0:00Your rainiest places on Earth are at the
0:02equator. That's where you get the Amazon
0:04rainforest. And your driest places on
0:06Earth are at 30° north and 30° south
0:10because the cylindrical movements of air
0:12have descending [music]
0:13air there. So, the Mojave Desert, the
0:15Sahara Desert, the Gobi Desert, they're
0:18all around 30° north latitude. [music]
0:22And India would be a desert cuz it's
0:23right in that zone, were it not for the
0:26seasonal monsoons. It doesn't rain much
0:29in India except when it's monsoon
0:30season. So, So, the monsoon is sort of
0:33the exception to what would otherwise
0:34happen there. And that's why everyone
0:36loves the monsoon. They hate it, but
0:37they love it. It cools the weather
