0:00hi everyone welcome back to my channel

0:01i'm sanya and for those of you who are

0:04new today i am currently interning in

0:06the united nations in vienna and through

0:09this channel i'm trying to share my

0:10experience living here how it how life

0:13is like in austria coming from pakistan

0:16and how i'm managing everything on my

0:18own

0:18so a lot of you guys requested me to

0:21share my motivation letter and my resume

0:23so this is what this video is going to

0:25be about before sharing my motivation

0:27letter and resume i just want to make it

0:29clear that i'm not an expert in writing

0:31a cover letter or a resume

0:33these are just the documents that i sent

0:35to the un application for my internship

0:38and

0:38this is what got me interviewing so

0:41i hope this helps you in some way

0:43because i remember when i was writing my

0:45motivation letter i was constantly

0:48looking for videos on youtube to get

0:50help from because

0:51i just didn't know where to start from

0:54so

0:54i hope this helps you and let's just

0:57jump right into the video

0:59i'm gonna walk you through the

1:00motivation letter paragraph by paragraph

1:03so let's start with the first line now

1:05in the start you have to write something

1:07like dear sir ma'am or you can also

1:10write to whom it may concern because you

1:12don't know who's gonna check your

1:14motivation letter so it's better to

1:16write something like that and then you

1:18start your motivation letter by telling

1:20what your current position is what you

1:22are doing at the moment so for me i was

1:25a recent graduate in business

1:27administration and i wrote down that i'm

1:29a graduate in bachelors of business

1:31administration and then i wrote down the

1:34university that i graduated from

1:36so if you are currently studying

1:38somewhere you write down the subject

1:41that you're studying and the name of the

1:42university and the same goes for people

1:45who are working somewhere you write down

1:47the position that you are doing and then

1:48you write down the name of the

1:50organization and then i said being a

1:52fresh graduate i'm looking for a job in

1:54the business sector because i graduated

1:57in business administration so i was

1:59looking for a job specifically in the

2:01business sector

2:04and then in the next paragraph

2:07so i feel like this is a very important

2:09thing that you should add in your letter

2:11so what i do is i write down the

2:13position that i'm applying for so for me

2:16it was like i was applying for the

2:17internship in division of budget and

2:19finance

2:20so i wrote this short paragraph about

2:23the position and then i said that i have

2:26attached all the documents that were

2:28required

2:29i feel like adding this small paragraph

2:31makes it easy for the recruiters to know

2:34what you're applying for so make sure

2:36that you add this paragraph

2:38then we head over to our next paragraph

2:44so in the third paragraph what you

2:46should do is you should start telling

2:48them what kind of skills you can

2:49contribute to the organization

2:51what will you learn from the internship

2:54you can mention some of the subjects

2:55that you studied that are relevant to

2:57the position that you're applying for

2:59and if you are a fresh graduate you can

3:01also say that you have a lot to learn so

3:05let's start this paragraph

3:07so i started the paragraph by saying

3:09that i have been dedicated to working

3:11hard at learning and that i would be

3:14very interested to get any experience

3:16that would allow me to learn more and

3:19then i say that getting this position

3:22will help me to grow and improve myself

3:24so this shows that you are willing to

3:26learn new things new skills new

3:28technologies because internship is all

3:31about learning they don't expect you to

3:32know everything so you are in the

3:35learning process and in the internship

3:37you learn a lot and then you can write

3:39something like i'm looking forward to

3:40getting responsibilities in your company

3:43this will show that you are ready to

3:44take on any challenges any

3:46responsibilities

3:48and then what i suggest you to do is try

3:50to relate the subjects that you have

3:52studied in your university with the

3:55position that you're applying for so for

3:57me because i was applying for a finance

4:00internship so i tried to include all

4:02those relevant subjects which i thought

4:04would be

4:05relevant for this position

4:07so i said that with a degree in business

4:10administration i have acquired knowledge

4:12of business and management and try to

4:14tell them what kind of skills you

4:16learned from those subjects so for me i

4:18wrote that i have quantitative

4:20analytical and problem solving skills

4:22because of these courses this will show

4:25that you do have knowledge of these

4:27subjects and that you can contribute

4:29whatever you learned from those subjects

4:31in the internship then i say i wish to

4:34bring my skills and knowledge to your

4:35company's innovative environment now

4:38here you can include any kind of skills

4:39that you have

4:41and then i say being a fresh graduate i

4:43have a lot to learn just like i told you

4:45before internship is all about learning

4:47and they expect you that you are willing

4:49to learn new skills new technologies new

4:52softwares

4:53so this is what i said that i have a lot

4:55to learn in the industry and i'm fully

4:56prepared to learn new technologies and

4:58skills

5:00now adding this line will show how

5:02motivated you are to learn new skills

5:03and technologies

5:06and then i say that i'm hoping to

5:07develop my soft skills because obviously

5:09when you're working in such a big

5:11organization

5:12you will learn soft skills like

5:14professional writing teamwork leadership

5:17management etc etc

5:20in the fourth paragraph i explained the

5:23position that i was doing at that time

5:25so i was working part-time with a

5:27us-based real estate company

5:30i tried my best to

5:32portray that position in a way which

5:34would help the recruiter know what kind

5:36of skills i learned from that position

5:38so i started by telling what my role was

5:41so i said i have been promoted from

5:43virtual lead assistant to virtual lead

5:45manager and then i told them what i used

5:48to do when i was a virtual lead

5:49assistant and what i used to do when i

5:51was a virtual lead manager so here you

5:53should write down all the work

5:54experiences that you have because it

5:56will show that you do know how to work

5:58in a team and that you do have a

6:00professional background before

6:02so what i suggest you to do is show what

6:04you got don't just tell

6:07now here you can see i mentioned

6:09something about crm which is customer

6:12relationship management now this tool is

6:14widely used in today's world which is

6:17like a technology for managing your

6:19company's relationships and interactions

6:21with your customers so this shows that i

6:23do have knowledge of the latest

6:25technologies and then i started telling

6:27them what my role was when i was a

6:29virtual lead manager now here i wrote

6:31down the responsibility that i had my

6:33responsibility was to call real estate

6:35agents and encourage them to work with

6:38us

6:38this shows my communication skills this

6:41shows that i do know how to talk with

6:43clients i do know how to interact with

6:46customers

6:47so what i'm trying to do is i'm trying

6:49to tell them what kind of skills i have

6:52by showing them what i used to do and

6:54then i say i handle more than 100 calls

6:56daily and also use email as a

6:58communication tool now here what i try

7:01to convey to them was that i do know how

7:03to send professional emails then i say

7:06calling agents on a regular basis has

7:08developed patience in me

7:10now adding this line shows that i am

7:11patient and that i can face any kind of

7:14situation if i go further down

7:18you can see that i added a few more

7:21lines related to the job

7:23you can see in this line i'm also adding

7:24another keyword which is b2b it stands

7:27for business to business this is another

7:29thing which is widely used in today's

7:31world b2b means transaction that takes

7:34place from one business to another

7:36so adding this line shows that i do have

7:38knowledge of b2b

7:42and then i say i have gained experience

7:44in working with a technology-oriented

7:45company and faced a lot of diversity now

7:48this shows that i do have experience in

7:50meeting people from all around the world

7:52and that i'm willing to work with people

7:54from everywhere irrespective of their

7:56religion race color etc fourth paragraph

7:59what i like to do is i like to add the

8:01extracurricular activities that i've

8:03done in the past i suggest you to write

8:05all the activities that you have done

8:07and try to relate those to the position

8:10that you're applying for so for example

8:12if you're a leader of your basketball

8:14team or if you were a leader of your

8:16management team add it in your letter

8:18this will show that you'll have

8:20leadership skills that you do know how

8:22to act as a leader even if you were not

8:24a leader and you were still part of a

8:27team

8:27at it this will show that you do know

8:30how to work in a team so for me i didn't

8:32have many activities but whatever i had

8:34i wrote in the letter if you have worked

8:36on different projects in your university

8:38you can also include that in the letter

8:40you can say that you were the team

8:42leader and you used to assign different

8:45tasks to everyone because this will show

8:47that you do have team management skills

8:50and you do know how to handle a team

8:52in the last paragraph i write down

8:55some stuff about the company what i do

8:58is i try to look for the company on

8:59google and i try to search for what

9:01they're doing and then i try to include

9:04that in the letter this will show that

9:06you already know what the company is

9:08doing so i said that i'm very motivated

9:10by the fact that your company is

9:12striving towards a sustainable future

9:14this line shows that i do know what the

9:16company works for what they're doing and

9:19this will show that you are interested

9:21in working in the company

9:23so i highly recommend you to read about

9:25the company first and then add something

9:27about it in your letter this will

9:29impress them this will show that you do

9:30know what they're doing and then you can

9:32say something like i'm very flexible i

9:34can work out of my comfort zone and then

9:36you can say something like i will work

9:38very hard i will be very responsible and

9:41i'm looking forward to

9:43become an intern in your company etc etc

9:46and

9:48and then in the last line i say that i'm

9:50very motivated while writing this letter

9:52and hope to become part of your company

9:55and then you say regards or kind regards

9:57warm wishes or whatever you want to

9:59write and you write down your name

10:02so this is my resume i am not a

10:04professional in creating resumes but

10:06this is what i sent to the un for my

10:08internship so as you can see i created a

10:11short description two three lines and

10:13then my personal details my email

10:15current location mobile number and

10:17linkedin account

10:19if you don't have a linkedin account i

10:21would highly recommend you to create one

10:23and this template that i used for the

10:25resume i made it on novorezume.com

10:29i will put the link on the screen and

10:32then you can see i put my education i

10:35just added the latest education of mine

10:37but you can obviously add your high

10:39school education if you want

10:42and then i added my personal projects i

10:45did these projects in my university

10:48and then my work experience my skills

10:51suggest you to always check the job

10:53description and job requirements first

10:55and then update your resume and cover

10:57letter accordingly

10:59for example if they want you to know

11:01microsoft excel microsoft word try to

11:04add those softwares in your skills

11:08and then i added the languages that i

11:09know and my interests this was it for

11:12today's video i hope it was helpful and

11:14please let me know in the comments if

11:16you would like me to make any kind of

11:17videos and i'll make it for you or if

11:20you guys have any questions feel free to
