Grocery Industry Challenges and Solutions
0:00fix that uh welcome everybody again uh
0:03my name is Jonathan uh I'm your host for
0:06today's webinar episode Beyond shelf
0:09buing the next grocery fulfillment
0:11solution and for today's episode again
0:14let me introduce you again to Nicholas
0:17Nicholas welcome to the show thank you
0:19Jan you know all all best things take
0:22two tries exactly exactly so uh Nicholas
0:26please could you tell our audience again
0:28um what is your role at high robotic yes
0:32so my role is grocery vertical sales
0:34manager uh my name is Nikolai I've been
0:37working with the uh Grocery and food
0:39industry for more than a decade now uh
0:42doing automation um more on the
0:45integrator side of things right and you
0:49talking about verticals we have
0:51mentioned other verticals before like
0:533pl in fashion and today we're going to
0:55focus on the grocery vertical so could
0:59you um could you tell us we trying to
1:03change for the next slide um where we're
1:06going to talk about the grocery vertical
1:09could you tell us what's the approach of
1:11py Robotics to the grocery vertical well
1:14indeed we consider grocery to be a very
1:18important sector for high robotics it's
1:21a um a sector where we believe we can we
1:23can build greater many things and so we
1:26have this vertical approach where we put
1:29together uh a team of experts that's
1:32going to work with you um and bring you
1:35the uh grocery specific Solutions you
1:37need so we have experts that will gather
1:40the experience from all around the the
1:42world to deliver um the best of our
1:45solution great let's think about the
1:47industry now and let's begin by
1:50identifying who are the players in in
1:54the grocery
1:55industry right so when we talk about
1:59grocery industry because there's a great
2:02many ways we distribute food around the
2:04world but we more uh specifically
2:07referring to you know large scale uh
2:09grocery distribution it's uh it's a huge
2:13Market uh everyone eats uh around the
2:16world so it's it's a 10 trillion um Euro
2:20Market globally even just in Europe it's
2:22it's close to 500 billion wow um now we
2:27um when we talk about grocery we look at
2:30different type of operations um so you
2:33you would have things like hyper and
2:34supermarkets which are trending toward
2:37more the highend um type of environments
2:41uh lot of SKS relatively big Footprints
2:44so yeah the lacks of Walmart C Etc um we
2:47also have discount hard Discount
2:50Warehouse clubs where it can be um less
2:54cues more Focus heavily on on attractive
2:58prices so are the and and
3:01likes um and we're also looking at
3:04things like convenience stores so these
3:06are of course everywhere you know pop
3:09shops and every country has its own
3:11flavor of it but we're talking about um
3:14big names you know big names in grocery
3:16also are more and more invested in that
3:18type of store so Tesco Express or
3:21something yeah Tesco Express and and
3:23many others they do this kind of corner
3:25store so it's very small footprint so in
3:27terms of logistics right it's it's a
3:29very tight face uh a lot of SKS they all
3:32the lines are very small this this type
3:33of
3:34operation and last but not least
3:36e-commerce right e um so it covers
3:40everything that could be through a
3:42traditional store but also you know
3:45straight to form delivery stuff like
3:47that right um let's let's talk about
3:51challenges and when we talk about
3:53challenges what what are the most common
3:55challenges new customers for example uh
3:58telling you yes
4:01we don't know what to do with this right
4:03well um let's talk first about price
4:06sensitivity right uh what else is new um
4:11there is uh tremendous pressure on on
4:15everyone on the market you know cost of
4:17goods cost of uh energy for
4:19transportation and all that um cost of
4:22capital is also very high so there
4:24there's pressure in in the margin we we
4:26see the margin in grocery are getting
4:28Tighter and Tighter like um last study I
4:31looked at over the last three years we
4:33went from 7.3 in General Industry to 6.3
4:37so a significant drop um so uh what that
4:42means for the operator is uh the
4:44consumers uh today more than ever very
4:46sensitive to price they will switch
4:49stores to find a better deal they always
4:51did right more now most than than
4:55ever and what about another challenge
5:00uh that you mentioned earlier to me
5:01which is uh customer service right so
5:05you know customers is complicated
5:08creatures right um not only that that
5:12they are sensitive about price they also
5:14sensitive about service so service in
5:16general uh having all your SKS uh range
5:20in in the store no no shortage um but
5:23also more and more demands for um
5:27delivery service same day delivery right
5:30um for for you know uh convenience so
5:33more service to the customer right and
5:36they are also as willing uh to to jump
5:39ships to another grosser if they're not
5:41getting the service they expect right I
5:44remember uh when I was living in China
5:47for example it was easier for me to get
5:49my groceries within 30 minutes and that
5:53to me was great service and then I I
5:56moved to
5:57Europe and for the same amount of
6:00groceries that I wanted to I had to
6:02actually book a slot the next day to
6:05receive those to me that was like I
6:08stopped using that service because it
6:10was inconvenient right you know the
6:12expectations keeps growing and growing
6:14you can not just go back yes and and
6:17that's exactly what's going on like it's
6:20never going to go back it's always going
6:21to be more and more service right and so
6:24um then how can what would be the key
6:27for groc distance to retain this
6:30C so yeah this this is the tricky part
6:33because you have those two um things you
6:38those two needs from your customer low
6:41prices and service and you have um to
6:45balance them and they work at ODS right
6:46so if you want to be
6:49um uh cheap and quick and efficient with
6:52your Logistics you're not going to offer
6:55that much service right you to do that
6:57the easy way is to reduce the number
6:58skew
7:00and Etc to to not offer that much
7:04service um but if you do so you're
7:06losing consumer on the other hand if
7:08you're doing everything the customer ask
7:10like deliver single piece of whatever
7:12it's going to be very very expensive so
7:15how do you balance this to especially
7:17with the added fact that this is not a
7:20stable point you find want this this
7:22this is Shifting right so how do you
7:25balance those two is is really the the
7:28core tricky challenge
7:29and so then what can the viewers for
7:32example who are involved in this grocery
7:34business what can they
7:35do well there are things out there that
Hai Robotics' Solutions for Grocery Industry
7:39do exist so um flexibility wise manual
7:43processes are the most flexible thing
7:46ever right you have you have a team of
7:47people your operators they can they can
7:49do any type of work um but of course we
7:53all know the the opcs are very high and
7:56uh labor is always an issue right so uh
8:00finding the the people high turnovers in
8:03the in those type of environments so
8:05it's not it's not a sustainable
8:07long-term
8:09solution um another quote unquote
8:13solution um see like traditional
8:15automation uh I I know a bit about it
8:19this used to be what what I done in a
8:21previous life
8:23um and it's great uh for specific cases
8:27right so namely so traditional
8:29automation we're talking about you know
8:32huge uh systems you know shuttle systems
8:36with uh heavy robotics you know robotic
8:39picking stuff like that mov pet around
8:41so that is great for um when you have a
8:45lot of frers in in specific application
8:48but they are uh very capex intensive
8:52right things and also they are not
8:55flexible they they they are they are the
8:57definition of inflexibility
9:00once you build that you need to be clear
9:02on your road for for 15 20 years is
9:05difficult to to do especially nowadays
9:07that we have such a dynamic business
9:09world you know anything can affect the
9:12business in general inflation Co point
9:17right um you mentioned flexibility and
9:20that's something that we have been
9:22talking about um in previous episodes as
9:24well now how does
9:27flexibility uh play a role
9:30with the grer investors for example more
9:32specific can you give us some examples
9:34well yeah yes exactly that it's
9:37flexibility is the key in this
9:40environment to to be able to fulfill the
9:44customer demand and adapt to that
9:47Evolution you're going to face so um
9:50flexibility is key for grocery and we're
9:52talking about different aspects of fle
9:54flexibility as well because some of it
9:57is the technology we can bring right
9:59right so flexibility in terms of type of
10:02operation you can run or types of loads
10:04you can handle um flexibility of the the
10:09volumes you the the you can also
10:12scalability World um but there also
10:15flexibility in terms of how we offer so
10:19we have capex models but we know also
10:22that you can find leing robots as a
10:25service so all these tools help you have
10:28a more
10:29you know adaptive solution to chall
10:33right right and when we talk about
10:35flexibility of course we cannot not talk
10:38about the high robotic solution right
10:41yes um can you tell us some of the
10:43advantages of the solution sure so
10:46indeed we we pride ourselves of being
10:49having one of the most flexible uh set
10:51of solutions out there hopefully today
10:53we manag to show that a bit um but
10:57really quickly over high so yeah we're
10:59flexible we're scalable as well right we
11:01have a very fine granity um but we do
11:04bring Real Results so we increase
11:07productivity of the picking operation
11:10three times four times over uh we
11:12increase density um right now with some
11:15of solution we'll see later we have some
11:17of the denser solution for storage are
11:20there denser than any cubic storage what
11:23whatever you you can compare it to and
11:26also we very quick to deploy that's also
11:30a key factor because
11:32uncertainty you don't want to be
11:34planning for 10 years ahead and build
11:36something over two years because in that
11:39two years period your plan exactly so
11:42that's also um a great Advantage we have
11:46great um now let's let's talk about more
11:50uh regarding the high robotic solution
11:52for grer uh can you tell us a bit more
11:55about the what high robotics is doing
11:59there high robotics is doing the
12:01solution for for the grocery
12:03differ right so high robotics has a as
12:08as a global company has a has a mission
12:11to empower every Warehouse with a
12:13automated solution with robotics um and
12:16that is very true for grocery a as well
12:18so we're looking to provide solutions
12:20for every part part of the supply chain
12:22and uh to do so we have a full cycle uh
12:27approach to it um we are uh taking care
12:32of customers from the pre-sales space so
12:35study the data uh do simulations Etc
12:38design the solution of course we deliver
12:40and implement it and we service and that
12:43service is also an evolution of the tool
12:46right because uh that's especially true
12:49for grocery we are building the core
12:52operations of our customers so these
12:55need to be evolving with their Channels
12:58with their Market so that's where it's
12:59an actual cycle that repeats is that we
13:02can then um add upon improve and modify
13:05the solution so we always fit to the to
13:08the best day the operations and and do
13:10you have does htics have local support
13:13for this new vertical right uh we do so
13:16it's a it's a global company we we have
13:18a global um vertical team but when we
13:22talking about Europe uh for instance we
13:25have operations here and we also work
13:27with Partners so so we have a um we work
13:31with a range of integrators U and that's
13:34that's true for grocery as well yes
13:36perfect perfect can you go a little bit
13:38deeper and explaining maybe for the
13:40audience who are not familiar with high
13:41robotic solution uh what the components
13:45of the solution in
13:46the sure so high robotics um is the
13:51inventor of the autonomous uh case
13:54handling robots the acrs you can see uh
13:57here the the high robots so these move
14:00around the the warehouse uh they pick
14:02and move items several items at a time
14:05and then can store to Great Heights up
14:06to 12 meters now so this is really the
14:09core technology that started the company
14:12and we complement them with a fleet of
14:14different Mr to move cases to move
14:16pallets to move roll cages Etc um so
14:20this is the core like the the robotics
14:22in the high robotics let's say and um we
14:25build four systems uh with with the
14:28racking the workstation with hods which
14:30is a very powerful tool to to give and
14:33take loads to to
14:35robots and finally of course we provide
14:37the the software uh to run the the whole
14:41system perfect now um some people who
14:44are new to to our webinar hos webinar
14:48also might not be familiar with the
14:50different types of system that we have
14:53right can you tell us a bit more about
14:56the hyic system and the different
14:58[Music]
15:00variations that we have of sure um so
15:03here up on the screen you see the hypix
15:05system one so this is the tried and true
15:09uh system we've done a thousand of them
15:12now literally um so this uses the the
15:17the um hpex for vir or operations so or
15:21inbounds into storage uh replenishment
15:24movements uh bringing items of
15:27presentation to picking stations
15:29uh outbounds Etc so it's all using the
15:31the same Tool uh supplemented by hypos
15:34we we see here so it's a very versatile
15:37um solution solution indeed right and
15:40then we have the hypix system too as
15:42well right indeed so hypix system 2 is a
15:46hybrid solution so it
15:49combines uh the hypix we just saw with
15:53uh some uh paletas so they can move uh
15:56either things we want to pick by case or
15:59things or very fast movers we we we take
16:02a great quantity of so you can combine
16:05those two uh movement the case uh case
16:08load and unit load movements to the same
16:10stations right so useful when when you
16:13have that kind of
16:15hybrids right and finally this is a we
16:19just launched this actually a couple
16:20months ago the hyp system three can you
16:23tell us a bit more about this solution
16:25it's it's a great solution indeed it's
16:27it's very new um just just hit the
16:29market um this is what's doing the
16:33highest density I was mentioning you can
16:36see here uh the chain pick technology it
16:39can go up to five
16:40deep uh to as you see no Gap so no Gap
16:44in the in the S Direction there uh and
16:4612 meters high so this reaches you know
16:49unparallel uh
16:51density um but it has two advantages so
16:55it's also like very dense but the high
16:57piix are only going to do movement into
16:59storage right so the shuffling items to
17:02give to the little Runners we see here
17:05um on the on the ground level that are
17:07going to feed station so it's a very
17:10it's also a very fast solution um and
17:13what is great also for grocery is we can
17:15sequence items uh because we moving
17:17toads you see with the with the little
17:21Transit we we can uh bring SKS in any
17:25order to all stations so it's very power
17:29right this okay so this is these are
17:32great Solutions but how can they be
17:35applied in the grocery
17:37Bas right so there are multiple places
17:43could be used and that's also very much
17:45what we are proposing to the grocery
17:47markets is to have solution for all
17:49across the the supply chain the things
17:52we can mention so with the hypix system
17:54one uh as again it's it's a very
17:56versatile um solution ution um it can be
17:59used in multiple places in multi-
18:01temperature DCS because these are the
18:04hpix uh do exist for uh ambients for
18:08chill but also Frozen so we can have a
18:11mix of operation uh in the same system
18:14um we can build build Central
18:16fulfillment centers right where you
18:18would have um a lot of case piing
18:21operation and some peace picking um High
18:25pick system to um is where so we we have
18:28that combination of pallet or R Cades or
18:30whatever movement with with the cases so
18:33we're thinking about more operation
18:35Central forment Center for sure uh but
18:37also CH DC uh rdc's are a very good good
18:41candidate for for that because they will
18:43have that that mixup Cas we
18:45speaking High pick system three um is
18:50again a latest invention and the spirit
18:52of it is is pushing the limits of
18:54automation so it's the highest storage
18:57density we have again and best in the
18:59market it's also doubling what we call
19:03the performance density so how much frut
19:06we can do on a given space this um puts
19:10this Ty of solution more to Urban Last
19:13Mile type of operation that's where it
19:15would really shine so micr fulfillment
19:17uh and the like um but something I I
19:22really want to point out here we're
19:24talking about flexibility earlier
19:26um they the solution themselves are
19:30flexible because we can design uh and we
19:33can use different kind of robots to do a
19:35hybrid FL but what I want to underline
19:38is these can also be combined the
19:40different hyping systems can be put
19:42together so under the same roof you can
19:44have a very high
19:47density uh deep storage for some of your
19:50SK SKS or replenishment rotation
19:52something like that and with the same
19:54fleets in the same space have uh quick
19:57buffers for you know last minute orders
19:59turn around under the same room so it's
20:02utterly flexible right you can you can
20:05even actually start with hyic system one
20:09for example as your business grows you
20:10can Implement other systems like hyic
20:13system two or three depending on how
20:14your business goes and your requirements
20:16exact right yes it's very very flexible
20:19now I'm interesting excuse me I'm
20:22interesting in in the part of the
20:23specific needs of this industry because
Grocery Business Challenges and Logistics Solutions
20:27you know it it occurs to me that in the
20:30grocery business you handle items of
20:33different sizes different shapes yes
20:35different weights um in different types
20:38of environment you have like very cold
20:41chill environments uh where you I don't
20:44know can handle maybe cold items right
20:49um You can also handle fresh food so how
20:52can H robotic solution deal with all
20:53this particular
20:56weats well yeah as you as you just
20:59mentioned uh there are um a set of
21:02challenges that are very specific gr
21:04that that we are aware about because
21:06otherwise it's just Logistics right
21:08Logistics we we we've done you know uh
21:12again thousand projects so that's that's
21:14that's try and true now what we need for
21:16grocery is indeed uh be able to handle
21:18all kinds of
21:20blads uh which is case we a solution
21:22right we have a wide range of uh weights
21:24and dimensions we can handle and we know
21:27we're going to have things like you know
21:29the open top cartons the shrink wrap
21:31bottle packs all those things that not
21:33stable not behaving mechanically
21:35behaving correctly so we can handle
21:38soorts patterns we can trade things U
21:40with that we we can handle 98 99% of um
21:45of all loads we have and in then we see
21:48things so there are things that are like
21:49more on the mechanical side of things
21:51but they also um needs for logical
21:54things uh so I w't go through the whole
21:58but we can mention things like store
21:59friendliness of the preparation and and
22:02and the sequencing um of items in a
22:05container because if someone orders you
22:08know I don't know some salad and and a
22:12pack of water you want the water at the
22:14bottom and the Sal on top right you
22:16don't you properly don't want to to
22:18crush items so that's putting a extra
22:21set of constraints on the listic that
22:24you wouldn't have in in if you were
22:25dealing with I don't know Electronics
22:28whatever you know things like that um
22:31yeah so with all that in mind uh we want
22:33to bring solutions for all types of
22:36operation in in the grocery supply chain
22:40right and how can these uh Solutions be
22:44applied in the in the grocery supply
22:47chain yeah for
22:49example well yeah so the um grocery
22:55typically run you know domain main
22:58channels we see here um ambient Goods
23:01fresh frozen fruit and V right uh we do
23:06offer solutions for for all of them and
23:08we we are opening all the possibilities
23:10there um they not only have specificity
23:14of course it's not the same temperatures
23:17it's not uh it's not the same set of
23:21items Etc but also uh it's different
23:24operations Al together right so uh
23:27typical en operation you would keep some
23:29stock because you have shelf life right
23:31so you would keep some stock um and you
23:34would pull from the stock when you get
23:36and put it together seeing like fresh
23:39would be FAS fresh would be more pushing
23:42the flow through a system right so it's
23:44it's in in logic it's more like a
23:47sortation thing right you get everything
23:49and you need to dispatch
23:51it right so we understand all those
23:55challenges uh specific challenges
23:58to to grocery but also to the path of
24:00grocery and um
24:03we present ourself uh to become
24:07automation on stop shop right for for
24:09the groceries fighting you wanted to
24:12also show us uh the there's a graphic
24:15here you want to explain about the one
24:17stop solution right so inde so every um
24:23every grocery company will have a supply
24:26chain that is specific to it even though
24:29there like several models we find
24:31repeating but to to
24:34um a type of operation so if you we go
24:38back in the presentation where we were
24:39talking about you know supermarkets
24:42Discounters e-commerce convence uh this
24:45will Define um generally your supply
24:49chain
24:50architecture and for the different
Robotic Solutions for Regional Distribution Centers
24:52places in that supply chain we're going
24:54to have uh High robotic solution so we
24:57are putting together the high Regional
25:01distribution center by
25:02RDC where we're going to see
25:06um uh some case picking some piece
25:09picking under the same roof so that's
25:11where we might might use um Hy system
25:14too to have like a hybrid pallet in in a
25:18case
25:19Movement we can also uh offer things on
25:23a larger scale like Central forment
25:25Center or decanting Hub on part of it
25:28um where here we're going to have you
25:31know um more volumes overall but also
25:35bigger hit race because you're dealing
25:36with larger volumes at the same times uh
25:41uh places where we also provide solution
25:43where you have to keep in mind your your
25:45your uh SE movers right of SE movers so
25:48you have a lot of deep storage that we
25:50can include in in a system and trying to
25:52balance everything out but also uh
25:56things that the micr fulfillment center
25:58right so uh typically there the the set
26:01of challenges is a bit different it's uh
26:04more urban close to dense population
26:07Center so the real estate is going to be
26:11expensive um part come by the the space
26:15might not be a neat industrial space
26:18might be a bit awkward so we have a
26:20solution to deal with with all that and
26:22do the automation to the that also
26:25speaks for the flexibility of the
26:27solution that can be implemented in not
26:30a specific Warehouse right for the
26:33distribution but like in pretty much any
26:35type of space yes okay we're reaching
26:41almost the the end of this presentation
26:43but we have a a real case a case study
26:47for you guys um this is well Nicholas is
26:51going to explain one of our uh projects
26:54with a big supermarket chain
26:58um and Nicholas could you please tell
27:00the audience who is this uh customer
27:04what were the challenges um how the
27:07htics help solve their challenges and
27:10what would the results after
27:12implementing this solution okay yes yeah
27:14because all nice you know talking about
27:16all parental real real case study let's
27:20go um yes this is uh
27:24y
27:26Superstores it's a it's a huge play
27:29player in uh China right a big Big R so
27:32they have uh more than a thousand stores
27:36in 29 provinces so the whole country so
27:40it's something the size
27:42of something like that spread out right
27:45to the to the to the scale of
27:47China and um they uh started they they
27:52had the strategy uh from 2019 onwards um
27:56an OM channel channel sorry um strategy
28:00so they have big and small stores going
28:03on but also um EEG grossery services so
28:08home delivery is what they're doing so
28:11this this created um a shift like it it
HaiPick System Boosts Efficiency
28:15puts a a strain on the operation because
28:17it's hard to it's it's one thing being
28:21good at one type of operational
28:23Logistics and it's it's not easy but
28:25being good at several types of operation
28:28that you have to do at the same time is
28:30even harder so they were Str struggling
28:34with the with the volume increase
28:35because the company was growing as well
28:37and the number of skes were was
28:39exploding so they really needed um
28:43something to help them with
28:44productivity um because if we look at
28:47their uh pain points uh they they were
28:50having the operation were very uh labor
28:54intensive first of all so uh uh China is
28:58experiencing labor shortages like a lot
29:01of countries places around the world it
29:04is it is very very deep uh topic but
29:08U um on top of that the skew increase uh
29:13which was very significant significant
29:15sorry for Yong um had several effects on
29:19them so first of all the footprint
29:22increased because um simple rule Thumb
29:25in a traditional is you're going to need
29:29a linear meter po Cube you need a pet
29:33width on the ground level to be
29:37accessible for the picking um so that's
29:40that's all fine right but once your SKS
29:44gets so numerous right a thousand skus
29:47is a kilometer in in linear space um
29:51your Pickers to fulfill an order are
29:54going to be doing a lot more walking
29:55than picking so the productivity will
29:59crash down with
30:00that now all that leaded to to uh really
30:05low productivity the solution we gave
30:08them uh High pick system one um tried
30:12and true uh apply to grocery uh this
30:16system handles uh 20K orders per day uh
30:20so it's it's a store replenishment uh
30:23system right delivering to uh all sides
30:26uh of soures um in the in the center of
30:30China for y uh we have 57 of the a42s
30:35you can see picture here so this is all
30:37some products we good example here um
30:42it's uh this one is one of the shorter
30:44version this is a 5.2 meter version with
30:47with six loads on top of it we have
30:51bigger versions of that but that was
30:54wasn't useful there um and yeah so we
30:57have have 28 uh 18,000 storage location
31:01in there with a mix of toast and coun
31:04right so also that flexibility being
31:06brought down so what happened for them
31:09is we uh quadrupled uh the picking
31:12efficiency right so that's 75% of your
31:17of your Workforce labor save that that's
31:20solving huge problems right um they're
31:24saving 86 FTE so it's also a very
31:27profitable like great Returns on that um
31:30one thing worth noting also is that not
31:32only you you you are solving the labor
31:35problem because you have you need less
31:37people but the jobs that remain also
31:40more attractive because it's not just
31:43you know and know it's not just physical
31:46physical hard labor and and they in
31:48there out it's a it's a improve the
31:50conditions for them you improve
31:51condition you improve the the the
31:54perceive value of the job right right is
31:56to because you dealing with technology
31:58so they retain their employees easier
32:01the employees are happier and doing a
32:04better job that's great and the storage
32:06density well 66% increase in storage
32:09density all right well Nicholas uh thank
Grocery Solution Presentation and Feedback Session
32:12you so much we are a little bit behind
32:15schedule so let's wrap up this
32:18presentation you know it's an
32:20interesting topic we could speak we
32:22speak yes ours but we understand also
32:25the audience have uh their own t
32:27and let's wrap up this with some final
32:30thoughts on what we discuss maybe
32:31something you want to tell the audience
32:35uh as a summary of this presentation
32:37today before we move into the Q&A okay
32:41well and hopefully we we manag to to
32:44show the audience that uh uh we here uh
32:47with a serious offer for for grocery um
32:50we're building dedicated Solutions uh we
32:53believe them to be uh immensely flexible
32:56and that's we we are here listening to
32:59to the to the sector to the market um to
33:02build even better Solutions great thank
33:06you Nicholas and so anybody who wants to
33:09be in touch with Nicholas with the team
33:12uh you can reach out to us also couple
33:15of announcements we if you missed any of
33:18our previous episodes or you wish to you
33:21know uh watch them all um you can scan
33:25the QR code uh and you can see all the
33:28previous we have six episodes that we've
33:29filmed so far this year uh they're all
33:32available with the QR code that you can
33:35see on the screen right now and a quick
33:38reminder we would love to have your
33:40feedback on what we're doing here at
33:42high robotic this webinar series if you
33:44wish to uh wish us to talk about
33:48specific Topic in the future or you want
33:51you have some suggestions of how we can
33:53improve this webinar series we will
33:55encourage you to to give us a feedback
33:58so we can create better content for all
34:00of you now your questions so let's see
34:04if uh we have some questions from the
34:07audience that Nicholas will help us
34:10answer to to all of you uh well our team
34:15is preparing the questions uh I just
34:17want to thank everybody for tuning today
34:20on a Wednesday morning um on a close to
34:25Christmas or holiday
34:28uh we appreciate you for being in here
34:32so we have the questions here on
34:35Nicholas and stano asked what is the
Robot Fleet Productivity and Resilience
34:39typical optimal productivity level of
34:43the solution number of pin presentations
34:46per Pig station for
34:49instance well that's that's uh that's a
34:54question with multiple answers really
34:55because um um it depends very much on on
34:58the design of the um of the
35:01station um we can go uh we have designed
35:05to go up to 900 uh presentation power
35:08using the high Port which is the machine
35:10unloading a um High pick uh at once so
35:15typically 900 presentation per hour is
35:17not going to be a single super human
35:20picker small gear to like robotic
35:24picking uh then yeah we we design it to
35:28to always saturate uh the Picker uh so
35:33uh a simple station uh will be 250 and
35:38presentation per hour and it goes up a
35:40lot more as I just mentioned I would
35:43recommend that um if you have a specific
35:45question regarding a specific project
35:47you have in mind as your company get in
35:50touch with us so we can provide you with
35:52more accurate uh answers to all of your
35:56your questions questions uh we have
35:58another another question here so in case
36:02of system or robot failure how can you
36:05assure minimum operation
36:09disruption well that's that's one great
36:12thing about about our Solutions is that
36:14they are very resilient there's no
36:16single point of failure uh every single
36:20robots can access every part of the
36:22system so every storage location every
36:25inbound and outbound points so if there
36:28is a a robot failure we just retrieve it
36:32put it away and the rest of the fleet is
36:33going to do I I remember also during the
36:37the last uh the new system launch uh
36:41hobot introduced the um the High vest
36:45which I I saw was also very
36:48interesting that the operator the person
36:51who enters the area puts it on and then
36:54in a radius remember a reers yeah all
36:58the RS around will you know reduce the
37:01speed or stop working yeah which in a
37:04way also doesn't make you stop the whole
37:07operation that's that's very useful
37:09indeed for for like larger systems
37:11because without without that system uh
37:14indeed you're going to stop the whole
37:16operation with a with um High vest you
37:20will only slow down and then stop the
37:23immediate vicinity of
37:25the yeah right great is very useful
37:29let's see another let's check two more
37:31questions uh what what kind of system
37:34does your software
37:38support interesting question also also
37:41last question huh um so we provide of
37:45course uh what we call our ESS uh which
37:47is our Fleet Management plus like
37:49resource uh managements uh we refer to
37:52this as white box system uh to be then
37:55interfaced with a uh WCS or WMS from
37:59from the customer or for from an
38:01integrator as well um otherwise we have
38:05what we call the blackbox uh offer where
38:08we have our own um WCS so that it can
38:12handle the orders the batch name and the
38:15inventory uh but it's for like a
38:18self-contained High robotic solution
38:21right right um let's give one more final
38:24question we appreciate everybody who had
38:26the time to to leave the questions uh
38:29for Nicholas and remind you all that you
38:32can contact him and contact the the team
38:35if you want to get more information
38:37about our
38:38submission um is it possible to hire
38:41additional robots to help navigate PE
38:45periods of course that's that's a great
38:48thing about about distributed robotic so
38:51not only we can add more robots through
38:54you know various uh schemes games or
38:57robots as a service Etc you can also
39:00shift the type of operation because you
39:02can have hybrid hybrid fleets right so
39:05you can add uh more of the fleet that
39:08you need to have not just robot like the
39:10specific robots all right all right well
39:14I guess that's uh the end of of today's
39:17episode thank you very much everybody
39:19who tuning in today uh we appreciate you
39:22being here watching us we prepare this
39:25with a lot of love and we hope it has
39:27been of great value for all of you thank
39:29you Nicholas for being here today thank
39:31you Jonathan thank you everyone and see
39:33you next time byebye
39:55bye
