Free YouTube Transcribe

Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 6, 2026

freeyoutubetranscribe.com ("we", "this site") is a free tool that generates transcripts of YouTube videos. This policy explains what information is involved when you use it. The short version: there are no accounts, we don't ask for personal information, and the things the tool remembers live in your own browser.

Information we do not collect

What stays in your browser

Your list of recent transcripts and your theme choice are stored in your browser's local storage on your device. They never reach our servers, and you can clear them at any time with the "Clear" button or by clearing your browser's site data.

What our servers see

Like almost every website, our hosting provider (Cloudflare) processes standard request data, such as IP addresses, to serve pages and protect the site from abuse. We keep a shared cache of transcripts for public YouTube videos (the video ID and its public caption text) so transcript pages load fast; this cache contains nothing about the visitors who viewed them.

Third-party services

Cookies and advertising

This site does not set tracking cookies. If we introduce advertising in the future (for example, Google AdSense) to keep the tool free, third-party ad vendors may use cookies to serve ads, and this policy and the site will be updated to reflect that before it happens, including any consent controls required in your region.

Children

This site is a general-audience tool and does not knowingly collect any personal information from anyone, including children.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with an updated date above.
