0:14Good day everyone. Good day mom. This is

0:16Ira Salda speaking together with a group

0:19three and we will be going to discuss

0:22the formation of new Filipino values and

0:26behavior in modern times. So our

0:28learning objectives would be one

0:31describe how e-commerce has emerged in

0:34the Philippines. Two, identify the

0:37modern Filipino values influenced by the

0:40emergence of e-commerce in the

0:42Philippines in the modern times. Three,

0:45discuss the key factors that contribute

0:47to the rise of e-commerce in the

0:49Philippines. Four, analyze the impact of

0:52e-commerce on social norms and community

0:55interactions among Filipinos. So,

0:58Filipino society is built on deeproed

1:01values such as Bayanihan, Hya and Otang

1:04Nalu. With a continuous rise of

1:06globalization and technology, these

1:09traditional values are being reshaped to

1:11fit the modern world. E-commerce now

1:14plays a major role in influencing the

1:17social and economic behavior of

1:19Filipinos.

1:20changing the way they live, work, and

1:22interact. Through this change,

1:25traditional Filipino values are being

1:27blended with digital modern

1:31modernization,

1:33reflecting the nation's ability to adapt

1:35while preserving its cultural identity.

1:38This shows how traditional Filipino

1:41values like bayan or helping one another

1:45hya sense of shame or respect and utanob

1:49of gratitude remain important in our

1:51society even today. However, because of

1:55globalization and the rise of technology

1:58especially e-commerce

2:01these values are slowly changing in how

2:03they are expressed. Like for example,

2:06the spirit of bayanihan can now be seen

2:09online. So through online people help

2:12others with digital fundraising or

2:15supporting small online sellers.

2:18Compared before that bayanihan involves

2:21physical collaboration or contain

2:24face-to-face interaction

2:27and orangal also appear and how

2:30Filipinos interact respectfully and

2:32maintain good relationships with

2:35customers or business partners online.

2:38So this means that while our culture is

2:42modernizing, Filipinos still carry their

2:45traditional values into the genital

2:47world.

2:48This highlights that the Philippines is

2:50adapting to modern times without losing

2:53its cultural identity, blending the old

2:56and the new ways of life. Good day each

2:58and everyone. I am Kiten Aban and I will

3:01be discussing the emergence of

3:02e-commerce in the Philippines.

3:05E-commerce is short for electronic

3:06commerce. But before we proceed, let us

3:09first know what is commerce. Commerce is

3:12the exchange of goods and services

3:14between two or more entities.

3:16So, e-commerce or electronic commerce

3:19means buying and selling goods and

3:21services through the internet. It allows

3:24people and businesses to trade online

3:26using computers or smartphones. So,

3:29instead of going to physical stores,

3:32customers can now order what they need

3:34through websites or mobile apps and have

3:36them delivered to their homes.

3:40In the Philippines, e-commerce has grown

3:42fast because it gives comfort and

3:44convenience to many people. It saves

3:46time, offers more product choices, and

3:49often provides cheaper prices and

3:52special discounts.

3:54Businesses also benefit because they can

3:56reach more customers online, not only

3:59from their local area, but even from the

4:02other parts of the country or abroad.

4:05During the CO 19 pandemic, e-commerce

4:08became even more important. Since people

4:11stayed at home for safety, they relied

4:14on online shopping for their needs.

4:16Platforms like Zalora, Lazada, Shopee,

4:20and Beauty M&L became very popular

4:23because they made it easy for people to

4:25buy clothes, beauty products, gadgets,

4:29food, and many other items without

4:31leaving their homes. So behind the

4:34scenes, e-commerce works through

4:36different systems that handle orders,

4:39payments, and deliveries. For example,

4:42when we buy something online, the

4:44website sends our order to the seller,

4:47then processes our payment through

4:49secure systems like e-wallets, bank

4:52transfers, or credit cards. After that,

4:56delivery services bring the items

4:58straight to our doorstep. All of these

5:00steps make e-commerce fast, safe, and

5:04reliable. Now, let's move on to the key

5:08factors in the rise of e-commerce in the

5:10Philippines.

5:12These are the main reasons why online

5:14shopping and digital business continue

5:17to grow rapidly in our country.

5:20Each factor highlights how technology,

5:23people, and innovation work together to

5:26strengthen the e-commerce industry.

5:28The first key factor is in internet

5:31penetration and mobile connectivity.

5:34This refers to the widespread use of the

5:38internet and smartphones which allows

5:40Filipinos to easily access online

5:43shopping platforms.

5:45With affordable mobile data and strong

5:47internet connection, more people can

5:50browse products, make transactions, and

5:53communicate with sellers anytime and

5:55anywhere. Thank you. Today I am Iron May

5:59Tolentino.

6:01Second is young and thick s population

6:05a generation skilled in using technology

6:08driving the popularity of online

6:10businesses and digital platform.

6:14So a general skilled in using modern

6:16technology driving the growth of online

6:18businesses and digital platforms by

6:22preferring online activities like

6:24shopping, studying and working. So for

6:27example, in the Philippines, many young

6:30people use platforms like Shopee,

6:32Lazada, and Tik Tok Shop to buy or sell

6:35products. For instance, a college

6:38student might run a small online

6:40clothing store through Tik Tok and

6:43Instagram. Because they know how to use

6:46social media, online payment system, and

6:49marketing tools, their business can

6:51reach many customer easily. showing how

6:54a thick sav generation helped boost the

6:58digital economy.

7:01So third is economic growth and

7:03urbanization. The increase in income and

7:06city development that leads to higher

7:08demand for convenient online services.

7:12So economic growth and urbanization

7:14increase income and city development

7:17leading people to seek faster and more

7:19convenient options like online shopping,

7:22delivery services

7:26and digital banking. Good day everyone.

7:28I am April Rose Hermelia. So improved

7:32payment systems. Improved payment system

7:35allow people to pay for goods and

7:37services easily and safely through

7:40online methods like credit cards, debit

7:43cards and e-wallets.

7:45Example using G-Cash or Pay Maya to pay

7:48for online shopping or bills instead of

7:51using cash.

7:53Next is government initiatives.

7:56Government initiatives are programs

7:58created by the government to help

8:01citizens develop digital skills and

8:03encourage online business opportunities.

8:07Example, the DIC's digital literacy

8:10training helps Filipino learn how to use

8:14computers and the internet for jobs and

8:16online businesses. Good day everyone. My

8:19name is Christine May Aino. So the next

8:21one is the [music] rise of social

8:23commerce. So what is it? It is the use

8:26of social media platform as [music]

8:27marketplace for promoting and selling

8:30product. So in recent years social

8:33commerce has emerged as a powerful trend

8:35in the digital marketplace. So this

8:38refers to the use of social media

8:40platforms such as Facebook, Instagram

8:43and even Tik Tok as spaces where

8:45businesses can [music] promote and

8:47directly sell their products or

8:49services. So for example,

8:54a content creator posted [music] a video

8:56on Tik Tok like postmote

9:03product. So the users [music] can

9:05purchase them directly through

9:07integrated shopping links or

9:11yellow basket.

9:13And lastly is the entrepreneurial spirit

9:16and [music] theme engagement.

9:19So the active involvement of small

9:21business in [music] e-commerce to reach

9:23more customers and grow online. So an

9:26increase in entrepreneurial activity

9:28especially among the small and mediumsiz

9:31businesses or the theme

9:34has been encouraged by the growth of

9:37digital platforms. So here are the other

9:40contributing factors. the logistic and

9:43delivery services, the fulfillment

9:46centers and the positive customers

9:48[music] experience.

9:50So the first one is the logistic and

9:52delivery services. So they offer the

9:55faster and the more reliable shipping.

9:58Next is the fulfillment centers which

10:01improves tracking and order efficiency.

10:05And last is the positive customers

10:07[music] experience. So it encourage

10:09repeat purchases and loyalty. So the

10:13other contributing factors to business

10:16success include logistics and delivery

10:18services, [music]

10:19fulfillment centers and positive

10:21customers experience. So the efficient

10:24logistics and delivery ensure that the

10:26product reach customers quickly. Hi

10:28>> everyone, my name is Jala Pacquiao

10:30Bakula. So I'm here to discuss Filipinos

10:33Filipino values influenced by

10:35e-commerce.

10:36cultural shifts blending global and

10:38local values. E-commerce allows

10:41[clears throat] Filipinos to access

10:42products and ideas from all over the

10:44world, mixing global trends with local

10:47tradition tradition. So for example, we

10:49might see Filipinos buying traditional

10:51Filipinana clothing online but with the

10:54modern design influenced by global

10:56fashion trend. Second, rise of consumer

10:58risk culture and appreciation for trend.

11:01E-commerce and social media expose

11:03Filipinos to a constant stream of new

11:05products and trends which can fuel a

11:08desire to buy more things. So we the

11:10Filipino genie consumer consumers in

11:13particular often shop online to reward

11:16ourselves. For example, the popularity

11:18of online shopping platforms like

11:21shopping and Lazada where Filipinos can

11:24easily purchase the latest gadgets,

11:28clothing and beauty products.

11:30Third, more opportunities for

11:33entrepreneurship and financial

11:34independence with better access to

11:36information and technology. More Philip

11:39more people are starting their own

11:41businesses and becoming financially

11:43independent. So for example, the rise of

11:46online businesses in our country where

11:48people sell products through social

11:50media or e-commerce platforms allowing

11:53them to earn a living on their own

11:56terms. Fourth, encouragement of ethical

11:59consumption and support for local

12:00products. There's growing trend of

12:03Filipinos using e-commerce to support

12:05local businesses and buy ethical source

12:07products. For example, online

12:09marketplace that specialize in selling

12:12Filipino made crafts, food and clothing,

12:15promoting local entrepreneurship and

12:17sustainable practices. Fifth, growth of

12:22innovation and sustainability awareness.

12:25E-commerce can promote awareness of

12:26sustainable products and practices as

12:29well as provide a platform for

12:31innovative Filipino businesses to reach

12:33a wide wider audience. For example,

12:37e-commerce helps Filipinos learn about

12:39e-friendly products, eco-friendly

12:42products. It also lets new creative

12:45Filipino businesses sell their stuff to

12:48more people.

13:04Hello, I am Francisco Real Tamayo. So,

13:07here are some traditional values in the

13:09digital age. Number one, Bayanihan.

13:12Bayanihan community cooperation in

13:14online group buying and local seller

13:16support. For example, during the CO9

13:19pandemic, many Filipinos use online

13:21group buying to secure essential goods

13:24such as groceries, cleaning supplies,

13:26and even health products. Instead buying

13:29from big chain store or online giants,

13:32people coordinated with local sellers

13:34often through social media groups to

13:36make bulk purchases. The idea was

13:39support local businesses while getting

13:41prices for everyone involved. So number

13:43two is utangob loyalty and trust

13:46businesses with good service and

13:48quality. Example, a local online seller

13:51delivers essential groceries to a family

13:53during a lockdown even on short notice

13:56and without extra fees. The family

13:58feeling grateful continues to order from

14:01that seller even after instruction are

14:04lifted because of their previous help.

14:06>> Shopping social media to digital

14:09payments.

14:11But even with all these modern changes,

14:14Filipinos still continue to show our

14:17traditional values in new ways online.

14:21In my report, I'll share some example of

14:24these values and how they are seen in

14:27our digital world today.

14:29So number four is Balik Bayan spirit.

14:32The first value is Balik Bayan spirit.

14:35This mean the strong connection that

14:37overseas Filipinos maintain with their

14:39home country. In the digital age, we can

14:42see these true Filipinos abroad who

14:45support local businesses by buying

14:47Filipino products

14:52and staying connected with their

14:53families through social media. This

14:55shows that even if they're far away,

14:58their love for the Philippines is still

15:00strong.

15:01So number five is pagmaasakit.

15:05So which means showing care and concern

15:07for others. In the digital world, this

15:10value appears when Filipino join online

15:13donation drives,

15:15fundraising campaigns or support social

15:18enterprises that help communities.

15:22It shows that technology can be used to

15:24spread kindness and help others in need.

15:29And next is pakiki sama. The third value

15:33is pakiki sama or maintaining harmony

15:37and cooperation online. That means being

15:40respectful

15:41and cooperative in group chats, social

15:45media, and online communities.

15:48Even if you are interacting through

15:50screens, Filipinos still value being

15:53kind, supportive, and avoiding conflict.

15:59So in my conclusion, [cough]

16:03e-commerce and digital technology are

16:05changing how Filipino live, shop, and

16:09communicate. But even with all these

16:11modern changes, we can still see that

16:15our traditional values like Bayanihan,

16:18Pagmama, and Kisama remain strong.

16:22The digital world help Filipinos show

16:25trust, teamwork, and national pride in

16:28new ways.

16:30Through e-commerce, we balance being

16:32modern and global while still keeping

16:35our Filipino identity.

16:38So, this shows that even in our

16:41connected and modern world, traditional

16:44Filipino values connect continue to

16:48thrive.
