0:16always talked about Marvel and DC there
0:18. And now we can finally do that again ,
0:21just here on Filmflash or on
0:22Serienflash , because yes , the hype is
0:24kind of back now . Most recently
0:27Spider-Man Brand New Day and now of
0:28course Avengers Doomsday and everything
0:30that comes after that with X-Men or
0:32even Ghost Rider and Black Panther 3 .
0:35It at least feels like there's a surge
0:38of hype among Marvel fans again , even
0:41if we'll get rather little content in
0:442027 . But yes , Avengers : Doomsday is
0:47coming up , and at D23 we were shown the
0:49teaser which was also posted online ,
0:51having previously been shown at San
0:53Diego Comic-Con 2026 . A teaser that
0:56doesn't just confirm that we're really
0:59getting a Doom with two costumes , but
1:02also a Doom that has brown eyes at
1:04times and green eyes at others . And
1:08that is exactly what has led many in
1:11the bubble to believe that Robert
1:14Downey Jr. is not the only Dr. Doom
1:17we'll see in the upcoming Avengers
1:20Doomsday . Some are now firmly convinced
1:24that Cillian Murphy is in Doomsday as
1:27Dr. Doom . But where does this
1:29speculation come from ? Well , basically
1:32it stems from the fact that Cillian
1:34Murphy was long considered a top
1:36candidate by many fans for Victor Von
1:39Doom in Avengers Doomsday or in the
1:41future of the Fantastic Four . So ,
1:44before Avengers : Doomsday was announced
1:46, we knew Fantastic Four was coming ,
1:49and many assumed we would surely see a
1:51Dr. Doom in it . And yes , fancasting
1:54heated up and Cillian Murphy was the
1:56top candidate for many . And since
1:59Robert Downey Jr. is the guy with the
2:01brown eyes , some are now saying : Maybe
2:03Cillian Murphy is the one with the
2:05green ones . Except Cillian Murphy
2:07doesn't even have green eyes , they're
2:09light blue , ice blue , blue-gray .
2:12That’s the direction Cillian
2:13Murphy’s eyes lean in . But regardless
2:16, I thought , let's talk about it . Could
2:19it be that Cillian Murphy is playing
2:21Dr. Doom here and could it be that even

4:12whether two Victor Von Dooms might

4:28on the floor and that suggests he uses

4:35magic ? Exactly , her magic color is
4:38reflected in her eyes as well . And that
4:41would then potentially happen with a
4:43Victor too , right ? He has green magic ,
4:46so his eyes turn green . It is that

4:51speculate way too much into things . We
4:53just want so much more than what Marvel
4:56usually gives us . That’s

5:02why that might be the reason for many ,

5:08Doom normally has brown eyes , but when
5:11he uses magic , they turn green . Or
5:14there is a moment in the film from
5:16which point on he always has green eyes
5:19. Perhaps also the point when he
5:22suddenly wears a different costume . But
5:24more on that in a moment . Let’s look
5:29at the eyes again , because some say
5:31what’s under the mask isn't Robert
5:34Downey Jr. because his eye area doesn't
5:37match perfectly and a birthmark is
5:39visible . A birthmark that we have never
5:44seen on Robert Downey Jr. before . And
5:47yes , I just looked at tons of photos of
5:50Robert Downey Jr. on Google and I
5:52didn't spot this birthmark anywhere .
5:56Regarding the eye area itself , I would
5:58say it could definitely be Robert
6:01Downey Jr. Those sunken eyelids , but
6:03still very narrow , which through
6:06effects , post-processing , and lighting
6:08naturally look different than when you
6:11look at Robert Downey Jr. as he is or
6:14in other works with different lighting
6:17and post-processing . But this birthmark
6:21, that is quite specific . I haven't
6:24been able to spot on new pictures that
6:27he suddenly has such a birthmark , but
6:29it could also be that it is normally
6:31well-hidden in his daily life by the
6:33folds of his eyes , so you just can't
6:35see it easily . It is definitely very
6:38noticeable . Maybe that is a scene in
6:41the teaser where his stunt double was
6:43underneath . That could well be ,
6:45although you wouldn't usually do that
6:48for close-ups . But what the close-ups
6:51definitely make clear is that it cannot
6:53be Cillian Murphy , not even with the
6:55green eyes . If you look at Cillian
6:59Murphy’s eyes , you can see that his
7:01eyelids are much larger . They cover
7:05much more of the eye , they are much
7:08rounder and buggier , not meant
7:10negatively , just neutrally . His eye
7:14area simply looks completely different
7:16from the one we see here in the teaser .
7:20So , based on the teaser at least , I
7:22would rule out Cillian Murphy being
7:24under one of the masks . Except , of
7:27course , for the moments where we don't
7:28see the eye area at all , where the head
7:30is tilted ; there , we just don't know .
7:32Yes , well , what we do know is that
7:34there is definitely a second costume ,
7:36which raises the question of why there
7:38are two costumes and why , except for
7:40one scene , we mainly see this costume
7:43here ? Both in the fight with Thor and
7:46when he is just standing around or
7:49looking at the banner with his wife and
7:51child . He is always wearing this one
7:55armor with the two different emblems
7:57holding his cape . But there is this
8:00scene here . where he is wearing the
8:03other costume , which is much slimmer ,
8:06as if that were basically his everyday
8:08attire for his kingdom and the other
8:11were his battle armor . However , he is
8:15in a fight wearing exactly the clothes
8:17that don't look like armor . Because
8:21this scene here , which is currently
8:23being busily discussed on the internet ,
8:26shows us Doom in this costume in a
8:28fight , or rather , how he is thrown out
8:30of a building and performs a superhero

8:37least , until I realized he isn't flying

9:13something else is splintering off him ,
9:14and those aren't glass shards , but
9:16something else entirely . Some people on
9:20the internet claim it's Mjolnir , and
9:21yes , there are one or two moments where
9:23I would say yes , that could fit , but
9:25then it is displayed completely flat ,
9:27which could definitely be a
9:29post-production issue , or perhaps
9:30because AI was actually used . I don't
9:33want to rule that out here . Some things
9:34here really do look like AI , but that
9:35is a different topic . This Dr. Doom ,
9:38who is being thrown out , is being
9:40thrown out of what is likely a
9:42spaceship , because we have already seen
9:44set pics beforehand where we saw this
9:46exact window front from the inside . And
9:49who was standing in there ? Well , The
9:51Thing , for example , or even Grimm .
9:54Grimm wasn't in his transformed state ,
9:56but in his typical suit so he could
9:58later be turned into The Thing on the
10:00computer , but he was standing inside .
10:02He might have been thrown out , or
10:05perhaps Nomad is there too and has been
10:08given Mjolnir by Thor as a test , just
10:12like before , and used it to blast Dr.
10:15Doom out . Maybe it's Dr. Doom's
10:18spaceship and the Avengers surprise him
