0:00hello and welcome or welcome back my

0:03name is Claire I'm the Creator behind 53

0:05stitches and today we're going to be

0:07making this super cute little coaster

0:09it's great for drinks or for decoration

0:11around your house and it's perfect for

0:15beginners so luckily a nice short list

0:18of materials that we need today I have

0:20some DK weight mercerized cotton yarn

0:23this particular one is drops Muscat in

0:25the color 30 and we've also got a 3 mm

0:30crochet hook or a size five a pair of

0:33scissors a yarn needle for finishing the

0:35coaster off at the end and I've got two

0:37Stitch markers here so that we can show

0:39you the correct place to um start and

0:42finish your rounds this coaster starts

0:45with a magic circle which can be quite a

0:47tricky technique for a beginner to learn

0:49we're just going to go through it slowly

0:51feel free to rewatch this part as often

0:53as you need to so you've got the tail

0:57end of your yarn and then the working

0:59yarn is what is still attached to the

1:00ball we're going to wrap that yarn

1:03around our finger

1:05once twice and then pull it over and

1:09then join it here at your ring finger

1:12and just pinch that in place with your

1:13thumb then you want to insert your

1:15crochet hook underneath that first Loop

1:18the second Loop and then grab that third

1:21length of yarn pull it under both of

1:24those

1:25Loops grab that working yarn again and

1:29then pull it through through the loop

1:31that we have on our hook now you can

1:33take this magic circle off your finger

1:37and just pull that working yarn to

1:39tighten in place this is technically a

1:42magic ring complete so we have these two

1:45little Loops that we'll pull on later to

1:47close the circle and the tail end of the

1:49yarn over here and we've got one loop on

1:51our crochet hook at the moment and so to

1:55start the first round we're just going

1:56to chain two so to chain you want to y

1:59yarn over so wrap the yarn over the

2:02crochet hook and use the little hook at

2:05the end just to pull it through the loop

2:07that's sitting on the hook so that's one

2:10chain and then we do it again to

2:12complete a second chain so we're going

2:15to work 14 double crochets into this

2:17magic circle to start our coaster and to

2:20do a double crochet the first step is to

2:22yarn over and then insert your crochet

2:25hook into that big circle yarn over

2:29again

2:30draw it through and you'll see that we

2:32now have three loops on our crochet hook

2:36you want to yarn over and draw through

2:38two of those Loops we now have two loops

2:42on our crochet hook yarn over again and

2:45draw through those remaining two loops

2:47and that is your first double crochet

2:49completed now it can be a bit tricky to

2:52find your stitches when you're first

2:53starting so we're actually just going to

2:55pull that up there and we're going to

2:59add a stitch marker to Mark our first

3:01double crochet so you can see here we've

3:04got these three V shapes the top one is

3:08our first Stitch that we've just

3:09completed so insert your stitch marker

3:12underneath both Loops of that Stitch to

3:14help us find it later those other two

3:17v's are from that chain that we did at

3:19the

3:20start now you can put your crochet hook

3:23back on your put the loop back on your

3:26crochet hook and pull that working yarn

3:28to tighten it and then we're going to

3:30continue doing the other 13 double

3:33crochets that start our round so again

3:35yarn over insert your crochet hook yarn

3:39over again and pull up Loop yarn over

3:44draw through two of those Loops yarn

3:47over again and draw through the final

3:50two so that's our second double crochet

3:52let's do the third yarn over

3:56insert yarn

3:58over pull up

4:00yarn over draw through two yarn over

4:05draw through two so we've got one 2 3

4:09then we'll do

4:14[Music]

4:18four

4:22[Music]

4:245 6

4:28[Music]

4:367

4:408

4:459

4:4910

4:5411

4:5812 1

5:0213 and our last

5:05one

5:0814 okay so those are the 14 double

5:11crochets in our first round complete

5:14we're actually going to open up that

5:15Loop now and let's count them

5:17together so each little V here is one

5:23stitch so we've got 1 2

5:273 4 5 5 6

5:317 just hold that

5:35place 8 9 10 11 12 13 and then our 14th

5:43Stitch is the first one that we did and

5:46it's marked by our stitch marker here

5:47and we're actually going to take our

5:49second stitch marker and insert that

5:51underneath the last Stitch that we've

5:53just done so that we know when uh we

5:56reach the end of the round for our next

5:58round

6:00now the last thing left to do is to

6:02close up this magic circle so first

6:04let's just pull on both of those Loops

6:06to

6:07bunch to Bunch those stitches up a bit

6:10more and then you've got these two Loops

6:13here in our magic circle you want to

6:14pull one of them until the other one

6:16starts to close so I've just pulled the

6:18wrong one there because it is pulling my

6:21tail shorter instead I'll go and get

6:23that second Loop and you can see that

6:26that other loop starts to disappear

6:29so you can pull that one until the tail

6:31starts to move and

6:34then you can pull that

6:36tail to close the circle and the tail

6:39can be a little tough to pull at first

6:41especially if you've moved it like I

6:42just

6:43did so you can still see a little bit of

6:46the table through that so I'm just going

6:48to pull that extra tight to get that as

6:51closed as we

6:53[Music]

6:55can and you can trim this tail a little

6:58bit you want to leave at least a small

7:01length that we can hide later um but if

7:04I find if the tail is too long it's

7:06definitely going to bother me while I'm

7:07crocheting the rest of the coaster so we

7:09now have the last stitch in the round

7:12marked by our pink stitch marker and the

7:14first Stitch that we did in the round

7:15marked with our blue stitch marker and

7:18to actually finish this round we're

7:20going to do a slip stitch into that

7:22first Stitch to join the round together

7:25so insert your crochet hook underneath

7:28both of the loops the little V shape of

7:31that

7:32Stitch and then yarn over and pull it

7:35through you now have two loops on your

7:38hook and for a slip stitch you just pull

7:41that

7:43Loop through the other one and that is

7:46our slip stitch complete and you can see

7:47that that's formed like a nice little

7:49circular shape and now we're going to do

7:52the same thing we did with our magic

7:53circle at the start and that is we're

7:55going to chain two so yarn over draw

7:58through down over draw through and

8:01that's to get us up the height that we

8:03need for the second row now the first

8:07Stitch that we work into for the second

8:09row is this one that's still marked by

8:10our blue stitch marker so I'm actually

8:12just going to take this out so that I

8:15can put my crochet hook in there and

8:17there's enough space for it but you just

8:19want to take note of which Stitch that

8:21is because that is where our crochet

8:24hook is going to be going for our first

8:26double crochet of round two so we're

8:28going to yarn over insert into that

8:31Stitch we just removed the marker from

8:34yarn over again you've got three loops

8:37on the hook yarn over draw through two

8:42yarn over draw through two and so we've

8:44just completed our first double crochet

8:46of round two and we're going to mark

8:49that Stitch again with our blue stitch

8:53marker so it's just this little V at the

8:58top

8:59and that's going to help us

9:01find where we should slip it where we

9:04should slip stitch into when we reach

9:06the end of this round and for each

9:08stitch in this round we're actually

9:09going to do an increase we're going to

9:11do a second double crochet straight into

9:13that same Stitch so we'll yarn over and

9:16insert through yarn over pull up a loop

9:21yarn over draw through two of those

9:23loops and then yarn over and draw

9:25through those final two you can see that

9:27those two double crochets are coming out

9:30of that same starting Stitch and so

9:32that's our first increase done we're

9:34going to do an increase in every single

9:36stitch around the circle until we reach

9:39our final stitch marker and that means

9:41that we will have added another 14

9:44double crochets to our round we'll have

9:4728 stitches in total at the end so for

9:51our first double crochet of our next

9:53Stitch we're going to go into the Stitch

9:55that sits next to the one that we've

9:57worked into so yarn over

10:00insert underneath both of the loops of

10:02that Stitch yarn over pull up a loop

10:06yarn over draw through two Loops yarn

10:09over draw through the final two that's

10:11the first double crochet of our increase

10:14and then back into that same Stitch to

10:17do the second double crochet of our

10:19increase so that's two increases that

10:22we've done and we've got four stitches

10:24in the round so far so we'll just keep

10:26doing that all the way around

10:28[Music]

10:32then back into the same

10:33[Music]

10:36Stitch and then we've done two and one

10:38so we move on to the next

10:49Stitch and cotton yarn in particular can

10:53do this sort of splitting action because

10:55each thread of yarn is made up of a

10:57number of different PES sometimes the

10:59yarn will split like this so just try

11:02and be careful and watch out for it and

11:04if it does

11:06happen you can usually like for example

11:10if I pulled through half of it and it

11:11does this sort of situation you can

11:15usually take all of the stitches off

11:18your hook until you have that last one

11:19left and then just pull it straight to

11:22tidy up that yarn and put it all back

11:24together again and then just start the

11:26Stitch

11:27again to avoid that

11:29not all Yarns are going to do that but

11:31cotton in particular when it's made up

11:34of a number of different PES can be a

11:37little finicky to work

11:42[Music]

11:48with Okay so we've just done our second

11:50last increase of the round and the next

11:53Stitch is the one that's marked by our

11:55stitch marker that tells us it's the

11:57last Stitch from the last round so this

11:59is actually the last increase that we

12:01have left to work before we finished

12:03with the double crochets in the round

12:05and the reason that we mark it is that

12:07you can see that it looks like there are

12:09actually two stitches left in the round

12:11you've got this one here and then

12:13another one that looks another little V

12:16that looks like it's a stitch here this

12:18one here is actually the slip stitch

12:20that we completed to join the round

12:21together and we don't work into that

12:23when we're working in joined rounds so

12:25you can take that pink marker out now

12:30and we'll work our last increase into

12:32that

12:36[Music]

12:40Stitch and then you can put that pink

12:42stitch marker back on the last Stitch of

12:46this round so that you know where it is

12:48for the next

12:49one and then we just need to join the

12:52round to finish it so again we've got

12:54this blue stitch marker here you can go

12:56underneath that one and do your slip

12:58stitch

12:59to finish round two and then your chain

13:02two to get us up to the height that we

13:05need for round three so we are ready to

13:08start round three it also starts with an

13:10increase the same way we did last time

13:12so we're going to work two single

13:13crochets into that first Stitch which is

13:15the one that's marked by the blue stitch

13:17marker and then we're going to do a

13:19double crochet in the second Stitch and

13:22we're going to repeat that pattern all

13:23the way around so we'll do an increase a

13:26double crochet an increase a double

13:28crochet crochet and increase a double

13:30crochet and so on and so forth until we

13:32reach the end of the round so I'm going

13:34to take this blue stitch marker out

13:37we'll do the first double crochet of

13:39that

13:40increase into that Stitch that it was

13:46marking and then on the first one we can

13:49replace that stitch marker so we know

13:51where to look next time and then the

13:53second double crochet of that

13:56increase and that's our first Stitch and

13:59and then we're just going to do one

14:00double crochet in the next

14:02Stitch and that's the first instance of

14:05our repeat and then the repeat will

14:07start again so we'll do a double crochet

14:09increase in the next Stitch so one two

14:12back into that same Stitch and then

14:15we'll just do a single double

14:18crochet that's confusing terminology

14:20we'll just do one double crochet into

14:22the next Stitch so you can kind of see

14:24our pattern here it's okay it it's hard

14:26to see because it can take some time to

14:28recognize this stitches we've got two

14:31double crochets worked into the first

14:32one one in the second two into the third

14:36one into the fourth and we'll just

14:38repeat that pattern of 2 1 2 1 all the

14:41way around until we reach our end of

14:43round

14:56marker Okay so we've just completed the

15:00increase of our repeat and our very last

15:02Stitch is going to be one double crochet

15:05so I'm going to take that stitch marker

15:06out and I'm actually going to leave it

15:09off for the next round and we will see

15:11if we can identify the correct stitch

15:14together without using Stitch markers

15:16but while you're beginning I recommend

15:18using as many Stitch markers as you need

15:20even if you want to put them at at

15:21different intervals around the circle to

15:23help you keep count and help you keep

15:25track of what the last Stitch you did

15:27was you know use as many Stitch markers

15:30as you need they they are there to help

15:32you learn so we have finished our last

15:35double crochet and then we're just going

15:36to slip stitch into the first Stitch of

15:40the

15:42round to complete round three and I'm

15:45going to remove that stitch marker as

15:47well so we're doing hard mode

15:51now

15:52so to start round four we're going to do

15:56the same two chain start to get us up to

15:58the right height basically each round

16:01we've started with 14 double crochets in

16:03the first round and we added 14 double

16:05crochets because we did 14 increases in

16:08the second round at the end of round

16:10three you should have 42 stitches

16:12because on top of the 28 that we had in

16:14round two we added another 14 through

16:17our increases so we're going to do the

16:19same thing again add another 14 stitches

16:22in round four because adding the same

16:25number of stitches that we started with

16:27helps create this nice flat Circle um

16:30and we'll block it at the end as well

16:31which will help it actually sit flat too

16:33but we can worry about that later so the

16:36pattern repeat to get those additional

16:3814 stitches in is our first Stitch is

16:41going to be a double crochet then we're

16:43going to do an increase and then a

16:45double crochet and then we'll repeat

16:47that three- Stitch repeat all the way

16:49around our Circle so it will be double

16:51crochet increase double crochet double

16:54crochet increase double crochet and

16:57you'll notice that two double crochets

16:58are sitting right next to each other you

17:01can also do an increase to start and

17:04then two double crochets an increase two

17:06double crochets if that's an easier

17:08pattern to remember the reason that I

17:09split those stitches up is to help

17:12stagger the increases and I have a whole

17:13video on the topic if you're interested

17:15in learning why we do that but basically

17:17it's to help keep a rounder shape for

17:19our coaster so you can learn more about

17:22that if you'd like to but for now let's

17:23just get started so we'll do a double

17:26crochet into that same Stitch that we

17:29slip stitched into to finish the round

17:32so we'll do one double crochet into that

17:35Stitch and then our next Stitch is going

17:37to be an increase so that's two double

17:40crochets worked into the same

17:42[Music]

17:47Stitch and then our third Stitch is

17:49going to be just a double

17:53crochet so that's our double crochet

17:55increase double crochet and now we'll do

17:57double crochet increase double crochet

17:59and we'll just keep repeating that

18:00Circle all the way around

18:03until we are at the end and your final

18:07Stitch should be the final Stitch of the

18:09repeat so it will be the double

18:13crochet that happens after the

18:20[Music]

18:24increase and then we're on our last

18:26repeat

18:30so an

18:32[Music]

18:34increase and then again we've removed

18:37our Stitch markers this time but you can

18:38see we've got the slip stitch from last

18:41round and then the actual last round of

18:43the Stitch and you can kind of see these

18:44slip stitches because they have this

18:47vertical bar there it is and there as

18:51well that can be really tricky to spot

18:53though so again use the the Stitch

18:55markers if you need to and then our

18:57final single crochet before the round

19:00and then we will join it to that first

19:02Stitch from the last round from the

19:05round and you can see it because we know

19:08it was a double crochet you can see the

19:11double crochet in that Stitch and it

19:13goes up to that

19:16V those sorts of um recognizing the

19:19stitches becomes a lot easier once

19:22you've had a bit of practice so this is

19:24the end of round four of our coaster and

19:27the last thing left to do is we we are

19:28going to be adding that little scalloped

19:30edge around the side which means that we

19:33actually start this round a little

19:34differently than we've started the rest

19:35of them so we've usually done two chains

19:38to get to the height of a double crochet

19:40for our next round but the scalloped

19:42Edge which I have a finished coaster

19:44here this scalloped Edge has this little

19:47divot and it's actually where we're

19:48going to be starting so we're going to

19:51do one

19:52[Music]

19:54chain

19:56for round five and then that's the

20:00that's the the extent of the height that

20:02we need for this round so we can we can

20:04get started after that so we're going to

20:07be doing a single crochet now in this

20:09first Stitch so we've learned how to do

20:11a double crochet a single crochet is

20:14half the height of a double crochet

20:17hence the name um and it's a little bit

20:19simpler so the first thing you do is you

20:22simply insert your crochet hook into

20:24that same Stitch that we did the slip

20:26stitch in the same way that we have for

20:28all the other rounds you yarn over pull

20:31through you've got two loops on your

20:33hook yarn over and pull through both of

20:36those Loops so a double crochet has a

20:38lot more steps single crochet is nice

20:40and simple in the next Stitch we're

20:42going to work three double crochets so

20:45similar to an increase where we work two

20:47double crochets in the same Stitch we're

20:49now going to work three double crochets

20:51into the same Stitch so start with the

20:54yarn over

20:56insert pull through three loops on the

20:58hook hook yarn over draw through two two

21:02loops on the hook yarn over draw through

21:04two so we've got the first double

21:07crochet that we've completed and now

21:08we're going to do a second one back into

21:10that same

21:12[Music]

21:13Stitch and then a third double crochet

21:17into that same

21:18[Music]

21:21Stitch and you can see that we're kind

21:23of building up at an angle our single

21:26crochet gives us a little bump height

21:29our double crochets give us a bigger

21:30bump and then for the next Stitch we're

21:32going to work a single crochet into that

21:34one again so or go through that slower

21:37you insert your crochet hook into the

21:39next Stitch without yarning over first

21:43then you yarn over and pull it through

21:45you have two loops on your hook yarn

21:48over and pull through both Loops so we

21:51started at a smaller height went up and

21:53then went back down and then for our

21:56next Stitch to go even closer to the

21:58Edge we're just going to do a slip

22:00stitch so it starts the same way as a

22:03single crochet insert straight

22:05in draw through but instead of yarning

22:08over at this point you just draw it

22:10through and I find it helpful to twist

22:13the yarn backwards at this point I don't

22:15know why it just seems to play nicer so

22:18that is our first little scallop and

22:22we're repeating that four stitch pattern

22:24all the way around so it's a single

22:26crochet three double crochets a single

22:29crochet and a slip stitch so let's do

22:31that again we start with a single

22:35crochet then we work three double

22:37crochets into the next

22:39[Music]

22:48Stitch then we work a single crochet

22:51into the next

22:52Stitch and then a slip stitch into the

22:56last Stitch of the repeat and there's

22:58two of our little scallops so again it's

23:01a four Stitch repeat a single crochet

23:04three double crochets a single crochet

23:07and then a slip stitch

23:09so single crochet three double

23:19crochets single

23:21crochet and then a slip

23:24stitch and just keep repeating that

23:27until we arrive at the end of the round

23:29[Music]

23:36again okay I've just finished the slip

23:39stitch of the second last repeat I just

23:42want to make sure that there are 1 2 3

23:44four stitches left until we reach the

23:47end of the round and there are and so

23:48that's how you know that you've repeated

23:51the you've done the the repeats

23:54correctly um I always recommend counting

23:58your stitches as often as you can to

24:00make sure that if there are any mistakes

24:02you catch them

24:05quickly so that's our three double

24:07crochets in one stitch single crochet

24:11and then there is the final slip

24:14stitch

24:18whoops the final slip

24:21stitch and then you can cut your yarn it

24:24doesn't have to be super long just long

24:27enough so that we can hide the tape

24:29and then you just pull your crochet hook

24:30out to pull that tail through and then

24:34you can tighten it there are two last

24:37little things that we have to do to

24:39finish this coaster number one is hide

24:41these two tails the one that is left

24:43from when we finished the coaster and

24:45the one that's left from when we started

24:48so to do that you want to take the yarn

24:50needle that we prepared earlier and

24:53you're going to thread

24:54that tail onto

24:58see if I can get that on

25:00camera you want to thread the tail onto

25:03that yarn needle and the difference

25:04between a yarn needle and a regular

25:06needle is usually just that the eye of

25:08the needle is massive so that you can

25:10actually get the yarn onto it easily and

25:13the tip of the nail is usually quite

25:15blunt um and that's so that it doesn't

25:18split the wool or the cotton in this

25:22case um as easily so to find the Stitch

25:25that we are going to go into

25:29so we have the straight bar here of the

25:32slip stitch that we did to join round

25:37four and then this one here is the

25:40single crochet that we did as part of

25:43our

25:44first uh

25:46scallop so if you can find that one and

25:49usually it's easy to find the one that

25:51has three double crochets coming out of

25:53it because it's a lot denser and bulkier

25:55than the stitches behind it because it's

25:57got those three stitches going into it

26:00so you want The Little V right next to

26:03those three double crochets and then you

26:05want to see where they lead up to so

26:09you're going to insert your yarn needle

26:12almost like you would for a single

26:13crochet underneath the V of that first

26:17single crochet that we did of the

26:19round and then you just draw it

26:23through and you can see here where the

26:26yarn is coming out we actually want to

26:29go back into that same spot that it's

26:32coming out of and it can be quite Tight

26:34cuz we actually pulled

26:36it so where the yarn is coming out here

26:40you want to insert your needle back

26:43through that same

26:47Stitch there and you want to go down so

26:51from the top down so we are basically

26:54going to be

26:56creating the Little V so there's our V

27:01that we've just sewn in place if you

27:04pull that

27:05tight it just disappears into the rest

27:08of

27:09them and then that

27:11edge has that same nice smooth Center

27:15that the rest of the sculps do so to

27:19then Hide Your Tail underneath it you

27:21want to take your yarn

27:24needle kind of follow the

27:26pattern that the

27:28the yarn and the stitches are already

27:30going in so I like to just go underneath

27:33one of those Loops there then maybe turn

27:35it

27:36around and we're aiming

27:38for if you follow

27:42sorry if you follow like this little

27:45thread for example and then go

27:47underneath and there is a point here

27:51where you can see all of these little

27:53V's you want to go underneath those and

27:58you'll kind of feel it with the needle

28:00there is sort of like a pocket of

28:03stitches that your needle can sit

28:06through so if I just wiggle my way

28:09through that little

28:12pocket so on this side here you can

28:15barely see the needle through those

28:16stitches and if I flip it around you can

28:19barely see the needle on the other side

28:21as well because it's sitting in between

28:23that those layers of stitches and that's

28:25a really good place to hide your Tails

28:29then you can just pull it through wiggle

28:31it around a little so it's sitting nice

28:33and naturally that's a very technical

28:36term there and then I usually go

28:37underneath one of these bar stitches on

28:40the back and then I do the same thing in

28:43the next row just

28:45going in underneath all of those

28:49V's wherever it feels like the needle is

28:51happy to go and this one doesn't seem

28:54very happy at all does

28:56it and that this is another reason why

28:59you want a really blunt yarn needle

29:01because it's not going to split all of

29:03those threads it's just going to

29:05sit nicely in them and I'm pretty happy

29:08with that that's two passes under a few

29:11stitches and then we'll do the same

29:13thing with

29:14the starting tail so just thread that

29:17onto the

29:20needle and then I usually take it

29:25underneath a few stitches of this first

29:27ring around from

29:29our starting

29:32point like

29:34that and then underneath one of

29:38these little

29:42bars and then back in the opposite

29:49direction into the

29:52little sleevey kind of section

30:02[Music]

30:11and because I cut my thread Too Short at

30:13the start it's falling off but sometimes

30:14it's easier to place the needle and then

30:16thread

30:18it and we'll pull that

30:22[Music]

30:24through give it a good little

30:26wiggle and then then I like to fold it

30:30over pull it a little bit and then just

30:33get as close as you can without actually

30:36cutting your

30:38coaster and just trim the the extra tail

30:42that we

30:43[Music]

30:46have and that

30:49is your beautiful little scalloped

30:52coaster with all of the Tails neatly

30:56hidden and

30:59um you'll notice that the scallops kind

31:01of like turn inwards a little bit or at

31:03least they do for me that how much they

31:06do that is going to change depending on

31:08your tension the material you used Etc

31:11um but we've got one last step before

31:13this coaster is finished and it involves

31:15an iron okay so the last thing that we

31:18have left to do is actually block our

31:20coasters so that they sit a little bit

31:22more flat got my little pile of coasters

31:24to block and blocking is basically just

31:28ironing I have my iron here which is set

31:31to the uh two dot setting and your yarn

31:34band will tell you what setting you want

31:36to have your iron set to so this one

31:38here is the drops Muscat label when you

31:41open it up on the inside it has all of

31:43the symbols that show you the care

31:45instructions so this one here is the one

31:46that tells us we want our iron set to

31:49too if you have a synthetic fiber for

31:52example I have a band here for the

31:53premier pafa chunky which is a 100%

31:56polyester it will have this little no

31:59ironing symbol because applying heat

32:01directly to a plastic product is

32:03generally a bad idea in that case you

32:06can still block The Coasters you can

32:07still make it of that kind of material

32:09and help it to sit flat but what you

32:11want to do is use some kind of fabric in

32:13between so this one here is just a

32:16cotton tea toil that I have that I've

32:18soaked in water and then you just

32:20squeeze all of the water out and you can

32:22place it on top of your

32:24coaster and then

32:28uh you'd want to have your iron set to a

32:30higher setting for this one so probably

32:31over on the actual Cotton or linen

32:33setting um and in that instance when you

32:36press over it all of the steam from the

32:38wet tea towel will heat the coaster and

32:41block it for you so that's still one way

32:44that you can block your coaster for a

32:46synthetic fabric um but in this case we

32:48should be able to iron just directly on

32:50it because we've got it set to the

32:51settings that are on the care label of

32:53our

32:54yarn so it's pretty simple

32:58just lay the piece on I've got the steam

33:00setting

33:01on because the steam is really going to

33:04help relax all of those

33:07stitches and it doesn't take long and

33:11you can already see the difference in

33:13how flat this coaster is sitting around

33:15those scallops compared to one that we

33:17haven't ironed yet and I also like to

33:19flip it over and just give it a quick

33:21little go on the reverse side as well

33:24and it really doesn't take long at all

33:28and that's it that's your last step so

33:30your coaster is all finished now and you

33:33can make as many colors as you want I'm

33:35going to iron the rest of these and have

33:37myself a cute little coaster set
