0:07about five years ago whenever I had a

0:11choice to make

0:13I looked at my age first of all I'm in

0:16the late 40s just lost my significant

0:18other and here I'm standing with nothing

0:20I had some family members that I have a

0:24lot of high respect for and was that you

0:26need to get into construction where you

0:27have a 401k and insurance and steady

0:31work and a job

0:33opportunity is what I had I had a choice

0:36I could either have said I'm stuck in

0:38this little box or I can look ahead and

0:40yes and I'm so glad I did

0:43I'm Gina I'm an equipment operator for

0:46Kinsley Construction I've worked here

0:48for a year and a half

0:51I started out on a roller and then I got

0:55to run rubber tire loaders a little John

0:57Deere backhoe and then I got to set in

0:59the Dozer and that's where I fell in

1:01love I was a cut Dozier operator for a

1:03different company and of course this bad

1:06boy these things are amazing it's a

1:09futuristic truck they've had it I've

1:12tried to I can make it move I can tell

1:13you that now running it and operating

1:15it's a whole different ball game

1:16hopefully one of these days I have a go

1:18I'm a wannabe operator that's what I

1:21want to be so that's usually what I tell

1:23everybody

1:24um and I'm I'm getting the opportunity

1:26here to do that

1:30I won't lie at first I was terrified

1:34I got over that real quick that fear

1:38I found a the only way to

1:41alleviate that is to just do your job

1:45correctly and want to do the job and I

1:48try every day I try hard every day and

1:50that's all we can't do I don't want any

1:52special treatment I don't think women

1:54get special treatment now

1:56well I believe women do have a place in

1:58construction I always have it's just how

2:01your mindset is It's A Hard Day's work

2:03and I love it we always just we're a

2:06team and my job depends on them and they

2:10depend on me

2:11to get it done yeah we've all work

2:13together and in sync

2:15it's such a fulfilling job

2:19you feel good the end of the day you've

2:22been part of something so large so big

2:25removing 900 000 yards of dirt that's a

2:28big deal

2:29a big job and to be able to be part of
