0:00Crystal PvP is the hardest form of PvP
0:02in Minecraft, and it's the most common
0:04form that you see on Donut SMP.
0:05Everyone's using crystal PvP to fight
0:07each other. And today, we're going to go
0:08over every single like mechanic of
0:11crystal PvP in just 8 minutes. So,
0:14mechanic number one,
0:15>> pearl flashing.
0:16>> Pearl flashing. Pearl flashing is the
0:17use of an ender pearl being thrown
0:19downwards in order to inflict damage on
0:20yourself via putting yourself in damage
0:22state, where you are immune to damage.
0:24>> D-tap.
0:24>> D-tap or double pop is where you hit
0:26your opponent, then place and break two
0:28crystals to pop your opponent twice.
0:29>> Crystals only blow up blocks above the
0:31obsidian unless the obsidian [music] is
0:32broken.
0:33>> Anchor.
0:33>> Respawn anchors function as an
0:35>> Wait, is that a method? Breaking the
0:37obsidian so you get low ground? Look at
0:39this.
0:40>> crystal without the obsidian.
0:41>> He blows it up and gets low ground.
0:43Wait, no, that low-key might be useful.
0:45>> where it blows up in a 360° radius
0:47rather than
0:48>> When anchoring?
0:49>> It is also three times more compact,
0:50which makes it so much easier to spam
0:52multiple times. But, they can only be
0:54used in the overworld or the end.
0:55Totemee. Totemee is the one and only
0:57reason why crystal PvP matches don't end
0:59instantly. Unlike every other mechanic,
1:01totemee is the one and only thing that
1:02you can practice all by yourself.
1:03>> Imagine there was no totems. Would
1:04crystal PvP even exist?
1:06>> And the positioning of the totem would
1:07never change.
1:08>> Ledge dashing.
1:09>> Ledge dashing is where your opponent
1:11comes close to you, and you proceed to
1:12anchor and pearl into the ledge to gain
1:13the upper hand in the fight.
1:14>> Safe anchoring.
1:15>> Safe anchoring is one of the
1:16>> Safe anchoring is the most overpowered
1:18mechanic. On everything I love, you
1:20could kill anyone without popping a
1:21single time with this mechanic.
1:23>> If not the most underrated mechanics in
1:25crystal PvP.
1:26>> And it's even better if you learn how to
1:28use and switch from using a glass stone
1:30to safe anchor in a in a like a piece of
1:32obsidian to safe anchor. If you use
1:34obsidian, you're able to crystal them on
1:36top of anchoring them. It's insane.
1:38>> Simply because of the damage output. You
1:40can pop somebody in full netherite
1:41multiple times while being fully naked
1:43and take zero damage.
1:44>> Hit crystal. Hit crystal is the action
1:46of hitting somebody up and placing an
1:47obsidian and crystal to launch them
1:49[music] upwards.
1:50>> This could happen on a whole or flat.
1:51>> Isn't that the same thing as a D-tap?
1:53Hit crystal and a D- Isn't Okay, The
1:55crystal's is one single crystal, right?
1:57>> Slow or fast. The double D tap.
2:01Air placing. Air placing is the action
2:02of blowing up an anchor while it's being
2:04blown up, replacing it with another.
2:06>> Okay, is air placing actually useful
2:08though?
2:08>> Anchor. This is done almost always by
2:10double click, followed up by blowing up
2:12the second anchor as well. Floating.
2:14Now, personally speaking, floating is
2:15one of my specialties. Now, for proof of
2:17that, just look at this.
2:19>> You can't float anymore because there's
2:20double blast prot. This only works on
2:21prot, like one one piece of blast prot
2:23because now you take no knockback from
2:24crystals.
2:26But before you could do this, it was
2:28insane if you could do this.
2:31>> But in all seriousness, for you to be
2:33able to float somebody consistently, you
2:34have to crystal under them and follow it
2:36up by multiple hit crystals.
2:38But what you can also do is that if you
2:40know they are directly above you, you
2:41can spam crystal them.
2:42>> Cuz like this looks insane. You can't do
2:44this at all anymore.
2:45>> spot to keep them in there.
2:46>> Of course you you know you're a nerd.
2:47I've been playing crystal for 4 years,
2:49bro. Of course I know what this is.
2:51>> The long ditch.
2:54Triple tap. Triple tap is
2:55>> What is a triple tap?
2:58>> of the first pop to happen at the end of
2:59the first damage tick. So the next
3:01damage tick is scooped up with the next
3:02D tap.
3:03>> Oh my god. Hit them up. Hit them again
3:05with your sword in the air so they take
3:06a damage tick and then double crystal so
3:07they double pop. Can I try this right
3:09now? Does that work? Someone said it
3:10doesn't work anymore. Does that work?
3:12That's insane. Oh, because you have to
3:14be in the air still.
3:16Oh my gosh, that's You're right. You're
3:18right. This would not work anymore, bro,
3:20unless there's single blast prot.
3:23And no one is anymore.
3:24>> Flower anchoring. Popularized by
3:26>> Bro, like half of these mechanics don't
3:27work because of double blast prot, bro.
3:29It ruined crystal PvP.
3:30>> keeps in 2024. Flower anchoring is the
3:32action of placing an anchor on top of
3:34obsidian after placing a crystal on it.
3:36Now, was this effective? no. It
3:38didn't pop
3:39>> Not true. Flower anchoring is really
3:41overpowered if you know how to use it.
3:43>> them anymore nor did it
3:44>> Look what happens. Soon as he places the
3:45anchor, they're back on another another
3:47ledge.
3:48>> They stay on the ledge. If you crystal,
3:51anchor I'll demonstrate, I guess. If you
3:54if you crystal
3:55and anchor on top of the obsidian,
3:57you're on a ledge again. You could
3:58crystal right here, anchor again.
4:00Oh, that was bad. Let's go to stone.
4:03All right, say for example, they're on a
4:04ledge already. Boom, you crystal crystal
4:06crystal, you anchor. They're still on
4:07the ledge. You do this and you just do
4:09this. You keep going.
4:10Boom. Oh, that's wrong. I guess that's
4:12what he's trying to say.
4:13You anchor here.
4:15Crystal. You anchor here. You crystal.
4:17You anchor here. You crystal. And you
4:19can just keep doing that. And you keep
4:20going down and they're always on a
4:21ledge. So, no, flower anchoring is
4:23actually really useful.
4:25>> All right, [clears throat] lock in.
4:26Crystal on. Now, was this effective?
4:28>> Yes, it is.
4:29>> them anymore, nor did it do anything
4:31special.
4:33>> By Donut's live.
4:35Okay.
4:35>> It was just about one of the coolest
4:36things that you can do. Trifecta. You
4:39might think to yourself that you never
4:40heard of this term before. Well, that's
4:41because I made it up. Basically, what it
4:43is is where you knock your opponent up,
4:45air place with an obsidian, and D-tap
4:46them all in the air at the same exact
4:48time.
4:49>> To my knowledge,
4:50>> there isn't another name for this. This
4:51is because it's only ever been done so
4:52few times, including its twin macro.
4:55>> Single tick [music] D-tap. As the name
4:56applies, single tick D-tap makes it so
4:58you can D-tap somebody in a single
4:59damage tick, [music] which is a form of
5:00sword popping or using a mace to breeze
5:02swap. Tick abusing.
5:03>> You're already lucky with that.
5:04>> point in the video, our explanations
5:05take a whole lot longer to explain. You
5:07might think tick abusing
5:08>> Oh, he's going to talk about tick
5:09abusing.
5:09>> itself is simple, like timing your hit
5:11crystals or anchors to pop them more. Or
5:12maybe if you're very knowledgeable in
5:13the community, you would know about
5:15opposite side safe anchors to double pop
5:17or even far side crystal D-tap.
5:18>> Opposite side safe anchoring to double
5:21pop. What?
5:23>> All of these are valid examples of tick
5:25>> That works? If you anchor on the left
5:27and then anchor on the right, they'll
5:28pop twice? What?
5:29>> Since you're abusing a tick in your
5:31favor to be able to have the upper edge
5:33on your opponent. Now, what people might
5:34not know is how damage ticks even work
5:36or why you actually need to hit your
5:38opponent before you D-tap in order for
5:39it to double pop them. In simple terms,
5:41Minecraft runs on these function called
5:42ticks. There are 20 ticks in a second.
5:44[music] That makes each tick around 0.5
5:46of a second.
5:47>> that if you punch someone, it resets the
5:49tick the tick counter, right?
5:50>> But, there's also another function
5:52called damage ticks, which are half a
5:53second. And that's why if you anchor
5:55multiple times in one damage tick, it
5:57negates all damage and you survive way
5:58longer than you were supposed to.
6:00>> Yeah, cuz you're not popping that fast.
6:02>> Well, how does this correlate to you
6:03having to punch your opponent before you
6:04detap air place with double anchor in
6:07order to pop them twice? This is because
6:09damage tick technically does make you
6:10immune to all damage, except for any
6:12damage that is higher than the original
6:14damage that puts you in damage tick.
6:15What I mean by this is that if I were to
6:17hit you with a netherite sword for four
6:18damage, and then if I were to punch you,
6:20you would take no damage because a sword
6:22does more damage than my fist.
6:24>> Oh, but you'll still take damage from a
6:25crystal or an anchor because it's worth
6:28more damage points
6:29than the sword.
6:30>> But, if I were to hit crystal you
6:31instead, and because crystals do way
6:33more damage than the sword, you would
6:34double pop and die.
6:35>> Oh.
6:38You might think the only way to place
6:39blocks in mine Donut streaming redo the
6:41trap I I
6:43Yeah, I'm not going to trap Donut, bro.
6:45It's not It's not going to happen.
6:46>> is to independently click your mouse the
6:48amount of times to the amount of blocks
6:49you want to place. For instance, if I
6:51wanted to build the subscribe sign, I
6:52would have to go to my mouse and click
6:54the amount of times for blocks there are
6:56in the sign, which in this scenario,
6:57count them,
6:5933 obsidian. Now, you might think I have
7:01to click 33 times in order to place all
7:02of them, which I do. But, if you've ever
7:05played 1.8 before or you're somewhat
7:07deep into the Minecraft community,
7:08>> about?
7:08>> you would know that you can click
7:09multiple times in a single click. Now,
7:12for you to be able to use multiple
7:13clicks in a single input, you would have
7:15to know this mechanic called click
7:16storing. Click storing is a name for
7:17Minecraft's input counters. When a
7:19discrete key or a mouse press is
7:20registered, Minecraft increases a
7:22counter for that key. The counter is
7:24later consumed during the client's input
7:25process pass. Minecraft uses these
7:27counters
7:28>> this guy knows way too much.
7:29>> for actions such as attack, use or
7:32place,
7:33take block, hot bar keys, inventory,
7:35[music] swap off hand, drop,
7:38chat and commands, achievements, social
7:40interactions, perspective is
7:42>> So, you're saying everything you do on
7:43Minecraft it goes into like a a storage
7:46system that then uses that stored input
7:50after a certain amount of time.
7:51>> Move camera toggles. No, each mapping
7:53has its own counter, but Minecraft does
7:55not process every counter the same way.
7:56For PvP, attack and use are the most
7:58important. For most people, that is
8:00their left and right click. But, the
8:01process Minecraft uses them means that
8:03Minecraft consumes several queue ticks
8:04in one input pass.
8:06Now, being this far into the video, I do
8:08have to mention I did not discover all
8:10of these mechanics myself. Nor do I
8:12fully understand all of them. But, I do
8:13have to give props to my research team
8:16that mainly consists of
8:16>> He has a research team, bro.
8:19>> Mystic. I asked it. Bro, what is this
8:21guy's name? Well, whatever his name is.
8:22With the Google spreadsheet
8:26for this mechanic alone. But, with that
8:28being said, I do have to show you what
8:29he sent.
8:30>> When two ticks [music] register press
8:32land opposite side of a client input
8:34click click storing queue
8:36>> What does this mean?
8:37>> Right click one customer joins to use
8:39queue
8:39>> one join as in customer as in like the
8:42action you're doing. A customer or say
8:44So, the action that you do before
8:46the first action you do arise before the
8:48shop checks the the queue.
8:49>> What is he talking about?
8:51>> arrived before the after missing product
8:54analogy last hurt Minecraft world
8:57>> No, this is this is genuinely nerd
8:58stuff, bro.
9:01last hurt
9:01>> Can he demonstrate what this means?
9:03>> anyway
9:04>> No, genuinely, what? This dude is too
9:07nerdy, bro.
9:07>> the video.
9:08>> Now, click storing works because
9:10Minecraft runs on 20 ticks a second. And
9:12in each tick, you can only have one of
9:13each action listed. If you were to
9:15double click right click with a block
9:16and both clicks register in the same
9:18tick, Minecraft will place down one
9:19block and save the next block for the
9:21next tick. AKA storing the next click.
9:24This is why you can double and triple
9:26place blocks with a single click. Triple
9:28click click storing a little more weird
9:29because instead of clicking three times
9:31on one tick and allowing Minecraft to
9:32spread them across three ticks for you,
9:34you have to double click, then single
9:35click allowing click storing to happen
9:37during the first tick. Then, during the
9:39second tick, the single [music] click
9:40registers. It will be stored onto the
9:42third tick. Now, you may ask, "How are
9:44you going to apply this to Minecraft?"
9:45Basically, you can forcefully allow
9:47Minecraft to create two actions
9:48back-to-back to each other at the
9:50fastest limit Minecraft has to offer.
9:52This gives us some of the fastest
9:53mechanics that we
9:54>> Imagine they removed the limitations of
9:57storing your inputs and it just
10:00instantly get everything you do. People
10:01would be way faster than what how fast
10:03they are now. That means that there's a
10:04limit on how fast you could be. You're
10:06breathing too much. What?
10:08>> can abuse, and I'm going to teach you
10:09how. Now, I'm not too good at this, but
10:12I have like a basic understanding of it.
10:14Basically, I have a double clicking
10:16mouse. You can see my CPS counter. It's
10:18a little bit off-centered, but it's
10:19whatever.
10:20Yo, this Yo, this one guy is spamming,
10:22"Jesser, you're so cute." Yo, thank you,
10:23bro. Thank you. Chill. So chill. I have
10:25a double clicking mouse. You can see my
10:26CPS counter. It's a little bit
10:27off-centered, but it's whatever.
10:29So, you just want to time it so every
10:31single double click, you go to your uh
10:33skull anchor and then you go to your
10:35obsidian. So, then you'll have a instant
10:37two tick like this. You can do this with
10:38crystals, too, as you can see.
10:40>> Ooh. How do you double click though?
10:41>> that crazy consistent at it. I'm all
10:43right, but there's this one player,
10:45RedPikmin. He's actually pretty good at
10:46it. He also sells lessons [music] in my
10:48Discord. You know, selfish plug right
10:49here, right here, right here. But, if
10:51you really want to learn this, to be
10:52like the fastest besides keyboard
10:54placing they can possibly be,
10:56then uh you should buy a lesson from
10:57him. Now, I wanted to mention, just
10:59because you can click however many times
11:01does not mean that um like you can Like
11:03I can click up to like six CPS a second.
11:05[music] I might have clicked it there.
11:07But, that does not mean I'm going to be
11:08able to like fully like get an impulse a
11:09cluster with that. Technically, it is
11:11possible to do an instant [music] three
11:13tick where you go like this, click three
11:14times, and blow up a few telltums. But,
11:16your telltum needs to be actually
11:17delayed just so it has really hard place
11:19down like three blocks.
11:21And you can see I'm triple clicking. I
11:23placed it down one [music] times over
11:24here.
11:24>> What the I don't think I can even double
11:25click. I have a magnetic mouse, bro. I
11:27don't think this is possible. Let me
11:28try.
11:32You know, it's possible for me.
11:35Well, never mind.
11:36That's a double click. If I do it If I
11:37do it now If I double click with a
11:39crystal and it like I switch instantly
11:40to a crystal.
11:42Oh.
11:46See how fast that was?
11:48It's instant.
11:50Like this Look at this This is normal.
11:57And now I double click.
11:59It's instant, bro. Already on the Bro.
12:02Uh there's no way I'm going to get good
12:03at that, though. There's no way that I'm
12:04going to get good at that. There's no
12:05way.
12:06>> Out of like four times, five times, five
12:09times.
12:10And that's just going to be really hard
12:11to do, especially because you have to
12:13switch to Totem.
12:14But for like Obby and Crystal, you can
12:17it's just like pretty much guaranteed.
12:19And also that you can make them stack if
12:20[music] you just, you know,
12:23double click twice.
12:24>> Well, I guess I guess that's every
12:26Crystal PvP mechanic, bro. Did we learn
12:28something new? Yes. W video, bro.
