 minutes

1:02:21.

1:02:21Because demand is being generated

1:02:23somewhere . Fake demand . Now , whether

1:02:25it's on the call side or the put side ,

1:02:26no one knows . We only know what's

1:02:27happening 45 minutes after the 15

1:02:29minutes are over .

1:02:30So , sometimes fake demand is being

1:02:32created for call options and put

1:02:34options , so that they can be sold off

1:02:36at a certain level . What happens

1:02:39because of this fake demand ? Retail

1:02:40traders like you and me , who genuinely

1:02:42go to the market to make money ,

1:02:43sometimes fall into a trap .

1:02:45They think , " There's nothing better

1:02:46than this . Buy both a call and a put . "

1:02:48So , if you want to see the fakeness in

1:02:50the premium , check whether the stock's

1:02:52chart is rising or not . And as you said

1:02:54, Sir , to determine if there's a real ,

1:02:56genuine , or fake move in a stock , we

1:02:58should track the VIX . We should stay

1:03:01away from big news . And Sir , one more

1:03:03thing I need to do is fix the point .

1:03:04The next day's exit plan should be

1:03:07defined before the target . Everyone

1:03:09knows the exit plan for the target . The

1:03:10exit plan for a loss should be defined .

1:03:12What's going to happen ? I have to cut

1:03:14at 9:15 . I have to cut at 9:18 . In the

Psychology, Discipline & Consistency

1:03:16pre-open market , we get to know what's

1:03:18going to happen to my stock .

1:03:20I have to be mentally prepared for that

1:03:21. I have taken a premium of ₹ 1 , not

1:03:24in false hope . A stop loss of ₹ 16

1:03:26opened at ₹ 14 . Now I'm sitting in

1:03:28false hope . No , it will come at ₹ 16 .

1:03:29No , it will come at ₹ 16 .

1:03:31Hope is not a strategy .

1:03:32SL is again , I'm telling you , sir . SL

1:03:34is again time-based .

1:03:36If we follow the time , time is the

1:03:38master here .

1:03:39So , we have to exit the position before

1:03:419:18 or 9:20 , whichever time we have

1:03:43decided .

1:03:45So , if I'm starting the analysis at ₹

1:03:47255 , I'm taking my trade at ₹ 320 .

1:03:50I'm exiting at ₹ 91 or 9:20 . One last

1:03:53question : where can my trader go wrong

1:03:55in this ? 90 % of the time , you can't go

1:03:59wrong because everything is rule-based ,

1:04:01but where can it go wrong ? Sir , in this

1:04:05particular scope of mindset , psychology

1:04:08, false hope , I was told to stay away

1:04:11from news , but I followed the news and

1:04:14picked that stock

1:04:17and the stock opened against me ,

1:04:20but I thought it would come ,

1:04:23but I thought it would not do this , it

1:04:25would not do that , so then

1:04:27this , Sir , this psychology , this 10 % ,

1:04:29as you say , Sir , again we are human

1:04:32minds , we are emotional as well , we are

1:04:35logical as well . So if we focus more on

1:04:37the logical aspect , then in my opinion ,

1:04:40there is no problem with the exit plan

1:04:42and the entry plan . The main problem is

1:04:45with the exit plan , and the problem

1:04:48with entry can arise when you are

1:04:50following the news or asking for a

1:04:52stock which is not in your area .

1:04:54You are doing it after seeing someone

1:04:56else .

1:04:56I saw the stock on TV and then all the

1:04:58conditions are being met .

1:05:00Secondly , I did not work hard today .

1:05:02Today I saw it with my own eyes . What

1:05:04happens sometimes ? We're saying apply

1:05:06RSI . We're saying apply CPR . You say no

1:05:09, there are the top three top gainers .

1:05:11Take any of their call options .

1:05:12Sometimes we're in a hurry . Don't start

1:05:15the process at 255.

1:05:17Don't start the process at 255. Start

1:05:20the process at 3:10 ,

1:05:21sir . That even 1 minute of market

1:05:24research will pay you a lot . You're

1:05:27wasting 15 minutes here . It

1:05:30could go wrong , sir . If you deviate

1:05:31from your habits , it could go wrong . So

1:05:33, if we're working on our rules , there

1:05:35will be a decent risk-reward ratio .

1:05:37There will be a decent win rate . No

1:05:39strategy has a 100 % success rate . But

1:05:42with a decent win rate , you can make

1:05:44money here . This is what you want to

1:05:45say . One last question , genuinely , just

1:05:47one last question . One bad trade and

1:05:49one good trade of years . And what

1:05:51lessons did it teach you ?

1:05:53Sir ,

1:05:54you can say good trades . Good trades ,

1:05:56sir , and bad trades come from the same

1:05:58experience . I mean , this is a genuine

1:06:01story . I took a trade on a BTST , and I

1:06:04was busy with some engagement . I forgot

1:06:07about that trade . So when I looked ,

1:06:11that premium of about ₹ 6 should have

1:06:14technically booked at 890. BTST was

1:06:17going in our favor . Technically , it

1:06:20should have been booked at 890. It

1:06:22booked , I think approximately around

1:06:25200 ; so that's a good thing . Now that

1:06:28₹ 60 premium has gone down to 200. It

1:06:30was fun ! I've once again left feeling

1:06:34so carefree . The market opened in our

1:06:37favor , with a premium of ₹ 90 , and it

1:06:39opened at ₹ 110 . We said , " Let's book

1:06:41it . " That 90 premium was reduced to ₹

1:06:4320 , and expiry was near . I'll

1:06:50call it a mistake , sir . Even if it

1:06:51turns out to be profitable , it's still

1:06:53a mistake . Even if the result is good ,

1:06:55it doesn't mean it's not a mistake .

1:06:58Deviating from the rule is essential .

1:07:01If I've selected a time to close my

1:07:04position , I should stick to it .

1:07:07If I'm in intraday , all my positions

1:07:09are bound to be closed before 3:00 PM .

1:07:11I've never taken any 3:00 PM move . I'm

1:07:13telling you , I don't take the 3:00 PM

1:07:15move at all . Because that starts

1:07:17planning for the next day . Why should I

1:07:19do it today after that ? My logic tells

1:07:21me we'll discuss it tomorrow , after

1:07:235:15 PM . So , I have to exit all my

1:07:25intraday positions before 3:00 PM . The

1:07:27same applies to BTST . If I have to exit

1:07:30everything at 9:20 AM , no matter where

1:07:33I am .

1:07:34So , you should set up a trailing SL .

1:07:37Set up a manual SL . Put some system in

1:07:40place . If you're not on a system ,

1:07:41delegate it to someone . Tell a friend .

1:07:45Tell a fellow colleague , tell a

1:07:46colleague , " Brother , there's a

1:07:47super order on Dhan . " You can

1:07:48automatically place both a stop-loss

1:07:50target and a trailing stop-loss .

1:07:52So , I don't think that will be a

1:07:54problem for our viewers . But we've

1:07:56learned a lot from your experience of

1:07:59both good and bad trades . I genuinely

1:08:01liked your point that even if you make

1:08:03a profit , that doesn't mean it wasn't a

1:08:05mistake . I made a profit on my mistake .

1:08:07And this is rather a mistake because it

1:08:09gives you overconfidence that you're

1:08:11making money by making mistakes . So

1:08:13that's a very important lesson to learn

1:08:14. Thank you so much , Gokul Sir . You

1:08:16discussed your strategy very honestly ,

1:08:18explaining both its pros and cons .

1:08:21Rather , as soon as you started your

1:08:22statement , you mentioned that it has

1:08:24one problem and explained how to

1:08:26overcome that problem to some extent .

1:08:28You can't do it completely . That's a

Final BTST Framework & Key Takeaways

1:08:30market limitation . So , thank you so

1:08:32much , Google Sir . I'm sure our viewers ,

1:08:34our users , will test your strategy , use

1:08:37it , and tweet it if they need to . If

1:08:39someone trades options , they will use

1:08:41it . And if someone doesn't trade
