0:02all right hello so I've been wanting to

0:05make this video for quite some time and

0:08I was thinking about how the best way to

0:09do this I just wanted to make a video to

0:11make it easier for everybody to make

0:13their music a little bit better or make

0:15it sound better within the actual

0:17program and a more realistic approach I

0:21would say so um forgive me I'm sick but

0:26I wanted to make this video and I

0:28thought let me make it on something that

0:30special to me I guess um I played this

0:33piece as an audition for college and it

0:37was actually accepted and had a full

0:39right scholarship for it so I thought

0:42might as well give it a

0:44shot so usually what happens here is uh

0:48when you get it from like M score.com

0:51the community website it's going to look

0:53something like this where it's going to

0:55say title things like that whatever um

0:58this may not be here this is the mixer

1:01but everything else is pretty much going

1:03to be the same so the first thing I

1:06usually do is um I'll go and I'll put it

1:09into a continuous horizontal

1:12view which you'll see is like it it's

1:16pretty zoomed in for me right now this

1:17is fine because I'm going to end up

1:19going around and messing with things

1:21messing with Dynamics to make it sound

1:23as good as I can Poss can um the person

1:27that originally like arranged this I

1:29guess they put a lot of dynamics that

1:31are hidden which is fine in terms of the

1:33mixer this is usually like my bread and

1:35butter kind of thing so uh in order to

1:39get it you have to go to view go down

1:41you hit mixer is

1:44F10 and uh it'll either pop up onto the

1:47right of your screen or it'll pop up on

1:49the bottom so for me I usually have it

1:52on my second Monitor and I mess it with

1:54it live while I'm messing with the music

1:57so I can understand how things are

1:58moving around

2:00um so for here I'll just pull it

2:05up

2:07so for the purpose of this video I'm not

2:10really going to mess with the Dynamics

2:11I'm just going to lower

2:13it lower the sizing this 25% you can see

2:17it on the top here and you can see the

2:19full

2:20mixer so generally what I I like to

2:23Showcase in this uh YouTube channel is

2:26the

2:28uh the samples of the miore program

2:31because I feel like they really outdid

2:33themselves and I would love to just

2:35showcase them as much as possible so

2:37hopefully more people get to see it more

2:39people that are working with it um you

2:43the more chance that other people come

2:44in to make the program

2:47better so usually I'll change all the

2:50sounds so that everything is in the Muse

2:52sounds programs everything already uh

2:56when it loads in it'll say on the bottom

2:58like around here uh loading audio

3:01symbols and that usually means that it's

3:04automatically picking up you know a

3:05flute one that means it's going to put

3:07the flute one uh Muse sounds stuff in

3:11and then from

3:12there uh I'll literally just go around

3:15and I I'll give like a test play to

3:18understand or engage where the piece is

3:21versus where I want it to be so I'll do

3:24that

3:28now

3:31[Music]

3:44[Music]

3:48that sounded really good but I feel like

3:51we could do

3:52better so what I'm going to start off

3:55with is um I'm going to kill all the

3:57Reverb on every single one of the the

3:59parts cu because I want to kind of

4:02blanket everything in the same Reverb

4:03and allow the instruments themselves

4:05symbols to adjust as they

4:10can so first thing I'll start off with

4:12is taking the Reverb off of everything

4:14and then I'll go to the master it'll go

4:16to Muse effects and then it hit

4:18Reverb and then you'll

4:20see oh you can't see it through the

4:22screen but uh the Muse score Reverb will

4:26pop out a little window and it'll stay

4:28it'll be like blue and it'll say Muse

4:30effects Reverb stuff like that and it'll

4:32come out as a staff pad or bright Hall

4:36dark hle all that stuff so I usually

4:38keep it in staff pad Hall just because

4:39it has the same kind of like echoey

4:43chamber that I want and I'd rather have

4:45it like that so I'll usually put the

4:47dial towards the

4:48middle and then I'll adjust it as I need

4:51it so right now the Dial's in the

4:54middle and then from there I'll do like

4:57one more small

4:58playback

5:02[Music]

5:17I thought that was pretty good but uh in

5:19case you didn't hear the difference or

5:21you didn't feel like it it was okay or

5:23you know you wanted more you could

5:25always go back to the bottom here and

5:27hit

5:27Reverb it'll open up the window in the

5:30middle or wherever you put it last and

5:32then you can up you can raise it or

5:34lower it as you want right now I'm

5:36keeping it straight in the in the middle

5:38still but if you want to hear it without

5:42you can just go over here to the side

5:43and it'll be a little power button you

5:45hit it turns it off you reverse it go

5:51[Music]

5:58back

6:00[Music]

6:07so I feel like it it's subtle enough

6:08right now that it's uh it's all right to

6:11pass so from there I'll generally go and

6:15uh I'll go into Muse effects and I'll do

6:17pro EQ which if you don't have these

6:20things you can get them all through the

6:22um the Muse Hub program when you

6:26download mcore 4 and everything's free

6:29it's all in the same

6:30program so just like uh the Reverb it's

6:34going to open a smaller window which I'm

6:36sorry you can't see it right now but

6:38it'll say Pro EQ and it'll say Muse

6:41Effects Pro EQ and then it usually

6:43starts out with pop vocals for some

6:44reason but I usually put it down to

6:47Strings which in the middle there will

6:49be a little thing that says pop vocals

6:53and you can actually click on it you

6:54don't have to do the uh the little

6:56arrows to the side and it'll go down and

6:59then it'll put a little drop down menu

7:01and you can choose which one you want so

7:02I usually keep it on strings and then

7:05I'll raise the low mids up to

7:07two uh positive two not negative two

7:10which it comes with and then from there

7:13I'll usually uh either replay it but I'm

7:15not going to do it right now usually at

7:17this point um I've gotten things down to

7:19science more or less so I'll start doing

7:22uh the panning for every single uh

7:25instrument so I generally like to keep

7:28the panning more into the European style

7:31of Orchestra

7:34so I'll put things kind of like a

7:36violent one on one side volume two on

7:38the other that's achiev by doing netive

7:4165 which will give you like almost a

7:44left pen but not a

7:47complete and then a positive 65 to pen

7:50to the right but not a complete

7:53pen so I'll generally put 45 for Vias

7:58and a 45 for for um the cellos that'll

8:02keep them towards the middle left and

8:04middle right and then I'll put the uh

8:08bases more or less behind the cellos

8:11just because that's usually where they

8:13sit but in this kind of format they're

8:16going to end up

8:17being more towards the

8:20middle so it'll help create a more round

8:23sound instead of putting them more onto

8:25one side and creating a lump sided

8:28sound the purpose of this is to kind of

8:31uh emulate what you're trying to listen

8:34to while you're in kind of like a big

8:37Hall you get me like my whole purpose is

8:40to

8:42create a kind of like soundscape area so

8:46when you listen to something it sounds

8:47like if you're listening in an actual

8:50Hall so from here I'll go in and I'll

8:55generally leave the harps or any kind of

8:57like pianos at a zero

8:59or any kind of like solo instrument so

9:02the violin is one has a

9:04solo in this piece the French horns and

9:09generally anything that's a wind

9:11instrument will be kept more to the left

9:13of the actual

9:16Orchestra so the French horns will

9:18probably put them around a

9:21wellish and then I'll move everything

9:24down so here I put kind of like a a step

9:28in between the horn and

9:30bassoon more just to like separate them

9:33so it's easier for people to discern and

9:36then I put a step in between all the

9:38woodwinds just to make sure that

9:39everybody has kind of like a a space for

9:42every for them to breathe you know what

9:43I

9:46mean from here you can start doing the

9:50uh Muse effects for every single one so

9:53you'll go down to where it says Pro

9:55EQ on the

9:57dropdowns and then you'll start doing um

10:00for Strings I'll keep it strings just as

10:03it is and then for the

10:08uh or generally any kind of like um horn

10:13or any kind of like brass instrument

10:15I'll go down to the music effects go

10:17into the pro eqs and then I'll put big

10:21band just because I feel like it has a a

10:23better rounder sound and it it generally

10:26mixes well with the uh strings Pro EQ

10:29for some for the other ones and then for

10:32the uh Woodwinds I'll generally go and

10:37do kind of like a

10:39uh into the Airy Woodwinds so now that

10:42that's done Al then uh double check make

10:45sure that everything's correct in terms

10:47of like the pro

10:48eqs and then I'll give the pie of

10:56[Music]

10:58listen

11:06[Music]

11:11[Music]

11:25so what happening here and I'm I'm sure

11:27you you found that pretty funny is uh

11:29the violing one

11:30solos or generally any kind of the solo

11:34samples for some reason will do this

11:36weird thing where um if they see any

11:39kind of like a a big

11:44jump generally like

11:46this it it'll treat it as like a slide

11:50for some reason but that it's just one

11:53of the many quirks of the new

11:57samples so for cases like this I'll

12:00either keep it on the solo or I'll move

12:04it down the Muse sounds into the violin

12:07one and see if it's any better otherwise

12:10I'll have to mess around with it and see

12:12if it actually works so we'll

12:20[Music]

12:27see

12:35[Music]

12:44[Music]

12:49all right so that's on a pretty much

12:53what I wanted but now we have a problem

12:56because now the violin one solo sounds

12:59like the violing ones and that's not

13:02what I want so in order to make this

13:05sound more singular I can go and I can

13:08take this off of the um the

13:11Reverb and I can just pour on the Reverb

13:15or I can just make it super super

13:18singular by putting it in a vocal

13:21booth and that'll make it sound way less

13:25in terms of a Reverb and mega sound

13:27different than the rest of the violent

13:29ones from there we can also do the

13:34uh kind of like the mixing for the

13:36volumes and balance everything out so in

13:39the

13:50beginning you can barely

13:53hear what's happening with a harp here

13:55but the harp is put at a piano

13:59so generally should be cutting through a

14:01lot of this stuff because everything

14:02else is out of panimo or

14:03[Music]

14:05pimo and a metop piano up here so it

14:09should be cutting a little bit more and

14:12this kind of happens later on if you

14:14want to check it later but generally you

14:17want to go into where the harps are and

14:19then you kind of want to raise them or

14:20lower them as you see

14:22fit I'm going to raise mine a little

14:25bit and then I'm just going to generally

14:27bring down the violin

14:30one bring up valin 2 a little

14:33bit I like a lot more

14:35violas the cellos can sometimes be

14:37overbearing and so can the faes this is

14:39a very touchy and delicate piece so I

14:41kind of want to take it off of there and

14:42bring it more into the high space plutes

14:45are always always louder than everything

14:48else and their tone and tber always cut

14:50do things so it's better to put them a

14:52little bit lower the alto flu is a

14:54little bit less but not always the same

14:57as the regular flu ones

14:59I generally just uh bring down a lot of

15:01the really really highs and not bring

15:05them down too much but I want their

15:06texture to mix very well instead of

15:09mixing kind of like a outside of the

15:12space I want more of a round rounded

15:14clear sound to have contrasting things

15:17in between the

15:27clarity

15:32[Music]

15:56[Music]

16:16[Music]

16:27for

16:30[Music]

16:44so we're here we're having a problem

16:46where uh the English horn is really

16:49really

16:50loud and it's getting in in the way of

16:54the actual solo piece so we need to

16:56bring them down kind of deal

16:59so we can either choose to do it here in

17:00the mixer or we can actually bring it

17:02down their stuff in the actual Dynamics

17:05now if it's your piece uh I would say do

17:10it at your leisure you know mess with

17:12whatever you want um if you're messing

17:15with a piece that you downloaded from uh

17:18mcore and you want to like keep it as

17:20much as possible to what they wrote then

17:24you know maybe you just mess with the

17:26mixer um but it's it's all up to you

17:28anyway um you can pour on more eqs and

17:32and things like that to really bring

17:33things out or you know pour more reverbs

17:36on to make things sound better it's all

17:39up into what you want to do

17:41actually and and it's all subjective

17:43honesty because it it's all about what

17:46you think sounds better this video is

17:48getting kind of long so I'm going to

17:49leave you with a couple tidbits of uh

17:52tips things to look out

17:55for um sometimes you'll see I don't

17:59think it happens in this piece because

18:00this was engrav pretty well but

18:02um sometimes you'll see like

18:05a something like this where uh the part

18:10will come in and it'll have like a piano

18:13right on it or like some sort of dynamic

18:17pretty much like right on where it

18:19starts and this can kind of sometimes it

18:22causes an issue with the playback system

18:25like here as well where uh the playback

18:27system will start reading things like a

18:29measure before or like a beat before or

18:31something like that and it'll see the

18:33piano but for some reason the program

18:36will screw up and it'll read as like a

18:37forte and it'll come in super loud or

18:41it'll leave super soft or stuff like

18:43that like Dynamic things happen all the

18:44time for some reason so the way to get

18:47around it is by uh basically just

18:51grabbing the dynamic and then taking it

18:54out and then going and uh putting it a

18:57little bit more to like just before it

19:00if you

19:01can so if you can put it towards like a

19:04b before things like that if it's on a

19:06rest before it it'll be much better so

19:10I'm not saying that it happens here like

19:12in this piece but it has happened to me

19:14before so I'd Rather somebody get it in

19:17this than have it find out in one of

19:20their pieces and then you know

19:23suck but I mean that that's pretty much

19:26it uh this is probably going to be the

19:28next piece that uh I upload and and put

19:31on the YouTube channel but I hope you

19:35guys found this uh insightful and I hope

19:37you guys uh you know enjoy this kind of

19:40stuff that I make um I enjoy making it

19:43so if you guys need help with anything

19:46else uh or have any ideas or things that

19:49you want me to like uh go over please

19:51let me know uh and thank you

19:55guys
