The difference between the first fight camp in Miami and now
0:03If we're going to get back to the
0:05memories, like what's the different
0:08between your first fight camp here in
0:12Miami back in the days and the fight
0:15camp right now?
0:17>> Yeah, of course. Uh it's completely
0:19different. First time when I came,
0:23I was living in the gym. I didn't have a
0:26car.
0:27I was like
0:30in the gym for two months and I haven't
0:33been in Miami. I didn't know English. I
0:36just knew like hello, how are you? I'm
0:38good probably. What are you doing? And
0:40that's all. And coach, he was ask me
0:44like when do you leave? And I thought I
0:47thought leave is like like different
0:50word like uh I didn't understand him and
0:52like so I live here. So and he want to
0:55know where I'm heading out to my
0:57competition. Yeah, it's completely
0:59different. And now I know English.
1:03Now I can afford have a house, have a
1:06good cars, have a my personal chef,
1:10nutritionist. And um yeah, it's
1:12completely different now. I take care of
1:15my body very well. I have physical
1:19therapist. I have I have a big team
1:22right now. I have everybody who is
1:25helping me. It's like I feel like I'm
1:27more professional than I was seven years
1:29ago.
Shouting out the massive team supporting him
1:37In my team, I have a lot of people. I
1:39have coaches in Russia, Armenia, in
1:41Dubai, in LA,
1:45in Miami, those places where I travel
1:48and uh where I spend a lot of time. So,
1:52I want to just say thank you to all my
1:54coaches. Uh my team is big. I have uh
1:58camera guys. I have managers.
2:02I have friends who helps me with uh uh
2:05my content. So I have maybe 30 40 people
2:09that taking care of me and I'm trying to
2:12taking care of them. So
Behind the scenes of the fight camp and living the dream
2:19>> back in the days we were watching
2:21abandoned UFC about the fighters how is
2:23they live in the big houses preparing to
2:25the big fights and now we're living the
2:28dream. We're here with the Arman in
2:30front one of the biggest UFC event in
2:32the year. Everything everyone doing like
2:34the things what he needs to do and we're
2:36enjoying. Thank you God for everything
2:39and let's go.
Strength and conditioning coach on Arman optimal shape
2:48Uh Arman is always in great shape. I
2:50worked with him like for several camps.
2:52I cannot like recall and an instance
2:56where he was in like not optimal shape.
2:59He came here he already said in the
3:01beginning of the camp he already feels
3:03in shape. He already feels that his
3:04endurance in great. So it was a matter
3:06of like just adjusting little details.
3:09So we worked on his explosiveness. He
3:11requested that. Yeah. And throughout the
3:14the program, we increased the metrics
3:16that we wanted to increase. So
3:18everything is good right now. It's like
3:20the the most important thing that he's
3:22healthy. He he's in good condition.
3:25Right now just final two weeks he's
3:28going to recover for the fight. And I I
3:30believe everything going to go well.
Running in the rain and doing low base cardio
3:44was good but like rain a little bit
3:47dangerous but I couldn't stop couldn't
3:50stop because because I never stop low
3:54base cardio for probably
3:57uh 1 hour 33 minutes. Not bad.
4:15anytime, anywhere. As a matter of fact,
4:17I'm also going to gift to you guys from
4:19the YouTube channel a special
4:22soundtrack,
4:24Riders on the Storm.
How the personal chef changed his fight camps and weight cuts
4:28I've been working with couple of 5 years
4:31and uh when I start working with him I
4:33never had that issue or was my weight
4:36cut anymore. He's take care of me of my
4:39team and uh before I was thinking what I
4:44got to eat, what I got to cook. I I used
4:47to cook by myself. He was sending me
4:49protocol. I was just cooking whatever he
4:52sended to me. when I started making more
4:56money, I could bring him here and stay
4:59with me for two months and help me with
5:02everything. Uh, he's Italian and I like
5:06Italian food a lot.
Training with Giorgio Petrosyan and learning from his striking
5:17>> Georgia, one of the best I think the
5:20best kickboxer in the world. And uh like
5:24growing up I was always watching his
5:26fights and uh he's the best striker and
5:29I always wanted to train with him. he
5:32was competing professional but when he
5:34retired I talked to him and I asked him
5:38to help me and yeah he he he came to
5:41Armenia and helped me and uh I like him
5:44a lot like not like a coach like a
5:46person and uh he has a good heart and I
5:50like to work with him sometimes you just
5:53need not only a good coach you need a
5:57good person who is going to take care of
5:58you no matter what hap happening and uh
6:02about the skills and about the trainings
6:04and I like his style. I like how he
6:07trains and u he's uh so smart. He
6:10doesn't let you uh do some crazy things.
6:14He likes uh standard things and uh I'm
6:17trying to take his experience and uh be
6:22like him, calm and uh confident on the
6:25striking. I feel like I'm more confident
6:27in the ground, but I want to take his
6:30experience on on the striking as well.
6:32We have been working on this camp a lot
6:34on some techniques. So, I'm so excited
6:37for my next fight. Uh see how it's going
6:40to work.
Arriving at American Top Team
6:48>> Maybe
6:53American
6:55Top Team.
7:21Los Angeles
Combining entertainment media and hard training
7:53Arman is the entertainment guy. He's
7:56like combining like to do the medias to
7:58have fun and to train twice a day. And
8:01it's very uh you know unbasic for the
8:04fighter is how the real superstar could
8:07be. Armenian Batman number one contender
8:10and next UFC lightweight champion for
8:12sure. Let's go.
Dreaming of making content with Arnold Schwarzenegger
8:28I would like to do a content with Arnold
8:32Schwarzenegger because I like him so
8:34much. When I was growing up, I was
8:36watching his old movies. I like him a
8:39lot and I like his story. Stalon as
8:43well. Jakey Chan. Number one is Arnold.
8:47So I want to I want to meet him so much.
8:50is the goat because we kind of have a
8:53same story, you know, and uh he came to
8:56take take over us and uh I have a same
9:00game plan. Uh I want to I came from
9:03Russia and and trying to take over US.
9:07So he did it and I want to be kind of
9:10him.
9:12>> So he's
9:14beautiful.
Head coach on Arman ground game and submission skills
9:19Beautiful. Squeeze 100%.
9:23>> No more 60 on the fight. 60 here. 100%.
9:26Push yourself.
9:29Far is my head coach. We've been working
9:31seven years after Islam fight. He was
9:35always on my corner. He was with me 11
9:37times. He knows me very well. He knows
9:41uh
9:42my game and uh I learned a lot from him
9:47especially ground game randon pound uh
9:50submissions.
9:52Now I can feel I can submit people
9:54because of his game.
Why doing fight camps at American Top Team is crucial
10:06That's something that I always try to to
10:09get him to be here because we can push
10:11him so hard here. We have a great
10:13training partners. We have great
10:15coaches, you know, and with his way of
10:19training, he always trains hard. He
10:21always willing to to learn. I think
10:24that's when he steps up
10:27in every camp, you know. I don't like
10:29when he actually do camps outside of
10:32here because of different reasons, you
10:34know. For example, for the for the Den
10:36Hooker fight, he was already there. The
10:39fight will be in Doha, so he didn't come
10:40here. He made some mistakes on the
10:42fights, you know. So, I don't like to to
10:45be away from him too much, you know. I
10:47like when he stays here that we can
10:48correct all the mistakes, you know, but
10:51I feel that this camp we have spent a
10:54good amount of time, you know, and we
10:57correcting on a daily basis everything
10:59that we doing. It's it's for the best.
11:02And I'm happy with the result so far.
11:03And Arman is a very confident guy. You
11:06know, he what he says is about
11:08confidence, not about underestimating.
11:10I don't underestimate anyone. And I
11:12don't let the guys that I train
11:14underestimate anyone. And he's
11:16definitely not doing it. We are taking
11:18Ruffy very seriously. We're taking Ruffy
11:22as an endangerous opponent on the
11:24September 19th. He will do his job and
11:26we're going to go for the title next.
Alexandre Pantoja on Arman work ethic in the gym
11:49It's good. It's very good to have Arma
11:50here in the gym. You know, America Top
11:52Team had very hard work all the time and
11:55Arma is one hard works. come to the gym,
11:58make two, three things every day, push
12:00everybody in the gym, too. You know,
12:02it's very good have athletes like Arma
12:04around us. It's going to be a very tough
12:06fight for RF. I I know 100% Armon is one
12:09of the best fights of the world and this
12:11fight is going to be very very tough. We
12:14hope you uh the good finish and to get
12:17back what yours belto
Analyzing Alexandre Pantoja upcoming fight
12:21is the best
12:23>> flyweight fighter.
12:26So
12:27one has a good boxing. It's like kind of
12:30me versus Tapurya. You know if Panto
12:33going to wrestle take him down is the
12:35fight is going to be over. But if he's
12:38going to be struggle with taking down,
12:39it's going to be hard fight for him
12:41because on the striking one is so good
12:44his boxing and he hits hard for the
12:47flyweights. But I believe Pantoja can uh
12:50take him down and uh to his ground game
12:54because on the ground he's incredible
12:56grappler. He chocks out people so easily
12:58during the trainings. Even highlevel uh
13:01fighters that he spar I watch his
13:03sparrings.
13:04So, I'm excited for his fight and I hope
13:06he's going to win.
Taking the Mauricio Ruffy fight as seriously as a title fight
13:14>> I have a big fight coming up with Mara
13:17Rufi. He's a I feel like the best
13:21striker right now in our division.
13:24Dangerous. I'm taking Mara Rufi as
13:27opponent like my title fight. Every
13:30fight for me it's important. I give all
13:33myself in training camp
13:36and uh if I'm going to lose this fight,
13:39I'm never going to see title fight. So
13:41that's why I'm super motivated for this
13:44fight, super hungry, and uh I've been
13:48working so hard for that moment. And uh
13:52I never underestimate him, especially
13:55his striking. So, I got to be so smart
13:58during the fight because he has a good
14:01punch. So, he knocked out a lot of
14:03people. But now it's my time. So, I have
14:08a good game plan and uh it's going to
14:11work very well. So, I'm not saying that
14:14it's going to be easy fight, it's going
14:15to be hard fight, but I get the victory.
14:18>> Now, just maintenance. Now, technique,
14:21strategy with George Oair, you know,
14:24fight week. We're going to review
14:26everything.
14:29>> Nothing crazy.
Message to the fans in LA ahead of UFC 331
14:30>> I'm so excited to fight in LA. A lot of
14:33Armenian people. Everybody excited and u
14:37can't wait to show them good performance
14:40and I want to say everybody come to
14:42watch my fight. It's going to be
14:44incredible fight. So I'm going to show
14:47you the best performance of our manukin.
14:50And uh you leave Arena
14:53saying that fight was so good and uh it
14:57was make sense to come and watch that.
