0:06Hello and welcome to Natural Stone Outlet.

0:08Today we are going to talk about

0:10Moca Cream limestone from Portugal.

0:13It's a very famous limestone, let's have

0:15a look at it.

0:17So on this side we have the classic type

0:21of Moca Cream. This is the most common type

0:24of Moca Cream limestone. What you see here

0:27is basically is a medium-grain limestone,

0:31with the.. you can see the parallel vein

0:34along the stone, so this is typical from

0:38this limestone. In terms of colour, what we

0:41see is the background is a bit light beige,

0:44while the vein becomes a little bit

0:46darker. So we have two colour tone

0:48variations, from light beige to dark beige or

0:51brownish. The Moca Cream Classic is the

0:53most common type, so normally if you ask

0:56for Moca Cream, this is what you get.

0:58Please note that this sample is polished,

1:00which highlights a bit the of colour of the

1:02stone, you can see the vein it's more

1:04visible. And this little sample here, I

1:08put this one next to the big one because

1:09i would like to make the comparison. Here

1:11we have a cross-cut Moca Cream

1:13limestone. So essentially the blocks in

1:15the quarry, they are extracted with the

1:18vein horizontally, so what you get is the

1:21vein along the stone. So it's extracted

1:25like this. To get the cross-cut, the block

1:28is turned and then it is sawn. So what you

1:32get, instead of getting the parallel

1:34horizontal vein, you don't get any

1:36vein at all. So you get some shaded areas,

1:39you get some clouds, but the colour is

1:43quite uniform, you don't see much vein,

1:45you don´t see much dark, it's all pretty much light beige.

1:48But you see, you know, dots here and there,

1:52some shaded areas. So this is a cross-cut

1:55Moca Cream limestone. This is a vein-cut

1:58Moca Cream limestone.

2:00And please note that this sample is

2:01honed and this one is polished. That's why

2:03you can see the colour tone variation.

2:05If both samples are honed or polished, they

2:07would have the same colour tone. On this

2:10side again we have some honed samples,

2:13it's not polished like the Classic type.

2:16So it becomes a bit more pale, but anyway,

2:19here we can show you the fine grain

2:21Moca Cream. So what we have here, we

2:24still have the parallel vein, which is

2:27typical of the Moca Cream limestone,

2:28parallel vein, so this is a vein-cut

2:32block. So we see the vein running

2:36along the tile but very fine, very

2:40very fine, very discreet. So if you look

2:42at the distance, you can hardly see the

2:44vein. But anyway, it's a little bit

2:47uniform, it's a bit soft, it´s a bit gentle

2:49if compared to the Moca Cream

2:51Classic and the colour is quite uniform.

2:54The difference between the vein and the

2:57background it's not much, so just the fine

3:00grain variation of the Moca Cream.

3:03Also a bit popular this one, if this one is a

3:05bit more expensive the Classic type it's

3:08more affordable, because there's more

3:10quantity of Classic and less quantity of

3:13fine grain. So pretty much this is the

3:15main difference between the two.

3:17The thickness of the grain, this one is a

3:20little bit more consistent than this one,

3:21and yeah, also bit more expensive. So this

3:26is it about the Moca Cream.

3:27Thank you for watching and see you next time.
