0:00if you have a child with dyslexia it's
0:05it's it's really learning what is their
0:09superpower every child has a superpower
0:11if you're dyslexic it's kind of your
0:12superpower it's like the way that you
0:14think so then you just need to be given
0:16tools and opportunities and learning
0:20like like passion based learning you
0:23know and if education is a challenge for
0:26a child with dyslexia you need to
0:28understand how to educate them so that
0:30it isn't a challenge so that it's fun
0:32because it's not that they're stupid
0:33it's not they're not capable they just
0:36need to learn how to be how to enjoy the
0:38process of learning if kids are enjoying
0:41education then they're enjoying learning
0:43in life then they're gonna be a happier
0:46human if they have that creative part of
0:49themselves engaged and ignited I'd I'm
0:52so lucky because I always knew honours
0:54to be an active and I get to do this for
0:55a living it's amazing you know it was
0:59always what I wanted to do since I was a
1:01kid there's a lot of it was a lot of
1:03extra time and work to to to get on to
1:06the stage but it was when I was there
1:08and focused on stage there was nothing
1:12like it you know school was a challenge
1:15it wasn't easy
1:16it required extra classes extra time one
1:21of my early school reports said
1:24something along the lines of if Orlando
1:26wasn't you know looking at the window
1:28daydreaming or in in at the you know the
1:31hamster cage he'd be a very valuable
1:34member of the class in some form or
1:36another but and I think that you know it
1:39wasn't really known about dyslexia
1:41particularly when I was at school people
1:43didn't talk about it I had to learn as I
1:45was growing up to spell my timetables
1:49the times table was like history dates
1:51by row everything was like by row by row
1:53by row did I retain any of that
1:55information I don't think so where I got
2:00real education I feel like was at drama
2:02school when I started looking at like
2:05the metaphysical poet's
2:07like Milton and John Donne and it was
2:11like you just exploded my imagination my
2:15imagination which i think is the gift of
2:18dyslexia is what's also given me
2:21different kinds of insights into
2:24character into the way that I live my
2:26life as well I mean it's been a great
2:27gift I mean I I think I I can sort of
2:31look at any thing and think through it
2:34in a way that I don't necessarily and
2:38seeing other people do things I'm
2:39realizing I don't think people do think
2:41the way I think sometimes I think when
2:44you are labeled which is sort of what I
2:49felt like her happened to me as a child
2:50I was I felt labeled by dyslexia and I
2:53didn't like that I didn't like that
2:56feeling however that feeling is part of
3:00what kicked me to work harder and try to
3:04overcome imagine a world where you've
3:07got you know a little you know where
3:09you've got like a force of people who
3:11have this gift of dyslexia educated in a
3:14way that supports them I mean
3:17problem-solving things in the world I
3:19mean I know that like the way that I
3:20think about things is is not the most
3:23direct route but I I also know that it's
3:28that it's it means anything's possible
3:31you know it means anything is possible
3:35and that's the sort of thinking that
3:38leaders have that's the sort of thinking
3:41that evolves humanity that's the sort of
3:45thinking that you know allows freedom
3:48you know of expression and the potential
3:52for anything anything
