0:02go to church because we don't understand

0:04why God sent his son let me challenge

0:07you this morning you can't be

0:09discouraged unless your focus isn't on

0:10yourself your circumstances what it's

0:12costing you and what you have to do now

0:14because of this that or the other and if

0:16people are involved now your hearts even

0:18hardened you're mad at them and it's

0:19their fault and now you're a million

0:20miles away from the very heart of God

0:22that saved you from your sins

0:24how's that for straight talk

0:28look I've lived deceived enough in my

0:30life and I've hated enough in my life

0:33and I've been selfish enough in my life

0:36now the truths come their lights come

0:38and I finally understand freedom and

0:41they put me up here and give me a mic

0:42I'm gonna talk about it I'm gonna speak

0:44it from the rooftops and cut into

0:47religion and cut up this stuff that's a

0:50form of and not the power of all the

0:53sudden you can sing and wave two hands

0:55and do the flag thing and you still got

0:57animosity in your heart towards your

0:59spouse and that ain't cool and it

1:02doesn't reveal God and it messes people

1:04up and it's messing you up so I'm gonna

1:06talk about these things I'm not gonna

1:09point you out I'm going to say if it's

1:10you and the slipper fits kicked the

1:13thing off don't be sittin Arella and

1:14wear it kick it off and say that ain't

1:17my shoe to wear I was not made for

1:19animosity I was not made for rightness I

1:22was not made to be right I was made to

1:24be found right in the sight of God and I

1:27was made to live by his spirit and to

1:29make peace and walk in love and that

1:31ain't weak and that ain't a pushover

1:33that's Jesus yeah come on

1:40you ever get stripped naked and

1:42crucified for doing everything perfect

1:45you did things somewhat right and it was

1:48called wrong and you freaked out yeah

1:56come on when I got accused of something

1:59that I didn't say or do and they said

2:00that's what I meant and I didn't mean it

2:02I freaked out why cuz it's all about me

2:05and I'm mad that you're thinking that

2:08about me and judging me and not seeing

2:10my heart Jesus

2:13everything flawless and perfect and got

2:15treated like he was completely wrong and

2:17he never said a word I don't know about

2:20you but I'm gonna follow that which is

2:23in the end that's all that's going to

2:25matter and faith believes that and one

2:27day I'm going to stand before him and

2:29look into his fiery eyes and amazing

2:31eyes full of life and glory and I sure

2:35don't want to be going

2:36oops Jesus I too believed you more if it

2:40wasn't for so-and-so well why didn't you

2:43answer my prayer I mean if it wasn't for

2:46my spouse you know I tried a trial or

2:50you ain't even gonna be able to think

2:52that looking in the light of truth you

2:53just gonna go uh I believe lies i

2:57justified my flesh and I missed the mark

3:01of why I was here and I never walked out

3:04the things of the Spirit I did Church

3:06but I didn't become her I went to church

3:11but it was never who I was Wow and then

3:15hopefully you'll just cry and he'll

3:18drive every tear because he's merciful

3:19you just won't have a legacy like you

3:21could have but he'll still love you and

3:23hug you and receive you because he's

3:24amazing I don't know what that all

3:26looked like but I know I don't want to

3:28look in his eyes and go oops I know if

3:31it doesn't work then I don't want to let

3:32it work now if I won't be able to say it

3:35in that day why can I say it now and

3:37make it work and buy time that I don't

3:40have to give redeem the time the days

3:44are evil we're in the world were not of

3:47the world he who loves the things of the

3:50world does not have the love of the

3:53Father India and the things of the world

3:55the lust of the eyes and the lust of the

3:57flesh and the pride of life if you live

4:02in to be somebody in the eyes of men

4:03you're way off track if you're posting

4:51matter where you've been no matter what

4:54you've done he knows who he created you

4:57to be and he knows what you'll look like

4:58if you ever get this and you surrender

5:00and he knows that loving you is where

5:03it's at because you have purpose you

5:06have potential and you have destiny

5:08right in front of you and on your

5:10darkest day he never lost sight of that

5:14and love has never failed on your

5:17deepest journey of rebellion and

5:19willfulness he said you're so much more

5:22than that you have such a greater

5:25purpose and I'm going to keep loving you

5:28and one day you'll see that sure beats

5:31being ticked off frustrated getting

5:33under his skin and him giving up on us

5:36that's what we've all done to each other

5:39we hear somebody's name we haven't seen

5:42him for four years we hear their name

5:44and all we think of is the thing we

5:46don't like about him and that's how we

5:47identify we ain't done nothing right and

5:53he sees us for how he made us you think

6:00I understand this that I'm gonna have an

6:01attitude today he said she said tit for

6:04tat and I feel no friends I'm a believer

6:11I'm a Christian and I'm gonna follow him

6:16and tomorrow ain't the right day either

6:18does the gospel taught me this one thing

6:21if you can learn this one thing through

6:22this one session it'll pay great

6:24dividends if you just get one thing out

6:26of all I say this morning you just take

6:28this with you it will make

6:30such a difference in your everyday life

6:32you let the gospel teach you and through

6:34prayer you wake up and you establish

6:36this by saying it pin it on your mirror

6:38do whatever you got to do but get it in

6:41your heart this one thing that every day

6:43you wake up nobody owes you a thing that

6:54would challenge every hurt every offence

6:56every failed expectation it would take

6:58all the lines away and not the chips

7:00right off your shoulder nobody owes me a

7:04thing why

7:06because I owe no man anything but to

7:09love and it was the father's good

7:11pleasure to give me the kingdom so he

7:12gave me all things so I'm complete in

7:15him so now I'm not driven by need so now

7:19I wake up in the morning and I actually

7:21don't need you for me to be okay I need

7:27you to lock arms with me and be an army

7:30rising up and run this race and overtake

7:33the earth with his love and glory I need

7:36you to run with me but I don't need you

7:41to know who I am or be encouraged and

7:44because I don't need you to know who I

7:47am and be encouraged on finally position

7:50to love you because now you can't

7:54disappoint me hurt me break my heart and

7:56I don't have inner Turkey issues and I'm

7:58not Church shopping because I'm hurt and

8:00pastor is this and elder so-and-so is

8:03that and oh the devil's in that place no

8:07you're being real deceived he's a lot

8:08closer than that

8:22you wake up in the morning nobody owes

8:26you a thing you'll finally understand

8:29what freedom is that we sing about Jesus

8:33never said if any man come after me let

8:35him pray a prayer that qualifies him for

8:38heaven he said if any man comes after me

8:41which I love that because everybody's

8:43invited If any man the word man means

8:47human all inclusive it's not gender if

8:52any man woman child come after me let

8:56him first deny I'm concerned we don't

9:02preach that I'm concerned because people

9:06have been legalistic that we push that

9:08out of the message because we don't want

9:09people to hear us legalistic so we just

9:13make it beneficial hey if you hit a tree

9:16on the way home do you know where you're

9:18going if not pray this prayer that's how

9:22we present the gospel that's never how

9:25Jesus presented the gospel jesus said

9:28this thing will cost you what you never

9:30were in the first place

9:31life for yourself so you can get back to

9:35why you're here in the first place

9:37Christ in you the hope of glory what's

9:42the first thing a Christian has to do if

9:44he's going to follow Jesus deny himself

9:47why if you read Genesis one man wasn't

9:50made for himself he was made for the

9:52image of God but because we compare

9:55ourselves among ourselves and we'll

9:57weigh ourselves by our own track record

9:58we forfeit grace and life change and

10:01transformation so we think we are who

10:03we've been instead of who we can become

10:08so it's

10:09putting off the old and putting on the

10:10new we hide behind language and we do

10:12church and the whole time we can become

10:14her not being mean I'm left being

10:18judgmental

10:18there's too many schisms among us

10:20sometimes there's too many inner issues

10:22there's too many people jumping ship and

10:24skipping and hopping and hurt 90% of

10:27counseling and pastoral counseling is

10:29people struggling with each other and it

10:32proves we do not understand why God sent

10:35his son and somehow we think it all

10:38revolves around me and we're all caught

10:41up in God loving me in a superficial way

10:43to feel special because we don't feel

10:45special

10:46God loving me but it's not stopping with

10:48God loving me it's me becoming that same

10:51love see the finished work of the cross

10:55is not when a man prays a prayer to go

10:57to heaven the finished work of the cross

11:00is when his nature's restored back to

11:01love because then he's back to the

11:04beginning and then Redemption has its

11:06way and you bought back to original

11:09value your confession to go to heaven

11:14doesn't change lives your love does your

11:19promotion and your income increase and

11:21your provision and protection doesn't

11:23change lives

11:24it just blesses you as an individual

11:26that's not the goal of your Christianity

11:28the goal of your Christianity is walking

11:29in love the goal of your Christianity is

11:32going to work with an attitude that

11:34Jesus would have if he was in your shoes

11:36and he is the goal of Christianity is

11:41being betrayed and not living like you

11:42were betrayed if God lived like he was

11:47betrayed he would need some serious

11:49counsel on the night Jesus was betrayed

11:53he didn't tremble in his bottom lip and

11:55cry and say how can you do this to me he

11:59didn't say I've been there for you all

12:00this time poured out my life I mean I

12:03came from heaven into Mary I became a

12:05man trying to help you don't you get it

12:07no you guys are doing this bucking for

12:09visit for position and you say you're

12:11gonna die for me hey what are you ready

12:13to die for me when I could struck you're

12:14all running you're outta here bunch of

12:17losers

12:24see we didn't learn that from him

12:26because we never saw that in him this is

12:30how you know if you know him not believe

12:34he died on the cross not go to church

12:36not do daily vows and this is how you

12:37know you know him that on the night

12:40you're betrayed you don't call a friend

12:42crying and tell them all about it

12:43because you've already laid down your

12:46life that's how you know you know him

12:53I'm not talking about serving in

12:55ministry feeding the hungry and giving

12:56showers to the homeless that's all good

12:58but you only know that you know him by

13:01your love that's the Bible it says he

13:04who loveth is born of God and knoweth

13:07God he who loveth not just doesn't know

13:11God doesn't say you don't lead worship

13:13doesn't say you don't light in it dinner

13:16it speak doesn't say you don't go on a

13:18mission trip annually but it does say if

13:22you don't love there's one reason not to

13:24you don't know him like you could and

13:28this is eternal life that you might

13:33guess what we've turned eternal life

13:35into a prayer that benefits me instead

13:39of a truth that transforms me be real

13:44careful you didn't get seduced by

13:45religion in this hour be real careful

13:48you don't end up in a group with tickled

13:50ears be sure that every morning you wake

13:53up you be with them that you don't let

13:56church attendants take the place of

13:58knowing him you don't let your service

14:00in ministry take the place of knowing

14:02him you will let your Christian t-shirt

14:04ringtone screensaver and bumper sticker

14:06take the place of knowing this is

14:13eternal life that you might know him the

14:18only true God and His Son Jesus Christ

14:21Jimmy said which tells me I can't know

14:25him without becoming more like him is if

14:30you don't

14:30love you don't know him not saying you

14:35don't see your need for Savior and

14:36weren't sincere and didn't get your sins

14:37forgiven not saying your name's not in

14:39the book of life but is that really our

14:42goal our name in the book of life or is

14:45our goal becoming what he created us to

14:47be in becoming what he paid for so how's

14:51the world benefit if you have eternal

14:52life and you're still angry at your boss

14:54and you still shut down your spouse

14:59somehow we got tricked into preaching a

15:02gospel that benefits me without

15:05transforming me deny yourself take up

15:14your now you're following Jesus what to

15:19pick up your cross you never let sin

15:22against you produce sin in you you never

15:25repay evil with evil you overcome evil

15:27with good it's you you you toned down a

15:30harsh word with a kind word you give

15:34your shirt and your tunic you go an

15:36extra mile because you've already laid

15:39down your life that's called carry your

15:42cross

15:43could you imagine Jesus thinking like

15:46we've been taught to think having the

15:48feelings we've been tricked into having

15:50through the motives we live by

15:52do you understand your emotions were not

15:54given by God the ones you grew up with

15:57were not from the Lord do you get that

15:59people say well God gave us emotions

16:01stop giving him credit for the chaos we

16:04grew up with God didn't make you to be

16:08angry frustrated jealous in

16:10unforgiveness antagonized ticked off

16:13competitive he didn't make any of that

16:16we became that when Adam got separated

16:19from God and we were all born into Adam

16:21so what was created to love became in

16:24need of love because it was cut off from

16:26the source of love so we were all born

16:29into the need of love from the time you

16:31can remember you needed support valued

16:33attention and people get crushed in that

16:36arena they either become broken and

16:38introverted and insecure or hard and a

16:40fighter by a very young age you're

16:44nothing

16:44more than what you became through how

16:46you responded to what you've been

16:47through and your story becomes your

16:50identity not the truth of why you're

16:52here that's why people cling to their

16:55past so tight because it's the only

16:57place they ever found any sense of

16:59identity whether good or bad it's all

17:02they know about them and in the gospel

17:06you got a call that dead you got to come

17:08out from that you got to put that off

17:10and you're gonna put him on old things

17:12passed away behold all things become new

17:16I'm not a little boy that was touch

17:19strong anymore I'm not a guy that didn't

17:21have a daddy that was there for me and

17:23had an alcoholic father I'm not a guy

17:25that lost the mother after 40 years of

17:27sickness I'm a born-again spirit filled

17:30man without his hues I don't have issues

17:33I have the kingdom of God on the inside

17:37of me and I finally understand why mercy

17:39woke me up this morning because it gave

17:41me one more day to shine to walk in love

17:44and live by the spirit and be more like

17:46him and if I loved him

17:49I'll live what he says yeah come on out

17:54start to feel the gospel a little right

17:56now I've been trying to be behaved for

18:00you I didn't want to scare nobody but

18:02you looked a little scared in the

18:04beginning so I said okay we'll just

18:06we'll just calm down Dan just relax see

18:10cuz I look intense to you I know I do

18:12people tell me all the time I can feel

18:13it on me I can feel him I face but I'm

18:15ten times more right now on the inside

18:18than you're seeing it's I'm serious I

18:22believe discussable he shed blood for me

18:25the god of the universe reduced himself

18:29in my eyes reduced himself made the

18:32sacrifice to become a fetus in the womb

18:34of a woman hung out there for nine

18:38months

18:41the god of the universe put himself

18:45inside the womb of a woman to become a

18:49man to fulfill what man failed to redeem

18:52my life when you think I'm gonna get a

18:54hurt by you and get my feelings offended

18:58are you kidding me

19:01the god of the universe put himself in a

19:06woman and fulfilled what man failed and

19:10said hey follow me I think I'm gonna I

19:14know I'm gonna you're not gonna find me

19:19down and out forlorn and telling my

19:23story cuz right now I'm telling my story

19:28this is my story this is my son

19:33this ain't my story well born in 61 grew

19:39up in the city had a rough experience

19:41with a babysitter I don't know why God

19:43let that happen my dad always drinking

19:45never there for me I mean that's why I

19:47drink cuz he drank no that's a good

19:49reason not to drink well I just smoked

19:55pot because it was in the house all the

19:56time my parents always smoked it

19:58probably a good idea not to them what

19:59did it do to your family why do we need

20:03excuses to be the same when you're

20:06called for more and then we say well

20:09it's a generational curse no it might be

20:11a willful decision

20:26can't say that cuz he's knocking on the

20:27door of your heart he wants to introduce

20:30something new as soon as you open it

20:34he'll come in and sup with you this

20:37thinkin about a confession pastor is

20:41prayer no I became something different I

20:46remember the day I prayed the prayer no

20:48I remember the day I gave my life and he

20:51took it over it was 1995 and I'll never

20:55be the same

20:56I've never been the same since I'm more

20:59passionate and intense than I was then

21:16to tell Jesus that and talk him into

21:18that could you picture Jesus offended

21:28could you picture Jesus carrying the

21:30cross and he's beat beyond description

21:33they're still spitting on him it's

21:34pretty it's pretty degrading he's God he

21:39doesn't have to be there but I guess he

21:42does cuz he's loved because he can't

21:45change his mind he doesn't have options

21:48he doesn't seek his own so he can't be

21:51hurt by men cuz he loves men he can't be

21:55offended

21:56cuz he's loved it's not cuz he's Jesus

22:00it's cuz he's loved if it was cuz he's

22:06Jesus then I couldn't follow him but if

22:10it's cuz he's loved I could could you

22:14picture and get an analytical can you

22:16picture him second guessin could I've

22:19heard preachers say you can tell how God

22:21loves us cuz he could have come off that

22:23cross and he chose not to he could have

22:25come down from that cross and he chose

22:26not to where do you find that he could

22:29have come off that cross

22:31love never fails he's he's that change

22:34in his mind the forest he said saved

22:40others listen he'll men think saved

22:43others can't even save himself he's not

22:46here to save himself he's in his fight

22:51them and us saved others can't even save

22:59son of God oh he is he wasn't coming

23:39you're called to follow him and as he is

23:41so are you and this world and the things

23:42he does you'll do if you believe in your

23:45predestined to be conformed to the image

23:47of his son and he's the firstborn among

23:48many need any more scripture see I read

23:55this book right here and it showed me

23:58the way it really is and it trumped the

24:01way that seemeth right to a man so those

24:07feelings that want to come up and tempt

24:09you to be hurt and offended they get

24:11crushed by this higher truth you know

24:14sudden I realized I ain't got the same

24:16platform the same runways aren't in my

24:18life so we don't have the same flight

24:20numbers we don't have the same yeah

24:27could you picture

24:28this going up the hill and he just can't

24:32take no more and all of a sudden he just

24:35dropped us across he just says I can't

24:38do this anymore

24:39are you kidding me look what they're

24:41doing to me look look what they've done

24:42to me Father you know all I've ever done

24:45is good from the time I've been here

24:46I've done everything you've said I've

24:48healed the sick of cleansed are lepers

24:49I've raised their dead fed their bellies

24:53if they didn't change by now they're not

24:57gonna change

24:58remember Capernaum I mean I there wasn't

25:00one person left sick and all they're

25:02trying to do is to figure out what

25:04Devil's possessed me

25:05these people are whacked man I am NOT

25:07going through with this Barabbas they're

25:09screaming Barabbas Barabbas he killed a

25:12man he killed a man Lord I raised the

25:16dead and they want to do this to me he's

25:18in prison for conspiracy I'm trying to

25:45sinner's prayer we go for instruction

25:49it's love not a sinner's prayer every

25:53person on the earth could pray the

25:54sinner's prayer in the world won't

25:55change but if we become loved it has to

26:02I just wanna make it to heaven brother

26:07stop you don't even know what you're

26:09saying die to that some people pray God

26:11it's getting darker why don't you come

26:24saved and you're praying to get out of

26:26here you're looking for a great escape

26:31prayer by now that's on them at least I

26:33prayed the prayer come and get me man I

26:35happen with me to hell with the rest of

26:36these people I can't take much more and

26:40you think that's spiritual that's

26:43selfish and deceived you're supposed to

26:45wake up every day to shine as a light

26:47and live in the spirit and walk in the

26:48spirit and not fulfill the lust of the

26:50flesh and over a man starts with the

26:51reality of the love of God not begging

26:54to get out of here and escape and God

26:56you gotta get me a new job I can't stand

26:58my co-workers if you love me you'll give

27:01me a new job no if you love you'll see

27:03your co-workers different and you won't

27:10want a new job you won't want to run an

27:11escape you'll remember these words

27:52buttering him up he said she was really

27:54complimenting him he wasn't making fun

27:56of her he just telling me a funny story

27:57he said she said I need you to agree

28:00with me for my husband

28:01she said that man he won't come to

28:03church he makes me so angry

28:05he just does everything in his power to

28:07get on my nerves and to get to me he has

28:10learned how to push every one of my

28:11buttons and he does it on purpose and I

28:13just want to pray that God calm and just

28:16make him change did knock him off the

28:18horse just change his life would you

28:20pray with me

28:20my pastor goes I'll tell you what I

28:23think I have a different line of prayer

28:25I want to pray over she says what is it

28:28pastor because God hears you when you

28:29pray what do you want pray I want to

28:31pray that you go buttonless if you being

28:40okay depends on somebody else treating

28:43you different it's idolatry Jesus isn't

28:45even Lord and now you're only as strong

28:50as men's weakness and you're only as

28:52good as you're being treated and rather

28:54than as good as he is in you and all of

28:56a sudden life is speaking louder than

28:58truth and what matters most

29:00ain't even considered because you're

29:02letting all this matter more I don't

29:10think this is unreachable I think in

29:15that day we'll find that this was very

29:16reachable if we really live surrendered

29:18and have communion with God but I look

29:22for the day and I'm gonna keep preaching

29:24till I see the day when we gather in

29:27houses like this without offense without

29:31judgment without anxiety and fear and

29:34despair and discouragement because life

29:37has lost its voice in power

29:40the giver of it is who reigns in our

29:43lives and all of a sudden we ain't

29:47prayin for a better day we're living for

29:50a transformed one and all the studying

29:53come hell or high water we don't change

29:56because we shine and people do me wrong

29:59and I do them right people do me right

30:03and I do them right people betray me and

30:06I walk in love people don't betray me

30:09and I walk in love how you doing brother

30:12doing great man life is good in God that

30:14sure beats well really going through and

30:17it just keep me in prayer brother and

30:19all of a sudden we give ourselves away

30:22when you ask us how we're doing we share

30:24our two biggest challenges and throw in

30:26a keep me in prayer and all of a sudden

30:29we reveal that we're only doing as good

30:32as it's going instead of as good as he

30:35is in me and why come on you can't not

30:39hear what I'm saying it's too simple an

30:41eight-year-old could understand what I'm

30:43saying

30:43and it's all Scripture I've tied it in

30:47with lots of Scripture so that was our

30:52last two services so I just recapped and

30:54so now I'm gonna start kidding I'm

31:01let me close with this let me close to

31:03this the only way you're going to live

31:05this life is relationship with him it's

31:07Holy Spirit changing your life you have

31:09to be willing you have to be willing to

31:11lay down your life you have to throw

31:12away your rights how can we deny ourself

31:13and still have so many rights I'm

31:15confused confusions not of God I

31:17shouldn't be confused but I'm confused

31:19how can we have so many rights when

31:22we've denied ourselves and we seek first

31:24the kingdom why is it always he said she

31:26said not feel relation that well they

31:28should have known better when they were

31:29saved longer than me well honey

31:30sometimes it's like we're looking for

31:32trouble

31:37how wonder if you woke up everyday in

31:40your marriage and you actually believed

31:42in your heart your spouse do you

31:51let's play a bigger picture wonder if

31:55your spouse actually grew into that

31:56revelation and your spouse believes the
