0:01Meet me in the book of Genesis, chapter

0:02number 6, verse number 8,

0:06verse number eight. And when you have

0:07it, say, "I got it." If you don't have

0:10it, don't worry. It's right here on the

0:11screen for you. The Bible says this,

0:13"But Noah

0:16found favor

0:19with the Lord."

0:22All right, let me say that again. Let's

0:23see if it's fresh church here. Um the

0:26book of Genesis chapter number 6 verse

0:29number 8 says but Noah

0:33found favor

0:36with the Lord. All right, that was your

0:39practice. Let's try this one more again

0:41for the people in the back. But Noah

0:45found favor. Y'all say favor

0:49with the Lord. I want to put a tag on

0:52this text and teach from this topic.

0:56What are you waiting for?

0:59What are you waiting for? What are you

1:03waiting for? What are you waiting for?

1:05You may have your seats in the house.

1:07What are you waiting for?

1:11What are you waiting for?

1:15Family, I I I want to say this from the

1:18outset.

1:19I am an avid reader.

1:23I mean, I I love to read. Like, I I it's

1:26it's in my blood. It's in my bones. I

1:29love to read. Now, here's the thing

1:31about me loving to read. It's getting me

1:34into an a problem in my household.

1:38So, if y'all will allow me to use this

1:41preaching moment as therapy because I

1:43need your help.

1:46I got issues. There are issues in the

1:49foster household and the issue stems

1:52from my love of reading. Here's the

1:55problem. The problem is I love reading

1:57so much. Not just digital books. I think

1:59that's cool because I understand how

2:01important, you know, it is and how

2:03accessible it is to have all the books

2:04on your little scrolling device and

2:07click and all that good stuff. But I

2:09don't like that. I'm not I'm old school.

2:12I I like to smell the book.

2:16I

2:16>> I like to feel the pages.

2:19>> I like the sound of the pages flipping.

2:22>> No, no. See, y'all new school.

2:25>> Y'all didn't come to church with a

2:26Bible.

2:30>> Y'all digital like me sometimes.

2:32But I love I love to read and I love

2:35pages. Let me tell you something. To the

2:37degree that a star uh uh not Starbucks,

2:39but a Barnes & Nobles hate to see me

2:41coming.

2:43We can't even if we're driving and the

2:45family's in the car and we're driving

2:46next to Barn by Barnes & Noles. I'm

2:48stopping. They already know we're going

2:50in. I'm I'm going to look at the books,

2:52grab a book. I got this idea of this

2:54picture. Ju just roll with me for a

2:56minute. But I love books so much uh

2:59since it's causing problems in the

3:01foster household. And here's the

3:03problem. The problem that is causing in

3:04the foster household is that I'm leaving

3:06books everywhere.

3:09I I got books on the kitchen counter. I

3:13got books in the driver's seat of her

3:15car. I got the books in my car. I got

3:17books on the bed. I got books in the

3:19living room. I have books in the foyer.

3:22I got books everywhere that it's it's

3:24causing a problem. And Pastor Sonia's

3:26fed up.

3:28So y'all pray for your pastor. So she

3:30got so fed up to the point that she

3:32said, "Here's what we're going to do."

3:34Say, "What are we going to do?" She

3:35said, "I am getting you a bookcase

3:39somewhere to house all of these books."

3:43I said, "Okay, cool." Then I had a

3:44picture in my mind about what I wanted

3:46the bookcase to look like because I have

3:48I have this Go with me. If maybe if you

3:49watch the movie and you've seen maybe a

3:51professor or something. You see like

3:52this just just elaborate library that

3:55you walk into and it has books

3:57everywhere all over and it even has like

3:59the little ladder that you slide down

4:01the thing and then you climb up like I

4:03want to climb up bookcase. That's a I

4:05was like, I want one of those. And so we

4:07went uh searching websites and all this

4:09good stuff to try and get a uh find a

4:11bookcase. So I couldn't afford the

4:13ladder bookcase.

4:16Couldn't really get that one. Not yet.

4:18But so we we found a bookcase that

4:20works, right? We got it. We put it here

4:22in our office and all that good stuff.

4:24And the bookcase is one that while it's

4:26not the latter bookcase, it is one that

4:28we can add to, right? So it's a bookcase

4:32with vision in mind. I got vision for

4:34the bookcase. So, I'm like, "Hey, so let

4:35me get the bookcase. That way, if I want

4:37to add to it, I can get another

4:38component to it and then put the books

4:40because I need all of my books. I need I

4:42don't need this digital thing. I need to

4:43smell all of the books."

4:47So, I go online. I'm clicking through.

4:49Uh, after about two weeks of searching,

4:51I find the bookcase. I got it. This the

4:56one I I I found the one that's going to

4:59work for me. Get the bookcase. I say,

5:01"Okay, let me click on it. Pay whatever

5:03it was, arm and a leg." Amen. Get the

5:05bookcase.

5:08So, I clicked on the picture, got the

5:09bookcase. They sent me bookcase. They

5:12sent a notification on uh uh UPS or

5:16whatever, and they said that it has been

5:18delivered. I got excited. I don't know

5:20about you, but I'm one of those people

5:21that order something and then

5:23immediately check on whether or not it's

5:25there. Am I the only one you order

5:28something from Amazon? Like, did they

5:29ship it yet?

5:31It's still pending.

5:35So that's me. So I get there. I get the

5:37thing. I'm at the house. She says, "Your

5:40bookcase has arrived." I rush and get to

5:43the front door to get the bookcase and

5:45find out that my bookcase is not there.

5:50>> My bookcase is not there, but there is

5:53about seven or eight boxes on my porch.

5:58Now I got a problem.

6:04I got a problem because

6:07I went online because I wanted the

6:10bookcase that I can add to because I got

6:12a ladder picture in my mind because I

6:15want to put the ladder on the bookcase

6:16and climb up the ladder, find the book,

6:18come down, tell you what page something

6:20is on that's in I got I got but they

6:22they didn't send me the bookcase. They

6:25sent me boxes.

6:28And I said, "Where's the bookcase?" And

6:31she said, "It's right there on the

6:32porch." I said, "I didn't order that."

6:35She said, "Yes, you did." I said, "No,

6:37no, no, no, no. I ordered this." Showed

6:38her the picture. She said, "No, you

6:40think you ordered that, but this is

6:42that."

6:44Oh, you think I'm talking about IKEA?

6:47>> I'm talking about your ideas.

6:51Because often times God gives us, God

6:53shows us a picture, but then sends us

6:56parts.

6:57[Music]

7:00[Applause]

7:04Sometimes what God does is he sends us

7:07pictures and then he he shows us a

7:10picture and then sends us parts. A

7:13picture is God's preference. It's what

7:16God desires to do. It's what God wants

7:19to do. It's what God is longing to do.

7:22But the parts are the things that God

7:24sends us that we have to participate in.

7:27so that we can see God's preference

7:29invade our present reality. Just just

7:32because it's God's preference doesn't

7:35mean it's automatic.

7:41>> The picture is the finished product.

7:46>> The parts are the painful process.

7:51>> The picture is the happy marriage.

7:54>> Uhoh. The parts is mutual submission.

8:02>> Okay, let me go here. The picture is the

8:05PhD.

8:07>> The parts is the late nights, research

8:10papers,

8:11>> and assignments due.

8:13>> I'll come get you. The picture is the

8:16promotion.

8:17>> The parts is the overtime and the extra

8:19hours

8:20>> and doing other people's work.

8:25I'll keep coming. The picture is the

8:28ministry.

8:31>> The parts is how you deal with

8:33disloyalty

8:35>> and betrayal.

8:37>> The picture is the successful

8:40entrepreneurial endeavor.

8:43>> The parts is the daily pressure that

8:46it's all on you.

8:49I'm not done. The picture is emotional

8:53health.

8:54The parts is where you sit on somebody's

8:57couch and do the work

9:00>> to heal from the hurt. Don't just ignore

9:04it. Just because it's numb don't mean

9:06it's healed.

9:13>> I'm not done. I'm an equal opportunity

9:15offender.

9:19The picture is a healthy life. The parts

9:23is the daily exercise,

9:26>> the nutrition,

9:28>> the discipline.

9:29I'm skipping past this. Let's go to

9:31something else.

9:33I've discovered, y'all, I discovered

9:36that we don't have a problem with the

9:38picture. The picture isn't the issue.

9:41The p the problem is the parts.

9:45We we've uncorrectly or I'm sorry,

9:48incorrectly interpreted God sending us

9:51parts and we're putting it in the wrong

9:54place. Here's what I want to suggest.

9:56When God doesn't give us a readymade

9:59picture, it's a sign uh or let me say it

10:02like this. When God doesn't give us a

10:04ready-made picture, it's not a sign of

10:07torment. It's a sign of trust.

10:12When God

10:14does not give you everything you think

10:18you need in order to do something, it's

10:21not that God is tormenting you or

10:24punishing you. It's actually that God

10:26trusts you. What do you mean, pastor? I

10:29mean faith is I'm sorry. Favor is not

10:32simply God liking me. Favor is when God

10:37trusts me.

10:38[Music]

10:41Oh God, this is so good. Favor is not

10:44simply when God is liking me. Favor is

10:47when God is trusting me. And you know

10:50when God trusts you. Oh God, look at

10:53your neighbor and say, "This is about to

10:54get good."

10:55>> Just tell them this. You know that God

10:59trusts you when he sends you parts that

11:02he didn't send somebody else,

11:04>> but he still expects you to build what

11:07he's called you to build.

11:11Trust is uh you watch this. You not

11:14having everything you think you need is

11:16not God tormenting you. You not having

11:20it is God bragging on you. He's saying,

11:23"Watch my boy do it without it. Watch my

11:26girl do it without it." They don't need

11:29that when they got me. Look at somebody

11:31and say, "I got Jesus on my side."

11:33What's wrong with you?

11:37So when I'm trying to help us reframe.

11:40So when God doesn't send us something

11:43that we think we need in order to do

11:45something,

11:46>> God is not tormenting us. He's trusting

11:49us. He's trusting us that we can build

11:52what he's called us to build without

11:54what we think we need.

11:57>> Now you can either Uh oh. Oh my. I

12:00didn't say this at nine o'clock. I think

12:02I'm in trouble now. Now you can either

12:05pout about what you don't have

12:08or you can praise God for what he did

12:10send.

12:12And I wish I Lord this I don't know I

12:15wish I had about 15 people that can say

12:18my season of pouting over what I thought

12:20I needed is over. God, you've given me

12:24everything I need to accomplish what God

12:27has called me to. Is there anybody in

12:30here that can say, "I've got everything

12:33I need?"

12:35>> Because uh-oh, favor is more

12:38comprehensive than a single blessing.

12:41[Applause]

12:44>> I got to come get you as we close out

12:45this favor. FA a blessing specifically

12:49speaks to something in an area. Nothing

12:51wrong with the blessing. I want to be

12:52blessed. Amen.

12:54>> Favor is more comprehensive. Favor is

12:58millions of blessings.

13:01>> So when the Bible the Bible the Bible

13:03Lord I'm ahead of myself but when the

13:05Bible says that Noah found favor with

13:08God that don't mean that he just got a

13:12blessing financially.

13:14Doesn't mean that he just got some cool

13:16people around him. It doesn't mean that

13:18he just got a little bit of influence

13:20and a little bit of impact. It means all

13:22of that and then some. Now, I know you a

13:25shout over a blessing. And if I was

13:28promising you a car, a crib, or some

13:30clothes, you'll be turning these chairs

13:32up, pulling your neighbor clean off. But

13:35I wonder if there's anybody in here that

13:37can say, "God, thank you for the favor

13:40that rest on my life, that I've gotten

13:43approvals when I should have got

13:44denials. That I got acceptances when I

13:47should have got rejections. that I've

13:49gotten a Is there anybody in here on

13:52this welcome home that can say favor

13:54over my life? Favor got me feeling

13:57fresh. Favor got me feeling new. Favor

14:01all over my life. Favor is all over you.

14:07>> Somebody shout favor.

14:09>> Favor.

14:10>> Noah found favor

14:13>> wi with God. Favor is not simply God

14:15liking me. It's God trusting me.

14:18Because

14:20uh God God Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Um uh I would

14:28rather be in a position where God can

14:32trust me.

14:34No. No. So, so when I say trust me, that

14:36doesn't mean that I'm perfect.

14:39That means that he knows where my heart

14:40is turned towards.

14:43Yeah. Yeah. That that that doesn't mean

14:45I'm perfect. That means he knows where

14:48my heart is turned. Oh, okay. I'll get

14:50to the text in a moment. I promise you I

14:52didn't get to say this at 9:30. 9:30. If

14:54y'all y'all should have came to 11:00,

14:56y'all at the Rome.

14:59Uh it doesn't mean that I'm perfect.

15:03It means uh that he trusts me. Because

15:07when I have favor over my life, there's

15:10still struggles that I have. Right now,

15:13watch this. This is interesting. I want

15:15to show you the difference. I was

15:16talking to somebody today uh yesterday

15:17about this. I want to show you different

15:19the difference between pigs. Pigs and

15:22sheep. Okay, pigs and sheep. Pigs uh

15:27they enjoy dirt.

15:30So when something is on a pig, they jump

15:33on the ground. They wallow around to get

15:35more on them. They like mud. Okay. Sheep

15:41um are different because sheep when they

15:45get something on them on their coat,

15:48guess what they do? They get on the

15:50ground and they wallow around too. So

15:54now this is interesting. You got pigs on

15:56the ground wallowing around and loving

15:58it. Sheep on the ground wallowing around

16:01and trying to get it off of them.

16:07If I don't have a discerning eye, I can

16:08think that everybody that's wallowing

16:10has the same heart.

16:16>> Some people are in some mud and they

16:18love it. Others of us are in mud and we

16:21trying to get out of it. Look at your

16:24neighbor and say, "At least I'm trying

16:25to get out. You ain't

16:28I ain't happy in it.

16:35Woo. Look, I preach the perfect people

16:37next service. Is there anybody that can

16:39say there's been some seasons where I've

16:42done some things I didn't even want to

16:44do. But God, thank you for your grace

16:46and your mercy to help me get up. I was

16:49sinking deep in sin, far from the

16:53peaceful shore, very deeply, stayed

16:57within, seeking to rise no more. God the

17:01master God of the sea. He had

17:06[Applause]

17:10>> from the water.

17:12>> He lifted me.

17:14>> I'm so glad that he lifted me. There

17:17were some seasons I wasn't strong enough

17:18to lift myself up out of it, but he

17:21lifted me. There were some times I found

17:23myself in other people bed I shouldn't

17:25have been in. Oh God, but thank you for

17:27lifting me. There were some seasons you

17:29was drunk, high, and all of the above.

17:32Oh, but God lifted you. Y'all ain't

17:34going to say nothing. There was some

17:35times you had an overnight bag and a

17:37plan already made. Oh, but God, is there

17:40anybody that can say, "Thank you for

17:42lifting me. Thank you for lifting me.

17:44Thank you for lifting me. I'm no longer

17:46what I used."

17:50>> Somebody stand up and sit back and say,

17:52"He lifted me. He lifted me.

17:55[Applause]

18:02God.

18:04>> Noah found faith

18:07>> with God. Because favor, I'm sorry,

18:10found favor with God. Favor is not

18:12simply God liking me. It's when God is

18:14trusting me. God God can God God God

18:19will not use a person that he doesn't

18:23trust.

18:25He He's not in the business. You You

18:26don't do that either. All a person got

18:28to do is show you one time.

18:31Amen.

18:32Anybody got a heavy cancel game, cut off

18:35game? It's just strong. Hallelujah. I

18:38mean, hallelujah.

18:41>> My God.

18:43Noah found favor. In our text, it's

18:46interesting in our text. God God tapped

18:48Noah on the shoulder and gave him an

18:51assignment. Now, now I'm I'm going to

18:52attempt to to to uh dig in this well uh

18:57and pull out something maybe we haven't

18:59necessarily pulled out before. I don't

19:01know. Hopefully, we'll see. Uh but this

19:03is interesting. This is this isn't Noah

19:05and the flood as you might have known

19:07it. Uh we're going to try and take a

19:09nuance to it. But I want to show you

19:10something in the text. Uh the Bible says

19:12this in Genesis chapter number 6 verse

19:14number 9 and 10. It says this. Uh this

19:16is the account of Noah and his family.

19:19Noah was a righteous man.

19:23The only, Lord have mercy, blameless

19:26person

19:28living on the earth at the time. Wow.

19:31He's the only person in scripture that

19:33got that title right there.

19:34>> And he walked, here we go, in close

19:37fellowship with God.

19:40>> Noah was the father of three sons, Shim,

19:43Ham, and Japheth. This is so important.

19:46Watch this. Now God saw that the earth

19:48had become corrupt and was filled with

19:52violence.

19:54Wait a minute. Hold on. Now God saw that

19:56the earth had become corrupt and was

19:58filled with violence. God observed

20:03all this corruption in the world. For

20:06everyone, y'all say everyone.

20:08>> Everyone

20:09>> on earth

20:10>> was corrupt. Contextually,

20:14let's deal with let me give you a little

20:15context so that you can respect the

20:17content. Contextually, sin has seeped

20:19into societal to the societal psyche.

20:23Sin has seeped into the societal psyche.

20:28Evil is everywhere. People are

20:30perishing. Injustice is apparent. Racism

20:33is running deep. Violence is their

20:35native tongue. Vengeance has a grip on

20:37their heart. Idolatry is imminent.

20:40Prejudice is permeating their minds.

20:42This sounds like America.

20:49>> Did this this sounds like America?

20:54Hold on. Hold on. It's almost as if the

20:56Bible is relevant, right? It's almost as

20:59if this this this author and finisher

21:02kind of knew what he was inspiring to be

21:04written because we're living in a time

21:06just this week alone.

21:09You see all kind of violence,

21:12>> senseless murder,

21:14>> senseless killing,

21:16>> selective saints with selective outrage.

21:19I'll talk about it.

21:22>> Oh yeah. Oh yeah. My heart mourns for

21:26those who have who who the families of

21:28those who have been senselessly killed.

21:31That's ridiculous.

21:32>> I'll get to the text in a moment. Y'all

21:34roll with me for a minute. It's welcome

21:35home Sunday. Give me a little pastoral

21:37privilege here. Here it is. My heart

21:40mourns for them.

21:43There's one one individual uh live

21:46stream

21:48violent lost his life. Two kids, a wife,

21:53a family. Come on.

21:56At the same time,

21:59I'm trying to figure out how is it that

22:02my brothers and sisters

22:05in the body are selectively outraged and

22:10outspoken

22:12about somebody that is senselessly

22:15killed

22:16that aligns with their political agenda.

22:21But when another person of color is

22:24senslessly killed at the hands of the

22:27police or any other entity is silence of

22:30the lambs.

22:31>> Now I got a question.

22:35[Applause]

22:36[Music]

22:38If we supposed to be brothers and

22:40sisters in Christ,

22:42>> how come your your your your your video,

22:45your phone, your live stream, it works

22:48when somebody that looks like you is

22:50hurt?

22:51>> But when somebody that looks like me is

22:53injured, it's Silence of the Lambs.

22:56>> So then that means there's two

22:58Christianities.

22:59[Music]

23:01There's one that mourns with those who

23:04mourn

23:05>> and then there's other who mourns with

23:07those who look like them.

23:11>> Contextually, cuz I want to be true to

23:12the text. All of this is happening.

23:18>> And here we are. Here we are in the

23:21text.

23:22>> All of this is happening. We got people

23:25mad

23:27and and and and donating money.

23:31George Floyd died.

23:34>> Silence of the Lambs.

23:35[Music]

23:37>> They they they they donating resources

23:39and and and and and sending resources

23:42and sending influence and uh uh Bana

23:45Taylor

23:48>> um Silence of the Lambs.

23:51I I'm I'm trying to figure out are you a

23:55Christian

23:57or not?

24:01Let me get back to the text.

24:03>> I'll get back. We're going to shout in a

24:05moment.

24:06>> I'm just asking questions that the

24:08people want to know.

24:10>> Inquiring minds are wondering, have you

24:13whitewashed Christianity to the degree

24:17that you don't understand?

24:19Y'all here? Yeah,

24:21>> I'm going get to the text that you don't

24:24understand that Christianity can't be

24:26whitewashed

24:28because the newest Christians are not

24:32black.

24:36Can I get to the text? I got to ask for

24:38permission cuz she know I'll go there.

24:42Cuz when you start thinking about

24:43Tertullian and all the church fathers

24:45who were northern Africans, that means

24:48you never brought us Christianity.

24:51How could you bring us something we

24:52already had before we got on the boat?

24:54>> We've been had

24:57>> y'all better stop believing these Hebrew

24:58Israelite. Devil is a liar.

25:01[Music]

25:02>> We were in Africa. I'm sorry. Africa.

25:07I'm sorry. We We had Jesus then. Yeah,

25:11>> I don't have time, but if I had time,

25:13I'll tell you about the Ethiopian unic

25:16>> and how it is he had an encounter and

25:18whether you think he went after he had

25:20his encounter. He went back to Ethiopia

25:22and

25:24>> told the Queen of Sheba,

25:28>> you you didn't you didn't you didn't

25:30give us Christianity.

25:32>> You gave us a perverted version of

25:34Christianity.

25:36>> You ripped out pages of the Bible in

25:38Exodus.

25:41Let me get back to all of this was

25:43happening in the text

25:46>> contextually.

25:47This is happening and uh and in the

25:50midst of all of that, the Bible says

25:52verse number eight that Noah found favor

25:55with the Lord. Favor, I'll give it to

25:58you for the night time. Favor is God's

26:00approval, God's acceptance, and God's

26:03acceleration.

26:05Favor is when God says yes.

26:08Favor is when God says you and favor is

26:11when God says now.

26:14So here it is. Uh the Bible says this.

26:18So verse number six, I got to run. Verse

26:19number 13 says this. So God said to

26:21Noah, I have decided to destroy all

26:23living cre destroy all living creatures

26:25for they have filled the earth with

26:26violence. Yes, I will wipe all of them

26:29out along with all everything on the

26:31earth. Right? Okay. So this is God

26:33talking. So God ain't playing.

26:37So, so God uh explained the current

26:40state of the world and the very next

26:42thing that he told Noah to do was to

26:44build something. Okay, this is extremely

26:46important. The first thing he wants Noah

26:48to do, write this down. I think it's

26:49worth writing. He's he's he's

26:50encouraging Noah to build something

26:53that's waterproof.

26:55Yeah. Build something that's waterproof.

26:57Verse number 14 says this, "Build a

26:59large boat of cypress wood and

27:01waterproof it with tar inside and out."

27:04All right. So the flood, stay with me,

27:06stay with me, great class. The flood in

27:08Genesis 6 is an inevitable disruption.

27:12The flood is an inevitable disruption

27:15that any human cannot control. Right? So

27:20the flood in Genesis 6 can represent an

27:23economic downturn,

27:26job layoffs, crisis, recession,

27:30famine.

27:32God tells Noah, "Build something that's

27:37famine proof."

27:39[Music]

27:41>> He

27:44Okay. The ark was not just the boat. The

27:48ark was a blueprint.

27:52He's telling Noah, "Build something that

27:57can serve as a template, a blueprint

28:00that will sustain your entire family."

28:04Now, Noah, I need you to do this before

28:07it starts raining.

28:12>> Okay? Yeah. Yeah. I I need you to build

28:16it before it rains. Um um here's why I

28:21need you to build it. I need you to

28:22build it before it rains because God

28:24wants to God wants to do something

28:27through you, not just to you.

28:30>> He's saying, "Noah, if you do what I'm

28:32asking you to do, you won't only be reap

28:35the benefits.

28:37The people you're connected to will reap

28:39the benefits

28:41>> of the blueprint I'm giving you."

28:47All right. So, your God-given identity

28:50or your God-given idea isn't just for

28:53you to get from one place to the next.

28:56It's a template for your family

28:58>> to get from one place to the next.

29:02Somebody say

29:03>> waterproof.

29:04>> He said build something that's

29:05waterproof. In other words, build

29:07something before the storm come because

29:08a storm is coming. I want you to hear me

29:10prophetically because a storm is coming.

29:13And when the storm comes, it's too late

29:14to start building.

29:16>> So Noah, go ahead and build right now.

29:18Let them think you crazy now. Let them

29:20think something wrong with you now.

29:22Build it now because a storm coming.

29:25>> All right, I got to run. I got to run

29:27cuz I want to get to one thing. And

29:29we're going to run up out of here and

29:30get something to eat. They got some good

29:31food back there. Somebody say mac and

29:33cheese. It's

29:34>> Hallelujah.

29:36>> Hallelujah.

29:37>> Oh God, we bless you tonight.

29:40Oh, hallelujah. Sha.

29:43Oh, God.

29:45I felt that for real.

29:48I quickened.

29:50Number two, uh, he says this, "Build it

29:53how I told you with the parts I gave

29:56you."

29:58I want y'all to hear me. Don't just hear

30:00me as if I'm preaching Noah. I'm

30:02preaching you.

30:04Build it how I told you with the parts I

30:07gave you. Watch this. Verse number 14.

30:10This is what he says. Watch. Watch. God.

30:12God, this is so good. Build a large boat

30:14from cypress wood and waterproof it with

30:17tar inside and out. Deconstruct the

30:20decks and the stalls throughout its

30:21interior. Make the boat 450 ft long, 75

30:24ft wide, 45 ft high. Leave an 18in

30:28opening below the roof all around the

30:30boat. Put the door on the side and build

30:33three decks in the inside of the boat. A

30:34lower, a middle, and an upper.

30:38He says, "Build it with the parts I told

30:43you to."

30:45Now, the reason you didn't shout is

30:48because I didn't tell you this. I didn't

30:51tell you, and I should have. It was bad

30:53on my part. I didn't tell you that

30:58there's a difference between an ark and

31:01a boat.

31:05A boat is not an ark

31:10>> and an ark

31:12is not a boat.

31:14>> What do you mean, pastor? Cuz I went to

31:16Sunday school and they told me in Sunday

31:18school, Noah built a boat. And that's

31:21one translation. And there's some

31:23translations of scripture where they use

31:24boat. But boat is not a proper

31:26translation of that particular word. And

31:29boat is not an ark. Why is that? Why is

31:32that important? An ark was not built for

31:35travel.

31:39>> Okay, let me make it plain. A boat is

31:42what you row in. An ark is what you rest

31:46in.

31:48[Music]

31:52>> An ark wasn't designed for

31:55transportation.

31:57It was designed for preservation.

32:04A boat. Lord have mercy. I'm about to

32:06get happy off a boat. A boat is designed

32:09for speed,

32:11>> but an ark is designed for sustaining.

32:16>> Oh god. I'm going to say this and I'm

32:18getting up out of here. I promise you. A

32:21boat needs a human to steer it. An ark

32:28is steered by heaven.

32:31>> Lord have mercy.

32:34And the problem the problem I'm sorry.

32:36The problem is that many of us, we've

32:39been working too hard on a boat. We've

32:42been working and striving too hard on

32:44the boat. And God says, "I never called

32:46you to build a boat. I called you to

32:48rest in an ark. I am the ark." Jesus

32:51said,

32:54>> "So that when the storms of life come,

32:58you don't have to roll your way out. You

33:00can rest your way out. Rest in me, God.

33:08>> I got to get out of here. My time is

33:10almost up." A boat, watch this. A boat

33:14signifies or is indicative of active

33:18participation. Y'all say active.

33:20When you're on the boat, you got to be

33:22very active.

33:24>> And you ain't going nowhere, right? When

33:26you're on the boat, you have to be very

33:28active. All right. So, so if I'm taking

33:30notes, I'm writing boat and then I'm

33:32doing like a little hyphen, little M

33:34dash like they do on chat GPT. When

33:36y'all be

33:39copy and pasting in Facebook,

33:42trying to make it seem like y'all sound

33:43smart. I see that M dash in there. You

33:45ain't right there. The boat. The boat.

33:49um is active. Y'all say active.

33:52>> Active.

33:52>> Okay. Um the ark is passive. Y'all say

33:56passive.

33:57>> Passive.

33:57>> I told you I want to turn the corner.

33:59What if it's a it's a significant or

34:03symbol of what it means to either live

34:06on active income or passive.

34:15When I live on active, that means I only

34:19can live off of what I work for.

34:20>> Yes, sir.

34:21>> I got to work for my money.

34:23>> Yes, sir.

34:24>> When Let me say it again.

34:25>> When I live on active, I got to work for

34:29my money.

34:30>> When I live in passive in the ark, my

34:34money works for me.

34:38And one of the ways you can rest in the

34:40ark is when you get to a place to where

34:44you're so rested in God that the things

34:47that you used to worry about when you

34:49were rowing when you had to work, when

34:51you had to strive, when you you're able

34:55to rest now and say, "I'm resting in

34:58God. God is going to take care of that.

35:00I'm going to sleep."

35:03You're able to say, "God is going to

35:04take care of them. I'm going to sleep."

35:07You're able to say, "God blessed me when

35:09he let them come into my life, and God,

35:12you blessed me when you let them walk

35:13out."

35:15Look at somebody and say, "I'm resting

35:17in the ark." I'm resting in the ark. I'm

35:21got to get out of here. Lord have mercy.

35:24I think I'm done when I tell you this.

35:26Um uh Lord Oh, God. That's my time.

35:30Jesus Christ.

35:34A boat is a vessel for transportation.

35:36An ark is a vessel for preservation.

35:39This is extremely important. I need you

35:41to get this. I need you to get this.

35:42Watch this. I'm done when I tell you

35:43this. Verse number 17. Look. He says,

35:46"I'm about to cover the earth with a

35:48flood." Y'all say flood.

35:49>> Flood

35:50>> that will destroy every living thing

35:53that breathes. Watch this. Everything on

35:56earth will die. Come on.

35:59>> God is not playing.

36:01>> Watch this though. Watch this. Verse

36:03number 18.
