Introduction

0:00If you've been wanting to become a

0:01content creator, but you just can't

0:02figure out where to start or how to

0:03start, this course is for you. Maybe

0:06you're just tired of hearing the same

0:08advice, the whole pick a niche, be

0:10consistent, provide value, and you just

0:13want the actual tangible practical ways

0:16to become a content creator. If that

0:18sounds like you, grab a pen and paper or

0:21download the workbook that goes with

0:22this video, because right now I want to

0:24teach you everything that you need to

0:26know to grow to 10,000 followers,

0:28100,000 followers, and

0:319-5 if that's your goal. The road map

0:33we're about to go over is the three-part

0:35framework that I've developed over the

0:37past 6 years of coaching thousands of

0:40content creators. During my time of

3-Phase Creator Framework

0:42being a content creator coach, I've

0:43identified three patterns or phases that

0:47every creator goes through, and then I

0:49turned those into a repeatable system so

0:52that I could teach it to you right now.

0:53The three phases that we are going to go

0:55over are build. This is where you're

0:57going to set the foundations of your

0:59personal brand and business. The second

1:02is scale. This is like those growth

1:04strategies. How do you create content

1:06that's actually going to grow your

1:08platforms? Most people want to skip

1:10build and jump straight to the scale

1:12strategies, but without build, you won't

1:15see any growth. So, build is arguably

1:17the most important. And then we'll wrap

1:18things up with profit. This is how to

1:20make money as a content creator. Then at

1:23the very, very, very end, I'm going to

1:25share with you the key to keeping your

1:27creator business running. This is a

1:30method that I developed specifically for

1:32this video that I have never seen

1:34anybody teach anywhere, so I'm so

1:36excited to teach it here for the first

1:38time. And I think if you're going to

1:39learn anything and apply anything from

1:41this video, it is going to be that final

1:43golden ticket, nugget, key, I don't

1:46know. I truly believe this one thing can

1:49be a game-changer for any content

1:51creator trying to grow their career in

1:53the creator economy. Now, this framework

1:55that we are about to go over is the

1:57framework that has helped hundreds of my

2:00students hit huge milestones like

2:02growing to 100,000 followers on

2:04Instagram in less than 6 months, or

2:06getting monetized on YouTube in 3

2:08months, having one single TikTok post

2:11bring in thousands of followers, and

2:14I've even helped dozens of creators

2:16replace their 9-5 income with content

2:19creation. So, why am I teaching this

2:21framework in a who knows how long

2:23YouTube video completely for free?

2:24Because I believe content creation is

2:27one of the most powerful career paths

2:29somebody can choose today. And you are

2:31not too late to start your content

2:33creator journey. Goldman Sachs has

2:35predicted that the global creator

2:37economy is going to nearly double in the

2:40next few years, going from a $250

2:43billion industry 2025 to over $480

2:48billion

2:49by 2027. That means there's about to be

2:51$200 billion invested into the creator

2:54economy, and I think you deserve to have

2:57a piece of that. My business mission is

2:59to help creators build sustainable

3:01careers and to shape the future of the

3:03creator economy. So, whether that means

3:06we ever work together, whether you buy a

3:08course from me or not, whether you

3:09subscribe to my YouTube channel or not,

3:11I want the best for you, for creators.

3:14And the only way I know how to do that

3:16is to teach. Now, I know my way is not

3:18the only way to grow online. There are

3:21thousands of creator coaches out there,

3:23and that's actually great news for you,

3:24because that means you have so many

3:26options and different ways that you

3:28could try to grow as a content creator.

3:30My only hope with this video is that I'm

3:32able to become a great resource for you,

3:35and that 1 year from now you could look

3:37back on your journey and say, "Wow, that

3:41video was the video that started the

3:43trajectory of my career." So, as always,

3:45timestamps are below. Use them if you

3:47need them. Let's jump in. Now, I

3:49apologize for my voice in this. If

3:51you've been following me for some time,

3:52you might notice I sound a little

3:54different. I've been sick for a week

3:56now, and I've been waiting for it to

3:57just pass, and it isn't passing. It's

3:59not going anywhere. So, we got to get

4:01this video filmed. It's got to get

4:03edited and live in about a week and a

4:05half. So, we're just going for it. I got

4:07my tea, and we're just going to have a

4:09great time. Okay, like I had said

Growth Strategy

4:10before, there are many strategies that

4:13you could follow to become a full-time

4:16content creator. Your strategy will vary

4:18depending on the creator you want to be

4:20or your goals. The three main strategies

4:23that I teach are the niche approach,

4:25audience approach, and identity

4:27approach, or like you as your brand. If

4:31you've been following me for a while,

4:32this part might be review for you, but

4:35it's important, so we're still going to

4:36go over it. Now, the niche approach,

4:38this is probably the one that you've

4:40heard the most. It's the traditional

4:43way for growing online. The reason you

4:46hear this one all the time is because it

4:51works. There's a reason everybody says

4:53it, and it's because it is a proven way

4:57to grow any business is to niche out.

5:00Now, the issue that we have with niching

5:02down or with what everybody says is

5:05nobody really teaches how to properly do

5:07that. And when you niche down properly,

5:10you are identifying who your content is

5:13for,

5:15what type of content you create, and how

5:18you help people achieve their goals. So,

5:20if you can identify all three of those

5:22things, that's a proper niche. For

5:24example, if you were to say fitness, I'm

5:27sorry, but fitness is not a niche.

5:29That's just like a industry, it's a

5:31category. You need to identify what kind

5:34of fitness for who. So, maybe it's

5:36at-home fitness for busy moms. That is

5:39more of a niche. And then with this

5:42strategy, you'll probably hear the terms

5:44like, "Okay, after you've niched down,

5:47now you need to identify content

5:50pillars. Yay!" And then content pillars

5:53are the subtopics that you'll be posting

5:55about and rotating between. So, you have

5:58at-home fitness for busy moms. Maybe one

6:01of your content pillars are like arm or

6:04upper body workouts. That's a pillar.

6:06Lower body workouts. Or maybe workouts

6:09that need equipment, no-equipment

6:11workouts, or like bodyweight workouts.

6:13Or maybe a pillar is nutrition and how

6:16to fuel your body as a busy mom. So,

6:18like the subtopics under fitness. Now,

6:21I'm not going to lie to you. This

6:23strategy, you're going to hate this.

6:25It's actually my favorite strategy

6:28because it is 100%

6:31the way that you are going to grow the

6:33fastest. If you want fast, rapid growth,

6:37niching down will do that for you.

6:39People hate to hear it, but when you do

6:41it the right way, so many of my students

6:44have just blown up because they were

6:46just like, "You know what? I'm just

6:47going to bite the bullet. I'm going to

6:48niche down." It works, and that's why I

6:50love it. But, I digress. There are other

6:52ways to grow. If you can't figure out

6:54how to niche down or if that doesn't

6:56feel true to you, that's okay. There are

6:58other options. So, with the audience

7:00approach, this is when you are just

7:02posting for a particular person. I'm

7:05going to just put part person. Doesn't

7:08mean it's part person, it's particular

7:10person. So, you have like one person in

7:12mind, and you are posting for them.

7:15You're constantly thinking, "How can I

7:16show up for them today? What do they

7:18need in their feed today?" I also really

7:21like this strategy because it thrives

7:23off of the algorithm. Algorithms across

7:26all platforms, Instagram, YouTube,

7:27TikTok, algorithms identify audience

7:30behavior. That's really all they are.

7:31It's human behavior. And so, if you can

7:34really understand your person's

7:37behavior, what they like, what they

7:39don't like, what makes them save a

7:40video, if you can really get into the

7:42psychology of a person, you're going to

7:44have no problem creating solid content.

7:47Now, the cool thing with the audience

7:48approach is you don't have to pick one

7:51topic. You're picking one person. So, if

7:54this person is interested, let's say

7:58you're at college, you want to post for

7:59other college students, anything that a

8:01college student would want or be

8:03interested in, you could post about. So,

8:04if I want to post about plants cuz I

8:06love plants, I can make a whole post

8:08about these are the plants that are in

8:10my dorm room and thriving indoors,

8:12right? Or if you want to talk about like

8:15fashion or affordable Amazon fashion for

8:18college students, or even like food, if

8:21you want to talk about these are the

8:23meals that I'm eating, budget-friendly

8:25meals for college students, you could

8:26talk about that. Or if you want to talk

8:28about like study tips and how you're

8:30studying, how to stay organized, you can

8:33do that. You see, there are multiple

8:35topics. It is an array of topics, but

8:39you're always positioning those topics

8:41to appeal to a particular person. With

8:45audience, instead of content pillars

8:47that you're rotating around, you're kind

8:49of rotating between your audience's

8:52interests

8:53and different things that you think

8:55would bring them value. We'll talk about

8:57value later, but this is kind of what

9:00you're rotating around. Now, the

9:02identity approach or the you approach,

9:04this is the whole like you are your

9:08niche. This is typically for the

9:10creators who are like, "I'm a lifestyle

9:13creator. I just want to post lifestyle

9:15content." I'm not making fun, I just use

9:17different voices for different things.

9:19But, if you want to be like a lifestyle

9:21content creator, this is probably the

9:24avenue that you'll go down. You just

9:26want to post really about your life and

9:30your interests. This is where you're

9:33posting about your life, your interests,

9:36what you want to post about. But, where

9:38people fall into a trap of this, they

9:42end up being like a little bit sloppy

9:44with their strategy. So, they're like,

9:46"Well, I just want to post about

9:47whatever I want. It's my lifestyle, so

9:49I'm going to post whatever I want." But,

9:50then they forget that you also have to

9:52have strategy with it. So, they end up

9:54like not growing or growing really

9:57slowly. But, you can do the lifestyle

10:01approach with the right strategy layered

10:03on top of it. So, you still have to be

10:06intentional with what you're creating.

10:08Again, if your goal is growth, you can't

10:10just be like, "Oh, I'm going to create

10:11whatever I want and I'm going to go

10:12viral." There's still ways to be

10:15intentional and have strategy. Now, I

10:17will say this one is the fastest way to

10:20grow, niching down. Audience, I would

10:22say is like medium growth, and then this

10:26one is sometimes the slowest

10:29growth. So, you get to kind of choose

10:32your own journey, and you'll have to go

10:34in with the proper expectations of what

10:37that growth will look like. I'm not

10:38saying you can't grow with this one, you

10:40absolutely can. Just know that growth

10:43trajectory might look a little bit

10:45different compared to somebody who went

10:47the traditional route of niching down,

10:49and they grew like 10,000 followers in

10:5130 days. So, just go in with the proper

10:53expectation of what your journey is

10:56going to look like, and you'll be fine,

10:58you'll be okay. Layer it with strategy

11:00and you will grow. Now, believe it or

Primary Social Media Platform

11:02not, the strategy that you choose will

11:06affect the platform that you post on.

11:09The three main platforms that I teach

11:10and will be talking about in this video

11:12are Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube. When

11:14it comes to strategy options on

11:17Instagram, you have to niche down.

11:21People don't like to hear it, but you

11:23have to as of right now. And let me tell

11:24you why. Instagram, their algorithm

11:27creates account-based embeddings. This

11:30means that they actually assign your

11:33entire account one topic. So, as you're

11:37posting, Instagram will say, "Oh, we see

11:40a common theme here. This person's

11:41account is about food. So, let's only

11:45show people interested in food their

11:47content." If you're trying to be a

11:49lifestyle creator on Instagram and

11:51you're posting about your daily vlogs,

11:54kitchen reorganization, what you wore

11:57that day, travel tips because you just

11:59went to Hawaii. If you're posting about

12:01all those things, Instagram will never

12:03be able to give you a proper

12:04account-based embedding, and you'll just

12:07be posting and posting and posting and

12:09posting and like never growing the way

12:12you want to. And I say this with a

12:13specific person in mind. We started our

12:16creator journeys at the same time. We

12:17went to like both went to like similar

12:19creator events back in 2019, and they

12:23are still at the same place that they

12:25started because of this thing. They do

12:28not want to niche down, but they also

12:30don't want to pivot away from Instagram.

12:33And you just have to understand

12:35Instagram thrives off of niching down.

12:38If you don't want to niche down, don't

12:40pick Instagram. Pick somewhere else, and

12:43you'll be fine. You'll see great growth.

12:45But, that's how their account or their

12:47algorithm behaves as of right now. With

12:50TikTok, honestly, you could pick any of

12:53the strategies that we talked about

12:55because with TikTok's algorithm, each

12:58video is categorized separately. So,

13:00that's why with TikTok, you could be a

13:02lifestyle creator. Each video has its

13:04own opportunity and is analyzed

13:06separately by the algorithm. When you

13:07post a video about fashion, TikTok will

13:09be like, "Oh, what's this video about?

13:10Oh, it's about fashion. Let's show it to

13:12people interested in fashion." Instead

13:14of categorizing your account under one

13:16topic and then you're stuck under that

13:17topic. So, that's why TikTok works for

13:20any strategy, niche down, audience, or

13:22lifestyle. Again, audience is going to

13:24work here as well because algorithms

13:27thrive off of human behavior. If you

13:29know your audience, you'll be able to

13:30work with the algorithm instead of

13:32against it, and it'll be easy peasy.

13:35Okay. Now, YouTube, I will say any

13:38strategy works on YouTube as well, but

13:40you really have to, if you don't want to

13:43niche down and you want to go the

13:44audience or identity approach, you

13:46really need to take the time to

13:49understand SEO and how that's going to

13:52work with your given strategy. SEO is a

13:55huge part of YouTube, and SEO is not

13:58hard. It can be very, very easy,

14:00especially nowadays. I think back in

14:01blog days, when people everyone was

14:04building a website and a blog, SEO was

14:06hard. But, now with modern-day

14:09technology and social platforms, it's

14:11actually simplified a lot more. And so,

14:13I think people have this preconceived

14:15notion with SEO where it's like, "Oh my

14:16gosh, it's too hard. It's intimidating."

14:18Yeah, it was back in the day, but

14:19nowadays it's actually pretty simple. If

14:21you're open and willing to understand

14:23SEO, YouTube's going to be a great place

14:25for you. Now, for each platform, your

14:27best bet for Instagram is short-form

14:30content, vertical short-form content,

14:33aka Reels. That is going to be your best

14:37mode of content to attract new eyes and

14:41grow. For TikTok, short-form vertical as

14:44well. That's going to be the best

14:46platform or best form of content for

14:49growth. And then YouTube, this is where

14:51if you want to be a long-form content

14:53creator, you're going to be on YouTube.

14:56Okay, let me help you identify even more

14:58similarities and differences between all

15:00of these places. Let's just talk about

15:02Instagram for a second. It's going to be

15:03really great if you enjoy batch creating

15:08content. You love filming content ahead

15:10of time and having like 20 videos in the

15:12pipeline, 10 videos in the pipeline

15:14drafted and ready to go. Batch creators,

15:16perfect for Instagram. Instagram is also

15:19a really great place for coaches or

15:22educators. If you're a coach educator,

15:24this is going to be a really good

15:25platform for you as well. A lot of

15:27coaches will batch ahead of time because

15:29tips are usually evergreen. Like,

15:32they're not relying on trends that are

15:33happening this week. So, I can make a

15:35video right now on, "Oh, here are some

15:37tips for filming your video." And

15:39whether I post it now or in 3 months

15:41from now, it'll still be relevant. So,

15:43that's why coaches usually do well with

15:46batching content and perform well on

15:48Instagram. They have a niche, they know

15:49what they're educating on. So, that

15:51usually works really well there. Now, I

15:53will say with Instagram, monetization

15:56is not the best when it comes to their

15:59monetization tools specifically. Like,

16:02you could have millions of views and

16:04they'll pay you 5 cents. You know what I

16:06mean? So, the monetization tools on

16:08Instagram, not great. But, I will say if

16:13you want to go at the brand collab route

16:16or even selling digital products, those

16:20work really well on Instagram. Brands

16:22are obsessed with Instagram. They love

16:25collaborating on Reels or Stories there.

16:27So, that works really well. So, if

16:29you're a niched-down creator, you'll

16:32probably get some great collabs and also

16:34automations for selling digital

16:36products. That works really well on

16:37Instagram with auto DM features or tools

16:40like ManyChat or Stan, who you can set

16:42up funnels, make sure you're making

16:44money passively. All that works really

16:46well on Instagram. Now, let's talk about

16:49TikTok. TikTok is great for anybody who

16:52has no idea what their niche is, and

16:56they want to test and post content in

16:58all places to figure out what is like

17:02their thing. What creator do they want

17:04to be known for? What type of creator do

17:06they want to be? So, if you want to test

17:08content, TikTok is going to be your

17:11place. TikTok is also going to be really

17:14great for casual creators. And what I

17:16mean by casual creators is maybe you

17:18don't batch ahead of time, you can't

17:20don't have the time to, or you have a

17:22hard time with batching and you work

17:24better on the go, on the fly. You're

17:27like, "Ooh, I have a video idea." You

17:29record it right then and there. You want

17:30to post it right then and there. If you

17:32just want to like post, time doesn't

17:34matter, don't want to have to think

17:35about batching ahead, TikTok is going to

17:38be really great, especially the format

17:40of just like a casual holding your

17:41phone, talking to the camera. That

17:43format works really well on TikTok

17:45versus Instagram. Doesn't work as well

17:48there as of recording this video. So, if

17:51you're more of a casual creator,

17:53TikTok's going to be a really great

17:54place for you. Now, I will say TikTok,

17:57they have some pretty good monetization

18:00options. They have TikTok Shop. They

18:03have live streaming and badges and all

18:07these different ways creators can

18:08monetize with TikTok and get paid pretty

18:11well. So, I do like TikTok monetization

18:14tools. I think they're really great,

18:16especially if you're somebody who wants

18:18to thrive off of affiliates.

18:21Affiliates. Yeah. If you want to thrive

18:24off of affiliate income, I think TikTok

18:25is really great for that. If you enjoy

18:27going live, TikTok is really great for

18:30that. Now, you can be an educator, a

18:32niched educator that wants brand collabs

18:34and sell digital products on TikTok,

18:36too. TikTok is probably the most

18:38flexible of all the platforms. So, all

18:41of these things here, like niching down,

18:44batch creating, being a coach, wanting

18:46brand collabs, and selling digital

18:47products, all of that can apply to

18:49TikTok, too. It's such a flexible

18:51platform. So, I'll help you identify

18:53which one at the very end, but let's

18:55talk about YouTube. We talked about the

18:57lifestyle strategy probably being the

19:00slowest strategy of them all. YouTube is

19:03going to be the slowest growth platform

19:07of them all as well. But, they pay the

19:10best when it comes to monetization.

19:14They have it figured out. They have it

19:16down. They've been in the game for a

19:18while. They know how to monetize and

19:20treat their creators really well. So, I

19:22really do think they're like a

19:24creator-first

19:26platform, the creator-first

19:29minded. They have so many resources for

19:31creators. And also, if you want to build

19:35like die-hard community, community,

19:40don't know why I sang that, but

19:41YouTube's going to be really great. So,

19:42it's a slow growth, but it's like so

19:45impactful and meaningful when you do get

19:47that growth. It's like the best thing in

19:49the world. Honestly, YouTube is my

19:51favorite platform, but I am biased. I've

19:53been posting to YouTube since I was

19:54basically in my mother's womb. So, how

19:56do you know which one's going to be best

19:58for you? I have like a fun quiz to help

20:01you identify which platform is going to

20:03be best for you. It's linked in the

20:05workbook if you're following along in

20:07the workbook. But, choosing a platform

20:09can be as simple as asking yourself,

20:12which platform do you enjoy being on as

20:15a consumer? When you open your phone,

20:16which platform do you naturally

20:18gravitate towards as a consumer? Which

20:21platform do you enjoy being on and

20:23creating for? For me, that's YouTube. I

20:26love watching YouTube videos as I get

20:28ready in the morning. I play them while

20:29I'm doing dishes, while I'm in the

20:31shower, while I'm driving. I don't watch

20:33them while I drive, but I'm playing them

20:34like they're podcasts while I'm driving.

20:36I love YouTube. I love being in the

20:38space. And so, for me, I knew like I

20:41wanted to be a YouTuber. I just had that

20:43feeling. And so, I just want you to ask

20:45yourself, when you think of yourself

20:47being like, let's say you are the next

20:49big creator, you are the next Ryan

20:51Trahan, the next Alex Earl, whatever it

20:54is, when people ask or identify you,

20:56they're like, "Oh yeah, that's the

20:58TikToker." Or that's the YouTuber. You

21:00know, that's the Instagrammer. I don't

21:02know. Ask yourself like, what platform

21:04do you want to be associated with as you

21:06grow? And which platform also brings you

21:08the most enjoyment? For me, it was not

21:11Instagram. I had so much anxiety anytime

21:14I would open the app, look at the app,

21:16tap the app. Like, Instagram gave me so

21:19much anxiety and comparison. And so,

21:21that I knew I was like, "Okay, that's

21:22not going to be my main focus. I know

21:24it's going to be a great resource as I

21:25grow and tool for the business that I'm

21:27growing, but it's not going to be my

21:29main thing. YouTube's going to be my

21:31main thing." So, always do that gut

21:32check with yourself to figure out where

21:34you want to be. This advice might be

21:37contrary to other educators' opinions

21:40and tips, but I truly believe you only

21:45need to choose one platform in the

21:46beginning. And what I mean by that is I

21:49want you to focus on one platform when

21:52it comes to strategy. When it comes to

21:55creating content for one specific

21:58platform and doing content research,

22:01figuring out the algorithms' behavior,

22:03the audience's interests, spending your

22:05time studying analytics, I want all of

22:06your strategy and effort to go into

22:08creating content for one platform. Be

22:12focused on just that platform. You can

22:15repurpose that content to other places

22:18if you have the capacity to do so, but

22:20you do not have to be everywhere in the

22:23beginning. I notice people will say, "Oh

22:25yeah, you need to post everywhere. You

22:27need to be everywhere at all times. You

22:28need to be blah blah blah blah blah

22:30blah." I feel like that puts so much

22:31pressure on solo creators who maybe are

22:35juggling being a parent and a full-time

22:37job. And that pressure of like, "Ugh, I

22:39can't do this because I have to be

22:41everywhere. So, what's the point of me

22:43even trying if I have to be at" You do

22:44not have to be everywhere. You do not

22:46have to. That is non-existent not a

22:50thing. You absolutely can just choose

22:52one. You could just grow on one, and

22:54that is totally fine if you don't have

22:56the capacity to be everywhere else. When

22:58you put all of your effort into one

23:00platform, at least those that strategy

23:03effort into one platform, that focus,

23:05you're giving 100% of your energy there

23:08instead of you're thinking, "Okay, I'm

23:10going to make short-form content, and

23:12I'm going to apply it to Instagram,

23:13YouTube, and TikTok. And then I'm going

23:15to see, okay, well what went well here?

23:17Why did it go viral here and not here?

23:18Well, this got more comments, but this

23:20one got more saves." You're then

23:22spending 33% energy here, 33 here. You

23:25have split attention. You're chasing

23:27multiple things. You don't have a clear

23:29focus. When you focus on just one

23:32platform, you can really understand how

23:35to improve your content there and then

23:37distribute it elsewhere. Now, if having

23:39multiple platforms is important to you,

23:42that's okay. That's fine. You can

23:45repurpose. I found when doing my deep

23:47dive of Forbes' top creators that the

23:50top pairing was actually TikTok and

23:55YouTube. So, those two paired really

23:58well together. What I noticed people

24:00would do is they would create short-form

24:02content on TikTok. They would then do

24:05two things. Repurpose that short-form

24:08content as a short or as shorts, and

24:12they would then also create long-form

24:14versions of that short-form content and

24:17direct people to their long-form

24:19platform or long-form YouTube videos.

24:21So, I noticed these two paired really

24:24well together. That was the most common

24:26pairing. And I will also let you know

24:30that Instagram and YouTube, they did not

24:34pair well together. At least what I've

24:36noticed with myself and my students,

24:38when people have a YouTube channel and

24:41an Instagram, they would try to create

24:43short-form content and then direct

24:45people to long-form videos, but their

24:47audience would never go watch the

24:49long-form videos. For some reason, the

24:51Instagram users were not interested in

24:54long-form content at all. But, TikTok

24:57short-form users were interested in

24:59long-form content. So, that was just

25:01like interesting pairings that I had

25:03discovered with myself, my students, and

25:07also analyzing Forbes' top creators.

25:09Okay, now that you know the platform

Personal Brand Clarity

25:11that you're going to be on, your

25:13platform options, let's finally get into

25:16build, shall we? No, that's all part of

25:18build, but let's start with building

25:20your brand and identifying the type of

25:22creator that you want to be. The first

25:24thing that I want you to do is have like

25:26a brand brainstorming session where you

25:29sit down and you journal about a few

25:31things. The three most important that I

25:33want you to actually take the time to

25:35answer. You can pause this video and

25:37fill it out in the workbook. But, answer

25:39these questions. First thing that I want

25:40you to journal about is what do you want

25:42to be known for? So, there's different

25:44ways you could go about this. Let's say,

25:471 year from now, where are you? What

25:50does your day-to-day look like? How are

25:52you showing up? What's that short-term

25:55goal with content creation, with your

25:58platform? 1 year from today, where do

26:00you want to be? What do you want to be

26:02known for? Same thing. Do that same

26:04exercise, but think more like 3 to 5

26:07years from now. What do you want to be

26:08known for? If you were to be interviewed

26:10or introduced on a podcast, how do you

26:12want somebody to introduce you? What are

26:14you known for? How many followers do you

26:17have? How are you making money? How much

26:21money you making? How much per month?

26:24Where's that money coming from? So,

26:26that's what I want you to ask yourself

26:28when it comes to like what do you want

26:29to be known for? Then I want you to ask

26:31yourself, what kind of content do you

26:33want to create? This is just like a good

26:35way to identify, what are those first

26:37few videos that you're going to be

26:38making? Is it like day in the life

26:41videos? Inspirational content? There's

26:44no right or wrong answers here. So, just

26:47like brain dump what kind of content do

26:50you see yourself creating? And then

26:52finally, who is your content for?

26:54Are they male or female? Where are they

26:58located? What are they currently

27:00struggling with right now? On top of

27:02that, how can you help them with those

27:05pain points? Now, if you

27:08I don't want to say are very rare person

27:10who doesn't fall into any of these

27:11categories, but if you truly cannot

27:14answer any of these questions, I've

27:17actually worked with one student who

27:19could not answer any of these questions.

27:20So, I'm throwing this out there as an

27:22alternative. Another question that you

27:25might want to ask yourself instead are,

27:27what are some dream brands that you want

27:30to work with? The student that I had

27:32worked with, they didn't know exactly

27:34what they wanted to be known for yet or

27:36like who to create content for, but what

27:38they did know is some dream brands. They

27:41were like, "Would love to work with

27:43Sony. That would be really cool. Would

27:45love to get free lenses. That would be

27:48really cool." And so, they just

27:50brainstormed like the type of brands

27:52they wanted to work with, and that can

27:54also give you clarity on the type of

27:56content you want to create because if

27:58you want to work with those brands, you

28:00got to create content in alignment with

28:02those brands and content that those

28:04brands would be interested in seeing.

28:06So, this is another way to start getting

28:09some clarity on your personal brand, the

28:11type of content you want to be creating

28:13as a content creator. If you're having a

28:14hard time answering any of these

28:16questions, something that helped me when

28:18I was trying to get clarity on what I

28:20wanted my niche to be because I knew I

28:22wanted to niche down. So, what I did was

28:25on one of our long drives, my husband

28:27and I, when we were commuting from San

28:29Diego and LA, I asked him, I was like,

28:31"If you could come to me for advice on

28:33anything, what would it be?" And he

28:36said, "Instagram and organization." And

28:40I was like, "Oh, interesting." He was

28:42like, "Yeah, you're really good at

28:44Instagram." At the time, this is like

28:452019. He was like, "You're really good

28:46at growing, posting consistently there,

28:48and like staying organized. Even the

28:50closet. Like, you keep our closet really

28:52organized." Or even like project

28:54management. I was a project manager in

28:56corporate at the time. So, he was like,

28:57"I feel like you're really good with

28:59organization, getting things done, and

29:01even Instagram planning, executing." So,

29:04that was how I niched down in the

29:05beginning was, "Oh, okay. I'm going to

29:07teach Instagram." I taught Instagram on

29:10YouTube, but I was like, "I'm going to

29:11teach Instagram." So, asking those close

29:14to you, if they could come to you for

29:16advice on anything, what would they come

29:17to you for advice on? That was something

29:19that gave me a lot of clarity. Now, the

29:21good news is it's okay to not have all

29:24the answers cuz these answers, they're

29:26not final. These are not the end-all,

29:28be-all. This is your brand. You did it.

29:31You figured out your personal brand.

29:32We're done. Like, no. The goal here is

29:34not to have this perfect brand now.

29:37That's not what we're creating. This is

29:39just your initial brand brainstorm.

29:42You're just getting everything out.

29:44You're starting the brainstorm because

29:46this is going to give you a starting

29:48point. And then over time, as you take

29:51action on this starting point, more

29:54clarity will come. You have to be

29:56willing to take action without clarity,

29:59if you don't have that clarity yet.

30:01That's the whole thing of being a

30:03content creator. Your content strategy

30:05evolves almost every single month. So,

30:07if you're willing to just like have

30:09something and like start to take action

30:11on it without knowing all the ins and

30:13outs and everything perfectly, you're

30:15going to be fine. And just accept that

30:17you'll figure it out as you go.

30:19Everything's going to fall into place.

30:20If you're following along in the

30:21workbook, you will probably notice with

30:23every activity that we're doing and

30:25everything that we're we're working on,

30:27I also actually have different AI

30:28prompts to help guide you. So, if you

30:31need help getting clarity on like your

30:33branding, there's different AI prompts

30:35that you could plug into Chat GPT and be

30:37like, "Hey, can you help me with blah

30:38blah blah blah blah blah blah?" So, you

30:39just copy paste the prompts and chat can

30:42talk to you and help you identify

30:44everything that you need for your

30:45branding and other stuff that we're

30:47going to get into. So, just know that

30:49that is another resource to help you,

30:51AI. Okay, now that we've kind of talked

30:53about picking platforms, branding,

30:55getting some clarity on that initial

30:57brainstorming, I want to do some actual

30:59examples with you so you could see how

31:01this works in real time. Let's do an

31:04example and let's say this person, they

31:07want to be on Instagram. So, they want

31:09to niche down. Now, all of the examples

31:12that we're actually going to be going

31:14over today are real-life students that I

31:17work with in the BSP model, in our Slack

31:19community. If you don't know, the BSP

31:21model is the Ivy League for content

31:24creators. It's like an online university

31:26for content creators that teaches you

31:29what we're going over today, Build Skill

31:30Profit model. Teaches you everything

31:33from A to Z how to become a content

31:36creator. There's hours and hours and

31:38great templates, downloadables of

31:40resources there. So, these are real

31:42examples of students that I've worked

31:43with and how we've gotten clarity on

31:46their brands for each of these

31:47platforms. When you join the BSP model,

31:49you immediately get access to 30 days of

31:52our private Slack community. So, that's

31:54where I work with my students and help

31:56you get clarity on your niche, profile

31:59audits, content. And after those 30

32:01days, there is an option to renew and

32:04like more of a membership fee to

32:06maintain access to the Slack community.

32:08But yeah, that's just a little overview

32:09of the BSP model. A lot of everything

32:12that you're learning today is part of

32:13the BSP model and all the examples we'll

32:16be doing are real students. So, this

32:18student that I worked with, she wanted

32:22to niche down. And so, because she

32:24wanted to niche down, we went with

32:27Instagram. And she also liked Instagram.

32:29That was what she was already on and

32:31familiar with. So, her niche and what

32:34she wanted to be known for was home

32:37organization. And specifically, she

32:39wanted to help busy moms with home

32:43organization, how to like maintain

32:46cleanliness, aesthetic, keeping the

32:48house clean, all the things. Basically,

32:51home organization for busy moms,

32:53everything that they would need to know.

32:54So then, we went over her content

32:57pillars. This is the post about.

32:59Remember, if we're niching down, we're

33:00going to do traditional content pillars.

33:02So, the different content pillars that

33:05we created for the post about were space

33:09by space organization. So, that's like,

33:11okay, kitchen organization, closet

33:14organization, bedroom. So,

33:15location-specific

33:17organization. We also chose quick wins

33:21or methods as another pillar for her.

33:25So, this is like 10-minute tidy routine.

33:28Do this reset before bed. So, those

33:30quick hacks, tips, tricks, methods to

33:34create like instant wins and instant

33:36organization. Then, there was more

33:38long-term systems or wins. This is more,

33:43okay, strategies for toy rotation, chore

33:46charts, getting things done, routines

33:49that you could establish, how to

33:51properly organize toys for your kids or

33:53toy rotation tips, chore charts and

33:57age-appropriate chore charts, morning

33:59routines. So, these are more like

34:01systems that you could implement into

34:03your routines for long-term win and

34:06organization. Next was time-saving tips.

34:10How do you schedule in cleaning into

34:12your day-to-day, planners, organization,

34:15things like that? And then, our favorite

34:17one that we landed on was

34:20budget-friendly hacks.

34:24So, this is like, okay, you don't have

34:27the biggest budget in the world, but you

34:28want to organize your closet. So, like

34:30dollar store organization hacks with

34:33different items at the dollar store and

34:35how to make them look elevated or

34:36up-leveled. How to repurpose containers

34:39that you're getting to reduce waste and

34:42use those containers for organization.

34:45This was the one that we kind of wanted

34:47to lean into and really make her more

34:51well-known for that. So, we'll talk a

34:53little bit about how we positioned her

34:56for this one. Now, she has a lot more

34:59clarity with this strategy of what she's

35:02going to be posting about, who she's

35:03posting for. And these are the different

35:06types of content that she will be

35:08rotating about on Instagram. And we'll

35:11talk about, okay, well, now that we know

35:13what to post about, how do we come up

35:15with actual video ideas? We'll talk

35:16about that, too. So, this is just one

35:18example for Instagram. Let's do another

35:21example. This one, we'll do this one for

35:26YouTube. I'm going to use an example

35:28that I see all the time with BSP

35:31students. And I feel like a very common

35:33niche people want to be in. If it's not

35:36lifestyle, usually people are like, "I

35:38want to be a wellness creator." And I'm

35:40like, "I love that, but that is so

35:43broad. We got to figure out like what's

35:46going to make you stand out among all

35:48the other wellness creators out there."

35:50So, I actually had a student come up to

35:52me and she was like, "You know what,

35:54Milli? I want to be a wellness creator.

35:58That's what I want to do. And I want to

35:59post about diet and nutrition, exercise,

36:05mindset,

36:07money, and all the things." And

36:11immediately when I see this, I'm like,

36:13okay, this is very broad. This is going

36:15to be like talking to everyone, talking

36:17about everything, and it's not going to

36:19stick quite well. You still want to have

36:21very targeted strategy. So, I was like,

36:23okay, well, let's niche down by choosing

36:27a specific audience that you want to

36:29reach. And I feel like that's like a

36:30common theme with the other one, busy

36:32moms, and then also this one. This

36:34student, she was like, "Well, I actually

36:37have a chronic illness. What if I focus

36:40on wellness specifically for other

36:42people with chronic illnesses?" So, she

36:45wanted to target other

36:48women with chronic illness. Her post

36:52about actually became diet, nutrition,

36:56meals, and clean products for people

36:59with autoimmune diseases or chronic

37:02illnesses. This became exercise and

37:06autoimmune. Mindset, same thing applied

37:09for chronic illness. Money, managing

37:11money and finances

37:13while paying for different treatments or

37:15medications.

37:17We even added one other pillar, which

37:20was more chronic illness education and

37:23talking about how to identify that, what

37:26that means for you, your lifestyle, how

37:28you could how she could help people with

37:31chronic illness. So, we actually added

37:33this final pillar. And now,

37:37on YouTube, she has a clear audience.

37:40So, she could talk about any of these

37:42topics and YouTube isn't going to care

37:44because she has narrowed down who it's

37:47for and that's going to help YouTube

37:49tremendously deliver her content to the

37:52right people. So, the audience approach

37:54is what we ended up doing for YouTube.

37:56Now, finally, let's do an example for

38:00TikTok. Now, for this example, I'm

38:02actually going to be using myself. I

38:05felt like talking through life lifestyle

38:08examples, just talking off the top of my

38:10head, not having a script, using myself

38:12as the example is going to be easiest.

38:14When asking myself, okay, if I were to

38:16create a personal TikTok, what do I want

38:18to be known for? Lifestyle, right? I

38:21just want to be known for me. That's

38:23what I want to be known for. I don't

38:24want to be known for like a topic. I

38:26don't want to be niched down, put in a

38:27box. I just want to be known as Milli.

38:29So then, when asking, okay, well, who do

38:31I want my audience to be? My answer is

38:33really I I don't know. I I don't know. I

38:35just want people who are interested in

38:37me and my life. You know what I mean?

38:39So, let's skip the audience and jump to

38:41post about. And all I know is I want to

38:45post about my life interests, maybe

38:48different life pillars, or traits that

38:51are unique to me and my life. These are

38:53going to be harder to identify because

38:55if you're doing lifestyle content,

38:56everything feels normal. Like nothing

38:59feels, "Wow, this is so cool. Other

39:01people would be really interested in

39:03this." So, when I kind of brainstorm,

39:05okay, what do I want to post about? I'm

39:07going to ask myself, what are different

39:10interests, themes, or things that come

39:13up every day in my life? Because if I'm

39:15creating a lifestyle page, what are

39:18those recurring things in my life that I

39:20could create content on? For me, coffee

39:23is a big one. I make coffee every day

39:26and I love my coffee and I love

39:28experimenting with different homemade

39:30syrups, lattes, all the things. So,

39:33coffee is like, okay, yes, I for sure

39:35want to post about coffee. And during my

39:37initial brainstorming, I was like, well,

39:40I get dressed every day and I enjoy

39:43fashion and finding my style as a new

39:47mom. So I want to post about fashion and

39:51I also enjoy reading. I'm in a book

39:53club. Shout out book club. Nobody

39:56watches me. So I want to talk about

39:58books cuz I read often. I audiobook,

40:01Kindle, physical, you name it. Love

40:04reading. Also I am a new mom. I have a

40:0710-month-old when you're watching this.

40:09So maybe I want to talk about just like

40:11that come up as a first-time mom. And

40:14then something else that I've been

40:16dealing with is like working out but

40:19it's different than before having a

40:20baby. So talking about like what it's

40:23been like getting back to working out as

40:26a postpartum

40:28mom because it took me like 7 months

40:31before I could actually walk without

40:33being in pain. So these are just the

40:36recurring things that happen in my

40:37day-to-day life. They're like the life

40:39pillars. I do all of these things or

40:42these things come up every single day.

40:44So it's going to be really easy for me

40:45to create lifestyle content around these

40:48things that come up every day. And now

40:50my audience, I'm just going to be like

40:52people with the same interests or season

40:57of life as me. That's probably going to

41:00be like other moms, other first-time

41:02moms but I'm going to leave it kind of

41:05vague. People with similar interests.

41:06You could be interested in coffee and

41:07not be a mom. You could be interested in

41:09books and not be a mom or even like die

41:11or girl, you know, like that doesn't

41:14matter. You could be interested in any

41:15of these things. You're welcome to my

41:17content. If a student came to me with

41:19this as like their initial brainstorming

41:21strategy, I'd say great. That's exactly

41:23what you need to get started but if

41:24somebody came to me and they're like

41:25this is my final plan. This is never

41:28going to move. We're sticking with it.

41:29I'd be like we'll see. We will see

41:31because what you will find for me this

41:34this is actually exactly what I did when

41:36I first started my personal Tik Tok. I

41:39was like this is these are the things I

41:40want to post about. This is my life. La

41:42la la la la.

41:43What you'll find as you take action on

41:45this initial brand brainstorming is

41:47sometimes the content's not going to

41:49click. You think you want to post about

41:51something and then you do and you're

41:52like I hated that. For me that was

41:55fashion. Personally I love it. I love

41:58piecing things together or try

41:59attempting to. I don't think I'm like a

42:01fashionista at all. This is from Ross

42:04and I tried to making some different

42:06fashion videos and it felt so not it

42:10felt inauthentic. It felt weird posting

42:13about it. I was like I don't want to be

42:14known for this. Like I don't want to

42:16have to worry about like looking good

42:18all the time cuz most of the time I'm

42:20wearing sweats or pajamas but when I do

42:22dress up I enjoy it but I found that

42:24this over time became irrelevant. This

42:28is such a normal part of content

42:30evolution which is actually something

42:32we'll talk about in scale but ideally at

42:35this point after doing the brainstorming

42:38and answering and journaling about those

42:40questions, you have some brand clarity

42:42about what you want to be known for, who

42:44you want to reach, what you want to post

42:46about or even the brands that you want

42:47to reach, the free products you want to

42:49get. All of that gives you a starting

42:51point. So with that clarity, we can

42:55start moving on and implementing. Now we

42:58are in the phase where you are you're

Optimize Your Profile

43:01going to start setting foundations for

43:03your brand, how to implement your brand

43:06clarity into your profile which is

43:09arguably one of the most important steps

43:10that a lot of people skip. Putting your

43:12brand clarity

43:14into your profile

43:16is basically positioning. Positioning is

43:20the intentional way you shape how your

43:23followers see you compared to everyone

43:26else in your industry. It's how you set

43:29up your personal brand and content to

43:32establish a competitive edge and hold a

43:36unique place in your followers' mind aka

43:40how you're going to stand out. As you

43:42get more clarity on the type of creator

43:44you want to become, the positioning that

43:47you implement into your profile will

43:49become more clear and it'll get more and

43:52more specific which will always help

43:54you. So your bio will likely be changing

43:56and evolving over these next coming

43:59months and that's fine. So let's talk

44:00about how to do that. We have Instagram,

44:03Tik Tok. We'll talk about YouTube. With

44:05Instagram, starting with the basics, you

44:08have your username and profile photo.

44:12Ideally these pair really well together.

44:15Most of the time your username's going

44:16to be like your name or something

44:19related to your industry. One of my

44:21students, Jess, her handle is you can do

44:24it gardening and believe it or not she

44:26is in the gardening niche. You could

44:28even do like fitness by Sophie if you're

44:31in the fitness industry or just it's

44:34Millie Adrian. You could just do like

44:36your name. So have it be simple, easy to

44:39spell, nothing too complicated and then

44:41ideally your profile photo will match

44:44your username. So if you're in the

44:46fitness industry, you got a fitness

44:48related photo. If you're doing fashion,

44:50fashion related. You want it to be like

44:52a good headshot, smiling, showing your

44:54face, no Snapchat or Tik Tok filters

44:57that are like overdone, solid, good

45:01lighting profile photo. Okay, now we

45:03have your nameplate.

45:05This is the bold part of your Instagram

45:08bio. This is arguably the most important

45:11part. Even for Tik Tok, we have like

45:15your handle, profile photo and then you

45:17have like your name here, the bold part.

45:22So the reason that is so important is

45:24because this is the most search-friendly

45:27part of your bio. Example, if I wanted

45:31to go find a brand strategist right now

45:34for my brand, I could go on Instagram

45:37and type in brand strategist and the

45:39results that Instagram show me will be

45:42based off of who has brand strategist

45:46right here

45:47in their bio. If they have brand

45:49strategist right there, they're showing

45:51up in search results. So that's why I

45:54have content creator tips because if

45:56somebody goes to Instagram right now and

45:58they want to look up content creator

45:59tips, I want to be the person that pops

46:02up as a resource for that. So you want

46:04to ask yourself what do you think your

46:06audience is searching for? How would

46:08they categorize you? Is it a mindset

46:10coach, home organization, art business

46:13tips, beginner artist tips, right? So

46:17what do you think your audience is

46:18looking for to find content or people

46:20like you? Same thing with Tik Tok.

46:24Social media coach. I have that as like

46:27the nameplate. The interesting thing

46:29with Tik Tok is when you comment on

46:32somebody's video, your name will show up

46:35as the commenter as opposed to Instagram

46:38if you comment on someone your username

46:40pops up. So if I say oh my G I love this

46:43video. Great tips. It's going to say

46:45it's Modern Millie commented versus on

46:48Tik Tok it's not going to say it's

46:50Modern Millie commented. It's going to

46:51say Millie social media coach commented.

46:54So I like to say social media coach on

46:56Tik Tok because if people find me in the

47:00comment section of another video and

47:02they're scrolling, they're going to see

47:04go to the comment section and they're

47:05going to be like oh this person's a

47:06social media coach. I'm curious. Click.

47:09And so that's why I have social coach.

47:12Not only is it search-friendly but

47:14that's what people see when they see

47:16that I've commented on another video. So

47:17if somebody finds me in the comment

47:18section, they're going to be like oh

47:20this social media coach is commenting.

47:22So that's why I have those two things a

47:24little bit different. Then we have your

47:28bio.

47:29Your bio is not about you, believe it or

47:32not. It's actually about who you want to

47:36follow you and you're going to tell them

47:38why they should follow you in your bio.

47:41Your bio is going to be a combination

47:45of your unique edge plus a call to

47:49action. Ideally to somewhere you own.

47:53Now I actually I don't want you to

47:57follow my example because this is the

48:01whole like do as I say not as I do thing

48:03because right now my strategy is not

48:06growth. I'm not trying to grow as a new

48:10content creator. I've already

48:11established my platforms. So my bio

48:14looks a little bit different than let's

48:16say you who are actively trying to grow

48:19and build a more established platform.

48:22We're actually not going to use my bio

48:24as an example but I'll show you how to

48:27apply this unique edge call to action

48:29combo. So what is a unique edge? Your

48:32unique edge is the one sentence that

48:36clearly explains why someone should

48:39follow you and what sets you apart from

48:43everyone else in your industry. It's

48:46similar to a mission statement but I

48:47feel like a mission statement is more

48:49about like you, who you're about, what

48:51your business is about and your values,

48:55your mission as a creator whereas your

48:57unique edge is kind of crafted to appeal

49:01to your audiences or your ideal

49:03followers' selfish mindset. You're

49:05trying to convince them with this

49:08sentence that they should follow you.

49:10This is going to describe who should

49:14follow you, how you can help them and

49:18what is like an instant result that they

49:22will get from following you right now.

49:26For example, let's do mine as an

49:28example.

49:29Who I help? Who is my content for? I'm

49:33going to say teaching aspiring content

49:36creators. What's the how? How do I help

49:39them? How to replace their 9-5 and

49:44what's the result in under 12 months

49:50with content creation. So if I am an

49:53aspiring content creator and I read that

49:55sentence, immediately I want to follow

49:58because it's telling me exactly what I'm

50:00going to gain from pressing the follow

50:03button. What result can I get? I can

50:05learn how to replace my 9-5 income in

50:08under 12 months. Heck yeah, I'm going to

50:09press the follow button. So that's an

50:11example of a unique edge. Let's do some

50:15examples from the other students that we

50:17had already talked about. So may erase

50:20this. Some examples.

50:23We have my student who was doing the

50:27home organization. This is her unique

50:31edge, helping busy moms organize their

50:33homes with simple budget-friendly

50:35systems that only need 10 minutes a day.

50:38The result is you can have a clean home

50:41in 10 minutes. That practical number of

50:43okay, I can do this in 10 minutes, super

50:46relatable. I have another student who

50:50she's an artist and she has like grown

50:52her own art business and so she wants on

50:55TikTok. So this is her unique edge

50:57that's currently in her TikTok bio, is

50:59helping you build your art business in

51:00100 days. Her freebie goes along with

51:03that 100-day format, too. I also have a

51:06student on Instagram. She's a

51:08bookstagrammer

51:10and so this is hers. Helping you find

51:13your next favorite read. She focuses

51:16solely on fantasy and romance and then

51:19called action, how to get free books. So

51:21we'll talk about the call to action in a

51:22second. These two, I didn't include the

51:24call to action. But that is kind of the

51:27framing of your unique edge. If you need

51:31a little bit more support writing it, I

51:34do have this little formula that you

51:37could try. See if this works for you. I

51:41help audience achieve result through

51:43method or time frame. I love the whole

51:45method time frame approach because I

51:47feel like that is what makes you stand

51:49out from everyone else in your industry.

51:51Also, you don't have to say help. It

51:52could say teach, inspire, educate, what

51:56have you. So that is your unique edge.

51:59Then you are going to layer that with a

52:02call to action. For me, I love to use a

52:06little emoji, but I don't know how to do

52:09it on the iPad, but I'll usually do like

52:11a finger pointing down or an arrow and

52:13then the call to action will say free

52:1612-month

52:18creator plan. With your call to action,

52:21again, ideally you are leading people to

52:25someplace you own because right now

52:27Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, you don't

52:29own those platforms. They could

52:30literally disappear overnight. We have

52:32seen that happen with TikTok. So you

52:35want to get them somewhere you own,

52:37which is an email list. We're going to

52:38talk about more about call to action,

52:40email list, freebies in a second. Let's

52:43do or jump to TikTok. With TikTok, you

52:47have limited space when it comes to your

52:50bio characters. On Instagram, you have

52:53150 characters and on TikTok, you're

52:56limited to 80 characters. So when I have

52:59my unique edge statement, I literally

53:02will just plug it into ChatGPT and I'll

53:05be like, "Hey, can you shorten this so

53:06that it fits in 80 character limit or

53:09even 30 characters if I want more space

53:11for things?" Because I know some people,

53:14I will say other bio strategies you can

53:17have. Some people, you will want to put

53:21an email in your bio because that is a

53:25great way for brands to find creators

53:28that accept collaborations or do PR

53:31opportunities. So if you're a content

53:33creator who wants to pursue the brand

53:34collaboration route, having space for an

53:37email address will be important. So

53:39that's one thing that you could do. But

53:41basically, I would work with ChatGPT to

53:45fit both the unique edge statement,

53:48email and call to action all within that

53:51character limit. So that is how you can

53:55apply it to TikTok. Same strategy, you

53:58still want the unique edge, which that

54:00one student who is helping you grow an

54:01art business in 100 days and then she

54:03had her 100-day guide as the call to

54:07action. Now with YouTube, YouTube is

54:10going to be a little bit different

54:11because the profile setup, it's

54:13different. You don't have the bio, the

54:16call to action because most people, they

54:18don't first land on your channel, they

54:20first land on a video. So your strategy

54:24is actually going to be focusing on

54:26packaging each and every video you post.

54:29So your strategy, most of your efforts

54:31will go into the title and thumbnail

54:34when creating the video. There are

54:36strategies you can do to make sure you

54:39have SEO implemented

54:42in your description, in your channel

54:44tags, how you set up your account. I

54:46actually have a full video on my YouTube

54:48channel. It's completely free. It's a

54:5020-minute tutorial teaching you how to

54:52set up your YouTube channel. So I'll put

54:54that in the card above and I'll also

54:56link it in the workbook so it's easy for

54:58you to just find if you're following

54:59along in the workbook and that'll help

55:01you set up your channel. But then um

55:05coming up with video ideas, packaging,

55:07that's actually going to be more of the

55:08efforts for getting people to find you,

55:10discover you and getting them to follow

55:11you. It's really what you're putting

55:13inside your videos. So this whole

55:15nameplate, bio, call to action, unique

55:17edge doesn't apply much to YouTube.

55:21Setting up your bio and profile is so so

55:24so important. I have two examples of the

55:28power of setting up a profile with

55:31strategy and intention. One, I have this

55:34student, she was an aesthetician?

55:38Aesthetician? She did lashes. She had

55:41great content strategy, but she wasn't

55:42getting reach. And so I took a look at

55:44her profile, I was like, "You need to

55:45change your bio. You need to add a bold

55:48search-friendly part to your nameplate

55:51and you need to update your bio to be a

55:52little bit more specific and explain why

55:54someone should press that follow

55:55button." All she did was change her bio.

55:57She didn't change anything else. She

55:59didn't change her posting strategy,

56:00videos, nothing. Within 24 hours,

56:04immediately started getting more

56:05followers because she was easily

56:07discoverable in her industry and it

56:10explained clearly, her bio explained

56:12clearly why people should follow her.

56:13Just from changing your profile, she

56:15started getting more followers. She

56:16didn't have to post anything to get

56:18followers. It was just from her

56:20positioning. So that is so powerful.

56:22Also had a student, we were working

56:24together and again, your bio setup will

56:27always vary depending on what your goals

56:29are. With this student specifically,

56:31they were posting kind of for two

56:34audiences. So they had creators and

56:37filmmakers, videographers, but also they

56:41wanted to be hired on set as a DP or to

56:45be like a cameraman on site or producer

56:49on site. So we had to make sure the bio

56:52appealed to both of those things. So we

56:54made sure to put DP in the bio and email

56:59for contact and literally, I'm not

57:02kidding, the next day somebody reached

57:04out and said, "Hey, I need help with a

57:05shoot. What's your day rate?" Literally,

57:08your bio is so important and people

57:10overlook this. They're like, "Oh,

57:12whatever. Let me just type whatever I

57:13want." But you got to go back to like,

57:16what are your goals? What do you do? You

57:17want brand collaborations? You do? Put

57:19your email address. Do you want people

57:20to follow you? Tell them why they should

57:22follow you. It is not about you, your

57:24life, your interest. It's about what

57:26someone else can gain and if you want to

57:29be hired for something or you do UGC,

57:32say UGC with your email address. Say

57:34what you want to be hired for, what you

57:36want to be known for. Just please,

57:39follow my advice, set up your bio the

57:41way that I'm telling you to and you'll

57:42see amazing results. Thank you. Come

Email List and Freebie System

57:45again. Have a great day. Okay, welcome

57:47back.

57:48>> [laughter]

57:48>> Let's talk about email lists because

57:50I've talked a few times about call to

57:52actions and getting people somewhere you

57:54own and that place is an email list. If

57:57you are unfamiliar, an email list is a

58:00list of email contacts you own because

58:03each of those people opted in, raised

58:05their hand, said, "Yes, I want you to

58:07contact me with XYZ. I'm going to give

58:11you my email address in exchange for

58:13said freebie." So you grow a list of

58:16contacts where you have 100% control of

58:18the algorithm. Anytime you email your

58:21email list, you have a 100% reach. It's

58:23not like a 3% engagement rate. Like no,

58:25you reach 100% of the people that are on

58:28your list. Most of you will be rolling

58:30your eyes at this whole email list thing

58:32and I know that because that was me. I

58:34remember when I was growing as a content

58:36creator, I had 2-hour commutes from LA

58:39to San Diego cuz I was working in San

58:41Diego but living in LA at the time and I

58:43would listen to like a Jenna Kutcher's

58:45podcast. What was it called? Oh, Gold

58:47Digger podcast, Influencer podcast from

58:50Julie Solomon. I was listening to all

58:52these content creator ones. Money Made

58:55Marketing Made Easy, Amy Porterfield.

58:58She recently changed it to the Amy

58:59Porterfield Show, but I would listen to

59:00these podcasts and they would always

59:02say, "Start an email list." And I was

59:03like, "No, thank you. I don't want to be

59:05a content creator. I don't want to be a

59:06blogger. I don't want to grow a

59:08business. I want to be a content

59:09creator. I want to be an influencer. I

59:11don't need an email list." And I was

59:13wrong.

59:14>> [laughter]

59:14>> I think every single person can benefit

59:18from having an email list. Content

59:20creator, whether you think you need it

59:22or not, it takes less than 24 hours to

59:25set up. So why not do it? What's your

59:27excuse?

59:29What's your excuse? Why not? Why not?

59:31Why the heck not? Whether you think

59:33you're going to need it or not, it's so

59:35nice to have because what if TikTok goes

59:37kapoof and all of a sudden you have to

59:39reach your people, your followers, and

59:41you can't cuz TikTok doesn't exist. You

59:44got an email list, you could be like,

59:45"Hey guys, this is so crazy. TikTok got

59:47banned and now blah blah blah blah

59:48blah." Like you can talk to your people

59:50because you have an email list. I want

59:51to tell you a story. I tell this story

59:52all the time, so if you've heard it I

59:54had this student and we started working

59:56together, we were working one-on-one and

59:59I asked her what is her goal? And she's

1:00:01like, "I want to hit 10,000 followers by

1:00:03the end of the year." And I said, "Yes,

1:00:06let's do it. We can make it happen.

1:00:08First things first, let's do your email

1:00:10list." And she was like, "I said I want

1:00:12to grow 100,000 followers on Instagram.

1:00:15This this has nothing to do with

1:00:16Instagram. What do you mean?" And I was

1:00:18like, "Just trust me. You can do it in

1:00:21this weekend. It's going to be really

1:00:23easy, really fast. Just set it up and

1:00:25we'll jump to Instagram, okay? Just set

1:00:27it up and then we'll teach Instagram."

1:00:28She's like, "Fine, I'll set it up."

1:00:30Literally the next day she's like,

1:00:30"Okay, I'm done. Can we do Instagram

1:00:32now?" I was like, "Yes, great, perfect.

1:00:34Let's put your freebie in your bio."

1:00:36Thinking nothing of it, now it's growing

1:00:37on Instagram. Well,

1:00:38sure enough, not only did she hit 10,000

1:00:40followers, but she hit up to like 30,000

1:00:42followers and her email list was growing

1:00:45because her account was growing. So, as

1:00:47she was growing followers, she was

1:00:49getting hundreds of people signing up

1:00:51for her email list and again, she didn't

1:00:54know what this was going to be for, but

1:00:56hey, it was growing. Wow, yay, love

1:00:59that. And then, after she hit that goal,

1:01:02we hit that goal, I think it was 30,000

1:01:03followers, she came to me a few months

1:01:05later and she was like, "Okay, my next

1:01:06goal, I think I want to offer coaching.

1:01:09I think I want to like work one-on-one

1:01:12with people." And I said, "Let's email

1:01:15your email list. Let's send the email

1:01:17out when you're ready to start coaching

1:01:18and open it up to the people who are

1:01:20warm already and expecting to hear from

1:01:23you anyway." And so she was like,

1:01:25"Cool." She works on the coaching, she

1:01:27figures out the program, and we send the

1:01:29email to her email

1:01:30and it sells out. And with that one

1:01:32email, she replaced her corporate job,

1:01:35quit, put in her two weeks, and ever

1:01:39since then, this was in 2020 when we

1:01:42first worked together, she has been a

1:01:44full-time content creator and has not

1:01:45gone back to the corporate world because

1:01:48this is what she wants to do. That was

1:01:50what she wanted to do and it was

1:01:51possible because of an email list. Okay,

1:01:55I love email lists.

1:01:56Um, I used to not, but now I do. So, I

1:01:58can't tell you how many students have

1:02:00didn't know I was going through the BSP

1:02:02model and you told us to do an email

1:02:04list and I didn't want to, but because

1:02:06I'm in the BSP model, I did and I'm so

1:02:08glad I did because blah blah blah blah

1:02:09blah." And so, it's worth it. Thank you.

1:02:12So, growing your email list, basically,

1:02:16you are going to offer something, some

1:02:19sort of free-ish

1:02:22that your audience wants and in exchange

1:02:25for that free-ish, they are going to

1:02:27give you

1:02:28their beautiful junk email.

1:02:31I'm kidding. Actually, maybe maybe they

1:02:33will give you a junk email, I don't

1:02:35know. I do that sometimes. But they're

1:02:36going to give you an email address. When

1:02:38they give you their email address, you

1:02:41will be growing your email list and it's

1:02:44going to be great because then you could

1:02:45start sending

1:02:46emails, send little notifications to

1:02:49people and it's going to be so much fun.

1:02:51You actually don't have to send emails

1:02:52right away or nurture the email list,

1:02:53but you still want this like list of

1:02:56people that you can contact at any time

1:03:00ready to go just in case. Now, this

1:03:02product right here is called a freebie

1:03:05or an opt-in or a lead magnet. People

1:03:09refer to it as different things. For the

1:03:11sake of this video, we're going to call

1:03:12it a freebie. It's a free thing of

1:03:15value, freebie, that they will get when

1:03:18they give you their email address. There

1:03:20are different types of freebies. You

1:03:22have You have like a digital product.

1:03:26You have templates. You could create a

1:03:29planner.

1:03:31You could make a, I don't know, a cheat

1:03:33sheet, some sort of checklist.

1:03:37Honestly, a mini course can still be a

1:03:40freebie or like a webinar. In a sense,

1:03:44this video is a mini course, but along

1:03:48with the mini course, you have the

1:03:49workbook that goes with it and that is

1:03:51the freebie that goes with this mini

1:03:53course. So, that's a digital product, a

1:03:56workbook. Lots of different ways to give

1:03:59free value. You can even do like a quiz,

1:04:02another lead magnet. The purpose of the

1:04:05freebie or the best way to create one is

1:04:08to solve a problem that your audience

1:04:12has with one simple downloadable. Solve

1:04:15a problem, create a solution. My first

1:04:19freebie

1:04:20was

1:04:22VSCO

1:04:23editing

1:04:25templates or like formulas. I created

1:04:28this YouTube video that went viral for

1:04:30me at the time

1:04:31and it was had to create your own

1:04:33Instagram aesthetic and edit your videos

1:04:35and then I created like a series of like

1:04:37how to edit your photos to be fall

1:04:39vibes, how to edit your photos for

1:04:42summer vibes. So, like I created a

1:04:45series and then with each video I put

1:04:47out, I created VSCO templates where

1:04:50somebody could download it and then

1:04:51follow the VSCO formula. VSCO's an

1:04:54editing app, by the way, and they could

1:04:56get the same results for editing. So,

1:04:58that was the first freebie I made. It

1:05:00solved the problem of making editing

1:05:02easy. The pain point is don't know how

1:05:04to edit, don't know how to make my

1:05:06photos look aesthetic. Solution, here.

1:05:08Just follow these templates, this VSCO

1:05:12preset, and you will have this type of

1:05:16editing or this type of photo. So, that

1:05:18was my first freebie I ever created. The

1:05:20question is, how do you create a

1:05:22freebie? What the heck do you create a

1:05:24freebie on? What to do? For me, what I

1:05:27did was I went to Pinterest and I looked

1:05:31up different content pillars or topics

1:05:34that I thought my audience would be

1:05:35interested in. So, I think what I had

1:05:38looked up at the time, it was like photo

1:05:41editing and then apps, ideas, iPhone

1:05:45formulas. Thought that was interesting

1:05:48and so I just kind of scrolled and saw,

1:05:51"Oh, people have like different presets.

1:05:53What if I made like a bundle of these

1:05:56presets to light and airy, a fall vibe?"

1:06:01So, what if I made a bundle? And that's

1:06:02kind of the strategy I went through. You

1:06:04could even do, if you're in, let's just

1:06:07do like me right now, Instagram tips.

1:06:11Going to search this. See what Pinterest

1:06:13is showing me. Posting guide, starting

1:06:16brand new Instagram account, here's what

1:06:17your first nine posts should be. So,

1:06:19this is like quick downloadable, your

1:06:22first nine posts done for you. Seven

1:06:25quick Instagram hacks to boost your

1:06:26reach. How to go viral on Instagram. How

1:06:28to start blogging on Instagram.

1:06:30Instagram for beginners. When should I

1:06:31post? So, how could I turn this into

1:06:33like a bundle of like a free guide for

1:06:36content creators? If we are in the home

1:06:39organization

1:06:41industry, we're going to just like look

1:06:43up home organization. 13 easy home

1:06:45organization ideas that actually work. I

1:06:48want it to be a little bit more

1:06:49specific. What do we do? Hacks. Here's a

1:06:52little cheat sheet, so a cleaning

1:06:54schedule planner. That could be a great

1:06:56easy printable one. Cleaning checklist.

1:06:59That could be a simple freebie. So, you

1:07:02can use Pinterest to get inspiration.

1:07:04You could also go to other competitors

1:07:07or niche neighbors. See what sort of

1:07:09free offers they're offering and see if

1:07:11that resonates with you, if you want to

1:07:13create your own version or branch off of

1:07:15it. What I obviously would never copy

1:07:17somebody word for word, but you're just

1:07:19getting inspiration. When you have that

1:07:22idea of what you want to create, you are

1:07:25going to go to Canva templates and first

1:07:29you could literally look up the

1:07:31template. Like if you want to do a

1:07:33checklist, you could look up checklist.

1:07:36Canva has plenty of free options.

1:07:38Ideally, you find one without a crown.

1:07:41This one has a crown, that means you

1:07:42have to pay for it and this one's nice,

1:07:45you could click on that, change the

1:07:47branding to match your own style. If

1:07:50it's more of like a workbook, you could

1:07:52type in workbook. Search. Already done

1:07:56for you. I need one without the crown.

1:07:58This is 14 pages. I like the simplicity

1:08:01of this one though. So, let's customize

1:08:03this template. Now, we're actually going

1:08:05to create the freebie together. You're

1:08:08going to change the colors to match your

1:08:10own branding. Make sure to swap out all

1:08:13the text, images, but usually, no matter

1:08:16what freebie you were offering, whether

1:08:19it's a checklist or VSCO templates, the

1:08:22format that I want you to follow is

1:08:25this. I want you to have the cover image

1:08:28or the

1:08:29title. This is going to be freebie

1:08:33title, okay? So, you're going to title

1:08:35page.

1:08:36Then,

1:08:37I do want you to have a about page, but

1:08:41this isn't about you necessarily. This

1:08:45is more about the freebie. It's like an

1:08:46overview of like, "Hey, this is how the

1:08:48freebie came to be. This is what you

1:08:49will get after using it or this is how

1:08:52to use it the best way. Here are tips

1:08:54for how to get the most out of this

1:08:56freebie." So, it's like, "Hey, I'm

1:08:58Milli." You do want a picture of

1:09:00yourself to create that con- connection,

1:09:03but also people want to remember who did

1:09:05they get this from? So, that when

1:09:07they're scrolling online again and they

1:09:08see a post from you, they're like, "Oh,

1:09:10yeah, that was the girl that made the

1:09:11VSCO templates." So, having a picture of

1:09:13yourself on this front page is very

1:09:15helpful. And again, it's not about you,

1:09:17it's about the freebie, how to get the

1:09:19most from that freebie. And then right

1:09:21after it, this is just one page, keep it

1:09:23simple, then you're going to get

1:09:25straight into the goods. If it's a long

1:09:27workbook, having a table contents is

1:09:29great. If it's not, just delete table of

1:09:31contents and get straight to the point.

1:09:33Do the checklist, do the planner,

1:09:35whatever it is. And at the end, if you

1:09:38can, you could do like a little thank

1:09:39you and have your socials listed

1:09:42everywhere. So, mistakes that I see

1:09:44happen, I see people getting a little

1:09:46too messy with the branding or with the

1:09:51layout. So, they'll put so many words

1:09:56and then they'll make have like all the

1:09:58words

1:10:02touch the edges, which just makes it

1:10:05look so cluttered, so overwhelming to

1:10:10read. So, that that's a little much,

1:10:12it's a little overwhelming. So, always

1:10:15use Canva's guidelines.

1:10:18You see that purple square? I never like

1:10:21to put the text outside of the purple

1:10:23square. That's usually what I'm focusing

1:10:26on and I'm spacing things out, so it's

1:10:28there's a lot of like breathing room

1:10:31with your freebies. So, when in doubt,

1:10:34simple is best. Once you're done

1:10:37actually creating your freebie, you're

1:10:39going to download it as a PDF. If it's

1:10:43something that you want your audience to

1:10:45print and use, like a checklist, make

1:10:47sure everything's black and white

1:10:48because most people

1:10:50are going to print in black and white,

1:10:51they might not have color. So, just keep

1:10:52everything simple. And then you're going

1:10:54to download it, make sure you title it

1:10:57and download as a PDF. Okay. Once it's

1:11:01downloaded, the simplest tool to

1:11:03actually deliver your freebie to your

1:11:06audience is going to be Stan. I freaking

1:11:09love Stan. It's literally your

1:11:11all-in-one platform for content creation

1:11:14or as a content creator because Stan,

1:11:16this is your link in bio tool. So, when

1:11:18you have a call to action, for example,

1:11:20on my Instagram, my call to action

1:11:2312-month creator plan, it directs people

1:11:25to my Stan store, kind of like a link in

1:11:27bio. And so, people go to my Stan store

1:11:31and let's just click on my Stan store

1:11:34and this is what they'll see. This is

1:11:35obviously iPad and then on Instagram

1:11:37it'll like scroll or on mobile it'll

1:11:39scroll. So, these are all the different

1:11:41things that I have set up. And the cool

1:11:42thing is all of these people can access

1:11:45directly within Stan. What I mean by

1:11:47that is you as the Stan user, you can

1:11:52collect emails

1:11:53by offering a freebie. You can sell a

1:11:56digital product and make money directly

1:11:58through Stan. You could do URLs, if you

1:12:02have like an Amazon storefront, you

1:12:03could set up an affiliate link. This is

1:12:05just the um iPad app, but on desktop,

1:12:09you're able to set up courses and sell

1:12:11courses. You could offer webinars. You

1:12:13can set up a membership or community.

1:12:15So, any way you can think about making

1:12:17money as a content creator, you can

1:12:19actually do directly through Stan. So,

1:12:21that's why I love them and you have the

1:12:22email list option and you can email your

1:12:24email list through Stan, too. So, we're

1:12:27going to choose collect emails. This is

1:12:30where you would put the title to your

1:12:32freebie, subtitle, button. We're going

1:12:35to upload our file.

1:12:37document

1:12:39Canva. This is the file.

1:12:42open

1:12:44And then you press publish and it's on

1:12:46your link in bio. It's literally that

1:12:47easy. Boom shakalaka, you're done. On

1:12:51desktop, you'll have more customization

1:12:53for like the landing page or the email

1:12:55that gets sent when somebody downloads

1:12:57it. You can customize that email. That's

1:12:59how you set that up on Stan store. With

1:13:02your freebie title, cuz you're going to

1:13:04put your freebie as a call to action in

1:13:06your bio you want it to be like juicy

1:13:10and like people need it, you know? It's

1:13:13not just how to organize your home. You

1:13:16know, that's vague, that's broad. It's

1:13:17kind of like the unique edge where you

1:13:19want to get so specific on the

1:13:21transformation or the unique method that

1:13:23you're using. So, I have like the

1:13:2512-month creator plan. It's basically

1:13:27what it is. It teaches you how to become

1:13:28a content creator in 12 months. What you

1:13:31do every single month working towards

1:13:33your creator plan. So, I have again in

1:13:36the workbook I there are prompts that

1:13:37you can plug into your AI bot of

1:13:41choosing and talk to chat GPT or Claude,

1:13:46whatever you're using, to work on like

1:13:48that perfect freebie option and how to

1:13:51craft it. And then of course, like okay,

1:13:53well, how do I fit the title in to like

1:13:55less than 50 characters or what should I

1:13:57write for the subtitle? So, all of those

1:14:00are strategies that go into choosing

1:14:02your freebie, too. It's like making sure

1:14:04you have a strong title.

1:14:10and call to action that gets people

1:14:13actually onto your list. And sometimes

1:14:15you'll make a freebie. This has happened

1:14:17with a student before where we made a

1:14:18really good freebie and we knew it was

1:14:20going to be powerful for their audience

1:14:22and they launched it and like 2 weeks

1:14:24later didn't get any downloadables.

1:14:26So, we just changed the packaging, the

1:14:29title of it. And then we got like maybe

1:14:31a few more. So, we updated the title

1:14:33again. And finally, after like two title

1:14:36changes, people finally started

1:14:38downloading the freebie. So, don't give

1:14:40up if right away a freebie doesn't work.

1:14:42You just might have to restructure the

1:14:44title or the packaging of it a little

1:14:46bit before you start getting traction.

1:14:47So, you will be putting your freebie

1:14:50call to action in your bio. And also,

1:14:53when it comes to YouTube, where you're

1:14:55going to be putting your freebie is

1:14:56actually going to be in not only the

1:14:59description

1:15:01of your video, but also, you're going to

1:15:04put it as the pinned comment. So, so

1:15:07long as it's relevant to the video,

1:15:10anytime your the videos that you're

1:15:13posting connect to the freebie that you

1:15:15have, you're going to put that freebie

1:15:17in your description and pinned comment.

1:15:20And then that's how you can start

1:15:21building your email list on YouTube. You

1:15:24could also put it as the main link. We

1:15:27have five links here. I have different

1:15:30link options, but the main link is the

1:15:33place that you want to direct the most

1:15:35traffic to. So, you could also have it

1:15:36as your main link. And we are just

1:15:38moving on to scale phase two. Now, we're

1:15:42in the like content creation phase of

1:15:46your journey. You have the brand

1:15:47clarity, you've updated your bio, your

1:15:49profile. You're ready to direct traffic

1:15:51to your profile because it's set up for

1:15:54best follower conversions. Now, let's

1:15:56talk about where you might be at with

1:16:00your content. And each and every one of

1:16:02you will probably be in a different

1:16:04phase of brand evolution or content

1:16:07evolution. First, we have phase one.

1:16:11This is somebody who is just getting

1:16:13started and you maybe did that brand

1:16:15brainstorming for the very first time.

1:16:16You've never posted content and you're

1:16:18still trying to get some clarity of like

1:16:20who the heck do you want to be as a

1:16:22content creator. So, you are are in that

1:16:24throwing spaghetti at the phase with

1:16:26your content. Usually, there is no

1:16:29strategy here other than let me start

1:16:32exercising my content creator muscles.

1:16:35Let me figure out how to film, where to

1:16:38film. Do I need gear? How the heck do I

1:16:40edit? What editing apps do I use? Maybe

1:16:43you're just getting comfortable in front

1:16:44of the camera. So, this is like those

1:16:46first what's it called? Growing pains of

1:16:49okay, I'm just going to

1:16:51throw spaghetti at the wall, see what

1:16:53sticks, see what feels authentic to me

1:16:56when it comes to like what kind of

1:16:58content I want to create, how do I in

1:17:01implement content creation into my

1:17:02day-to-day lifestyle, where does it fit,

1:17:05where can I improve? So, this is the

1:17:06throwing spaghetti at the wall phase.

1:17:08Next, we have the brand clarity phase.

1:17:13We don't really know how long the

1:17:15spaghetti at the wall phase lasts. It's

1:17:18different for everybody. might be

1:17:19throwing spaghetti at the wall for a

1:17:21year. Or it might just be like 2 weeks

1:17:23and you're like, boom, I got it. So,

1:17:25this phase could last a while and over

1:17:27time as you're posting, you get that

1:17:29brand clarity. When you know what you

1:17:32want to do, who you want to create

1:17:33content for and who you want to be as a

1:17:35content creator and you start adding the

1:17:38unique edge into your bio and creating

1:17:40with more clarity, this is when feel

1:17:43things feel like, okay, balls finally

1:17:45rolling. There might not be like a lot

1:17:47of advanced strategy here, but at least

1:17:49you're posting with clarity and you're

1:17:51in alignment with, okay, I know what I

1:17:54want to do in in my content creator

1:17:57journey and I know where I want to be in

1:17:585 years from now. Our next phase, this

1:18:01is going to be clarity. When clarity

1:18:05meets strategy. This is the phase where

1:18:08you're like, okay, I'm going to start

1:18:10taking things more seriously. I want to

1:18:13figure out what to post, how to post,

1:18:16how often to post. You're going to start

1:18:18doing more intentional content research.

1:18:21You're going to be paying attention to

1:18:23your analytics a little bit more. You're

1:18:25going to start figuring out what kind of

1:18:26videos get more views versus follows

1:18:29versus engagement. So, you're going to

1:18:31start being a little bit more curious

1:18:33about how to improve your content in all

1:18:36these different areas and maybe you're

1:18:38diving more into educational content and

1:18:40really wanting to figure out those like,

1:18:43okay, what are what are these advanced

1:18:44practices or these next best practices

1:18:47that I can do to improve my content and

1:18:49add strategy on top of my clarity. This

1:18:52is kind of the stage where you'll notice

1:18:54you're starting to find your audience.

1:18:57It might not be like viral growth, but

1:18:59you'll notice things start clicking with

1:19:02your audience. Here, things are clicking

1:19:05for you up here. You're like, okay,

1:19:08yeah, we're getting clarity. But here is

1:19:10where things start clicking for your

1:19:11audience. You're getting a little bit

1:19:13more comments. You're getting a little

1:19:14bit more followers. You're starting to

1:19:16understand, ooh, this is on the nose. I

1:19:18think this is the type of content my

1:19:19audience likes. So, you're starting to

1:19:21get more clarity when it comes to

1:19:23strategy. Then, phase four is your video

1:19:28packaging. This is more than just, oh,

1:19:31what sort of videos do I post? Let me

1:19:33rotate between content pillars. This is

1:19:36leaning into the psychology of crafting

1:19:39your video. You're thinking more about

1:19:42the hook. How do you capture someone's

1:19:44attention in the first 3 seconds? The

1:19:46editing strategy of, okay, now that I

1:19:49caught their attention, how do I keep

1:19:51their attention and retain them to watch

1:19:54100% of the video all the way through?

1:19:56You're thinking about, okay, if I want

1:19:58to deliver this piece of content, what's

1:20:01the best method to do that? Is it

1:20:03talking to the camera? Is it voice over?

1:20:05Is it green screen by by sharing an

1:20:07article? Is it a trending audio like,

1:20:10you're thinking more about, okay, how do

1:20:11I package this in the best way to

1:20:14deliver it for my audience? So, there's

1:20:17this next level of advanced strategy.

1:20:20Here is where I see people going to like

1:20:23that 100k mark. Here, you're probably

1:20:27getting 1 to 10,000 followers. And then,

1:20:30as you go to video packaging, you're

1:20:33probably starting to get upwards to

1:20:36100,000 followers. When you get when you

1:20:38really understand video packaging,

1:20:39you're like, cool. I've crafted videos.

1:20:41I know how to do I know the psychology.

1:20:43This is when you go to that 100k mark,

1:20:45maybe 50 I'll say 50 to 100k mark. And

1:20:50then, we have five. This is getting into

1:20:54brand recognition. This is when you're

1:20:58starting to dabble with the branding of

1:21:02it all. What people associate with

1:21:05branding and really fine-tuning, these

1:21:07are my fonts. These are my colors. This

1:21:10is the text animation that I use. These

1:21:12are all the sound bites that I use in

1:21:14every video. This is how I always edit

1:21:16the intro to my vlogs. You're starting

1:21:18to figure out what makes your content

1:21:22you. Very you-coded as a content

1:21:26creator. You're realizing, oh, my messy

1:21:30bun, that is my signature look. You're

1:21:33realizing, oh, I love coffee. I'm always

1:21:35going to have coffee and hold my coffee

1:21:37in all my videos. That is brand

1:21:39recognition. You're starting to identify

1:21:41these little things that people can

1:21:43start associating with you. Colors, your

1:21:45location, where you're filming. If

1:21:48you're holding a pen while you're doing

1:21:50your videos. You're starting to layer in

1:21:53those elements of you and starting to

1:21:55recognize that for yourself of like, oh,

1:21:58this is how people can start like

1:22:00immediately recognizing me. Even like

1:22:03color grading or the filters presets

1:22:05that you're using on your videos, that

1:22:07could be part of brand recognition. And

1:22:09then, after you get clarity on this one,

1:22:13that is finally when you have created

1:22:17like your personal brand. You've got it

1:22:19nailed down. Usually, this phase here

1:22:22and here, that is when people are

1:22:24getting up to the 1 million follower

1:22:27point because they have their personal

1:22:29brand dialed in. They have clarity on

1:22:32everything. They got the strategy that

1:22:34feels in alignment with them. So, this

1:22:36is usually the evolution that I see

1:22:39creators go through when it comes to

1:22:41their content. And it's funny because I

1:22:43feel like when a lot of content creators

1:22:45start or my students are starting, they

1:22:47want to start here or here. And they

1:22:51want to like, all right, I need to dial

1:22:52in on my fonts and colors. And I'm like,

1:22:55you can do that, but they're going to

1:22:57change. And they they always will

1:22:59change. Your content is always going to

1:23:01evolve over time. And this clarity

1:23:04usually only happens as you're taking

1:23:07action on all of these things. So, I

1:23:11don't want you to go in with these

1:23:12expectations of like, okay, I'm going to

1:23:14make videos and they're going to be

1:23:15perfect. I'm going to have my personal

1:23:18brand from the jump. Like, it's okay to

1:23:21not have the personal brand from the

1:23:24get-go. Some people will because they

1:23:26maybe you've been watching this and

1:23:27you've been here for a few years and

1:23:29you're just like, okay, I need to like

1:23:32jump to here and you're ready to dive

1:23:34into video packaging. So, like

1:23:35everyone's going to be somewhere

1:23:36different, but I think it can help take

1:23:40a lot of pressure off of your shoulders

1:23:43knowing like, it's okay to not have it

1:23:45all figured out. It's okay to not know a

1:23:48hook or hook strategy yet or how to

1:23:51package a video properly and deliver it

1:23:54the right way. Like, you don't need to

1:23:56know all these things because first,

1:23:57you're here. And then, you're going to

1:23:59start getting clarity here. So, there's

1:24:01this evolution that happens organically

1:24:03as you're posting. And so, you'll

1:24:07probably hit all of these markers at

1:24:08some point, but wanted to kind of

1:24:10visually show you where you'll be. And

1:24:12now we kind of talk about each of these

1:24:14stages and tips to kind of get you

1:24:17through each of these stages so that you

1:24:19have that personal brand clarity. And

1:24:21not only clarity, but I I mean, we all

1:24:24love a good 1 million follower number.

1:24:26So, not only is this going to help you

1:24:28with like clarity on your brand, but as

1:24:30you go through it, you have these

1:24:32follower milestones that you will

1:24:34naturally hit. Not with like secret

1:24:38hacks of, use these hashtags. Not

1:24:40because of

1:24:41hacks, but because you understand your

1:24:45content. You understand your audience.

1:24:47And honestly, content and brand clarity,

1:24:50that is what brings followers. Not

1:24:53little hacks and tips and tricks. So,

1:24:56I'm going to start with some basics from

1:24:58stage one. I feel like most people

1:25:00watching will actually be in stage three

1:25:03where you're like, okay, I want those

1:25:05intentional clarity strategy layering.

1:25:09And then, phase four with like video

1:25:11packaging. So, I feel like most people

1:25:12will be there. But, I do get a lot of

1:25:14students who find BSP from YouTube and

1:25:16they're they're also in stage one. So, I

1:25:19do want to spend a little bit of time

1:25:20talking about some basics that I think

1:25:22will be helpful for anybody who is at

1:25:24these beginning stages. I didn't want to

1:25:26just like breeze right by them. If you

1:25:28have learned something new so far, be

1:25:29sure to give this video thumbs up

1:25:30because that's going to tell YouTube

1:25:32that other creators like yourself will

1:25:35find this video extremely valuable. And

1:25:37if you learn two new things by the end

1:25:39of this video, I want you to consider

1:25:41subscribing because it is simply a great

1:25:44way, free way to support me, my channel,

1:25:47my business. And it allows me to

1:25:49continue to make content like this for

1:25:52you and content creators every single

1:25:55week on my YouTube channel. So, consider

1:25:57engaging with this video in any way you

1:25:59can. Send it to a friend or creator that

1:26:02you know that you think might find it

1:26:04valuable. And just wanted to do that

1:26:07little call out before moving on. Let's

1:26:10talk about getting comfortable in front

1:26:12of the camera

1:26:14cuz I feel like that's something a lot

1:26:16of creators on TikTok struggle with. The

1:26:20one thing that you could do to help

1:26:22yourself getting comfortable in front of

1:26:23the camera is film one thing every day.

1:26:28Just turn that into a habit. Film 1

1:26:31second of your life every single day. I

1:26:33have an app literally called 1 Second

1:26:35Every Day. And over the past 2 years, I

1:26:37just record 1 second of my life every

1:26:39single day. Sometimes I'm in it,

1:26:41sometimes I'm not in it. And it just

1:26:42gets me into that habit of pressing

1:26:44record. And it could be the most mundane

1:26:47things. Like, sometimes I'll just record

1:26:49myself doing the dishes or myself doing

1:26:51laundry or I just get a little shot of

1:26:54my YouTube setup or my coffee or my

1:26:56food. I want you to start filming

1:26:59yourself every single day. Ideally, it

1:27:01starts with one thing every day. And

1:27:04then over time, it's film yourself doing

1:27:07one task every day. You could talk to

1:27:09the camera, you could not talk to the

1:27:10camera. Just getting into that habit is

1:27:13going to be that first barrier wall to

1:27:15break. And it's not with the intention

1:27:17to post. You never have to post

1:27:19anything, but just practicing setting up

1:27:21your camera, pressing record, getting in

1:27:23front of it. If you do that every single

1:27:25day for like 2 weeks, by the end of the

1:27:272 weeks, you're going to be like, okay,

1:27:29this is feeling less intimidating. Let's

1:27:31take it up a notch. And then, you could

1:27:32like practice talking to the camera

1:27:34again without the intention to post.

1:27:35Just practicing. And so, that's just

1:27:37like one thing that I say, just start

1:27:40filming one thing in your life every

1:27:43single day. Move that to filming

1:27:45yourself doing something every day. And

1:27:48then, you'll have a little bit more

1:27:50confidence to then film talking to the

1:27:52camera. And you don't have to talk to

1:27:54the camera every day, but that is kind

1:27:55of how you get a little bit comfortable

1:27:57in front of the camera. When it comes to

1:27:59let's talk about gear. Really, honestly,

1:28:03all you need is your phone. It could be

1:28:05I I put iPhone cuz I have an iPhone or

1:28:07an Android, whatever the heck you have,

1:28:09use your phone. My first few YouTube

1:28:10videos, I used my phone, filmed and

1:28:12edited and posted on my phone. So, you

1:28:14don't need fancy equipment. One of my

1:28:17favorite quotes is from Arthur Ashe. I

1:28:20believe he was a like legendary tennis

1:28:23player. It was, start where you are, use

1:28:26what you have, and do what you can. And

1:28:29that is like the mentality that I that I

1:28:31want you to go into content creation

1:28:33with because believe it or not, I think

1:28:34100% of my content on TikTok for my

1:28:37personal TikTok, all phone. Never touch

1:28:40my camera. With my business, I'll go

1:28:43back and forth between phone and camera.

1:28:45If it's a brand collab, I'll definitely

1:28:46without the camera. If it's not some

1:28:49it's usually my phone. Some of the time,

1:28:51I'm just using my phone. No fancy tripod

1:28:54mic setup. And then, what I like to do

1:28:57is as you hit certain milestones, you

1:28:59could kind of like reward yourself with

1:29:02gear. So, one of the first things that I

1:29:04did I after I hit I think it was 10,000

1:29:06followers, that's when I got my very

1:29:09first tripod. So, when I hit 10,000

1:29:11followers on Instagram, I invested in a

1:29:13tripod. And then, when I got like my

1:29:15first brand collab, that's when I

1:29:17invested into a mic. When my YouTube

1:29:20channel got monetized, that's when I

1:29:23bought my like first YouTuber camera.

1:29:26So, after my YouTube channel got

1:29:28monetized, that's when I got a camera.

1:29:30Now, when it comes to your phone, let me

1:29:31actually just pull this out real quick

1:29:35because I'm sure this will be helpful

1:29:36for you. Camera settings, we're going to

1:29:38go here.

1:29:39We're going to go to our camera for

1:29:42video.

1:29:43I typically film at 1080p

1:29:4730 frames per second. And I do 1080p

1:29:49because across platforms, Instagram,

1:29:52TikTok, YouTube, short-form content,

1:29:55auto defaults 1080 is the format that

1:30:00those platforms, they're already at

1:30:021080p. So, I don't do 4K. I don't think

1:30:04my content needs 4K. So, I will do

1:30:081080p. If you want to do 4K because you

1:30:10have the memory for 4K and you want that

1:30:15crispness, you absolutely can do 4K at

1:30:1830 frames per second. Just make sure on

1:30:20whatever platform you're uploading to,

1:30:23there's an option where you can choose

1:30:25upload at highest quality. If that's not

1:30:28checked, your videos will look blurry

1:30:31because the compressor, when you go to

1:30:34upload a video like on 4K on Instagram,

1:30:37they have their compressor that'll

1:30:38automatically compress your file to

1:30:401080p if you don't have that checked.

1:30:43So, that's why I just keep it safe. I

1:30:45always do 1080p. And then here, I like

1:30:49the grid, level, and mirror on. So,

1:30:52those three I like on. Then I'm always

1:30:54filming with the back camera. Takes some

1:30:58time to get used to. In the beginning, I

1:31:00used the front-facing camera, which

1:31:02again is fine if you're just getting

1:31:03into the habit of it. Um but then over

1:31:05time, I started practicing the back

1:31:07camera. Let's talk about filming.

1:31:10Ideally, you're the I know people are

1:31:13going to say lighting. The best lighting

1:31:16is natural light or like by a window.

1:31:18So, filming by a window help if you

1:31:22don't have ring lights or softboxes or

1:31:25anything. Back

1:31:27cam on phone is going to give you the

1:31:29highest quality. When I'm filming

1:31:31short-form content, I love lots of head

1:31:34space. I want it empty up here. I want

1:31:37lots of space because that's where I

1:31:39like to put text for my videos or closed

1:31:42captions as options here. So, I think

1:31:45the biggest thing to think about filming

1:31:47wise is head space. We're running out of

1:31:52space. Head space. You want lots of head

1:31:55space, okay? Make eye contact with the

1:31:58camera instead of looking at yourself.

1:32:00And like you don't have to stare at the

1:32:01camera, but just like for me, if I'm

1:32:03using a teleprompter, I'll still

1:32:05naturally like look off to the side

1:32:06because if I was in conversation with

1:32:07somebody, I wouldn't just stare at them.

1:32:09So, again, these things all take

1:32:12practice, but I'll look at the camera

1:32:14and then like if I'm pretending to

1:32:15think, I'll like look off to the side.

1:32:17And like now I'm looking here and then I

1:32:20look there. So, have natural eye

1:32:22movement while maintaining eye contact.

1:32:25When it comes to editing,

1:32:28you could use the platform-specific

1:32:31editor. My preference is TikTok's. If I

1:32:35had to pick one platform-specific

1:32:37editor, I think TikTok is better than

1:32:41Instagram's and YouTube's. So, there's

1:32:44that. Even like Instagram has edits, but

1:32:47everything Instagram has glitches so

1:32:50much. So, if you don't want to edit in

1:32:54TikTok, there's also CapCut. Now,

1:32:56something to know about CapCut, the app,

1:32:59they changed their terms of service so

1:33:00that any footage that you upload to the

1:33:04app, they

1:33:06retain some ownership of. So, you will

1:33:10still own all your footage, but they

1:33:12will also own your footage so that they

1:33:14can use it however they want to use it.

1:33:17So, that's something some people don't

1:33:19love about CapCut since they updated it.

1:33:22For me,

1:33:23I don't really care because I'm like,

1:33:25what are the odds that they're going to

1:33:26use my janky like coffee content in an

1:33:31ad? And if they do, whoop-di-do. I guess

1:33:33where it could be run into issues for

1:33:36us, John, my husband and I, we don't

1:33:39show our baby's face on social media.

1:33:42That's something that we don't want to

1:33:44do right now. And so, I wouldn't want to

1:33:46upload footage of my baby in CapCut

1:33:48because then they could use it. So,

1:33:51alternatively, there are other editing

1:33:53apps. I did a whole comparison on

1:33:55editing apps on my YouTube channel, so

1:33:58you can watch to see what are good

1:34:00CapCut alternatives. I do think Adobe

1:34:04has Premiere Pro. It's a newer app, so

1:34:08they don't have all the features that

1:34:09CapCut does, but they have a really good

1:34:12enhanced audio feature that I

1:34:15I love so much. It makes it sound like

1:34:17you have a mic when you don't. So, I

1:34:19think Premiere Pro is really cool. If

1:34:21you have like crap audio, you don't got

1:34:23a mic, which not having a mic doesn't

1:34:25mean crap audio, but I'm over

1:34:26exaggerating. You have crap audio, maybe

1:34:28you had to film from really far away and

1:34:30it's super echoey. Premiere Pro, enhance

1:34:33speech, game-changer, so cool. But you

1:34:35also have InShot. So, InShot is another

1:34:38option. Again, there's there's a lot of

1:34:40other ones depending on what you're

1:34:41looking for, so you can watch my

1:34:42comparison video on that. Okay, that

1:34:45kind of covers stage one, I believe. We

1:34:49already went over stage two, which is

1:34:51like you get brand clarity and you're

1:34:53starting to post. So, now we could go

1:34:56into strategy, the whole what do I post

1:34:59about now? What you are going to post

1:35:02will vary depending on your goals, you

1:35:04know? If your goal is growth,

1:35:07follow the rest of this video because

1:35:09I'm going to teach you what to post

1:35:10about. If your goal's not growth, hey,

1:35:13what the heck? Post whatever the heck

1:35:14you want. That's fine. It doesn't

1:35:16matter. You can post whatever the heck

1:35:17you want. But if your goal is growth and

1:35:21you don't have strategy and you're

1:35:22posting whatever you want and you're not

1:35:24growing, you got to start asking

1:35:27yourself, oh, maybe I should be more

1:35:29intentional with my content research and

1:35:31what I'm posting. In general, all of you

1:35:33will be posting video of some sort cuz

1:35:36video right now is the best way to be

1:35:38discovered. So, how do you figure out

1:35:40what to post about? You are going to do

Content Research

1:35:42content research. Now, there are three

1:35:45places that we're going to go over to do

1:35:47your content research. We have search

1:35:50engine. With your search engine, this is

1:35:54basically going to help you predict what

1:35:57your audience wants and what they want

1:35:59to see. The search engine strategy is

1:36:01going to help you predict what your

1:36:04audience wants to see. This is basically

1:36:06the strategy where you your strategy is

1:36:10going to be

1:36:11how can I show up in search results?

1:36:16Whether that's on Instagram search,

1:36:17TikTok, or YouTube search results, you

1:36:21want to show up in search. When people

1:36:23go to look for something, find answer to

1:36:26something, or look up reviews on a

1:36:28product or whatever, how [snorts] can

1:36:30you get in front of their eyes and show

1:36:31up in search results? Next we're going

1:36:33to study is home page or for you page.

1:36:37On YouTube, it's like the home page.

1:36:38TikTok, for you. Instagram, it's like

1:36:41the Reels tab. And this area is going to

1:36:45show you what is currently being pushed

1:36:49and recommended. Not only that, but it's

1:36:52going to show you what's

1:36:53being pushed organically.

1:36:55Didn't have to implement any sort of

1:36:57like too much SEO strategy, but

1:36:59organically, what's trending, what

1:37:02results are popping up. Yeah, so we have

1:37:04like also like trends with this. So, how

1:37:07can you show up on home? And then we're

1:37:12also going to utilize your niche

1:37:14neighbors or competitors. And you're

1:37:17going to study their content to figure

1:37:18out what is currently resonating with

1:37:22your audience. This will make sure your

1:37:25videos are reaching your people. So,

1:37:30these are the three different places

1:37:32that we're going to do our content

1:37:33research to make sure our videos are

1:37:35showing up across the board and reaching

1:37:37the right people. Let's do this

1:37:40together. So, I'm actually going to go

1:37:43to Notion. I have a content calendar

1:37:47that I'm going to be using. This content

1:37:49calendar is part of the workbook, so you

1:37:52can get access to this and apply the

1:37:55same strategies that we're going to be

1:37:57doing together with this content

1:37:59calendar. Going back and forth between

1:38:02GoodNotes, I'm going to go here. And

1:38:06we're going to use my TikTok one for

1:38:09example

1:38:10of figuring out, okay, what can I post

1:38:12about and have a little bit more

1:38:13clarity. So, we're going to look at

1:38:15maybe like coffee or post part

1:38:17first-time mom, postpartum books. I want

1:38:19to figure out like what sort of videos

1:38:21are going to be working well right now.

1:38:23So, first thing we want to study is

1:38:26search engine. So, I, if my goal is to

1:38:29grow on TikTok, naturally, what platform

1:38:31are we going to study? TikTok. So, we're

1:38:33going to go home, search, and I'm just

1:38:36going to type in coffee and see what is

1:38:38suggested here.

1:38:40Now, I am looking at these suggested

1:38:42results first because this is literally

1:38:45TikTok telling you, hey, these are the

1:38:48most common searches when it comes to

1:38:51coffee. People, when they look up

1:38:53coffee, they actually are looking up

1:38:54coffee vlog. They want to see coffee

1:38:57vlogs. People are looking up coffee

1:38:59TikTok, coffee aesthetic, coffee

1:39:01recipes.

1:39:02TikTok is telling you what people are

1:39:05looking for on their platform. It's

1:39:08amazing. So, automatically, I'm drawn to

1:39:11coffee recipes cuz like I said, I enjoy

1:39:13making my own little recipes and making

1:39:16my own syrups and all the stuff. So, I'm

1:39:19going to write down coffee recipes

1:39:21first, and we could just like elaborate

1:39:24on them. Coffee recipes. Going back or

1:39:28anything else, maybe like coffee at

1:39:30coffee bar station. I think I have a

1:39:32pretty cool coffee bar station, so let

1:39:35me just do coffee bar station. So, I'm

1:39:39just kind of like keeping track of these

1:39:40recommended results or suggested

1:39:43searches. And now we're going to

1:39:45actually click on one that I would be

1:39:47interested in creating content on. So,

1:39:49I'm going to click on coffee recipes,

1:39:51and I am going to look at these

1:39:54recommended results or these top

1:39:56results. Now, what I suggest doing is

1:39:59actually applying a filter because you

1:40:01want to know what is currently working

1:40:04and currently performing well in search

1:40:07results. So, I'm going to do like the

1:40:09last 3 months, and I'm going to apply.

1:40:12Salted maple latte,

1:40:14maple vanilla bean. It looks like maple

1:40:17fall has been kind of like the vibe,

1:40:19salted maple.

1:40:21That's funny. Maple salted maple, brown

1:40:24sugar shaken espresso. So, I actually do

1:40:28have a salty mapes. I call it my salty

1:40:31mapes. I have a salted maple recipe that

1:40:33I think is really good. So, I'm actually

1:40:36going to expand on this idea a little

1:40:37bit based off of the videos that I see,

1:40:40salted maple latte, salted maple vanilla

1:40:43shaken espresso, salted maple brown

1:40:46sugar. I'm going to do the text that we

1:40:48were seeing on screen. I'm going to go

1:40:50to text hook text. And I think what I

1:40:54want my video to be is

1:40:58salted maple shaken espresso. And the

1:41:02emojis are important. I noticed they

1:41:05were using emojis a lot. I'm going to do

1:41:07like that. Was there like a syrup one? I

1:41:10thought there was a syrup one. No,

1:41:11that's fine. So, we have a coffee recipe

1:41:14that looks like it's a pretty good one.

1:41:16And then I'm just going to kind of like

1:41:17keep going down the rabbit hole. And any

1:41:20video that you see, you're welcome to

1:41:23save it and create collections based off

1:41:26of the different topics that you'll be

1:41:28posting about. So, maybe I want to do a

1:41:30new collection, and this is going to be

1:41:32my coffee inspo save. And then you could

1:41:36come back to it, anything that gave you

1:41:38inspiration for later. Let's do an

1:41:41example on Instagram. We're going to go

1:41:43to search. This time we're going to do

1:41:46books. So, I'm going to say book

1:41:49recommendations, book talk. Let's go

1:41:51with book recommendations. And again, as

1:41:54you could see here,

1:41:55book recommendations, book

1:41:56recommendations, book recommendations,

1:41:58it's in their nameplate, the bold part

1:42:00of their bio, and that's why those

1:42:01people are showing up. Anyhow,

1:42:04now I'm going to look again. We want to

1:42:07kind of filter out the older posts with

1:42:09the newer ones. I'm doing this search,

1:42:12I'm going to look at the date that it

1:42:14was posted to make sure it's relevant.

1:42:17So, this one is January, great. This

1:42:19one, December, not bad, but if I notice

1:42:22one is from like October,

1:42:24a little bit older, might not be

1:42:25relevant anymore. So, I'm kind of

1:42:27looking more recent posts, what's

1:42:29working well. Books I knew were five

1:42:32stars before I finished. I like that

1:42:35hook. I think that's really cool. So,

1:42:37I'm going to go back to Notion, and I'm

1:42:39going to write that down. Books I knew

1:42:43were five stars before I finished. I

1:42:47think that's brilliant, good idea. It

1:42:49could also be the hook text. So, again,

1:42:53if I wanted to, I could save it, add to

1:42:56collection, books to grant, save. So,

1:42:59we're kind of just getting inspo right

1:43:01now. Now, bonus strategy, when you are

1:43:05doing this, I want you to pay attention

1:43:07to the viral follower conversion rate.

1:43:12That is totally the term. So, this post

1:43:15I like, I'm like, "Ooh la la." It has 2

1:43:18million views, which I'm like, "Okay,

1:43:20viral. If it went viral for them, will

1:43:21it go viral for me?" Let's check. Let's

1:43:23go to this person's profile. What? 120

1:43:27followers, 2 million views? Amazing

1:43:31ratio. Ideally, what we're shooting for

1:43:33is like the views are two times the

1:43:35followers follower count. So, if like I

1:43:38came to this profile and saw that she

1:43:40had 5 million followers and 2 million

1:43:43views, it's like, "Okay, well, no wonder

1:43:46it had 2 million views. They have 5

1:43:47million followers." So, let's let me

1:43:49show you an example of maybe somebody

1:43:51this is 309. That's great conversion.

1:43:55All these are great conversions. Okay,

1:43:57here we go. Yeah. Haley Pham, I love

1:43:59her. Follow her on YouTube. She's the

1:44:02best. Her and Ryan, they're great. But

1:44:04as you could see, 2.6 million views.

1:44:08This might not be one that I want to

1:44:10implement in my strategy because the

1:44:12reason it has 2.6 million views might be

1:44:15because she has 1.6 million followers,

1:44:18right? So, pay attention to someone's

1:44:20follower count, same thing when you're

1:44:21doing your research on TikTok. If you

1:44:24notice, let's see. Oh, this one's not

1:44:26showing views on iPad. But if you notice

1:44:28a video has like 1 million, go to the

1:44:31person's profile, see if it's viral for

1:44:33them. This one, almost 2,000 followers

1:44:36and almost 350,000 views. So, that's a

1:44:39great ratio. Ash is definitely onto

1:44:43something. Her coffee content seems to

1:44:44be working really well. At least this

1:44:46one and this one went viral for her, are

1:44:49performing above average. So, those are

1:44:51the ones that I want to be paying

1:44:52attention to. This same strategy works

1:44:54for YouTube, y'all.

1:44:56Go to search. If I look up Instagram

1:44:59monetization, branding, edits tutorial,

1:45:01reels, comments, reel compilation,

1:45:04Instagram edits tutorial, it's going to

1:45:07show me like, "Okay, maybe I could do an

1:45:08edits tutorial." So, same thing,

1:45:10YouTube, utilize the search engine,

1:45:12write down your video ideas. With

1:45:14YouTube, the video idea could be that,

1:45:16and instead of hook text, you're going

1:45:18to do like the title inspo. So, you see,

1:45:22"Okay, I like this video, it's

1:45:24performing well, it has a good

1:45:26subscriber to view ratio." Again, you're

1:45:29looking this person. I wonder who that

1:45:31is. They have 650,000

1:45:34subscribers, only 43,000 views. Not a

1:45:37great ratio, so maybe this uh packaging

1:45:40could improve. So, let me find somebody.

1:45:43Ooh, almost 100,000 views and 1 million.

1:45:47Justin Brown, Justin Brown, Justin

1:45:48Brown. This one's looking good, 2.2

1:45:51million views. And with the time frame

1:45:54on YouTube, I usually look within 2

1:45:56years. 2 years is like the max out I

1:45:59will go.

1:46:001 year is great, anything less than a

1:46:01year is like, "Okay, something's working

1:46:03well with the packaging of like the

1:46:05title thumbnail." So, I'm keeping track

1:46:07of instead of like the hook text, I'm

1:46:10paying attention to the search phrase

1:46:12and the pairing of the title thumbnail.

1:46:16That's what I'm going to be writing down

1:46:18in my Notion content calendar. The

1:46:20second place that we we're going to go

1:46:22over is like the home page, which is

1:46:24basically just like the Reels tab,

1:46:27TikTok for you page. And you need to

1:46:28understand like you have an algorithm

1:46:31that's serving you biased content. So,

1:46:33on the Reels tab, what you're going to

1:46:36see is catered to you and your

1:46:38interests, but it's still showing you

1:46:40what's being recommended to you. So,

1:46:41you're just going to pay attention to

1:46:42like what is somebody saying in the

1:46:45beginning of their videos, what text

1:46:47popped up at the beginning of their

1:46:48videos. Do you notice any recurring

1:46:50sounds and all of this stuff? Is there

1:46:53an industry update? How are people

1:46:55capturing attention? I asked an FBI

1:46:57hostage negotiator

1:46:59how to handle that's too expensive.

1:47:01Here's his answer. Like, how are people

1:47:04showing up on home or in Reels? That'll

1:47:08apply to TikTok as well. Now, I I know I

1:47:10focused on Instagram and TikTok for the

1:47:12search engine ones, so I kind of want to

1:47:14focus a little bit more for the home on

1:47:17YouTube. With YouTube, sometimes what is

1:47:20showing up on your home page is not

1:47:23necessarily what will show up on

1:47:25someone's search results. So, when I'm

1:47:27posting videos to my channel, some

1:47:29videos I'm thinking, "Oh, wow, this is

1:47:31going to be a great resource when

1:47:33somebody searches up this term." Other

1:47:35times, for example, this video, how to

1:47:37use Hootsuite, the best social media

1:47:39management tool for businesses,

1:47:42Instagram edits app full tutorial, how

1:47:44to actually pick a niche. Like, those

1:47:46phrases are things people are looking

1:47:47up. So, that's me trying to show up in

1:47:49ranking and search results over time.

1:47:52That's not me trying to make a viral

1:47:54video and blow up and reach crazy

1:47:57audience. There are other videos that

1:47:59are more, "Okay, home page, how do I get

1:48:02on somebody's home page?" strategy. For

1:48:05example,

1:48:06I thought this video, stop making just

1:48:09one video with your content. That's not

1:48:11very like search friendly, but I thought

1:48:13the thumbnail would perform pretty well

1:48:15on the home page. Or even like this

1:48:17format with like the tweet format, I

1:48:19thought that would perform well on a

1:48:21home page. So, sometimes there's

1:48:23different intentions behind a video, and

1:48:26that's totally fine. So, you just want

1:48:27to pay attention like what sort of

1:48:29videos are coming up on your home page,

1:48:31what fonts are people using. When you're

1:48:34on your phone, are the fonts easy to

1:48:36read? How are people using thumbnails to

1:48:39stop attention and stop a scroll, and

1:48:41then how do they pair their title with

1:48:43that thumbnail? Most of the time I will

1:48:45say when you're working on your video

1:48:47packaging and you're pairing title

1:48:48thumbnail, the text that you use in your

1:48:51thumbnail is not going to be the same

1:48:53text that you use in your titles. So,

1:48:55example, this video from Cody Sanchez,

1:48:57lock the F in.

1:48:59She's not saying lock the F in again in

1:49:02the title, she's saying how to actually

1:49:04achieve your goals in 2026. So, this

1:49:07captures attention of the scroll and

1:49:09then this tells you what the video is

1:49:11about. Lock the F in. Whoa, wait, what

1:49:13is she talking about? And then hard now,

1:49:16hard later. Then you have the title, how

1:49:18to actually achieve your goals in 2026.

1:49:21So, it's like, oh, okay, if I want to

1:49:23lock in for 2026 and hit my goals, this

1:49:26is the video I want to watch. So,

1:49:28over time you'll learn video packaging

1:49:30on YouTube. It's definitely something I

1:49:33dive further into in BSP, but again,

1:49:36those are kind of the things you're

1:49:37looking at on your homepage. For

1:49:40example, I have switch account this one

1:49:44and this channel, this homepage is going

1:49:46to look a little bit different than my

1:49:47other homepage. So, cuz I consume

1:49:50different types of content on both

1:49:52channels. So, this can show me like

1:49:55another aspect of content creation and

1:49:58it's like, oh, okay, here's another

1:50:00style thumbnail that I could try for

1:50:01this style of content. So, that is how

1:50:04you can utilize the homepage to figure

1:50:07out what to post about. Then finally, we

1:50:10have your niche neighbors. This one is a

1:50:13fun one and what you're going to do is

1:50:16you are going to Actually, let me pull

1:50:18up. This is a creator that I follow on

1:50:20my personal Tik Tok. Love her, Brittany

1:50:24girl, I doubt you watch this or follow

1:50:27me, but literally I follow her on my

1:50:29personal page and I love her. She's so

1:50:31cool. Okay, so she would be like a niche

1:50:34neighbor cuz she makes coffee videos.

1:50:36So, I'm going to go to her profile. I'm

1:50:38going to filter by popular and I'm going

1:50:40to see like what is popular, what viral

1:50:43videos have she created and recently

1:50:45popular. So, I'm going to like scroll

1:50:47through again, look at the dates to see

1:50:49are there any recent videos, the most

1:50:52recent viral ones and I'm kind of

1:50:54looking within the last 3 months. This

1:50:56one, 11:11. Now, let's analyze the

1:50:59video. Let's What was the starting

1:51:01frame? What was the hook text? What's

1:51:03the audio? What What's the pacing? How

1:51:06long is the video? So, then I'm like

1:51:07starting to analyze the video, kind of

1:51:09studying editing styles. How can I

1:51:11recreate this in my with my own twist?

1:51:14So, this one resonated with her

1:51:15audience. It was this one, 34.8 thousand

1:51:18views compared to 20,000 followers. I

1:51:21think that's really well really great.

1:51:23I'm going to like save this again as

1:51:25inspo for coffee in my coffee collection

1:51:28to recreate later. So, I could again,

1:51:30I'll add that to my notion. I could do

1:51:33coffee Why do I keep doing three F's?

1:51:35Coffee vlog and then I could link

1:51:38specifically to her video, Brittany's

1:51:41video.

1:51:43Share, copy link.

1:51:46We have Notion, paste, done. So, now I

1:51:49can quickly reference that video as

1:51:52inspiration. Now, that's one way to do

1:51:54it, filter by popular and then find the

1:51:55most recent or just stay in the default

1:51:58view and kind of skim the last 20 pieces

1:52:01of content and check to see which one

1:52:04went viral for them, above their

1:52:07average. So, it looks like average she's

1:52:09getting 3 to 4,000 views on videos. So,

1:52:14I want to look for a video that's like

1:52:166,000,

1:52:17maybe even 10,000. Like this one,

1:52:2010,000. That's viral for you, viral for

1:52:22her. This one I want to study. Again,

1:52:25entry shot, audio, hook text, editing

1:52:29style, length, all the things. Those are

1:52:31That's stuff that I'm paying attention

1:52:33to and I'm taking notes on it here. I

1:52:34have text hook, verbal hook, but we

1:52:36could talk about hooks a little bit more

1:52:39a little bit later in this video, but

1:52:40we're taking notes. What if I notice

1:52:42this, maybe I could try this. So, you

1:52:43can take notes here too what you're

1:52:45analyzing and noticing. Or let's go to

1:52:48Instagram. For example, if I wanted to

1:52:51do, let's say, running

1:52:54tips.

1:52:56What the fark? Try and running for

1:52:57beginners. And let's say this is my

1:53:01niche neighbor, somebody in my industry

1:53:03that I'm like, yes, I want to create

1:53:05like them. I want to post similar

1:53:07content to them. Again, I'm going to

1:53:09look at their followers. With 164,000

1:53:11followers, just going to go to the Reels

1:53:14tab and see what is viral for this

1:53:18creator. Again, paying attention to view

1:53:20counts and his average views look like

1:53:24somewhere between 20, maybe like 20,000.

1:53:27So, I want to find something that's

1:53:28above that, like maybe double that or

1:53:31more. So, here we go. We have two videos

1:53:33over the 200,000 view mark. So, these

1:53:36might be good to add to my list of how

1:53:38to start running, common running form

1:53:40mistakes. So, those would be stuff I

1:53:42would add to my content calendar, save

1:53:44to a collection, return back and create

1:53:47my own version of. This is not the only

1:53:49thing you can do to study your niche

1:53:52neighbors. Not only can you study

1:53:54content that is performing well for them

1:53:56because if this your niche neighbor,

1:53:58let's say you want to do running

1:54:00content, your niche neighbor is making

1:54:02running content, then it's very likely

1:54:04that their audience is also going to be

1:54:06your audience. That's why we're studying

1:54:09them because if it resonates with their

1:54:11audience,

1:54:12it'll probably attract and resonate the

1:54:14right audience for you as well.

1:54:17So, something else you could pay

1:54:18attention to instead of just content

1:54:20that's performing well for them, you can

1:54:22actually go to a video and go to the

1:54:25comment section and check to see what

1:54:29sort of questions people have in the

1:54:31comment section. Looks like there's a

1:54:33comment here that says, I need help with

1:54:35shin splints, they are killing my

1:54:37ability to run. I can make a video on

1:54:40how to deal with shin splints or how to

1:54:41prevent shin splints, how to recover

1:54:43from shin splints. So, that alone gives

1:54:46me like three video ideas just from

1:54:48reading that comment or going to the

1:54:49comment section. I could also pay

1:54:51attention to their website and how they

1:54:54are making money. If you're somebody who

1:54:56you don't quite know how you want to

1:54:57make money as a content creator yet, you

1:55:00can look at your niche neighbors and

1:55:02look to see what sort of services

1:55:04they're offering or if they're doing

1:55:06paid partnerships or selling digital

1:55:08products. Just study their link in bio

1:55:11and looks like they have a running app

1:55:13and maybe their freebie is like a half

1:55:16marathon challenge. So, ask yourself,

1:55:18could I do something similar? Is that

1:55:21the route that I want to go down? And

1:55:22just look at a bunch of niche neighbors

1:55:24and you'll find a lot of clarity there

1:55:26or direction there. You can do the same

1:55:29strategy over on YouTube when going to

1:55:32someone's videos is of their recent

1:55:36videos, which ones are popping off and

1:55:39then which ones So, it looks like 1

1:55:41million, but that's using Ryan and I

1:55:46don't have a Ryan Trahan. So, yeah,

1:55:49anything that's like with Ryan Trahan,

1:55:51which like by the way, love Ryan Trahan

1:55:53as a YouTuber if you don't already

1:55:54follow him.

1:55:56I think the best YouTuber

1:55:58at the moment. Setting a best example of

1:56:01what it's like to be a YouTuber. He uses

1:56:04his phone in all of his videos and

1:56:07they're high quality, they're amazing.

1:56:08So, definitely check him out. It's a

1:56:10good one, this one is a good one. So,

1:56:12you would look at similar strategy, look

1:56:14at their profile, look to see if the

1:56:15recent videos, what's viral for them or

1:56:17even like sort by popular, see what's

1:56:19their most popular ones. Make sure you

1:56:21only focus on like the ones from the

1:56:22last one to two years and then see if

1:56:25you could recreate it. But I will say,

1:56:26something that I notice a lot of my

1:56:28students do and the mistake that they

1:56:29make when studying niche neighbors,

1:56:32whether it's Instagram, YouTube or Tik

1:56:33Tok, is they'll actually choose viral

1:56:36creators like Haley to study and that's

1:56:39not necessarily what we want to do yet.

1:56:41We don't want to study people who are

1:56:43already viral established 3.8 million

1:56:46followers. Obviously, they have done

1:56:48something amazing to get here, but let's

1:56:51go to oldest. She's been on this journey

1:56:54for 7 years. So, her growth strategy

1:56:58probably looked different than her

1:57:00current maintaining posting frequency

1:57:03strategy. So, you actually want to try

1:57:05to find people currently in their growth

1:57:08strategy phase or maybe somewhere be

1:57:11under 500,000 followers. That's kind of

1:57:14the range that I would go for is like,

1:57:16who is currently growing? They're in

1:57:19that growth strategy, they're applying

1:57:21these concepts. They aren't already

1:57:23established. For example, let's see if

1:57:25she's still there. So, Kat Stickler. The

1:57:29content that she created to grow her

1:57:30account is likely not the content she's

1:57:33creating now. So, I wouldn't study her

1:57:35recent post and be like, oh, I need to

1:57:37make this. This is what I have to be

1:57:39making because she's already

1:57:40established, she might not be trying to

1:57:42implement like growth right now. Not to

1:57:44say that's never the case, but in

1:57:46general, you'll see the best results if

1:57:48you're studying creators who are

1:57:50actively growing, trying to grow in that

1:57:53strategy phase as opposed to creators

1:57:55who have been established for years and

1:57:57already have millions of followers

1:57:58because they might not be following any

1:58:00sort of strategy. So, I kind of want to

Hook Layering

1:58:02jump into video packaging, specifically

1:58:06hook layering first because this is like

1:58:10that first element that you will learn

1:58:12and study as a content creator when

1:58:15crafting your videos because now that

1:58:17you have this list of ideas of like,

1:58:21okay, I can make coffee recipes, I can

1:58:23make a coffee bar station video, I can

1:58:25make a coffee vlog. Like now that you

1:58:26have like a general idea, how do you

1:58:28practically create said video? Well,

1:58:31first thing you want to study hooks and

1:58:34not just like what somebody is doing in

1:58:36the first few seconds, but there's three

1:58:38elements of a hook that you want to

1:58:41study and this is something that hook

1:58:43layering I discovered two and a half,

1:58:46maybe three years ago. I did a deep dive

1:58:47video studying viral short form content

1:58:50and when I was trying to figure out what

1:58:52is a viral hook, I figured out that

1:58:54viral hooks actually layer three

1:58:56different hook elements. Like I've heard

1:58:59so many different things, but really

1:59:01what it comes down to, there's three

1:59:03parts of hook layering. You have the

1:59:07visual

1:59:08hook, the text hook, and the audio hook.

1:59:12You want to use all three. All three.

1:59:15You want to be thinking about all three

1:59:16of these in those first 1 to 3 seconds

1:59:20of your video. To do this, you're going

1:59:22to ask yourself with the visual hook,

1:59:26what will the viewer see that their

1:59:31attention? With the text hook, you're

1:59:34going to ask yourself, what will the

1:59:36viewer read that will capture their

1:59:39attention? And with the audio hook,

1:59:42you're going to ask yourself, what will

1:59:44the viewer

1:59:46hear that's going to capture their

1:59:48attention? And if you could layer all

1:59:50three of these things in the first few

1:59:53seconds, you're master at hook layering.

1:59:56The seeing element is the visual, like

1:59:59the actual first frame, the video, the

2:00:01shot. The Is it the lighting? Is it what

2:00:03someone's wearing? Is it what they're

2:00:05holding? Are they stirring their coffee?

2:00:07Are they making a dessert while talking?

2:00:11So, the hook layering is like, visually,

2:00:13what is happening to capture someone's

2:00:15attention and keep their attention. Text

2:00:18is the text on screen. As soon as you

2:00:20see a video, if there's text on screen,

2:00:22that's the text hook. What text is that?

2:00:25And yeah, what's the viewer reading

2:00:28that's going to capture their attention?

2:00:29And audio is the audible, the listening,

2:00:31the hearing. Is it a trending audio? Is

2:00:33it somebody saying something to the

2:00:35camera? Is it a voiceover? So, verbally,

2:00:39what is someone saying? Now, I want to

2:00:41show you typically the similar to

2:00:45YouTube. With YouTube, we talked about

2:00:47how the thumbnail and title, the text is

2:00:50not really going to be the same because

2:00:52you don't want to waste real estate,

2:00:54right? And say the same thing in two

2:00:55places. The thumbnail stops the scroll,

2:00:59and then the text kind of summarizes

2:01:01what the video is about. That's kind of

2:01:03a similar strategy with the hook

2:01:04layering. The text on screen is not

2:01:07going to be the same thing that you say

2:01:09out loud. For example, let me actually

2:01:12just erase all this. Hook

2:01:17how to edit aesthetic photos in under 5

2:01:20minutes. This is kind of summarizing

2:01:22what the video is about or what

2:01:24somebody, if they watch to the end of

2:01:26the video, this is what they will gain.

2:01:29And then verbally though, what I say is

2:01:32not, this is how to edit aesthetic

2:01:34photos in under 5 No, no, no, no, no. I

2:01:36don't say that. Verbally, I say, if you

2:01:39want your photos to go from this to

2:01:41this, here's how I do it. Or here's how

2:01:44I edited this photo to go from this to

2:01:46this in under 5 minutes. You know, so it

2:01:49compliments the hook text, but it's not

2:01:51identical to the hook text. And then

2:01:53visually, we had an animation going, and

2:01:56there's like a typing sound effect, and

2:01:58then immediately after that sound, I had

2:02:00a pop-up and a pop-up. It was like

2:02:04Right? So, within those first 3 seconds,

2:02:07not only do we have animation, we have a

2:02:09sound effect, we have pop-up with a

2:02:10sound effect, and then closed captioning

2:02:12is down here. So, there's a lot

2:02:14happening in those first 3 seconds to

2:02:16capture attention. So, how can you apply

2:02:19hook layering? That's what you're going

2:02:21to study. When you are studying and

2:02:24doing your content research, you could

2:02:25study and do content research just to

2:02:27get content ideas like this. Or when you

2:02:31do Let's do coffee at home. When you're

2:02:35doing this part of it, you are now

2:02:36starting to pay attention to Okay,

2:02:39what's the hook text? What's those first

2:02:42few clips? And you're going to take

2:02:43notes on that. So, I'm going to see Oh,

2:02:47morning iced coffee routine. That's

2:02:50nice. Let's see. 3 days ago, 51,000

2:02:54followers, 13,000 views. It's all right.

2:02:58Lacey has 31,000 followers. Ooh, 122,000

2:03:04views. Okay, let's study this one. We

2:03:07have honey vanilla bean iced latte, no

2:03:10syrups needed. This is another coffee

2:03:12recipe. So, I'm going to do the hook

2:03:14text is honey vanilla bean iced latte.

2:03:18Honey vanilla bean iced latte, no syrups

2:03:26needed. I have verbal hook here, but

2:03:28that's like audio what is playing. Let's

2:03:31turn the volume up.

2:03:34Okay, so it's just an audio, so I could

2:03:36actually like save this audio. Peace.

2:03:40See if I could find it. Okay. And then

2:03:42the visual hook is the espresso pouring.

2:03:47And so, I'm just going to

2:03:48document that. Espresso

2:03:51pouring close-up into latte. So, now

2:03:56that visual hook is the same visual hook

2:03:58that I want to do in my own version. So,

2:04:00maybe this is the visual hook that I use

2:04:03for my salted maple shaken espresso

2:04:05because it looks like that worked, and

2:04:07then I could use a currently trending

2:04:09audio to kind of pair everything

2:04:12together. So, that's hook layering. That

2:04:15is just one element of video packaging.

2:04:18Something else to consider and pay

2:04:20attention to when you're doing your

2:04:22content research are the different types

2:04:24of video formats that you will come

2:04:26across, and this is again going to help

2:04:28you decide, okay, what's going to be the

2:04:30best way to deliver my video idea or

2:04:32piece of information. We have about five

2:04:35formats that are the most common formats

2:04:38people create their content under. We

2:04:41have face-to-camera

2:04:45like this. I am talking to the camera

2:04:47face-to-face, you and me. This could be

2:04:50educational videos, it could be vlogs

2:04:53where you're talking to the camera, it

2:04:54could be storytelling where you're just

2:04:56like, "Oh my gosh, the craziest thing

2:04:57just happened to me." You could be

2:04:59giving a tip or something that you

2:05:00learned, or you were listening to a

2:05:01podcast and had a revelation, pull your

2:05:03phone out like you're on FaceTime with a

2:05:04friend, and you're talking to the camera

2:05:06super casual. So, you have

2:05:07face-to-camera, that's an option. Next,

2:05:11we have voiceover. This is when you have

2:05:15obviously your voice recording over the

2:05:18video that is playing. Again, this could

2:05:20be storytelling, it could be

2:05:21educational, inspirational,

2:05:23could be a vlog talking through your

2:05:25day, what you did, issues you ran into.

2:05:28So, voiceover style, then you have

2:05:32B-roll with trending audio, and then

2:05:36usually there's a text hook. So, A-roll,

2:05:39main frame, B-roll is like the show,

2:05:41don't tell. And so, it's like clips of

2:05:44you at the gym, working out, doing

2:05:46laundry. You're not really talking to

2:05:47the camera, it's just clips of things,

2:05:49coffee, typing on a keyboard, B-roll.

2:05:52So, you have a B-roll paired with a

2:05:53trending audio, and then text. We

2:05:55usually see these in like a 7-second

2:05:57format, or it could be like a entire

2:05:59morning routine in a 30-second aesthetic

2:06:02coffee vlog or something. There's no

2:06:03talking, no voiceover, it's just relying

2:06:06on the music. You also have

2:06:09reaction-based content, or even like

2:06:12stitches,

2:06:13duets where you're reacting to other

2:06:17people's content. Even if you're doing

2:06:20green screen videos where maybe an

2:06:22article came out of something relevant

2:06:24in your industry, you could talk and

2:06:26react to the article or the thing event

2:06:28that is happening, reply or stitch other

2:06:30creators' content. Do you agree or

2:06:32disagree with the video? So, you have

2:06:33reaction content, and then we also have

2:06:36like the lip sync. If there's a trending

2:06:39audio and you're like lipping whatever

2:06:41the audio says, or even like just dance

2:06:43trends, lip syncing trends, those are

2:06:46kind of all I kind of put into one

2:06:49thing. So, there's lots of different

2:06:51video formats that you could deliver

2:06:53your content in. And then another thing

2:06:56that you can think about when it comes

2:06:57to video packaging is the value that you

2:07:01will be delivering within the video. So,

2:07:05I like to think that there are four main

2:07:07different ways to deliver value. You

2:07:10have And I call them value pillars, but

2:07:12you have educational content,

2:07:16entertaining, inspirational,

2:07:19and relatable.

2:07:23Now, I know this is like a lot, so let

2:07:26me just say, these are all options. And

2:07:31what I want you to do is to try all of

2:07:35the options. Try everything. I think

2:07:38that is one of the biggest mistakes that

2:07:40I see creators and my students making is

2:07:44they will find one video format and one

2:07:48value pillar that works for them or that

2:07:51they feel comfortable with, and they

2:07:53will just stick to that, and then

2:07:55they'll only do that for like 30 to 60

2:07:58posts, and they'll they'll come to me

2:07:59and be like, "Milly, I'm not growing.

2:08:01What's going on?" I look at their

2:08:02profile, give them an audit, and I'm

2:08:03like, "Well, you are sticking to B-roll

2:08:07style video, 7-second videos with a

2:08:10trending audio and text, and it's

2:08:12inspirational. It's like motivational

2:08:14quotes, and that is all you've been

2:08:16doing for 2 months.

2:08:18You got to change it up." So, that is

2:08:20one of the biggest mistakes that I see

2:08:21people make. And the reason I'm I'm

2:08:23sharing all of this is not to overwhelm

2:08:26or confuse me like, "Oh my gosh, I have

2:08:28to do all of these." Oh my goodness,

2:08:30like you don't have to do them all all

2:08:32the time, but when you're in these

2:08:34initial phases of growing and trying to

2:08:37figure out what's going to connect with

2:08:38your audience, I want to show you that

2:08:40there's the options are endless. And

2:08:42that's an exciting thing, not a scary

2:08:44thing. It's exciting because you're

2:08:45like, if you did one video and you're

2:08:48talking through, "Here is my salted

2:08:50maple iced latte recipe," and talking to

2:08:53the camera didn't work, you can make the

2:08:56same thing. This time, do voiceover.

2:08:59Just record yourself making it, and then

2:09:01do a voiceover talking how to make a

2:09:02salted maple, blah, blah, blah, blah,

2:09:04blah. Okay, if that didn't work, fine.

2:09:06Shorten it again. Make it like a

2:09:0810-second quick little thing with like

2:09:10text saying, "Salted maple iced latte

2:09:13recipe {parentheses} no syrups needed,

2:09:15recipe in caption." It's like a quick

2:09:1710-second aesthetic with an aesthetic

2:09:19trending audio. It's the same video

2:09:22idea, just delivered in so many

2:09:24different ways. And so, it's really cool

2:09:27that all the outside-of-the-box thinking

2:09:30that you get to do when you play with

2:09:32different video formats. Same thing with

2:09:35the value pillars. If you are creating

2:09:37coffee content, how can you create

2:09:40coffee content that's educational? How

2:09:42can you create coffee content that's

2:09:44entertaining? Britney does an amazing

2:09:46job at that because her vlogs are so fun

2:09:49and fast-paced, and the editing is

2:09:52great, the transitions are phenomenal.

2:09:54So, she does educational cuz she teaches

2:09:56different recipes, but she also does

2:09:58entertaining. And then, how do you make

2:09:59coffee content that's inspirational? She

2:10:02has the storytelling where she's like,

2:10:03"Okay, a year ago from today, I got this

2:10:06espresso machine, and now I have 10,000

2:10:08followers." And it's like this

2:10:09inspirational, aspirational, like, "Oh

2:10:11my gosh, that's so cool. That's

2:10:13motivating. I want to do that." And how

2:10:15do you make relatable coffee content?

2:10:17"Oh, you threw the milk up in the air,

2:10:20and then it fell to the floor, and it

2:10:21spilled everywhere." So, like, it just

2:10:24opens your mind to see all the different

2:10:28options and ways that you can create

2:10:30content. And so, these are not to

2:10:33overwhelm. I don't want you to see see

2:10:36these and go, "Oh my gosh, I have to do

2:10:37all these." No, these are just tools

2:10:40that you can keep in your back pocket.

2:10:43And when you're feeling stuck, you could

2:10:44come back to these tools and go, "Okay,

2:10:47what do I need to change up? What do I

2:10:49need to dabble with today? When's the

2:10:51last time I did face-to-camera when I

2:10:53was talking to the camera? Oh, I

2:10:55haven't. Let me try that. When's the

2:10:57last time I tried an educational piece

2:11:00of content?" That is just like

2:11:03my little spiel. There's so many

2:11:04different ways to create content, even

2:11:06with one video idea. I did a whole video

2:11:08on this, too, where it was like turning

2:11:10one vlog into 10 pieces of content. And

2:11:13so, that's another video that I can put

2:11:15in the card. But it's it's fun. It's

2:11:18exciting. It lets you explore so many

2:11:20options. And yeah. We'll we'll talk a

2:11:23little bit more about piecing all of

2:11:25this together. At the end, this will all

2:11:27click together. So, I'm just like

2:11:29wanting to show you all these little

2:11:31things, and at the end, I'll show you

2:11:32how to piece everything together to come

2:11:34up with a solid brand strategy for your

2:11:38content creator goals. So, it'll all

2:11:41click. But now that you have your

2:11:43content calendar create And by the way,

2:11:46this content calendar is really cool. I

2:11:47have these were other examples that I

2:11:49did in another video, but what's really

2:11:51cool is like when you have an idea that

2:11:53you want to do, you can click and drag

2:11:54it to like, "Okay, cool, I'm going to

2:11:56prep this." And now like, "Oh, I'm going

2:11:58to move this one to editing." And so,

2:12:00everything is like drag-and-droppable.

2:12:02And then also, if you have dates on

2:12:04anything, I have the content calendar

2:12:06set up so that it automatically syncs to

2:12:09the calendar view. So, if I change the

2:12:12date to this coffee recipe to March 9th,

2:12:17and then we go back, now March 9th, it

2:12:20is appear it has appeared on the

2:12:22calendar. Ideally, you do have a content

2:12:25calendar because it helps again with the

2:12:27batching ahead if you're a batch-ahead

2:12:29type of a person or even brainstorming.

2:12:32I think brainstorming in a calendar

2:12:33format or somewhere other than a notes

2:12:36app helps keep all your thoughts

2:12:38organized cuz you could really analyze

2:12:41hooks and editing and pacing, pillars,

2:12:45all the things. So, that's why I like to

2:12:46use more of a dashboard like this

2:12:48instead of a notes app. But once you

2:12:50have some ideas ready to go, content

2:12:53ready to create, you'll probably want to

2:12:55know, "Okay, how often do I post?"

2:12:57That's a question we're briefly going to

2:12:59touch on cuz I get it all the time. The

2:13:00keyword here, and you are going to hate

2:13:03it, is consistency.

2:13:06Yay!

2:13:07All you have to do is post consistently.

2:13:10The end. What does consistency mean?

2:13:13Notice, consistency isn't The definition

2:13:15isn't post every day. Yeah, posting

2:13:18every day is a form of consistency, but

2:13:20ideally, you want to be a content

2:13:22creator, full-time content creator, you

2:13:24need to find a frequency and posting

2:13:25cadence that works for you and your

2:13:28specific lifestyle. If you have a

2:13:30full-time job and seven kids, posting

2:13:33every day might not be realistic. That

2:13:35might not work out for you. Maybe it

2:13:37does, I don't know. But what matters at

2:13:39the end of the day is finding a schedule

2:13:41that you can realistically stick to for

2:13:44the next year. If you were to go all in

2:13:47for the next year, what's something

2:13:49realistically you could stick to for a

2:13:50year? And when I say realistically stick

2:13:52to, I want to rephrase that. What is the

2:13:55minimum posts per week you think you

2:13:57could do for a year? Minimum. Not like,

2:14:00"Oh yeah, I'm feeling good. Let's do

2:14:01every day." It's like, "Okay, well, if

2:14:03I'm sick or if it's that time of month

2:14:06or if I'm having a bad week, I think I

2:14:09could probably but I could do three

2:14:11posts." So, ask yourself, what is your

2:14:13minimum posts per week that you can do?

2:14:15Because with that as your set schedule,

2:14:19let's say that's three posts a week,

2:14:20Monday, Wednesday, Friday. With that as

2:14:22your set schedule, that means other four

2:14:25days, the world is your oyster. You can

2:14:28still post on those days. But if you

2:14:30don't post those days, no biggie because

2:14:32your consistency is Monday, Wednesday,

2:14:34Friday. You're always posting every

2:14:36Monday, Wednesday, Friday to TikTok. And

2:14:38then those other days you have Maybe

2:14:40there's a trend, and you're like, "Oh, I

2:14:41want to hop on this trend, so let me do

2:14:43this real quick." Post it on a Saturday,

2:14:44be crazy. That's that's what I do. My

2:14:46team and I, our posting schedule for

2:14:49Instagram and TikTok is Monday,

2:14:50Wednesday, Friday. We leave Tuesdays and

2:14:53Thursdays open for trends or for brand

2:14:56collaborations. If a brand comes to us

2:14:58and they're like, "Hey, do you actually

2:14:59have room to fit this collaboration into

2:15:02like your content calendar 2 weeks from

2:15:04now?" We usually leave Tuesdays and

2:15:06Thursdays open just in case a collab

2:15:08comes up. So, minimum posts per week.

2:15:12Now, I will say typically what we hear,

2:15:15we hear on Instagram, if you could post

2:15:19three to five reels per week. On TikTok,

2:15:23everybody says one post a day. And then

2:15:27YouTube, the average is one long-form

2:15:30video per week. That is just like the

2:15:32average. I'm not saying that is the way

2:15:36to be successful.

2:15:38It's it's just the average of what like

2:15:40people have said works well, but it's

2:15:43not needed. The last thing you want to

2:15:45do is say you're going to post every day

2:15:48and burn yourself out and then quit and

2:15:50then stop posting for 5 months. Because

2:15:53the the cool thing with consistency is

2:15:55Not only is it great for the algorithm,

2:15:57and it's great for your audience, too,

2:15:59because they follow you and they know

2:16:00they can expect from you, but also

2:16:03brand collaboration-wise, you're going

2:16:06to get more opportunities for PR and

2:16:08collabs when you're posting consistently

2:16:10because brands, when they're deciding

2:16:12who to work with, they're looking at how

2:16:15often you're posting. And I'm not saying

2:16:16they look to make sure you're posting

2:16:18every day. They look to see, "Has this

2:16:20creator been consistent in their upload

2:16:24schedule for the past few months? 3

2:16:26months, right?" But if they see you post

2:16:29for 2 weeks, and then you stop for 2

2:16:31months, and then you post for 2 weeks,

2:16:33and then you stop for 2 months, doesn't

2:16:34matter if you posted every day for 2

2:16:36weeks. They want to see, "Oh, this

2:16:38person posts three times a week. They've

2:16:40been doing that for 6 months. I know I

2:16:42can rely on them to send them PR, work

2:16:45with them, collab with them. They're

2:16:46serious. They're serious content

2:16:48creator." So, that's like the perk of

2:16:50consistency. The creators that are the

2:16:53most successful are creators who found a

2:16:57way to implement content creation into

2:17:00their day-to-day lifestyle. I think

2:17:02that's like the secret of being a

2:17:05content creator is finding a way to

2:17:08blend content creation into your

2:17:11day-to-day life. For me, I had them

2:17:13separated for a long time of like,

2:17:16"Okay, there's content creator Milly,

2:17:17and then there's real-life Milly." And

2:17:19that's fine to do. That worked for me

2:17:22for about 4 or 5 years. But now that I

2:17:25am a mom and I have a baby, it's harder

2:17:28for me to separate the two and separate

2:17:29time for, "Okay, I carve out time for

2:17:32content creation." Now I have to figure

2:17:34out, "How can I just add content

2:17:36creation into my day-to-day flow?"

2:17:39That's why I started posting coffee

2:17:40videos because I'm like, "I make coffee

2:17:42every day. I need to be filming and have

2:17:45content ready to go. So, I'm just going

2:17:47to start filming what I'm already

2:17:48doing." So, I think the most successful

2:17:50content creators are creators who have

2:17:52been doing this for the longest, they

2:17:54have found ways to implement every phase

2:17:57of the content creator process, filming,

2:18:00editing, scheduling, posting, coming up

2:18:02with ideas. They found ways to implement

2:18:05that into their routines, their weekly

2:18:07routines, their monthly routines, their

2:18:08daily routines, and just overall new

2:18:11habits. Just like going to the gym,

2:18:13that's kind of what content creation

2:18:15becomes. It becomes a lifestyle, a habit

2:18:18to film, a habit of a routine of, "Okay,

2:18:22I edit my videos with my morning

2:18:24coffees." So, your frequency will just

2:18:27depend on you, your lifestyle, and how

2:18:29you're layering and implementing content

2:18:32creation into your day-to-day life and

2:18:34what works well for you. Now, as you're

2:18:36posting, you're likely going to be doing

2:18:39some analytic check-ins. These are super

2:18:41important. It's going to guide you on

2:18:44your future content, tell you what's

2:18:46working, what isn't working, or could be

2:18:47improved on. And these are what I like

2:18:51to do every 30 days, and I still do this

2:18:53every 30 days because the fun thing

2:18:55about being a content creator is like

2:18:57once you lock in and you find a video

2:18:58style that works, it's only going to

2:19:00work for some time because interests

2:19:03change, social media changes, and you

2:19:07and your content are always going to be

2:19:09evolving and growing and innovating. So,

2:19:13I do analytic check-ins every 30 days.

2:19:15If your goal is growth, that's what

2:19:18we're focusing on in this video. There's

2:19:20other goals like making money,

2:19:23increasing engagement,

2:19:25etc. etc. But growth, I'm going to go to

2:19:29content you shared. This is my

2:19:31professional dashboard. We're going to

2:19:32filter over the last maybe 3 months.

2:19:35Filter and we're going to sort by

2:19:38metric. I want to see what content is

2:19:41getting me the most followers. It looks

2:19:43like an edits tutorial, brand

2:19:46collaboration example,

2:19:48and this cool how to turn one video into

2:19:5110 posts hack. I'm looking at top

2:19:53videos. It looks like brand collabs are

2:19:56a common theme. We have brand collab,

2:19:59brand collab, PR, making money, video

2:20:03engagement. Then I'm also going to

2:20:05scroll to the bottom. Kind of curious

2:20:07like what doesn't get followers cuz

2:20:09that's also important to know. I don't

2:20:12care about stories. I just want to see

2:20:15my reels follows. Okay, so the ones that

2:20:18don't bring in followers are like the

2:20:20personal stuff. So, my last November to

2:20:24this November one, little reminder,

2:20:27making Thanksgiving meal in a bag

2:20:30donations, inspirational content,

2:20:33relatable content. Those aren't getting

2:20:35like follows, but my educational stuff

2:20:38on brand collaborations and making

2:20:40money, those get me follows. So, if my

2:20:42goal is to get more followers, I'm going

2:20:45to focus on making more videos similar

2:20:48to this as opposed to the inspirational

2:20:51stuff. Doesn't mean they don't perform

2:20:53well, it just means again if my goal's

2:20:55growth, we're going to focus on the

2:20:57thing that is bringing us growth. I

2:20:59typically do my content research and

2:21:02analytic check-ins once a month. And I'm

2:21:05always planning the next month to come

2:21:07or I'm one month ahead when planning for

2:21:09content. So, that is going to be your

2:21:11content strategy for growing organically

2:21:14across platforms. I know I focus mostly

2:21:17on short-form content. Feel like that is

2:21:19mostly where my followers and viewers

2:21:22are interested in. So, again if you're

2:21:24interested in YouTube, I have plenty of

2:21:26YouTube growth strategies on my YouTube

2:21:28channel or videos related to that on my

2:21:30YouTube channel. And also I have a full

Monetization

2:21:32YouTube course that's inside the BSP

2:21:34model and it teaches everything YouTube.

2:21:37For sake of time, and I've already been

2:21:39filming for 5 hours, we're going to jump

2:21:42to profit. Now, there are lots of ways

2:21:44to make money as a content creator. You

2:21:47have UGC, user-generated content, making

2:21:52merch, platform monetization, brand

2:21:56collaborations,

2:21:58affiliates, digital products,

2:22:01having a membership, offering some sort

2:22:04of like coaching. I mean, even even

2:22:08courses. So, there's a lot of different

2:22:11income stream options. Want to finish

2:22:14that. Okay. For this video though, I

2:22:16want to focus on like the top three that

2:22:19students are usually the most interested

2:22:22in. So, we are going to talk about brand

2:22:25collabs, digital products, and platform

2:22:30monetization. I will say affiliates and

2:22:33UGC are probably the secondary most

2:22:36popular income streams that people are

2:22:39interested in. I have videos on both of

2:22:42these things, so you could go to my

2:22:44channel and again, these income streams

2:22:48I have they're fully fleshed out and

2:22:51taught in the BSP model.

2:22:53But for sake of time and my Apple pen

2:22:56dying, we're just going to talk about

2:22:58the three most common ones. Starting

2:23:01with platform monetization, let's talk

2:23:04about Instagram. When it comes to just

2:23:06Instagram specific monetization tools,

2:23:09you have badges, you have gifts,

2:23:12subscriptions or membership, bonuses.

2:23:17And then of course you could like sell

2:23:19digital product with your link in bio or

2:23:21land brand collaborations, but I'm

2:23:22talking platform monetization tools

2:23:23specifically. These are the four and

2:23:25eligibility is going to vary depending

2:23:28on each individual income stream. So,

2:23:31like badges, you have to have 10,000

2:23:34followers to get access to it. Gifts,

2:23:37you only need 500 followers to have

2:23:40access to it. So, the eligibility will

2:23:42vary depending on the tool or feature.

2:23:47Then we have TikTok. TikTok, you have a

2:23:50lot more options. You have the creator

2:23:53fund, TikTok shop, subscriptions or

2:23:58memberships again, series,

2:24:01video gifts, live rewards,

2:24:05TikTok one incentive programs.

2:24:09I spelled that wrong. And even like work

2:24:11with artists, but that's like specific

2:24:14to artists or etc. Again, eligibility

2:24:17will vary depending on country, follower

2:24:21count, or depending on feature. So, like

2:24:23creator fund, I think you have to have

2:24:2410,000 followers. TikTok shop, you have

2:24:27to have 1,000 followers to promote

2:24:30within TikTok shop or 5,000 to promote

2:24:34other sellers. So, eligibility will

2:24:36vary. And then of course our big kahuna,

2:24:39our lovely YouTube monetization, which I

2:24:41love. They have ad revenue, so that's

2:24:44like when ads play on this video, and

2:24:47you get a percentage of it. And then

2:24:49membership options,

2:24:52supers or gifting, YouTube shopping, so

2:24:56you could link products in your videos.

2:24:57It's kind of like affiliates, and player

2:25:01for education.

2:25:04Now, YouTube monetization, I'm just

2:25:05going to read off of my notes here

2:25:07because there's two different tiers.

2:25:10There's audience-funded income, which is

2:25:11like supers and membership. So, it's

2:25:14where your audience are kind of paying.

2:25:16You can get access to that or qualify

2:25:18for that when you hit 500 subscribers,

2:25:21you have 3,000 watch hours in the last

2:25:2412 months. So, 500 subs and then 3,000

2:25:29watch hours.

2:25:32Or if you're focusing on shorts, you

2:25:34need 30 or 3 million shorts views in the

2:25:36last 30 days. So, that unlocks fan

2:25:38funding. Then to get access to like the

2:25:40main monetization, you do need 1,000

2:25:45subscribers and 4,000

2:25:48watch hours in the last 12 months. And

2:25:50then that gives you access to all

2:25:52monetization on YouTube. Honestly, I

2:25:54really don't think Instagram's

2:25:56monetization is that good. I've never

2:25:59heard good things. I don't have a good

2:26:01experience with it. I have never heard

2:26:03of an Instagram creator being like,

2:26:04"Yeah, I make all of my money on

2:26:06Instagram monetization." It's usually

2:26:08like brand collaborations or selling

2:26:09digital products. But I do hear people

2:26:13saying they are making full-time incomes

2:26:17with both TikTok and YouTube. If

2:26:20platform monetization is your goal, one

2:26:23of these two are going to be your best

2:26:25bet. If you're short-form creator,

2:26:26TikTok. If you're long-form creator,

2:26:29YouTube. Because remember, YouTube's

2:26:31going to take you a little bit longer,

2:26:32but the monetization is pretty good,

2:26:35pretty high over here. TikTok's quicker.

2:26:38It'll work best with like TikTok shop

2:26:40here. And even like maybe live. So,

2:26:43again, depends on your goals. Now, let's

2:26:46move on to my personal favorite, and

2:26:48that is creating a digital product. I

2:26:50personally think every single creator

2:26:51can benefit from selling their own

2:26:53digital products. Just like having a

2:26:54freebie, offering a digital product is

2:26:56going to be so so so powerful because

2:26:59it's you can set it up in a way where

2:27:01it's passive income. You create it one

2:27:03time, you put it in your link in bio,

2:27:06and it's constantly generating revenue

2:27:08for you as you grow. My personal

2:27:10favorite way to set up your digital

2:27:12product is if you have a freebie, you

2:27:14can set up an email automation so that

2:27:18people are up-sold to your paid digital

2:27:22product. Let's say this is like a $29

2:27:24product. Anytime somebody downloads your

2:27:27freebie,

2:27:28you set up a sequence in Stan Store

2:27:31where they get to the delivery email,

2:27:34right? They're like, "Hey, here's your

2:27:35freebie. Woo." And then maybe like a day

2:27:38later, they get a little educational

2:27:41email about Let's say this freebie is 50

2:27:45hooks to increase engagement on your

2:27:47Instagram reels, right? This one is

2:27:49Here's some extra tips for going making

2:27:52viral reels. And then this one is like a

2:27:55testimonial of Here's how Jess grew

2:27:58100,000 followers on Instagram in less

2:28:00than 6 months. And then you have like

2:28:03this boom. If you want to create viral

2:28:05reels, here is a $29 mini course that's

2:28:09going to teach you how to grow to

2:28:11100,000 followers, right? So, like this

2:28:15digital product relates to the freebie,

2:28:18which was like 50 real reels hooks to

2:28:22increase engagement. And then

2:28:24ultimately, people probably want more

2:28:26followers. Naturally, they're connected.

2:28:29That way you never really have to sell

2:28:31cuz some people don't like selling. But

2:28:33you have the emails do it for you, and

2:28:36all of that is just set up again in your

2:28:38Stan Store. Digital product approach is

2:28:40going to be similar to a freebie

2:28:42approach where it's like, "Oh, identify

2:28:43a problem, create a solution." Knowing

2:28:46that people will always pay for

2:28:48convenience, let's do some examples

2:28:50together. Industry, problem, solution.

2:28:55If we're in the social media industry,

2:28:58specifically content creator tips like

2:29:01myself, maybe a problem that people

2:29:04face, they have a hard time landing

2:29:07brand collaborations or they don't know

2:29:09how to even work with brands, how the

2:29:12heck to set their rates or anything.

2:29:16Maybe my initial solution, land collab

2:29:20solution, is okay, here's some free

2:29:23pitch templates. Here are how you can

2:29:26write emails and land brand

2:29:28collaborations. Pitch email templates.

2:29:32So, that's the free solution. And then,

2:29:35later, the more advanced solution or

2:29:38transformation I could offer them is

2:29:40like a collab master bundle. This is

2:29:46going to be everything you need to land

2:29:49brand collaborations. Not only is this

2:29:51going to be extra pitch templates, but

2:29:55it's also going to show examples of how

2:29:58those pitches were used, negotiation

2:30:01email templates. It's also going to have

2:30:04a rates calculator and a dashboard, like

2:30:09a Notion calendar, to track all

2:30:12collaborations so that you could stay

2:30:14organized and grow your income as a

2:30:17content creator landing brand

2:30:19collaborations. So, this is the one that

2:30:21I could charge for. Same pain point,

2:30:24brand collabs. We solved the initial

2:30:26interest, which is okay, how do I land

2:30:28them? Pitch templates. Okay, well, like,

2:30:30now that you're landing them, what else?

2:30:33Well, you need to learn how to

2:30:34negotiate. You need to learn how to set

2:30:35your rates. You need to organize your

2:30:37brand collabs. So, this is like that

2:30:38initial pain point, that entry point of,

2:30:41okay, let me solve this one thing for

2:30:43you, and then that's going to probably

2:30:45lead more problems down the line and

2:30:47you're going to need answers to those.

2:30:48So, the paid one is going to be down the

2:30:50line, here is how to solve the rest of

2:30:53that problem. That is one example.

2:30:55Another example, let's say you are in

2:30:57the gardening niche or industry.

2:31:00Solution or problem somebody faces is

2:31:03they never know what soil to use when

2:31:06repotting plants or plant planting the

2:31:10seasonal seeds, they never know what

2:31:12soil to use. So, your solution, maybe

2:31:16you have like a soil recipe book, which

2:31:18is actually a thing, recipe book with

2:31:21over like 20 different soil options

2:31:24depending on what the person is

2:31:25planting, repotting, etc., indoor,

2:31:28outdoor, all the things. This could be

2:31:31the free thing. It helps with that first

2:31:34pain point. It's like soil, planting,

2:31:36right? That first pain point. And then

2:31:39down the line that'll probably open up

2:31:41other pain points. Even though you know

2:31:42the soil, okay, well, now how do you

2:31:44actually care for the plant? It's going

2:31:46to be a full plant care guide, never

2:31:50kill another plant again, right? That's

2:31:53like the subtitle. And this is going to

2:31:55include how to identify different pot

2:31:58sizes,

2:32:00when to plant certain

2:32:02plants depending on the season,

2:32:04lighting,

2:32:06watering, making sure a plant doesn't

2:32:08die, how to identify how to fix a plant

2:32:11if it's dying, like identifying

2:32:12different issues. So, it's like a full

2:32:14plant care guide. Again, you can work on

2:32:17like craft the title to make it sound

2:32:19even catchier with

2:32:21Chat GPT, but this is kind of how my

2:32:23brain works when creating a digital

2:32:25product is the freebie helps with that

2:32:27first pain point. Somebody wants it.

2:32:29They're like, this is what I want right

2:32:31now. It might not be like what they

2:32:32need, but they want it. And then then

2:32:35this is going to deliver on the rest of

2:32:37the need and the rest of the path. For

2:32:39tools with creating your digital

2:32:40product, Canva, my students and I, we've

2:32:43all used Canva for creating digital

2:32:45products. And then, of course, set it up

2:32:47and sell it through Stan. That setup is

2:32:50literally so easy. You go to your store,

2:32:52new product, sell digital product, you

2:32:54set your price, you upload your file.

2:32:56Boom shakalaka, you're able to make

2:32:58money. It shows up in your Stan store

2:33:00and you get 100% of whatever. That's one

2:33:03of the things that I love about Stan is

2:33:04there's a lot of other link in bio tools

2:33:06that actually charge per transaction.

2:33:08So, if you're selling something for $27,

2:33:10that link in bio tool will actually take

2:33:1210% or whatever percentage of every

2:33:15transaction. Whereas with Stan store,

2:33:17you're paying $29 a month and if

2:33:20somebody buys a $27 product, you get the

2:33:22$27. So, that's what I love about that.

2:33:25Of course, they have another tier for

2:33:28like create the pro version, which is I

2:33:30think $99 a month. That's for the

2:33:33advanced email automations and funnels,

2:33:35but if you just want to set up your Stan

2:33:37store, set up your freebie, set up your

2:33:39digital product to sell, set up make

2:33:41money, $29 a month. No, this video is

2:33:44not sponsored by Stan. I have worked

2:33:46with them in the past and I am a like an

2:33:48ambassador for them and I've been since

2:33:50the beginning of time. I just genuinely

2:33:52love what they're doing. I believe in

2:33:55their product. Now, we'll talk about how

2:33:56to make money with your digital product

2:33:59in a second, but what I want to first

2:34:01talk about, identifying what to make as

2:34:04a digital product can be the same

2:34:05process as identifying what to make for

2:34:07a freebie. The using Pinterest, studying

2:34:10your niche neighbors, seeing what they

2:34:11are selling and ask yourself as if

2:34:13that's something you want to sell or

2:34:15even the answer can come from your

2:34:17audience. I have a student who she's in

2:34:18like the growth phase where she's just

2:34:20getting started on YouTube and she's

2:34:22just creating vlog content there. And

2:34:25right now, she's just not able to come

2:34:29up with the right digital product. It

2:34:31just doesn't feel right for her and

2:34:33that's okay because I think as you grow,

2:34:36sometimes the answer will come from your

2:34:38audience themselves. They will ask you,

2:34:40hey, how do you do XYZ? Or oh my gosh, I

2:34:43need all the products you recommend for

2:34:45curly hair cuz she does curly hair

2:34:47content. And so, maybe her freebie is

2:34:50going to be that list of like all the

2:34:52products you need for curly hair and

2:34:54then like the order in which to apply

2:34:55them. So, that could be the free

2:34:56product, but those ideas can come over

2:34:59time. It might not be something that you

2:35:01set up right now. It might be something

2:35:02that you set up later, but the sooner

2:35:04the better because the sooner your

2:35:06income streams are set up, the sooner

2:35:08you're going to be making money. So,

2:35:10that's why I like to be thinking about

2:35:12monetization in the beginning. That way,

2:35:14if you have that clarity of knowing what

2:35:16you want to make money for, you can set

2:35:18that up and start that from the very

2:35:19beginning. It doesn't matter how many

2:35:21followers you have, you can start making

2:35:22money, but um sometimes that clarity

2:35:25doesn't come until a little bit later.

2:35:26All right, let's talk about working

2:35:29brand collabs. We have changed batteries

2:35:32on everything like 500 times. We are in

2:35:35the home stretch. Everything is dying.

2:35:37Cameras, mics, iPad, pencil. Okay,

2:35:42iPad's not too bad, but the pencil keeps

2:35:44dying. So, we're going to make the most

2:35:47and keep doing as much as we can before

2:35:49everything goes kaput. When it comes to

2:35:51brand collaborations, there's some tips

2:35:54that you can implement to get started

2:35:57with working with brands. first talk

2:35:59about how to get started and getting on

2:36:01brands' radars. So, let's say getting

2:36:05started. If you want to get free lenses,

2:36:09start making content with your Sony

2:36:11camera about lenses. If you don't have

2:36:14them, do the green screen screenshot

2:36:16talking about different lenses and

2:36:18product reviews. Start creating content

2:36:20now that's going to capture the brand's

2:36:22attention. You can even tag the brand in

2:36:25your content that you're creating. For

2:36:27example, for me, I totally manifested

2:36:29this, but I wanted a new espresso

2:36:31machine and I had started posting coffee

2:36:34content on my It's Modern Millie TikTok

2:36:37and Instagram. And coffee has obviously

2:36:40nothing to do with teaching content

2:36:41creators how to make content, but like I

2:36:44had said, I need to figure out a way to

2:36:46integrate content creation to my

2:36:48lifestyle, so I started filming my

2:36:50morning coffee. And instead of like

2:36:52coffee tips, coffee recipes, I started

2:36:54storytelling and sharing how I got

2:36:56started as a content creator, creator

2:36:58tips that I wish I knew when I was

2:37:00getting started. And just from creating

2:37:03these creator tips series videos through

2:37:06visual coffee content, I got sent a new

2:37:09espresso machine cuz the brand's like,

2:37:11hey, we want you to use this espresso

2:37:13machine in your content. So, create the

2:37:14content now that you want to capture

2:37:17brands' attention. Even the first big

2:37:20name brand that I worked with, I only

2:37:22landed the collaboration because I kept

2:37:25tagging them and engaging with them on

2:37:27socials. It was on Instagram. I had just

2:37:29hit 10,000 followers and it was Forever

2:37:3121. At the time I was doing portrait

2:37:34modeling. I wasn't teaching content

2:37:35creation. I was doing portrait modeling

2:37:38and I was always wearing Forever 21. So,

2:37:40I tagged them in every single post where

2:37:42I was wearing their clothes. And if they

2:37:44posted something on their stories, I was

2:37:46replying to their stories. I was

2:37:47commenting on their content. And sure

2:37:49enough, I get a collab with Forever 21

2:37:51and I get $500 to buy whatever the heck

2:37:54I want at the store and post about it.

2:37:56That was literally it. So, that's what

2:37:58you need to do. You need to start

2:37:59creating content now relevant to the

2:38:02collabs that you want. And don't be

2:38:04afraid to tag the brand. Mention them in

2:38:07your stories. Post about the content,

2:38:10the brands that you love now. If there's

2:38:11a specific face serum that you love,

2:38:15post about it now. Make content about it

2:38:17now. When brands see that you're already

2:38:19creating branded content, they're more

2:38:21likely to want to work with you. And

2:38:22same with your audience. If you're

2:38:24already talking about products that you

2:38:26love, it's not going to be whiplash to

2:38:29your audience when you get a brand

2:38:31collab because they're like, oh yeah,

2:38:32Sally Mae already talks about the her

2:38:35favorite coffee syrups. Oh, it makes

2:38:37sense that this brand partnered with her

2:38:39cuz she's been talking about these

2:38:41coffee syrups for a dang long time. So,

2:38:44tag them. Create content now. Start

2:38:46talking about it. Share your favorite

2:38:48products. That is how you practice and

2:38:50build the skill of creating content that

2:38:53feels organic and natural when relevant

2:38:57to products and brands instead of like

2:38:59you never create a branded thing ever.

2:39:01You never talk about your favorite

2:39:02products and then you get this brand

2:39:03that's like we want you to talk about

2:39:04our tea and then you're like sitting

2:39:06there with their tea and you're like,

2:39:08"Ah, I don't know how to talk about a

2:39:09product to my audience."

2:39:10"This is my favorite tea." And then you

2:39:12don't know what to do because you hadn't

2:39:13been practicing. So, start creating now.

2:39:17We already talked about consistency

2:39:19before, so that's important. I'll put it

2:39:22here just as the reminder. We also

2:39:24talked about putting your email in your

2:39:28link in your bio. So, put your email in

2:39:31bio. There are third-party tools that

2:39:33brands use to scout out content creators

2:39:36and those third-party tools, they're

2:39:39often on their laptop top desktop. And

2:39:41what they could do is they could filter

2:39:42by creators who have emails listed or

2:39:45they could even just search dot com and

2:39:48anyone who has dot com in their bio will

2:39:50appear in search results. It doesn't

2:39:52matter if you have the email button on

2:39:55your Instagram profile because when

2:39:57you're on desktop, if they go to your

2:39:59Instagram profile, they don't see the

2:40:01email button. So, they don't have any

2:40:03way to contact you if your email is not

2:40:05in your bio. Make sure your email is

2:40:07easy to find, easy to access. Same thing

2:40:09with TikTok. Same thing on YouTube. Make

2:40:12sure it's public and easy to access.

2:40:15Now, another thing that you could do is

2:40:17to join third-party platforms. I talked

2:40:20about how brands use third-party tools

2:40:24and platforms to scout out content

2:40:26creators. There are third-party

2:40:28platforms for you as a content creator

2:40:30where you could apply to campaigns and

2:40:32apply to brand collaboration

2:40:34opportunities. My favorite is AspireIQ.

2:40:38This is the platform where I landed my

2:40:40first paid brand collaboration ever. And

2:40:43I've landed multiple collabs through

2:40:45AspireIQ paid. My first paid collab was

2:40:48like not great, not authentic. I just

2:40:51said yes to it because I was like, "Oh

2:40:52my gosh, it's paid." It was like a

2:40:54skinny tea product which regrets. Don't

2:40:58just say yes because it's money. That's

2:41:00silly. But then I ended up getting a

2:41:03what was another paid one I did?

2:41:05Hippeas, the stacks. Oh my gosh, love

2:41:07Hippeas and the paid partnerships that I

2:41:10did multiple that I did with them was

2:41:12through AspireIQ. Another one is hashtag

2:41:15paid. There's Popular Pay. There's

2:41:19Obviously

2:41:20LY. And then if you are just interested

2:41:23in UGC specifically, you have Join

2:41:26Brands. That's a really good one.

2:41:28Honestly though, just from doing these

2:41:32three, you can automatically start

2:41:34getting PR and partnerships. This one

2:41:38will help increase the chances of

2:41:40getting those opportunities for paid

2:41:42partnerships because those will often

2:41:44come via email. And then this is just

2:41:47like that extra cherry on top. If you're

2:41:48not seeing a lot of traction, you can

2:41:50absolutely do the third-party platforms.

2:41:53Now, when you're comfortable and you

2:41:55have some videos under your belt where

2:41:56you're like, "Yeah, I'm comfortable

2:41:58talking about products in my content."

2:42:00You can pitch to brands, too. The

2:42:03conversion of landing a paid collab on a

2:42:07first pitch is low, but pitching is a

2:42:10great way to make connections and

2:42:13introduce yourself to a brand. Get your

2:42:15foot in the door with the brand. It's

2:42:17not to oh, I'm going to land a paid

2:42:18collab just from pitching this brand.

2:42:21That's not the intention. It's to create

2:42:23connections and see if there's a space

2:42:26for you to work with the brand in the

2:42:28future. Let's talk about pitching for a

2:42:31second. When it comes to pitching, if

2:42:33you like really want to get the ball

2:42:35rolling, typically you could send and

2:42:38schedule 10 pitches every single week.

2:42:41And again, the intention is not to make

2:42:44money. It's to create a genuine

2:42:46connection with a brand and genuinely

2:42:48ask, "Is there a way I can support you

2:42:51with your business goals right now? Are

2:42:53you exploring influencer marketing? Do

2:42:55you have upcoming campaigns that I can

2:42:57assist with? I saw that you recently

2:43:00launched this product. Is that something

2:43:02that would be helpful to post to my

2:43:03audience about?" So, it's genuinely

2:43:05wanting to help and spread the word.

2:43:07Pitching comes from a more authentic

2:43:09place when it's a brand that you already

2:43:11love and use and post about and you can

2:43:14use that as proof in a pitch. I'm going

2:43:16to pop a free pitch template that I have

2:43:20used in the past to create connection.

2:43:22It works. It's like a timeless one. It

2:43:24always works and it's a great way to get

2:43:26your foot in the door and introduce

2:43:27yourself to brands. And like I said,

2:43:30you're maybe pitching 10 brands a week.

2:43:32You're not expecting a response. Okay?

2:43:35You don't have to do 10 brands a week,

2:43:36either. It could be like five brands a

2:43:38week. So, let's say five to 10 brands a

2:43:40week if you like pitching and brand

2:43:42collabs is your main goal. You're

2:43:44pitching maybe five to 10 times a week

2:43:47and you're sending the emails probably I

2:43:49would say on like a Tuesday or a

2:43:51Wednesday, maybe earlier in the morning

2:43:55because Monday they're catching up from

2:43:57the weekend. Friday, they don't want to

2:43:59respond to anybody. So, Tuesday,

2:44:00Wednesday is kind of like the sweet spot

2:44:02and I would say probably before a lunch

2:44:05break.

2:44:06So, figure out where that business is

2:44:08based. Figure out the time zone and then

2:44:11make sure you're sending your pitches

2:44:13before someone's lunch break because

2:44:14after lunch, we're snoozing. We don't

2:44:16want to be productive. So, ideally it's

2:44:18like a morning pitch that you're

2:44:20scheduling to auto send. And then when

2:44:24you pitch, don't do attachments,

2:44:26friends. Okay? No attachments. That is

2:44:29how your stuff ends up in spam, in junk.

2:44:32You could do hyperlinks instead. Like if

2:44:35you want to hyperlink to your TikTok or

2:44:37your Instagram page, that's great. I

2:44:40want you to keep it short and sweet,

2:44:42like three paragraphs, three to four

2:44:45paragraphs. And by paragraphs, I don't

2:44:47mean there's like 20 sentences per

2:44:49paragraph. Maybe there's like three to

2:44:50five sentences per paragraph. Short,

2:44:52sweet, to the point. And again, you are

2:44:55going in with a service-based

2:44:59mindset. Okay? How can you help the

2:45:02brand? That is a successful partnership

2:45:04when you work together on a main goal as

2:45:07opposed to "What can I get from you? Can

2:45:10you send me free stuff? Can you pay me

2:45:12ish?" That's not what we're doing. Brand

2:45:14collaborations are the most successful

2:45:16and brands will keep coming back to you

2:45:19if you're always working with them to

2:45:21achieve said goal. Now, something I

2:45:23forgot to touch on was the fact that

2:45:26brands love a targeted audience. They

2:45:29love a targeted audience. If you your

2:45:32audience is moms and they're a like a

2:45:36postpartum workout set brand, oh,

2:45:39they're going to love to work with you

2:45:40because your audience is exactly their

2:45:42audience. So, having a very specific

2:45:45audience and a demographic of maybe like

2:45:47US-based or a city-based or knowing your

2:45:51ratios of like demographic male-female,

2:45:54country, all the things, knowing those

2:45:56demographics are huge pulls for brands

2:45:58because you can show them be like, "Hey,

2:46:00guess what? My audience is literally

2:46:02your audience and that's why we can work

2:46:04together." So, that is something I had

2:46:06forgot to mention on the how to get

2:46:07started, what's important for brands,

2:46:09what they look for. When it comes to how

2:46:10much to charge, there is no set

2:46:14standard. Unfortunately, I think the

2:46:17kind of what people say is they say to

2:46:20charge 1 cent per your follower number,

2:46:24but that doesn't take into account like,

2:46:27I don't know, your experience as a

2:46:29content creator or even your expertise.

2:46:32Like if you are a certified

2:46:35you've been a certified fitness coach

2:46:37and you've been coaching for 15 years,

2:46:40that doesn't take into account your

2:46:42certifications, your level of expertise,

2:46:44your not only experience as a content

2:46:46creator working with brands, but your

2:46:47expertise level in your field. Doesn't

2:46:49take into account the time that it takes

2:46:52for you to create said content. So, I I

2:46:54don't love this method. I it just

2:46:57doesn't calculate everything that you

2:46:59need. So, I actually have something

2:47:02average impact level

2:47:04times follower number plus contract

2:47:09terms. This kind of general formula that

2:47:12I use. Again, it is not the only way.

2:47:14There is no set formula. This is just

2:47:16like a starting point that I use because

2:47:18I feel like it works best to calculating

2:47:20all of your different levels of

2:47:22expertise. So, let's say you have 10,000

2:47:23followers and then you want to figure

2:47:25out what your average impact rate level

2:47:29is, which I could talk about brand

2:47:31collaborations for literally hours, but

2:47:33I don't have hours. Follower number

2:47:35times average impact level plus you need

2:47:37to know how to read a contract. So,

2:47:38you're going to want contract terms.

2:47:40Average impact level, this takes into

2:47:42account your engagement rate because

2:47:45brands do look at that. It takes into

2:47:48account your experience with brand

2:47:51collaborations,

2:47:53your expertise,

2:47:55and your impact. How well known are you

2:47:59in your industry right now? So, like on

2:48:02a scale of one to five, how good is your

2:48:05engagement rate? This is like very

2:48:08tight. I I'm kind of breezing through

2:48:10this because I have a whole video deep

2:48:12diving on this formula. So, if you want

2:48:15like a full deep dive video on the

2:48:16formulas, I have like platform-specific

2:48:18videos. An Instagram one, how to

2:48:20calculate your rates for Instagram,

2:48:22TikTok, YouTube. I have videos on all

2:48:24those. Again, free on my channel because

2:48:26each platform is a little different.

2:48:28Like for YouTube, there's long-form

2:48:30collabs and then there's shorts. And

2:48:31then there's also like integrations,

2:48:33which is a 30-to-60-second mention in a

2:48:35YouTube video. But then there's also a

2:48:37dedicated YouTube partnership, which

2:48:39means they want the whole video to be

2:48:41it. But then there's also like an

2:48:43another type of integration where it's

2:48:44like 2 minutes. So, there's again, so

2:48:47many different things that go into it,

2:48:48but this is kind of the summary. On a

2:48:50scale of 1 to 5, how great is your

2:48:54engagement rate? Let's say it's a two.

2:48:56What's your experience level with

2:48:57collabs? Never done collabs. Your

2:48:59expertise, pretty solid. Impact, not

2:49:03well-known. Add these up, 2 + 2 + 1 is

2:49:075. There are you finding the average, so

2:49:095 / 4. Let's do that. Oh, where is 5 /

2:49:144? 1.25.

2:49:17So, this

2:49:19turn that into a percentage. That's your

2:49:22average impact level. Again, I know

2:49:24math, boo. That's what you'll multiply

2:49:28followers for a starting base rate, 125.

2:49:32This is for the smallest

2:49:35like a

2:49:36a mention starting. And then you're

2:49:38going to add the contract terms, okay?

2:49:41So, this is kind of like the general

2:49:42formula that I use. I have a full

2:49:44breakdown, but I do want to quickly talk

2:49:46about contract terms because I want to

2:49:47make sure you're not taken advantage of

2:49:50when working with brands and things to

2:49:53look out for. First thing to look out

2:49:55for is usage rights. This is going to

2:50:00state in a contract who owns the content

2:50:03that you're creating and what they're

2:50:04allowed to do with them. So, if the

2:50:07brand wants to obtain usage rights to

2:50:10your content, they could obtain organic

2:50:14rights, where it's like, "Hey, we could

2:50:15post your content to our socials." Or

2:50:18paid, "Hey, we could run ads to your

2:50:22content." Or full, "Hey, we can use your

2:50:27content however the heck we want. We

2:50:28could put it on a billboard. We could

2:50:30put it in ads. We could put it on our

2:50:32website, in our email list." Full and

2:50:36the big red flag, perpetual.

2:50:40You'll see this as perpetual, in

2:50:42perpetuity. This is like, "Hey, we

2:50:44actually own your content for forever

2:50:47and can do whatever the heck we want

2:50:49with it." So, if you ever see perpetual,

2:50:51in perpetuity in a contract, that, my

2:50:54dear, is red red red red

2:50:58red flag.

2:51:01Red flag. We do not want that. These

2:51:04three you can charge for and you will

2:51:07charge extra for.

2:51:09And so, these three are fine and usually

2:51:12there's an expiration date. So, it's

2:51:14like, "Oh, we want to obtain organic

2:51:16usage for 3 months." Or, "We want to run

2:51:18ads to this for 6 months." And you will

2:51:21charge for that.

2:51:22We had that 125 as like our starting

2:51:25rate. So, if they want paid usage

2:51:28rights, you're going to add paid usage

2:51:31to your price. Now, there's also

2:51:35exclusivity. Ugh, I love talking about

2:51:37this stuff. Okay. Exclusivity, this

2:51:39means that the brand is saying you

2:51:41cannot work with certain competitors.

2:51:44Ideally, in the contract, you ask them

2:51:47to name them specifically. So, if you're

2:51:50working with Colgate toothpaste and they

2:51:53want 60 days of exclusivity, you want to

2:51:56see in the contract, "Okay, well, what

2:51:58are those brands that you don't want me

2:51:59to work with? Is it Crest? Is it Hello?

2:52:03Is it What have you?" So, you're going

2:52:05to ask, "Okay, can you list out the

2:52:07brands?" If it's 60 days of exclusivity,

2:52:10you can charge for that. Typically, 30

2:52:13days is included because that's just

2:52:15like natural. Like, I'm not going to

2:52:17talk about a competitor in the next 30

2:52:19days. That doesn't make sense. It's not

2:52:21organic. But anything beyond 30 days,

2:52:23you can charge for, okay? I guess

2:52:25another term, this isn't anything that

2:52:27you would necessarily charge for

2:52:29technically, but deliverables is usually

2:52:32like the the listed content that's being

2:52:36asked of you. So, it's like, "Oh, we

2:52:39want three reels, two story mentions,

2:52:45and then the reels repurposed to Tik

2:52:48Tok." That's the deliverables. That's

2:52:50the ask. That's what you were going to

2:52:52be delivering to the brand. So, it's

2:52:54just like a good term to know that's

2:52:56usually what's listed out. It's under

2:52:58the deliverables that you'll be creating

2:53:00for the brand. Something else to pay

2:53:02attention to is like the turnaround

2:53:06time or when you need to post a video

2:53:08by. If it's a quick turnaround, say

2:53:11under 2 weeks, you could usually charge

2:53:14extra for a quick turnaround. Money. And

2:53:18same thing with revisions.

2:53:22How many revisions do they get for free?

2:53:25Check see if that's in the contract

2:53:27because then if if this isn't mentioned

2:53:29anywhere in the contract, you could be

2:53:31going back and forth 10 times and you're

2:53:32like, "I have to keep refilming this

2:53:34because there wasn't a revision clause."

2:53:36So, I do like up to two revisions

2:53:39included and then after that X amount

2:53:43per additional revisions. You could even

2:53:45charge extra for if the brand wants you

2:53:49to put their link in your bio. So, you

2:53:51could charge extra for that. So, all of

2:53:53these things are things to consider and

2:53:55add to your final total. Again, there's

2:53:58no standard set rate. Usually, I'm going

2:54:02to be quite frank and honest with you.

2:54:05Most of the time content creators are

2:54:06pulling numbers straight out of thin

2:54:08air, okay? We're making numbers up. And

2:54:11what you charge for one brand might be

2:54:15different from another brand. Full

2:54:16transparency. Lady, where's my phone? My

2:54:19dog's behind me.

2:54:20Full transparency, let me tell you how

2:54:22much I charged for like a reel with one

2:54:26brand versus another brand. For one

2:54:28brand, a reel where I was mentioning

2:54:31their product, it was $3,000 for a

2:54:35different brand. And that was because

2:54:36they bundled multiple reels, so it was

2:54:393,000 per reel. Another brand, they

2:54:41wanted one singular dedicated reel that

2:54:46they could run ads to for a certain

2:54:48amount of time and that was $7,000.

2:54:51Another brand, a reel was closer to

2:54:53$10,000. Another brand, $3,500.

2:54:57So, it's going to be different depending

2:55:00on all of these things and even the

2:55:03brand. Like, if it's a big name like

2:55:05Forever 21, they may have a budget for a

2:55:07bigger spend and that they might have

2:55:10more strict asks versus a smaller brand

2:55:13or a small business, they may not have

2:55:15the budget and that's okay. You don't

2:55:16have to charge a ton for every single

2:55:19brand collab, but just keep that in

2:55:21mind. Numbers are going to change for

2:55:23every single collaboration. And so, what

2:55:26I say to you then is if you're going to

2:55:28be charging for brand collaborations, if

2:55:31you say a number and you're like, "Cool,

2:55:33this is going to be $300." And a brand's

2:55:35like, "Okay, let's move forward." That

2:55:37is a sign next time you need to charge a

2:55:40higher rate because if they immediately

2:55:41said yes after you said a number,

2:55:44you probably could have gone higher and

2:55:46then negotiated down. So, I always say

2:55:48try to say that number that's a little

2:55:49higher because you could always

2:55:50negotiate down, but if you say 100, it's

2:55:54harder to go back and ask, "Oh,

2:55:55actually, it's going to be $500 now."

2:55:58There's so much that goes into

2:55:59negotiation, too, but there's kind of

2:56:01this basics of rates and what you could

2:56:05charge for, some things that you could

2:56:07charge for and how things will affect

2:56:09your pricing. I could talk about brand

Drive Sustainable Career Growth

2:56:10collaborations for freaking forever, but

2:56:14I did want to wrap everything up with

2:56:16like, "Okay, how does all this come

2:56:18together?" Because you've been here with

2:56:20me from the beginning of this video and

2:56:21there's probably some loose ends that I

2:56:24want to tie up and give you like your

2:56:26ultimate strategy that is going to drive

2:56:29the needle forward and move the needle

2:56:30forward for you, your business, and make

2:56:33sure that you are sticking staying

2:56:35focused and having a business that is

2:56:38realistic to maintain and constantly

2:56:41keeping your business running. So, how

2:56:42do you come up with a strategy for that?

2:56:44Okay. There are four main drivers that

2:56:48are going to drive the intention of your

2:56:50content. There's going to be money,

2:56:52right? You need to make money as a

2:56:53content creator. Growing your email list

2:56:56because all of you have an email list.

2:56:58There's going to be nurturing your

2:57:01audience and making sure people who do

2:57:03follow you are connected or even like

2:57:05growing your audience. So, there's

2:57:07focusing on your audience. And then

2:57:09there's also you, making sure you are

2:57:11having fun. You're still creating videos

2:57:14that you want even if they don't have

2:57:16strategy. So, these are kind of like the

2:57:17four main drivers that really will keep

2:57:21your business running and have your

2:57:23business well-rounded as a content

2:57:25creator. You are going to use these as

2:57:27like the big picture to lead and guide

2:57:30your content. Now, we talked about

2:57:33different content pillars or content

2:57:35buckets or life interests, right? With

2:57:38content pillars, there is like those

2:57:39subtopics. So, if I teach social media,

2:57:42it could be like Instagram growth.

2:57:45And then how to make money. And then how

2:57:48to film, right? Those are the subtopics

2:57:51under content. Let's do my lifestyle

2:57:54example, right? So, if my life pillars

2:57:57or those interests that I had were

2:58:00coffee,

2:58:01mom life, and workouts. If those are

2:58:05like the pillars that I'm rotating

2:58:06between topic-wise,

2:58:09great. We just want to write that down.

2:58:11Then we have our method of delivery.

2:58:13These are We have face to camera,

2:58:17voiceover, B-roll, reaction, and then

2:58:20trend. Okay, those are the ones we went

2:58:22over. As a reminder, our value pillars,

2:58:25we have educational,

2:58:27entertaining, relatable, and

2:58:30inspirational. This is how you're going

2:58:34to drive your content decisions. Boop.

2:58:38Boop. Okay. First, I want you to pick

2:58:40your intention. What do you want to

2:58:42grow? What do you want to focus on? If

2:58:45that is money, let's say one of your

2:58:48income streams is brand collabs, okay?

2:58:52So, I'm going to put brand collab here.

2:58:56You want to make money with brand

2:58:58collaborations. You're going to pick a

2:58:59pillar where you want to do brand

2:59:01collaborations. Let's say for me it was

2:59:03like that coffee content, and so I'm

2:59:05going to do a collab video related to

2:59:08coffee. I'm going to choose my format of

2:59:11delivery. Let's do face to camera, and

2:59:15it's going to be educational. That is

2:59:17how I'm going to come up with my

2:59:18content. So, maybe it's going to be a

2:59:23Ooh, okay. Ready? A coffee-related

2:59:25content where I'm talking to the camera,

2:59:27educational, that's going to attract

2:59:28brand collabs. I'm going to do how to

2:59:31use a Ninja Lux Cafe for the best iced

2:59:39lattes.

2:59:42Boom.

2:59:43I have a Ninja, so if I wanted to work

2:59:45with Ninja, boom, it attracts the brand.

2:59:48I will be sure to tag them.

2:59:50It is coffee-related, so it fits in my

2:59:52pillar. I'm going to talk to the camera

2:59:54and talk through how to

2:59:57use the Ninja, and this marks and checks

2:59:59off that educational value pillar. So,

3:00:01that's one way to create a piece of

3:00:04content that's going to drive income for

3:00:06my business. Let's do another example.

3:00:09If your goal is to grow your email list,

3:00:13and your freebie is uh ab separation

3:00:17healing for postpartum women,

3:00:21that kind of fits in like workouts and

3:00:23mom life. So, email list, I'm going to

3:00:26do workouts,

3:00:28and we already did face to camera, but

3:00:31maybe I want to do like a B-roll with

3:00:33trending audio, and I'm going to have

3:00:36this be inspirational. So, it's going to

3:00:39be maybe like a 7-second video with

3:00:43B-roll doing like an ab workout, and the

3:00:46text on screen, text hook, is going to

3:00:50be something like POV you heal your ab

3:00:54separation after having a baby and can

3:00:57finally work out without being in pain

3:00:59again. So, that's the POV hook text, and

3:01:03then the caption is call to action to

3:01:05the email list where you're directing

3:01:08people to download this workbook or this

3:01:10guide is going to teach them different

3:01:12exercises that they could do to heal

3:01:14their abs after having a baby. So,

3:01:16again, we're just trying to figure out,

3:01:18okay, how can we constantly make sure

3:01:20every piece of content is being

3:01:22intentional and touching on all of the

3:01:24things that we learned today. With

3:01:26audience, there's different approaches

3:01:28to that, so there's like audience growth

3:01:31or audience engagement. We already know

3:01:33growth strategies, but maybe with

3:01:35engagement that is replying to your

3:01:38audience's questions. Maybe they comment

3:01:40on a reel, and they're like, "Hey, how

3:01:42do you do this?" You make a video

3:01:44answering that question cuz it's

3:01:46directly from your audience. Maybe

3:01:47that's about mom life, balancing mom

3:01:49life with a newborn, and you do it as a

3:01:54voiceover,

3:01:56and it's a little bit entertaining cuz

3:01:57it's a vlog, but also educational

3:01:59because you're kind of talking through,

3:02:01okay, this is kind of how I balance mom

3:02:02life, and this is like what my

3:02:04day-to-day looks like. It's vlog style.

3:02:07So, that's nurturing your audience by

3:02:09posting about your one of your pillars.

3:02:11That is how you can create a sustainable

3:02:15career as a content creator. Anytime I'm

3:02:17posting, I'm asking myself, okay, what

3:02:19is the intention with this video? Is

3:02:21this driving traffic to an email list?

3:02:24Is this driving traffic to a course that

3:02:27I have? Is this going to attract brands

3:02:29that I want to work with? Or is this a

3:02:31brand collab post, right? It's a brand

3:02:33collab post, and then also at the end of

3:02:36the day you want to make sure you are

3:02:37creating whatever the heck you want. So,

3:02:40layering in and making sure there's

3:02:43space for you to like, it's okay to not

3:02:45have strategy sometimes, and you got

3:02:47really inspired to create a really cool

3:02:50book-related idea where you're like, "Oh

3:02:51my gosh, there was a little free library

3:02:53in my neighborhood, and I wanted to redo

3:02:55it and repaint it and give fresh books

3:02:57in there, so I'm going to just do a fun

3:02:58vlog documenting that process because it

3:03:01is fun for me and I love it." So, this

3:03:04is how to make sure well-rounded you're

3:03:06hitting all these pillars that are going

3:03:07to drive your business as a content
