0:01three research labs, one my freshman
0:03year and two my sophomore year. Dear
0:05Professor, I hope this email finds you
0:07well. My name is Sujitha Kumaraju and
0:09I'm a freshman at Cornell majoring in
0:11global and public health sciences. I
0:12have a strong interest in chronic and
0:14metabolic diseases, particularly type 2
0:16diabetes and the role of precision
0:18nutrition in prevention and management,
0:20which closely aligns to the research
0:21focus of your lab. I recently read your
0:23publication, The Mitochondrial Brown
0:25Adipose Tissue Maintenance Factor
0:27Nipsnap 1 interfaces directly with the
0:29beta ox station protein missionary and
0:31was especially intrigued by your
0:33findings on Nipsnap's 1's essential role
0:35in sustaining brown adipose tissue
0:37thermogenesis. The potential
0:39implications for targeting lipid
0:40metabolism and chronic disease
0:41management are extremely intriguing to
0:43me.
0:44Beyond academics, I bring a deep
0:46curiosity, strong organizational skills,
0:48and a genuine passion for tackling
0:50health inequities through science. As
0:52someone who's worked in health education
0:54and science communication, I'm eager to
0:56contribute meaningfully to your lab
0:57while continuing to grow as a
0:59researcher.
