5:22chapter 1 from verse 1 to 3

5:25that before Jesus ascended

5:29he appeared to his disciples.

5:33And he spent how many days with them?

5:38Right?

5:39That's what it says.

5:40It says he was seen of them for 40 days.

5:47Now, in those 40 days he was doing

5:49something.

5:50The Bible says he was teaching

5:53and giving commandments.

5:58And the lines along which he was

5:59teaching were things pertaining to the

6:02kingdom of God.

6:08That is, before he left,

6:10he was telling them how the kingdom

6:12works.

6:15Remember before he left,

6:17he mentioned a statement. He said, "I

6:19have yet many things I want to say to

6:21you, but you can't bear them now."

6:25So, I wasn't there, but I suspect that

6:27this was the point where he could now

6:29say some of those things, right? Before

6:31he left.

6:35It is often said that when a person is

6:37about to die,

6:39it's important to listen

6:41to the words and the lessons of that

6:43person. When you go to the aged and they

6:45have maybe 3 months to live or 6 months

6:47to live,

6:49you don't hear them talking about the

6:51latest car they want to buy. Is that

6:52correct?

6:53Yeah, because all of life has become

6:56immaterial, irrelevant.

6:59What's important to them are the things

7:02you should be paying attention to.

7:05Jesus was about to leave this world

7:08after spending over 33 years.

7:12And now he had very important things to

7:13say, much important than us.

7:16They will no longer be able to walk up

7:18to him the way they were walking up to

7:19him and asking him questions.

7:22So, if you were Jesus, I'm sure you know

7:25these 40 days were one of your most

7:28important moments with your disciples.

7:31It would make or mar the Christian

7:33experience for them after you are gone.

7:36Are you Are you following what I'm

7:36saying?

7:42Now, we don't know too much about what

7:45in those 40 days.

7:48But if you read the Acts of Apostles,

8:23the results can be the same

8:25if we follow the same way that they

8:28followed. Are we together to this point?

8:35As I travel the world,

8:39I hear of different reasons why

8:42some territories are harder than others.

8:46Why maybe people don't love God in some

8:47territories and they love God in some

8:49other places.

8:52Christianity is easier in some places.

8:53Have you heard something like that

8:54before?

8:55Have you heard stuff like that before?

8:57Yeah.

8:59There are no hungry people in this

9:00place.

9:01So nobody wants to follow God.

9:04And so on and so forth.

9:06One of the stereotypes where I come from

9:09in Ibadan

9:11is that churches don't grow

9:13in Ibadan.

9:15You're nodding as if you know what I'm

9:16saying.

9:17Okay, please stand up. So it won't be as

9:18if I'm the one who is

9:20I don't know you from anywhere. What's

9:21your name?

9:23You grew up in Ibadan. Aha. So now what

11:21Most times you're looking for real cases

11:23of sickness, of problematic people, you

11:25still have to visit the scriptures cuz

11:27we don't really find really really

11:29terrible people today.

11:33Somebody stood and said, "By my own

11:35power

11:36I have made this great nation."

11:38All this I'm the I'm the one who did it.

11:41They had to give him madness for about 7

11:43years.

11:44That's how serious his pride was. You

11:45think you're proud?

11:49And it took 7 years to correct this

11:51guy's pride.

11:53You've not seen such hard cases.

11:56So, if the power of God could do it

11:58before, there's no reason why it can't

11:59do it now. Are you getting what I'm

12:01saying?

12:04in the equation.

12:12consistently because there are voices in

16:04I have zero problem with it, but I'm not

16:07wired like that.

16:10exposures.

17:19impartation helps you to leverage on the

17:22one who is imparting. Are you getting

17:23what I'm saying? Yeah, you don't have to

17:25start from the scratch all the time.

17:29Are you guys getting what I'm saying so

17:30far? Yeah.

17:32So, I went to meet him and then I was

17:33conscious of that his wiring or maybe we

17:37say sentimental or something like that.

17:39I said, when he said uh

17:41"Do you have oil there?" I said, "Oils,

17:43sir."

17:45So, I opened I opened all the He said,

17:47"No, just one." I said, "Okay, all

17:49right. Because we have we have plenty,

17:51sir."

17:52Oh my God.

17:55Are we together what I'm saying now?

17:57Yeah, there are there are so many sons

17:59you go to you already know their

18:00sentiment.

18:02You already know the way they are wired.

18:03You know how conservative they are.

18:05As a woman, if you're intelligent

18:07spiritually, you know there's a way to

18:08dress or to go to that minister's office

19:02want?"

19:04Is somebody getting what I'm saying?

19:07But, you can come in and stretch your

19:09hand.

19:18unserious. Are you following what I'm

21:57the power of God begins to work on your

22:01now easy.

22:02All right? Power being available in a

22:04church means that giving will be what?

22:07Easy. Easy. Yeah, it takes power to

22:09touch the will of a person to let go of

22:11mammon.

22:13Is somebody hearing what I'm saying?

22:14Yes, sir. It takes power. After you've

22:15worked your hard-earned money, you bring

22:17it and say, "Let the work of God

22:19prosper." It's power. Is somebody saying

22:22getting what I'm saying? Yes, sir.

22:25let's keep going. So, so much power is

22:26available. People were selling lands,

22:28selling houses, bringing it, share it

22:30for others.

22:3310 years inheritance my father gave to

22:35me, you went to go and sell it

22:37and you bring it so that other people

22:38can eat. So, the Bible says nobody

22:40lacked. May the body of Christ become

22:42like this again. Amen. Yes. Nobody

22:45lacked in church. Not a single person

22:48was lacking.

22:49And they laid them at the apostles' feet

22:51and they distributed to each as anyone

22:55had need.

22:57Then the next verse now. 1 2 go.

23:00And Joseph, who was also named Barnabas

23:05by the apostles.

23:09KJV says nicknamed Barnabas.

23:12Which is translated as what? Son of

25:33start calling you encouragement

25:38it means

25:40even the apostles could be discouraged.

25:43Do you believe what I'm saying?

25:45I'm sure that shouldn't be that

25:46shouldn't be difficult to comprehend.

25:48Men of God can be discouraged. Do you

25:49believe what I'm telling you?

25:51Yes, sir. Maybe I should ask the men of

25:52God.

25:53Have you ever been discouraged before,

25:55sir?

25:56So, they have confirmed. Men of God can

25:58be what? Can be discouraged. Oh, I I've

26:01been discouraged many times.

26:03It's part of the attacks every true man

26:05of God is going to face. Satan will

26:07attack your mind with discouragement.

26:09What are you doing with your life?

26:12So, if you're a worker here

26:15one of the signs that you are effective

26:16is that you'll be under this kind of

26:18attack.

26:19Discouragement.

26:22The enemy will try to get you out of

26:24service, out of being committed, out of

26:26continuing.

26:29Because those who are committed are

26:31sources of encouragement to their own

26:33leaders.

26:34Child, did somebody hear what I just

26:35said? Yeah, in this church there will be

26:38persons that God's servants' hearts

26:42continues to remember with joy.

26:44When he's praying, if he wants to

26:46mention 20 names, your name must be

26:47inside.

26:49If he wants to mention three five names

26:51and use them as point of contact for the

26:52rest. Your name is still inside.

26:55If he wants to mention one name

26:57and use that person as a point of

26:58contact. Father, I use this person as a

27:00point of contact for the members.

27:01Your name is still inside. If you're

27:03that person, raise your hand. You're

27:04that person to your pastor. You are sure

27:06you're that person.

27:09Okay, if they want to mention 10 serious

27:11people in your church,

27:13you are sure that your name will be

27:14inside. Raise your hand.

27:19Are you being humble?

27:21If you want to mention 50 people in your

27:23church,

27:36apostles.

27:38So, it means the apostles had reasons to

27:40be discouraged.

27:42What can discourage the apostles?

27:44When they call for meeting and

27:47people don't respond like they should

27:48respond, right?

27:50But this guy will be sitting in front

27:52consistently before the time of the

27:54meeting. He's already there sitting

27:55down.

27:56And as the man of God is ministering,

27:58he's not looking at the person

28:02as if he came for war.

28:04He's excited. He's hungry.

28:08As Apostle Peter is saying, "Jesus

28:10died." He says, "Yes, he died." He's

28:13responding.

28:14I'm I'm giving as many graphic examples

28:16so you can understand what I'm saying.

28:17He's the one who is bringing life and

28:19energy into the meetings.

28:22When the service is over, son of

28:23encouragement is not running out.

28:26Some people as we are sharing the grace,

28:28they are already the Lord Jesus Christ,

28:29the love of God

28:31and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit

28:33be with us now

28:34and forevermore.

28:36Amen. They just want to open the car

28:39and jet out.

28:41Not Barnabas.

28:43Barnabas will sit back, sit with the

28:45first timers.

29:18In about 3 minutes, she has gotten

29:20alert. Jesus! I said, "Don't shout his

29:22name in vain. Don't shout his name in

29:23vain."

36:35And he did that.

36:37And then the church now had a place of

36:39rest. They were no longer jumping from

36:40location to location, from event center

36:42to event center. Is anybody following

36:43what I'm saying? Bringing it to today's

36:45balance.

36:47Joseph was not trying to be friends with

36:48the apostles.

36:50He was just encouraging them.

36:52He would look at them. One of them would

36:54come.

36:55Tracking. And he would he would ask,

36:57"What happened?"

39:16Barnabas is discouraged."

39:25I imagine Apostle Peter say, "You guys

49:33And there are many adversaries. It comes

49:34with it.

49:42The battles I've had to face in the last

49:441 year I'd not faced all my life.

49:49I thought I knew spiritual warfare until

49:50the last 1 year.

49:52I now understand why the back end of

49:53some of those our fathers are like that.

49:55The back end prayer base is like that.

50:02If you want to just do ministry locally,

50:04they don't have problem with you.

50:07Ah, these demons can be very organized.

58:02So, every move of God, right from the

58:04Acts of Apostles to today, this is the

58:05same attack, strife.

58:07Every single move of God that has hit

58:11one of the chief reasons it ended was

58:18So, as leaders, teach your

58:21to stop fighting.

58:23Stop quarreling.

58:32That's the fastest way to kill the

58:34group. Is somebody following what I'm

58:49The meeting will be leaked of it.

1:00:06you can infer.

1:02:04leader's business. That's why I'm

1:02:05stopping and I'm explaining some of

1:02:06these things.

1:02:07In picking leaders, do you see

1:02:09reputation is very important?

1:02:11Did you hear what I just said?

1:02:13And you take time to understand a

1:02:15person's to know a person's reputation,

1:02:16right?

1:02:17So, someone just came last week and you

1:02:19make this a leader.

1:02:22Because you are stranded and you need

1:02:24somebody to fill in the gap.

1:02:27That's how many churches, by the time

1:02:28the church grows, some of those persons

1:02:30become cancers in the system.

1:02:32So, I advise people because every church

1:02:34that starts newly will surely have a

1:02:36problem of

1:02:37not knowing who to trust yet, right?

1:02:40Because they've not been given time to

1:02:41test their conviction, their loyalty.

1:02:45So, one of the advice I got from fathers

1:02:46was that

1:02:47you make people interim. Even till now,

1:02:49we still do things interim.

1:02:52So, leaders are in roles for 1 year, 2

1:02:55years max.

1:02:57So, you have 1 year. If you have

1:02:58anything crazy in your head to display,

1:03:01we watch it for 1 year.

1:03:03After 1 year

1:03:05Is somebody getting what I'm saying?

1:03:12to not talk share too much

1:03:14around that. Well, we've had our issues.

1:03:18Persons who were

1:03:22Sometimes it's not about reputation,

1:03:24just capacity.

1:03:27just doesn't have capacity to deliver.

1:03:34better than this, but this person can't

1:03:35see what you are seeing.

1:03:39assistant.

1:03:40That will be doing the job while the

1:03:42person is just answering the title. Are

1:03:48So, you're not demoting the person. I

1:03:50think RCCG is a master.

1:03:52They are the ogbapatabata of it all

1:03:54in doing this.

1:03:56They promote you into oblivion.

1:06:02seeing problem.

1:06:03Always seeing how it can't work. Not

1:06:06them. They shouldn't be around your

1:06:10leadership. Leaders always see a road

1:06:12where there's no road.

1:06:14Come on. Is somebody getting what I'm

1:06:22signs that you are ahead of people.

1:06:24You're always seeing a way. You're

1:11:04all properties burned to the ground.

1:11:09You now see mighty men. If you remember

1:11:11these guys, they call them mighty men,

1:11:14People who killed giants, Bible says

1:11:16they were all crying.

1:11:18They were weeping.

1:12:38Began to paint pictures again of the

1:12:39stadiums.

1:12:41All the places God said I would enter.

1:12:44Said it doesn't matter how many troops

1:12:45come against me, I will fulfill my

1:12:47cause. Is somebody getting what I'm

1:12:48saying? Began to remind myself

1:12:52for this

1:12:54that I will finish.

1:12:58That's exactly what David did.

1:13:00Strengthened himself

1:13:02in the Lord his God.

1:13:28So, when you encounter those roadblocks

1:13:30as a leader, remember. Tell your

1:13:32neighbor, "Remember."

1:13:35Learn to remember.

1:13:39Remember. God of Abraham, is he God of

1:13:41Isaac, is he God of Jacob?

1:13:44Remember. If he did it for Abraham, he

1:13:46can do it for Isaac.

1:13:48The same God.

1:13:50Jesus Christ, the same yesterday, today,

1:13:54and forever.

1:13:56Just try and remember yesterday and you

1:13:58will have strength for today and

1:13:59tomorrow.

1:17:36is a sensitive matter.

1:17:39Very sensitive. So, to to tell them to

1:17:41share food

1:17:44I'm a twin, so I know how how how they

1:17:47used to measure

1:17:48as they're sharing for me and my twin.

1:17:50It must be exactly the same, or else we

1:17:53can doubt if you love me.
