0:00Well, this staggering surge that you've

0:01seen in Australia in the polls of this

0:03One Nation party going pretty much from

0:06nowhere to leading in some national

0:08polls and you can see an example of it

0:10there, the One Nation party on 30% with

0:13Labour one point behind. This is now

0:15being followed up in actual by-election

0:19results because you've seen already

0:21Australia a huge backlash against the

0:25levels of immigration. You can see 64%

0:28of voters in Australia want lower

0:30immigration, just 8% wanting to see a

0:34small or large increase in numbers.

0:38And it has led to this extraordinary

0:40surge for One Nation that is now seen a

0:43very dramatic by-election victory in a

0:46state parliament. So, this is a One

0:48Nation gain from Labour uh in the

0:52Western Australia parliament. And you

0:55can see that follows up from the

0:57national polls that have shown

1:00the One Nation party led by Pauline

1:02Hanson

1:03overtaking at Labour in some national

1:06polls and a big part of this is the

1:08issue of immigration. And you can see

1:11here just what a huge deal,

1:13really massive result this was in terms

1:17of Australian politics. This orange

1:20tsunami has been described as of One

1:22Nation sort of sweeping Australia right

1:26now, really is shaking up everything to

1:29the point there where you got people

1:30actually warning One Nation as being

1:33dangerous. That's the sort of language

1:36you're hearing now from their

1:37opposition. But yeah, a quite

1:40unbelievable by-election results that

1:42shows you this One Nation surge is for

1:44real.

1:45>> But what I can say is the support that

1:48we got tonight and Barnaby was there

1:50with me and Malcolm Roberts, and Shawn

1:52Bell and my daughter, we all turned up

1:54there to support them. The support that

1:56we got One Nation was overwhelming,

1:58outstanding. And people right across

2:01Australia, and I was in Singleton and

2:03Dubbo and and where I've gone, the the

2:05people have had a gutful of this

2:08Albanese Labor government. They want

2:10them gone. You have no idea what the

2:13groundswell of supporters is happening

2:15out there because they they just have

2:18had a gutful. And this is a clear

2:20indication of what's happening of the

2:2122% swing against the Labor Party in WA.

2:25They want change. People want change.

2:29>> How much though at a state by-election

2:31do you think Albanese was the the

2:33primary reason why you've seen the surge

2:35of support? Are there local factors as

2:38well that is driving rusted-on Labor

2:40voters to decide they want to vote for

2:43One Nation?

2:44>> Well, this was a staunch Labor seat

2:46since 1989. So, it's in Labor's hands

2:49for that long. The same as with Farrer

2:51as well, 77 years in the coalition's

2:55held that seat. So, the both the major

2:57political parties are on the nose. The

2:59people are hurting. I mean extremely

3:02hurting. It's cost of living,

3:03everything. Um they're worried about the

3:05future whether their kids can own a

3:06home. Um the cost of groceries gone up.

3:09So, you look at your staples have gone

3:11up around about 40 45 even up to 50%

3:14your staples gone up plus your

3:15insurance, everything that's gone up.

3:17So, people can't afford it anymore. And

3:20you've got to blame a lot of this coming

3:22from the the federal government. That's

3:24where these

3:26policies are coming from. Now,

3:29yes, there are some state issues in it,

3:31but I think the main hurt and pain is

3:33coming from the Albanese Labor

3:34government, the Chris Bowen, and this uh

3:37climate change policies.

3:40Um

3:40cost of electricity, it's the it's the

3:42guts of everything. That's what's

3:44happening with that. And to hear the

3:46hear the minister though over there who

3:48say, "Oh, well, we've we've introduced

3:50over 300,000 jobs." What a load of

3:52rubbish that is.

3:54The government doesn't introduce jobs.

3:56It is businesses that create jobs.
