intro
0:00All right, let's not waste your time. This video is split up into four sections by difficulty. Beginner, learning basic knowledge, intermediate, beginning to improve, advanced, rounding out weaknesses, and master, nearing the skill ceiling. If you fully master all of these techniques, you have a good shot at number one in the world. This video is made for people who know a lot
0:16about the game mode, and people who have never played crystal, or really any kind of Minecraft PvP before. So, please bear with me as I explain some of these. In
keybinds
0:24my last video on mace PvP, I briefly went over keybinds and talked about their importance. For crystal PvP, however, keybinds are required from the start. No more scroll wheel. You'll have to sacrifice that to begin your dream. Keybinds are specific keys near your movement hand that are bound to specific slots in the hotbar. Crystal is the kind
0:40of game mode where quick reaction time and [music] split-second decisions govern who wins and who loses. So, keybinds are a necessity. Here's all of mine if you want to copy them. Make sure to press escape, options, and keybind. Crystal PvP is very interesting because
disclaimers
0:52the kit can vary a lot. In this slot, for example, some might want a mace for certain techniques from later on. Or others might want an axe to to save shields. Some may actually want a shield in that slot, and some want a crossbow, some want an elytra. It really depends on the type of player. Here is also a
1:07list of mods that are super useful for crystal PvP. I'll be explaining them at the end of the video. Crystal PvP also requires a lot of clicking super fast at the higher levels. So, I suggest learning and becoming familiar with these kinds of clicking strategies when doing advanced level techniques. Also, some of the rankings may not be exactly
1:23where you'd like them to be, and within sections, difficulty of techniques do not apply to their order. Just remember that this is subjective. This is my opinion. There's a lot of techniques, so buckle up. Let's talk about crystal
crystal rules and fundamentals
1:34rules and fundamentals. There are two sources of damage in a crystal kit, end crystals and respawn anchors. I will talk more about anchors in a minute. End crystals are entities that can be placed on obsidian or bedrock, and explode when broken with the left click. Crystals will only do damage above the block that they are placed on. The player's hit box
1:50is actually quite deceptive, as they take way more damage by the lower half of their hit box. So, So, a crystal at the same level that you're standing on will do the most damage, around over half health. The first and most basic
BEGINNER: crystalling
2:01technique is placing and breaking crystals really fast. Say your opponent is one block above you, and you notice that. You can place obsidian, and then place a crystal on top of it, and break it. This way, you'll be looking at the obsidian and the crystal entity, allowing you to crystal without moving your mouse. So, right click, and then
2:16left click. If you go back and forth between right and left click, you can place crystals very fast. Or, you could do a kind of rolling motion from right to left with your two fingers. But, something to note is that crystals will explode from basically anything hitting [music] it. So, if you shoot an arrow at it, you throw a pearl at it, anything
2:29will break it. The second and most
BEGINNER: hit crystalling
2:30important [music] technique in crystal PvP, or CPvP, is called hit crystal. Three key binds are required for this technique. One for the sword, one for obsidian, and one for crystal. In an ideal world, these three key binds can all be pressed with different fingers for faster inputs. The idea is to hit your opponent and place and break an end
2:46crystal at the exact moment that the lower half of their body is above the obsidian. This way, you can fight someone while on flat ground. First, wait for your sword's cool down to be finished, and then hit them while sprinting. This gives them the most vertical knockback possible. However, if you're using knockback one, you should instead just hit them while standing
3:02still, as it'll keep them closer to you, making it easier to do more damage. Sprint hit them, switch to and place obsidian to the left or to the right of them, and switch to and place an end crystal on top of it, and then left click to break it. Try practicing on a stationary bot. There's a great map that I've
3:17linked in the description. Most players use it, and it's also in the top right of your screen. Make sure to really get the timing down, and practice placing the obby, short for obsidian, on both the left and the right sides of your opponent in order to stay unpredictable.
BEGINNER: slow falling
3:28If you're having a lot of trouble getting the actions done fast enough, don't worry. Crystal PvP kits on most servers actually have a crossbow that can fire something called slow falling arrows, which make your opponents fall slower temporarily. This gives you a larger window to get the actions done. I would recommend practicing with slow falling before phasing it out. Or, you
3:45can slowly increase the tick rate to normal speed with a mod, which does about the same thing. Also, any opponents that are hit with slow falling will go up much higher after crystal them, which is great for combos. And I will teach you how to combo later. Something important to note is that any entity above the obsidian will obstruct
4:00you from being able to place a crystal there. This includes any players and shot arrows. Because of your advantage when underneath your opponent, players will utilize terrain to their benefit. So, if you see your opponent grappling on a ledge, you can quickly place obsidian and crystal. At the same time, you need to avoid doing anything wrong on a ledge. Opening your inventory,
4:16eating, shooting arrows, nothing should be done on a ledge ever. Blocks placed
BEGINNER: blocking off
4:19between your legs and a damage source will protect you. And if your opponent is spamming, using indestructible blocks will guarantee your safety. If you are ever caught in a dangerous situation, either pearl out or block off with obby in front of you and underneath you to avoid the ground under you being broken
BEGINNER: anchors
4:33by anchors. Respawn anchors are an indestructible block that when right clicked with glowstone will charge up to a maximum of four charges. A charged anchor, when right clicked with anything besides glowstone, will explode, creating fire and destroying terrain below it, unlike crystals. A huge mistake I see players make is placing an anchor and spamming it full of
4:51glowstone. A fully charged anchor does no more damage than a single level charged anchor. So, basically, you waste time and three glowstone. Instead, switch to and right click to place an [music] anchor, switch to and right click with glowstone, and switch to and right click with something else. This way, you use one anchor and one glowstone per
5:06explosion, quadrupling your anchor supply. It's even faster if you right click and switch to your blocks on the same tick. So, you could do an anchor in three game ticks. By the way, if you don't know, each tick is 1/20th of a second. So, 150 milliseconds per anchor.
BEGINNER: hole fighting
5:20Anchors are really good for something called hole fight. Because anchors destroy the ground, many fights will actually take place within holes, where small differences in terrain are life and death. When you're in a hole, there's three things to remember. Number one, damage tick. When a player takes damage in Minecraft, they flash red for 10 game ticks or 0.5 seconds. During
5:36this period, they, A, do not take any knockback, and B, can only take damage from greater damage sources, not equal damage sources, greater damage sources. This is why you can't spam click in modern PvP, but you can hit crystal. Even though your sword hit puts them in a damage tick, the crystal does more damage, so it still goes through.
5:55Because anchors create fire, any player standing in fire will have constant replenishing damage ticks. So, they will be impossible to give knockback to. Because the person who is on fire is at a major advantage. Standing outside of the fire, but still being on fire, gives your opponent a small window where they can hit you. But, this can still mess
6:10with your opponent's muscle memory. Basically, if you're on fire, you're good. If your opponent's on fire, that's that. Number two. Let's say you and your opponent are at a standstill, where you can't hit each other because you are sitting in fire. And let's say you can't even reach your opponent's fire to put it out. What you do in this situation is
6:24super simple. Just anchor next to that. This opens up the terrain and puts both of you back into the fight, while also hopefully doing good damage to your opponent. Number three, ceilings. If there's ever a situation where there's just obsidian above your head, let's say you place an anchor where your opponent blocked off, you can actually use that
6:38as a ceiling. Your opponent can't hit you up if you're under something indestructible. However, remember that their sprint hits can eventually get you out of the hole, or they could just anchor again to remove that advantage. Remember, you can always hit crystal on obsidian that's already been placed. It's faster and can catch your opponent off guard. Pearls are extremely useful
BEGINNER: pearls
6:54in crystal PvP, as regular movement is just often too slow. If you're ever caught in a disadvantageous position, the best thing to do is block off, pearl out, and hold two totems. Pearls can also be used to attack, and those kinds of strategies will be explained in the intermediate section. Do remember that pearls move with your momentum. So, you
7:10can escape really deep holes by jumping while throwing, or attack your opponent from farther by sprint jumping while throwing. Also, after teleporting, you will receive damage based on where you were standing before teleporting, not after. So, if you pearl into a crystal, the damage you take is based off of where you pearled from. So, you likely won't instantly pop. Something that's
BEGINNER: saturation
7:27super important in CPvP is known as saturation. This is usually invisible unless you have a mod to show it, like Apple Skin. You should have Apple [music] Skin. Saturation is basically stored energy, but in crystal PvP, it's more like stored hearts. If you ever lose hearts or take damage, any saturation you have will replenish those hearts. Because of the fast-paced nature
7:44of CPvP, it's important to always have a full saturation bar by eating golden apples so as to have the advantage over your opponent. Full saturation means you can tank a lot more damage without
BEGINNER: totems
7:52popping. Speaking of popping, let's talk about totems. Totems are your main advantage in crystal. The most important thing about them is learning how to use them all before dying. If you're ever in a disadvantageous position and don't have time to block up or pearl out, simply hold a totem in your main hand. Because you should have a totem in your
8:06off hand already, please do don't use shield. Having a totem slot with a good keybind attached to it can keep you alive. In an ideal situation, you run out of totems completely before dying. You should always have totems near the upper middle of your inventory because when you open your inventory, your mouse cursor automatically is placed in that
8:21area, making re-toteming a lot faster. Make sure your switch to off hand key is something that's really close to your fingers. Speaking of the shield, the
BEGINNER: shield
8:27shield is good to have as a keybind. Do not off hand the shield. Any slightly experienced player will just disable it and kill you instantly. Trust me, there are lots of ways to get around the shield. Shields will protect from any damage as long as you're holding right click and looking at the source of damage. Always keep track of the
8:40shield's durability and repair it when you need it. I'll talk about repairing more in the intermediate [music] section. Do keep in mind that any prepared player will have an axe to disable your shield or more advanced techniques for getting around the shield. One more niche situation to know
BEGINNER: overhead crystalling
8:51about is if you're away below your opponent. Let's say they're three blocks above you so you can't reach the top of the obsidian to both hit the entity and place. Instead, you want to flick your mouse back and forth, up and down. Look at the obsidian and right click, look at the crystal entity above it and left
9:03click. It's a lot slower than before but could still give you a quick totem pop. Now we need to talk about the gayest
BEGINNER: weakness
9:07strategy ever. Weakness. Weakness tipped arrows can be swapped out for slow falling and weakness at the max level will do something crucial. A player affected with weakness will be unable to explode a crystal while holding a crystal. Weakness is more of a mental debuff. It screws with your opponent's muscle memory. The only real way to get around it is to switch to a sword before
9:25hitting the crystal, which makes it much, much harder. Something else to note is that popping a totem removes all debuffs, including weakness. Also, strength two potions will actually do enough counter action so that your damage can still break crystals. But it's usually not worth it to carry around a strength pot instead of a totem. Especially when you know how to
9:41re-totem really well. Let's start talking about intermediate techniques. This is where you actually learn game winning strategies. I put most of the mechanics before [music] and after this section. As in order to reach the advanced level, you should also learn how to adapt in different scenarios and combine techniques to take advantage of
INTERMEDIATE: d tapping
9:55people. First up is de-tapping. De-tapping from now on is going to replace hit crystal. De-tapping, which is short for double tapping, involves hit crystal quickly and then crystal them again after their damage tick ends. Reminder that for two sources of damage that do the same or less damage, only the first one will do damage during the damage period. That means you have to
10:12wait for the damage tick to end. And their feet needs to still be above the obsidian. Knockback one actually makes this easier as you don't need to sprint hit and then move with less horizontal knockback. Also, placing the crystal and obsidian behind them after hitting them actually gives them more vertical knockback afterwards, making it very easy to de-tap or combo more
10:28consistently. Take some time to practice the timing for de-taps. This is an extremely important technique in CPVP. From now on, almost all of the hit crystal oriented techniques will involve de-tapping instead. Now, let's say you've anchored someone. What's the next step? The next technique is something
INTERMEDIATE: ledge dashing
10:41known as ledge dashing, which is where you pearl down into a hole you've just created in order to get down faster and quickly place crystals. Most of my crystal matches are won this way. So make sure you have the reaction time enough to pearl at the lowest point. So, once again, your opponent pearls at you attempting a pearl flash. Your opponent
10:56pearls at you starting the encounter. But before they have a chance to, you predict where they are going to land and place an anchor. Quickly right click a pearl to teleport to the lowest point, place obsidian, and spam crystals. It's even more effective if your opponent has slow falling as it gives you way more time to pull it off and get settled.
11:11This is why pearl flashing should be done closer to your opponent rather than farther away as it can simply just delete their anchor if done properly. Another great way to use the anchor is KO anchoring, a colloquial term for me, where after your opponent has popped the totem in any way, you quickly anchor as fast as you can to finish them off
11:26before they can re-totem. This is a very fast and very simple way to end matches and and of people just don't expect it
INTERMEDIATE: triple swap anchoring
11:31to happen. In order to anchor faster, you should learn how to attribute swap anchor or triple swap anchor. I mentioned this earlier and now I'm going to talk about the strategies for doing it. I covered attribute swapping in lots more detail in my maze tutorial video. So, you should go watch that. But, in basic terms, by switching to and using
11:44an item at the same time, you can use it in one game tick or 1/20 of a second. Extremely oversimplified, but that's all that matters for crystal PvP. So, you could switch to an anchor and right click on the same tick to place [music] it. Switch to glowstone and right click on the same tick to charge it. And
11:58switch to something else and right click on the same tick to blow it up. This way, anchoring can happen in three ticks or 150 milliseconds. Much harder to predict. You can do it perfectly by butterfly clicking, which is a method in which you use two fingers at the same time on the same side of the mouse to
12:10click so much faster. I've linked a tutorial in the description. Using
INTERMEDIATE: ravine rushing
12:13anchors, you can begin to do something known as ravine rushing, where you place anchors parallel to the edge of the explosion and place another anchor following your opponent under the ground in the attempt to put them in a position where it's easy to crystal them. Just be careful that you're always placing it above you and that there's always a
12:27block next to your feet in between you
INTERMEDIATE: circling
12:29and the anchor. Another great way to use the anchor is to counter shield. This method is called circling and it's really simple. [music] When your opponent is shielding aggressively, you can just quickly place an anchor behind them as long as they're close to you. This makes for a great way to catch your opponent off guard. A common pattern in
12:42CVP can allow for some crazy plays. Just
INTERMEDIATE: turtle master potions
12:44like you can carry potions of strength on you, you can also bring along a potion of turtle master, which grants you either resistance four or resistance three for a brief period of time. This will limit your movement, making it harder to play aggressively, but it will seriously detract from the amount of damage your opponent can do to you,
12:57which can turn the tide in a match quickly. Just remember that a totem removes all the potion effects.
INTERMEDIATE: ping awareness
13:01Something to consider is that when playing on an actual server, your ping and your opponent's ping are going to mess with your time. If your opponent has high ping, your hits will have a slight delay on your end, messing with your death time. Learning how to deal with this just comes with practice and getting a sense of how bad their lag is.
13:14If you have high ping, you should just give up. Super important notice. As you
INTERMEDIATE: mending
13:17get better and better at toteming, you'll notice that your games will start to become longer and as a result of that, a major issue will become armor durability. Crystals and explosives of that kind do a ton of damage to your armor. So, it's recommended to have and use bottles of enchanting, which upon use will release experience orbs to mend
13:33your armor. Make sure to do it while your opponent is out of action. Okay, um
INTERMEDIATE: pearl flashing
13:37I'm already editing this and I low-key forgot to talk about pearl flashing. So, pearl flashing is when you throw a pearl at your opponent and the damage tick protects you from being knocked back. So, you can just pearl at them, hit them, and then perform a D-tap. It's really easy, but it's super important, so I really had to add in this. I'm sorry.
13:55Guys, I'm so tired.
gamesense
13:56All right. As you start playing actual matches, you'll start to notice how little techniques actually matter. Obviously, they're the baseline knowledge to get started with crystal, but this game mode is special in the fact that game sense can actually matter more [music] than technique knowledge. Game sense can mean anything from understanding your position relative to the terrain to your armor durability and
14:13saturation to your opponent's armor durability and saturation. Make sure to get a lot of games in. They can end quickly. All right. Now that we're done with the intermediate techniques, we can come back to the mechanics-based techniques with the advanced section. Just an FYI, some of these advanced and master techniques I actually cannot do. So, I'll be taking clips from myself on
14:29a lower tick rate, Lizard, or other crystal compilations. I'll link Lizard's and all of the channels in the
ADVANCED: totem anchoring
14:34description. The first change you'll have to make before going into advanced is totem anchoring. I actually had to change this about my play style recently. When anchoring, instead of switching to something random like a sword or something else to blow up the anchor, it's more effective to switch to a totem in order to skip having to off-hand totem when you pop. Fast and
ADVANCED: butterfly crystalling
14:48efficient. The first major technique is called butterfly crystal. This is an advance on the D-tap where because you place the crystal behind them, you can predict their location and continue to place crystals all around. Sometimes even chasing them down with pearls. This is great for countering players that are really good at double toteming and predicting your D-taps. The second
ADVANCED: stun d tap
15:03advanced technique is called the stun D-tap. If your opponent is aggressively shielding and you have an axe in your hot bar ready, you can double click them with the axe. The [music] tutorial for that is in the description. The first register click will break their shield and the second will knock them upwards so that you can quickly D-tap them.
ADVANCED: fake anchor
15:16Another way to counter someone aggressively shielding is the fake anchor. Let's say you're in a hole with your opponent and they're severely drained. You can place and charge an anchor on one side of them so that they look that way. And then place an anchor opposite of them to finish them off. Very badass and disrespectful way to
15:29kill someone. But in this game mode, you should take any advantage you have. The
ADVANCED: safe anchor
15:32next technique is an infamously difficult and mechanically intensive one to do, known as the safe anchor. In order to perform this, you have to place an anchor, charge it with glowstone, place glowstone in between your feet and the anchor to protect yourself, and blow it up. It takes four right clicks per anchor in order to do this.
15:48And awkward timings for the anchor and glowstone keybinds. The benefit is that you have no need to stop comboing as you can take very minimal damage. This is the best and the most efficient way to anchor spam on someone who is slow at toteming or bad at blocking off.
ADVANCED: damage tick anchor control
15:59Something important to know before doing a regular anchor spamming without glowstone is that in order to start a combo, you should apply a damage tick to you and your opponent. This way, the first anchor won't knock you or your opponent back, allowing you to get into the combo faster. This damage tick can be from a D-tap, fire, or anything that
16:13gives either you or your opponent a damage tick to make the combo easier to maintain. Here's a technique that many
ADVANCED: airplace
16:18professional players have heard all too much about. It's called air place, and it involves double-clicking again. When you're ready to blow up an anchor, you can hold an anchor in your hand, double-click, and the anchor should blow up with another one instantly replacing it in the midair. Then you can blow up the second anchor. This is great as an
16:32alternative to a D-tap because your opponent is likely already good at predicting D-taps, but not air place. It's also great for freeing up space from the stupid people who just dig a one-by-one. A great way to counter
ADVANCED: d tap into anchor
16:42players who are good at double toteming is called the D-tap into anchor. It's exactly what it sounds like. You D-tap them, and as they run away to re-totem, anchor them as fast as possible to finish them off. Ledge
ADVANCED: ledge chaining
16:51chaining is a technique done primarily deep underground. The explosions from a D-tap creates a ledge for your opponents to fall onto, where you can then D-tap them again. It's like stepping up a staircase of D-taps. When done perfectly, a lot of opponents will actually have no time to react. You D-tap them, jump onto the ledge that they're on, and quickly D-tap them once
ADVANCED: dual anchor
17:08more. A dual anchor is done when your opponent is in damage tick. You place two anchors and charge them both, activating them both really fast. This is done in certain situations where a regular air place or anchor chain just won't cut it. Like say your opponent is in their inventory and they would be able to react to one anchor after
17:21another, but not two in quick succession. Just make sure to blow up the second one after the damage tick ends. Let's talk about different kinds of fights. A bedrock fight is done, you
ADVANCED: bedrock fights
17:28guessed it, at bedrock level. This kind of fight is interesting because crystal can be placed on bedrock anywhere. Just watch your pearls as it's easy to get caught in the strange terrain [music] at
ADVANCED: meta fights
17:36the bedrock floor. A meta fight is one that takes place in a one by one hole. This doesn't happen often unless you or your opponent likes to dig into one by one holes, which is a big no-no. But if this happens, make sure to have a pickaxe in your utility slot. Mine is axe. The best way to get out is to mine a
17:52hole in the side of the hole and [music] anchor to free up space. If you think your opponent is trying to do that, you can actually predict them and hit them upwards so their feet are next to the anchor. And this allows you to continue comboing them right afterwards. Skidding
ADVANCED: skidding
18:03is the first elytra adjacent technique in crystal, but it's so easy to do that I decided to put it in advance rather than master. In order to do this, you need to fly with a flight duration three rocket. Take off your elytra when you wish to stop and put it back on and press space twice to fly again when you
18:17want to keep going. The rocket duration from the flight duration three rocket actually lasts even when you take off your elytra. This technique skids you along the ground, which is important movement tech for the later strategies. Now, before moving on to the master techniques, I need to mention a few things. Crystal is the kind of game mode
18:31where any advantage allowed by the rules is taken, especially at the highest levels. Here's a couple examples of this
MASTER: weird things that ppl do
18:37kind of thing. Many players in crystal PvP will have a completely separate keyboard at their feet in order to place and do actions faster. Some might actually go buy a second mouse. Others, like Dr. Donut, will swap their jump and attack button in order to place and break crystals with two different hands rather than one. You see what I mean?
18:53There are likely hundreds of tiny little things that the real professionals do that are just completely gatekept from the rest of the community. So, if you want to reach the top, you got to get creative. All right, it's the master [music] techniques. These are the highest level techniques, strategies, and play style changes that only the top players put to full use. Think of them
19:09like the finishing touches to your
MASTER: all of the mace strategies
19:10skills. The first thing you need to learn is all of the mace strategies. You should go watch my last tutorial on mace PvP if you want a detailed [music] explanation about these, but the most useful ones in crystal are breach swapping and rocket macing. Crystal PvP is very special because you can use practically any tactic you [music] want.
19:24So, if you want to just rocket mace players, you can. Just know it can put you in danger, so it's best used in tandem with crystals. You could also learn rocket stun slamming, which is super difficult. But, if you're able to learn how to do it, it just gives you a major advantage over everyone else. It's simply taking off your elytra, switching
19:40to axe to break the shield, ideally actually be swapping, and then switching to mace to click them, ideally actually be swapping. Breach swapping can quickly melt a player of their totems if done correctly. And this works especially great with resistance pots. Watch the video that shows up in the top right corner for examples of this. Trust me,
19:56it's super entertaining. Now, let's
MASTER: tick lockout
19:58learn about something called tick lockout. This mechanic was most famously described by Marlo, the former and current, I don't really know, top player on Minecraft who has had a whole lot of drama recently. Basically, when Minecraft receives two keybind inputs in one tick, 50 milliseconds, Minecraft ignores the slot farthest to the left and prioritizes the slot farther to the
20:18right. For example, let's say you want to hit crystal someone and press the obsidian and the crystal keybind in the same tick. If you have the obsidian to the left of the crystal, you'll just fail your action trying to place a crystal. But, if you instead have the crystal to the left of the obsidian, you'll succeed in placing the obsidian
20:33in the tick. Placing the obsidian is definitely the better of the two outcomes, so it's better to have the obsidian to the right of the crystals. I actually need to change this. Sometimes
MASTER: double blast prot tech
20:40opponents will play with blast protection four on both their pants and their boots, rather than the default just pants. This decreases the knockback from everything and makes it way harder to detap. It might actually be impossible. So, learning how to hit crystal and then anchor fast is the best way to deal with these kinds of players. I believe the crystal spike to be the
20:57best way to deal with this, and I'll teach you that in a couple seconds.
MASTER: knockback displacement
20:59Knockback displacement was also recently covered by Marlo. Remember, just because Marlo is probably just kind of cheating, doesn't mean the info isn't valid. When you hit someone, Minecraft calculates the momentum by taking your look direction from the last tick. So, if you looked super far to the right in one tick and then looked back and hit them
21:16on the next one, they'll fly to the right instead of flying forward. This is great for spring-hitting players onto ledges in different directions and/or canceling their momentum entirely [music] in all sorts of scenarios. Now, let's talk about more of the actual mechanics-based master techniques. The
MASTER: elytra d tap
21:29first one is called the elytra detap. You can either skid or dive bomb towards your opponent, but what matters most is the surprise aspect of it. Take off your elytra before hitting them and then performing a detap. Not really much more to explain on this one, even though it's really difficult. You can actually remove most of your horizontal momentum
21:44by flying in an arc so that when you land, you're going nearly straight downwards. Here's a clip of Dr. Donut doing it to Marlo. The second master
MASTER: crystal spike
21:50mechanic is called [music] the crystal spike. I mentioned this earlier. This is researched by Ghosted. Both channels are linked in the description. It is similar to the detap into the anchor, but instead of two crystals and one anchor, it's one crystal and two anchors. But, the two anchors are done with air places. So, you need to do a hit crystal, predict
22:06about where they're going to land, and then air place two anchors there. Many players will see one crystal and move the hand off of their totem, in which you can quickly air place to catch them off guard. The TheeBys anchor is a
MASTER: th3bes anchor
22:15variation of the detap, famously performed by former high tier two TheeBys. When underground, instead of performing a regular detap, you can actually use a single crystal and then place an anchor on the obsidian. And this will open up the terrain even which allows for many more opportunities for ledge chaining. And also, the final
MASTER: triple tap
22:31technique of the entire video, which is called the triple tap. Sounds crazy, I know. >> [music] >> The double tap was hard enough. For the triple tap, you need to inflict a damage tick on them >> [music] >> and use one crystal. But, instead of using another crystal after the damage tick runs out, you hit them into the air
22:45again with your sword, where you can again use a second crystal [music] and then a third crystal after the damage tick is worn off. So, it's a single hit crystal, hit them into the air, double tap. You can see very clearly how absolutely devastating this combo is when performed perfectly. As even a player are a totem in both their off
23:01hand and their main hand can die in one swift motion. Now, let's review a few of
counters
23:05the counters just in case you end up in a real fight. To counter a player using the shield aggressively, you can use the stun detap, fake anchor, or circling to get around it. To counter a player who pearls aggressively, be ready to surprise anchor. As a counter a player who's very passive, be ready to pearl flash. To counter anchor spammers,
23:21block up. To counter people who dig one by ones, either air place or play meta. Crystal is all about being unpredictable. So, switch up your play styles often. All right, if you watched this far, maybe you're looking for my texture packs, maybe you're looking for my mods. But, before I get into that, I need to talk about some things. I
mistakes
23:35probably made a lot of mistakes while on this video. Please tell me any mistakes I made in the comment section. Eventually, I'm going to add a top comment that I'm going to pin with all of the mistakes and right comments. Cuz inevitably, I definitely made one mistake here. Hopefully, it isn't a big mistake, so it won't affect my teaching
23:48that much. Now, let's talk about my
texture pack
23:49texture pack. A lot of you guys asked for my texture pack last time. I actually use the Bare Bones texture pack combined with The Old Bolts PvP overlay that I actually edited to be more customized. So, if you look at my elytra, it has a green outline on it. If you look at my totems, they look like
24:02me. You look at my golden apples, they look like me. My golden carrots, they look like me. And my cobwebs, they turn from blue to green. I've linked both of
mods
24:10those in the description. And now, let's talk about the mods. If you waited this far just for me to talk about the mods, I'm so sorry. But, here it is. First, of course, we have Apple Skin. Apple Skin shows your saturation as a yellow outline around your hunger icon. And it also shows you how much saturation and
24:23how many hearts your golden apples will heal you. Better Ping Display will show you your actual ping number when you press tab. Now, of course, a lot of servers will actually show you this normally, and so will Lunar Client. But, this is great on regular servers that don't have that feature. Clear Views is extremely important. This mod actually
24:36allows you to turn off different kinds of particle effects, like lowering your fire and all that kind of stuff. Totem Tweaks is a mod that allows you to make your totem pop smaller because the original totem pop animation is so much bigger. The Sodium mod is pretty much required. I think everyone should download it. And then, the Sodium
24:50Extras mod allows you to turn off specific particles that you don't want showing up. Like, I have all the particles turned off because I lag too bad. Combat hitboxes is a mod that allows you to see when you're able to hit them. You can also turn off the annoying lines of the hitboxes. [music] You can turn on hitboxes with F3 plus B.
25:05Durability tooltip allows you to be able to see your durability always. Dynamic crosshair changes depending on what your action is, and this is just really helpful in certain situations. You should have a full bright mod installed. This is the one that I use, just in case you go into a hole and things get dark. Hero Bot is a mod that's required for
25:20the map that I'm going to talk about after this. So, if you plan on using the map, you should download it anyway. Some of you guys asked for how my hotbar works. I use the immersive hotbar mod. It just makes things look really cool, and I use a custom texture pack for my selected icon anyway. This is a really
25:32important mod. It's Marlowe's crystal optimizer. This one was obviously made by Marlowe, and allows your crystals to be client-side, not server-side, which means you're actually able to crystal a lot faster. Basically, instead of the crystal explosion having to send a packet to the server and then back to your client, it'll just happen automatically. Shield fixes is a great
25:50mod. I have a really big problem with my shields just not showing as holding up when they're actually being held up. This is great for mace PvP. This is great for crystal PvP. I think it's just really nice to have in general. If you want to talk with people online, you can have the simple voice chat mod. Most
26:03servers have that already added, so if you install on your client, it'll work with everything. This is one of my favorite mods, Sound [music] Physics Remastered. When I'm deep underground in a cave, I can hear all of the sounds accurately. It's just super immersive. Status effect bars will allow you to see how long your status effect is lasting.
26:18This is just really nice for certain status effects in all kinds of game modes. Yuku's armor HUD is a necessity. This mod allows you to see your armor durability in the bottom right or bottom left or anywhere on your screen, to be honest. And it allows you to be able to see your armor durability faster, so you
26:31can repair it easier. Game Speed, or G4M Speed, is a mod that allows you to lower the tick rate, while also lowering the sound pitch for your game. It's just really nice for practice and recording and whatnot. Just don't use it to fake your compilations. Now, let's talk about the map. The map that I use is by
26:46Theobald the Bird, just like the texture pack that I use. And basically, it has everything you could ever need. I've linked the video and the link to the downloads in the description. Please go and watch that and download it if you want to practice. Just make sure the crystal PvP lever is turned on. There's all kinds of difficulties for you to
27:00practice and it's just really nice all together. All right, and that's about
outro
27:03it. If you really learned anything, just please let me know in the comment section down below. I'm still a small YouTuber, so it'd be nice if you could subscribe. It took me so long to edit this and I put a lot of effort into these, so you guys really liked the last one, so I decided I was going to do this
27:16on crystal PvP, too. Turns out crystal PvP is a lot more complicated than mace. Please go watch my old video, the mace PvP video. It did really well and people really liked it. And that's all. I don't know when I'm going to upload again. I might upload small little fun videos that are just slightly mildly entertaining. But I'm a
27:33student and I got more things important to focus on besides YouTube. I mean, unless I can make this my career. But anyways, thanks for watching and peace. We out.
