1:13level one yeah we're starting with a

1:16very basic simple sentence you can say

1:19it with me or you can pause the video

Episode 1 ✅

1:22and repeat after me ready a man opens a

1:27bank account again a man opens a bank

1:33account okay I think we all probably

1:36know what this means right we have a guy

1:39a man a male okay an adult man he opens

1:44a bank account yeah he goes to a bank he

1:47opens an account I guess he wants to

1:50start using this Bank let's see what

1:53happens next level two once again you

1:56can say this with me or pause the video

1:59and repeat heat out loud a man opens a

2:03bank account to save money again a man

2:08opens a bank account to save money ah

2:13okay now we know now we know why he is

2:18opening the bank account right he's

2:20opening the bank account to save money

2:24in order to save money in order to have

2:28some Savings in order to save up some

2:31money these all mean the same thing

2:33let's say level two one more time ready

2:36a man opens a bank account to save money

2:40level three here we go getting a little

2:43bit more difficult now repeat after me

2:46or say it with me here we go a man opens

2:50a bank account to save money for his

2:54future ah okay now we know why he is

2:58saving money he is is saving money for

3:01his future he wants to make sure that

3:05his future self him in the future has

3:09enough money yeah he has an option right

3:13he could spend all of his money today

3:16and tomorrow have none or he can spend

3:19less today and tomorrow have more let's

3:22say this one more time say it with me or

3:25pause and repeat out loud a man opens a

3:29bank account to save money for his

3:33future level four getting even trickier

3:36now a man opens a bank account to save

3:40money for his future and plans to invest

3:45ah okay one more time a man opens a bank

3:49account to save money for his future and

3:52plans to invest okay we have an and here

3:56telling us that he's not just Sav money

4:00for his future yeah he has two reasons

4:04why he's opening this account the first

4:07one is he's saving money for his future

4:10the second reason is he's planning to

4:13invest what does that mean that means he

4:17wants to grow his money right maybe he

4:20wants to invest in the stock market

4:23maybe he wants to invest in a certain

4:26company okay he's looking for a smart

4:29way a long-term way to grow his money

4:34right much like growing a plant in the

4:37garden he wants to take the money he has

4:40and grow it bigger by investing let's

4:44say this one more time level four a man

4:47opens a bank account to save money for

4:50his future and plans to invest okay

4:54great job level five getting even more

4:58complex say it with me or pause and

5:02repeat a man opens a bank account to

5:05save money for his future and plans to

5:09invest in the stock market one more time

5:13a man opens a bank account to save money

5:17for his future and plans to invest in

5:21the stock market okay remember in level

5:25four we were sort of

5:28contemplating we were sort of thinking

5:31about wondering about where he's going

5:34to invest his money how he's going to

5:37invest his money right what is going to

5:40be his Avenue right what is going to be

5:44his Avenue for investing his money well

5:47now we know in the stock market now we

5:51know

5:53specifically how he's going to invest

5:56his money okay we have our how so let's

5:59say this one more time before we move on

6:02a man opens a bank account to save money

6:06for his future and plans to invest in

6:09the stock market level six we're getting

6:12really serious now guys okay let's take

6:15a look at this a man opens a bank

6:19account to save money for his future and

6:22plans to invest in the stock market to

6:25grow his

6:26wealth wow it's getting to be quite the

6:30mouthful quite the mouthful what does

6:33that mean that means it's a little bit

6:35difficult to say especially in one

6:38breath right let's try one more time a

6:41man opens a bank account to save money

6:45for his future and plans to invest in

6:48the stock market to grow his wealth okay

6:51great what does this mean grow your

6:54wealth wealth is just money right it's

6:57the money you have he wants to grow his

7:01wealth he wants to

7:03increase okay increase his wealth by

7:07investing in the stock market so sounds

7:10like this guy is taking his future very

7:13seriously let's say this one more time

7:16in one breath ready a man opens a bank

7:19account to save money for his future and

7:22plans to invest in the stock market to

7:24grow his wealth wow that was pretty

7:27quick are you guys keeping up with me if

7:30you find my speed to be a little bit

7:33fast you can pause the video Try saying

7:35it yourself at your own speed okay let's

7:39level up again level seven say it with

7:42me or repeat after me ready a man opens

7:46a bank account to save money for his

7:49future and plans to invest in the stock

7:52market to grow his

7:53wealth and Achieve Financial

7:57stability wow I had to take a breath in

8:00the middle of that because now this

8:04single sentence is getting to be such a

8:07big super sentence that I can't say the

8:10whole thing in one breath let's try it

8:12again are you ready a man opens a bank

8:16account to save money for his future and

8:19plans to invest in the stock market to

8:22grow his wealth and Achieve Financial

8:27stability okay let's take a look at the

8:29blue part what are we adding to this

8:31sentence okay so we know that he's

8:34investing we know where he's investing

8:37in the stock market we know why he's

8:39investing to grow his wealth but now we

8:42know a second why there's the first why

8:45to grow his wealth here's the second why

8:48he wants to Achieve Financial

8:52stability that's a pretty complicated

8:55expression right Achieve Financial

8:59stability stability okay achieve if you

9:04achieve

9:05something then you get something

9:08done okay for example here on my YouTube

9:13account I have achieved the

9:16accomplishment of gaining 25,000

9:19subscribers that's something I've

9:21achieved something I have tried to do

9:24and successfully done okay to get

9:27something done maybe we could say

9:30successfully okay so what is he trying

9:32to do he wants to get financial

9:36stability Financial just means about

9:39money stability means that something is

9:43stable it's stable okay it's um not

9:47going to tip over right if a chair is

9:52stable you know you sit in it the chair

9:55is not going to fall over if you take a

9:58glass and put it on a table the glass

10:01doesn't wobble it doesn't fall over the

10:03glass is stable well your finances can

10:07be stable as well your financial

10:11situation in other words he doesn't want

10:14to have to worry about money like okay

10:17this month where is my money coming from

10:20will I have enough money what will I do

10:23if I don't have enough money that kind

10:26of situation we could call Financial

10:30instability we could add an i in to make

10:33it instability meaning that your

10:36situation is not stable it's kind of a

10:40precarious situation oo there's a big

10:43word precarious if you guys can use this

10:46word I'm sure native speakers would be

10:48very impressed precarious just means

10:51kind of um kind of a risky situation

10:55kind of an

10:56uncertain situation kind of a danger

11:00situation the situation is a little bit

11:04precarious just means uh my financial

11:07situation is a bit precarious that means

11:11it's not very stable okay let's say it

11:13one more time and then move on a man

11:16opens a bank account to save money for

11:19his future and plans to invest in the

11:21stock market to grow his wealth and

11:24Achieve Financial stability level eight

11:27there are 10 levels total if you guys

11:30are still with me give yourself a pat on

11:32the back you're doing great you are

11:34building up that spoken English

11:37confidence little by little we're

11:40stretching these sentences longer and

11:42longer we're making it more and more

11:44complex you know your spoken ability is

11:47a lot like a muscle if you're training

11:50your biceps you go to the gym right you

11:54have certain exercises that really train

11:57that muscle well that's what we're doing

11:59today okay say it with me ready a man

12:03opens a bank account to save money for

12:05his future and plans to invest in the

12:09stock market to grow his wealth and

12:12Achieve Financial stability while also

12:15setting aside funds for

12:19emergencies okay wow this is getting

12:22really complicated right we've just

12:24learned something new that he's doing

12:27something else that he's doing okay he's

12:30setting aside funds for

12:33emergencies funds just another way to

12:37say money that's used for something this

12:40is my travel fund my money that I'm

12:43saving to be spent on travel right this

12:46is my school supplies fund this is the

12:50money that I'm saving to be spent on

12:53school supplies well he's setting aside

12:57funds for emergency

12:59setting aside just as another way of

13:02saying saving he's taking this money

13:06he's putting it over here so that he

13:09won't spend it he's going to save it

13:11he's going to keep it for a certain

13:14reason that reason is emergencies M yeah

13:18you know maybe there's a storm and

13:21lightning strikes his roof he has to get

13:24the roof on his house repaired maybe

13:27he's driving and he hits a nail and he

13:31gets a flat tire the tire on his

13:35car

13:37deflates deflates the air goes out of it

13:40all right maybe he's you know walking to

13:43work and he trips and he breaks his

13:46ankle something bad happens and he needs

13:50money now what we're talking about is a

13:54financial emergency a money emergency

13:58right so

13:59all of the stuff he's doing is in

14:02preparation for these things for a

14:06financial emergency he's prepping here's

14:10a good word prepping just means getting

14:13ready

14:14getting ready he's getting ready for

14:19financial emergencies okay let's say

14:22this one more time I'm going to go a

14:23little bit quick a man opens a bank

14:26account to save money for his future and

14:29plans to invest in the stock market to

14:31grow his wealth and Achieve Financial

14:33stability while also setting aside funds

14:37for

14:38emergencies okay guys level nine we're

14:40getting close to the end here we go a

14:43man opens a bank account to save money

14:46for his future and plans to invest in

14:49the stock market to grow his wealth and

14:52Achieve Financial stability while also

14:55setting aside funds for

14:57emergencies and major life events major

15:03life events what could that be a major

15:06life event major just means big a big

15:09life event you know could be a wedding

15:12something good something happy like a

15:16wedding okay could be something bad like

15:19a funeral something where you know

15:22there's there's a big event a big

15:25milestone in your life okay mil Stone

15:30basically just means something big that

15:32happens in the Journey of your life

15:34right and he might have to set aside

15:37some money for that so there's two

15:39reasons why he's setting aside funds

15:42setting aside money the first reason is

15:45emergencies the second reason major life

15:48events okay are you ready to say this

15:50again a little bit faster this time a

15:53man opens a bank account to save money

15:56for his future and plans to invest in

15:58the stock stock market to grow his

16:00wealth and Achieve Financial stability

16:03while also setting aside funds for

16:05emergencies and major life

16:09events wow guys we have grown this

16:13sentence by a lot okay remember how

16:16small this sentence was when we started

16:18out I'm willing to bet that you have

16:21never spoken a sentence this long am I

16:25correct if I'm correct down in the

16:27comment section you can can let me know

16:30yes uh teacher Connor you are correct

16:34this is the longest sentence I've ever

16:36spoken or you can say you know teacher

16:38Connor actually no I have spoken

16:41sentences this long before let's say

16:43this one more time really quick and then

16:45we'll move on to the final level let's

16:47go ready a man opens a bank account to

16:50save money for his future and plans to

16:52invest in the stock market to grow his

16:54wealth and Achieve Financial stability

16:57while also setting aside funds for

16:59emergencies and major life events wo

17:03okay Level 10 the final level if you

17:07guys are still with me you're doing

17:09fantastic let's keep going come on push

17:12you probably feel a bit of discomfort

17:15right you probably feel a little bit

17:17uncomfortable but think about it without

17:20discomfort there is no improvement no

17:24advancement another way of saying that

17:26is no pain no gain something you hear a

17:32lot from people who work out who go to

17:34the gym right that's exactly what we're

17:36doing the unfortunate reality of

17:39learning a language is that if you are

17:42not willing to experience some

17:45discomfort then you're not going to make

17:47any progress so okay first with level 10

17:51we're going to take it slow okay so say

17:54it with me or repeat after me ready a

17:58man opens a bank account to save money

18:02for his future and plans to invest in

18:06the stock market to grow his wealth and

18:09Achieve Financial stability while also

18:13setting aside funds for emergencies and

18:16major life events such as buying a house

18:20getting married and starting a family

18:23now we know specifically what the major

18:27life events are remember in level nine

18:30we weren't certain what they were we

18:32weren't sure what he was talking about

18:34we had to

18:37speculate

18:39speculate we had to guess okay we had to

18:44place conjecture is another fancy way of

18:47saying that right we had to take a guess

18:50we had to take a shot in the dark that

18:55means take a guess when you're not

18:57really sure okay so yeah we said oh

19:00maybe a wedding maybe a funeral now we

19:03are getting some specific examples of

19:06what is being discussed okay so uh such

19:09as buying a house that's a major life

19:12event getting married that's a major

19:15life event starting a family that's a

19:17major life event okay now all three of

19:20these

19:21Milestones life Milestones all three of

19:25these major life events these cost a lot

19:28of money these are expensive things so

19:31it makes sense that this guy wants to

19:34open an account and save money and plan

19:37for his future and invest his money in

19:40the stock market and grow his wealth and

19:43get some Financial stability achieve

19:46some Financial stability while at the

19:48same time also setting aside funds for

19:51emergencies okay uh you know yeah even

19:55if you start a family you still need uh

19:58an emergency fund right what if your

20:01child needs an operation you know knock

20:05on wood knock on wood that's something

20:08we really don't want to happen so knock

20:11on wood right but uh he's really

20:14covering his

20:16bases

20:18covering his bases that means he's

20:22thinking about every possible problem

20:25every possible scenario right he doesn't

20:29want there to be some expensive surprise

20:33that drains all of his funds

20:36drains right or sucks away all of his

20:40money okay let's say this one more time

20:42at more of a medium speed now once again

20:46you can say it with me or pause the

20:48video and say it by

20:50yourself a man opens a bank account to

20:53save money for his future and plans to

20:56invest in the stock market to grow grow

20:58his wealth and Achieve Financial

21:01stability while also setting aside funds

21:03for emergencies and major life events

21:07such as buying a house getting married

21:09and starting a

21:12family now I'm really willing to bet

21:15that this is the longest sentence you

21:18guys have ever spoken if you have ever

21:21spoken a sentence longer than this one I

21:24will be really surprised okay let's say

21:27it one more time quickly are you ready

21:30I'm going to say it at the speed that a

21:33native speaker would probably say it at

21:36a man opens a bank account to save money

21:38for his future and plans to invest in

21:40the stock market to grow his wealth and

21:42Achieve Financial stability while also

21:45setting aside funds for emergencies and

21:47major life events such as buying a house

21:50getting married and starting a

21:53family wow okay yeah guys you did it

21:57that was level 10 level one starting off

Episode 2 ✅

22:01basic simple and easy I want you guys to

22:05follow along as I talk slowly at first

22:08getting gradually quicker gradually

22:11faster or once again you can pause the

22:15video and repeat it back out loud let's

22:17take a look a woman heads to a big job

22:22interview okay one more time a little

22:25quicker a woman heads to a big job and

22:28interview a woman heads that means she

22:32goes she is going to a job interview

22:36yeah she's going to apply for a job

22:39she's going to apply for a job a new

22:43position okay but not just any job

22:46interview a big job interview in this

22:50context big is another way of saying

22:53important like this could be a big

22:56opportunity for her this could be a big

22:59chance to level up in her career let's

23:02say it one more time quickly like a

23:05native speaker would this time ready a

23:08woman heads to a big job interview level

23:11two now starting off slow a woman heads

23:14to a big job interview in the middle of

23:18downtown Denver H okay one more time a

23:22little quicker a woman heads to a big

23:25job interview in the middle of downtown

23:27Denver M okay now we know the

23:32location of the job interview it's in a

23:36city called Denver in the United States

23:39and the interview isn't just in Denver

23:42it's in downtown Denver in the Heart of

23:45the City in the middle of the busiest

23:48most bustling area of the city but it's

23:52not just in downtown Denver it's in the

23:56middle of downtown Denver so right in

23:58the middle of the middle of the city wow

24:02it sounds like whatever company she's

24:05interviewing for probably has a really

24:08nice office space right okay so let's

24:11say this one more time quickly like a

24:14native speaker would a woman heads to a

24:16big job interview in the middle of

24:18downtown Denver level three getting a

24:21little more serious here let's start off

24:24slow a woman heads to a big job

24:27interview you in the middle of downtown

24:30Denver feeling a bit nervous okay one

24:34more time a little more quickly a woman

24:37heads to a big job interview in the

24:39middle of downtown Denver feeling a bit

24:42nervous M okay now we have an Insight

24:46now we have an idea about how she's

24:49feeling about her emotions okay and we

24:53see that she's feeling nervous we could

24:56also say anxious or maybe a little

24:59worried or maybe a little bit

25:02uncertain okay yeah on the inside she

25:05feels like

25:06this she's a little stressed out maybe

25:10about this interview I wonder why maybe

25:14because the interview is in the heart of

25:16downtown in a big fancy office it feels

25:20a little intimidating a little scary or

25:24maybe she's not feeling too confident in

25:27her interviewing skills I wonder why

25:30she's feeling nervous anyway let's read

25:33it one more time quickly ready a woman

25:36heads to a big job interview in the

25:38middle of downtown Denver feeling a bit

25:40nervous moving on to level four a woman

25:45heads to a big job interview in the

25:48middle of downtown Denver feeling a bit

25:51nervous but excited at the same time

25:54once more quicker a woman heads to a big

25:57job in interview in the middle of

25:59downtown Denver feeling a bit nervous

26:02but excited at the same time all right

26:05we can see here that she's got a real

26:08mixed bag of emotions what's a mixed bag

26:12of emotions that means she's feeling

26:15lots of different things yeah her

26:17feelings her emotions her thoughts are

26:21not so simple right now in fact they're

26:23pretty complicated there are a lot of

26:26conflicting emotions right feelings that

26:30don't really agree with each other like

26:32yeah she's a bit nervous a bit just

26:35means a touch a tad a little bit right

26:39she's a little nervous a little worried

26:42a little anxious but at the same time

26:45she's also feeling excited right she's

26:48like oo this could be a great

26:50opportunity maybe she's going to have a

26:53chance to get a fancy new job title like

26:56a manager position or maybe a chance to

26:59make a lot of money in this new job but

27:02whatever the reason she's also feeling

27:05excited all right let's read this one

27:07more time quickly a woman heads to a big

27:10job interview in the middle of downtown

27:13Denver feeling a bit nervous but excited

27:16at the same time we've reached level

27:18five which means we are halfway there so

27:21I'd like you guys to take your

27:24hand give yourself a pat on the back to

27:27congrat congratulate yourself for taking

27:30your English studies seriously yeah you

27:33guys are making a big investment in your

27:36future as an English speaker and you

27:39know what like I mentioned earlier this

27:41is a lot like training a muscle at the

27:44gym we are training that spoken English

27:48muscle by increasing the difficulty of

27:51these sentences little by little okay

27:54let's take a look at level five slowly

27:56at first a woman heads to a big job

28:01interview in the middle of downtown

28:03Denver feeling a bit nervous but excited

28:07about the great opportunity at the same

28:11time okay one more time a little quicker

28:14a woman heads to a big job interview in

28:17the middle of downtown Denver feeling a

28:20bit nervous but excited about the great

28:22opportunity at the same

28:25time I can barely say that in one breath

28:28it's getting to be pretty long pretty

28:31Advanced so what are we adding to the

28:33sentence this time well now we know why

28:36she's a bit nervous and a bit excited

28:39she's got this great opportunity a great

28:43opportunity maybe a lot of money like a

28:46high salary like the job will pay her a

28:50lot of money right or maybe she's

28:53excited to work downtown in the Heart of

28:56the City yeah or maybe maybe she's

28:58really looking forward to moving up to

29:01leveling up in her career with a new

29:04title okay so yeah the opportunity is

29:08great so because the opportunity is so

29:11great she's excited about the

29:14possibilities but also a bit nervous

29:17because she doesn't want to flub the

29:20interview she doesn't want to botch the

29:23interview she doesn't want to mess up

29:27the interview she doesn't want to fail

29:30or not pass one more time quickly now a

29:34woman heads to a big job interview in

29:36the middle of downtown Denver feeling a

29:38bit nervous but excited about the great

29:41opportunity at the same time level six

29:44I'm not sure I can still do this in a

29:46single breath but let's try slowly now a

29:50woman heads to a big job interview in

29:53the middle of downtown Denver feeling a

29:56bit nervous but excited at the the same

29:58time about the great opportunity to land

30:02her dream gig faster now ready a woman

30:06heads to a big job interview in the

30:08middle of downtown Denver feeling a bit

30:11nervous but excited at the same time

30:13about the great opportunity to land her

30:16dream gig okay so what are we adding

30:19this time she's excited about the great

30:22opportunity the great opportunity the

30:25great chance to to do what well to land

30:30her dream gig ah okay so this is what

30:34she has a chance to do this is what

30:37she's going to be given an opportunity

30:39to do to land or to get her dream gig a

30:45gig is another way of saying a job now

30:48gig this word is very

30:51informal maybe if you're talking to your

30:54buddy drinking a beer you know you'd say

30:57hey how's the new gig how's the new gig

31:00treating you that just means are you

31:02enjoying the new job right but if you

31:05are in an interview you probably don't

31:08want to use this word CU it sounds a

31:10little too casual too informal right you

31:14can't go to an interview and say I'm

31:16really excited for the chance to get

31:18this gig it just sounds a little bit

31:21sloppy a little bit crude okay so anyway

31:25this is her dream gig okay this is like

31:29the job of her dreams we don't know

31:32exactly why we don't know exactly what

31:35the job is all we know is that it's her

31:38dream gig so I'll draw her face when she

31:41thinks about it right she is just so

31:45over the

31:47moon over the moon she is so ecstatic

31:52that means really excited really happy

31:55about the chance to get this job to

31:58secure this position let's read it one

32:01more time quickly now a woman heads to a

32:04big job interview in the middle of

32:06downtown Denver feeling a bit nervous

32:08but excited at the same time about the

32:11great opportunity to land her dream gig

32:14level seven let's go a woman heads to a

32:18big job interview in the middle of

32:20downtown Denver feeling a bit nervous

32:23but excited at the same time about the

32:26great opportunity to land her dream gig

32:29hoping she doesn't trip over her words

32:33okay now we know what she's so worried

32:36about right well not so worried cuz

32:39remember she's just a bit nervous just a

32:42little nervous but now we know

32:44specifically why okay let's read this

32:47one more time a little quicker a woman

32:49heads to a big job interview in the

32:52middle of downtown Denver feeling a bit

32:54nervous but excited at the same time

32:57about the great opportunity to land her

33:00dream gig hoping she doesn't trip over

33:02her words okay so taking a look at the

33:05blue here like I said now we know

33:08specifically why she's a little bit

33:11nervous maybe sometimes when she's put

33:15on the

33:17spot when she's put on the spot she

33:20trips over her words she has trouble

33:23speaking what's put on the spot like

33:26that means if you're in a situ ation

33:28where there's a lot of pressure the

33:30spotlight is on you there are high

33:33expectations for you to perform for you

33:36to speak for you to do something right

33:40so you know if you are in the middle of

33:43an interview yeah you are put on the

33:46spot and the

33:47interviewer is asking you lots of

33:50questions and expecting good answers

33:53okay so she's hoping that she doesn't

33:55trip over her words in other words when

33:59she's talking she doesn't want to make

34:01any mistakes when she's talking she

34:03doesn't want to stutter she doesn't want

34:06to misspeak okay one more time quickly

34:09now a woman heads to a big job interview

34:12in the middle of downtown Denver feeling

34:14a bit nervous but excited at the same

34:17time about the great opportunity to land

34:19her dream gig hoping she doesn't trip

34:21over her words level eight guys things

34:24are getting serious and guess what we

34:27are almost to the twist ending the funny

34:30twist ending something crazy is going to

34:33happen at the end of this super sentence

34:35if you want to know what it is you

34:37better stick around and finish the video

34:39to find out let's go slow it first a

34:42woman heads to a big job interview in

34:45the middle of downtown Denver feeling a

34:48bit nervous but excited at the same time

34:51about the great opportunity to land her

34:53dream gig hoping she doesn't trip over

34:56her words or spill coffee on her new

34:59outfit okay so now we know there's two

35:03things she's worried about right she

35:05doesn't want to number one misspeak or

35:09make a mistake when she's talking number

35:12two she doesn't want to do something

35:14embarrassing like spill coffee on her

35:16new outfit wow she is taking this

35:19interview really really seriously she

35:23even bought a new outfit just for this

35:26interview I'm guessing

35:28yeah so she is really serious about this

35:31interview she doesn't want anything to

35:33go wrong she doesn't want to make any

35:36mistakes let's read this again let's

35:38skip right to the quick level okay like

35:41a native speaker would are you ready a

35:44woman heads to a big job interview in

35:46the middle of downtown Denver feeling a

35:48bit nervous but excited at the same time

35:51about the great opportunity to land her

35:54dream gig hoping she doesn't trip over

35:56her words or spill coffee on her new

36:00outfit oh man yeah this is really giving

36:03me a workout and I'm a native speaker if

36:06you guys are keeping up with this then

36:08you're doing an awesome job let's see

36:11what happens next level 9 let's go slow

36:13it first a woman with toilet paper stuck

36:17to her butt oh no heads to a big job

36:21interview in the middle of downtown

36:24Denver feeling a bit nervous but excited

36:27at the same time about the great

36:30opportunity to land her dream gig hoping

36:33she doesn't trip over her words or spill

36:36coffee on her new outfit oh no guys this

36:41is not looking good for the woman in

36:44this story this poor woman unbeknownst

36:47to her unbeknownst to her uh she has

36:52toilet paper stuck to her butt maybe she

36:56used the bathroom before heading into

36:58the interview and she didn't realize it

37:02but a string of toilet

37:04paper became stuck to the back of her

37:08pants to her butt to her rear end oh my

37:12God that is so embarrassing I would say

37:15that's beyond embarrassing I would say

37:18that's

37:20humiliating I would say that she is

37:23going to be mortified mortified when she

37:27realizes what has happened oh no what a

37:31disaster what a terrible terrible

37:34awkward situation let's read this one

37:37more time quickly now a woman with

37:40toilet paper stuck to her butt heads to

37:42a big job interview in the middle of

37:44downtown Denver feeling a bit nervous

37:47but excited at the same time about the

37:50great opportunity to land her dream gig

37:53hoping she doesn't trip over her words

37:55or spill coffee on her new outfit guys I

37:58think tripping over her words spilling

38:01coffee on her new outfit these things

38:04are the least of her worries these

38:07things are the least of her worries what

38:10does that mean that means there's

38:12something else that she should be

38:14worried about more than those things

38:16right the toilet paper on her butt is

38:19what she should be concerned with not

38:22tripping over her words not spilling

38:25coffee on her new outfit let's see what

38:28happens in the final level of this super

38:30sentence a woman with toilet paper stuck

38:33to her butt heads to a big job interview

38:36in the middle of downtown Denver feeling

38:39a bit nervous but excited at the same

38:42time about the great opportunity to land

38:45her dream gig hoping she doesn't trip

38:48over her words or spill coffee on her

38:51new outfit but sadly doesn't get the

38:54offer oh no sadly she doesn't get the

39:00offer oh my gosh she doesn't get the

39:04offer for the job she doesn't pass the

39:07interview and I think we know why guys I

39:11think we know why she didn't pass I bet

39:15it was the toilet paper stuck to her

39:17butt you know even if she did misspeak

39:21once or twice during the interview even

39:24if she did trip over her words even if

39:27she did do something really embarrassing

39:30like spill a little coffee I think that

39:34pales in

39:36comparison that pales in comparison to

39:40having toilet paper stuck to your butt

39:43you know there's really not much that's

39:46more embarrassing than that so this poor

39:50lady she got a new outfit she traveled

39:53all the way she headed into downtown

39:56Denver the heart of downtown Denver and

39:59in the end she didn't get the gig she

40:02didn't land the role she didn't land the

40:05job she didn't get the position she

40:07didn't pass the interview let's read

40:10this one last time quickly as if you

40:13were a native speaker let's go a woman

40:16with toilet paper stuck to her butt

40:18heads to a big job interview in the

40:20middle of downtown Denver feeling a bit

40:23nervous but excited at the same time

40:25about the great opportunity to land and

40:27her dream gig hoping she doesn't trip

40:29over her words or spill coffee on her

40:31new outfit but sadly doesn't get the

40:34offer starting off slow starting off

46:10push ourselves okay we need to train our

46:13spoken English muscles and you just

46:16can't do that by only speaking short

46:19choppy sentences we have to invest time

46:24invest energy in longer Advanced and

53:05promotion that's a little bit awkward

53:07right I think the story has kind of

53:10taken a turn it's taking a turn right

53:15something has happened this woman's

53:17sister has made an announcement she has

53:20let everybody know something well what

53:23has she let them know her sister has let

53:26everyone know that she just got a

53:29promotion okay she just got this is

53:31something that has also happened

53:34recently okay the woman was engaged

53:37recently but her sister got a promotion

53:40recently as well yeah maybe it happened

53:43yesterday or last week or even this

53:46morning okay but yeah her sister is

53:49saying hey guys hey guys I have

53:51something to say too I got a promotion

53:54what's a promotion you you move up at

53:57work you move up yeah maybe you get a

54:01new job title maybe you get some more

54:05important responsibilities at work maybe

54:08you get a higher salary at work as well

54:11it's a good thing right a promotion is a

54:14really good thing so okay let's read

54:17this sentence again quickly now and then

54:20we'll see what is going to happen after

54:23her sister makes a big announcement as

54:25well is there going to be some kind of

54:29Confrontation some kind of conflict

54:31between the two of them some kind of

54:33issue some kind of problem let's read

54:36level eight quickly and then we'll find

54:38out ready a happy woman shares exciting

54:42news with her family about her recent

54:44engagement while smiling from ear to ear

54:47and showing off her stunning ring as

54:50everyone congratulates her until her

54:53sister announces she just got a

54:55promotion

54:57okay wow that was a real mouthful okay

55:01and I forgot to mention there's one word

55:04here that's really a key word until

55:07until is really the dividing moment in

55:11the scene that we're looking at in uh

55:14the mood of this scene right things at

55:17first were really really happy everyone

55:19was excited everyone was happy you know

55:22she's smiling from ear to ear and then

55:26we have a hard line that's what's going

55:29on until this moment when her sister

55:33makes the announcement all right let's

55:35level up level nine let's Jump Right In

55:38with a slow read ready a happy woman

55:42shares exciting news with her family

55:45about her recent engagement while

55:47smiling from ear to ear and showing off

55:51her stunning ring as everyone

55:53congratulates her until her sister

55:57announces she just got a promotion

56:00taking the spotlight

56:02away yeah guys until her sister did this

56:07the mood was happy the mood was light

56:10the mood was exciting right everybody

56:13was congratulating this happy woman who

56:16was smiling then this moment happened

56:20there's a dividing line before this

56:23moment happened and after this moment

56:25happened right her sister makes this

56:27announcement about her promotion and

56:30when she does that she takes the

56:32spotlight away yeah this is a useful

56:36expression in English if you have the

56:39spotlight then that means all eyes are

56:42on you all eyes are on you you have the

56:47floor you have everyone's attention

56:51everyone is paying attention to you

56:54everyone's noticing you right but then

56:57her sister took the spotlight away and

57:00she took it for herself kind of

57:02selfishly right now the spotlight is

57:06split yeah it's still a little bit on

57:08the woman but now part of the spotlight

57:11is on her sister as well I think her

57:14sister was maybe a little bit jealous of

57:17all the attention this woman was getting

57:20and you know she was kind of showing off

57:22her stunning ring and getting all of

57:25this congratulations from all of her

57:28family members and I think that bothered

57:31her sister a little bit her sister got

57:34jealous and decided to take the

57:36spotlight away okay let's read this

57:40sentence again quickly and then move on

57:42to the final level of today's super

57:45sentence ready a happy woman shares

57:48exciting news with her family about her

57:50recent engagement while smiling from ear

57:53to ear and showing off her stunning ring

57:56as everyone congratulates her until her

57:59sister announces she just got a

58:01promotion taking the spotlight

58:05away now if you haven't liked this video

58:07yet if you haven't left me a comment if

58:10you're not subscribed now is a great

58:12moment to do one or all of those things

58:16it really helps me out so much and

58:18thanks to you guys you know my channel

58:21has been growing like crazy and I'm

58:23getting closer and closer to being being

58:26able to do this fulltime for you guys

58:29okay with all of that being said let's

58:31take a look at level 10 slowly a happy

58:35woman shares exciting news with her

58:38family about her recent engagement while

58:41smiling from ear to ear and showing off

58:44her stunning ring as everyone

58:47congratulates her until her sister

58:50announces she just got a promotion

58:54taking the spotlight away

58:56and stealing her Thunder like

59:00usual oh man this situation has become

59:03kind of a

59:05bummer what's a bummer if you say oh man

59:09what a bummer or if you say that's a

59:12real bummer it means this is kind of a

59:15sad situation it

59:18bums you out it makes you feel kind of

59:22down kind of disappointed right because

59:26things were going so well and this was

59:29such a beautiful scene until her sister

59:32decided to take the spotlight away and

59:35another way of saying that another way

59:38of expressing this idea of taking

59:41someone's Spotlight away is stealing

59:44Thunder her sister stole her Thunder

59:48even worse are these two final words

59:52like usual now why is that so bad these

59:56two final words like usual what makes

59:59these two words so awful well the

1:00:03implication what that tells me as the

1:00:06listener is that this happens all the

1:00:08time like usual this is something her

1:00:12sister does a lot it must be a bad habit

1:00:15that her sister has I guess there's kind

1:00:18of a

1:00:20sibling

1:00:22rivalry what's a sibling rivalry it's

1:00:25when a brother and sister or a brother

1:00:28and a brother or a sister and a sister

1:00:30two siblings compete with each other

1:00:34compete with each other they butt heads

1:00:37they try to see who's best they try to

1:00:41see who's better they try to see who is

1:00:44superior right and obviously that's a

1:00:47bummer because they're siblings and they

1:00:50should support each other and love each

1:00:52other but here we are in this messy

1:00:55scenario

1:00:56this messy situation okay guys let's say

1:01:00it again this is the last time we will

1:01:02read this super sentence so really push

1:01:05yourself are you ready a happy woman

1:01:18congratulates her until her sister

1:01:21announces she just got a promotion

1:01:23taking the spotlight away and stealing

1:01:26her Thunder like

1:01:28usual o wow I want you guys to take a

1:03:11take a look at what has been added to

1:03:14the sentence ready reading slowly at

1:03:20ticket one more time a little faster a

1:03:47hopeful yeah he's hoping for something

1:03:51good to happen he's wishing that

1:03:54something good will happen

1:03:56and I think we know based on the context

1:03:59of this sentence in other words looking

1:04:02at the rest of the sentence what he's

1:04:05hopeful for he's hoping that he will win

1:04:53feeling we know what he is doing now we

1:04:57know where this is happening he bought a

1:05:00lottery ticket where at his local store

1:05:04we could also say his local shop right

1:05:07they mean the same thing local just

1:05:10means near him near the place where he

1:05:13lives okay let's read this one more time

1:05:17quick native speed and then we'll keep

1:05:20leveling up guys ready a hopeful man

1:05:23buys a lottery ticket at his local store

1:05:26we are sailing right along let's jump

1:05:29into level four at a slow speed a

1:05:32hopeful man buys a lottery ticket at his

1:05:35local store on a whim M this is a really

1:05:40useful really spoken English expression

1:05:44that you guys should know if you don't

1:05:47know it already on a whim that's what

1:05:51we've added here in level four on a whim

1:05:55just means that he didn't put a lot of

1:05:58thought into this decision he didn't

1:06:00think about it for days and days and

1:06:03days leading up to the decision it was

1:06:07on a whim a decision made in a split

1:06:10second maybe he was walking by this

1:06:13local store and he had some extra money

1:06:16to spend and so he bought the lottery

1:06:19ticket on a whim so let's read it one

1:06:23more time native speed and then keep

1:06:25going ready a hopeful man buys a lottery

1:06:28ticket at his local store on a whim

1:06:31level five guys we are halfway there we

1:06:34are halfway done with this super

1:06:37sentence we are slowly stretching it

1:07:03it first a hopeful man buys a lottery

1:07:06ticket at his local store on a whim not

1:07:10expecting much okay so we can see that

1:07:14this guy our main character this man yes

1:07:18he's hopeful yes of course he's hoping

1:07:21something really good will happen to him

1:07:24yes his hopes are high he has High Hopes

1:07:29but at the same time he's not expecting

1:07:33much yeah he's hopeful but at the same

1:07:36time he is

1:07:37realistic maybe he is keeping in mind

1:07:41the actual chances of winning and making

1:07:44a mental note that the chances of

1:07:47winning are very slim they are very low

1:07:51right so even though he's hopeful he's

1:07:54being realistic not expecting too much

1:07:57not assuming he will win he's not making

1:08:01assumptions right he's not assuming oh

1:08:04yes of course I'm going to win he's not

1:08:07expecting much okay let's read it one

1:08:14man buys a lottery ticket at his local

1:08:16store on a whim not expecting much in

1:08:19level six you can see that we are adding

1:08:21a big blue chunk to our super sentence

1:08:25stretching it even longer this is

1:08:28starting to become quite the mouthful

1:08:31right quite difficult to say let's give

1:08:34it a try at our slow speed a hopeful man

1:08:38buys a lottery ticket at his local store

1:08:42on a whim not expecting much but

1:08:45thinking it could be fun okay this is

1:08:49great yeah you know he's hopeful of

1:08:52course he has his hopes that he could

1:08:54win but he's not expecting much at the

1:08:58same time he's kind of doing it just for

1:09:02the thrill the thrill right he thinks

1:09:05it's an exciting thing to do it's a fun

1:09:09thing to do maybe the experience of just

1:09:13buying a lottery ticket in itself is

1:09:16enough for him maybe he feels like he'll

1:09:20get his money's worth even if he doesn't

1:09:23win because it's a fun thing to do it's

1:09:27a fun activity just to try and win right

1:09:31so he's thinking it could be fun yeah it

1:09:35might be fun it might be a good time to

1:09:38buy a lottery ticket and test my luck or

1:09:44you could also say try your luck he's

1:09:47going to try his luck he's going to test

1:09:50his luck at a quick speed now ready a

1:09:53hopeful man buys a lot loty ticket at

1:09:56his local store on a whim not expecting

1:09:59much but thinking it could be fun level

1:10:02seven things are getting really hairy

1:10:05now things are getting really hairy what

1:10:09does that mean like there's hair coming

1:10:11off of the page sprouting out of the

1:10:14page no no no hairy just means things

1:10:17are starting to get difficult and messy

1:10:21and complicated let's read level seven

1:10:24at a slow low speed together a hopeful

1:10:27man buys a lottery ticket at his local

1:10:31store on a whim not expecting much but

1:10:35thinking it could be fun to dream about

1:10:38winning here we're seeing why he's

1:10:41thinking it could be fun yeah he thinks

1:10:44it could be fun now we know why he

1:10:47thinks it could be fun he wants to dream

1:10:50about winning yeah he's going to

1:10:53fantasize

1:10:55he's going to allow himself this fantasy

1:10:59of winning he's going to daydream about

1:11:02all the amazing things he could do with

1:11:06his

1:11:07winnings with his winnings with the

1:11:10money that he wins right for example

1:11:14maybe he could buy a big fancy house

1:11:17maybe he could buy a luxury car maybe he

1:11:21could take a trip to the destination of

1:11:24his dreams and have like a dream

1:11:27vacation right so for now you know he's

1:11:31realistic he's not expecting much he's

1:11:34not assuming he will win but he's

1:11:37hopeful and he's having fun just

1:11:40dreaming about the possibility of

1:11:43winning okay at a quick native speed one

1:12:35surprised this is not a bad surprise

1:12:39this is not an unwelcome surprise this

1:12:42is an amazing surprise a very positive

1:12:46thing why he matches all the numbers

1:12:51guys you know what it means if you match

1:12:53all the numbers when you play the

1:12:55lottery right his numbers match the

1:12:59winning numbers the numbers on his

1:13:02personal ticket that he bought that he

1:13:06purchased at his local store on a whim

1:13:09without expecting much you know those

1:14:16jackpot yeah he has hit the jackpot what

1:14:20does it mean if you hit the jackpot

1:17:17unexpectedly right so you did not expect

1:17:44look at this question and then try to

1:17:47spend one minute responding to it so

1:17:49here's the question what would you do

1:17:52personally in your life if you hit the

1:17:56jackpot and won $10 million in the

1:18:00lottery now I'm going to go first and

1:18:03give you a demonstration of what I'd

1:18:05like you to try and do with this minute

1:18:08I want you guys to really push

1:18:10yourselves to speak for the full minute

1:18:13and really fill up that window of time

1:18:16I'll go first yeah what would I do if I

1:18:20hit the jackpot well if I won 10 Mill

1:18:24million dollar in the lottery man there

1:18:27are so many things I would do I think

1:18:31first of all I would buy a big house for

1:18:35me and my wife and our dog that's

1:18:38because we have been living in a small

1:18:41apartment for a long long time and we

1:18:45often Daydream we fantasize about what

1:18:49it would be like to have a big house

1:18:52with multiple bedrooms and bath

1:18:54bathrooms and a big backyard for our dog

1:18:58to run around and and enjoy herself

1:19:02right so that's the first thing that

1:19:05comes to mind that's the first thing

1:19:08that I think of when I imagine this

1:19:13fantasy of hitting the jackpot and

1:19:16winning $10 million in the lottery so

1:19:20guys that's my one minute response now

1:19:23it's your turn push yourself go for

Episode 6 ✅

1:21:49super sentence we have a short basic

1:21:52simple sentence now remember you can say

1:21:55it with me or pause the video and repeat

1:21:58back after me ready let's say it slowly

1:22:02the first time a man decided to paint

1:22:06his house again but a little faster this

1:22:09time a man decided to paint his house

1:22:13okay yeah let's talk about this right

1:22:15we've got a man he's going to be the

1:22:17main character of this super sentence

1:22:20and this man is making a decision he

1:22:23decided to do do something he is

1:22:26choosing to do something what is he

1:22:28making a decision to do he decided to

1:22:32paint his house he's got a house and you

1:22:36know maybe the paint job the paint job

1:22:39on this house is looking a bit old a bit

1:22:44outdated outdated okay yeah it's looking

1:22:48like it needs a touchup a touchup what's

1:22:52a touchup that means you make it look

1:22:54fresh again you make it look new again

1:22:58okay so because it looks outdated

1:23:01because it appears like it needs a

1:23:04touchup he decides to paint his house

1:23:07let's say it together one more time

1:23:10quickly now a man decided to paint his

1:23:13house once more a man decided to paint

1:23:16his house okay we've leveled up guys to

1:23:19level two and as you can see some blue

1:23:22words have appeared we have stretched

1:23:26our super sentence just a little bit

1:23:28we've made it just a tad more

1:23:31challenging just a touch more difficult

1:23:35okay let's read it together slowly at

1:23:38first a tired but determined man decided

1:23:42to paint his house again a little bit

1:23:46faster a tired but determined man

1:23:50decided to paint his house okay so now

1:23:53we know the mental state of this guy

1:23:57this man our main character right we

1:24:00know what he's thinking we know how he's

1:24:03feeling he's tired you know he's tired

1:24:07he's not feeling like he has a lot of

1:24:10energy he's not feeling that you know

1:24:14quick not feeling that

1:24:16energetic but at the same time he's

1:24:19determined now we talk about this word a

1:24:22lot on my channel here determined means

1:24:25you are you really want to do something

1:24:29you have a mission you have a goal you

1:24:32have an aim and you're trying to make it

1:24:35happen you really want to make it happen

1:24:38you're not going to give up so easily

1:24:41okay so seems like he's determined to do

1:24:43what he's determined to paint his house

1:24:48okay he is determined to make this

1:24:51happen he's not going to give up he's

1:24:53got a goal he's got a mission let's read

1:24:56it one more time together quickly now a

1:24:59tired but determined man decided to

1:25:01paint his house all right guys we've

1:25:04leveled up again level three let's read

1:25:07it together once more slowly at first a

1:25:10tired but determined man decided to

1:25:14paint his house by himself over the

1:25:17weekend H again a little bit faster now

1:25:21a tired but determined man decided to

1:25:24paint his house by himself over the

1:25:27weekend okay so now we know that he is

1:25:31going to do this job

1:25:34Solo solo that means all by himself all

1:25:39alone he is not going to have any

1:25:42assistance in other words he's not going

1:25:45to have any help he's not going to rely

1:25:50on anybody to help him out to give give

1:25:55him a hand give him a hand he's not

1:26:00going to have any Helping Hands with

1:26:03this project okay we also found out the

1:26:06time frame for this project right over

1:26:09the weekend yeah this guy is tired see

1:26:12here and now I think we know why he's so

1:26:15tired this guy probably worked all week

1:26:19long Monday through Friday he went to

1:26:23his job to make money now it's the

1:26:26weekend and he has a project for his

1:26:28weekend he has a solo project a project

1:26:32that he's going to tackle all alone

1:26:36tackle what does that mean a project

1:26:39he's going to take on a project he's

1:26:42going to attempt he's going to try and

1:26:45do okay let's say this one more time

1:26:49together quickly now ready a tired but

1:26:52determined man decided to pay paint his

1:26:54house by himself over the weekend level

1:26:57four let's take a look slowly at first a

1:27:01tired but determined man decided to

1:27:04paint his house by himself over the

1:27:07weekend starting early on Saturday

1:27:10morning GH that sounds terrible to me

1:27:13that is something I have zero interest

1:27:16in I believe in this idea of work hard

1:27:21play hard work hard play hard what does

1:27:25that mean that means when it's time to

1:27:27work you give it all you got it means

1:27:31when it's time to work you give it 100%

1:27:35but then when it's time to relax when

1:27:38it's time to play you play hard as well

1:27:42you play 100% And you work 100% so this

1:27:46guy he's taken on this solo house

1:27:49painting project over the weekend and

1:27:52he's starting early on Saturday morning

1:27:56ghh I kind of wonder how early because

1:28:00everyone's idea of early is different

1:28:03right my idea of early is 9:00 a.m. to

1:28:08me that's early because I like to sleep

1:28:11in but to this guy maybe 5:00 a.m. is

1:28:16early because he has to wake up and go

1:28:19to work Monday through Friday right

1:28:22let's say this again a little bit faster

1:28:24now ready a tired but determined man

1:28:28decided to paint his house by himself

1:28:31over the weekend starting early on

1:28:33Saturday morning level five guys we are

1:28:37halfway there are you starting to feel

1:28:40the burn feel the burn what does that

1:28:43mean when you go to the gym and you lift

1:28:46weights you work out you lift at the gym

1:28:50you exercise your muscles if you're

1:28:53doing it properly

1:28:54if you're working hard you will feel the

1:28:57burn your muscles will feel sore right

1:29:01and if you're doing this correctly maybe

1:29:04you will feel the burn as well guys this

1:29:08is not easy to do this is a workout but

1:29:12no pain no gain if you don't work hard

1:29:16to improve your English it won't get any

1:29:19better so you know it might be a little

1:29:22uncomfortable but I'm proud of all of my

1:29:24students if you are still with me you

1:29:27are still working hard at this super

1:29:29sentence you're doing fantastic great

1:29:32job keep it up let's take a look at

1:29:34level five slowly at first a tired but

1:29:37determined man decided to paint his

1:29:40house by himself over the weekend

1:29:44starting early on Saturday morning with

1:29:47nothing but a paintbrush and some old

1:29:50cans of

1:29:52paint okay yeah maybe this is not

1:29:57ideal what's ideal an ideal situation is

1:30:02a favorable situation A preferable

1:30:07situation a situation that you can look

1:30:10at and say okay yeah that sounds good

1:30:14okay yeah this seems good this situation

1:30:18is not ideal why is it not ideal he only

1:30:23has a paintbrush brush one paintbrush

1:30:26I'm guessing otherwise it would have

1:30:28said some paint brushes right some paint

1:30:31brushes but it didn't say some paint

1:30:34brushes it just said a paintbrush and

1:30:38some old cans of paint yeah maybe these

1:30:42old cans of paint have been sitting in

1:30:45his garage for a long time just

1:30:48collecting dust collecting dust what

1:30:52does that mean if some something has

1:30:54been you know stored for a long time in

1:30:57storage or set aside set aside for a

1:31:02long time for a long period of time we

1:31:06can say it's collecting dust it's just

1:31:09sitting there getting Dusty right so

1:31:12yeah these old cans of paint maybe

1:31:15they're Halfway Gone maybe they're kind

1:31:17of old maybe the color has changed a bit

1:31:20so once again the situation is not not

1:31:24looking ideal it's not looking good

1:31:27right let's read it again quickly now a

1:31:30tired but determined man decided to

1:31:32paint his house by himself over the

1:31:35weekend starting early on Saturday

1:31:37morning with nothing but a paintbrush

1:31:39and some old cans of paint again push

1:31:42yourself a tired but determined man

1:31:45decided to paint his house by himself

1:31:48over the weekend starting early on

1:31:50Saturday morning with nothing but a

1:31:52paintbrush and some old cans of

1:31:55paint are you guys feeling the burn I'm

1:31:59definitely feeling the burn come on

1:32:01let's level up slowly now a tired but

1:32:05determined man decided to paint his

1:32:08house by himself over the weekend

1:32:11starting early on Saturday morning with

1:32:14nothing but a paintbrush and some old

1:32:17cans of paint but realized halfway

1:32:20through he should have hired help

1:32:24M now it's really hitting him now it's

1:32:29really hitting him now it's really

1:32:32hitting him now he's really realizing

1:32:35you know the truth of this situation

1:32:38he's realizing oh man I bit off a lot

1:32:42more than I could chew I took on a

1:32:46project that was way too big way too

1:32:52involved involved involved it's way too

1:32:55involved yeah it's too difficult too

1:32:57challenging there's too many moving

1:33:00parts to this project right that just

1:33:03means it's tough to keep up with it's

1:33:06you know a lot to deal with and now he's

1:33:09thinking man he's halfway through this

1:33:12project he's halfway done but maybe it's

1:33:16taken a lot longer than he thought it

1:33:18would maybe it's eating up a lot more

1:33:21time than he anticip ipated than he

1:33:25thought that it would right and now he's

1:33:28realizing oh man oh jez oh boy I should

1:33:33have hired help I should have gotten

1:33:36some people to help me out with this

1:33:39maybe that would have been worth the

1:33:41money right he could have spent some

1:33:43money to find a couple of helpers to

1:33:46assist him or maybe he could have called

1:33:49a friend and asked for help so now this

1:33:53realiz

1:33:54is Dawning on him Dawning on him here's

1:33:59his face right here's his face he's like

1:34:03oh man this is a bit

1:34:07much this is a bit much maybe he's even

1:34:10a little bit worried yeah he's sweating

1:34:13a little bit oh geez oh man okay let's

1:34:16read this again quickly feel the burn

1:34:19push yourself a tired but determined man

1:34:22decided to paint his house by himself

1:34:25over the weekend starting early on

1:34:27Saturday morning with nothing but a

1:34:29paintbrush and some old cans of paint

1:34:31but realized halfway through he should

1:34:33have hired help one more time push a

1:34:37tired but determined man decided to

1:34:39paint his house by himself over the

1:34:41weekend starting early on Saturday

1:34:44morning with nothing but a paintbrush

1:34:46and some old cans of paint but realized

1:34:49halfway through he should have hired

1:34:51help let's rally let's rally what does

1:34:54that mean that means let's get this

1:34:57party started let's keep this project

1:35:00going let's drum up some energy let's

1:35:04drum up some energy and push onwards

1:35:07okay ready slowly now a tired but

1:35:10determined man decided to paint his

1:35:13house by himself over the weekend

1:35:16starting early on Saturday morning with

1:35:19nothing but a paintbrush and some old

1:35:21cans of paint but really realized

1:35:24halfway through he should have hired

1:35:26help as he was now covered in paint from

1:35:30head to toe oh my goodness this is

1:35:33getting really ridiculous right this is

1:35:36getting to be really

1:35:38absurd absurd just means crazy what a

1:35:42crazy wacky ridiculous situation this

1:35:47guy really should have hired help

1:35:50because now I feel like he doesn't know

1:35:53what he's doing doing he's covered in

1:35:55paint from head to toe how did he make

1:35:59such a big mess how did he manage to

1:36:02mess this up so badly from his head all

1:36:07the way down to his toes he is covered

1:36:10in paint in other words he's gotten

1:36:13paint all over him man you really have

1:36:17to try hard to mess up that badly right

1:36:21this guy this guy is like totally

1:36:24helpless let's read it again let's rally

1:36:27come on quickly now a tired but

1:36:30determined man decided to paint his

1:36:33house by himself over the weekend

1:36:35starting early on Saturday morning with

1:36:37nothing but a paintbrush and some old

1:36:40cans of paint but realized halfway

1:36:42through he should have hired help as he

1:36:44was now covered in paint from head to

1:36:46toe again come on guys push a tired but

1:36:50determined man decided to paint his

1:36:52house by himself over the weekend

1:36:54starting early on Saturday morning with

1:36:56nothing but a paintbrush and some old

1:36:58cans of paint but realized halfway

1:37:01through he should have hired help as he

1:37:03was now covered in paint from head to

1:37:05toe oh man I am really feeling the burn

1:37:09I am really feeling the burn how about

1:37:13you if you are getting a good workout in

1:37:16let me know with a message in the

1:37:18comments you can type I feel the burn

1:37:22level eight guys this this is no weeny

1:37:25Hut

1:37:26JR this is no weeny Hut Jr in other

1:37:30words this is not for beginners things

1:37:33are getting tough getting Advanced

1:37:36getting really challenging this is a big

1:37:39mouthful even for me and I'm a native

1:37:42speaker so if you're still with me if

1:37:45you're still rallying if you're still

1:37:47pushing yourself I applaud you I applaud

1:37:51you hats off to you you're doing awesome

1:37:54let's read this one slowly a tired but

1:37:58determined man decided to paint his

1:38:00house by himself over the weekend

1:38:03starting early on Saturday morning with

1:38:06nothing but a paintbrush and some old

1:38:09cans of paint but realized halfway

1:38:12through he should have hired help as he

1:38:14was now covered in paint from head to

1:38:17toe and had barely made any progress

1:38:20what does it mean if we say barely made

1:38:23any progress another way to say that

1:38:26might be hardly okay he's hardly made

1:38:30any progress at all we could also say

1:38:33he's barely made any progress at all so

1:38:37basically this is telling us that he's

1:38:40trying to push forward he's trying to

1:38:43you know tackle this project he's trying

1:38:46to get this done you know he's halfway

1:38:49through but he's barely made any

1:38:51progress this is really interesting

1:38:53right because when I first saw this

1:38:55halfway through earlier in the super

1:38:58sentence I assumed that meant he was

1:39:01halfway through the painting process but

1:39:04now with this added context I think it

1:39:08means he's halfway through the time that

1:39:11he has to complete the project maybe

1:39:14he's halfway through the weekend and he

1:39:17still barely made any progress right so

1:39:20context matters okay let's read it again

1:39:24quickly now ready a tired but determined

1:39:26man decided to paint his house by

1:39:29himself over the weekend starting early

1:39:31on Saturday morning with nothing but a

1:39:33paintbrush and some oldold cans of paint

1:39:36but realized halfway through we should

1:39:38have hired help as he was now covered in

1:39:40paint from head to toe and had barely

1:39:42made any progress we're in the final

1:39:45stretch guys the final stretch the last

1:39:50part of this video okay so let's really

1:39:53push ourselves slowly now a tired but

1:39:56determined man decided to paint his

1:39:59house by himself over the weekend

1:40:02starting early on Saturday morning with

1:40:05nothing but a paintbrush and some old

1:40:07cans of paint but realized halfway

1:40:10through he should have hired help as he

1:40:13was now covered in paint from head to

1:40:15toe and had barely made any progress

1:40:19wondering how on Earth he'd finish by

1:40:21Sunday this poor guy I we can see that

1:40:24now he's wondering how on Earth how on

1:40:29Earth am I going to get this done by

1:40:32Sunday because remember come Monday come

1:40:37Monday in other words when Monday comes

1:40:40around when it's Monday he's going to

1:40:43have to go back to work and he's not

1:40:45going to have any more time to pour into

1:40:48this project to give this project to

1:40:52devote to to this project right in other

1:40:55words he will have no more time for this

1:40:58project so now he's really second

1:41:01guessing this whole thing he's really

1:41:04wondering he's really thinking to

1:41:06himself oh man how on Earth am I going

1:41:10to do this how in the world am I going

1:41:14to get this done let's read it again

1:41:17quickly now a tired but determined man

1:41:20decided to paint his house by himself

1:41:22over the the weekend starting early on

1:41:25Saturday morning with nothing but a

1:41:27paintbrush and some old cans of paint

1:41:29but realized halfway through he should

1:41:32have hired help as he was now covered in

1:41:34paint from head to toe and had barely

1:41:37made any progress wondering how on Earth

1:41:40he'd finish by Sunday my dear dear

1:41:43students if you have made it this far in

1:41:46the video you are a rock star you're

1:41:49doing really great and you are taking

1:42:06boss the final boss of this super

1:42:09sentence what's the final boss it's kind

1:42:12of a video game term right like if

1:42:15you're playing a Mario game the final

1:42:18boss is Bowser okay our final boss is

1:42:21level 10 this is a big fat super

1:42:26sentence do you remember how small it

1:42:29was when we began this video now we've

1:42:32stretched it all the way to this

1:42:36monstrous size this colossal size this

1:42:41huge size right if this is the longest

1:42:45sentence you have ever spoken in your

1:42:47life I want you to let me know that down

1:42:50in the comments you can leave me a

1:42:52comment saying new record new record

1:42:56because my guess is that for a lot of

1:42:58you you've never even spoken a sentence

1:43:01this long so this is New Territory new

1:43:06territory this is something new for you

1:43:09guys and that's great we do not learn

1:43:12anything by remaining in our comfort

1:43:15zone by staying in our little bubble

1:43:18right we have to break out of the

1:43:20comfort zone we have to leave our little

1:43:22bubble

1:43:23and try new things so you guys are doing

1:43:27awesome let's read it slowly at

1:43:30first a tired but determined man decided

1:43:34to paint his house by himself over the

1:43:37weekend starting early on Saturday

1:43:39morning with nothing but a paintbrush

1:43:42and some old cans of paint but realized

1:43:46halfway through he should have hired

1:43:48help as he was now covered in paint from

1:43:51head to toe and had barely made any

1:43:55progress wondering how on Earth he'd

1:43:58finish by Sunday and finally decided to

1:44:01throw in the towel and call a

1:44:04professional it looks like we have a

1:44:06happy ending to this ridiculous

1:44:09situation to the situation that seemed

1:44:12to spiral out of control it seemed to

1:44:16really get out of hand that means it

1:44:21reached a place that was beyond control

1:44:25it became untenable it became unworkable

1:44:29it became something that was really just

1:44:32you know beyond this guy's ability to

1:44:35deal with okay so finally in the end he

1:44:39threw in the towel that is today's idiom

1:44:42you guys know that I try to teach a new

1:44:45idiom with every new video this is a

1:44:48really useful one a really spoken

1:44:50English idiom that people actually use

1:44:54it just means you give up right you're

1:44:57trying to do something you give up you

1:45:00throw in the towel so what does he do

1:45:02when he throws in the towel he calls a

1:45:06professional maybe he picks up the phone

1:45:09and he calls a house painting service

1:45:13and he says hey guys I'm in over my head

1:45:17I'm really in over my head here another

1:45:21idiom what does that mean think of it as

1:45:24like being underwater right I'm in over

1:45:27my head I'm drowning here right I need

1:45:32help so he calls the professionals and

1:45:35you know that's the end of our story

1:45:37here so it's a happy ending one can only

1:45:41assume I assume that the professionals

1:45:44come and they finish the job and they

1:45:47make it look amazing let's say it one

1:45:49more time are you ready quick speed

1:45:52really feel feel the burn guys push

1:45:55yourselves a tired but determined man

1:45:57decided to paint his house by himself

1:45:59over the weekend starting early on

1:46:02Saturday morning with nothing but a

1:46:03paintbrush and some old cans of paint

1:46:06but realized halfway through he should

1:46:08have hired help as he was now covered in

1:46:10paint from head to toe and had barely

1:46:13made any progress wondering how on Earth

1:46:15he'd be finished by Sunday and finally

1:46:18decided to throw in the towel and call a

1:46:21professional take your hand and give

1:46:23yourself a pat on the back because you

1:46:26deserve it you've made it all the way

1:46:28through this monstrosity of a super

1:46:31sentence but guess what the video isn't

1:46:34over yet let's have a cool down activity

1:46:38so just to

1:46:39reiterate just to reiterate just to

1:46:43explain it again to let you guys know

1:46:46one more time the idiom in this video

1:46:48was throwing in the towel what does that

1:46:51mean it means admit defeat when

1:46:54something is too difficult but actually

1:46:56you know there are a lot of ways to

1:46:59express this idea in English yes you can

1:47:02just say give up that's fine you can

1:47:05also say wave a white flag like you are

1:47:09surrendering right like you are uh in a

1:47:12battle or in a war and you are giving up

1:47:15you are surrendering to the enemy forces

1:47:19okay you could also say call it a day

1:47:22call it a day call it a day you give up

1:47:26H you quit I'm going to call it a day

1:47:29now this one's a little more casual

1:47:31right like maybe you're just at work and

1:47:33you're working really hard and you

1:47:35decide it's time to go home you're not

1:47:37really giving up on your work you're

1:47:39just saying that's enough for today so

1:47:41you can say call it a day here's a

1:47:44really intense one fold Under Pressure

1:47:48there's so much pressure there's so much

1:47:51stress that you fold right so this one

1:47:54is kind of

1:47:56involuntary

1:47:58involuntary what does that mean that

1:48:00means you didn't make the decision to

1:48:03give up you didn't choose to throw in

1:48:05the towel you were forced to give up it

1:48:08was

1:48:09involuntary you didn't do it

1:48:13voluntarily right it was involuntary one

1:48:16more packet in pack it in this one I

1:48:20would say is the most similar to throw

1:48:23in the towel you decide to pack it in

1:48:26you decide to pack it in so guys what

1:48:29we're going to do now is we're going to

1:48:31have a on minute speaking challenge I

1:48:35have a question for you here have you

1:48:37ever thrown in the towel on a hobby or

1:48:40project and what I'd like you to do is

1:48:43push yourself to speak for a full minute

1:48:47talk for a full minute I'm going to set

1:48:49a timer and give you a demonstration of

1:48:52what I'd like you to try and do first so

1:48:55first watch me I'll show you how I'd

1:48:58like you to try and respond to this

1:49:00question all right guys so here's my

1:49:03personal connection here's my uh

1:49:05connection to my life uh when I think

1:49:08about throw in the towel when I think

1:49:10about this question I think about a

1:49:13fitness goal that I had last year I

1:49:16started watching these videos on YouTube

1:49:19about this exercise called a muscle up a

1:49:22muscle up a muscle up is when you grab a

1:49:26hold of a pull-up bar and you first do a

1:49:29pull-up right you first do a pull-up

1:49:33then you push up and over the bar and

1:49:36you push up and kind of do like a dip

1:49:39right so this is a really challenging

1:49:42physical exercise but I was watching

1:49:45these videos uh on YouTube and I saw

1:49:48these people who could do it really well

1:49:50right and they made it look really easy

1:49:52so I decided I wanted to try and try and

1:49:55do it I went out every day and practiced

1:49:58pull-ups but in the end I threw in the

1:50:00towel it was too hard I gave up that was

1:50:04my example I pushed myself to talk for

1:50:06the full minute I didn't stop talking

1:50:09and that's what I want you guys to do

1:50:11too don't worry about making mistakes

1:50:14just keep going we need to train

1:50:16ourselves to get comfortable talking at

1:50:19length talking for long periods of time

1:50:22so here's your minute go for

1:50:51it e

1:51:24what better place to kick things off

Episode 7 ✅

1:51:27than level one right so we've got a

1:51:29short sentence here let's take a look

1:51:31and read it together slow speed the

1:51:34first time let's go a guy sees a cute

1:51:39girl at the bookstore one more time a

1:51:42little bit faster now a guy sees a cute

1:51:47girl at the bookstore okay interesting

1:51:50we've been introduced to our two main

1:51:53characters here we have a guy and we

1:51:56have a girl and they are both at a

1:51:59bookstore right they are

1:52:02browsing they are

1:52:04perusing they are looking around for

1:52:07something good to read maybe flipping

1:52:10through a book here and there well the

1:52:12guy sees the girl and guess what she's

1:52:16not just any girl she's a cute girl so

1:52:20maybe this guy is interested in her

1:52:23maybe he wants to try and flirt with her

1:52:27maybe he wants to try and get her phone

1:52:30number I'm not sure what's going to

1:52:32happen next but let's read this level

1:52:35one sentence one last time together

1:52:37quickly now and then we'll move on a guy

1:52:41sees a cute girl at the bookstore we've

1:52:44leveled up for the first time and you

1:52:46can see that I have added some blue text

1:52:49to the super sentence yeah we have

1:52:52stretched it longer okay so let's try

1:52:55saying the new sentence together slowly

1:52:58at first a guy sees a cute girl at the

1:53:03bookstore and works up the nerve to talk

1:53:06to her M okay one more time medium speed

1:53:11a guy sees a cute girl at the bookstore

1:53:15and works up the nerve to talk to her

1:53:18okay so in level one I made a prediction

1:53:21right guy sees a cute girl he thinks

1:53:24she's cute so my prediction was he was

1:53:28going to go and try to flirt with her

1:53:31tried to get her phone number tried to

1:53:33do something to get her attention right

1:53:36and here we can see in level two he's

1:53:38starting to think more about it he is

1:53:41working up the nerve to talk to her yeah

1:53:45he's psyching himself up he's drumming

1:53:49up the courage working up the courage

1:53:53all of these are different ways of

1:53:55saying that he's trying to find the

1:53:58confidence to go over there and talk to

1:54:02her yeah to start a conversation with

1:54:06her start a dialogue with her we could

1:54:09also say chitchat with her that's a bit

1:54:12more casual right just have a chat with

1:54:15her so let's say level two again at a

1:54:18quick speed ready a guy sees a cute girl

1:54:22at the bookstore and works up the nerve

1:54:24to talk to her again a guy sees a cute

1:54:28girl at the bookstore and works up the

1:54:31nerve to talk to her man I remember when

1:54:34I first started dating how difficult it

1:54:37was to work up the nerve to talk to

1:54:40girls I was very nervous very shy it was

1:54:44not easy to work up the nerve or find

1:54:48the confidence to go and start talking

1:54:51to them what about you guys when you

1:54:54first started dating did you find it

1:54:56difficult to work up the nerve to talk

1:54:59to people you can let me know in the

1:55:01comments section moving right along to

1:55:04level three let's just dive right into

1:55:06it with a slow read ready a guy sees a

1:55:11cute girl at the bookstore and works up

1:55:14the nerve to talk to her heart racing as

1:55:18he walks over ooh One More Time medium

1:55:21speed

1:55:22a guy sees a cute girl at the bookstore

1:55:25and works up the nerve to talk to her

1:55:28heart racing as he walks over okay so we

1:55:32can see that this guy is pretty nervous

1:55:34about this

1:55:36interaction he's getting ready to go and

1:55:39talk to her and he's worked up the nerve

1:55:42he's started to walk over and as he's

1:55:45walking over at the same time that he's

1:55:48walking over his heart is racing bu bum

1:55:52bum bum bu bum bu bu bu bu beating

1:55:56faster and faster in his chest maybe the

1:56:01closer he gets the faster it beats and

1:56:04it feels like it's going to beat right

1:56:07out of his chest that's an expression we

1:56:10sometimes say if you're really really

1:56:12excited or nervous or worked up I felt

1:56:16like my heart was going to beat right

1:56:19out of my chest okay again with a quick

1:56:22read here we go a guy sees a cute girl

1:56:25at the bookstore and works up the nerve

1:56:27to talk to her heart racing as he walks

1:56:30over last time a guy sees a cute girl at

1:56:33the bookstore and works up the nerve to

1:56:35talk to her heart racing as he walks

1:56:37over Dude I am on the edge of my seat

1:56:40with today's super sentence I can't wait

1:56:43to see what's going to happen next what

1:56:45do you guys think is he going to hit it

1:56:48off is he going to hit it off with this

1:56:53girl in other words are they going to

1:56:56get along well and like each other

1:56:59immediately or maybe she's going to be a

1:57:02bit standoffish standoffish maybe she's

1:57:05going to be a bit like who are you I

1:57:08don't know you why are you talking to me

1:57:10I don't know let's find out okay level

1:57:13four slow read here we go a guy sees a

1:57:17cute girl at the bookstore and works up

1:57:20the nerve to talk to her her heart

1:57:23racing as he walks over trying to think

1:57:26of something clever okay let's say it

1:57:30again medium speed a guy sees a cute

1:57:33girl at the bookstore and works up the

1:57:36nerve to talk to her heart racing as he

1:57:39walks over trying to think of something

1:57:41clever oh man I feel like this is not

1:57:44looking too good for the guy in the

1:57:47story yeah it's not looking good for him

1:57:51why do I say that because he still

1:57:53hasn't thought of anything to say you

1:57:56know he worked up the nerve he's walking

1:57:59over he had all this time to think of

1:58:02something to say but guess what he still

1:58:06hasn't thought of anything he is still

1:58:09trying to think of something clever

1:58:12clever just means something smart

1:58:15something creative maybe something that

1:58:17will make her interested in him

1:58:20something that will make her laugh

1:58:22something that will make her smile and

1:58:24maybe he's trying to think of something

1:58:26clever to say maybe he's trying to think

1:58:30of something clever to do maybe he's

1:58:33trying to think of something to say or

1:58:35do but he's drawing a blank oh no he's

1:58:41drawing a blank that means his mind is

1:58:44blank he's struggling to think of

1:58:47anything it's like somebody has erased

1:58:50all of his thoughts right so he's kind

1:58:53of in trouble let's read this one last

1:58:55time at a quick speed ready a guy sees a

1:58:58cute girl at the bookstore and works up

1:59:01the nerve to talk to her heart racing as

1:59:03he walks over trying to think of

1:59:05something clever level five guys it is

1:59:09getting pretty difficult so if you're

1:59:11starting to struggle don't worry don't

1:59:14worry keep going keep working that

1:59:16spoken English muscle okay no pain no

1:59:21gain that's what I always say let's take

1:59:23a look slowly at first a guy sees a cute

1:59:28girl at the bookstore and works up the

1:59:30nerve to talk to her heart racing as he

1:59:34walks over trying to think of something

1:59:36clever but he ends up making a lame

1:59:40comment about the weather oh no this guy

1:59:44what does he end up doing in other words

1:59:47in the end after all of that waiting

1:59:50what does he do he makes a lame comment

1:59:54about the weather so boring right he was

1:59:59trying to think of something uh to get

2:00:01her attention to make her smile to make

2:00:04her laugh to uh uh uh Peak her interest

2:00:08right to Peak her interest but the only

2:00:11thing he can think of is a lame comment

2:00:14about the weather what is lame lame is

2:00:17like the opposite of cool right so not

2:00:21cool

2:00:22really kind of uh embarrassing right

2:00:26let's read it again quickly now a guy

2:00:29sees a cute girl at the bookstore and

2:00:31works up the nerve to talk to her heart

2:00:34racing as he walks over trying to think

2:00:36of something clever but he ends up

2:00:38making a lame comment about the weather

2:00:41level six slow read here we go a guy

2:00:45sees a cute girl at the bookstore and

2:00:47works up the nerve to talk to her heart

2:00:50racing as he walks over

2:00:52trying to think of something clever but

2:00:55he ends up making a lame comment about

2:00:57the weather which sounds way more

2:01:00Awkward than he hoped but she smiles

2:01:03anyway okay so we've got a glimmer of

2:01:06hope a glimmer of hope there's still a

2:01:09small chance that this guy can win the

2:01:12heart of this girl even though he made a

2:01:16lame comment about the weather which

2:01:19sounded really awkward it didn't come

2:01:22out right it didn't sound the way he was

2:01:25hoping that it would sound guess what

2:01:28happens she smiles anyway maybe she can

2:01:31see how nervous he is and maybe she

2:01:34thinks that's endearing in other words

2:01:37maybe she thinks that's cute and sweet

2:01:41you know and likable maybe she's even a

2:01:44little bit flattered that he's so

2:01:46nervous flattered right she sees how

2:01:50nervous he is and she realizes wow he

2:01:54must really like me if I make him so

2:01:57nervous so maybe that's a little bit

2:01:59flattering okay let's read it one more

2:02:02time quick speed then we'll level up

2:02:04again a guy sees a cute girl at the

2:02:06bookstore and works up the nerve to talk

2:02:08to her heart racing as he walks over

2:02:11trying to think of something clever but

2:02:13he ends up making a lame comment about

2:02:16the weather which sounds way more

2:02:18Awkward than he hoped but she smiles

2:02:21anyway level seven this is no Weenie Hut

2:02:25Jr anymore this is getting really tough

2:02:28even for a native speaker this is a real

2:02:31mouthful now and I would like to take a

2:02:33quick moment to remind you guys if you

2:02:35still haven't liked the video please

2:02:37take one second to do that leave me a

2:02:40comment make sure you're subscribed

2:02:42maybe even check out channel membership

2:02:44if you want PDFs and extra videos okay

2:02:47slow speed now a guy sees a cute girl at

2:02:51the the bookstore and works up the nerve

2:02:54to talk to her heart rcing as he walks

2:02:58over trying to think of something clever

2:03:01but he ends up making a lame comment

2:03:04about the weather which sounds way more

2:03:07Awkward than he hoped but she smiles

2:03:10anyway and teases him for it it sounds

2:03:14like this girl is playing along it

2:03:17sounds like she has a good attitude

2:03:20about this whole situ situation she's

2:03:23teasing him playfully right she's poking

2:03:26fun at him yeah she's not making fun of

2:03:30him in a mean-hearted or uh

2:03:33mean-spirited way right no she's doing

2:03:36it in a fun way in a friendly way in a

2:03:40playful way she's saying H you're kind

2:03:42of nervous aren't you I can see that

2:03:45you're a little nervous she's poking fun

2:03:47at him just a little bit I really want

2:03:49to see what happens next so let's say it

2:03:52one more time then level up again

2:03:54quickly now a guy sees a cute girl at

2:03:57the bookstore and works up the nerve to

2:03:59talk to her heart racing as he walks

2:04:01over trying to think of something clever

2:04:04but he ends up making a lame comment

2:04:06about the weather which sounds way more

2:04:08Awkward than he hoped but she smiles

2:04:10anyway and teases him for it level eight

2:04:13guys we're getting so close I believe in

2:04:16you you can do this okay push yourself

2:04:19slow read here we go a guy sees a cute

2:04:22girl at the bookstore and works up the

2:04:25nerve to talk to her heart racing as he

2:04:28walks over trying to think of something

2:04:31clever but he ends up making a lame

2:04:34comment about the weather which sounds

2:04:36way more Awkward than he hoped but she

2:04:39smiles anyway and teases him for it

2:04:41asking what kind of books he's into it

2:04:44looks like there's still hope for our

2:04:46guy main character here because the girl

2:04:49is kind of taking control of this

2:04:52conversation and steering it into a new

2:04:56Direction it's almost as if this

2:04:58conversation is a ship or a boat right

2:05:01and the guy was sailing the boat at

2:05:04first and he was steering right into an

2:05:07iceberg with all of his awkward lame

2:05:10weather talk but then the girl took hold

2:05:14of the wheel right at the Helm of the

2:05:17ship and now she's sailing it away from

2:05:21the ice ber out of the path of danger

2:05:24and into smooth sailing into clear

2:05:28waters right it looks like there's still

2:05:30hope because she's taking this

2:05:33conversation in a New Direction asking

2:05:37what kind of books he's into what does

2:05:39that mean into into just means

2:05:43interested in I could say what kind of

2:05:46video games are you into that means what

2:05:49kind of video games are you interested

2:05:51in so hopefully they will have a shared

2:05:54interest in a genre right maybe they

2:05:56both like romance books maybe they both

2:05:59like mystery novels something like that

2:06:02hopefully fingers crossed they will have

2:06:05something in common okay let's say this

2:06:08sentence one more time quickly now a guy

2:06:11sees a cute girl at the bookstore and

2:06:13works up the nerve to talk to her heart

2:06:16racing as he walks over trying to think

2:06:18of something clever but he ends up

2:06:21making a lame comment about the weather

2:06:23which sounds way more Awkward than he

2:06:25hoped but she smiles anyway and teases

2:06:28him for it asking what kind of books

2:06:30he's into we're in the final stretch

2:06:33guys get your second wind find your

2:06:36second wind that means you had energy

2:06:39you used your energy now you're tired

2:06:42but you can find a second wind and get

2:06:44your energy back for the final stretch

2:06:47for the last two levels okay slow read

2:06:50of level 9ine a guy sees a cute girl at

2:06:53the bookstore and works up the nerve to

2:06:56talk to her heart racing as he walks

2:06:58over trying to think of something clever

2:07:02but he ends up making a lame comment

2:07:04about the weather which sounds way more

2:07:07Awkward than he hoped but she smiles

2:07:10anyway and teases him for it asking what

2:07:13kind of books he's into giving him the

2:07:16perfect chance to flirt back yeah this

2:07:20girl is really giving him the perfect

2:07:22chance the perfect opportunity a perfect

2:07:26window of opportunity right to try again

2:07:30you know maybe they can forget about all

2:07:33of the lame awkward weather talk maybe

2:07:36they can put that behind them put it

2:07:39behind them and move on if he can prove

2:07:43that he can try again and maybe more

2:07:46successfully this time right one more

2:07:49time quickly a guy sees a cute girl at

2:07:52the bookstore and works up the nerve to

2:07:54talk to her heart racing as he walks

2:07:56over trying to think of something clever

2:07:58but he ends up making a lame comment

2:08:01about the weather which sounds way more

2:08:03Awkward than he hoped but she smiles

2:08:05anyway and teases him for it asking what

2:08:08kind of books he's into giving him the

2:08:10perfect chance to flirt

2:08:13back guys we've made it to the final

2:08:16boss of this super sentences video I'll

2:08:19tell you what because you've worked so

2:08:21hard getting all the way here to level

2:08:2410 we will only read level 10 one time

2:08:28at a medium speed ready here we go a guy

2:08:32sees a cute girl at the bookstore and

2:08:35works up the nerve to talk to her heart

2:08:37racing as he walks over trying to think

2:08:40of something clever but he ends up

2:08:43making a lame comment about the weather

2:08:46which sounds way more Awkward than he

2:08:48hoped but she smiles anyway and teases

2:08:51him for it asking what kind of books

2:08:53he's into giving him the perfect chance

2:08:56to flirt back and by the time they

2:08:59exchange numbers he's on Cloud9 we have

2:09:02a happy ending to this roller coaster

2:09:06this complete roller coaster of a super

2:09:09sentence right from the very beginning

2:09:12we were uncertain about what was going

2:09:15to happen are they going to hit it off

2:09:18or is he going to crash and burn right

2:09:22but in the end we see that they exchange

2:09:25numbers he gets her phone number she

2:09:28gets his phone number right and by the

2:09:31time they do that he is on cloud n now

2:09:35I'm sure a lot of you guys already know

2:09:38this expression but it's a really useful

2:09:41one a really fun one just means that you

2:09:43are over the moon there's another idiom

2:09:48do you guys know how much I love idioms

2:09:51over over the moon on Cloud9 just means

2:09:54you are so so happy in fact it's more

2:09:57than happiness I would say that it's

2:10:00when someone feels

2:10:02ecstatic ecstatic is like extreme

2:10:06happiness happiness to the point of

2:10:09bliss you are blissed out you are just

2:10:12like man today can't get any better

2:10:15things are perfect no workout is

2:10:19complete without a cool cool down

2:10:21activity so that's what we're going to

2:10:23do now guys like I just explained the

2:10:26idiom on Cloud9 describes feeling

2:10:29extremely happy or euphoric yeah extreme

2:10:34happiness right so in this case the

2:10:37guy's Awkward start leads to a fun

2:10:39flirty exchange and by the end he's

2:10:42feeling on top of the world there's

2:10:44another great idiom over the moon on

2:10:48Cloud9 on top of the world they all mean

2:10:52the same thing they mean that this guy

2:10:54is feeling great he's feeling perfect

2:10:57he's feeling so so happy so here's my

2:11:00question for you and what we're going to

2:11:02do is push ourselves to reply to this

2:11:06question yeah just speak out loud

2:11:08quickly or slowly it's up to you uh for

2:11:11a full minute and here's the question

2:11:13have you ever felt like you were on

2:11:16Cloud9 now I'm going to go first and

2:11:18give you a demonstration of how I would

2:11:21like you to try and push yourself to

2:11:24talk for this full minute here's my

2:11:27minute to be honest I've been over the

2:11:30moon all week I've been on cloud n all

2:11:35week I've felt on top of the world all

2:11:39week long why because my channel here on

2:11:44YouTube just hit a 100,000 subscribers

2:11:48and not just 100,000 I think by the time

2:11:51this video comes out maybe we'll be at

2:11:55107,000 the channel is growing so

2:11:57quickly and it is always been my dream

2:12:01to successfully make content and make

2:12:04videos that people actually watch and as

2:12:07an English teacher make videos that

2:12:10actually help people so it's so amazing

2:12:13to you know get to a point in my journey

2:12:16where that's starting to happen you know

2:12:19next stop I would love to hit a million

2:12:21subscribers but I'm going to take it

2:12:23slow this week I'm just on cloud n so

2:12:28guys that's my personal connection

2:12:31that's how this expression relates to me

2:12:35and my life what about you push yourself

2:12:38for that full minute go

2:12:50ahead e

2:13:40level one of today's super sentence you

Episode 8 ✅

2:13:43can say with me or pause the video and

2:13:47repeat after me slowly at first a man

2:13:51makes an Impulse buy online one more

2:13:55time a little bit faster now a man makes

2:13:58an Impulse by online Okay so we've got a

2:14:02main character for today's super

2:14:04sentence right we know that today's

2:14:07sentence is going to be about this man

2:14:10what is this man doing he's buying

2:14:13something right where is he buying it

2:14:16he's buying it online on the internet

2:14:20right and how is he buying it

2:14:23interesting how is he buying it he's

2:14:26buying it

2:14:28impulsively impulsively what does it

2:14:30mean to buy something impulsively if you

2:14:34do something impulsively then that means

2:14:37you don't think about it before you do

2:14:39it you just do it you go with your gut

2:14:43and you do something this guy was on the

2:14:45internet he was shopping around he was

2:14:48looking at this he was looking at that

2:14:51then he saw something that he liked he

2:14:53didn't think about it right he hadn't

2:14:56been planning to buy it for weeks and

2:14:58weeks and weeks saving up money to do so

2:15:01no he saw it he wanted it he bought it

2:15:05so we call that an Impulse buy let's

2:15:07practice saying level one at a quick

2:15:09speed together and then we'll move on

2:15:11ready a man makes an Impulse buy online

2:15:16again a man makes an Impulse buy online

2:15:19a third time a man makes an Impulse by

2:15:22online level two of our super sentence

2:15:25you can see that I've added some blue

2:15:28text some blue words yeah we've taken

2:15:31this small little sentence and we've

2:15:33begun to stretch it longer and longer

2:15:36that's what we're going to do with each

2:15:38level so let's begin level two with a

2:15:41slow read once again you can say it with

2:15:44me as I say it or you can pause the

2:15:47video and you can repeat after okay

2:15:50let's take a look a man makes an Impulse

2:15:54by online while Doom scrolling before

2:15:58bed one more time medium speed a man

2:16:02makes an Impulse by online while Doom

2:16:05scrolling before bed all right so what

2:16:08are we learning about the situation here

2:16:10in level two well he's getting ready for

2:16:13bed but he's not quite ready yet because

2:16:16what is he doing here's a really

2:16:19interesting really native expression

2:16:22Doom scrolling Doom scrolling actually I

2:16:26would guess that a lot of native

2:16:27speakers don't even know this word don't

2:16:30even know how to use it it's kind of an

2:16:33internet slang term Doom scrolling Doom

2:16:37scrolling I'm sure we've all done this

2:16:40if you doom scroll then you take your

2:16:42phone and you go on a social media app

2:16:45like Instagram right and you scroll

2:16:48scroll scroll scroll you just keep going

2:16:52and going and going and you feel like

2:16:54you can't stop right let's practice

2:16:57saying level two at a quick speed are

2:16:59you ready a man makes an Impulse buy

2:17:02online while Doom scrolling before bed

2:17:05one more time a man makes an Impulse by

2:17:08online while Doom scrolling before bed

2:17:11awesome we've leveled up again our super

2:17:14sentence is getting more and more

2:17:16complex more challenging more difficult

2:17:19okay let's lead level three together at

2:17:22a slow speed let's take a look a man

2:17:26makes an Impulse buy online while Doom

2:17:29scrolling before bed adding a blender to

2:17:33his cart One More Time medium speed a

2:17:37man makes an Impulse buy online while

2:17:40Doom scrolling before bed adding a

2:17:43blender to his cart okay so now we can

2:17:46see what this guy bought right he I

2:17:49guess was in the market for in the

2:17:53market for a blender a blender yeah you

2:17:57guys know blender right you can use it

2:17:59in your kitchen uh it's an appliance an

2:18:02electronic appliance that we use to

2:18:04blend things up right maybe you want to

2:18:07make a fruit smoothie you put a bunch of

2:18:10different fruits and powders and maybe

2:18:12milk and Ice into a blender you turn it

2:18:15on I guess this guy was in the market

2:18:19for a blender in in the market for in

2:18:22other words maybe he's been needing a

2:18:24blender but then again maybe he hasn't

2:18:27been needing a blender because remember

2:18:29this is an Impulse buy so actually come

2:18:32to think of it maybe he isn't even in

2:18:36the market for a blender in other words

2:18:39maybe this is something he really

2:18:41doesn't even need maybe it's something

2:18:44really unnecessary if you are in the

2:18:47market for something then you are

2:18:49planning to buy it because you need it

2:18:52right for example I'm in the market for

2:18:54new boots for this fall right I need new

2:18:57fall boots I don't have any so I'm in

2:19:01the market for fall boots who knows if

2:19:04this guy was really in the market for a

2:19:06blender or not but we do know that he

2:19:09bought it online

2:19:11impulsively which tells me it was

2:19:14probably unnecessary right let's say it

2:19:17one more time at a quick speed and then

2:19:19we'll level up again ready a man makes

2:19:23an Impulse buy online while Doom

2:19:25scrolling before bed adding a blender to

2:19:27his cart level four getting more and

2:19:30more difficult more and more challenging

2:19:32guys we are working out that spoken

2:19:35English muscle in the same way you would

2:19:38work out your biceps or your back or

2:19:41your other muscle groups at the gym

2:19:43right we are working out our spoken

2:19:46English muscles so let's read level four

2:19:49slowly at first a man makes an Impulse

2:19:52buy online while Doom scrolling before

2:19:55bed adding a blender to his cart without

2:19:58checking the reviews uhoh that's not a

2:20:01great idea huh let's read it again

2:20:03medium speed a man makes an Impulse by

2:20:06online while Doom scrolling before bed

2:20:09adding a blender to his cart without

2:20:11checking the reviews I think we all know

2:20:14that when you are online shopping it's a

2:20:17great idea to check the reviews what are

2:20:20people saying about the product how are

2:20:24they reviewing the product are they

2:20:27leaving good reviews or are they leaving

2:20:30bad reviews are they giving fstar

2:20:33reviews or are they giving one star

2:20:36reviews right although I'll be honest

2:20:39these days it's kind of hard to be sure

2:20:42right because a lot of products on the

2:20:44internet have fake reviews so even if

2:20:48something has a bunch of festar review

2:20:50views maybe the person selling the

2:20:53product the seller of the product simply

2:20:57paid for those reviews right maybe

2:21:00they're fake maybe they're Bots Bots

2:21:03like robots online right but anyway this

2:21:07guy he did not check the reviews of this

2:21:09blender and maybe that decision will

2:21:12come back to haunt him come back to

2:21:16haunt him in other words maybe it's a

2:21:19decision that he will end up regretting

2:21:22later on later down the road okay let's

2:21:26say it one more time quickly now a man

2:21:29makes an Impulse by online while Doom

2:21:31scrolling before bed adding a blender to

2:21:34his cart without checking the reviews

2:21:36one more time a man makes an Impulse by

2:21:38online while Doom scrolling before bed

2:21:41adding a blender to his cart without

2:21:43checking the reviews level five if you

2:21:45guys are still with me you are killing

2:21:48it you are killing it you're doing a

2:21:50really good job and we are already

2:21:52halfway there so push yourself keep

2:21:55going you will be glad you did because

2:21:58your English speaking skills are going

2:22:00to get better and better let's do a slow

2:22:03read a man makes an Impulse by online

2:22:07while Doom scrolling before bed adding a

2:22:10blender to his cart without checking the

2:22:12reviews thinking he found a steal One

2:22:15More Time medium speed a man makes an

2:22:18Impulse buy online while Doom scrolling

2:22:21before bed adding a blender to his cart

2:22:24without checking the reviews thinking he

2:22:26found a steel what does it mean if you

2:22:28say something is a steel oh uh that

2:22:31winter coat is such a steel oh those

2:22:35headphones are such a steel oh that

2:22:37computer wow what a deal that computer

2:22:40is such a steal if something is such a

2:22:43steel then that means you are getting a

2:22:46great deal by buying it it's such a good

2:22:49deal that it almost feels like you're

2:22:52stealing it right like you are getting

2:22:55away with something getting away with st

2:23:01something feels like you're getting away

2:23:03with something almost like you are

2:23:05committing a crime or doing something

2:23:08you shouldn't be doing something you're

2:23:10not supposed to be doing right because

2:23:13how can something be such a good deal

2:23:16let's say it one more time quickly now a

2:23:18man makes an Impulse by online while

2:23:20Doom scrolling before bed adding a

2:23:23blender to his cart without checking the

2:23:25reviews thinking he found a steel level

2:23:28six push yourself slowly at first a man

2:23:31makes an Impulse by online while Doom

2:23:34scrolling before bed adding a blender to

2:23:38his cart without checking the reviews

2:23:41thinking he found a steel and waits two

2:23:44weeks for delivery okay once more medium

2:23:47speed a man makes an Impulse by online

2:23:50while Doom scrolling before bed adding a

2:23:53blender to his cart without checking the

2:23:55reviews thinking he found a steel and

2:23:58waits 2 weeks for delivery okay so

2:24:03anticipation

2:24:06anticipation is

2:24:08building anticipation is building he is

2:24:12eagerly awaiting the arrival of this

2:24:15blender this impulse buy right he made

2:24:19an Impulse by he's excited about it he

2:24:22didn't even check the reviews he just

2:24:24saw it and he knew he wanted it so he

2:24:27purchased it now he's waiting two weeks

2:24:30for it to be delivered for it to arrive

2:24:34at his house and yeah he's filled with

2:24:37anticipation he's eager he can't wait to

2:24:40get his hands on that blender maybe he's

2:24:42planning to use it in his cooking

2:24:45routine at home maybe he wants to make

2:24:47more smoothies and live a more healthy

2:24:50lifestyle right but he's waiting waiting

2:24:53waiting for this blender to show up one

2:24:56more time quickly before we level up a

2:24:59man makes an Impulse buy online while

2:25:01Doom scrolling before bed adding a

2:25:03blender to his cart without checking the

2:25:06reviews thinking he found a steal and

2:25:08waits 2 weeks for delivery all right

2:25:11guys we're at level seven now and this

2:25:13is no weeny Hut Jr anymore this is

2:25:16getting really challenging really

2:25:19difficult right so let's cut out the

2:25:21slow speed we're going to jump right to

2:25:23medium speed a man makes an Impulse by

2:25:26online while Doom scrolling before bed

2:25:29adding a blender to his cart without

2:25:31checking the reviews thinking he found a

2:25:34steel and waits 2 weeks for delivery

2:25:37imagining all the fancy smoothies he'll

2:25:39make ah okay so he is planning on making

2:25:43smoothies and not just any kind of

2:25:46ordinary smoothie fancy smoothies right

2:25:49so he's really gonna shell

2:25:53out shell out for these smoothies huh

2:25:56shell out what does that mean if you

2:25:59shell out for something that means you

2:26:01spend a lot of money to make it good you

2:26:05spend a lot of money for a high level of

2:26:09quality right like uh you know let's say

2:26:12I'm redesigning my living room and I

2:26:14want to turn it into a man

2:26:17cave what's a man cave

2:26:20a man cave is a kind of a stereotypical

2:26:24idea of what a guy would do when

2:26:28designing a room to make it the most

2:26:31enjoyable thing for guys right like

2:26:34maybe there's football decorations maybe

2:26:37he's got a really big TV maybe he's got

2:26:41like a gaming console set up he's got

2:26:43beer he's got foosball you know he's got

2:26:46a poker table etc etc that's a man cave

2:26:51kind of a room that men would really

2:26:53enjoy right so let's say that I want to

2:26:57redesign my living room and turn it into

2:27:01a man cave okay I'm not just going to

2:27:03buy a deck of cards and you know a cheap

2:27:06gaming console I'm going to Shell out

2:27:10I'm going to Shell out and I'm going to

2:27:12buy the best of everything to make that

2:27:15man cave extra impressive one more time

2:27:19quick spe let's go a man makes an

2:27:22Impulse by online while Doom scrolling

2:27:24before bed adding a blender to his cart

2:27:27without checking the reviews thinking he

2:27:29found a steel and waits 2 weeks for

2:27:31delivery imagining all the fancy

2:27:34smoothies he'll make level eight we're

2:27:36almost there guys push push push keep

2:27:39going no pain no gain let's do a medium

2:27:43speed read of level eight a man makes an

2:27:46Impulse buy online while Doom scrolling

2:27:49before bed and adding a blender to his

2:27:51cart without checking the reviews

2:27:53thinking he found a steal and waits 2

2:27:56weeks for delivery imagining all the

2:27:58fancy smoothies he'll make but when it

2:28:01arrives it doesn't even turn on what a

2:28:04disaster what a nightmare he spent money

2:28:08to buy this blender he bought it

2:28:11impulsively he was thinking that it

2:28:14could turn his life around and you know

2:28:17help him achieve a healthier LIF style

2:28:20right a more healthy way of living but

2:28:25after waiting two long weeks for this

2:28:28blender to arrive when it does arrive it

2:28:32doesn't even turn on the thing is super

2:28:35low quality and it's Dead on Arrival

2:28:39Dead on Arrival the thing is broken and

2:28:42he hasn't even gotten a chance to use it

2:28:45once I feel kind of bad for this guy our

2:28:48main character right maybe he had

2:28:51already gotten all of the smoothie

2:28:53ingredients purchased and set up in his

2:28:56kitchen he was ready to go he was ready

2:28:59to make these fancy smoothies and get

2:29:02healthy get fit all he was missing was

2:29:05the blender that was the key missing

2:29:08piece of the puzzle right but when it

2:29:11arrived the darn thing didn't even work

2:29:14one more time level eight quick read

2:29:17here we go a man makes an Impulse byy on

2:29:20line while Doom scrolling before bed

2:29:22adding a blender to his cart without

2:29:24checking the reviews thinking he found a

2:29:26steel and waits 2 weeks for delivery

2:29:29imagining all the fancy smoothies he'll

2:29:31make but when it arrives it doesn't even

2:29:34turn on we are getting really close my

2:29:37friends medium speed read o that rhymes

2:29:40medium speed read medium speed read of

2:29:43level 9 here we go a man makes an

2:29:46Impulse by online while Doom scrolling

2:29:49before bed adding a blender to his cart

2:29:52without checking the reviews thinking he

2:29:54found a steel and waits 2 weeks for

2:29:57delivery imagining all the fancy

2:29:59smoothies he'll make but when it arrives

2:30:02it doesn't even turn on and he realizes

2:30:05there's no return policy what no this

2:30:11fancy smoothie uh situation is getting

2:30:14worse and worse right he didn't check

2:30:17the reviews he bought it impulsively

2:30:20and now just like I mentioned earlier

2:30:23that decision has come back to haunt him

2:30:27it's back to haunt him right because

2:30:31there's no return policy in other words

2:30:34there's no way for him to send it back

2:30:37and get his money back so he is stuck he

2:30:41is stuck with this broken blender one

2:30:45more time quickly a man makes an Impulse

2:30:48buy online while Dooms scrolling before

2:30:50bed adding a blender to his cart without

2:30:53checking the reviews thinking he found a

2:30:55steel and waits 2 weeks for delivery

2:30:58imagining all the fancy smoothies he'll

2:31:00make but when it arrives it doesn't even

2:31:03turn on and he realizes there's no

2:31:06return policy now guys we've reached

2:31:09level 10 the final boss of today's

2:31:11speaking lesson but before we jump into

2:31:14it I just quickly want to ask a favor of

2:31:17the audience please click like on this

2:31:19video it supports me so much as your

2:31:22YouTube English teacher make sure you're

2:31:24subscribed leave me a comment letting me

2:31:27know who you are and why you're learning

2:31:30English or why you like this video or

2:31:33dislike this video I'm open to your

2:31:36thoughts and opinions but guys your

2:31:38likes and subs and comments they make it

2:31:41possible for me to do what I do without

2:31:44you guys there would be no English is

2:31:46easy so thank you for all of your

2:31:48support and let take a look at level 10

2:31:52with a mediump speeed read a man makes

2:31:55an Impulse buy online while Doom

2:31:58scrolling before bed adding a blender to

2:32:00his cart without checking the reviews

2:32:03thinking he found a steel and waits two

2:32:06weeks for delivery imagining all the

2:32:08fancy smoothies he'll make but when it

2:32:11arrives it doesn't even turn on and he

2:32:14realizes there's no return policy so it

2:32:18ends up as an expensive door

2:32:21stop we have a pretty funny ending to

2:32:25this crazy roller coaster of a super

2:32:29sentence right what does he end up doing

2:32:33with this broken blender in other words

2:32:36in the end how does he make use of make

2:32:39use of this broken blender well it ends

2:32:42up as an expensive door stop yeah we use

2:32:46a door stop to prop open a door prop

2:32:50open you know if you don't want a door

2:32:52to close you can put something heavy in

2:32:55front of it right to prevent it from

2:32:57closing to stop it from closing right so

2:33:00that's what he ends up using this

2:33:02blender for he puts it in front of his

2:33:05door and uses it as a very expensive

2:33:09door stop all right so you know it's not

2:33:13an ideal

2:33:15situation it's not ideal it's not the

2:33:18best case scenario for this purchase by

2:33:21any means right by any stretch of the

2:33:24imagination this is not a best case

2:33:27scenario in fact it's basically a worst

2:33:30case scenario but this guy he's choosing

2:33:34to look on the bright side he's choosing

2:33:37to see the silver lining in this

2:33:40situation in other words he's going to

2:33:42make the most make the best of a bad

2:33:46situation and he's still going to use

2:33:49this broken blender in fact it seems

2:33:52like he found a pretty creative way to

2:33:54use it right so at least there's that at

2:33:57least it's not a complete waste of time

2:34:00and money and maybe our friend has

2:34:02learned a lesson about late night Doom

2:34:05scrolling impulse buying right okay guys

2:34:09final time reading this sentence quick

2:34:11speed let's go push one last time a man

2:34:15makes an Impulse byy online while Doom

2:34:17scrolling before bed adding a blender to

2:34:20his cart without checking the reviews

2:34:22thinking he found a steel and waits 2

2:34:25weeks for delivery imagining all the

2:34:27fancy smoothies he'll make but when it

2:34:30arrives it doesn't even turn on and he

2:34:32realizes there's no return policy so it

2:34:35ends up as an expensive door

2:34:39stop if you made it all the way through

2:34:43this crazy super sentence take your

2:34:45hand give yourself a pat on the back

2:34:49because you deserve it my friend now no

2:34:52great workout is complete without a

2:34:54cooldown activity so that's what we're

2:34:57going to do now just bring things down

2:35:00with a chill relaxed kind of exit

2:35:04activity for this video so we talked

2:35:06about impulse buys right it's a a

2:35:09purchase that you make without putting

2:35:11too much thought into it here's my

2:35:14question for you here's my question that

2:35:17we're going to think about and respond

2:35:19to have you ever made an Impulse by

2:35:22while scrolling online how did it pan

2:35:25out in other words how did things go was

2:35:28it a good decision this impulse by or

2:35:32was it a bad decision I want you guys to

2:35:34push yourselves to speak for a full

2:35:37minute you don't have to speak quickly

2:35:40or impressively or anything like that

2:35:42you don't have to use big words just

2:35:45push yourself to keep going for a full

2:35:48minute I'm going to go first to give you

2:35:50an idea of what I'd like you to try and

2:35:53do so here's my minute responding to

2:35:55this question you know actually for me

2:35:58this is a pretty relatable topic it's a

2:36:01pretty funny topic too because I make

2:36:05impulse purchases online all the time uh

2:36:09and these purchases usually have

2:36:12something to do with Fitness with

2:36:15working out because I always go through

2:36:18these phases these periods of time where

2:36:21I get really excited about working out

2:36:24right getting back in shape and I will

2:36:27go online I'll see something that's

2:36:29supposed to make Fitness working out

2:36:32easier and I get excited and I buy it

2:36:35and then it's delivered and I realize oh

2:36:38this thing is low quality or this thing

2:36:40is not very good or maybe I use it for

2:36:43one or two days and then I get bored of

2:36:46it one time I bought like a shake weight

2:36:48that was supposed to build muscle in

2:36:50your chest and the thing was so bad it

2:36:53just didn't work at all and that was a

2:36:56poor decision for sure all right that

2:36:59was my response my personal connection

2:37:01to this theme this idea of impulse buys

2:37:06what about you uh do you make impulse

2:37:09buys do you doom scroll late at night

2:37:12let me know push yourself for one minute

2:37:15and respond to this question go

2:37:18ahead e

Episode 9 ✅

2:38:17okay as promised we are starting off

2:38:20simple basic easy no worries here level

2:38:24one let's read it together slowly a man

2:38:29looks for his glasses one more time a

2:38:33little faster a man looks for his

2:38:36glasses Okay so we've got a main

2:38:39character here the super sentence today

2:38:42is about this guy this man and what is

2:38:45he doing he's looking for something we

2:38:48could also say he he's looking around

2:38:50for something we could also say that he

2:38:53is searching searching for something

2:38:56what is he looking for what is he

2:38:59searching for what is he trying to find

2:39:03his glasses this poor guy is looking for

2:39:06his glasses and that is not an easy

2:39:08thing to do because of course without

2:39:11your glasses you can't see anything you

2:39:14need to wear your glasses to find your

2:39:17glasses right so this is a little bit of

2:39:19a

2:39:20paradox paradox a paradox is like

2:39:24something that is true and not true at

2:39:27the same time it's a little bit

2:39:29philosophical let's say this sentence

2:39:31again at a quick speed at a fast speed

2:39:35and then we'll level up to level two and

2:39:37make things more challenging ready a man

2:39:40looks for his glasses again a man looks

2:39:43for his glasses one more time a man

2:39:47looks for his glasses okay guys we've

2:39:50leveled up to level two you can see that

2:39:52some blue text has been added to the

2:39:55sentence making it just a little bit

2:39:57more difficult that's what we're going

2:39:59to do in each and every one of these

2:40:02levels until the sentence that we are

2:40:04speaking is very very long and complex

2:40:07and challenging so let's take a look at

2:40:10level two let's say it together slowly

2:40:13at first a man looks for his glasses in

2:40:18the living room room one more time

2:40:20medium speed a man looks for his glasses

2:40:24in the living room okay so now we know

2:40:28the

2:40:29location of his search we know where

2:40:32he's looking where he's searching he's

2:40:36looking around in his living room you

2:40:38guys know what a living room is right

2:40:40it's the room where you do most of the

2:40:43living there's your couch and your TV

2:40:46and your chairs in the living room it's

2:40:48the space in your house where the family

2:40:51can get together and get comfortable

2:40:54maybe watch a movie together let's say

2:40:56this again quickly and then level up

2:40:58once again ready a man looks for his

2:41:01glasses in the living room again a man

2:41:04looks for his glasses in the living room

2:41:06once more a man looks for his glasses in

2:41:09the living room level three we're moving

2:41:12right along let's jump right into it

2:41:14with a slow read a man looks for his

2:41:18glasses in the living room but can't

2:41:21seem to find them anywhere once more

2:41:25medium speed a man looks for his glasses

2:41:28in the living room but can't seem to

2:41:30find them anywhere okay this guy is not

2:41:34having a lot of luck finding his glasses

2:41:38he's looking looking looking but he

2:41:40can't seem he can't seem to find them

2:41:44anywhere yeah he can't seem to find them

2:41:47that's a very spoken English expression

2:41:51just meaning that you know he's trying

2:41:53he's making an attempt he's making an

2:41:56effort but it's not working he can't

2:41:59seem to do it he can't seem to find them

2:42:03we can use this expression when you are

2:42:05struggling to do something maybe I buy a

2:42:09new cabinet at Ikea right some new

2:42:12furniture and I bring it home and I take

2:42:14out the instructions and I get to work

2:42:17building the cabinet putting together

2:42:19the cabinet but it's not going well my

2:42:22wife comes home she sees that I'm making

2:42:25a big mess that I'm not making a lot of

2:42:27progress she says what's going on here I

2:42:30say I can't seem to figure this out I

2:42:34can't seem to get this right I can't

2:42:37seem to do it once more quick speed and

2:42:40remember you can say with me or pause

2:42:43and repeat after me ready a man looks

2:42:46for his glasses in the living room but

2:42:48can't see to find them anywhere if you

2:42:51guys are still with me you are killing

2:42:53it you are killing it what does that

2:42:55mean you are crushing it you are slaying

2:42:58it just means you're doing an awesome

2:43:01awesome job keep going okay here's a

2:43:04slow read of level four a man looks for

2:43:08his glasses in the living room but can't

2:43:11seem to find them anywhere so he checks

2:43:15the kitchen just in case one more time

2:43:18medium speak feed a man looks for his

2:43:21glasses in the living room but can't

2:43:23seem to find them anywhere so he checks

2:43:26the kitchen just in case so the main

2:43:29character of our story today he's moving

2:43:31on from the living room he has searched

2:43:34the living room from top to bottom from

2:43:39top to bottom he's turned the place

2:43:42inside out he's turned it inside out

2:43:46he's looked he has searched he has gone

2:43:50through the living room from top to

2:43:53bottom and he can't find those darn

2:43:56glasses anywhere so he's going to carry

2:43:59on his search somewhere else he's going

2:44:02to take his search to a different room

2:44:05of the house he's headed to the kitchen

2:44:08so he's checking the kitchen just in

2:44:11case just in case that means he's being

2:44:15safe yeah just to be safe he's going to

2:44:17check in some place

2:44:19where he doesn't think he will find the

2:44:22glasses but who knows maybe there's a

2:44:25small chance that the glasses are in the

2:44:27kitchen so he's going to take a look

2:44:30just in case all right let's say this

2:44:33again quick speed here we go a man looks

2:44:36for his glasses in the living room but

2:44:39can't seem to find them anywhere so he

2:44:41checks the kitchen just in case level

2:44:44five we're halfway there guys don't give

2:44:47up we are halfway through through this

2:44:49workout keep pushing let's do a slow

2:44:52read a man looks for his glasses in the

2:44:55living room but can't seem to find them

2:44:59anywhere so he checks the kitchen just

2:45:02in case opening every drawer even though

2:45:05he knows they wouldn't be there okay one

2:45:10more time medium speed let's go a man

2:45:13looks for his glasses in the living room

2:45:16but can't seem to find them anywhere so

2:45:19so he checks the kitchen just in case

2:45:21opening every drawer even though he

2:45:23knows they wouldn't be there so this guy

2:45:26is leaving no stone

2:45:30unturned no stone will be left unturned

2:45:34this is a really

2:45:36colloquial a really spoken English

2:45:39expression that means he is looking

2:45:42everywhere imagine that there are lots

2:45:44of rocks lots of stones and you're

2:45:47looking for something right so you're

2:45:49going to turn over each one of these

2:45:52rocks in your search while you go about

2:45:56your search you are going to overturn

2:45:59each of these Stones so that's where the

2:46:01expression comes from it just means that

2:46:04you are looking everywhere you can

2:46:06possibly look and that's what he's doing

2:46:08here he's opening every drawer in the

2:46:12kitchen even though he knows they

2:46:14wouldn't be there yeah there's really

2:46:17not a chance of finding them there but

2:46:20he's so desperate to find his glasses

2:46:22but he's so desperate to find his

2:46:24glasses that he will leave no stone

2:46:27unturned one more time quickly now ready

2:46:31a man looks for his glasses in the

2:46:33living room but can't seem to find them

2:46:35anywhere so he checks the kitchen just

2:46:37in case opening every drawer even though

2:46:40he knows they wouldn't be there level

2:46:42six things are getting messy things are

2:46:45getting hairy things are getting tricky

2:46:49challenging difficult all of these mean

2:46:52the same thing they all mean that this

2:46:54is starting to get hard even for me okay

2:46:58but no worries let's take a slow read of

2:47:01level six together a man looks for his

2:47:04glasses in the living room but can't

2:47:07seem to find them anywhere so he checks

2:47:10the kitchen just in case opening every

2:47:13drawer even though he knows they

2:47:16wouldn't be there and then decides to

2:47:19retrace his steps ooh love this

2:47:22expression retrace your steps what does

2:47:26that mean another way of thinking about

2:47:29this expression retrace your steps is to

2:47:33work backwards right you're trying to

2:47:36find something yeah we use this saying

2:47:40this expression when something is lost

2:47:43and we're trying to find it you're

2:47:45looking looking looking can't find it

2:47:47anywhere so what do you you do work

2:47:50backwards think retrace your steps where

2:47:54were you last when you used it last or

2:47:58when you last saw it right really great

2:48:01expression let's skip the medium read

2:48:03and go straight to the fast read because

2:48:06I know you guys can do it let's go ready

2:48:09a man looks for his glasses in the

2:48:11living room but can't seem to find them

2:48:14anywhere so he checks the kitchen just

2:48:16in case opening every drawer even though

2:48:19he knows they wouldn't be there and then

2:48:21decides to retrace his steps level seven

2:48:24baby this is no joke this is some

2:48:27serious stuff all right but I know you

2:48:30guys can do it slow read let's go a man

2:48:33looks for his glasses in the living room

2:48:36but can't seem to find them anywhere so

2:48:39he checks the kitchen just in case

2:48:41opening every drawer even though he

2:48:44knows they wouldn't be there and then

2:48:47decides to retrace his steps back to the

2:48:50bedroom to see if he left them by the

2:48:53bed love this right so where is he

2:48:56retracing his steps he's retracing his

2:48:59steps back to the bedroom okay maybe

2:49:03that's where he got dressed today maybe

2:49:06that's where he started his day you know

2:49:09maybe he's getting ready to go out

2:49:12getting ready to go to work getting

2:49:14ready to go do this or go do that and so

2:49:18he he thinks back to okay where was I

2:49:22when I first started getting ready I was

2:49:25in the bedroom so why don't I retrace my

2:49:28steps work backwards all the way to the

2:49:32bedroom he's going to check and see if

2:49:34he left them by the bed by the side of

2:49:37the bed maybe on a nightstand a

2:49:41nightstand right which is where you put

2:49:43a glass of water where you put a book

2:49:46where you put your phone next to your

2:49:48bed

2:49:49once more quickly now let's do it a man

2:49:52looks for his glasses in the living room

2:49:54but can't seem to find them anywhere so

2:49:57he checks the kitchen just in case

2:49:59opening every drawer even though he

2:50:01knows they wouldn't be there and then

2:50:04decides to retrace his steps back to the

2:50:06bedroom to see if he left them by the

2:50:09bed here we are at level eight and if

2:50:12you haven't done so yet if you haven't

2:50:31into level eight with a slow read here

2:50:33we go a man looks for his glasses in the

2:50:37living room but can't seem to find them

2:50:40anywhere so he checks the kitchen just

2:50:43in case opening every drawer even though

2:50:46he knows they wouldn't be there and and

2:50:48then decides to retrace his steps back

2:50:51to the bedroom to see if he left them by

2:50:54the bed growing more frustrated as he

2:50:58searches this guy is not doing great he

2:51:01is really frustrated meaning that there

2:51:05is something that is bothering him he

2:51:07wants to do something he wants to get

2:51:10something done but he can't do it if

2:51:13there's something you want to do and you

2:51:15can't quite do it and that's making you

2:51:18upset

2:51:19we can say that you are frustrated but

2:51:21yeah we could also say that he's feeling

2:51:23upset he's feeling

2:51:26irritated irritated just meaning a

2:51:28little bit annoyed would be another word

2:51:31we could use here annoyed irritated

2:51:35upset frustrated we could also say

2:51:38here's a really spoken expression that

2:51:40he's in a funk he's in a funk just means

2:51:44you're in a bad mood somebody might ask

2:51:47him later to day hey what's wrong are

2:51:50you okay maybe he says yeah you know I'm

2:51:54just kind of in a funk I'm kind of in a

2:51:57funk because I couldn't find my stupid

2:51:59glasses this morning one more time quick

2:52:04keep pushing ready a man looks for his

2:52:07glasses in the living room but can't

2:52:10seem to find them anywhere so he checks

2:52:12the kitchen just in case opening every

2:52:15drawer even though he knows they

2:52:17wouldn't be there there and then decides

2:52:20to retrace his steps back to the bedroom

2:52:23to see if he left them by the bed

2:52:25growing more frustrated as he searches

2:52:28level 9 slow read you know what to do

2:52:32let's dive right into it a man looks for

2:52:35his glasses in the living room but can't

2:52:38seem to find them anywhere so he checks

2:52:41the kitchen just in case opening every

2:52:44drawer even though he knows they

2:52:46wouldn't be there and then decides to

2:52:49retrace his steps back to the bedroom to

2:52:52see if he left them by the bed growing

2:52:55more frustrated as he searches only to

2:52:59suddenly realize he's been wearing them

2:53:02the whole

2:53:03time come on bro are you serious are you

2:53:08joking they've been on your face this

2:53:10whole time I really love today's episode

2:53:13you guys know that I love a Twist I love

2:53:16an unexpected twist in a story story and

2:53:19that's what we've got here our main

2:53:21character he's been wearing the glasses

2:53:24the whole time no wonder he's been able

2:53:27to see so clearly as he searches right

2:53:31let's fly through the quick read of

2:53:33level 9 and move on to level 10 because

2:53:35I'll be honest I want to know what

2:53:37happens next let's go a man looks for

2:53:40his glasses in the living room but can't

2:53:43seem to find them anywhere so he checks

2:53:45the kitchen just in case opening every

2:53:48drawer even though he knows they

2:53:50wouldn't be there and then decides to

2:53:52retrace his steps back to the bedroom to

2:53:55see if he left them by the bed growing

2:53:57more frustrated as he searches only to

2:54:00suddenly realize he's been wearing them

2:54:02the whole time I love it all right let's

2:54:05keep going guys we've made it to level

2:54:0810 the final boss of this video Let's

2:54:11tackle level 10 starting with a slow

2:54:14read the last one come on guys push a

2:54:18man looks for his glasses in the living

2:54:21room but can't seem to find them

2:54:24anywhere so he checks the kitchen just

2:54:26in case opening every drawer even though

2:54:30he knows they wouldn't be there and then

2:54:32decides to retrace his steps back to the

2:54:35bedroom to see if he left them by the

2:54:38bed growing more frustrated as he

2:54:41searches only to suddenly realize he's

2:54:44been wearing them the whole time and

2:54:47lets out an ex exasperated sigh what a

2:54:51scatterbrain this poor guy he's so

2:54:54irritated annoyed upset unhappy he's in

2:54:59such a funk right now he lets out an

2:55:02exasperated sigh you guys probably know

2:55:05what a sigh is right like

2:55:08this that's a sigh but what's an

2:55:11exasperated sigh this is a really

2:55:14terrific word to know you guys can

2:55:17impress your friends with this one right

2:55:19an exasperated sigh means you are so

2:55:24exhausted you just can't take it anymore

2:55:27you're so tired so you sigh like

2:55:33this you are dead tired you are beat you

2:55:37are done you are wiped out he thinks to

2:55:40himself ah I'm such a scatter brain

2:55:44what's a scatter brain if you are a

2:55:46scatter brain then that means means

2:55:48you're kind of an unorganized person

2:55:51right maybe you are forgetful you leave

2:55:54things places you forget to do things

2:55:58you get names and dates mixed up or

2:56:01switched around if you have some of

2:56:03these habits then you might be a

2:56:05scatterbrain what's the opposite of a

2:56:07scatterbrain uh I would say the opposite

2:56:10of being a scatterbrain is being really

2:56:13on top of things on top of things if you

2:56:18are on top of things or we can also say

2:56:21on the ball if you are on the ball on

2:56:24top of things that means that everything

2:56:27is organized everything is under control

2:56:30um everything is sorted and dealt with

2:56:34you're very

2:56:35meticulous you're very detail oriented

2:56:38and you don't make many mistakes you're

2:56:41very careful right all right guys this

2:56:43is it your last chance to speak let's

2:56:46read level 10 at a quick speed and then

2:56:49we will do a speak aloud cool down to

2:56:52end today's video ready a man looks for

2:56:55his glasses in the living room but can't

2:56:57seem to find them anywhere so he checks

2:56:59the kitchen just in case opening every

2:57:02drawer even though he knows they

2:57:04wouldn't be there and then decides to

2:57:06retrace his steps back to the bedroom to

2:57:09see if he left them by the bed growing

2:57:12more frustrated as he searches only to

2:57:15suddenly realize he's been wearing them

2:57:18the the whole time and lets out an

2:57:20exasperated sigh what a scatterbrain if

2:57:24you are still watching take your hand

2:57:28give yourself a pat on the back to

2:57:30congratulate yourself because you

2:57:32deserve it my friend as a teacher I am

2:57:35super proud of all my students who make

2:57:37it to level 10 in these videos because I

2:57:40know it's not easy terrific so now let's

2:57:44move along to the speak aloud cool down

2:57:48yeah with every workout it's important

2:57:50to end things with sort of a downtempo

2:57:54cool down exercise and that's what we're

2:57:57going to do here here's a question for

2:57:59us to respond to would you describe

2:58:03yourself as a scatter brain meaning you

2:58:06are usually pretty disorganized and tend

2:58:09to lose or forget things or are you on

2:58:13top of things are you on the ball what

2:58:17we're going to do guys is take 30

2:58:20seconds and push ourselves to fill up

2:58:24the full 30 seconds with a response to

2:58:27this question I will go first to give

2:58:29you a demonstration here I go oh my gosh

2:58:33I find this story today's story to be

2:58:37unfortunately really relatable because

2:58:40I'm definitely a scatter brain I'm

2:58:43constantly misplacing things around the

2:58:46house losing things mixing things up and

2:58:50fortunately for me my wife is the exact

2:58:54opposite and she really balances me out

2:58:57without her I think the house and my

2:58:59life would be in disarray that was my

2:59:03response now it's your turn take the

2:59:05full 30 seconds really push yourself go

2:59:08for it

Episode 10 ✅

2:59:39here we are at level one okay we've got

2:59:42a short basic sentence let's do a slow

2:59:45read of this sentence and remember you

2:59:48can Shadow me or pause and repeat all

2:59:51right let's go Anna gives up social

2:59:56media for a month One More Time medium

2:59:59speed a little bit faster Anna gives up

3:00:03social media for a month okay great so

3:00:07we have our main character for today's

3:00:10lesson her name is Anna she's a girl and

3:00:13what is she doing she's giving up social

3:00:17media media you guys know social media

3:00:20right could be a website like YouTube

3:00:24could be an app like Instagram it is a

3:00:27platform where people connect with each

3:00:30other and yeah engage or interact

3:00:35socially okay so Anna has made a

3:00:38decision to give up social media in

3:00:42other words she's going to quit social

3:00:44media right but she's not going to quit

3:00:48forever no she's only quitting for a

3:00:51month so we can also say that she's

3:00:54taking a

3:00:56break yeah she's just taking a break

3:00:59from social media just for a little

3:01:01while she'll be back later right but for

3:01:04right now she is

3:01:07stepping away she's stepping away we

3:01:12could also say taking a step back or

3:01:16taking a step away from social media

3:01:20right there's lots of ways to express

3:01:22this idea we could also say she's taking

3:01:26a breather here's a really spoken

3:01:29English expression for you guys yeah if

3:01:32you take a breather from something then

3:01:35that means you are giving yourself a

3:01:37rest you are taking a break from it

3:01:40right imagine that you go to the gym

3:01:44every day for a month yeah at the end of

3:01:47the month you are feeling exhausted and

3:01:50you tell your friend you know what I'm

3:01:53going to take a break from the gym I'm

3:01:55going to step away for a little while

3:01:59take a step back for a little while I'm

3:02:02going to take a breather just for a bit

3:02:05maybe it means that you won't go to the

3:02:08gym for one week or something like that

3:02:11right let's read it a couple more times

3:02:13at a quick speed and then we're going to

3:02:15level up ready and gives up social media

3:02:19for a month again Anna gives up social

3:02:23media for a month one more time Anna

3:02:26gives up social media for a month

3:02:29fantastic here we are at level two and

3:02:32as you can see some blue text has been

3:02:36added to our super sentence yeah we've

3:02:39stretched it even bigger we've made it

3:02:42longer and that's what's going to happen

3:02:45every time we level up that way we can

3:02:48push ourselves out of our comfort zones

3:02:51and stop speaking short little baby

3:02:54sentences all the time right okay let's

3:02:57begin with a slow read Anna gives up

3:03:01social media for a month which makes her

3:03:05realize how much time she used to spend

3:03:10scrolling One More Time medium speed

3:03:13Anna gives up social media for a month

3:03:17which Mak makes her realize how much

3:03:19time she used to spend scrolling okay so

3:03:24after after Anna makes this decision

3:03:28this choice to step away from social

3:03:31media for one month she realizes

3:03:35something she has a

3:03:38realization what does she realize she

3:03:41realizes that she used to spend a lot of

3:03:45time scrolling scrolling rrolling on her

3:03:48phone right if you are scrolling

3:03:51scrolling scrolling and you feel like

3:03:53you can't stop we can also call this

3:03:56Doom

3:03:58scrolling something that I've talked

3:04:01about several times here on my channel

3:04:04Doom scrolling is when you scroll scroll

3:04:07scroll for hours you feel like you can't

3:04:09stop right so anyway after Anna decides

3:04:14to quit social media for one month she's

3:04:17left with all of these gaps all of these

3:04:21empty spaces in her day right and she

3:04:26realizes in other words it Dawn on her

3:04:32she has this moment of

3:04:34realization where she realizes oh my God

3:04:38I used to spend so much time scrolling

3:04:41on my phone let's read it once more

3:04:44quick speed and then we'll level up Anna

3:04:47gives up social media for a month which

3:04:50makes her realize how much time she used

3:04:53to spend Doom scrolling here we are at

3:04:56level three and as you can see we have

3:04:59added even more blue text to our super

3:05:03sentence making it even more challenging

3:05:05let's start with a slow read Anna gives

3:05:09up social media for a month which makes

3:05:13her realize how much time she used to

3:05:16spend scrolling and suddenly she has

3:05:20more free time once more medium speed

3:05:24Anna gives up social media for a month

3:05:27which makes her realize how much time

3:05:30she used to spend scrolling and suddenly

3:05:34she has more free time okay wonderful so

3:05:39now that Anna has decided to take a

3:05:42break from social media she's got lots

3:05:45of free time what is free free time free

3:05:49time is a period of time where nothing

3:05:53is planned nothing is scheduled you

3:05:57don't have any

3:05:59obligations

3:06:01obligations for example I told my friend

3:06:05I would go shopping with her today I

3:06:07made a promise to her that would be an

3:06:10obligation something you made a promise

3:06:13to go and do right as an adult we have

3:06:16lots and lots lots of obligations lots

3:06:19of responsibilities it's kind of fun to

3:06:23think about what if you had an entire

3:06:26week of time without any

3:06:30obligations what would you do how would

3:06:33you spend that week would you travel

3:06:37would you just sit around and watch TV

3:06:41would you doom scroll on your phone how

3:06:44about you guys leave me a comment down

3:06:46in the comment section letting me know

3:06:49how you would spend a week without any

3:06:53obligations okay let's read this one

3:06:55more time then we're going to level up

3:06:58again at a quick speed now Anna gives up

3:07:02social media for a month which makes her

3:07:05realize how much time she used to spend

3:07:08scrolling and suddenly she has more free

3:07:11time here we are at level four let's

3:07:14just jump right in with a slow read

3:07:17ready

3:07:18Anna gives up social media for a month

3:07:22which makes her realize how much time

3:07:26she used to spend scrolling and suddenly

3:07:30she has more free time so she starts

3:07:34reading books she hasn't touched in

3:07:37years once more medium speed Anna gives

3:07:41up social media for a month which makes

3:07:45her realize how much time she used to

3:07:48spend scrolling and suddenly she has

3:07:51more free time so she starts reading

3:07:55books she hasn't touched in years now we

3:07:58are seeing how Anna is choosing to spend

3:08:02this free time what is she deciding to

3:08:07do with the free time she now has right

3:08:12what does she start to do she starts

3:08:14reading books what kind of books books

3:08:17that she hasn't touched in years yeah if

3:08:21you haven't touched something in years

3:08:24then it has been sitting idle it has

3:08:28been collecting dust I love this

3:08:32expression collecting dust for example

3:08:35imagine that you buy some weights online

3:08:38and you have this plan to use them to

3:08:41exercise right well maybe you use them

3:08:45once twice and then you set them down

3:08:47down in the corner of your house and you

3:08:50don't touch them for years well slowly

3:08:53they are going to collect dust right if

3:08:56you take your finger and you sort of

3:08:59trace the top of the weights you will

3:09:01find a layer of dust that has built up

3:09:05on top of them as a result of what as a

3:09:09result of having been left idle yeah you

3:09:13haven't touched them in a long time so

3:09:16they've just been sitting there right so

3:09:18in this situation Anna is returning to

3:09:22books that she hasn't touched in years

3:09:26maybe she's forgotten about some of

3:09:28these books maybe she's forgotten how

3:09:31much she used to enjoy them but now she

3:09:35has an opportunity now she has a chance

3:09:38to

3:09:40ReDiscover or discover again right

3:09:44ReDiscover her love her passion her

3:09:47interest in these books one more time

3:09:51quick speed then we'll level up Anna

3:09:54gives up social media for a month which

3:09:57makes her realize how much time she used

3:09:59to spend scrolling and suddenly she has

3:10:02more free time so she starts reading

3:10:05books she hasn't touched in years here

3:10:08we are at level five halfway through and

3:10:12if you've made it even this far as your

3:10:14YouTube English teacher I'm very proud

3:10:17of of you so take your hand give

3:10:20yourself a pat on the back you're doing

3:10:22great this is also a wonderful

3:10:25opportunity to quickly click that like

3:10:28button it really supports me so much if

3:10:31you guys could click the like button

3:10:33leave me a comment make sure you are

3:10:35subscribed these are your ways to

3:10:38support me as your YouTube English

3:10:40teacher now that we're halfway through I

3:10:43think we can get rid of the slow read

3:10:46let's Jump Right In to the medium read

3:10:48here we go Anna gives up social media

3:10:52for a month which makes her realize how

3:10:55much time she used to spend scrolling

3:10:59and suddenly she has more free time so

3:11:02she starts reading books she hasn't

3:11:04touched in years finding it surprisingly

3:11:09relaxing as we can see with the blue

3:11:12text we've added we learn about Anna's

3:11:15reaction to rediscovering reading right

3:11:19we know that she has started reading

3:11:22these old books that she hasn't touched

3:11:24in years they've been sitting around

3:11:27collecting dust sitting around idly not

3:11:31being used right but she goes back and

3:11:34she's reading them and she finds it to

3:11:38be surprisingly relaxing what is

3:11:41surprisingly relaxing it just means she

3:11:45hadn't expected

3:11:47she had not expected it to be this

3:11:52relaxing it's really nice it's nicer

3:11:56than she had thought right it's really

3:11:59relaxing so she is rekindling her love

3:12:03for reading what is Kindle if you Kindle

3:12:07a fire then you are tending to a fire

3:12:10making sure it does not burn out you are

3:12:14keeping it going so if you go back and

3:12:18you rekindle your love for reading then

3:12:21that just means you are making sure the

3:12:24fire that is your love for reading does

3:12:28not die does not burn out all right

3:12:31quick read here we go Anna gives up

3:12:35social media for a month which makes her

3:12:37realize how much time she used to spend

3:12:41scrolling and suddenly she has more free

3:12:44time so she starts reading books she

3:12:46hasn't touched in years finding it

3:12:49surprisingly relaxing Full Speed Ahead

3:12:52level six let's Jump Right In with a

3:12:55medium paced read here we go Anna gives

3:12:59up social media for a month which makes

3:13:03her realize how much time she used to

3:13:06spend scrolling and suddenly she has

3:13:09more free time so she starts reading

3:13:12books she hasn't touched in years

3:13:15finding it surprisingly relaxing and her

3:13:18stress levels start to drop okay so this

3:13:22is the next thing that happens after

3:13:25Anna makes the decision to quit social

3:13:27media right number one the first thing

3:13:30that happens is she starts reading books

3:13:33that she hasn't touched in years number

3:13:36two is she starts to get really relaxed

3:13:39she's finding all of this to be really

3:13:41relaxing number three the third thing

3:13:44that happens is her stress levels start

3:13:47to drop M her stress levels yeah the

3:13:52degree to which she feels stressed out

3:13:56maybe there's a lot going on in your

3:13:59life and you feel overwhelmed like

3:14:02everything is really difficult and your

3:14:05stress levels are high in other words

3:14:09you just feel stressed out all the time

3:14:13right maybe your stress levels are very

3:14:15low and you almost never feel stressed

3:14:18out well it sounds like Anna was pretty

3:14:22stressed out before she made the

3:14:24decision to take a break from social

3:14:27media and she didn't even realize it

3:14:31yeah sometimes that happens in life

3:14:33right we're really stressed out we're

3:14:36really overwhelmed and we don't even

3:14:38realize it so her stress levels they

3:14:42start to drop drop just means go down

3:14:47let's read it one more time quick speed

3:14:49don't give up now keep going here we go

3:14:53Anna gives up social media for a month

3:14:56which makes her realize how much time

3:14:59she used to spend scrolling and suddenly

3:15:02she has more free time so she starts

3:15:04reading books she hasn't touched in

3:15:07years finding it surprisingly relaxing

3:15:10and her stress levels start to drop

3:15:12level seven here we go medium speed Anna

3:15:16gives up social media for a month which

3:15:19makes her realize how much time she used

3:15:23to spend scrolling and suddenly she has

3:15:26more free time so she starts reading

3:15:29books she hasn't touched in years

3:15:32finding it surprisingly relaxing and her

3:15:35stress levels start to drop plus she

3:15:39notices she's sleeping better without

3:15:41the constant

3:15:43notifications as you can see we've added

3:15:46quite a lot not this level right this is

3:15:48a lot of blue text so let's dissect this

3:15:52let's analyze it let's take a close look

3:15:56at it okay plus so we're talking about

3:15:59an additional benefit in other words

3:16:03another good thing that happens after

3:16:06she makes the decision to quit social

3:16:09media or at least take a break away from

3:16:12social media right so plus she notices

3:16:15something what what does she notice she

3:16:18notices that she's sleeping better why

3:16:22is she sleeping better because she is

3:16:24now without the constant notifications H

3:16:29what is a

3:16:30notification we could also say a popup

3:16:34message a popup message on your

3:16:38phone

3:16:40pinging somebody's trying to contact you

3:16:43somebody liked your picture on Instagram

3:16:46somebody left a comment someone's giving

3:16:49you a phone call these are all

3:16:52notifications right and it sounds like

3:16:56in Anna's case her notifications were

3:16:59really

3:17:01constant constant in other words they

3:17:04were going on constantly they were

3:17:08happening all the time every minute she

3:17:11was getting a

3:17:13notification and she was constantly

3:17:16dealing with these

3:17:17notifications but maybe she never

3:17:20realized the extent to which she was

3:17:23dealing with them in other words maybe

3:17:26she never fully understood how bad the

3:17:30situation was that she was constantly

3:17:33doing this constantly distracted by

3:17:37these notifications right especially at

3:17:41nighttime and you know when you're

3:17:43trying to go to sleeping

3:17:46ding the constant notifications could be

3:17:50a really big

3:17:52deterrent deterrent to good sleep in

3:17:56other words the constant notifications

3:17:59could definitely stand in the way of

3:18:02good sleep or stop you from getting good

3:18:06sleep right so now that these

3:18:08notifications are gone of course she's

3:18:11sleeping better this is a terrific

3:18:14benefit to take a step away from your

3:18:18phone taking a break from social media

3:18:21again quick read here we go Anna gives

3:18:25up social media for a month which makes

3:18:28her realize how much time she used to

3:18:30spend scrolling and suddenly she has

3:18:33more free time so she starts reading

3:18:36books she hasn't touched in years

3:18:38finding it surprisingly relaxing and her

3:18:41stress levels start to drop plus she

3:18:44notices she's sleeping better with out

3:18:47the constant

3:18:49notifications this is starting to be a

3:18:52real mouthful this is starting to get

3:18:55really difficult even I'm getting a

3:18:57little tired but guys push don't give up

3:19:01you are going to be so glad that you did

3:19:04this down the road when your English

3:19:07speaking skills are way more developed

3:19:10level eight medium speed read here we go

3:19:14Anna gives up social media for a month

3:19:18which makes her realize how much time

3:19:21she used to spend scrolling and suddenly

3:19:24she has more free time so she starts

3:19:27reading books she hasn't touched in

3:19:29years finding it surprisingly relaxing

3:19:33and her stress levels start to drop plus

3:19:36she notices she's sleeping better

3:19:39without the constant

3:19:41notifications and she realizes she's

3:19:44turning over a new Leaf

3:19:47by focusing on real life

3:19:49interactions you guys know that I love

3:19:52idioms I love expressions and turning

3:19:56over a new Leaf is the idiom that I

3:19:59decided to include in today's video what

3:20:03does it mean to turn over a new Leaf it

3:20:06basically means that you are starting a

3:20:09new chapter in your life yeah you are

3:20:12moving on to a new and better way of

3:20:15living or lifestyle so yeah Anna

3:20:19realizes that hey she's really turned a

3:20:23page that's another way we could say

3:20:25this she's really turned a page in the

3:20:28book of her life right and she's feeling

3:20:31better about her lifestyle she's feeling

3:20:34healthier she's enjoying her life more

3:20:38now she realizes she's turning over a

3:20:40new Leaf by focusing on real life

3:20:44interactions so she's not focusing on or

3:20:48paying attention to social media so much

3:20:51anymore now she is paying attention to

3:20:55here's someone paying attention to

3:20:57something noticing something ooh

3:21:00noticing something she's focusing on

3:21:04real life

3:21:06interactions what is an

3:21:08interaction that is how you engage with

3:21:12someone or something for example I

3:21:15interact with you guys with my

3:21:18subscribers in the comment section you

3:21:21guys leave me comments giving me

3:21:23feedback on my videos and I respond to

3:21:26your comments as best I can that's my

3:21:30way of engaging with you of interacting

3:21:35with you one more time quick read here

3:21:37we go Anna gives up social media for a

3:21:41month which makes her realize how much

3:21:44time she used to spend scrolling and

3:21:47suddenly she has more free time so she

3:21:50starts reading books she hasn't touched

3:21:52in years finding it surprisingly

3:21:55relaxing and her stress levels start to

3:21:58drop plus she notices she's sleeping

3:22:01better without the constant

3:22:03notifications and she realizes she's

3:22:06turning over a new Leaf by focusing on

3:22:09real life

3:22:10interactions level 9 this is getting

3:22:14really serious really tough really

3:22:17tricky really hairy yeah this is getting

3:22:21really challenging but don't give up

3:22:23guys let's just do it let's bite the

3:22:26bullet and just do it with a medium

3:22:29speed read here we go Anna gives up

3:22:33social media for a month which makes her

3:22:36realize how much time she used to spend

3:22:40scrolling and suddenly she has more free

3:22:44time so she starts reading books she

3:22:47hasn't touched in years finding it

3:22:50surprisingly relaxing and her stress

3:22:53levels start to drop plus she notices

3:22:56she's sleeping better without the

3:22:59constant

3:23:00notifications and she realizes she's

3:23:03turning over a new Leaf by focusing on

3:23:06real life interactions so she starts

3:23:09spending more time with her friends

3:23:12taking a look at the blue text here we

3:23:14can see specifically

3:23:17how she is focusing on her real life

3:23:20interactions right how is she doing that

3:23:23she's spending more time with her

3:23:25friends now you know maybe she would

3:23:28contact her friends in the past when she

3:23:31was using social media more maybe they

3:23:34were connected maybe they were even

3:23:37talking every day but it felt a little

3:23:40bit Hollow it felt like it was lacking

3:23:45substance in other other words it didn't

3:23:47feel that

3:23:49meaningful right when you talk to

3:23:52someone online when you interact with

3:23:54one of your friends online it just

3:23:57doesn't feel as real as meaningful as

3:24:02when you do it in person right face to

3:24:06face person to person out in the real

3:24:09world okay so that's what she's doing

3:24:13now again quick read here we go

3:24:16Anna gives up social media for a month

3:24:20which makes her realize how much time

3:24:22she used to spend scrolling and suddenly

3:24:25she has more free time so she starts

3:24:28reading books she hasn't touched in

3:24:30years finding it surprisingly relaxing

3:24:34and her stress levels start to drop plus

3:24:37she notices she's sleeping better

3:24:39without the constant

3:24:41notifications and she realizes she's

3:24:43turning over a new Leaf by focusing on

3:24:47real life interactions so she starts

3:24:50spending more time with her

3:24:53friends okay guys level 10 we've made it

3:24:57to the final boss of this video yeah

3:25:03we've made it to the big bad guy right

3:25:07this is the toughest level of course and

3:25:11you know what I'd be willing to bet that

3:25:14for a lot of you this might be the

3:25:18longest sentence that you've ever spoken

3:25:21in your entire life right if I'm correct

3:25:26and this is the longest sentence you've

3:25:28ever spoken in your life leave me a

3:25:31comment down in the comment section

3:25:33saying new record new record and if

3:25:38that's the case if that's true then

3:25:41congratulations that is a huge

3:25:43accomplishment on your English speaking

3:25:46Journey okay let's do a slow read here

3:25:50we go don't give up now guys we're so

3:25:53close to

3:25:54Victory Anna gives up social media for a

3:25:58month which makes her realize how much

3:26:01time she used to spend scrolling and

3:26:05suddenly she has more free time so she

3:26:08starts reading books she hasn't touched

3:26:10in years finding it surprisingly

3:26:14relaxing and her stress levels start to

3:26:17drop plus she notices she's sleeping

3:26:20better without the constant

3:26:23notifications and she realizes she's

3:26:26turning over a new Leaf by focusing on

3:26:30real life interactions so she starts

3:26:33spending more time with her friends who

3:26:37comment on how much more present and

3:26:40engaged she seems what does it mean to

3:26:45be present

3:26:46if you are present then that basically

3:26:49means you are living in the present you

3:26:52are not distracted by remembering things

3:26:55that happened in the past or imagining

3:26:58things that could happen in the future

3:27:01right you're not thinking about the past

3:27:04you are not thinking about the future

3:27:06your brain and your attention is right

3:27:10here in the present moment so her

3:27:13friends are commenting on this and in

3:27:16other words they are mentioning it to

3:27:18her they are bringing it up yeah they

3:27:22are

3:27:23bringing it up they are making a point

3:27:27to talk about it with her right they're

3:27:30saying hey Anna I'm noticing something

3:27:33about you it seems like you've really

3:27:36changed you are so much more present now

3:27:39than you used to be you are so much more

3:27:42engaged in other words you are not dist

3:27:46distracted you are focused than you used

3:27:48to be right you're doing a really good

3:27:51job this seems like a healthy change for

3:27:54you all right guys if you are ready to

3:27:57defeat this final boss then let's say

3:28:01this super sentence one last time at a

3:28:05quick speed are you ready Anna gives up

3:28:08social media for a month which makes her

3:28:11realize how much time she used to spend

3:28:14scrolling and suddenly she has has more

3:28:16free time so she starts reading books

3:28:19she hasn't touched in years finding it

3:28:21surprisingly relaxing and her stress

3:28:24levels start to drop plus she notices

3:28:27she's sleeping better without the

3:28:29constant notifications and she realizes

3:28:32she's turning over a new Leaf by

3:28:35focusing on real life interactions so

3:28:38she starts spending more time with her

3:28:40friends who comment on how much more

3:28:43present and engaged she seems

3:28:46if you made it all the way through this

3:28:49video it's very important that you take

3:28:52a second to congratulate yourself as

3:28:55your YouTube English teacher I'm so

3:28:58proud of my students who take my videos

3:29:01seriously and really apply themselves

3:29:05really make an effort to go all the way

3:29:08through and finish the lesson so take

3:29:10your hand one more time give yourself a

3:29:14pat on the back because you deserve

3:29:16deserve it my friend but don't go

3:29:18anywhere yet because with any good

3:29:21workout a coold down is really important

3:29:24so that's what we're going to do now no

3:29:27more Super sentence but we are going to

3:29:30have a speaking cool down Okay so let's

3:29:34return to the idiom the saying the

3:29:37expression that we talked about today

3:29:40turn over a new Leaf what does it mean

3:29:43it means to make a fresh start or begin

3:29:47to behave in a better way yeah you are

3:29:51improving your life or your lifestyle

3:29:55right in the story today we saw that by

3:29:58giving up social media Anna feels like

3:30:01she's turning over a new leaf and

3:30:04focusing more on the present moment okay

3:30:07so here is a discussion question for us

3:30:11to respond to together as our cool down

3:30:16is there something in your life holding

3:30:19you back how could you turn over a new

3:30:22leaf and live a better life yeah what is

3:30:27something you could do to just like Anna

3:30:31turn over a new leaf and start to live a

3:30:34better life is there something holding

3:30:36you back a bad habit something negative

3:30:40in your life that you could let go of

3:30:42that you could get rid of and move on to

3:30:46a better lifestyle what I want you guys

3:30:49to do is push yourself to speak for the

3:30:51full 30 seconds I'm going to give you

3:30:54and just respond to this question it

3:30:57doesn't have to be perfect the point is

3:31:00to try and fill up that full 30 seconds

3:31:04I'm going to go first and give you a

3:31:06demonstration or an example of what I

3:31:09would like you to try and do when it's

3:31:12your turn here I go you know recently at

3:31:15as a matter of fact I actually do feel

3:31:19like I've turned over a new Leaf that's

3:31:22because I haven't had any coffee in the

3:31:26last two weeks now normally I'm someone

3:31:29who really really loves coffee really

3:31:32enjoys a morning cup of coffee sometimes

3:31:35an afternoon cup of coffee but it was

3:31:38interfering with my sleep and my mood so

3:31:40I gave it up and I really feel like I've

3:31:43turned over a new Leaf I feel much

3:31:45better now that was my response now it's

3:31:48your turn take that full 30 seconds push

3:31:52all the way through and respond to this

3:31:55question as our cool down go ahead

3:32:27okay guys here we are at level one we

3:33:21at a quick speed and then we will level

3:33:24up to level two and make things more

3:33:26challenging here we go a man watches a

3:33:30hilarious video again a man watches a

3:33:34hilarious video One More Time a man

3:34:15is is watching yeah we know specifically

3:34:19what he's looking at the video is of his

3:34:22boss yeah his boss from work dancing on

3:34:26Tik Tok so he's using Tik Tok on his

3:34:29phone maybe he was swiping videos when

3:34:33he came across something really funny a

3:34:36video of his boss who he knows

3:34:38personally doing a tick tock dance I

3:35:12man watches a hilarious video of his

3:35:16boss dancing on Tik Tok and tries to

3:35:19hold back his laughter okay one more

3:35:23time at a medium speed a man watches a

3:35:26hilarious video of his boss dancing on

3:35:29Tik Tok and tries to hold back his

3:35:32laughter what does it mean if you try to

3:35:35hold back your laughter it means you are

3:35:38trying to contain your laughter but it's

3:35:42pretty difficult you are really fighting

3:35:45the urge to laugh you are fighting the

3:35:48urge to laugh right it means you are

3:35:51trying really hard not to laugh and if

3:35:53you're not careful you might

3:35:55accidentally burst out

3:35:58laughing burst out laughing of course if

3:36:02you were in this guy's situation you

3:36:04would feel the same way just imagine if

3:36:07you were on Tik Tok and suddenly you

3:36:50hilarious video of his boss dancing on

3:36:53Tik Tok and tries to hold back his

3:36:56laughter but a loud chuckle escapes so

3:37:00he didn't exactly burst out laughing

3:37:04right he didn't laugh super loudly but

3:37:06he was also unable to contain his

3:37:10laughter and a chuckle escaped I love

3:37:13this word in this context text escaped

3:37:17yeah a chuckle got free a chuckle is

3:37:20like a small laugh kind of like that's

3:37:23kind of a chuckle right so this is a

3:37:26loud chuckle and hopefully he doesn't

3:39:38a loud chuckle escapes drawing the

3:39:41attention of his colleagues nearby who

3:40:17video of his boss dancing on Tik Tock

3:40:20and tries to hold back his laughter but

3:40:24a loud chuckle escapes drawing the

3:40:26attention of his colleagues nearby who

3:40:29crowd around to watch the video level

3:40:32seven slow read let's jump in a man

3:40:35watches a hilarious video of his boss

3:40:38dancing on Tik Tok and tries to hold

3:40:42back his laughter but a loud chuckle

3:40:45escapes drawing the attention of his

3:40:48colleagues nearby who crowd around to

3:40:51watch the video creating a bit of a

3:40:54commotion all right so sure enough

3:40:57tensions are escalating this situation

3:41:00is at risk of getting out of hand

3:41:04getting out of hand that means getting

3:41:07out of control or we could also say

3:41:10spiraling out of control so yeah they've

3:41:14created a bit of a commotion a bit of a

3:41:18scene we could also say they are making

3:41:21a scene basically they are attracting

3:41:25they are drawing in a lot of attention

3:41:28and I have a feeling this is not going

3:41:30to end well quick read and then we'll

3:41:32move on a man watches a hilarious video

3:41:36of his boss dancing on Tik Tok and tries

3:41:38to hold back his laughter but a loud

3:41:41chuckle escapes drawing the attention of

3:41:44his colleagues nearby who crowd around

3:41:47to watch the video creating a bit of a

3:41:50commotion level eight guys this is

3:41:53getting really challenging I know but

3:41:56remember no pain no gain if you are a

3:42:00fan of my videos then you know how much

3:42:02I love this expression we cannot make

3:42:05progress with our English unless we are

3:42:07willing to make ourselves uncomfortable

3:42:10because we can only grow when we step

3:42:13out of our comfort Z zone so I know that

3:42:16it's hard work but trust me it's going

3:42:19to pay off slow read level eight here we

3:42:22go a man watches a hilarious video of

3:42:26his boss dancing on Tik Tok and tries to

3:42:30hold back his laughter but a loud

3:42:33chuckle escapes drawing the attention of

3:42:37his colleagues nearby who crowd around

3:42:40to watch the video creating a bit of a

3:42:43commotion just as the boss walks by with

3:42:48a bemused expression I knew the

3:42:51situation was going to get out of hand

3:42:54was going to spiral out of control and

3:42:58sure enough sure enough the boss walks

3:43:02by the boss has noticed all the

3:43:06commotion he has noticed that the man is

3:43:09making a scene making a scene so he

3:43:12walks by with what kind of look on his

3:43:15his face what kind of expression a

3:43:18bemused expression what does that mean

3:43:20bemused means a little confused and a

3:43:24little amused you can think of it as a

3:43:27combination of befuddled which means

3:43:29confused and amused which means you are

3:43:33slightly entertained by something you

3:43:35think it's fun or funny so the boss is

3:43:38curious about what's going on and

3:43:41initially at first he has a pretty good

3:43:44attitude ude about the situation he

3:43:47doesn't storm in with a big scowl on his

3:43:50face with a nasty look on his face no

3:43:54he's bemused he's slightly confused

3:43:57slightly amused right quick read then

3:44:00we'll level up to level 9 we're getting

3:44:02close to the end guys here we go a man

3:44:06watches a hilarious video of his boss

3:44:09dancing on Tick Tock and tries to hold

3:44:12back his laughter but a loud chuckle is

3:44:15escapes drawing the attention of his

3:44:17colleagues nearby who crowd around to

3:44:20watch the video creating a bit of a

3:44:23commotion just as the boss walks by with

3:44:26a bemused expression level 9 slow read

3:44:31let's do it a man watches a hilarious

3:44:35video of his boss dancing on Tik Tok and

3:44:39tries to hold back his laughter but a

3:44:42loud chuckle escapes drawing the

3:44:46attention of his colleagues nearby who

3:44:49crowd around to watch the video and join

3:44:53in the laughter creating a bit of a

3:44:56commotion just as the boss walks by with

3:45:01a bemused expression and remarks glad

3:45:05everyone's so productive today so the

3:45:08boss he walks by with a bemused

3:45:11expression and he remarks or says to

3:45:14this group of people glad everyone's so

3:45:17productive today now do you guys see how

3:45:20this word productive is

3:45:23italicized

3:45:24italicized that means we need to

3:45:27emphasize the word or be a little bit

3:45:30louder when we say it so here's how I

3:45:32would read this glad everyone's so

3:45:35productive today the boss here is being

3:45:38a little bit

3:45:40sarcastic yeah he's using sarcasm in

3:45:44other words he means the opposite of

3:45:47what he says are they really being

3:45:50productive are they really working hard

3:45:53and getting lots of stuff done lots of

3:45:56stuff accomplished no they're slacking

3:45:59off crowding around this man watching

3:46:03videos on Tik Tok so from the boss's

3:46:06perspective this is kind of a friendly

3:46:09is way of saying hey guys I know you're

3:46:12having fun but maybe it's time to get

3:46:14back to work let's read it one more time

3:46:17at a quick speed and then level up to

3:46:19level 10 our final level for today's

3:46:22super sentence here we go a man watches

3:46:25a hilarious video of his boss dancing on

3:46:28Tik Tok and tries to hold back his

3:46:31laughter but a loud chuckle escapes

3:46:34drawing the attention of his colleagues

3:46:36nearby who crowd around to watch the

3:46:39video and join in the laughter creating

3:46:42a bit of a commotion just as the the

3:46:45boss walks by with a bemused expression

3:46:47and remarks glad everyone's so

3:46:50productive today I want you guys to pay

3:46:53attention to how quickly I say this

3:46:55portion of the sentence creating a bit

3:46:58of a a bit of a a bit of a this is one

3:47:02of the reasons why spoken English is so

3:47:05tough because if you try to say each one

3:47:08of these words

3:47:09individually you might stumble over

3:47:12yourself or say it incorrect

3:47:15sometimes native speakers are lazy when

3:47:18we speak and words tend to run together

3:47:22blur together so we wouldn't say

3:47:25creating a bit of a commotion that would

3:47:28sound too robotic we would say creating

3:47:31a bit of a commotion a bit of a

3:47:34commotion I wouldn't say with a bemused

3:47:38expression I would say with a bemused

3:47:42expression with a with a with a you can

3:47:45combine these two words with a bemused

3:47:49expression level 10 baby we made it now

3:47:52guys I know this is going to be tough

3:47:55it's going to be challenging but come on

3:47:58push we are so close to finishing this

3:48:01lesson slow read here we go a man

3:48:05watches a hilarious video of his boss

3:48:09dancing on Tik Tock and tries to hold

3:48:12back his laughter but a loud chuckle

3:48:16escapes drawing the attention of his

3:48:19colleagues nearby who crowd around to

3:48:22watch the video and join in the laughter

3:48:26creating a bit of a commotion just as

3:48:29the boss walks by with a bemused

3:48:32expression and remarks glad everyone's

3:48:35so productive today before catching a

3:48:39glimpse of the phone and going white as

3:48:43a ghost oh no guys I told you I had a

3:48:47bad feeling about the ending of today's

3:48:50story and sure enough the boss catches a

3:48:53glimpse of the phone that everyone is

3:48:56looking at that everyone has crowded

3:48:59around and unfortunately it seems like

3:49:02he gets a clear view of the phone he

3:49:06takes a direct look at the phone because

3:49:09shortly after he goes white as a ghost

3:49:13his face Lo loses all of its color he

3:49:17looks horrified obviously he has

3:49:20realized that everyone unfortunately has

3:49:24discovered his Tick Tock dancing video

3:49:27that would be pretty embarrassing I got

3:49:29to say in fact I might even use a word

3:49:33stronger than embarrassing if this was

3:49:35me in the boss's place in the boss's

3:49:39position in the boss's shoes I would be

3:49:43mortified that's a great word to know

3:49:47mortified mortified it means so

3:49:50embarrassed that you want to die okay

3:49:53guys one more quick read of today's

3:49:55super sentence and then we will have a

3:49:58cool down exercise are you

3:50:01ready a man watches a hilarious video of

3:50:04his boss dancing on Tik Tok and tries to

3:50:07hold back his laughter but a loud

3:50:10chuckle escapes drawing the attention of

3:50:13his colleagues nearby

3:50:15who crowd around to watch the video and

3:50:17join in the laughter creating a bit of a

3:50:21commotion just as the boss walks by with

3:50:24a bemused expression and remarks glad

3:50:27everyone's so productive today before

3:50:31catching a glimpse of the phone and

3:50:33going white as a

3:50:35ghost if you made it all the way through

3:50:39this super sentence take your hand and

3:50:42give yourself a pat on the back to

3:50:44congrat congratulate yourself and as

3:50:46your YouTube English teacher I'm very

3:50:48very proud of you great job everybody in

3:50:51the super sentence we saw this

3:50:53expression white as a ghost this

3:50:56describes someone who looks extremely

3:50:59pale yeah the color of their skin you

3:51:02know is drained of blood it's totally

3:51:05empty of blood often due to fear or

3:51:09shock or illness so basically they look

3:51:12really unhealthy and why they look

3:51:15unhealthy depends on the context you

3:51:17could look white as a ghost because you

3:51:19are shocked or really surprised or

3:51:22because you're scared or even because

3:51:24you're very sick when she saw the car

3:51:27speeding toward her she turned white as

3:51:29a ghost and froze in place after hearing

3:51:34the news about the surprise test he

3:51:36looked white as a ghost and started

3:51:38frantically checking his notes so in

3:51:41both of these examples the person is a

3:51:44afraid right and so they look white as a

3:51:47ghost due to fear or we could also say

3:51:51they look white as a ghost out of fear

3:51:54every good workout needs a cool down

3:51:57exercise and speaking English is the

3:51:59same way so I have a question I would

3:52:02like you guys to try and respond to try

3:52:06and talk out loud and discuss with me

3:52:09should employees be allowed to use their

3:52:12phones at work okay so I'm going to take

3:52:1630 seconds and give you guys a

3:52:19demonstration of how I would respond to

3:52:21this question then it will be your turn

3:52:25really try to speak for the full time

3:52:28given okay keep pushing through that 30

3:52:30seconds don't stop talking in my opinion

3:52:34yes employees should be allowed to use

3:52:37their phones at work you know even

3:52:40though they might occasionally get

3:52:42distracted and wait a little time or

3:52:46Doom scroll on their phone for a bit I

3:52:49still think this beats the alternative

3:52:51or the other option what's the other

3:52:54option you forbid people from using

3:52:57their phones and they get resentful they

3:53:00get angry at the boss I don't think

3:53:02that's good for anybody certainly not

3:53:05workplace morale okay that was my

3:53:08response now it's your turn take that 30

3:53:10seconds go for it

3:53:43as your YouTube English teacher leave me

3:53:46a comment letting me know how difficult

3:53:49you thought this video was from 1 to 10

3:53:52and let's jump right into level one with

3:53:55a slow read here we go Tom forgets

3:53:59someone's name now what I want you guys

3:54:02to pay attention to throughout today's

3:54:04lesson is the way these two words blend

3:54:08together listen to this Tom forgets

3:54:11someone's name do you see how forgets

3:54:15ends in an S and someone's begins with

3:54:18an S the result of this is that the two

3:54:21words Blend or mix together Tom forgets

3:54:26someone's name Tom forgets someone's

3:54:29name something else I'd like to point

3:54:31out is the pronunciation of this word

3:54:34here in American English we often say

3:54:36forget forget forget and it sounds like

3:54:41f r not f o r let's say this basic level

3:54:45one sentence a few more times to get

3:54:48comfortable and then we will level up to

3:54:50level two and make things more

3:54:52challenging ready Tom forgets someone's

3:54:56name again Tom forgets someone's name

3:55:00again Tom forgets someone's name awesome

3:55:04we've leveled up and as you can see a

3:55:06few blue words have been added to our

3:55:09super sentence yeah throughout this

3:55:12video we are going to stretch this this

3:55:14sentence longer and longer let's begin

3:55:17level two with a slow read here we go

3:55:21Tom forgets someone's name at a party

3:55:25again a little faster Tom forgets

3:55:28someone's name at a party Okay so we've

3:55:31got this guy Tom he's going to be the MC

3:55:34the main character of today's story and

3:55:38it looks like Tom is at a party okay and

3:55:42something bad has happened he has

3:55:44forgotten someone's name ooh maybe we

3:55:48can say that Tom is not good with names

3:55:52not good with names yeah I know that

3:55:55personally I can relate to this I can

3:55:59relate to this in other words I

3:56:03sympathize with Tom because you know

3:56:06I've also been in this situation like

3:56:09Tom I also am not very good with names

3:56:14it's tough for me to remember people's

3:56:16names are you guys good at remembering

3:56:19names you can let me know in the

3:56:21comments section I have a feeling

3:56:22today's super sentence is going to be an

3:56:25awkward one let's say this again at a

3:56:28quick speed and then we will level up

3:56:31Tom forgets someone's name at a party

3:56:33again Tom forgets someone's name at a

3:56:36party again Tom forgets someone's name

3:56:39at a party look how these two words go

3:56:42together so quickly at at a at a ATA Tom

3:56:46forgets someone's name at a party at a

3:56:49party at a party yeah you know in

3:56:52English sometimes we're a little bit

3:56:54lazy when we speak we don't like to

3:56:56speak like a robot Tom forgets someone's

3:56:59name at a party we don't really talk

3:57:02like that our words blur they mix they

3:57:06blend together at a party at a party at

3:57:10a party level three now it's getting a

3:57:12little bit more difficult let's Jump

3:57:15Right In with a slow read ready Tom

3:57:18forgets someone's name at a party and

3:57:21tries to avoid saying it okay medium

3:57:26speed Tom forgets someone's name at a

3:57:29party and tries to avoid saying it so

3:57:33obviously this guy Tom is feeling a

3:57:36little bit embarrassed about forgetting

3:57:39this person's name right so what is he

3:57:42doing is he going out of his way to try

3:57:45and figure out what this name is no he's

3:57:48just avoiding saying the name yeah if

3:57:51you avoid doing something then you try

3:57:54not to do it yeah you steer clear of it

3:57:58you steer clear of it maybe I'm trying

3:58:01to drink less alcohol for example so I

3:58:05avoid bars I avoid clubs I can also say

3:58:09I steer clear of bars I steer clear of

3:58:13clubs that means I try not to go

3:58:15anywhere near them quick speed and then

3:58:18we will level up again ready Tom forgets

3:58:21someone's name at a party and tries to

3:58:23avoid saying it again Tom forgets

3:58:26someone's name at a party and tries to

3:58:29avoid saying it listen to how I

3:58:31pronounce this word here I don't really

3:58:33pronounce the d do I it sounds a little

3:58:36bit more like an I'll say this one more

3:58:39time Tom forgets someone's name at a

3:58:41party and tries to avoid saying it and

3:58:44tries to avoid saying it and tries to

3:58:47avoid saying it it sounds more like an

3:58:50just another example of how sometimes

3:58:53native speakers pronounce words a little

3:58:55bit lazily level four slow read let's

3:58:59jump in Tom forgets someone's name at a

3:59:02party and tries to avoid saying it so he

3:59:07keeps calling them

3:59:09buddy this is so funny because I've

3:59:12personally been in this situation before

3:59:15you don't know someone's name so you

3:59:17call them pal or buddy or dude right

3:59:22basically avoiding saying their name

3:59:25calling them anything else he can think

3:59:28of medium speed ready Tom forgets

3:59:31someone's name at a party and tries to

3:59:34avoid saying it so he keeps calling them

3:59:37buddy and one more time quick speed Tom

3:59:41forgets someone's name at a party and

3:59:43tries to a avoids saying it so he keeps

3:59:45calling them buddy now one thing I will

3:59:48say is that if this was a native speaker

3:59:50saying the sentence at least in American

3:59:53English they probably would pronounce

3:59:55them like um um so he keeps calling them

3:59:59buddy so he keeps calling him buddy and

4:00:02this word we would really pronounce like

4:00:05e listen to this so he keeps calling him

4:00:08buddy so we keeps calling him buddy yeah

4:00:13he we would ounc like e and we would

4:00:15blend it with this word here soe soe soe

4:00:20keeps calling them buddy pause the video

4:00:22and try that a couple of times out loud

4:00:25so we keeps calling him buddy level five

4:00:29slow read let's go Tom forgets someone's

4:00:32name at a party and tries to avoid

4:00:35saying it so he keeps calling him buddy

4:00:39even as the conversation gets more

4:00:42Awkward yeah things are getting awkward

4:00:45the problem is becoming obvious maybe

4:00:49Tom you know he says buddy pal friend

4:00:53he's really avoiding saying this

4:00:56person's name and it's becoming very

4:00:59clear that he doesn't remember and the

4:01:02fact that he doesn't remember is awkward

4:01:05awkward great word awkward is a feeling

4:01:09right you feel like this it kind of

4:01:11makes you cringe if you cringe then you

4:01:15recoil at something embarrassing or

4:01:18awkward maybe you think about something

4:01:21stupid you did when you were 12 or 13

4:01:24and you cringe you go oh why did I say

4:01:28that why did I do that what was I

4:01:30thinking by the way what's the most

4:01:33cringe thing you guys have ever done

4:01:36maybe we can share some cringe stories

4:01:38down in the comment section one more

4:01:40time quick speed let's go Tom for gets

4:01:44someone's name at a party and tries to

4:01:46avoid saying it so he keeps calling him

4:01:49buddy even as the conversation gets more

4:01:52Awkward level six we are flying along

4:01:55slow read here we go Tom forgets

4:01:58someone's name at a party and tries to

4:02:01avoid saying it so he keeps calling him

4:02:05buddy even as the conversation gets more

4:02:08Awkward until the other person asks do

4:02:12you even remember my name name O cringe

4:02:15cringe cringe Tom you've been found out

4:02:19you've been discovered the cats out of

4:02:22the bag the cats out of the bag Tom that

4:02:25means your secret has been revealed I

4:02:29really wonder how Tom is going to

4:02:31respond to this cringy awkward encounter

4:02:35or social interaction we could also say

4:02:39yeah uh an interaction between two

4:02:42people socially right so let's say this

4:02:45quickly one more time and then level up

4:02:47so we can see what happens next Tom

4:02:50forgets someone's name at a party and

4:02:53tries to avoid saying it so he keeps

4:02:55calling him buddy even as the

4:02:57conversation gets more Awkward until the

4:03:00other person asks do you even remember

4:03:02my name level seven slow read Tom

4:03:06forgets someone's name at a party and

4:03:09tries to avoid saying it so he keeps

4:03:12calling him buddy even as the

4:03:14conversation gets more Awkward until the

4:03:18other person asks do you even remember

4:03:21my name to which Tom stammers blurting

4:03:24out Chris oh this is not looking good

4:03:28for Tom is it he's stammering that means

4:03:32he's tripping over his words and he

4:03:35blurts

4:03:36out Chris M what does it mean if you

4:03:39blurt something out that means you say

4:03:42it without really thinking much about it

4:03:46yeah you don't put a lot of thought into

4:03:48what you're going to say

4:03:50beforehand beforehand before you open

4:03:54your mouth to speak you just open your

4:03:57mouth and blurt something out just say

4:04:00something thoughtlessly one more time

4:04:03quick speed and then let's see what

4:04:04happens next Tom forgets someone's name

4:04:07at a party and tries to avoid saying it

4:04:10so he keeps calling him buddy even as

4:04:13the conversation gets more Awkward until

4:04:16the other person asks do you even

4:04:18remember my name to which Tom stammers

4:04:21blurting out Chris now that we're here

4:04:25at level eight let's change our slow

4:04:27read to a medium read yeah let's turn up

4:04:31the heat just a little bit let's dial up

4:04:35the intensity just a little bit let's

4:04:38crank up the difficulty Just a Touch

4:04:41just a tad just a hair all of these mean

4:04:44the same thing they all mean let's make

4:04:47it a little bit harder ready Tom forgets

4:04:50someone's name at a party and tries to

4:04:53avoid saying it so he keeps calling him

4:04:55buddy even as the conversation gets more

4:04:58Awkward until the other person asks do

4:05:01you even remember my name to which Tom

4:05:04stammers blurting out Chris and the

4:05:07other person laughs and says close but

4:05:10no cigar It's Pat once again guys pay

4:05:14attention to how I'm pronouncing these

4:05:16two ANS I'm not putting that much effort

4:05:20or energy into these words I'm just

4:05:22saying n n taking off the D right just

4:05:27saying n and the other person laughs and

4:05:30says and the other person laughs and

4:05:33says we've got a great expression here

4:05:35close but no cigar if you guys could use

4:05:38this correctly it would be very

4:05:41impressive what does it mean it means

4:05:43you were close but um no that's

4:05:46incorrect you almost had it but no and

4:05:50to be honest with you in this case I

4:05:52think Pat is just being nice because is

4:05:55Chris really that close to Pat no these

4:05:59names are really different right so I

4:06:02think Pat is going easy on Tom he's not

4:06:06giving him a hard time not giving him a

4:06:10hard time he's helping him save facei

4:06:14helping him save face in other words you

4:06:17know trying to deescalate the situation

4:06:21or make it less intense make it less

4:06:24awkward make it less uncomfortable for

4:06:27everyone one more time quick speed then

4:06:30we level up Tom forgets someone's name

4:06:33at a party and tries to avoid saying it

4:06:36so he keeps calling him buddy even as

4:06:38the conversation gets more Awkward until

4:06:41the other person asks do you even

4:06:43remember my name to which Tom stammers

4:06:46blurting out Chris and the other person

4:06:49laughs and says close but no cigar It's

4:06:53Pat level nine guys we're getting so

4:06:56close to the end of today's video keep

4:06:59pushing keep pushing watch all the way

4:07:01through we're almost done and if you

4:07:04haven't clicked like on this video or

4:07:06left me a comment yet now is a great

4:07:08opportunity to do so medium speed read

4:07:11let's go Tom forgets someone's name at a

4:07:15party and tries to avoid saying it so he

4:07:18keeps calling him buddy even as the

4:07:21conversation gets more Awkward until the

4:07:24other person asks do you even remember

4:07:27my name to which Tom stammers blurting

4:07:30out Chris and the other person laughs

4:07:34and says close but no cigar It's Pat

4:07:38before sheepishly adding wait what's

4:07:41your name again ooh here's the big twist

4:07:44in today's video in today's story I love

4:07:48this so much Pat doesn't remember Tom's

4:07:51name either so because he's also a bit

4:07:55embarrassed he adds sheepishly yeah he

4:07:58says this sheepishly what is sheepish if

4:08:02you do or say something sheepishly that

4:08:05means you're a little embarrassed it's a

4:08:07little awkward maybe you are even a

4:08:10little bit ashamed I remember when I was

4:08:13a little kid I would go to my friend's

4:08:16house for dinner and his mom was a great

4:08:18cook and she would make really delicious

4:08:21food and I would eat one plate of food

4:08:24two plates of food three plates of food

4:08:28and then I would go and ask her

4:08:30sheepishly can I have four plates of

4:08:33food I would ask in a sheepish way or we

4:08:36could say I would ask sheepishly one's

4:08:39an adjective one's an adverb this story

4:08:42is so funny to me these situations where

4:08:45both people are at fault okay let's read

4:08:48it one more time quick speed are you

4:08:50ready Tom forgets someone's name at a

4:08:53party and tries to avoid saying it so he

4:08:56keeps calling him buddy even as the

4:08:58conversation gets more Awkward until the

4:09:01other person asks do you even remember

4:09:03my name to which Tom stammers blurting

4:09:06out Chris and the other person laughs

4:09:09and says close but no cigar it's p

4:09:13before sheepishly adding wait uh what's

4:09:16your name again here we are at level 10

4:09:20the final boss the final boss of today's

4:09:25video guys this is going to be

4:09:27challenging but push I know you can do

4:09:29it and make sure you stick around after

4:09:32level 10 because we are going to do a

4:09:34language breakdown and a speaking

4:09:36cooldown exercise as well okay medium

4:09:40speed read here we go Tom forgets

4:09:43someone's name at a party and tries to

4:09:45avoid saying it so he keeps calling him

4:09:48buddy even as the conversation gets more

4:09:51Awkward until the other person asks do

4:09:54you even remember my name to which Tom

4:09:57stammers blurting out Chris and the

4:10:00other person laughs and says close but

4:10:03no cigar It's Pat before sheepishly

4:10:07adding wait what's your name again both

4:10:11laughed nervously and decide to just

4:10:13stick with Buddy here we have a funny

4:10:15ending to a really funny story they both

4:10:19laugh it off laugh it off what does that

4:10:22mean to laugh something off well if you

4:10:24make a mistake but you just want to move

4:10:27on you don't want to focus on the

4:10:29mistake then you laugh it off you decide

4:10:32to just make light of the situation make

4:10:36light of it and just forget about it

4:10:39just move on so they both laugh

4:10:41nervously they laugh it off and what do

4:10:44they decide to do just stick with Buddy

4:10:47they say hey hey hey you know what let's

4:10:49just forget about it you call me buddy

4:10:52I'll call you buddy problem solved all

4:10:55right quick speed the last time we are

4:10:57going to read today's sentence let's do

4:11:00it Tom forgets someone's name at a party

4:11:02and tries to avoid saying it so he keeps

4:11:05calling a buddy even as the conversation

4:11:07gets more Awkward until the other person

4:11:10asks do you even remember my name to

4:11:12which Tom stammers blurting out and

4:11:15Chris and the other person laughs and

4:11:17says close but no cigar It's Pat before

4:11:21sheepishly adding wait what's your name

4:11:24again both laugh nervously and decide to

4:11:27just stick with Buddy awesome job my

4:11:29friends if you made it through that

4:11:31entire super sentence take your hand

4:11:34give yourself a pat on the back because

4:11:36you are doing fantastic next we have a

4:11:39language breakdown yeah we're going to

4:11:41take a closer look very quick at a

4:11:43couple of the more difficult Expressions

4:11:46we saw in that story starting with close

4:11:49but no cigar once again this means

4:11:52almost correct or successful but not

4:11:55quite yeah doesn't quite hit the mark

4:11:58isn't quite accurate it comes from old

4:12:01carnival games where cigars were given

4:12:04as prizes oh that's kind of interesting

4:12:06I didn't know that here are two example

4:12:09sentences one he almost guessed the

4:12:12number of jelly beans and the jar close

4:12:15but no cigar yeah you know there's a Jar

4:12:17full of candy all of these jelly beans

4:12:20and someone is guessing how many yeah

4:12:25how many Jelly Beans the number of jelly

4:12:27beans in the jar maybe they guess you

4:12:31know 350 but there's actually 360 so

4:12:36close but no cigar the team nearly won

4:12:39the match but missed the final goal

4:12:41close but no cigar yes so they almost

4:12:45won the game or the match we can also

4:12:47say but they missed the final goal so

4:12:50they were close to winning but close but

4:12:53no cigar remember blurt out blurt out it

4:12:57means to say something suddenly without

4:13:00thinking often in an awkward or

4:13:02emotional moment so she blurted out the

4:13:05answer in class before the teacher

4:13:07finished the question yeah I think we

4:13:10all had a person like this in our class

4:13:13when we were in school growing up yeah

4:13:16the teachers's pet in English we call

4:13:19this kind of student the teachers pet it

4:13:22means they want to be the teacher's

4:13:24favorite student and so they are

4:13:26desperate to answer all of the teachers

4:13:29questions and impress them I was so

4:13:32nervous I blurted out my secret without

4:13:34meaning to what does it mean to stick

4:13:37with something it means to continue

4:13:40doing or using something even if it's

4:13:43not perfect or you are unsure about it

4:13:46so for example I decided to stick with

4:13:49my current job even though it's not

4:13:52ideal it's not the perfect situation or

4:13:56the ideal situation but this guy is

4:13:59going to stick with his job his current

4:14:02job that means the job he has right now

4:14:05right he's going to stick with it gonna

4:14:08stick with it that means yeah it's not

4:14:10his favorite job in the world but he's

4:14:13going to keep going with it let's stick

4:14:15with this restaurant it has great

4:14:17reviews yeah maybe one person wants to

4:14:20leave the other person wants to stay and

4:14:23they say let's stick with this

4:14:25restaurant let's not go somewhere else

4:14:28after all after all it has great reviews

4:14:32in other words people have a lot of

4:14:34positive things to say about it and now

4:14:37for my personal favorite part of these

4:14:40videos some speaking practice cool down

4:14:43down yeah you know Guys these super

4:14:45sentence videos are a lot like a hit

4:14:48workout a high intensity training

4:14:51workout for your English and like every

4:14:54good workout we need a cool down so I

4:14:57have a question for you are you good

4:14:59with names yeah do you have a good

4:15:02memory for people's names what do you do

4:15:06if you've forgotten someone's name at a

4:15:08party do you have a special technique or

4:15:11trick what I want you to do is try and

4:15:14speak for one full minute I'm going to

4:15:18go first and give you a demonstration of

4:15:21what I'd like you to try and do so first

4:15:24listen to me and my response then it

4:15:27will be your turn Okay so yeah in my

4:15:31personal case in my personal situation

4:15:35you know I could relate a lot to today's

4:15:38story because I'm terrible with names

4:15:41it's really bad it's really awkward it's

4:15:44really embarrassing for example my

4:15:47current job on the weekend that I do

4:15:50right now I've been there for 2 years

4:15:54two years and there are still several

4:15:57people who I work with on a daily basis

4:16:01but I don't know their name why don't I

4:16:04know their names because uh I never

4:16:07asked they never introduced themselves

4:16:10to me and I never asked them and now

4:16:13it's too late I feel like it's too late

4:16:17to ask it's pretty embarrassing and if I

4:16:20were to ask them now I just feel like

4:16:23that would be really cringe they'd be

4:16:25like you didn't know my name for 2 years

4:16:29all right that was my embarrassing

4:16:31response to this question now it's your

4:16:34turn take the full minute push yourself

4:16:37to keep going talk for that full minute

4:16:40go

4:16:41ahead e

4:17:41okay my friends as as always like this

4:17:44video to support me in my work as your
