0:00A 14-year-old boy named James loses both
0:02his parents in a car accident, so he's
0:04sent to live with his grandfather
0:05Geppetto. James quickly makes two
0:07friends in the neighborhood, but one
0:09ends up dying of cancer and the other
0:10one moves to another town. That day
0:12Geppetto makes a bow. James would never
0:14lose anyone else again. He starts
0:16spending lots of time in the basement,
0:17where James isn't allowed to go. After
0:19weeks of spending countless hours down
0:21there, Geppetto finishes a creation that
0:23will never abandon James. One day after
0:25coming home from school, [music] James
0:27spends the whole afternoon looking at a
0:28picture of his old friends and thinking
0:30about all the fun they used to have
0:31together. In the evening, [music]
0:32Geppetto notices that James is still in
0:34his room, so he convinces him to go out
0:36with him for some fresh air. While they
0:38sit on a bench to admire the view, James
0:40wonders what happens to people after
0:41death and Geppetto says there's more to
0:43Earth than it meets the eye. Suddenly,
0:44Geppetto starts coughing and James
0:46worries, but Geppetto assures [music]
0:47him he's fine and promises to show him
0:49something very special tomorrow. In the
0:51middle of the night, James is awakened
0:53by a strange noise. When he looks up, he
0:55sees someone behind his door who soon
0:57runs away. James leaves the room to
0:59investigate and sees a figure behind a
1:00wall. He tries to turn on the light, but
1:02it doesn't work. So, he turns on a
1:04flashlight instead.
1:05>> [music]
1:05>> This causes the strange creature to run
1:07again. James chases after the figure and
1:09sees them disappear into the basement.
1:11Then Geppetto also goes downstairs, so
1:13James decides to take a peek. His
1:15grandfather is talking to someone and
1:16James tries to come closer, which
1:18reveals his presence. Geppetto tells him
1:20to join him because there's someone he
1:22must meet. A closer look reveals a very
1:24creepy hole in the wall surrounded by
1:25vines. Geppetto asks the creature to
1:27come out and James watches in shock as
1:29Pinocchio emerges. After Geppetto says
1:31they should be friends, Pinocchio runs
1:33toward James, who is terrified and yells
1:35to stop it. Pinocchio freezes and James
1:37runs upstairs. Geppetto follows him and
1:39tries to calm him down, but James keeps
1:41freaking out and calling Pinocchio a
1:43creepy thing. His grandfather points out
1:45it's a living being and not a thing and
1:46apologizes for scaring him. He explains
1:49he just wants James to have a friend as
1:50he takes him back to the basement door.
1:52James looks through the keyhole and is
1:53startled by Pinocchio's face. After
1:56Geppetto explains that Pinocchio never
1:57left the basement before, the door opens
1:59and the doll finally steps out.

2:01>> James and Pinocchio introduce themselves
2:03and Pinocchio asks if they're friends,
2:04but James says they'll see. Geppetto
2:06asks James to keep Pinocchio a secret.
2:08During the weekend, James and Pinocchio
2:10play a lot together and become very good
2:12friends. While James is making a video
2:14with his phone, he receives a call from
2:16his friends Dudley who accidentally sees
2:17Pinocchio. James pretends it's just a
2:20puppet his grandfather made as he
2:21quickly moves the camera away. One
2:23afternoon, James teaches Pinocchio about
2:25human biology and Pinocchio says he
2:26wishes to be human, too. But James
2:28thinks he's cooler like this. When
2:30Pinocchio asks about the man's member,
2:32James doesn't know how to answer. While
2:33watching a documentary, Pinocchio learns
2:35that animals protect their herds from
2:37predators. He tells a sleeping James
2:39that he's his herd and pokes different
2:40parts of his face. Geppetto interrupts
2:42him to take him back to the basement and
2:44Pinocchio insists he wants to stay with
2:45the boy, but Geppetto explains [music]
2:47there's school tomorrow. Pinocchio also
2:49wonders why he doesn't have a member and
2:50Geppetto refuses to answer. The next
2:52morning, Pinocchio watches James leave
2:54for school [music] with Dudley. Trying
2:56to get a better look causes him to slip
2:57and fall. As he stands up, he sees
2:59something strange at the back of the
3:01basement. He comes closer with a
3:02lantern, noticing all the plants on the
3:04walls before discovering another puppet.
3:06Pinocchio is startled when the puppet
3:08suddenly wakes up and laughs at him. She
3:09introduces herself as the wooden mother
3:11and claims she knows what Geppetto is
3:13hiding. The wooden mother says they're
3:14both trapped here, but Pinocchio denies
3:16it, calling himself a real boy. This lie
3:18causes his nose to grow. Then the wooden
3:20mother tells Pinocchio what he needs to
3:22become a real boy, skin, blood, teeth,
3:25and hair. He has to take them and wear
3:27them. All this is overheard by the
3:28cricket hiding in the shadows. Pinocchio
3:30thinks that the mother's idea is
3:32disgusting, so she mocks him and dares
3:34him to prove he's a real boy. Then
3:35Pinocchio breaks the window and finally
3:37steps outside. He's amazed by nature and
3:39his reflection on the water. When James
3:41comes home, he finds Pinocchio looking
3:43at the picture of his old friends. James
3:45explains what best friends are and
3:47creates a super secret handshake with
3:48Pinocchio to officially make him as new
3:50best friend.

3:51>> Next, Pinocchio draws himself in the
3:52picture and James feels bad, so he
3:54agrees to take him to school if
3:55Pinocchio pretends to be a normal
3:57[music] puppet. The next morning, James
3:59sneaks into the basement and finds
4:00Pinocchio tied up and covered by a bed
4:02sheet. He immediately frees him and
4:04hides him in his bag. On his way out, he
4:06notices another puppet abandoned by the
4:07wall. After James leaves, Geppetto
4:09checks the basement and still sees
4:11Pinocchio under the sheet, but it's
4:12actually the extra puppet that James
4:14[music] used to replace him. On the way
4:15to school, James lets Pinocchio look out
4:17the window. Trey gives them the finger
4:19when he sees them pass and Pinocchio
4:21raises his finger back while James
4:22explains that Trey often harasses him.
4:24At school, a little girl sees Pinocchio
4:26peek out of James' bag and freezes in
4:28shock. When it's time for gym class,
4:30James makes Pinocchio stay in his bag in
4:32the locker room. However, Pinocchio
4:34waits until the way is clear and sneaks
4:35out anyway. He enters the gym and stares
4:38at the adults exercising. A woman soon
4:40notices him and the horror causes her to
4:41fall on the treadmill. She breaks many
4:43bones before the treadmill throws her at
4:45the weights, which fall on the floor and
4:46make a guy trip. He's already been
4:48holding some weights that now cause his
4:50body to break in half. The other weights
4:52continue to fall one by one on the
4:53woman's face until she's dead. Pinocchio
4:55asks her not to tell anyone about him
4:57and does the special handshake with her
4:58twisted hand before leaving. Later,
5:00James shows Pinocchio the workshop where
5:02he and Dudley keep his handmade toys. At
5:04that moment, Trey, Logan, and their
5:06girlfriends find James and mock him for
5:08having a big doll. Then, Trey takes the
5:10money from James' bag and he tries to
5:11stop him, but he's grabbed by Logan. The
5:13girls record everything while Trey
5:15points out that James' grandfather is
5:16rich, so James says this is why Mia
5:18dumped him. An offended Trey calls James
5:20a bigger loser than his dead friend,
5:22[music] so James spits on his face.
5:24Furious, Trey destroys all the toys on
5:26the table and throws Pinocchio on the
5:27floor. He threatens to kill James if he
5:29ever tells an adult. At that moment, Mia
5:31arrives and kicks all the older kids
5:33out. Then, she comforts James, who
5:35wishes all those teens were dead and
5:37Pinocchio hears him. After class, James
5:39shows Pinocchio to Dudley and Mia. Once
5:41they've promised [music] they'll keep
5:42the secret, James makes Pinocchio move
5:44and claims he's a robot. Before his
5:46friends can ask more questions, James
5:48leaves for Dennis' appointment. At the
5:50office, Pinocchio watches in horror all
5:52the things the Dennis does to James'
5:53mouth and hears him complain about the
5:54pain. The dentist finishes the job by
5:56removing a tooth. On the trip home,
5:59Geppetto's driver hears James talk to
6:00Pinocchio and looks at the backseat.

6:02>> This distraction causes the car to crash
6:04into another vehicle and it ends up
6:05overturned. Moments later, James is
6:07unconscious in the hospital. Pinocchio
6:09is still in the bag and overhears the
6:11doctor say that the crash was caused by
6:12the same drunk driver who was behind
6:14other accidents. After the doctors leave
6:16to check on that man, Pinocchio reminds
6:18himself that he must protect his best
6:19friend, so he leaves the room. In the
6:21corridor, [music] he sees James' doctor
6:23and follows him by jumping on a
6:24stretcher. Then he enters a room and
6:26finds the drunk driver on a bed with a
6:27broken leg. The guy is awakened by a
6:29noise and notices Pinocchio pushing a
6:31tray behind the curtains. Suddenly,
6:33Pinocchio gets on the bed and calls the
6:35man a bad person for what he did to
6:36James, so he starts ripping the skin off
6:38his face, splattering blood all over the
6:40place. Next, he uses a scalpel to cut
6:42the guy's chest open and pulls out the
6:43organs one by one, saying [music] he
6:45needs them to become a real boy. He even
6:47opens his own stomach to put them all
6:49away. After the driver finally dies,
6:51Pinocchio washes up and leaves the room.
6:53A man in the corridor is shocked to see
6:55him, so Pinocchio runs as fast as
6:56possible. When he reaches James' room,
6:58he discovers that Geppetto has arrived,
7:00so James coughs to distract his
7:02grandfather and Pinocchio runs to hide
7:03back in the bag. Then the doctor tells
7:05James he can go home. On their way out,
7:07they see the driver's wife having a
7:09breakdown. Sometime later, Mia and
7:11Dudley visit James. When Dudley tries to
7:13grab Pinocchio, he notices some liquid
7:15leaking out of him. Pinocchio tells him
7:17it's the blood of his organs that are
7:18making him real, so Dudley looks inside
7:20the puppet and is disgusted by what he
7:21sees. Then the kids take [music]
7:23Pinocchio to the basement so Geppetto
7:25won't know he left. While the boys tie
7:26him up, Mia looks at all the creepy
7:28drawings and articles on the walls.
7:30Pinocchio doesn't want to be abandoned,
7:31so he fights back and grabs Dudley by
7:33the face. James immediately stops him
7:35and promises to come back later. Behind
7:37a curtain,
7:38>> [music]
7:38>> Mia finds some mysterious tape, so she
7:40brings them out of the basement. James
7:42knows his grandfather has an old
7:43projector they can use. Geppetto sees
7:45the kids near the basement door and
7:46starts [music] getting suspicious.
7:48Downstairs, Pinocchio pulls at the ropes
7:50until he manages to free himself. Then
7:52he visits the wood mother and tells her
7:53he's killed someone to protect James. As
7:56the cricket comes out to perch on
7:57Pinocchio's shoulder, the wood mother
7:58congratulates him for killing and tells
8:00him to murder every bad person to keep
8:02James [music] safe. On his way out,
8:03Pinocchio hears James' phone ringing in
8:05the bag and takes it. Moments later,
8:07Geppetto leaves in his car to get some
8:08food unaware that Pinocchio is hanging
8:10on the rear bumper. He doesn't let go
8:12until they pass by the dentist's office.
8:14He wanders around the building when
8:15suddenly he feels the cricket coming out
8:17of his ear.
8:17>> [music]
8:18>> The cricket explains that the wood
8:19mother sent him to keep Pinocchio on the
8:20right path and they agree to continue
8:22killing. Pinocchio sneaks into the
8:24dentist's office and the cricket points
8:25at a tray with teeth saying that the
8:27dentist collects them. Then Pinocchio
8:28jumps on the poor woman and puts the
8:30sedative mask around her face. The
8:32dentist begins to struggle so the
8:33cricket throws some teeth on the floor
8:35to make her trip. When the woman wakes
8:36up, she's tied to the chair and a device
8:38keeps her mouth open. Pinocchio stabs
8:40her eye with a needle and uses a tool to
8:42start breaking all her teeth. Then he
8:44puts them in his own mouth to have a
8:45human but bloody smile. Meanwhile, the
8:47kids play the tapes. Geppetto appears on
8:49the recording saying he's confirmed that
8:51the soul survives after dying and can be
8:53harnessed to cheat death. The first
8:54puppet prototype creepy groans on the
8:56screen startling the kids. Another video
8:58shows a new puppet learning to walk
9:00after Geppetto kept it up with strings.
9:02>> [music]
9:02>> In the next clip, the doll can be heard
9:03begging for freedom. Geppetto says his
9:05subject was born evil and wants to
9:07escape because it wants to become human
9:09so he has to get rid of it. He then
9:10proceeds to shoot the puppet. After
9:12assuring his friends that he didn't know
9:13about this, James puts on a tape from a
9:15few days ago. Geppetto explains that
9:18none of the souls he's inserted in the
9:19puppets have recovered memories of their
9:20previous life. He hopes that by exposing
9:23Pinocchio to James those memories will
9:24finally return. Panicking, the kids run
9:27to the basement and discover that
9:28Pinocchio is gone. James realizes his
9:30phone is missing from his bag and
9:31[music] asks Dudley to call it.
9:33Pinocchio immediately picks up and
9:34proudly He them the dentist's body
9:36saying [music] he's going after bad
9:37people. The kids try to ask him to stop,
9:39but Pinocchio mishears them and thinks
9:41they're saying kill more. By the time
9:43Geppetto comes back with pizza, the kids
9:45are already gone and he finally notices
9:46[music] that Pinocchio has disappeared,
9:48too. In the meantime, Pinocchio arrives
9:50at Logan's house. The teenagers are
9:52hanging out in the swimming pool, but
9:53Amanda gets uncomfortable when Trey
9:55tries to get naughty in front of the
9:56others and leaves. Trey follows her out,
9:59which is seen by Pinocchio. In the pool,
10:01Georgia complains that the water is
10:02cold, but Logan ignores her and turns
10:04the music up in his headphones. When
10:06Georgia is about to leave the pool,
10:07Pinocchio hits her face with a hammer
10:09and steps on her arm to break it.
10:11Georgia's destroyed mouth can only grunt
10:12and Logan can't hear her. Next,
10:14Pinocchio gets in the pool, leaving his
10:16nose out like a shark's fin. He drags
10:18Georgia underwater and struggles to keep
10:20her there while the cricket drops a
10:21cable in the pool. The resulting
10:23electric shock instantly kills the poor
10:24girl. Logan is still listening to music,
10:27but when he finally opens his eyes, he
10:28screams because he sees Pinocchio. The
10:30puppet reaches into his mouth to start
10:32pulling the tongue. However, the cricket
10:33reminds him it's the eyes he needs.
10:35Pinocchio pulls again and this time he
10:37rips Logan's eyes out. Meanwhile, the
10:39kids arrive at the dentist office and
10:40Dudley throws up at the sight of the
10:42woman's body.
10:43>> [music]
10:43>> Mia wonders who will be the next victim
10:44and James realizes Pinocchio is going
10:46after everyone who hurt him. In Logan's
10:48[music] house, Pinocchio enters the
10:50bathroom and finds Amanda showering. He
10:52stares at her naked body and thinks she
10:53cut off her member, not woman's [music]
10:55differences. When Amanda starts dressing
10:57up, the cricket attacks her by pulling
10:58her hair. Amanda panics and accidentally
11:01kicks Pinocchio down. As she tries to
11:03leave the bathroom, she steps on his
11:04face and impales her foot on the pointy
11:06nose. This causes her to fall and hit
11:08her head on the sink. After kicking
11:10Pinocchio off, she runs out of the
11:11bathroom screaming, but Pinocchio jumps
11:13on her as she runs down the corridor.
11:15Trey hears the screaming, but doesn't
11:16understand what he's seeing. Standing on
11:18her big chest, Pinocchio grabs Amanda's
11:20hair and jumps over the railing to tear
11:22off her scalp. He keeps saying that it
11:24belongs to him, so his nose grows a lot.
11:26Eventually, Pinocchio falls on the floor
11:28and the scalp lands on his head. Trey
11:30recognizes him as James Doll and tries
11:32to run, but Pinocchio breaks his nose
11:33off and throws it to impale Trey's hand
11:35on the wall. Then he starts saying
11:37random lies to make his nose grow and
11:38breaks it again to stab Trey's other
11:40hand. He keeps lying as he inserts his
11:42new nose into Trey's nose, making it
11:44grow until it stabs his brain.
11:46>> [music]
11:46>> In Mia's car, Dudley gets a call from
11:48Geppetto, so he lets James answer. James
11:50tells his grandfather that they're
11:51hanging out at Mia's, but Geppetto hears
11:53Dudley and Mia arguing in the back and
11:54gets suspicious, so James quickly hangs
11:56up. Meanwhile, Pinocchio has put on all
11:58his victims' organs and flesh and looks
12:00at himself in the mirror, believing he's
12:02finally a real boy. After playing some
12:04music to celebrate, he puts on a bow and
12:06some makeup. Then he has dinner at the
12:07table surrounded by the bodies.
12:09Suddenly, Geppetto enters the house and
12:11finds Pinocchio controlling Amanda's
12:12body like a puppet. He uses her
12:14intestines as strings and has given her
12:15Trey's member. Geppetto [music]
12:17immediately captures him and takes him
12:18away in his car, so the kids see him on
12:20the street when they arrive. James
12:22immediately tells Mia to follow him. In
12:24the house, Geppetto throws Pinocchio
12:26into the basement after removing all the
12:27gore and locks the door. Pinocchio
12:29accuses the Wood Mother of lying to him,
12:31>> [music]
12:31>> but she says he didn't do things
12:32correctly and she should be in his
12:33place. A furious Pinocchio grabs a
12:35hammer and quickly smashes the Cricket.
12:37Then he hits the Wood Mother several
12:38times until the whole puppet is
12:40destroyed. Afterward, Geppetto returns
12:42and takes Pinocchio to a hidden room
12:43with a huge tree and dozens of bodies
12:45attached to it. Geppetto explains that
12:47this tree absorbed these bodies'
12:48lifeblood, which penetrated its wood.
12:50Then Geppetto used that wood to create
12:52the puppets. All the bodies were dug out
12:54of the cemetery by him and chopped to be
12:56inserted into the tree. At the back of
12:57the room, there's a shackled puppet and
12:59another one in a cage, all failed
13:01projects. Geppetto used to think
13:03Pinocchio was his first success, but he
13:05now decides he's a failure, too. At that
13:07moment, the kids arrive and overhear
13:08that Pinocchio has the soul of James'
13:10dead best [music] friend. Geppetto gets
13:12ready to shoot a tied-up Pinocchio, but
13:13at that moment, he hears Dudley calling
13:15the police and follows him out. James
13:17and Mia approach Pinocchio to help him,
13:19but they're interrupted by Dudley
13:20screaming for help. Suddenly, a gunshot
13:22hits Dudley's eye and the boy insults
13:23Geppetto before another shot blows up
13:25his head. Mia and James untie Pinocchio
13:27before running to the tree room to hide.
13:29As Mia locks the door, James realizes
13:32this is the tree that he's seen on the
13:33roof. Then Geppetto starts destroying
13:35the door with an axe. So, Mia rushes to
13:37hide under a table and Pinocchio among
13:38the tree bodies.
13:40>> [music]
13:40>> James cries as he calls his grandfather
13:41out for killing Dudley, but Geppetto
13:43assures him he can bring him back. Since
13:45James still calls him a monster,
13:47Geppetto freaks out and inserts his arm
13:48through the hole to try to open the
13:49door. James rushes to stop him, but
13:51Geppetto is stronger and pushes the door
13:53open, knocking the boy out. Then
13:55Geppetto looks for Mia under the table,
13:57but it's empty. She's actually behind
13:59the curtains and comes out to attack him
14:00with a hammer, but Geppetto easily
14:02blocks her and throws water to distract
14:03her. When he tries to hit her with the
14:05axe, she dodges and a tree body loses
14:07its head instead. When James wakes up,
14:09he sees Geppetto grab Mia and start to
14:11beat her up. He brings her down and
14:13drags her on the floor by the hair
14:14before he gets ready to kill her.
14:16However, James stabs his shoulder with
14:17the axe. While the kids step away,
14:19Pinocchio finds a gun and announces he
14:21doesn't want to be James anymore. He
14:23wants to [music] be himself. Geppetto
14:24yells that he's nothing without him, so
14:26Pinocchio opens fire. The shot misses
14:28Geppetto and opens the cage instead. So,
14:30the failed puppet stabs Geppetto with
14:32its nose. Then it drags him into the
14:33cage to tear his body apart. The cage's
14:36electronic lock sparks and starts a
14:37fire. So, the crazy puppet begins to
14:39slowly burn down. Minutes later,
14:41Pinocchio and the kids are outside
14:43watching the house burn. Pinocchio asks
14:45James if they're still friends and James
14:46says they are. Next, he asks if he's
14:48bad. So, Mia explains he was tricked and
14:50he can change. Hearing sirens
14:52approaching, the kids walk away to meet
14:54the authorities. Pinocchio says goodbye
14:56to the house and claims he didn't enjoy
14:57killing people, but his nose grows. In
15:00the basement, the wood mother burns
15:01down, too. However, the cricket
15:02survives. He connects Geppetto's body to
15:05the tree, calling him his master.
